A second alarming appointment by the Biden Administration is that of Reema Dodin, a Palestinian-American, who will now be deputy director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. In 2002 Dodin expressed her deep understanding of, and sympathy for, all those “desperate people” who became suicide bombers. Addressing a church audience in Loma, California, spreading the gospel of Palestinianism in her interfaith outreach, she said that the Palestinian “suicide bombers were the last resort of a desperate people.” Not a word of sympathy, not in 2002 and not in the 18 years since, for the Israeli victims of those suicide bombers whose “desperation” she finds so understandable. Now comes news that Biden has nominated Uzra Zeya, who has a long record of denouncing the “Israel lobby” and the “secret money” it uses to control American politicians, to become undersecretary for civilian security, democracy, and human rights. That’s the very worst place to put her. As to “civilian security,” doesn’t that include security from terrorists – including Islamic terrorists? Uzra Zeya doesn’t seem too interested even in the “civilian security” of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. She appears not to care that Hamas and the PLO (which is part of the PA), endanger their own civilians by placing weapons in schools, hospitals, mosques, and apartment buildings. Nor does her support of the despotic and corrupt regimes, of Hamas in Gaza, and the PA in the West Bank, suggest she should be in charge of defending “democracy” anywhere else. Finally, she is entrusted with defending “human rights” around the world – but human rights are trampled on in Gaza and the PA-held territories. President Joe Biden’s nominee for a top State Department position played a key role in assembling a book on the nefarious influence of the “Israel lobby” while working for an organization that promoted claims about Jewish media control and dual loyalty to Israel.

As a staffer at the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, Uzra Zeya compiled research for a book that argues that “the Israel lobby has subverted the American political process to take control of U.S. Middle East policy” by establishing a secret network of “dirty money” PACs that bribe and extort congressional candidates into taking pro-Israel positions. Zeya, a former U.S. diplomat who was nominated for undersecretary for civilian security, democracy, and human rights, worked for the Washington Report and its publishing group, the American Educational Trust, in 1989 and 1990. The news outlet is staunchly anti-Israel and has published articles questioning the national loyalty of American Jews and opposing taxpayer funding to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

The Washington Report, for which Uzra Zeya worked for two years, is not merely anti-Israel. To oppose funding of the Holocaust Memorial Museum is antisemitic. To publish articles claiming that the Mossad was behind both the killing of JFK and of the 9/11 attacks is antisemitic.

Zeya’s work for the Washington Report and American Educational Trust raises questions about her views on Israel and could become an obstacle during her confirmation hearings. Biden’s recent hiring moves on foreign policy and conflicting statements from staffers have made it unclear how his administration plans to approach Israel policy issues. White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki recently declined to denounce the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, contradicting statements condemning the movement from Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Biden’s nominee for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, the Washington Free Beacon recently reported. Biden also tapped anti-Israel activist Maher Bitar for a top intelligence post and is reportedly considering Matt Duss, an outspoken critic of Israel, for a State Department position.

Sean Durns, a research analyst at the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, called the Washington Report a “fringe organization” that has “published content with anti-Semitic themes,” including claims that the Mossad was behind the JFK assassination and the Sept. 11 attacks.

Organizations like the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs have a history of propagating fringe and sometimes anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and I think it’s absolutely fair for questions to be raised in any sort of potential hearings,” said Durns.

When it comes time for Uzra Zeya’s confirmation hearings, I assume, optimistically, that she will be asked about her work on the Washington Report. Isn’t it true, she should be asked, that she compile research for a book that argues that “the Israel lobby has subverted the American political process to take control of U.S. Middle East policy” by establishing a secret network of “dirty money” PACs that bribe and extort congressional candidates into taking pro-Israel positions? Presumably she agreed with the book’s thesis at the time. How did she feel about its accusations now? Did she agree that the “Israel lobby” has “subverted the American political process”? Did she continue to work for the Washington Report even after it had blamed Mossad for the assassination of JFK and the 9/11 attacks? If she had left the magazine before those articles were published, did she ever express her disagreement with their content? Does she still read the Washington Report?

What does Uzra Zeya think her task should be in defending human rights? Does she have any particular concerns about human rights – especially the rights of women, and Christians — in the Palestinian territories? Or in Muslim-majority lands, more generally? Does she think that changing one’s religion should be a basic human right? Does she think that American foreign aid should be withheld from despotic and corrupt regimes, including that of Hamas in Gaza? What about the PA in the West Bank, where Mahmoud Abbas has accumulated a fortune of $400 million? How does she view Israel? Does Ms. Zeya agree with the vast majority of Americans, who see the Jewish state as a firm ally, that shares our values – democracy and respect for human rights — or does she have another view?

That’s a starter kit of questions. Let’s hope at least some of them are asked, so that Uzra Zeya doesn’t have the smooth sailing she’s no doubt expecting. Make her confirmation hearings a memorable moment.

In a historic move, the American Legion, at its national convention in Reno on Thursday, August 24, 2017, approved Resolution 40 calling for the first full U.S. government investigation of Israel's attack on the USS Liberty. Gunnery Sergeant Lockwood (USMC, ret.) was on hand during the entire convention working for passage of the resolution. Lockwood was awarded the Silver Star for "conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action in connection with the unprovoked and unexpected armed attack on U.S.S. LIBERTY (AGTR-5), in the Eastern Mediterranean, on 8 June." Lockwood said there were a lot of "hand shakes, hugs, and some tears" after the vote. Wow, so many claim to "support the troops." What's going on? The American Legion's resolution brings the nation's largest veterans organization back on the side of the USS Liberty survivors, family, and supporter in calling upon the "115th United States Congress to publicly, impartially, and thoroughly investigate the attack on the USS Liberty and its aftermath." The resolution also aligns the Legion with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, which, in 2013, adopted Resolution 423 at their national convention calling for the attack to be investigated. The Liberty was a U.S. Navy electronics ship operating in international waters in the eastern Mediterranean when it was attacked by Israeli forces. The ship's commander received the Congressional Medal of Honor and the crew is one of the most decorated for a single engagement in U.S. Navy history. The brave survivors deserve to see this happen before they die. When you don't have legitimate factual defense, and you are without shame and want your position to be accepted at any cost, the only thing left is lying. There have been no US investigations at all into the conduct of the Israeli forces when they attacked USS Liberty.  The Israelis have never been asked to produce evidence, nor have they been interviewed about the attack. You figure that one out. US governmental entity has never undertaken an investigation into the culpability for the attack. Also figure that one out. No agency or other institution has ever conducted a fact finding investigation into the question of why the Israeli State launched the attack and their prior knowledge that USS Liberty was a US Navy ship. One widow went over the edge and the state took her kids away. Some of my men were threatened with being put in a mental institution if they spoke out. None of us had any contact with the other until the first reunion of the LIBERTY twenty years after the attack. Everybody was assigned to different duty stations to keep us apart… “That morning I saw a couple of the Israeli over flights, we waved at each other. We all felt safe, as they were friends. I was back in my general quarter’s station two levels down when I heard the thud-thud-thud of the rockets overhead, but they never penetrated the bowels of the ship. “It was such a well planned accident. They took out just about every antenna we had. All of them were knocked out except for one that never worked right. It was also the first satellite communications in the U.S.A. Wow. The ship was finally able to get a distress signal out to american ship after a crew member was able to wire a makeshift antenna in hopes to signal help. Israel intercepted the calls, listened in, then immediately stopped bombing in fear of retaliation. They THEN claimed it was all just a terrible mistake. Despite the massive cover-up and lies.  Word must have traveled quick. President Johnson personally demanded that the retaliation fighters immediately cease and called them off. IT SEEMS TO BE NOW OR FOREVER/ A NEW DISORDER OF THE AGES

(Or is it only ancient and unjustified?) Hail Eris...I escaped England on the day Boris Johnson became the newest puppet of masters, vested interests, donors and manipulators. The evil of of two lessers. 23rd of July, Sirius day (The sun behind the sun). British people prefer characters these days more than actual character. Put it down to the Reality TV facebook twitter lifestyle. A loveable eccentric eh? Blonde and bumbling, good for a laugh huh? Despite the fact that he is a serial barefaced liar, was a very dubious lord mayor of London with highly expensive/ridiculous ideas and utter bollocks at being Foreign Secretary. Boris wrote in 1999 'I am a raving Euro federalist...a pro European of the most violent, dyspeptic and incurable disposition'. (That was until he saw 52 percent of Brits wanted to leave the EU and thought AHA! I smell a way to power.) We all forgive a rogue with boyish charm don't we? Let's see how long the United Kingdom survives. On the day I flew back The New York Times front page had a column: 'Is Johnson how Britain will end?' 

Depressing advert seen on the side of of red London bus...'Bucket Life (KFC) delivered'. Buckets of antibiotic pumped peculiar half 'chicken' type chemicals straight to your door. Good to have the empty bucket handy after one has consumed a feast fit for vomiting straight out again. Obesity well on the rise over there, he says, wolfing an entire packet of chocolate waffles with half a litre of cold milk.

Religion/politics...Nice quoted headline from a Taliban spokesman last month: 'We will not bomb schools or hospitals'. How very decent and noble of them after all these years, perhaps there aren't enough left to bother with. Today on the BBC news their spokesman said they 'never targeted civilians'. Well quite a lot seem to have been accidentally blown up by roadside and suicide bombs...Hard to imagine a decent future for the non fanatical people of Afghanistan, especially the females and shameful that the west is withdrawing because 'peace' is so near. Fnord. Perhaps they will get a cut in the opium profits/prophets. 'Mission accomplished'. Really? Saudi Arabia will now allow women to go out without permission or a guardian. In '2019'? Surely they will microchip them under the veil and have them followed by drones. How long did it take the sheiks just to accept female drivers? Nice folk who agreed to release a woman's rights activist only IF she said she hadn't been tortured. Swine.

'Can Christians in the US survive without bibles? The answer is probably not'. Thus spake the Global Times newspaper, run by the allegedly communist party of China. This, in response to hearing of new US tariffs on Chinese goods...guess where their bibles are made? That's right. 'The spiritual world of most American people is based on China's industrial capability'. Fascinating sentence on many levels. Take five seconds and think on the implications of that, if you will...

I watched several Trump debacles on CNN this summer. As usual, the 'fake news/liberal media' (etc etc) doesn't actually need to make any stories up, he provides a limitless supply of verbatim goodies with which to play. And then tries to deny he ever said them by using outright lies and obfustication (exactly the same as Boris's 'dead cat on the table' idea.) The four congresswomen of colour Trump ranted about...the chanting crowd 'Send her back'....'I didn't like that they did that and I started speaking very quickly'....Live TV coverage showed it took him 13 seconds before he spoke over them, while he turned left and right...and just for a second got that look of shiny eyed pride. His sentence that he had been 'down there' with the first responders on Nine Eleven. Surely his supporters (apart from QAnon who is either a moron, brilliant comedian or Kremlin sock puppet) must know he is lying in their faces..perhaps they really don't care. Like Melania's coat.

One of the congresswomen (Born in Somalia and a naturalised citizen) had made a non racist comment that some congressmen appear to have received money from Israeli businesses to promote their interests. Well..seems likely and fair enough, that is how it usually works everywhere. Those with money pay politicians to dance and the dosh is gleefully accepted. Not just Israel. It looks as if Trump seized on this as a useful way of stirring up manure. Criticising the state of Israel and her government is not racist just because they are Jewish. Corruption is corruption, whatever the colour or creed. And a prostitute is a prostitute. How many of Trump's KKK followers and Republican Christian haters of abortion actually support Israel? Take a calm guess on the percentages of probability. How many 'acting' people has he around him now? (One way of keeping them on their toes...) 'Fat tangerine racist with the brains of a McNugget' indeed. Hopefully he will continue to take no unhealthy exercise and maintain his cheeseburger diet.  

And Yet Another mass slaughter by a man/boy with a gun. In protest at the 'Hispanic invasion'. In Texas. That's right Texas, which used to belong to the Mexicans before the old land grab in the name of oil. Trump rambling that bigotry, racism and white supremacy have no place in America. Well apparently they do and are not diminished by your former and continuing outright lack of total condemnation over the last few years. Although they have been strengthened by your petulant little blonde boy Hitler youth type attitudes towards blacks, Moslems, Native Americans and Mexicans. Germophobia because of colour? (unless the showers are golden) Does darker skin seem dirty to you? You approach black sportsmen and musicians with a type of benevolent fascination rather than actual friendship.  

Extinction Rebellion...Hmm..'And yes, some of us may die in the process', as one of the English leaders of the movement said. Unlikely the 52 year old with a PhD meant himself. However, a placard I saw held aloft by a young protester read; 'WHY AM I BEING EDUCATED IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THE EDUCATED' was a highly salient point (albeit without a question mark at the end.) Scientists amass careful evidence of global warming and the politicians, being paid regular large sums by oil, gas, precious metal companies etc, ignore long term survival for the sake of all following generations. Leave it for the kids to inherit a wasteland. However, in the XR handbook, it mentions the protests causing the 'necessary material disruption and economic cost'. Costs which will be mostly paid by those on average to minimum incomes...doesn't really square with XR also seeking the 'redistribution of wealth'. Marxist twats masturbating their egos. Personally, I am far more on the side of the rebellious, always have been and will be, just seems a shame XR seem so full of smugness, radical unbalanced vegans and hatred. (and I would like to know exactly where their funding comes from) Not possible to be a quiet, determined but peaceful fanatic. I have always liked Jaz Coleman's old quote that 'Fanaticism is the only way of dealing with a situation of overwhelming odds.' At last reason makes perfect sense! And speaking of those who love Mother Earth...

Who didn't love Putin's wonderful speech to a manufacturing and industrial forum in Yekaterinburg?....Hilarious stand up comedy as he asked 'How many birds are dying?' (By flying into wind farm turbines.) And followed that heartfelt classic up with 'This is no joke, the worms crawl right out of the ground' (due to the shaking...) 'This is the consequence of these modern forms of energy production'. In other words, keep buying oil and gas and sod clean solar and wind power because some worms and birds have a problem with it. How does the universe not laugh him into a Siberian gulag? Trump had said that wind turbines 'are killing all the eagles'. He didn't mention the worms. Don't mention the worms! It is lovely to know Mr Putin cares so much about our feathered and slimy friends. (Good to see Russia welcomed back into the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe after 5 years out in the howling wilderness for its invasion of Crimea. Well, the PCE were running very low on funding and Russia owed them a lot of well needed roubles. These assemblies cost money...and souls for Yog Sothoth)

Many hundreds of protesters have been arrested in Moscow over the last couple of weeks. They had been asking a fair question of where all the opposition parties and leaders had gone for the local elections. And the main opposition leader was moved from prison to hospital (and then back again) due to having had 'an allergic reaction'. Well, poison can do that to a man. Especially when he thwarts the Kremlin in any way. Whoever described Russia as a democracy? Not Solzhenitsyn. 11th August, one week after it told America that it is watching its missile programme VERY closely and will 'match every step with one of our own', Russia tells Google to stop advertising 'illegal demonstrations' or it will take action against it. Lovely news.

Meanwhile in Hong Kong...How long before the veritable Mrs Lam 'invites' the tanks in to help? Good luck with freedom people, be careful. At least Li Pcheng is dead. (one of the minds behind the June 1989 massacre of students in Peking) As one newspaper over here said 'One butcher is gone, others remain.' Detention Centres/'Vocational Schools' have been set up in Tibet where lucky students 10-20 years old can 'learn law (!) language and employable skills' and renounce the Dalai Lama. The latter is non optional. And the former. China has said the camps are 'all expenses paid humane boarding schools'. Humane is not a word for semantic realists to associate with their regime. One more time, Tibet is NOT China in any way whatsoever and certainly not spiritually. A fair number of Huawei workers were educated at and worked with and for China's varied military agencies. Enough to be worrying that Britain has yet to refuse them contracts involved in building the 5G mobile network. Smart phones for foolish people. Are these really the folk to have linked up to a telecommunications network in a democratic country?

Speaking of which...Seems that most folk in Britain have not got the smallest idea how much they have been manipulated. Direct links between Boris, (still in close touch with Steve Bannon) Farage and Trump. The well interwoven threads of populists pandering to the lowest common denominator in the name of self gain. The democracies of the western world are being turned against themselves in the name of foul hearted demagogues. Lack of balanced education has made a deep mass unawareness of actual facts. Human emotions are being weaponised to make choices based on wrong information.  It has always been so but it is far easier now due to false twitter accounts/facebook et al. Trump's entire vision is based exactly on genuine false news and what he and the other similar familiars are promoting is a virus of illusion and outright lies.  

Psyops..(psychological operations) have been used for centuries. There is much wrong with the EU, but they are way closer to us (Britain) in spirit and democratic culture than Russia and China. Those voting for more control of borders will eventually be gifted with less and less freedom but at least it will have been their democratic choice. Arf. The majority of Britons believe they are making patriotic choices. They are not. They are assisting in the break up and destabilising of friendships based on level headed, pragmatical agreements. And into this weakness will move those whose only interest is mass control. We are serving our enemies.

But that said, it is good to be aware that 'Opinions result from perceptions and perceptions reinforce opinions which then further control perceptions, in a repeating loop that logic can never penetrate.' Stasis and decay result unless a little shock of the new is introduced one way or the other to 'startle the brain enough to re-frame its experiences'. So there you have it. Or as Buddha said, 'We are the result of everything we have thought.' Makes you think, doesn't it? Ha. How do you know you are thinking? So...You knew that would happen but you did it anyway...

Back to normality....

While in London, I played with my band and after we had played a fast song called Natural Chaos, (a classic) the bass player told me I had shape shifted and looked like a reptile. No drugs involved. Very disturbing to be told this as I have various theories about those who look reptilian. Oh well, perhaps cold rage and evil are still within. Shame. I spent three and a half hours one afternoon freeing a bumble bee from a large black spider's web in the garden. Got it out, gave it a couple of flowers to suck from and get energy, some rain drops of water to help clean itself, tiny tiny bits of hedge twig to gently attempt to get the web off like a careful brain surgeon. Got two legs free, very gently helped clean one half of the head (it didn't fight or try to sting me) Put it in sunshine for some seconds to power it up, then back into cooler shade and back to work. Absolute focus of three hours. Web is VERY difficult to get off. I left it alone with some more rain drops from a flower tray to drink from. Went back, tried again until darkness fell. Had to leave it by side of flower bed, still half covered by binding web. In the morning found the bee was dead but had managed to remove the rest of the web itself and die clean. The energy it must have spent would have been massive. Wondered about attempting to mess with nature and whether it is justified but I could not have left it wrapped up and trapped. So, I am a hippy reptile. And according to someone in my family I am also a Socialist and cynical. Cynical I can live with (having checked the exact meaning and origin) but bollocks to Socialism. Labels are truly ridiculous...Libertarian anarchist is closer to a useful definition. Or failed mystic. Arf arf arf. The wizard without any whizz. Maybe.

'Whatever is done for love is beyond good and evil.' Hmmm...First, try define Love.  What do you seek? Happiness and learning, Freedom and magick...Balance?   Between the I and the AM, there sparks the relay of Will and vision and so, creation. 'Not until the male become female and the female becomes male shall ye enter the kingdom of Heaven, Jesus (Yeshua ben Yosif) in the Gospel of Thomas....So, All together now..Yod-He-Vau-He...(To couples too withdrawn to truly open their hearts, fearing pain or too guilty to express their inner nature to their partner or themselves.) Sex without true passion leads to orgasm but without connection by those who have been taught or who have learned to be afraid of love. Chasing orgasms is a fraction of the colossal energy and brain change possible. When Earth blends with Heaven, the astral is born and all take on aspects of the other, empowering all. Merge the fields, unify the forces and don't rush before the fields are charged. Open and focus.

I read in the New York Times today about various problems with tumblr...would be a pity if it vanished. All I have seen in the years I have been on, has been of far more heart and good spirited humour and care than other sources of individual expression on line for free.  All the best back to school...All Hail Discordia and see you with Love at Halloween. Snowfall (S01E01) Pilot Airdate: July 5, 2017 @fxnetworks Ratings: 1.361 Million :: 0.58 18-49 Demo Share Score: 7/10 **********SPOILERS BELOW********** The biggest and best thing 'Snowfall' has going on for it right off the bat, is that people really WANT it to succeed. That means no matter what really went down or how they moved the specific puzzle pieces, arranging them to get the series to where it needs to be to move forward, people were always going to embrace it (well, almost anything). Not that 'Snowfall' needs all the blind enthusiasm it's been been getting since the first teaser trailer hit the internet... It seems to be doing just find without all of the overeager fanfare. The series itself isn't exactly breaking the mold, but it is moving right into place where busting through a glass ceiling is totally possible, just by creating the 'real deal', throwback South Central LA. It's simple really, elementary even, and that's all it needs to be... The background is set, Los Angeles 1983. Cocaine has hit an all time high. Shit is so deep, DEA agents are having hookers blow cocaine up their ass through a straw, much like the wild parties I witnessed (and *possibly * was a part of) in the late 90's... Except we used Ecstasy, MDMA... Cocaine is so 'Moreish', fiendish, if you will. Ecstasy is so... 'Let me open that door for you! OMG you're so soft!' While Cocaine is all, "I should buy a boat!" Straight from the hood, Frankie (Damson Idris) hits up high end parties in swanky homes around LA... He's the weed guy, at least for now. When he hits up a friend, or recurring customer's party and they run out of coke, the rich kids are too afraid to hit up the Israeli Gangster Avi Drexler (Alon Aboutboul)... So send the black guy, right? No fear and all. Interesting to think of it in those terms because despite being of color in 1983, Frankie has managed to rise above the nasty head of expectations for a young man like him, coming out of the type of 'closed door' hellhole environment a 'hood' creates. Frankie is savvy, smart, and ultimately likable... But everything he's achieved, he's had to work twice as hard for. Even though technically striking up a deal like the 'front' he made with Drexler isn't exactly legal... It's still incredibly smart, yet at the same time incredibly stupid. I guess it all depends on how you look at it, and I prefer to see Frankie dipping his toes in both pools. It might not be the smartest move considering how much he's achieved and how intelligent the kid truly is, but all good tales take wrong turns... At least the ones worth telling do. Frankie isn't one of the main protagonists in 'Snowfall' because he's a good decision factory. However, it will be a fun and exhilarating trip to see Frankie maneuver and squirm himself out of slippery situations, and judging by the pilot there will be LOTS of close calls and high tension in Frankie's future. Frankie isn't the only set of eyes we are seeing this vivid, sun-drenched, hazy neon world full of mountains of white powder & rocks, aged to perfection with sepia soaked tones. We have a young, 28-year old CIA Agent, Carter Hudson (Teddy McDonald) who's pulled into an inside job via BIG GOV to keep powder flowing like the inside of a baby's rashy crack (a word that will come into play soon enough)... And after his friend dies in the most unfortunate and unconventional manners (keep it classy, guys, dying with a coke full of straw up your ass isn't exactly dying with dignity), he's left to clean up the mess and a whole hot tub full of the finest coke the Westside of Mississippi to distribute. Let us not forget the 1983 version of Rey Mysterio, only not as popular, Gustavo 'El Oso' Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta)... He's working his way up the chain because his real dream is failing. The latter I find one of the most fascinating angles so far, not just because I'm a wrestling fan... But because I know what it feels like to keep kicking at a door and never being fully able to knock it down. Maybe a little money could change that? According to Franklin's Uncle Jerome (Amin Joseph), 'Money ain't nothing but paper with them crackers faces on it'. Doesn't look like Frankie will be getting too much help from his Uncle... Ain't that a shame. All of these men are in unique spaces because they are on their own in one way or another, left with mounds and mounds of cocaine without the faintest as to how to get to get rid of any of it. There's danger around every corner and we have some incredibly compelling characters emerging outside the three main protagonists, who all three sustain convincing, compelling performances both on their own and in various combinations & pairings with their fellow cast members... Connecting them all in some way or another, just begging to be fleshed out. Franklin at least has his Aunt Louie (Angela Lewis), who turns out one of the most provocative performances of the episode. She introduces Frankie to an 'old pal' who takes a bit of convincing to take the deal. Even in 1983, showing up on someone's doorstep you haven't seen in awhile, especially if you have done them dirty in any way shape or form, with a kilo of coke isn't necessarily the idea of the situation... But it certainly hammers home the desperation of the situation, and 'Snowfall' uses that desperation, that intensity to its advantage. This one could be a lot of fun, but it's going to have to grow into itself and prove to be something separate from the rest of the pack. I got money on it.

Palm Sunday-- 11:15 am.  sunny day - my house guests just left - UBER lo and behold did come in five minutes. I just did get an email reminding me to be more careful in regard to what I say about people - and any and all whom I offend - please forgive this old hen here - and you all know I do struggle not to be offensive - also not to turn people off from wanting to read my writing. This avalanche of memoirs written these days - all in the hope of being understood a little better, of being loved a little more? Writers - like everything, there are so many variations on the theme - and of course these modern times where machines - artificial intelligence? - picks up on - say the word Catholic Worker - and then there is this man in Iowa who picks up on every mention - well this is new and I do forget that this is happening and everythin I say here about the Catholic Worker gets registered and who knows, by now I may be totally persona non grata - and I will know when I get cold shouldered - and yes, yes, yes - I should be more careful with what I feed into this here machine. I remember the days in Communist Prague and when I visited my friends would only talk in the park - and human relations had greatly suffered not wanting to share thoughts - many once upon a time friendships cooled to the point of vanishing. Many of us afraid these days - it could happen here - is already happening?

Sigh. And so my friend and his companion have left - enriching my life with their presence - and observer tat I am enjoying to put my observations into words - I will refrain. 

I did also get music to my ears words of appreciation - encouraging me to keep writing - well, it is going on 12 and I do want to make it to central Park today. Earlier two books reviewed in last weeks nyt book review were going through my mind - again self help books I should have written - about how much time and energy you gain by taking cleaning less seriously - by being sloppy - not obsessed with perfection. I have been mentioning Paco, who has died - now it occurred to my his two children are alive, could read this, could object - no one can sue me for money because I do not have any - but there are so many people who love suing - love causing someone trouble - suddenly fears are gripping me. The books also say that it is men who teach women to scale down on cleaning - not that I ever was the greatest cleaner - and grew up in times without washing machines, without running hot water, times when stores were empty - the year I was teaching in Califirnia, 1954-55 - I practically lived in one outfit and was admired for being a beautiful European - the anti shopping movement took a long time to catch up with me. Water shortages may one day reduce the use of washing machines -  many Americans toss things into washing machines hours are wearing them - and they wash and and wash and wash.

Perhaps even writing that might be considered subversive and picked up by only God knows whom. There was an episode in my life when I was hanging out with the squatters when a man on a cold winter day at a political event appealed to me for shelter - it was around Christmas - and I had every indication he was some kind of informer. Should there be an FBI file on me I should be proud of it. Many of my friends proudly go to jail - fear has me made avoid it. Still, you never know what still can happen - be prepared is my motto - and I will keep writing.

By the way - this here house where I live - with all its amenities - is, so I am told - up for sale. Let's see what happens there.

Also - this morning my lower teeth came out - my dentist had hoped I would be good until after Easter - and second cataract op - do have to call tomorrowmorning and press him for some info how I can proceed - must proceed - to the dentures.

Also tomorrow morning Kathy Kelly - whose name I can mention because she very consciously is in the public I - she is starting a fast tomorrow for the Easter Week and will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Isaiah Wall facing the U.N. protesting what is going on in the world. She is thin a s a rail to begin with - has gone on 40 day fasts - gone down to 80 pounds - she is joined by other brave people - all I do is appear - plan to appear - briefly tomorrow morning to express solidarity. I've never been arrested. I have never fasted - I never have made call, written letters - what I have done at demos is to distribute leaflets - I often felt not enough was done of that. 

In a German book - one of those books where people write how they were drawn into the Hitler madness (another book just reviewed about the enormous use of drugs, Bltzed is the title) - the title of the other book just came to me: Judenauto - Jewish car - this man writes about being with his father in a café in Vienna - 1937? - he was 15 or 16 and protestors bursting in with leaflets - his father forbidding him to read it - one of his major memories. I often thought of that giving out leaflets.

So - probably no blog tomorrow morning - hope to see dentist - later at 2:30 eye doctor - then on Tuesday date in Central park at 12:30, I met her long ago, she lives in New Jersey. 

Now still quickly on yesterday - called a friend, to possibly meet - shenot sure - I headed for my library - got there not long after 1 p.m. - the friendlisest of greetings by the librarians, took out a book on Israeli invasion of Lebanon, memoir by man who was a young soldier - headed for reading room - The Nation, long story on Harvard resisting unions - hard work of organizers - tried to nap - friend called - I had left phone on - got some dirty looks - it was 2:15- she said too late to come to Central Park - let's meet in Washington Square - took bus, got there by 3:15 - she, always late - with some people you just have to accept that. A lot of people - always interesting, we stayed for a couple of hours - when I was overcome by fatigue - happens now. She walked me almost home - I had my shot of espresso, and the drops. the eye drops - supposed to do four times a day - hard - also they cost $170 - I am down to two times - watched news, did not eat much - then my friend called and came - she had talked to Iraqui in Finland - he and his son got there soon two years ago - no asylum - the son insists on return to Iraq. Tragic.

She came from an event on West I believe 71st street - a young woman had found there a convent standing empty and turned it into a house of hospitality - interesting people there, yesterday a commemoration of Dan Berrigan - far too many people in my life these days who never have heard of this brilliant and brave Jesuit. Google - if interested.

She stayed a while, then my house guests came back - also from an event - countless, countless events going on in New York.

The drops, some sleep, have bought the Sunday times, hardly looked into it yet - will skip CW Sunday brunch - read a little, rest a little - and head - for what also will be, a crowded Central Park. The Hawk bench - once so central in my life - the hawks have mated once again - closely observed by the serious birders - perhaps I can observe some birders   not sure when you will hear fro me again  adios  Marianne
