Hi! I'm on anon because I'm a little shy. I'm 17 and struggle with incontinence. I relate to a lot of your posts because I am also autistic and incontinent and special needs. I haven't been able to use diapers in my teenage years, sadly. But I have some money right now and can buy my own first adult diapers. Do you have any suggestion for a first adult diaper? A particular brand or something like that? I have heard ABUniverse is good, but I don't have much experience with this and I don't want my experience with it too be a bad one. You mention struggling with incontinence. Have you talked to a doctor just to rule out potential underlaying conditions? I understand how you feel about being super shy because I am super shy myself.

Once you ruled out any potential underlaying causes, if you want to wear adult diapers, there are an incredible selection of great products to consider, depending on what you are looking for in absorbency level, plain white or printed ones, and of course, budget.

Plain white: Northshore MegaMax, AM PM Forsite, NRU Str8up, Incontrol, ABU Simple are in my top suggestions. Abri-Form M4 (Medium) or L4 (Large) are affordable and remains a good classic, one generation behind the newest ones with better absorbency and refastenable tape zone.

If you prefer cloth-like diapers, they let the skin breathe more, but many brands have the same issue with the tendency for diapers and tapes to stretch out and make the diaper become loose and more exposed to leaks.

If you are looking for the RollsRoyce for absorbency, I suggest the Trest Elite diapers. They are the world’s most absorbing diapers without any booster pads or stuffers added. They are expensive, but they are lasting much longer, which means using half of the amount of diapers. At the end, they end up being less expensive than most brand. My only advice would be to always add baby powder in those, and not wear them for longer than 12h when wet because it gets hard in the skin, and it’s better to change frequently and keep a healthy skin with proper hygiene.

If you want printed diapers, all the ABU diapers are very good. Most Rearz ones too, NappiesRus (NRU), Northshore Megamax have cool colours too. Forsite is more affordable, but not easy to get in USA as I heard. My favourite ones might not be other’s favourites. But I personally love the Megamax, Rearz Safari and Alpaca, ABU PeekAbu, NRU str8up blue and lil rascals.

If you are looking for pharmacy diapers, they are not necessarily the cheapest due to the monopoly of Tena on the shelves, offering thin diapers that will suit persons with mild incontinence. Tena is offering much better products in Europe and Oceania than what we find here in North America. Pharmacy brands are generally not the latest generation of diapers. They are handy in case of emergency, far from the best. Tena Super is what seems to be their best, cloth-backed only. The Tena Maxi slip are much better, and they are generally not available in the pharmacies in North America, but they can be ordered online at some incontinence supplies stores.

I suggest that you order directly from companies instead of distributors and resellers for better price.

Today, the market of incontinence supplies and ABDL diapers is blooming! There are so many good diapers, I can’t mention all of them here.

I hope my advices will help you choose the right product that you will like, and will suit you well. At first, I would suggest that you buy samples to compare the fit and comfort because there are some differences from one brand to another.

Pasaron unos meses hasta que era verano, un día recibo la agradable noticia que sería el cumpleaños de mi abuela que vive en Estados Unidos, así que se dispuso por su fiesta a invitarnos a todos para celebrarlo junto a ella.

El día antes de regresarme de viaje yacía en su casa junto a ella solos, cuando suena el timbre, ella es una persona que debido a su obesidad tiene bastante dificultada la movilidad, por lo que siempre accedo a ayudarla en todo. Fui a atender la puerta y cuando la abro un cartero me entrega una gran caja, que no era tan pesada como lo imaginaba.

Se la pongo a mi abuelita en su sala, ella sale y me solicita que le ayuda a abrirla. Agarro un estilete, ¡Zaz! Logrando un recto tajo largo de un extremo al otro de la caja, y para la mayor de mis sorpresas adentro había un enorme y trasparente empaque de pañales turquesa que no disponían de marca. -Abuela… ¿¡Usas pañales?!-. Le dije sorprendido.

De manera avergonzada mientras se tapaba la cara contestaba: -Ay no… no, no son míos, se tuvieron que haber equivocado-. Yo sabía en el fondo que eran para ella, ya que tenía condiciones de salud que delataban o daban la sospecha que ella los requería.

No dudé ni por un minuto en llevar a cabo aquella travesura, así que cuando ella regresó a su cuarto, abrí aquel empaque plástico sin color para agarrar aquel desechable que era de enormes características morfológicas, y de dicho llamativo color. Me metí al baño con una botella de agua, que me la vacié casi enseguida comenzando a sentir abultado mi abdomen dentro de menos de media hora.

Sobre la taza del baño abrí aquel desechable para sentarme sobre él y acto seguido cerrarlo, para ver como este tenía unas tiras muy frágiles, que intuí que no aguantarían más de un “pegue y despegue”, además de ser de una textura muy áspera al tacto, dando la impresión de que me estuviera poniendo una funda plástica, ya que a cada movimiento esta hacia aquel característico ruido. Mi deducción es que los pañales eran costo-efectivos para mi abuela, ya que la calidad no se veía muy buena, pero vino una gran cantidad de aquellos, lo que me daba la impresión que era económicos.

Comencé a liberar el contenido de mi retenedor natural de orina, sintiendo como aquel fluido iba inflando y calentando el enorme pañal que llevaba puesto, empezando a formar grumos causando ciertos apelotonamientos en este desechable, lo cual no distribuía el orine captado de manera uniforme, jamás había usado un pañal de características similares, era muy endeble, haciendo que el algodón absorbente de este no sea firme, si no que se movía de acuerdo al movimiento.

El hecho de estar usando aquel desechable que era de mi abuela, me prendió un montón dando rienda a mis deseos de manera silenciosa, mientras veía con mis audífonos un video de adultos, sobre mujeres teniendo el mismo acto que yo, frotándose en un pañal.

Después de liberar aquella tensión acumulada, lo boté al basurero del baño, ya que al mi abue usarlos, no sería sospechoso que encuentren un desechable ahí. De este evento salió la idea de mi primer libro: “Mi abuela en pañales ¿Y yo?”.

Unas horas más tarde, llegaron mis padres con mi hermano, y el resto de mis tíos, observando todos los presentes el enorme empaque de pañales que habitaba en la mitad de la sala de estar de mi abuela, lo cual todos sin excepción le preguntaron si era de ella, lo cual negó rotundamente.

Regresé a mi ciudad para seguir usando mis Tena Pants cada vez que se me presentaba mi oportunidad, mientras más marcas de pañales probaba, me hacía más diestro en reconocer cuando uno era de buena o de mala calidad. Pero sinceramente ningún pañal de adulto se va a comparar con la tecnología y los beneficios que el de uno de bebé, estos últimos siempre están años luz más avanzados que los de ancianos en todo.

Pasaron unos seis meses, cuando en una noche me topo en Internet, un video donde a una mujer que usaba pañal, le ponían un enema, viendo como a los pocos minutos tenía un resultado satisfactorio que un supositorio me daba en más de una hora. Así que comencé a investigar aquellos, instruyendo que se usa para limpiezas del colon, y que ocasionan una respuesta más severa, abrupta y explosiva que los supositorios. Me llamaba la atención, más que todo, el poco tiempo de acción que requerían estos para dejar un desechable hecho un total desastre.

Semanas después seguí usando pañal tipo braga hasta que se me agotaron y tuve que requerir comprar otros, quería seguir experimentando con distintas marcas, pero quería uno de tiras, así que averigüé en la web con que marcas aun no me había deleitado para probar alguna. Cuando se me presentó mi oportunidad de soledad, pedí unos Plenitud Classic en la única talla que habia, que era la G, junto con dos enemas, que no usé esa noche porque aún carecía de valor para lanzarme a intentarlo. Pero esa noche si los mojé, aunque no llegó a mayores.

Menos de un mes después vino mi abuelita la que vivía afuera a visitarnos, por el motivo de que me graduaba de la secundaria y ella quería presenciar aquel logro. En mi mente al recibir esa noticia solo una sola palabra pasó por mi mente, “¡Pañales!”.

En años recientes, algunos directores le han dado una nueva vida al género de terror. Género que ha sido explotado de manera exponencial, en donde poco a poco fue perdiendo el hilo del terror como tal. Y se dio lugar al susto fácil, a las tramas repetitivas, algunos remakes que no funcionaron y muchas producciones endebles, en donde poco procuraban construir una buena historia, personajes bien estructurados y momentos memorables. 

Dentro de esta oleada de nuevos directores que han recuperado el género se encuentran: Rob Zombie (The Lords of Salem, 2013, Robert Eggers (The Witch, 2015), Jordan Peele (Get Out, 2017), David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, 2014), y Ari Aster, de quien ya he escribí sobre su segunda película Midsommar (2019), y está vez toca hablar de su ópera prima: Herditary.

Todo inicia un día después de la muerte de la madre de Annie Graham quien junto a su esposo Steve, son padres de Peter un chico adolescente y de Charlie una chica unos años menor que su hermano. A partir de este suceso, la familia se envuelve en un aura de intensos problemas familiares, caos, discusiones y constantes reproches internos por parte de Annie. Cuando Peter decide ir a una fiesta y es obligado a llevar a su hermana con él, de regreso, sucederá un evento que marcará a todos en esta gran pesadilla, en donde un ente desconocido los asechará en cualquier momento, dentro de sus sueños, y en plena cordura.

El título de la película es una muy buena referencia a lo que internamente se vive en los primeros minutos de la película, todos son parte de una: herencia. No material, sino, espiritual, tal vez, psicológica. Annie interpretada de maravilla por una de mis actrices favorita, Toni Collette, es constantemente golpeada por sus pensamientos y recuerdos acerca de su difunta madre, que en un momento asegura que su madre no deseaba tener una niña sino un chico, y por lo tanto, toda su vida vivió con constantes rechazos, y negativas.

Él núcleo de la familia es muy importante en el cine de Ari Aster, previamente en el año 2011, en su cortometraje The Strange Thing About the Johnsons, aborda por completo como sería si un miembro de ellos rompe con esta barrera natural que mantiene a todos en cierta armonía, y normalidad ante la sociedad. Aster, usa este recurso no solo para aplicar drama al filme, sino como un presagio de lo que tal vez, conlleve esta “maldición” familiar.

Siendo su ópera prima, Ari Aster impacta poderosamente sobre el espectador en lo visual, no llegando a lo gráfico, pero si a momentos que incomodan, tenemos escenas de horror corporal, escenas en donde la tensión cambia de un momento a otro, sucesos en donde se evoca a los principios religiosos de la familia y que aun con esto, aquella cosa que los acecha sigue sin siquiera inmutarse un poco. Incluso aquí, el terror se da a plena luz del día, que esto lo veremos también en su segundo largometraje.

Hereditary es terror puro de principio a fin. He vuelto a esta película una buena cantidad de veces y nunca defrauda, siempre termino con esa sensación que debería causar una buena película de terror.
