did you know that in one of dorm epel's voicelines he mentions he once got lost in pomefiore and ended up in a creepy basement. it's never mentioned again or given any clarification and i think about it every day

that comes up a couple of times actually! there's just like...a weird creepy dungeon slash old alchemy lab that the Pomefiore castle was built on top of. I think Vil might use it sometimes? but really it serves absolutely no purpose beyond the characters every once in a while being like "oh yeah, there's that secret underground laboratory we all apparently know about" and then never elaborating on it at all.

(I know it's a movie reference, but it's still pretty wild to just. in-universe have a not-so-secret basement alchemy dungeon that never has any relevance beyond a couple of throwaway lines. what other buckwild secrets does NRC hold that the characters just never talk about for some reason)

Thank you for tagging me <3 I love posting these things, they actually show how much work you do to create something, it's not just cut out a scene from a show and it suddenly becomes a perfect gif, you actually have to do so much to make it look nice. Lately I experiment a lot with sharpening, and I realized I do not have specific settings for it now, I just go and use whatever I think suits my gif atm. Same goes for colorings, I prefer to create a coloring from a scratch for each gif, that way you don't have to fix whatever went wrong when you just used psd on a different scene :D

I've set up my parents' new robot vacuum for them, linking it to its app on my phone. Given the opportunity to name it, "Daniel Jackson" seemed appropriate. My mother doesn't like sci-fi as a genre and has never seen Stargate, but delights in calling the vacuum by its full name.

I delight in the constant notifications I receive, while it's attempting to map the house, insisting that Daniel Jackson needs attention.

I've probably seen "Grace Under Pressure" at least a dozen times, but this time it really stuck with me that the episode is Rodney's argument with himself about whether or not he can trust other people. He doesn't summon the hallucination of Carter for her brain, or her body, but, as he eventually admits, for her wisdom. He doesn't need her to point out science things to him, or remind him he's "petty, arrogant, [and] bad with people." He needs her to remind him that being on a gate team is a contract of not giving up on each other whatever craziness you find yourself facing- a reminder he probably very much needed after repeated failures earlier in the season to bring Ford back into the fold, on top of his usual pessimism in dire situations.
