Nothing Happens by Michelle and Uri Kranot from Michelle & Uri Kranot on Vimeo.
It is freezing cold on the outskirts of town. Yet people gather. I watch them form a row across the horizon. We all wait for something to happen. However, nothing does…
NOTHING HAPPENS offers a new way of looking. It is about spectatorship - about watching and being watched. It is about being present.

FRAMES PER SECOND
PERSISTENCE OF VISION
TASK
For this week, I’ll need to research and look into numerous animation styles and animators. I’d like to choose an animator with an interesting life story, particularly with a style I wouldn’t typically consider as an inspiration; truly out of the box.
Whilst we’ve been given a plethora of resources to sift through, I’ll still need to seek out a variation of artists to take inspiration from. I’ll document the resources here, but append the blog with my own findings and why I’ve considered my choices.
ANIMATION MEDIUMS
We were given multiple and varied examples of animated movies.
2D Hand Drawn (On Paper)
On Melancholy by Hannah Jacobs
2D Hand Drawn (Digitally)
A Little too Much by Martina Carpell
Paper Cut Out Animation
Paper Plane by Gianluca Maruotti
Stop Motion Animation (Puppets)
Chipotle: Back to the Start by Johnny Kelly
Stop Motion Animation (Objects)
Dimensions by Jan Svankmeyer
Paint on to Live Action / Rotoscoping
White Tape by Michelle & Uri Kranot
Paint onto Live Action / Rotoscoping
Kiss the Water by Em Cooper
