Got a new phone but I'm feeling so lazy to learn how different phones work lmao

a friend and us were talking, and through some logical deduction, we figured out what each Phantom Thief was *likely* using for a phone.

We didn't take physical appearance into account - only general character knowledge and market conditions at the time.

The iPhone had 65% market share in Japan in 2016, so largely, we presume most members of the PTs were using iPhones, being high school students and all.

Joker: iPhone 5s Released in late 2013. Would've still been plenty fast for 2016, but would've looked a bit dated.

Ryuji: iPhone 6 Probably has it on a contract. Released late 2014. Good enough, not warranting the upgrade to an iPhone 6S.

Ann: iPhone 6 Plus Wanted the big iPhone. Probably has the rose gold model.

Yusuke: Some cheapo no-name phone from a drugstore We're not convinced this guy doesn't just use a cheap pay-as-you-go phone from someone like Motorola or ZTE or something.

Makoto: Samsung Galaxy Note3 The productivity-focused phone, but out of date - a hand-me-down from Sae, who is probably using the Note5.

Futaba: Sony Xperia Z5 Too much of a nerd to be using an iPhone in 2015/2016. The best of the best of Sony's lineup that year (second in market share, only to Apple), and still has a headphone jack, which we think she'd want.

Haru: iPhone 6s Plus The latest, highest-end iPhone at the time. She's rich, come on.

Sumire: iPhone 4 She's constantly complaining about her phone dropping connection randomly, and acting up. The iPhone 4 would have been about 6 years old at the time of P5, and it also had a fatal flaw where it would lose connection if you held it the wrong way.

Akechi: iPhone 7 Plus Futaba makes an off-hand comment about having the a super new phone with new bells & whistles in November. The iPhone 7 Plus released in September 2016, so it stands to reason that Akechi was probably using it. He was probably using a burner phone for the Meta-Nav and Shido communications, though.

ngl the most recent episode wasnt the best out of the 3 so far tbh but it wasnt horrible probably give it like a 6 or 7 out of 10 i also like how they do the credits over the episode it gives them more of the episode to do but also ends in a way thats still very “aqua teen” if that makes sense

also wish they did more with them out in the country and like maybe doing something at a regular cabin instead of the robot in disguise ((which ik was the joke/point of how it ended)) but still that wouldve been really wholesome

i have a pixel and I need to upgrade cause my phone is getting old. do u recommend I get an iPhone ? I'm tempted just bc of the camera (Idk why but I feel like I come out better on iPhone pictures 😂). But also, I don't want to get a phone that will die on me in like 2 years , and that's what iphones usually do (most of my family have iphones and they need a new one in like 2 years)

i can't speak to the whole apple vs android thing bc i went from blackberry (it was 2010) to iphone and haven't looked back since but i will say. i've never had an iphone that i haven't damaged in some way just straight up stop working within 2 years lmao like it DOES slow down somewhat after that long bc apple keeps releasing new phones that come with new software that doesn't run so well on older models??? but i lent my mom an iphone 7 from 2016 and it still works idk !! i'd say ask someone that is not me i don't actually know like. what i'm talking abt LMAO

"I wonder what that was all about." Lucas says, placing a card down

"She must be a freshman for coming at you like that." He laughs

Jungkook just looks at his friend, smiling a little before placing his card down

"She seemed to want more than just a new phone." Baekhyun continues from the edge of the couch

"And she's very aggressive for such a small girl."

"Yeah, well who wouldn't want to make up any excuse to talk to me?" Sehun smiles cockily

"Have you seen me?"

"Don't get your underwear tied in a knot, hyung." Lucas lets out one more laugh

"You're not the only handsome guy in this school, ya know." He sniffs, grabbing a new card from the deck

"Plus, I could already tell she's too woman for you anyways." He teases

Sehun frowns a bit before grabbing a pillow and throwing it his way, messing up the deck of cards

"You have some nerve talking to me like that, you know." He says in anger and the three boys do nothing but laugh at him

"Don't worry, Sehunnie, we'll get you loosen up at the party tonight." Baekhyun smiles, jumping off and now at his side

He places a hand on his shoulder before continuing

"I heard there will be a lot of people coming." He smiles

"I told everyone on the invitations to bring their own bottle."

"It's the party of the year." Sehun sighs contently, leaning back on the couch

"This is our last year, therefore we have to make it memorable."

"Ah, and who doesn't enjoy another classic F4 party, really?" Lucas replies, helping Jungkook fix Sehun's mess

"I wonder what crazy happenings are going down this time."

"Sadly, it can't be that kind of party this time around." Sehun groans now sitting back up

"The only downside of it being our last year is that it has to be as mature as possible." He says, fixing his button up

"Otherwise, how else is my mom supposed to trust me with the family business later on?"

"What are you implying?" Lucas asks

"A tea party?"

"Better than that, actually." Sehun smiles

"I asked some of my moms colleagues to send over a few bottles of their most expensive wine."

He lets out a light content sigh

"We, my friends are flashing out tonight."

Lucas and Jungkook smile at each other as Baekhyun just scoffs a little, fixing his position

"Jungkook-ah!" Sehun calls over at his friend

"You're still free to pick up the desserts with me, right?"

"I can't today." Jungkook calmly responds, shuffling the cards beneath him

"I'm actually busy around that time."

"What's more important than the preparation of the last F4 party?" Sehun asks slightly offended and Jungkook does nothing but place the cards aside before standing up

"I'm buying a new phone for a friend." He replies, having everyone look at him in shock

"Are you talking about that freshman from before?" Sehun asks

"You know she could just be lying, right? What if she just accused me to get an upgrade or something?"

Jungkook remains calm, placing his hands in his pant pockets before lending a warm smile his way

"If that's the case- no offense hyung but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't go out of her way to confront you." He teases, walking away when Sehun sits up to watch him leave

"Even if-" He calls out

"Why would you help someone you don't even know?" He then questions, having Jungkook stop in his tracks for a bit

"Someone has to prove that we're not all assholes in this group, hyung." He scoffs before fully exiting

Sehun lets out a frustrated sigh, sitting back on the couch

He then looks up to see the other two boys joining in on the laugh before getting angrier and throwing another set of pillows their way

Chelsy looks at the shiny device through the case in awe

She lets herself become lost with thoughts on how amazing it would be to actually own something so valuable

Jungkook stares at her from a distance before walking up and leaning over close next to her so that they were both looking at the same phone

"Is that the one you want?" He asks curiously, turning his face to look at her

Chelsy turns to face him too but suddenly jolts at how close their faces were

She quickly stands up, taking a few steps back

"The new iPhone 12?" She asks, letting out a small laugh

"Why would I want such an expensive phone? I was barely able to afford the 7 when it came out."

"Isn't that why you were looking at it?" Jungkook then questions and Chelsy tried to quickly think of an excuse

"Well I mean, yeah-" She scoffs a bit

"It's the iPhone 12! but-"

"But?" Jungkook interrupts with a childish smile

"What's the problem, freshy?"

"Jungkook, I can't have you buy me a brand new phone." She sighs

"Especially that one."

"Weren't you the one who brought it up?" Jungkook asks

Chelsy fidgets with her hands nervously in response

Why was it so hard to talk to this boy without being scared of saying something completely stupid?

"I-" she pauses

"I mean yeah, but I didn't think you'd be serious-"

"Ah, that's the thing with a lot of you freshman." Jungkook smiles

"You haven't learned to be a person of your word."

He pushes her head a little

"You'll get the hang of it soon."

Chelsy looks at him in his eyes, feeling butterflies instantly inside her stomach

She fidgets with her hands beneath her a little more, trying to think of something clever to say back

Jungkook seemed to notice, letting out a small laugh

He then walks up close to her, grabbing her hand and leading her towards the counter

Chelsy quickly tried to pull away, but it was too late as they were already at the register

"We'll take the new iphone 12, please." He smiles as the girl behind the counter just blushes a bit before typing stuff on the computer before her

"Jungkook, really-" Chelsy tries to say

"I could just save up to buy another iPhone 7."

She tries to stop him, but suddenly held her breath when Jungkook's  face was yet again inches away from hers

"Why would you save up to buy the same phone?" He asks and this time Chelsy couldn't find the words to say

Jungkook smiles at how flustered he was making her before standing up fully and looking back at the worker

"Here you go, sir." The girl smiles, sliding the box across the counter

Jungkook sends a small smile back, reaching for his wallet when the girl immediately stopped him

"Sir, you and your family have done so much for us already, please just take it as a gift." She laughs

"I can't have you pay for anymore of the products, your help is already valuable enough."

Jungkook continues to smile at the cashier before bowing in respect and placing his wallet back into his pocket

"Thank you, miss." He replies

"I will be sure to tell my mom about the amazing business here."

"Thank you so much, sir." The girl scoffs through a blush, giving him a small bow

"You and your friends have a wonderful day, okay?"

"You too." Jungkook smiles once more, grabbing the box and handing it to Chelsy next to him, who was just watching in shock- trying to wrap her head around everything that was happening

"Okay how in the hell did you manage to do that?" Chelsy asks as the two made it out of the store and back into the mall

"My parents own all of the cell phone stores out here." Jungkook replies, looking ahead with a smile

"And before you ask, yes, including apple products." He explains

"My mom is the CEO."

Chelsy stares at the boy in amazement

'No wonder they're the talk of the school.' She thinks to herself

'They have a bigger impact than I thought.'

The two began to walk in silence as all Chelsy could do was admire the boy next to her

She took in most of his features, smiling to herself as she notices his tall stance to the way his hair looked so-

Soft and elegant

She would've never thought boys that looked like that would go to her school, let alone exist

Boys like this only happened to be true in the fantasy world (lmao)

In the middle of her thoughts, she notices Jungkook stopping them both to sit down on a nearby bench

He pats the space next to him, motioning her over to sit, in which she hesitantly applied

She lets out a soft sigh, looking straight ahead at the random people passing by and avoiding eye contact (though from the side of her eye, she could tell he was looking at her)

They stay in that position for what felt like forever when Chelsy was snapped back in the moment by Jungkook nudging her arm

"Hey-" He says

"You gonna open it?"

He head motions towards the freshly sealed box in her lap

Chelsy blinks a little

"Right here? now?"

Jungkook looks at her for a moment before replying

"Well, when did you think is a good time?" He asks and Chelsy suddenly felt her nerves take over her again

"I just thought, maybe in a more private place?" She suggests

Jungkook continues to look at her with no emotion before shrugging

"Okay." He answers

"We'll go to my house then." He nods

"Shall we?"

He sends her a look, about to get up when Chelsy was quick to pull him back down

"Wait!" She exclaims

Jungkook just stays there, looking at her

She gulps a little, sitting there for a bit before noticing she was still holding onto him

"I could open it here." She says nervously, quickly letting go of his arm

Jungkook lets out a content smile, fixing his sweater before turning his body to face her in a more comfortable position

"Go on." He replies, resting his chin on his palm

Chelsy looks at him, trying to keep her heart rate down as she slowly takes off the plastic of the box, opening it up

All of her nerves slowly flushed away as her focus was now on the brand new phone in her hands

She carefully lifts the device out of the box, letting out a happy smile

"I never would've thought I'd get it!" She laughs, still amazed by how shiny and smooth it was

"I thought only like- super rich or famous people get these."

"They do." Jungkook jokes, having Chelsy roll her eyes at him before going back to her new phone

Jungkook smiles to himself as he watches the girl admire the screen

He then sits up completely, grabbing her attention

"You're gonna need protection on that, you know."

He pulls out a clear case from his pocket and hands it her way

"You bought me a phone case too?" She laughs

"Why?"

"Just in case you get this one stepped on as well." Jungkook smiles

"Who knows what will happen to this phone in the hands of such a clumsy girl?"

Chelsy pushes him playfully as the two let out a shared laugh

She then takes the phone case from Jungkooks hand, excitingly placing her new phone inside

She admires it once more before looking back up at the boy

"Thank you." She smiles

"It's the least I could do." Jungkook replies with a small smile

"But I'm gonna need a favor back."

Hearing those words made chelsy do a double take

"A favor?" She repeats, feeling her heart begin to race as the two meet eyes

"You think I just give phones out for free?" He asks, cocking his head a little

He then leans over close to her and Chelsy couldn't help but shut her eyes tightly, not knowing what was about to come

Jungkook looks at her for a few seconds before laughing to himself- and next thing Chelsy knew- the phone was out of her hands

She opened them to see Jungkook already typing on the device

"I'm gonna need to be the first contact on your new phone." He says, smiling some more before handing it back to her

Chelsy lets out a laugh out of embarrassment as her cheeks turn a slight shade of pink

Jungkook pauses, raising an eyebrow

"Did you think I was talking about something else?" He asks, now intrigued at how red she was turning

"No!" Chelsy quickly shakes her head

"I was just- it was--" She tries to explain and Jungkook just sits up, watching in amusement

"Did you want a kiss, freshy?" He then asks, now having Chelsy's face turn from pink to flushed red

"What!" She exclaims

"No- I- that's not-"

She starts to stumble on her words and Jungkook couldn't help but let out another laugh

"Ah, I'm just playing with you." He pushes her, now sitting back up again

"I would never kiss someone I just met." He admits

"Especially you, freshy."

Jungkook forms a small smirk across his face before continuing

"Well, Ms. Chelsy-"

He lets out a small sigh and just hearing her name out of his mouth made her want to melt

The boy then turns her way again

"Are you free tonight?"

Chelsy furrows her eyebrows a bit in confusion

"I'll take that as a yes." He answers for her

"Text me your address." He says

"I'll pick you up at about eight."

"For what?" Chelsy finally asks

"Where are you taking me?"

Jungkook smiles a bit before replying

"F4 is having our annual party tonight." He explains

"I suggest you wear something fancy and expensive- you know, considering you own the new iPhone and all."

Chelsy tries to hold in a smile out of excitement before brushing it off

"What if I don't want to go?" She asks

"I don't feel comfortable going to some party with a guy I barely know."

Jungkook thinks a little, then sending another smile

"Okay." He nods

"Then bring your two friends and I'll pick you three up at eight."

He looks at her

"Anything else?"

Chelsy just stares at him in admiration at how he always seemed to have a solution to every problem she throws at him

Instead of responding with a simple 'no', Chelsy just shook her head in defeat, having Jungkook let out a soft laugh

"Good." He replies

"Let's go."

He then stands up and Chelsy was instantly by his side

"Hey!" She frowns, pulling his arm and spinning him around to face her

As they met eyes, Chelsy could feel her heart race again

The two just stand there in the middle of the walkway, looking at each other

"I'm taking you home now, miss." Jungkook smiles

"Unless you have another place you want to go to?"

Chelsy shakes her head once more as Jungkook lets out a soft hum, turning around and walking away

Chelsy stands there for a bit, watching his figure and smiling to herself

She continues to watch in awe before snapping herself out of the moment and running up to his side

Note 8 or iPhone ?!

hey guys! i really need your help bcos i can’t decide which phone to get. i badly need a new one so pls bear with me ><

so what i’m looking for for a phone is something i can use in the long run. meaning, it wouldn’t lag after a year or two. and with amazing memory capacity. good camera quality too!

Note 8 (+) as an internal memory of 64gb (plus SD card slot) and it’s camera is beyond amazing. and you can customize it (-) what i’m worried of is it’s operating system. i know android releases newer version every 10 seconds (sarcastic). i’ve been using android and the system update is very limited. like for example i have android 6, i can only upgrade it to 6.9 and that’s it. i can’t upgrade it to android 7 and beyond. which really sucks bcos almost every app updates as well and sometimes they leave out older versions of android. there. that’s my main worry. that is btw based from the phones i had. now if i’m wrong pls explain to me how it works 

iPhone, i’d go for 7 plus. i really love iOS’ interface, love how it updates the operating system for older phones. it’s camera is good too. (-) i’m only worried of the memory. i can only afford 128gb (I NEED TO SAVE MONEY FOR CONCERTS!) and i download sorta tons of apps (which is less severe now btw).

reason why im not getting 8 is bcos wtf it’s back is also glass, that’s an extra worry for me! and definitely not X (bcos that sht is so expensive lmao AND NO HOME BUTTON ?! i know note 8 does not have any too but still) 8 do not have a lot of upgrade from 7, like their camera features is the same except 8 has better color tone (which is pretty useless bcos you can edit photos with filters lol) for a huge price difference (here in my country) so i’d go for 7 plus instead

logged onto my laptop for the first time in months and once again i’ve had to catch myself mid-screen tap when using it lmao. using a mouse is just exhausting for me now ugggh. touchscreens have ruined me.

anyway, apparently i haven’t connected my phone to itunes since 2016. XD that’s pretty much when i first got it i believe....

but yeah only connected it to the laptop because my parents are gonna set me up with a new iphone (my iphone 5 is actually a hand-me-down from mom after she upgraded to the 6). i’ll be getting the iphone 7 plus, which is quite the upgrade from the smol little 5. xD i’m both nervous and quite excited. it’ll be nice to not have to squint at my instagram feed (which is so much nicer to use on the phone than the ipad).

hopefully we’ll be getting the phone tomorrow (well...later today). i got a case already ordered from redbubble and should have that in a week or two. probably will get some random case from the store as a placeholder until it does come in. i’m not crazy clumsy with my phone usually, but always good to be safe. xD but yeah the case has hiei on it and it’s gon be great. 8D

but yeah i’m pretty excite! my 5’s battery has been degrading for a while now and it’s just...so smol. too small for me. xD; it’s been a great little device though! still works pretty smoothly, so i imagine if someone replaced its battery it’d keep trucking along for a couple more years, but i’m definitely ready to move on. xD

Today is 28th January..

..which means I officially left the UK 5 months ago today. So yeah, my plan of writing everyday hasn’t exactly gone to plan.. in my defence, when we first arrived it was a fucking bitch trying to get VPN sorted on my Macbook so I didn’t end up using it for like a month. And then when it was sorted, I was like maybe it’s too late now..

But fuck that I wanna write so I will write!! But first, a runthrough, month by month, of what has happened so far:

August/September:

Me and Ella arrived 29th August and me being me decided after travelling for 26+ hours to get trashed in Talking with Heli, James, Nick and Lawrence and then ended up not even staying in my own room on my first night here lmao. And finding out all the drama that happened between Em, James and Abbie, I should have realised that these events were probably going to foreshadow the general vibe of the year hahahaha. DRAMA.

Arriving at Shanghai after a 12 hour flight from Heathrow and it then taking 9 hours to get from Shanghai to Nanjing. And being 累死了 and everything being hot and stressful. And having a random man on the street get us a taxi cos we had no idea what we were doing lol. And NONE of the taxi drivers at 南京南站 taking us cos we had too much luggage like FUCK YOU 操你妈. BITCH. My fucking 50kg+ of luggage has now essentially doubled and I’m wondering how much I can pay to hire someone for the day to carry it all for me on the way home lol.

Broke up with Adam. Long time coming. Didn’t go well. Proceeded to remove him from every social media and block his number. Overreacted slightly.. but whatever. Just hope he can find someone new and TREAT THEM BETTER. Lovely lovely man but so clueless maximum.. thanks for teaching me all the Singlish though babe hahahah. Wish him all the best.

Started class and quickly realised that starting class at 8am is HARD, UNPLEASANT and IRRITATING. Class fucking sucks and it’s boring, Kouyu is bearable because our 70-year-old teacher essentially just talked and 对不对’d the entire time. And also grilled Knarik at every possible opportunity about Armenia and it’s people and it’s GENOCIDE. Fucking Chinese have zero tact whatsoever lmao. Zonghe can fuck off and die, the content is dull and although 陈老师 is cute and pretty and looks like SinB from GFriend, she’s a shit teacher. Tingli is the absolute fucking worst because it’s SO FUCKING BORING. The only thing I can remember is legit “孙儿”, and 安然 is mouthy little bitch with an attitude problem like fuck off don’t fucking patronise me you’re like 24. Cunt. The only positive thing to note is that we essentially did zero work and attended like 50% of class and still got wonderful grades because we all cheated on our exams. Sorry bout it :)

Aron was here for like 3 weeks and then left to go back to Korea which was the fucking best thing ever because I got my big ass room all to maself yeeeeeee. And he was nice don’t get me wrong!! But boring as fuck lol and never left the room and I swear for like the whole time I never stayed in the room for like the entire weekend.. cos we were going out Friday and Saturday night every weekend and I just always ended up staying with Em or Ella (and Sophie, sorry forgot you existed you judgemental bore <3).. but then I remember when we went to Shanghai in October I was expecting him to be home when I was back cos it had been like a month after he left and he said he was only going for a month.. but then weeks and weeks went on and he never returned!!!! It was HOTTTTTT. Everyday was so so so hot. On one of the first days here, I remember we went to ICBC to sort our bank accounts, and I was wearing my white Vans top. And I was still fake tanning. And I sweated.. and my top fucking turned ORANGE. So I had to walk in like 35 degrees heat with my backpack on my front to cover up the fact that I was essentially melting. I stopped tanning soon afterwards.

Dyed my hair for the first time ever!! First was like ugly brown/red then just got darker and darker until was black and now I decided black suits me best so will continue to dye black. black black black black.

Got iPhone 7 because I am 小公主 spoiled little bitch maximum. :)

October

We went to Shanghaiiiiiiiiii for the first time!! It was soooo fun. Girls weekend Girls DAY PARTY~~~!! The airbnb we stayed at was beautiful but expensive. And then we went out on the Friday night and Em got fucking slapped in the face by some Chinese guy like wtf. Screaming “Angela.. ANGELA!!!” as it happened lmao. And then trying to defuse the situation and the guys started trying it on with me lmao bye. Other highlights include me and Heli being so drunk that we cried in the street cos no one would have sex with us :(

Halloween was fun.... was it? I can’t really remember. I looked good though lol, and I started wearing circle lens again.. now wear everyday and feel v ugly without lol, the struggle.

Heartache with Adrian and decided around this time that I don’t like men and don’t want a boyfriend for a long while now..

November

November was a weird month.. probably the lowest month I’ve had here and probably will have here. Hopefully. Started to really miss home and just felt frustration of class, mundane life and being tired all the time. Lowest point crying to Em in my room cos my power was off. Glad to be out of the dip though now.

November was like actually really boring, like I can’t remember much of what happened. A lot of drinking. A lot of 1912 several times a week lol. I’d kill for 煎饼 right nowwww~~

December

Exams started and everyone panicked but we ended up cheating anyway and getting great results lmao, so it’s led me to believe that I’ll put in even less effort next semester.

Fucking off the class meal after exams had finished and being questioned why we (Me, Ella, Em, Junyoung) didn’t attend and having to skirt around the obvious answer of “you’re all a bunch of cunts”.

We went to Shanghai again, this time Me, Ella, Nick, Em and James. Getting James to come was like pulling teeth as per usual but then when he did he seemed to have a good time. 

Christmas in China wasn’t too enjoyable because I had the FUCKING FLU. Seriously it was like the worst I’ve felt in years, never will complain about others being sick again lol. Went for the worst Christmas dinner of my entire life at the Australian restaurant and then the bitch wanted us to pay 220块 for the dinner each. Needless to say wasn’t having it and argued it down to 180 lol, and then went to bed and slept and couldn’t go to Maxim’s party :(

ME AND EM WENT TO KOREA. It was like a dream come true wtf. My 6 year long dream of being a KPOP star was realised and it was perfect and wonderful and COLD but still amazing and I wish I was there right now.. I spent so much fucking money though but whatever, the shopping and the food was all sooooo gooooood. And Junyoung was a great tour guide too. Went to all the sights and met Heejeong, Nahyun and Jaechui on one day. I miss them all so much but especially you, Park Junyoung :( But I will go back definitely, and take everyone else with us next time.

January

Coming back from Korea was a NIGHTMARE. Went outside the airport in 西安 for a cig and then not being allowed back in for 2 1/2 hours. Had to wait in a fucking bus terminal, freezing cold, no phone charge. Flight then delayed even further. Came back to Nanjing with the feel of death v apparent :) and also suffocating on the air because of 5 days in clean, beautiful Seoul~~

Stayed in Nanjing for about a week until me and Ella decided that we couldn’t cope with the cold and the boredom so we booked a holiday to Sanya in 5* hotel and flights for £350!!! Then we we arrived we got fucking upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful. We spent the week just chilling out and the weather was so perfect. So sad to come home but so happy to be reunited with Em, Nick and Heli again :3
