okay i just finished watching up the catalogue and may i say: what a film.

lyndsey marshal was absolutely amazing as hailey- i felt for her the whole film and her ending felt so rewarding. hailey goes through so much and it's such a surreal narrative but i never found myself feeling lost emotionally, and lyndsey handled every twist and turn wonderfully.

similarly, john macmillan as daniel was superb, and the two leads had amazing chemistry in their scenes. daniel was such a terrifying, manipulative presence and the spontaneity of his rage, his blasé attitude and his benevolence made sure he never had the opportunity to become a stagnant villain.

the visuals were all stunning, massive props to production designer lucie red for creating sets that were interesting while also noticeably liminal, this film was so visually stunning

the incidental characters were all also amazing, my particular favourites were jamima hoare, played by absolute comedic powerhouse morgana robinson, dr culpepper, played by shiloh coke as a perfectly believable, suave, con(?) artist and jeremy, played by jonathan bailey who brings his trademark depth and talent to the obsessive WHaM artist.

overall, a 10/10 film, if a bit confusing though that is supposed to be the effect. i definitely forsee some awards in this film's future!!! absolutely worth the £5 for a ticket.

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

SAVOIR FAIRE: I'd worry in Necktie's place, lieutenant can get quite creative with a piece of fabric~ I have seen several cases where people were mixing Electrochemistry and Horrific Necktie and tbf they're pretty easy to mix, but there is a slight difference: EC is your pleasure center which wants you to feel good no matter the source, while Necktie is your imaginary drinking buddy who want's you to party hard like young people do (by getting drunk/hight, sleeping with younger women and doing stupid shit for lulz).

So I'm pretty sure our *bratan* won't be Kim's biggest fan (and vice versa), EC on the other hand…

I did Karaoke for my birthday a bit back and had a lot of fun, so I got to thinking about what songs these two might do, and of course they'd do Pokemon songs! I immediately thought of OK! 2000 for Kabu since the singer screams at the top of her lungs right at the beginning, haha. Larry's voice is softer in Japanese than I expected, so I thought of something a bit quieter for him - Soko ni Sora ga Arukara. It turned out the lyrics for that kind of fit!
