55. anywhere immediately after a really bad fight

Blood splattered the ground, as did the bodies it came from. Nate surveyed the room, listening, waiting for more Clave members to appear out of nowhere. When none showed, Nate knocked absentmindedly on the closet door, eyes still focused on the dead. It was eerily silent now, save for the footsteps he could identify. His ears were almost ringing, blocking out anything unimportant. How they’d infiltrated the area, he didn’t know, but he sure as hell planned to find out.

Beside him, Tessa appeared, footsteps slow as she approached the massacre. The silence continued as they stood there, both catching their breath, disheveled and, in Nate’s case, bloodied. At least she was safe, though. That was all that mattered.

Her hand slipped into his, giving it a gentle squeeze to let him know she was there. He swallowed, then squeezed her hand back. They had to move. His sisters, their family, were out there, and he had to make sure they were okay. Nate couldn’t lose any more of them. They couldn’t lose any more of them. He blinked, trying to bring himself back to the here and now, and turned to Tessa. “Bring Levi out, make sure he keeps his eyes closed until we’re away from this. Then I need you guys to stay close to me until we reconvene with the others, okay?” He leaned forward and pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead. “Stay very close to me.”

When Levi was firmly stuck to Tessa’s side, the three of them made their way toward the door, and out to find the rest of the pack. The ringing in his ears cleared, the stillness of the aftermath over as everything seemed to stop moving in slow motion, and the urgency of the moment returned full force. They couldn’t afford to stay lost in the shock and trauma of it all. It was time to make sure the rest of this scum was taken care of. It was time to keep history from repeating itself.

“Hey, I’m home.” Benjamin announced his presence, as he walked inside his apartment, shutting the door behind him with his foot; since his hands were full, one of them carried a large bag of groceries, and the other was trying to balance a few, quite heavy books. It was almost every day that he came home in such condition, with a large grin plastered upon his lips despite the constant errands he had to run. Yet, it wasn’t every day that Tessa was babysitting, and quite frankly the lovely girl made everything so much easier for him. She was one of the few people he trusted enough to let her babysit his daughter, and today proved to be such a hectic day, that he truly relied on her services. 

Moving further inside, he placed the groceries upon the kitchen counter, while still keeping an eye around for the girls, who seemed to be in Addie’s room, or so he hoped. Perhaps, they could’ve gone out. Either way, once he settled everything, Ben made his way over to his daughter’s room;  his senses picking up their familiar scents almost instantly, before entering the room, “So, this is where you guys have been hiding.” He cracked the door open, and peaked inside; his lips curling into a charming smile, “Did you have fun?”

It was Lizzo. It was goddamn Lizzo. Tobias fist pumped, hollered, whooped, sang, and shook what he was born with. Occasionally he would grind up against Tessa when that flute dropped, hands wavin’ high in the air. Monster Jam was one of his favorite things every year for moments just like this one. Ain’t no party like this kinda party. “How we gonna top Lizzo?” Wait. That came out wrong...or did it? “We can’t just go back to fuckin’ ring tosses after this, I’ll tell you that. We gotta think up somethin’ good.” @untriggeredtessahastings

After trying on what seemed like a hundred tops, Lily was still unsure what to wear. At this rate she would never even make it to the parade and that thought made her moody. She was glad for the knock at her door and she opened it to see her cousin on the other side and a relieved smile was on her lips immediately. “Hi!” Lily squealed when she saw  the most gorgeous top in her hand. “That’s so pretty, please tell me it’s for me. I can’t decide what to wear.” she sighed, opening the door wider to let her in, gesturing to the pile of clothes on her bed.
