This may sound a bit silly, and I apologize if you've gotten this kind of ask before (please feel free to tell me to look for it or link posts if you want; no need for any answer even, there's no pressure), but I think unrecorded deities have been reaching out to me. I'm a bit nervous to reach back because I'm not sure how to verify who they are effectively. I also typically ask the deities I worship for protection, but I feel like that wouldn't be very respectful if the unrecorded deities truly are reaching out, you know? I want to be considerate of the fact that they, themselves, are also deities. Do you have any advice on what I can do to verify them? Do you know of ways to protect myself that wouldn't be seen as disrespectful? If you're unsure, it's totally ok. I appreciate any and all advice you may have, as I've never really encountered this before.
Regardless if you choose to answer, thank you for being here! I love your blog, and whenever I see your posts on my dash, it brings me a smile. Thank you, and take care! c:
Vetting unrecorded entities is very different from vetting recorded ones in my experience, but you can still do it! I've found it to be a much slower, longer process, that you really have to be patient and dedicated for. It's much more about getting to know the entity for who they are as an individual than it is about checking them against known facts. So be prepared to be in for the long haul!
I've written about my methods of vetting entities, both unrecorded and recorded in a couple of places. I have sort of an intro to my process of vetting an unrecorded entity here, it lays out the idea of checking the entity against themselves and looking for internal consistency. I combine this method of getting to know you questions with my note taking methods: Part 1 and Part 2 respectively. By having good notes I can establish that consistency and look for contradictions. Does the entity say something in one visit, and then contradict it the next time I encounter them? To me that's not a reason to cut off contact, but it is something to ask them about. Maybe it's a complicated thing for that entity, maybe there's a story, maybe they're reveling truths bit by bit as they come to trust me. There's a chance they may have lied to me, and I can ask them why. I'm very willing to hear explanations when I'm getting to know a new spirit, and for things to change as I get to know them. Sometimes they are remembering things about themselves as they are telling it to me. This doesn't apply to an unrecorded entity who is a regular spirit who has just never been written down, like a local nature spirit, or an individual one of the Fair Folk, but I've found that working with the really truly ancient spirits that maybe haven't interacted with a human in very long time can be a bit like talking to someone with dementia. I was started working on returning the Forgotten Ones in the same year that I lost my Pop-Pop to Parkinsons, and communicating to them in the begin was a lot like talking to him at the end. They knew who they were, loosely, but the details were foggy and vague, and would sometimes change a bit from visit to visit, like my Pop-Pop remembering my Nona was the most beautiful girl in the world, but not what her name was.
As for asking for protection I'm going to ask you this. Do you think it's disrespectful to ask the recorded entities and deities that you have relationships with for protection? If asking for blessings and protection is part of your normal way of interacting with a recorded deity I think it would be more disrespectful to an unrecorded one if you treated them differently. I don't really have too much to do with recorded deities anymore, but when I did I always made a point to treat them and the Forgotten Ones the same. It was important to me to show both the Forgotten Ones and the recorded deities that they were equal to me, and that the Forgotten Ones weren't different, lesser, or other in any way because of their unrecorded-ness. They were all just spirits in silly hats.
Personally, to be perfectly frank, I don't like relying on outside forces for protection. I've never been one to ask a deity or spirit for protection, it's too reliant on the benevolence of an external being, which could be revoked if a relationship ever soured. So while I think you could ask an unrecorded deity for it, I wouldn't personally recommend it. I would instead recommend coming up with a self reliant method of protection. I prefer wards on my living space and personal shields built into enchanted jewelry for when I leave my warded space, but there are other methods of protection spells out there. You could probably tweak my "Retreat Into Your Shell" Spell to be more general protection, it's sort of geared at emotional protection as designed, if you wanted to! Would just need to swap the herbs and then design your sigil/symbol for what you want.

Lady of Flowers Menu
In our discord group for constructed pantheons we had a little weekly challenge to think about which foods fit with one of your deities. I was reminded of a menu I once saw that someone made for their deity (I think Neptune?) and was inspired to make a little menu of my own.
This is for my Lady of Flowers, Venaris, Queen of Spring, Goddess of flowers, love, and joy
Entree: Bread with floral compound butter [X] Soup: Radish soup with yoghurt [X] Main: Edible flower spring rolls [X] Dessert: Pistacio rose panna cotta tart [X] Palette Cleanser/more dessert because you need it: Edible flower tea popsicles [X]

. : Introduction to the Hidden Grove : .
So I never really connected with any form of fair folk. However, we don’t know much about the nordic elves. This was how I created the idea of the hidden grove.
Most classifications of Fae are good and evil fae. However, since the fae are nature spirits, I never really understood that. So my classifications are the ‘Order Court’ and the ‘Wilderness Court’. They both represent the balance and chaos of nature.
Archelves are the ‘deities’ of this pantheon. They are rulers and have god-like powers. They have attendants who share some influence with them, and children that are heirs to their power.
The Order court represent the laws of nature. They are the balance keepers of the natural world, and are very formal.
The Wilderness court represent the wild sides of nature. They are the ups and downs of the natural world, and can be mischievous.
I’ll be making guides to the archelves, their children, and their attendants and how to work with them! As with many fae-like beings, be sure to use etiquette when interacting with them.
Thanks for reading!
xx

Great Hazanor, God of Heat and Heat Waves, Holy Mirage, Red-Hot Metal and As Watchful as the Sun.
I revere You now in this moment as the sun beats down upon the earth, as the air trembles in awe of your might.
I revere You now in this moment as the heat kisses my skin. As my body combats Your heat, I welcome You despite.
I revere You now in this moment as the visages of heat-seeking reptiles dance in my mind, dance behind my vision.
I revere You now in this moment with healthy fear of what Your great heat can do upon mortal beasts.
I ask of You so gently and humbly, should it please You,
Bless me and watch over me while You reside in the space beside me.
Guide my hand, protect me, lead me in the right direction.
Lord Hazanor, I invite You into my life and into my space, and I invite You to be my guide towards the oasis of peace and prosperity.
Praise be upon You, Wondrous Hazanor.

Winter Vigil
This seasonal rite is held in the heart of winter, marking the moment Ayla first reached across the veil to guard the soul of her future Keeper. It is a rite of remembrance, devotion, and rebirth—a sacred echo of survival reborn as purpose. The vigil may be held alone or in quiet company, ideally on the coldest night of the year, beside a natural body of water or a ritual bowl of dark water representing the frozen river.
Tools & Symbols:
A black or deep blue bowl filled with water (or snow/ice if outdoors)
A white or bone-colored candle (torch of Ayla)
A small branch or stick (symbol of the fallen tree)
A piece of wolf fur or carved token of a wolf (Akane’s first form)
Optional: incense of pine, cedar, or myrrh
Ritual Preparation:
Begin at dusk or just after sunset.
Fast or eat a simple, grounding meal beforehand (bread, root vegetables, tea).
Enter the ritual space in silence.
Opening Words: “Darkness fell, and I fell with it. But I was not alone. The river took, but the forest gave. The wolf watched. The flame waited. I return now to the place between.”
Lighting the Vigil Flame:
Light the white candle, saying:
“Torchbearer Ayla, flame of the lost, light my path.As you pulled me from silence, I burn now in remembrance.”
Place the candle beside the bowl of water.
Offering to the Dark Wood:
Place the stick across the bowl like a bridge.
Touch the wolf token to your chest, then to the water.
Say: “This branch remembers the fall. This water remembers the cold. This heart remembers your breath.”
Silent Vigil:
Sit in stillness for 9 minutes (one for each year of life at the time of the fall).
Gaze into the water’s surface. Allow images, memories, or visions to rise. If none come, know that silence is also a message.
Closing Words: “When I could not swim, you carried me. When I could not see, you watched for me. I am yours, Ayla of the Guiding Flame. I remember. And I remain.”
Blow out the candle.
Aftercare & Integration:
Drink something warm (herbal tea or spiced milk).
Journal anything that arose during the vigil.
Keep the stick and wolf token on your altar until the spring thaw.
This rite may be performed yearly or whenever death brushes near and survival becomes a question. It is a ritual of re-anchoring—a holy return to the moment your path truly began.

"God" for I have no other name to call them, is not like the Christian God of the Bible. They are not a man in the sky. My God who I am devoted to is the embodiment of the divine love. As in the love a tree has for the earth and the vultures love the carcass. Love that is dirty and messy and violent and voracious. This is not biblical sterile love. My God's goal is to devour and be devoured. Love as an act of violence. Love as consumption. Divine androgynous love. Creator of the King under the Hill and the venusian Lady of the Primordial Waters. The Bacchus/Christian like sacrificed God, consumed by their devotees to taste and worship divinity at its more primal and personal.

✷ some silly interactions i've had with local gods & spirits ✷
//blue texts in a conversation are their words
lighting incenses for them, or sharing my kretek cigarette when i smoke with them. the scent of burnt spices and herbs feels like home
an javanese god who looks like a 40-yrs-old javanese man with leathery skin and calloused working hands, responding "bapakmu, le." (it's like a your mom joke, but to express disbelief and irritation. literally translates to "your dad, son (derogatory)".) to a dumb rethoric i made
"what are you doing?" "hiding." "in my bathroom??"
in response to seeing an incorporeal lady dressed in all white while going to the bathroom, my first reflex is to grab the bug spray
seeing a pair of child's feet behind my own and having a momentary cardiac arrest before i realised what's happening. looking to the side to the incorporeal children with a frown as i said, "...can you not."
"(in distress) please give my ring back, i'm rather attached to it." (sudden silence before my ring fell out of thin air right beside my feet) "...thank you."
bodyslamming a monkey-like creature who was sent as a santet (curse) to my house at 1 am
"can someone please get that ghostly child away from the stairs, i nearly had a heart attack seeing him crawling up and down."
giving a non-human home intruder bombastic side eye until they left
additionally, staring contest with them until they left
"le (son), it's 3 am which is the time where humans go to sleep. some even call it the demon (witching) hour and would avoid being awake at this hour." "..your point?" "why are you awake cooking instant noodles?"
"le, that tree can't survive here. the sun doesn't hit it well."
the goddess lady whom guarded the forest where i had a summer camp in; who wore a kebaya and apologised to me because her children possessed a camp counselor out of fear and defense response. the strange feeling of acknowledgement as we both nodded to eachother before parting ways
the old gods in kerep, ambarawa who never failed to greet me whenever i made a trip back to ambarawa
the stoic silence of the jogjakartan court of old gods. yet even in their stillness, there's a comfortable acceptance of me amongst them whenever i visited
"you can return whenever you need to. this is your Home, you are Ours. no matter how far you've voyaged, you can always return. this is your Home and no one can take that away from you."
the two tigers who followed me all the way to dublin and back home as i studied abroad

Alchemy and Antimony
Anyway, a write up about it so I can organize my thoughts. May post this on my tumblr too to wax poetic about it.
One of the names I got (and one of the meanings to her name) that I got when starting to identify The Lady of Void and Starlight nearly 4 years ago was the meaning "To abstract" and the titles "She who abstracts" and "She who draws away from". This is one of the terms that I've found issue with as it made her seem like a deceitful entity, one who would trick or take away from my path. In every question I've asked about it though she has firmly insisted that this is incorrect. Nearly 9 months ago, when I asked her about her being a "creator" deity she insisted that her form of creation was closer to Alchemical (an important point now) and had nothing to do with parenthood of any variety. This is where I then gave her the title "Forger of Souls" as in one who creates them through a process, rather than birthing them.
When I looked upon the "Antimony" card in the Alchemy deck today, I was hit with the most intense urge to tie myself to the symbol, nearly to the point of instantly knowing I wanted to put it on my body in the form of a tattoo of some kind. This is incredibly unusual to me, as I couldn't place why I felt so strongly about it. Upon looking for the meaning on antimony, I realized that it is also called Lupus Mettalorum, or The Wolf of Metals. The reason for this is that it will devour other metals upon being placed with it. This devouring nature was compared to the endless hunger of wolves in folklore, leading to the term The Wolf of Antimony being created. The image for this card is a white silhouetted wolf on a starry background with a diamond above it's head, while the image that I use for Astrae most of the time is a four point star on a wolfs head, and herself being a black silhouette of a wolf with stars flecked through what would be her fur. This image honestly makes me think of myself, a wolf soul sitting in the nature that is the fur of it's creator.
Moreso though, gold is one of the few things that are unaffected by antimony. It will eat whatever is around the gold, thus extracting the gold itself. This, to me, connects with some of the things that she has said to me as Forger of Souls. That no matter the physical body that surrounds the soul piece she has created, any who have one of her forged souls within them can connect to her, no matter the time or place. Her spirit will, metaphorically, eat through the metals of the physical to reveal the gold of the soul piece within. Suddenly then we have come full circle, her nature is not to divert or distract, her nature is to extract and reveal the gold within, returning to the true meaning of her name, "To Abstract" in which the definition of the verb extract is "To extract or remove something", which is exactly what she does in connect with those who are potentially connected to her. I this I look at her even more fondly, my own "Wolf of Antimony" that found the gold within the metal and opened my eyes to my own true nature once again. The alchemical creator and forger of the soul within. This really is the close to a mystery I've had with her for several years, and I am happy to have found more insight into the nature of her once again.

Brona, my death-decay-rebirth goddess is one the kindest and gentlest entities in the pantheon of The Returning. She’s there to welcome the dying home, give them rest, and then see them on to their next adventure - whether that’s an afterlife or a new life.
A deity having a domain over something commonly seen as bad or scary does not mean that deity is evil. Thanatos having a domain over peaceful death, for example, does not make him an evil, bad, or scary deity. Essentially, don't judge a book by its cover.

The Returning: Who Are the Forgotten Ones?
The Returning revolves around a pantheon of 11 unrecorded entities that I collectively call the Forgotten Ones. I believe that some, if not all of them, were once known to our Paleolithic era early hominid ancestors, as several of the Forgotten Ones have responded with recognition and familiarity to samples of art and artifacts from that era. They also feel older than any other entity I’ve ever encountered - older than gods from other pantheons, older than the Fair Folk and dragons I work with, older than any entity I've encountered in the Otherworlds. There’s something primordial about them for lack of a better word. But old age and deep roots doesn’t necessarily equate to power, or more importantly for the purposes of this post immutability.
Long time readers and friends of this blog are probably familiar with my “silly hat” theory of godhood. That “god” is just a label that people put on the spirits that we worship. It doesn’t mean anything in terms of power, or importance, in my cosmology. God is just a silly hat we put on the particular spirits who are special to us. But there is a corollary to the “silly hat theory” that I don’t think I’ve talked about in a while - I think of it as the "aspect creation theory”. We all know that spirits can have different aspects, like facets of gem, and I believe that people can be responsible for creating those aspects. If enough people believe strongly enough that a spirit has a certain personality or behaves a certain way the spirit will start to be affected by that - an aspect of that entity will form that conforms with that belief.
It was this human driven change that the Forgotten Ones sought to avoid by fragmenting themselves and going dormant. They wanted to stay as they were, and in complete control of themselves. The details of how they came up with this plan were shared to me in the form of a myth that maybe one day I’ll share here. But suffice to say, they knew there was a chance that someone would come along one day to fulfill the role I find myself in - a person who would want to worship them on their own terms, whether that meant preserving them as they are or letting the Forgotten Ones lead any growth or change that might happen. And if no one ever came along to take up that mantle, they believed it was a better fate to die as themselves than to live to become someone unrecognizable. So the Forgotten Ones broke themselves in tiny pieces and all but ceased to be, until I passed my initiation was tasked with putting them back together.
This is my ultimate responsibility as their priestess - I’m the caretaker of their essences. It is my responsibility to ensure that these entities remain in control of their own aspects, staying the same as they were millions of years ago if that’s what they want, or nurturing, but not forcing or dictating, their growth if that’s what they want. It’s an honor to have been trusted with this role, and I have dedicated my life to it.
It is in the interests of this role that I am sharing carefully curated details of The Returning. The deity profiles that I will be posting will not have all of the details about each of the Forgotten Ones, the posts about the Holy Days will not include step by step guides for how to perform the associated rituals for that day. I feel it is time to share more about The Returning than I have before, in the hopes of helping others who are building their practices around their own unrecorded entities. I'm not looking to recruit people practice my religion or worship the Forgotten Ones, in fact I'm actively asking people not to.

Fern's (new) introduction to the Gleaming Grove
The Gleaming Grove is the name I use for my personal pantheon. It is a mix of historical, unrecorded, and constructed deities that I have been honouring for a little over a year now. Some of these deities have been in my life for quite a bit longer, some even right from the start.
Through personal interactions with these deities I have gotten to know them beyond what is historically known. This is called UPG, or Unverified Personal Gnosis. So please, keep in mind that these are my personal interpretations of these deities. Also, as I walk this path and learn more about myself and about these deities, the pantheon might change.
Now, allow me to introduce you.
Cernunnos: Horned Hunter – historical and unrecorded Gaulish deity of the forest, of animals and the hunt. He is the leader of the Wild Hunt and the King of the Fae. He is the god of the liminal, the in between. The cycles of nature – death, decay, and life again.
Nehalennia: Wildmother – historical Dutch deity of nature, the sea, harvest. She guides travelers over sea, guiding them with her stars, or with profitable winds. She is the tempest and the storm, but also the cooling breeze on a hot day. She is the deity of agriculture, especially orchards. Her travel over the sea also includes being a psycho-pomp, guiding those who have passed to their afterlife.
Baduhenna: Rootwoman – historical Dutch deity of the forest, magic, and war. They protect the sacred places and fight against any who wishes to take it away. Protects the oppressed and gives them the tools and power to fight against their oppressors, in both weapons and magic.
Elen of the Ways: Wayfarer – historical or constructed deity of roads and pathways, of journeys both physical and spiritual. She guides us with her lit lantern when we are lost. Labyrinths are dedicated to her, especially as a way to travel inward. She protects us when we travel and nudges us in the right direction of where we need to be. An antlered deity carrying a lantern and surrounded by green.
Nemetona: Sanctuary – historical Gaulish deity of sacred spaces. Protector of boundaries. Both the sacred spaces we creating when practicing witchcraft, as the sacred spaces that are our home and our personal boundaries.
Avalon - Lady of Avalon. Goddess of healing, magic, apples, and harvest. Queen of the Fae, keeper and protector of magic.
Hearthlight – unrecorded and constructed deity of home, hearth, and community. Protects the home and hearth, provides and guards warmth and love in the home. Connections and community. Sharing what you have and taking what you need. Perhaps a mantle shared between different deities
Loki: Trickster – historical Norse deity of mischief, change, laughter. God of the outcasts, challenges societal norms and brings necessary change.
Venaris: Lady of Flowers – unrecorded deity of spring, of flowers, love, joy, mirth, and art. Beauty, music, poetry and inspiration. She invites us to dance to the tune of the seasons, to stop and smell the roses, and see the small wonders around us. Is related to Eostre/Ostra and Meda
Liyesa: The Iridescent One – historical and constructed deity of beauty, self love and -acceptance, freedom. She teaches us there is beauty in all of us, and helps us learn to love and accept ourselves as we are. Breaker of Chains, she guides us to break free of the chains society and our own perfectionism throw around us. She grants us second chances should we need them.
Holle: the Veiled Silence – constructed and historical Dutch deity of silence, of winter and of secrets. She is the silence of snowfall. She urges us into contemplation and introspection, and what secrets mean and how to keep them.
Arawn - historical Welsh deity of the Underworld, the wild hunt, loyalty, and honour. King of the Fae and Lord of the Dead. Also called Gwyn.
Ashka: Ashkeeper – unrecorded deity of the dead, graveyards, and memories. Gathers and keeps the memories we have of those who have passed. Keeps the ‘souls’ safe until they are ready to continue to wherever they choose their afterlife to be.
the Morrigan: Crowmother – historical Irish deity of war, magic, and sovereignty. She is connected to Baduhenna both through historical sources and my own interaction with both.
Mona: Moonmother – historical deity of the Moon, magic, the night. Bringer of change and moving through cycles. Mother/sister to Starsister. Void created the stars, Herta (the Earth) and the moon. We gave them life in the form of divinity. Moon came first, and she inspired humans to give her a sister/daughter.
Stēra: Stardancer – unrecorded deity of the stars and the night sky, of navigation and of hope. A light in the dark, a guide to lead us home. She dances across the sky, leaving a trail of stars behind.
Herta/Arda: Greenmother – historical Dutch deity of the Earth, nature, growth, and harvest. Her day was called “Hartjesdag” or “Heart’s Day” and was a day for collecting magical herbs to bless the home.
Gahella: Void/Creation – The emptiness from which anything can be created (chaos in Latin) The depth of space. The Divine Chaosyne. Void is the emptiness that was here before the big bang. The void from which creation springs forth. They are the darkness between the stars that birth the galaxies and starfields. Chaos is needed to keep things from getting stagnant, and is the catalyst for change.
Werda: Wordweaver – unrecorded deity of words, stories, magic. Muse of writing. They spark the inspirational spark and guide the words on paper. They are the keepers of knowledge, both mundane and magical.
Lycke: Lotweaver – unrecorded deity of fate, luck, and the tapestry of life. They weave the threads of life, guide and watch over them. Fate is not set in stone, choices and such will always have an influence on the tapestry.
Klaithe: Craftweaver – unrecorded deity of creativity, artistry, and artisans. The joy of creation for the sake of creation. The inspirational spark that is within all of us. The need to express our true selves in our own ways.
Spirits honoured in my practice: the Good Neighbours, Alven, Merfolk, Dragon, Unicorn. My ancestors of blood and bone, land, heart, spirit, and craft. The spirit of Wolf and Crow.

Today's Vaerzyx Entity is... Zyxlairuo!
( zicks-uhl-air-uu-oh ) Zyxlairuo is the "Head" of the Pantheon, albeit They often reject that They stand above the rest and instead prefer to stand beside, though the rest tend to see it the other way. They are oft represented by the phoenix, surrounded by blooming flowers.
They are often called the Ever-Mother, for They are a creation deity, although it's very common for Them to create and then leave what has been created to its own devices. Despite the feminine term, They are not feminine in gender, and can just as much be called the Ever-Father and Ever-Parent, although I prefer the Ever-Mother term.
They are hope and life manifest, it is through Them that we can see and learn the deepest intricacies of life. It is through Them that life breathes and thrives.
They are known through many aspects, the main ones I know being The Creator, The Destructor, The Reborn, and The Dead And Unreborn.
They brought together the Vaerzyx as a pantheon to help pursue and create the Better Tomorrow, a concept best described as simply that we should all have hope and fight for tomorrow to be better than today, every day.
They can be called upon by calling their name, burning a paper with their name or their sigil upon it, or by burning a flower.
You might call upon Zyxlairuo for:
help with being "reborn"
transitions and changes
utilizing multiple elements in a spell
calling forth hope
self-empowerment
learning to enjoy life
migrating through the seasons
major life changes
Some Signs & Associations from Zyxlairuo:
phoenixes, especially surrounded by flowers
tall, grand trees and/or trees with large visible root systems
freshly burnt hearths
swords with an ash-black blade
bonfires
stars
petrified wood
sunflowers
Some Devotional Acts to Zyxlairuo:
indulge yourself in the pleasures of life
say what you hope for to the stars above
be respectful to all life
support your community
join clubs, social groups, etc
indulge an element (fire, water, etc) ex. burn a candle; swim; mess with a plasma ball; run with tiny windmills; run a lava lamp
maintain a garden
write emotional letters and burn them
Some Offerings to Zyxlairuo:
naturally shed bird feathers, animal fur, horns, etc
sun and moon water (mixed together)
freshly bloomed flowers
obsidian
ash
fresh fruits and veggies
devotional poetry to deceased creatures
fruit and flower scents

Pictured above, one possible sigil of Zyxlairuo.

Mr Stag and I have been looking at engagement rings and there was one I saw on Etsy that was very night sky themed that Vega perked up at. It was actually pretty cheap for a semiprecious stone ring so I offered to get it for her as a devotional piece, and I got the impression of “But could you make it?”
No Vega, I can’t make you a devotional ring with blue sandstone and opals and moonstones. That is NOT a skill I have, nor is it one I will be able to develop any time soon!
Sick and tired of making devotional stuff. I wish my brain would just let me buy something

Ayla Remembers the Taking
A Vision-Spoken Memory from the Third Observer
When I came into being, I remained in the fields of the dead.
I did not rise in fire or demand a crown. I knelt. I wept. I sat beside those left behind and shared in their grief.
I watched them—souls not at peace, but still clinging to the ache of life. They fought even in death, drawn along the shattered lines of names and flags, the ghost-echoes of Yahweh’s own warring children.
Their pain did not end with breath. It echoed. It howled.
And when they began to drift— one knew where they were going, but their feet found the edge of a wood not named.
I followed.
I walked beneath those trees as one who mourns, as one who listens.
And in the hush between branches, I came upon a shrine.
Old. Forgotten. Thick with lichen and the dust of unspoken names.
It bore no likeness, no inscription— only the shape of presence. Of someone who had watched before me.
I stood there for a long while.
The silence stretched wide and deep, but it was not empty. It was listening.
I do not know when I was chosen. I only know that the trees bent toward me. That the shrine began to glow faintly.
Not in fire—but in recognition.
My flame was not hotter, only more present.
I did not replace her. I answered her.
And the Wood knew.
It remembered her. It remembers me.
It will remember you.
That is what it means to become Keeper.
