Day Six: Ring
She didn’t have a wedding ring.
They’d married each other under the pines, in the clear winter air, when the sunset had painted the sky in watercolours of saffron and rose. Pressed together against the cold, they’d ducked into the long-forgotten ruins of an abandoned church on the hillside, its abandoned, broken stones draped with an eternal blanket of clean, new snow.
Around them, nothing but silence.
Alone in the world together, they’d stood bathed in ruby winter light, whispering promises only meant for each other. They’d slipped out of Ishgard like ghosts, shedding their titles and responsibilities, leaving them behind like weapons dropped after a battle hard-won. With naught to offer each other save the insubstantial, unbreakable contents of two hearts beating in time, understanding still dawned that they needed no one’s permission to do what felt most natural in the world.
Nothing else mattered.
Alone and in secret, a girl with no family wed a knight with no name. They spoke hushed, fervent wedding vows to each other, sealed with lips and deed alike, binding them together with an oath more sacred than any church across the star could have provided.
They hadn’t planned a wedding. He’d asked under the pines, and she’d agreed under the sunset, and in the same moment they made it so. Unable to stay, and unwilling to leave, standing dangerously on the precipice of the unknown, she’d taken his hand and his promise both; that regardless of where she found herself in the world, she would have him, and he would have her.
With nothing at hand, he’d twisted his own ring off his forefinger. It had been given to him by his father, in great ceremony, as he’d stepped into his title, risen up from lowly bastard child to the highest rank of the holiest knights in the land. A holy relic of the church, passed down through generations over thousands of years in careful tradition. And now it was hers. The ring held the light of a thousand dragonfires in its stone heart, the impossibly rare blue shade of the diamond shining the deep blue of a wine-dark sea in the waning winter sunlight.
The knight had no name, but he did have authority, undeserving as he felt it was. He called it forth with his half-smile that thawed the ice around her heart, and he dared the gods to question what they themselves had brought together. With his eyes on hers, he’d slid the ring on her finger, and called her beloved.
Called her his wife.
The girl had no family, but she could have him, and having him was as natural to who she was now as the very skin she inhabited. The ring didn’t fit, but she never hesitated, sliding it carefully on her first finger instead. A secret token, known to them and them alone. With her eyes on his, she promised herself to him, body and soul and whatever was left between, and called him beloved.
Called him her husband.
The mountains and the wintery forest were their witnesses, and the distant call of lonely birds were their wedding bells. They kissed in the dying sunlight, keeping each other warm, and steady, against whatever was to come. The stone on her finger winked softly in the fading glow of the sunset as she pulled him to her, holding him for as long as possible, for as long as he held her in return.
Forever, he whispered against her lips, again and again until she could never doubt it.
The girl with no family and the knight with no name had never belonged to anyone, until they belonged to each other.
Stars shone bright over Coerthas by the time they finally slipped away again, fingers delicately linked. Ready to drop carefully apart as soon as they were in view of the city, as though nothing had happened out there in the snow. Bonded, instead, in a new way that would never be severed, no matter how severely they would come to be tested.
She didn’t have a wedding ring.
She didn’t need one.

Doin one of em WoL info thingies
Tumblr media
BASICS
Name: Akari Shimisu (former) Elysia Vespera
Nicknames: Morningstar, dove or little dove (coined by Estinien) Ely
Age: 22 (ARR)
Nameday: 1st day of the second Astral Moon
Race: Raen Au Ra
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bi
Profession: Adventurer
APPEARANCE
Hair: Wine red
Eyes: Dark blue + light blue limbal rings
Skin: Tan
Tattoos/scars: A scar on her face from Zenos, but she hides it with glamour
FAMILY
Parents: Mina Shimizu (mother, deceased) Ren Shimizu (father, deceased)
Siblings: Soma Shimizu (older brother)
it should be noted that Elysia is technically disowned from the Shimizu's
Grandparents: (unnamed and irrelevant lol)
In-laws and Other: I guess the Fortemps are kind of her in laws? She was engaged to Haurche before he... yk so I guess them.
(had to sneak in a HaurchElysia screenshot sorry guys)
Tumblr media
Pets: Iris (Immortal Flames issued chocobo) Pepper (black chocobo gifted by Haurchefant)
SKILLS
Abilities: Multi job- main ones are White Mage (ARR- middle of Heavensward), Dragoon (middle of Heavensward - Endwalker), and Machinist (post Endwalker and beyond) Her aether often manifests white or colorless (I like to think it's bc she's very light aether aspected due to being Azem's shard) and all her Dragoon skills feature feather motifs rather than dragon ones. Also as a Machinist, I like to think she fights like Mami from Madoka Magica. You know, summoning multiple shotguns, elegance, and the guns coming out from under the skirt bc that's cool as fuck.
Anyways have a screenshot of Machinist Elysia ft. Zenos
Tumblr media
Hobbies: She likes to sing! Not a trained singer by any means, but she's pretty okay. (again kinda connected to Azem bc her Azem could sing) She's quite crafty with her hands as well- often makes her own clothes and accessories (in a modern AU I think she would be a fashion student hehehehe)
TRAITS
Most Positive Trait: Her charm????
Most Negative Trait: Uh... how do I explain this? Bc it's not just one trait...
Basically, Elysia is very insecure and fears she is not worthy of anything she has. She puts on this show of a prideful, vain girl but she is deathly afraid of losing everything. This sort of leads her selflessness to becoming self destructive as she actively seeks out increasingly more dangerous enemies to take on.
In addition to all of that, she doesn't really care about the realm. She only fights because she has to- she's the strongest, she's Hydaelyn's chosen; if not her, then who? This leads her to have a certain amount of resentment for the people she's helped since she's suffered so much just to save them.
LIKES
Colors: White, red, pink, dark blue.
Smells: Cherry, milk tea, lavender, pine, fresh snow, the sea
Textures: Any and all silver jewelry-she actually wears quite a lot to the point where it subtly chimes as she walks. (haven't drawn this yet hnnggg) Light fabrics, satins and silks, fur or feathers.
Drinks: Anything fruity tbh
OTHER DETAILS
Smokes: nope
Drinks: Yes! And she can hold her alcohol pretty well since she stayed in Limsa for a bit.
Drugs: no? in other AUs maybe
Mount Issuance: Iris or Pepper
Been Arrested: Haven't thought about it yet but most definitely lmao

Name: Wintgeim Slafzedyrwyn (Winter Gem, Daughter of Sleeping Cedar)
Gender: Female
Age: 20 (ARR), 26 (EW)
Nameday: 9th Sun of the First Astral Moon
Hometown: Moraby Drydocks
Likes: Chilli Jam (person), Theia, Blue, Soft toys, Rum, Ocean, Grebuloff
Dislikes: Eulmore, Lolorito Nanarito, Sahagin, Leviathan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shortly after the 7th Umbral Calamity, aged 14-15, Wint had a newfound ability, one that would more often than not get her into trouble by allowing her to learn secrets she wasnt supposed to know. As a result of these newfound abilities, she thought may aswell cause some problems along the way and joined the misfit band of pirates - the Sirens, where she meets her childhood best friend Chilli Jam, and they end up always by eachothers side and bailing eachother out of situations.
It was at this point she found herself a rapier (missing its focus) left abandoned and forgotten, she picked it up and was determined to learn the art of swordplay. Also in this time she aquires Tsukuyomi's Revolver from aboard a Garlean ship bound for Doma, and from that day onward she was determined to learn how to use a gun, so that one day she can use her loot without fear of damaging or losing it. In the meantime her loot gets stashed away in an unnamed location, to be retrieved once she has learned how to properly use her new gear.
Tumblr media
However aunt Merlwyb (her mum Sylb's sister) wasnt overly fond of the concept that her neice was on this slippery slope of piracy, and tried to help her out. Wint however anticipated the worst result if she was caught (perhaps at the hand of rumours from fellow Sirens), and commenced evasive manoeuvres whenever Merl, Maelstrom, or Yellow Jackets were within sight.
She finally gets caught one day (aged 17) and The Admiral offers her a path: a clean slate - going to Ul'dah with a reasonable sum of money to get her going. Maybe become an adventurer, or perhaps Ul'dah has a yrade she can learn. So away she goes to Ul'dah, clean slate and a pocketful of gil, what will she do? Then around aged 19-20 she returns to Limsa and joins the Maelstrom - determined to make a change for the better.
Tumblr media
However on one of her first squadron missions she was on a patrol mission within the area of Camp Skull Valley, when her squadron was caught by the Sahagin, and were offered to Leviathan for new thralls. Wint was somehow the only one to survive with no explanation as to why, just a lot of bad memories and a ton of questions. She is finally rescued by a second squadron and she has an arduous recovery ahead of her.
Fastforward to post A Realm Reborn, little lord Alphinaud has a new goal, and he needs members to fill the ranks. Wint gets wind of it and requests to be transferred from the Maelstrom to the Crystal Braves, where she meets the Warrior of Light themselves, and comes to learn of the echo and has many a question to ask. Ultimately she becomes reassured that her Leviathan incident was out of her hands, but also that she was not alone in experiences like this; WoL themselves had a similar incident happen to them with the Amalj'aa and Ifrit.
The Crystal Braves fall apart as they do, but like Riol, she sticks around as they are a good bunch, and she and WoL have a lot in common and a lot she still has to learn about herself; answers she will be more likely to learn with the Scions over staying with the Maelstrom.
Tumblr media
Wint Fun Facts:
She has a scar on her forehead, many variations of tales have been told about how she received said scar, including fighting a pack of ravenous wolves, in reality she injured herself falling out of a tree as a kid.
Is fluent in the Old Roegadyn language, as Sylb taught her it because it was something she believed her dad would have wanted for her, to learn about and potentially visit his home one day.
Wint's story continues along side WoL and the Scions. Unlike Theia, her story remains just about the same - irrelevant of who is Main WoL, keeper of the Azem Stone.

Thanks so much for tagging me @grenanigans! <3
1. Quickie---an Erenville/reader fic I wrote for an exchange that's very much NSFW (FFXIV)
2. Cheating a bit here but Temper and Turn a Blind Eye are two fics that go together. They're the stories of how Agi's birth parents met their not at all pleasant ends. (FFXIV)
3. A Knight and His Lady---Haurchefant. An unnamed female Warrior of Light. Tons of glorious smut. (FFXIV)
4. Hibernation in which Annie (half-elf sorcerer version of my WOL Agi) and Halsin deal with his upcoming hibernation set post-game. NSFW. (BG3)
5. Body in which Agnetha (the human version of my WOL Agi) expresses her worries with Astarion over whether or not he finds her desirable. (BG3)
Honorable mention: Beard because it's just Agi wanting to bang her man with a beard lmao (FFXIV)
Tagging @dhampling @necromeowncy @weather-maiden @kootiepatra @quinn-borel
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
* sweats profusely trying to find even 3 I like never mind 5 * I am truly my biggest critic. So this was actually hard lol. But. Yeah here they are. And thank you for sending!
Apartment 342 ( Tess Servopoulos x reader )
I like any fic where I can get into Tess’ head a bit. And I’m pretty sure this fic was my first proper go at that.
The forbidden fruit ( Arthur Morgan x Reader )
A fic that I love simply because writing it came so easy. I had so much motivation and writing flow. And I love to be descriptive when it comes to emotions and feelings and this was perfect for that.
Muse ( Remus Lupin x Nymphadora Tonks )
I look back on a lot of my Remadora fics now and don’t like them simply because I have improved a whole lot since then. Found my style and continue to work on it yk. But this truly was one of my fav things I ever wrote for them. I never really liked the idea of non magic aus but yeah. I really liked this.
You sunshine, you temptress ( Tess Servopoulos x reader )
Again I love getting into Tess’ head. I channeled a lot of myself into Tess with this one and I know it flopped ridiculously hard but I do adore this fic. Exploring a new side of Tess and also just making her vulnerable for once.
And she would rescue me ( Tess Servopoulos x reader )
Another lil peak into Tess’ head. Idk why I like this one I just do. The developing relationship and the not so happy ending. Idk. I like it.
I nominate @devnmon @celestemagnoliathewriter @queer-sadie-adler @xthescarletbitch + anyone who feels like it!
No pressure to do it tho ✨

Coloring | Fic for Eliniei
Thank you so much for your support and for letting me make this for you @eliniei ! I had a wonderful time ^^
Ao3 Link
Rating: G
Category: F/M or Gen (can be read as either)
Applicable tags: Shadowbringers spoilers, metric hecktonne of fluff, wolemet is good, sometimes you just gotta fingerpaint with a sorcerer of eld
Summary: Someone should have let the Warrior of Light in on the memo that he is an unfathomably powerful being before they managed to sneeze paint all over the collar of his coat.
Emet-Selch, Sorcerer of Eld and Architect of Amaurot, does not finger paint. He sketches and has used gouache more than one, but him? Finger-painting for some ridiculous little festival that damned Exarch has made for the people of the Crystarium? Never.
The Warrior of Light continues her work as if his criticisms of her art float above her head. She dabs a little more paint on what Emet-Selch thinks might be a flower (or a Flan? Maybe even a radioactive mandragora. He’s never been one for deciphering the doodles of his kin) and pushes hair from her face, smearing a bright line of acrylic across her cheek in the process.
“My, what a mess you make.” He grimaces at how the paint only smears further when she tries to wipe it off.
She smiles when she replies, “It’s fun. You should try it sometime. Destroying the world and avenging this and that is tough work. Finger-painting is not.”
Emet-Selch sits down on the floor and crosses his legs, slouching nearly more than he does while standing, and very pointedly does not look at the messy palette all too near his right hand. He just watches the Warrior painstakingly dot tiny stamen all over the inside of what he is beginning to realize is a very campy sunflower. He wonders what prompted the usage of indigo instead of yellow, but that could be due to the Warrior’s penchant for purposeful chaos.
He continues to watch until she sneezes and accidentally flicks paint onto the fur of his robe. He stares at the offending specks of orange in absolute disbelief. “Warrior, tell me,” he asks in his very best attempt at civility, “do you realize what you’ve done?”
She rubs at her nose with one paint-covered hand and looks at his clothing. She squints. “Is that… paint?”
“Yes.”
Her jaw drops. “So you’re joining me?”
Emet-Selch worries that maybe there are more than a few screws loose in her head because he is fuming and all she asked was if he was joining her in making a ridiculous mortal mess of protean art. “You sneezed paint on me,” he clarifies. “Do you understand what that means?”
“Oh. You need a change of clothes?”
He sighs in the most put-upon way he can manage. “Sure,” he says, sarcasm obvious in his tone and the roll of his eyes. “Why not.”
She shuffles over to her wardrobe and pulls out some work clothes, most of which already bearing stains from wear, and tosses a particularly large set of coveralls his way. They are suspiciously close to his size. She then sits back down and gets to work.
Emet-Selch looks at the fabric in his hands. It wouldn’t do to continue subjecting his clothing to the abuse of being around the Sundered (and paint) and he could surely Create some suitable loungewear with a snap, but… why not wear the clothing the Warrior gave him? Beside the obvious reasons, that is.
He tugs off his coat and outer robes, stepping into the coveralls and wondering how, exactly, they fit so well considering the Warrior’s own measurements against his own. He barely has time to evaluate whether or not his appearance is satisfactory before the woman in question is patting the floor next to her impatiently.
“Sit with me!”
He acquiesces and hopes she understands how many of her traits are the same as they were during their days together in Amaurot. The 14th… that their many pieces would be so enduring is balm to his soul.
She hands him the palette and waits. He blinks. “I do not finger-paint.”
“You can make what you need, yes?” She points at the open spaces throughout her project─a huge fabric banner for the Pendants─and smiles. “I’d appreciate the help.”
He makes a brush without thought, the matrices simpler than things like living beings or clockwork, and says, “I suppose I can assist, given the right incentive.”
“Lyna said she’ll bring lemon wafers over in the afternoon.”
Emet-Selch huffs a laugh. “Alright. Show me what we’re working with.”

I don't really want to say this, but if you defend and praise Zenos after that one bit it Garlemald in Endwalker MSQ, please DNI with me.
I am really tired of your generic male (and to an extend female) antagonists being forgiven all the shit they pull, just because they're good looking and have some "deep philosophical motivation".
Being soul-r*ped by Zenos, stuffed into a corpse of some unnamed soldier and left in a traumatising struggle while he goes to hurt WoL's friends was probably the worst part of the entire expansion for me. It really left me feeling dirty and uncomfortable, to the point of making it hard for me to continue the MSQ until I felt better.
I don't care if in the end he was just some "lonely" test tube child, who was tired of life or whatever. Seeing people drool all over him and hoping for his eventual return, even after what he did not only to WoL but many others, grosses me out to no end. I sincerely hope we never get to see his face again ever. And I'm glad we weren't forced to redeem/understand him in the end. Punting him at the edge of the universe and ignoring his sappy monologue was a satisfying end.

Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV Pairing: Implied/possibly one-sided Emet-Selch/Azem Rating: T Summary: He tells himself that he has erred, that it could not possibly be her. It’s sad, really, and a downright shame, but after all this time, and like so much else, he has just simply forgotten the exact colour of her soul. Notes: Hello!  I find myself wanting to say a lot here, but most of it is irrelevant.  I haven’t been so excited to write in actual years, so I hope you will forgive that the content I currently care about is probably not the content you came here for. Unnamed/ambiguous female WoL, patch 5.3 spoilers.
--
It is shameful, really, how much has been lost to time.  Oh, sure, he’s gone on about the big things, but there’s so much more than that.  So many faces, so many voices he labours to call to mind--friends, family, people he saw every day, or as often as he could. Oh, if only he could see them, hear them just one more time, he is certain he would never forget again.
How could he have known he would need to hold onto them for so long?
There would have been no way to prepare, even if he had known.  What’s a thousand years to an immortal?  Ten thousand?  A hundred thousand?
Somewhere in the dreary, pallid present, he feels a pair of eyes upon him.
“What?” he snaps.
The vaunted hero of the Source, the one they call the Warrior of Light, is smiling at him.  The sight of it makes his stomach turn.

-rolls in- Hello! A pumpkin here! I have literally just started following you! I noticed you like OP and FFXIV!! Could I request a fluffy scenario with an au-ra WOL with Aymeric. Them coming back from another adventure, sleepy cuddles?! If that's okay! (I'm also about to binge your masterlist) thank you!
Sorry for the long wait! But here you go!
I also just realized that I wrote it for a female WoL, not a gn one. I’m sorry! If you’re uncomfortable with it I’ll change it!
Pairing: Aymeric x unnamed WoL
Warnings: None
Wordcount: 961
It was already late at night, the cold Ishgardian weather slowly getting under her skin. Tugging her scarf closer to her face, she hastened her step. It wouldn’t take long until she was reaching her destination: Aymeric’s mansion.
The light of the moon was engulfing the streets in a mystical shimmer as the icy winds flew mercilessly through them as she walked. Seeing how peaceful the city seemed at the moment, you could almost forget it faced the threat of being eliminated by a giant dragon not so long ago. Her thoughts wandered back to the times where she fought side to side with her friends, against Nidhogg, against Thordan and the Heavensward. It all seemed so long ago.
Lost in thought she didn’t notice how long she had been walking, only realizing where she was as she was standing in front of an impressive door. The sense of familiarity overcame her as she looked up the massive wall.
Before she was able to make another step forward the door opened, revealing a face she knew all too well. Aymeric’s retainer, who was seemingly glad to see her, inviting her inside.
“It’s a pleasure to see you here, Miss. Unfortunately Master Aymeric isn’t back from his duties yet.”
Pausing in her step, she looked at the elder man in front of her, “He’s still in his office?”
With a nod he answered, “Yes. But it shouldn’t take long until he returns.”
The Warrior of Light looked in the direction of the Congregation of Our Knights Most Heavenly with a worried expression before uttering her next words, “I’ll be back later. Could I ask you to prepare some tea? Hopefully we’ll return soon.”
The retainer returned her smile with one of his own before seeing her off, leaving her out in the cold again. A shudder went through her as she tugged the scarf even closer. Ishgardian weather was cold normally but the icy wind on this clear night was harsh, even for her standards. She sighed and started to make her way to her lover’s office wordlessly and hastily.
She went even faster as she was nearing the Forgotten Knight, knowing she’d soon be inside the warm walls of the Congregation, her horns already slightly covered in snow.
A sigh escaped her lips as she found herself standing in the entrance hall, finally shielded from the unyielding winds and enveloped in warmth. But she didn’t spend much time basking in the absence of snow and immediately went for the door behind which her love was sitting at his desk, probably buried in work like always.
The temple knight guard already knew why she was here and made way, opening the door slightly. She thanked him with a nod before she entered completely, gaining the attention of the black haired Elezen.
Aymeric’s gaze softened the moment he laid eyes on her, smile turning sheepish as he saw her worried but also stern expression.
“Don’t even say it. I know I shouldn’t stay at work for this long.”
She returned his statement with a warm smile on her lips, “You never stop working if it helps people, do you? Well, I’m clearly not the one to judge when it comes to that.”
The Elezen was about to stand up, but was stopped by a simple hand gesture and her walking over to him. She took his head in her hands and pressed a loving kiss onto his lips.
A content sigh escaped Aymeric and his whole body leaned into the AuRa in front of him and he wasn't able to stifle the disappointed noise that came out of his mouth when she broke the kiss.
She stroked his cheek with her thumb, looked directly into his piercing blue eyes and whispered, "I missed you."
"I missed you, too."
He lifted his hand up on top of hers and pressed a kiss to it, tugging slightly on it and signaling her to come closer. She complied without any form of resistance, letting herself be lead onto his lap where she sat down, her other hand supporting herself on his chest and her legs hanging off the chair.
In this position she was eye-to-eye with him which rarely was the case.
She leant her head against him, exhaustion slowly taking over her body as she murmured, "I love you, you know?"
Pressing a kiss to her forehead, Aymeric answered with warmth in his voice, "I know. And I hope you know I love you, too."
The AuRa now wrapped both her arms around him and snuggled deeper against him, a sigh of comfort escaping her lips, "Of course I do."
Aymeric held her close with an arm around her waist and let his other hand trace around her body, caressing her horns and scales and tucking hair out of her face.
He looked at her now sleeping frame and was mesmerized by her beauty but he also knew that once she was asleep, there was no waking the AuRa up again for some time.
She really did sleep like a rock.
So he decided to just give in and put up with some back pain tomorrow to let her rest without worry for once. Here, there was no threat of Gobbuls or Svarogs that could attack her in her sleep. Right now she was in the arms of the man she loved, able to let herself be completely vulnerable and didn't have to sleep with one eye open at night.
And Aymeric wanted to treasure every second of it. He gave her forehead a little peck again and continued to watch her, until his own tiredness caught up again.
Yes, a little bit of back pain was worth this. And you couldn't convince him otherwise.

Illegible FFXIV Story Status - UPDATED
I actually have a few stories finished, going, or in the wings at the moment for FFXIV! And people seem to like them which is very exciting and cool since it’s been a while since I was in an active fandom like this!
Normally I don’t do this kind of post but frankly I know what it’s like as a reader to be in that fidgety “WHEN ARE YOU DOING X” state haha, and I want to be considerate of that.
So I’m going to actually make a progress list this time. Also just a collection of stuff in case people are curious.
COMPLETE
From Umbra: This is the backstory for my main Warrior of Light, Cenric Asher. I essentially did a deep dive into lore for Thanalan, Ul’dah, and Nald’Thal because I love all of them to pieces and wanted to combine them to create a character who truly felt shaped by the environment. Cenric is probably delusional and thinks he’s the son of a god but most likely just has some Duskwight lineage and really bad luck.
Posturing: First story in a series of Emet-Selch/Female!Warrior of Light stories called Brief Our Moments, I literally wrote this as a personal challenge to see if I could do something romantic with an ambiguous WoL. It’s fluffy and has  some humor. Warrior of Light is unnamed and only confirmed elezen so technically people can imagine their own Warrior if they feel like it. If you stop at this point in the series, The Dying Gasp has a kind of sweet undertone because the Warrior and Emet-Selch both get shown as sharing small kindnesses when they can get away with it.
Stillborn: Second story in a series of Emet-Selch/Female!Warrior of Light stories called Brief Our Moments, this is a continuation of my personal shipping challenge where I more or less went “okay but what would it take to get a kiss scene while being canon-compliant?” and discovered that the answer was angst. Can technically be read without Posturing but I wrote it with that story in-mind. Same deal on ambiguous Warrior of Light. If you stop at this point in the series The Dying Gasp is still bittersweet as per canon.
The Immortal Wound: Third story in a series of Emet-Selch/Female!Warrior of Light stories called Brief Our Moments, this the third part of my personal shipping challenge where I was all “m’kay so I know the price of a kiss what would it take to get a sex scene” and the answer was “blood sacrifice”. Very very angsty but also very very romance-y. Same deal as the previous two fics, you can technically read it all alone but I wrote it as a continuation. You can pretty much bypass The Dying Gasp with this one.
Stalemate: ANOTHER PERSONAL CHALLENGE SHIPFIC! I am a simple and easily distracted writer who occasionally needs to pause in outlining to tell more stories. This came into being for two reasons. 1) I saw someone say they wanted Warrior/Lahabrea shipfic and that’s something I’m perfectly happy to deliver 2) I saw another person lament the lack of M/M shipfics involving the Warrior of Light. I basically treat all the Ascians as bisexual anyway, so decided for Lahabrea I’d go with M/M. This is not a direct sequel to Eclipse but it is very much a spiritual successor in the sense that Eclipse can lend some context to the state Lahabrea is in here. Premise is that it’s not long after Haurchefant’s death and the Warrior of Light is both grieving and furious. Lahabrea, having not faced him since the Praetorium, takes advantage of this and antagonizes Hydaelyn’s chosen. Angst/Romance here, Warrior is unnamed but a midlander Dark Knight.
Appetite: I made a Vauthry fic for the 30 day prompt challenge. This was for “voracious” and it has cannibalism! Straight up horror story, I went stylistically trippy and played off some fun theories I saw with certain family dynamics.
Snuff: Another 30 day prompt challenge story, this one is basically a humor study on Lahabrea while he was infiltrating the Scions in Thancred’s body. He needs to go to bed. Tataru tries to tell him this and he ignores her. No one ignores Tataru and gets away with it.
Parched: And another 30 day prompt challenge fic, focusing on the Unsundered but mainly Elidibus. Humor, friendship, and bittersweetness here, basically none of them are functional people but the way Elidibus is non-functional is more subtle than the other two. Emet-Selch and Lahabrea conspire to get him smashed as a way to help with this. Pianos are involved.
Eclipse: Technically was also a 30 day prompt challenge fic. This one is from Nabriales’ point of view for the most part and explores his resentment and jealousy of the Unsundered as well as his specific animosity toward Lahabrea. It does not end well for Lahabrea. Angst and gen.
IN PROGRESS
Memento Mori: This is not online but I mentioned that I would be doing a sequel to The Immortal Wound and this is it! It is going to be very very big and AU and frankly the way I’m setting it up theoretically will allow me to adapt and keep weaving elements in as patch cycles progress. I have a lot of it mapped out already and did start the first chapter but I want to adjust certain bits in light of patch 5.1. I have some idea how I want it to end, but how will I get there? No idea. At this point I am caving and will be explicitly using my Warrior of Light Nivienne Leclair because 1) it is really difficult to keep he said/she said sounding clear and interesting even in shorter stories, let alone the monster this is bound to be 2) I have some fun references I want to make to the stories of Merlin and Nimue 3) at a certain point in a relationship you need to share backstories in explicit detail lol. So the last part (I think) for Brief Our Moments touches on the value of life as something fleeting and fragile.
Somnus: Elidibus-centric, this is essentially me slamming my hands on the table in a figurative sense and going “LET ME TELL YOU MY FEELINGS ABOUT DAD!ELIDIBUS.” It examines Elidibus’ dynamic with Unukalhai as well as the other two Unsundered, does a lot of backstory speculation, and explores difficulties all three of the Unsundered have with sleeping after the Terminus event. Technically Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship, and kind of Family I guess? Worth noting that I’ve edited the bit that’s up since first posting in accordance with further information on canon. It’s probably AU anyway but oh well. I know more or less all the steps in this story, just have a bit of adjusting to account for my newer character interpretations. Plan to alternate it with Memento Mori.
Untitled Fem!WoL/Emet-Selch Shipfic Oneshot #1: Currently in cooldown mode from a medium-sized story,  I put out requests for shipfic clichés as a fun scenario and got a request for Fem!WoL/Emet-Selch courtesy of @nipuni! I don’t know that I can do all of them given I wanna pop back to Memento Mori but two I think I can pull off haha.
Untitled Fem!WoL/Emet-Selch Shipfic Oneshot #2: Same deal as above lol, idk that I can do all of the prompts but two is pretty fair I think so gonna hit two!
Untitled Male!WoL/Lahabrea Shipfic Oneshot Sequel: This is an uncertain timing thing for me, basically I am a sucker for more optimistic endings when I can take them. If I can pull off a moderately small and optional goodish-end with the Dark Knight WoL from Stalemate, I don’t mind at all. And I do know how I’d do it. In case you haven’t noticed my impulse control is terrible and I have too many ideas for things.
Untitled Lahabrea/Emet-Selch Oneshot: Lmao this is literally “challenge accepted” for @strangefellows on an unambiguous, non-love triangle shipfic. Again, my impulse control is terrible. But I can totally do a oneshot for them.
Dead Language: Emet-Selch focused but follows the three Unsundered in the immediate aftermath of Terminus. I started this pretty early after Shadowbringers came out. At the time I knew where it was going, now I don’t and I might want to make a bunch of edits or even redo it depending. I still like bits of it, like the idea of Lahabrea obsessively reviewing his notes before summoning Zodiark so he doesn’t have to think about what’s going on around him.
With Good Intentions: A friendship fic, I decided to look at how Cenric specifically would relate to Emet-Selch because it stood out in an interesting way to me. It mostly has a bit of banter but I do have a planned direction and ending in mind that plays off the idea of conditional trust. Continues an idea I have with Cenric that he gets closest to people who treat him like he’s just a person, versus Warrior of Light.
Basically a good chunk of what I do is me going challenge accepted though lol. I honestly really love experimenting, and the whole “take X prompt and see what you can pull off” premise too. Right now I think I need to focus on what’s on my plate, but in-general I’m pretty happy to do requests!

I DID IT. I FINISHED THE FIRST CHAPTER.
please expect a very slow burn and eventual fluff or maybe more. the thirst is strong with this one. unnamed female WoL.
   "Oh."
In his surprise, he nearly forgot to wear his usual smile. He'd expected a messenger, not the Warrior of Darkness. So much for shelving those unbidden thoughts and memories this eve. His expression warmed as a bit of his formal demeanor fell away. "This is an unexpected surprise."
She stared at him, eyes half-closed, lips parted, as if in confusion. It was then that he noticed just how red her cheeks were. As she exhaled, the scent of wine floated into the air. His immediate reaction was joyful surprise -- he'd hoped she'd eventually find the wine delivered to her rooms palatable. Apparently she found it quite palatable, as from her slightly-disheveled clothing and the sway to her posture, she must have consumed nearly all of it.
What happened next, however, would surprise him even more. In the brief moment he spent examining her condition, her confused expression wavered, her lip quivered, and tears swelled in her too-bright eyes. Panicking, he pushed open the door and gestured for her to enter. "Come in, please, have a seat."

Note
narrator: what pov do you like writing in best?
I think I have to say “Close 3rd Person”, always attempting to get closer and into the character’s head and describe things from their POV (which means going back and editing for things that don’t make sense to say in one’s head; not always successful at that). But if I want to swap to another character’s POV, it’s still possible to do so for narrative reasons. It works best in longer writing where that’s more likely to happen. I like the “freedom” of third.
I like first person more than I used to, for the immediacy and intimacy, and the likelihood of unreliable narration becomes more obvious, as it’s their definite in character perception without the figment of an outside narrator. First and close third should almost, at least functionally, be similar so far as experiencing the story through the character’s perception, but they each have a very different feel to them and what the narration can get away with.
I tend to keep first and second person for shorter pieces. Second especially when things are a bit strange or surreal. And sometimes, simply for clarity; I swapped to first person for many of the short “Ruminations” scenes, as I want to keep the WoL in those unnamed and pronouns were getting to be a hassle in some of them. It also lets me keep the WoL even more unidentified than defaulting to male or female or even neutral pronouns.
Thank you!
