Desi Ghee: Exactly How To Make It, Nourishment, Advantage For Health And Wellness, Skin As Well As Recipes
Food is a challenging subject. Especially, if you are attempting to chat, clarify and vouch by the benefits of standard foods - it makes it even more complicated. Even then let's try. Now, allow's make a checklist of all those components picking up on our kitchen shelves-- hand battered rice, cold-pressed cooking oils, unpolished pulses and also the listing is unlimited but hey wait! where's desi ghee?
Earthomaya Desi ghee? Exactly how is it various from normal ghee? Why is it so unique as well as how did it gain the precursor 'Desi?' Well. First things first. To put it exactly, desi ghee is made from pure cow's milk. It is generated after huge churning of buttermilk and also home heating butter at the ideal temperature level, in a standard method for that aromatic as well as abundant flavour.
Alright. If you thought, it's fascinating, let's speak more about very own desi ghee or simply cleared up butter as they simply put it in English. And also once again if you are asking yourself if the desi ghee as well claimed its position back and if it is really healthy - in the next couple of paragraphs, we will certainly be busting numerous misconceptions related to that golden colour, clear fluid with periodic solidified material drifting around-- as well as why, you must be making it a part of your staple diet plan, today!
There is no rejecting that ghee or ghrita, as they say in Sanskrit is our very own Indian invention. Each little drop has been supporting the human race for a many variety of generations, inhabiting a crucial function in rituals, as an important part of ancient medicine Ayurveda eventually ending up being an indivisible part of our lives.
The word ghee is created from the Sanskrit word ghr- which indicates sprinkle and also in Southern parts of India it is extensively known as Neyyi. Ghee inhabits a critical position be it in Vedic rituals, marital relationships, spiritual personalizeds as well as differed foods across India, Middle Eastern and also South East Asian countries.
Desi Ghee In Traditional Messages:

Muslims think ghee from grass-fed cows is both a shifaa (treatment) and dawaa (medication) for its variety of health and wellness and medicinal residential or commercial properties. It is likewise interesting to note that Buddhism attributes 'ghee' to the greatest order of understanding, often contrasting it to the last of 5 flavours in dairy-- milk, lotion or malai, curdled milk, butter and then ghee to Lotus and Paradise sutras-- the highest amongst all mentors.
Conventional Indian medicine recommends lights diyas, by dipping wicks made from pure cotton, in ghee to eliminate viruses, bacteria and various other contaminants airborne, at night hrs particularly during rainy and also winter seasons.

From being labelled as undesirable, fatty, a major contributor to weight gain, it is now trending as a superfood and also prior to we plunge into myths and also realities related to desi ghee, let's recognize, how specifically it is made.
How To Make Desi Ghee?
Desi ghee is made from A2 milk and also it is procured from Indian grass-fed cows with A2A2 gene. This milk does not consist of A1 protein and also contains just A2 beta-casein and also according to studies, A2 milk is much healthier than other sorts of milk.

In case, if you are utilizing store-bought ghee and also check the pureness, steam a dose above fire and also if it reddens, after that it is pure.

Ghee is additionally a rich source of Omega 3 and also Omega 6 and is loaded with vital amino acids.

Moments of Happiness in my Childhood
In complete contrast to todayâs digital entertainment and modern transport systems, my childhood was simple but I enjoyed some special moments and activities. I will pen down the experience from 1955 to 1965 (my age from 6 yrs to 15 yrs). Those were my school going days in Ahmedabad.
The first priority was sports and games. I was an avid fan of soft ball (tennis ball) cricket and played it with friends almost anywhere and anytime. We played on streets, in compound of bungalows, in open fields, on terraces and in balcony. We adopted the bat size (small or big) and bowling style (overhand or underhand) to suite the space. I picked up, after class 8, field hockey under an able coach, who was an ex-India player. I excelled in hockey to represent Gujarat State in inter-state school tournament in Shillong, Assam. Other games were desi. We played team games at school- Kabbadi and kho-kho. We played marbles and gulli danda. We also played a game where 7 flat stone pieces were heaped like a pyramid and two teams were involved. The defending team will use a ball and try to topple the pyramid. The other team will hit with the ball the members of the team who toppled it. The first team will try to resurrect the pyramid without getting hit. It was an interesting game. Unfortunately I forget the name.
I also enjoyed indoor games âplaying cards, carrom and chess among others. All these games were gender neutral and could be played with family or friends. One family, our neighbors, played chess with passion. The game would extend from one day to another and the chess board would remain untouched overnight.
Todayâs kids play mostly games with smart phone, laptop and computer in the comfort of their home. Most of these games are foreign to us. Some Desi versions may be available.
Second on the list was outside food. My grandmother and mother cooked traditional Maharashtrian food at home so outside food had to be different. Once in a while we went to Havmor (Gujarati spelling of HAVE MORE) restaurant, which served variety of ice cream, Dosa and Punjabi Samosa. Their Cassatta and truti-fruity ice cream were popular and our favourite. Occasionally, we would go to Chetna Restaurant, which served unlimited Gujarati thali. In summer, we would go to Law College Garden (popularly called âLoveâ Garden for obvious reasons) in the evening. We enjoyed the pot ice cream, bhel and ragda pattice. The garden had a restaurant where there was an imported juke box. The machine played selected song once you put in a coin and press the number against your choice. The robotic arm would pick up the LP disc and place it on turn table. The movement of the mechanism was fascinating. I also enjoyed going to the famous night market at Manek Chowk for titbits. Please note that pav bhaji had not appeared on the scene then.
Today eating out is no more an attraction as most urban families eat out once a week when Lady of the House keeps the kitchen closed, her off day.
I was fortunate that my father took us once in a while to see Hollywood comedy films of Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and Norman Wisdom. These films were either silent or English but neither hampered the laughter that got generated naturally. My father also introduced us to wild life through movies like African Safari and Hattari. The wild life depiction was so real and very engrossing. This experience was reinforced with visits to Kankaria, Ahmedabad zoo and Byculla, Bombay zoo ( Rani chi bag). One movie, which was most educational, was âAround the World in 80 daysâ. My father had briefly told us the story but the picturisation of various countries and the difficulties faced en route were very mind blowing for a child. I still recall the train being held up due to thousands of wild cows/cattle crossing the rail track in USA. After age of 12, I was allowed to see two Hindi movies a year (one after half yearly exam and another after annual exam) with my friends. Present day kids enjoy cartoons and other animated movies on TV or internet at home.
We eagerly used wait to go to a circus, which happened once a year. I have seen most of the famous circus of those days- Gemini ( Mera Naam Joker fame), Rajkamal, Appollo. As a child, I was quite impressed with the acrobats and animals showing their skills. But the most awaited act was by the jokers- small and tall or fat and thin as the pair might be. We enjoyed these acts so much that we used to try to enact them at home with friends after coming back. Today I never hear any urban kid having seen a live circus. My wife keeps pressing me to take her to a circus when we see advertisement of it in Pune local newspapers. We saw one virtual Rambo performance last year on laptop during lockdown.
We, as kids, looked forward to two festivals â Divali and Makar sankrant (Uttarayan). Divali meant new clothes and fire crackers. Shopping for the fire crackers was exciting as we would go late at night to a whole sale market to seek bargain and rub shoulders with the crowds. Makar Sankrant meant kite flying day. The preparation would start with getting the âmanjaâ (special thread) and then buying various types of kites from the night market. On the day (Jan 14) kite flying would start early morning and end late evening. The food, Undhyu (a Gujarati mix veg specialty) and Jalebi, would be served on the terrace. I believe kids enjoy these festivals, on a smaller scale, even today.
I enjoyed various rides (not roller coaster type). I started using city bus to go to school from age of 8. I started using bicycle in high school. I recall our long cycle ride to Theur Ganesh temple in Pune during summer holidays. I used to look forward to train journey to our native place in Maharashra for summer holidays. We made transit halt at Bombay (Mumbai now). I loved the ride in horse carriage (called Victoria) from Chinchpkali to Bombay Central or Byculla Zoo. I also used to take ride in double decker bus in the front row on upper deck from Chinchpokali to Ballard Pier and back. Once in awhile I took the double decker tram from Lal Bag to Fountain. Both these rides gave a good view of the major parts of Bombay and were the best time pass.
In conclusion, I can state that the academic performance, where I excelled, never gave me the kick (happiness) as the above mundane activities did. I had no access to TV, WiFi-smart phone, tablet, and laptop. For some readers, it may be difficult to appreciate my feeling of happiness at such most common acts. Each person finds his own moments of happiness, I guess.

Struggling in the kitchen? Here are some hacks to help you
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/struggling-in-the-kitchen-here-are-some-hacks-to-help-you/
Struggling in the kitchen? Here are some hacks to help you
No-oven cake
Feeling the urge to bake a delicious cake but donât have an oven or even the ârightâ ingredients? How about batter made with glucose biscuits in a pressure cooker?
New Delhi-based food blogger and cookbook author Shivesh Bhatia explains his popular five-ingredient cake (no flour, no egg), âYou start by preheating the cooker (close the lid without the whistle) on medium heat for 10 minutes. This makes sure that once your batter (in a greased pan) goes in, itâs hot enough for the cooking process to start. Use a wire rack or plate to make sure that the bottom of the cooker doesnât touch your baking pan. I donât like adding water because then it gives more of a steamed texture.â
Stating that anyone can make the cake, he adds, âI wanted to simplify it so that even people using a cooker for the first time can make it. It takes about 50 minutes for the cake to cook on an induction stove, but the baking time varies; I always suggest keeping an eye on it.â
As for the all-important question of taste, Shivesh says, âHonestly, the texture is as good as any regular cake. If you did a blind taste test, I donât think anyone will be able to guess that this cake is made with only glucose biscuits. That is the best part, because you get a great dessert without compromising on the taste.â
Extra hack
Waffles are one dessert that everyone loves but a waffle iron is a gadget that is not commonly available in Indian households. Instead of the iron, use a sandwich-maker or griller to make the waffles. It actually does such a great job and I think this is a great hack that everyone can try.
Mug pizza
Mug cakes may be well known, but are you familiar with mug pizza and mug mac ân cheese? Bengaluru-based food blogger Richa Gupta of the My Food Story channel says, âMug recipes are popular because when youâre watching something late in the night, you just want something to eat and these recipes are really fast and easy. You donât even need egg. All my mug recipes are eggless; they are made in a microwave and are quick and easy.â
So how does one make these dishes? Says Richa, âFor the pizza, we use baking soda as a leavening agent and so you get that bready sort of texture in the base when it cooks in the microwave. Then you add sauce, cheese and toppings and the top part cooks and gives you that pizza-like taste. The mac ânâ cheese takes about eight minutes to make in a microwave. The reason for that is the pasta has to cook; itâs not like the pasta can cook in two minutes just because itâs in a microwave. After that, it is another 30 or 40 seconds when you add the milk, cheese and cornflower powder. And the texture is very similar to a regular pasta: creamy and cheesy.â
Extra hack
My favourite hack, if you have forgotten to soak channa or rajma overnight, is to take a casserole or anything with a tight lid, fill it with hot water, add the beans, a little bit of salt, cover it, and leave it aside for one hour. The hot water and salt will do the trick and the beans will be the same as if you had soaked it overnight.
Steamed egg curry
For Sarvesh Devanandan of the Instagram page âA Bite Of Chennaiâ, a story on cooking eggs in an idli steamer gave him the idea to take it one step further and make an egg curry.
âI had watched an Instagram video of eggs being steamed and then toasted on a pan with some pepper, chilli powder and curry leaves. Thatâs what I wanted to make initially. Then, I had this idea of changing my motherâs recipe. She used to make tomato curry, where she would add the raw egg to it when it was boiling. But the eggs would become messy and also overcooked. So, I thought of adding steamed eggs to the curry. It turned out really well. The eggs were fluffy, soft and stayed intact.â
Extra hack
When we make egg dosa, we usually make the dosa first and then spread the egg on it. Instead, mix the egg in the batter and cook it. You donât get the dosa texture, but it does become very fluffy. And it goes really well with any gravy or chutney.

New Post What Amazon Echo Spot Can do in India? How Visual Alexa takes Interactions to Next Level? has been published on http://www.reviewcenter.in/8250/what-amazon-echo-spot-can-do-in-india/
What Amazon Echo Spot Can do in India? How Visual Alexa takes Interactions to Next Level?
Amazon Echo Spot, the most versatile visual AI assistant yet in India, is the most useful Assistant I have ever come across. Imagine this device as an AI which gives the answers visually and aurally both. It can show you things and can surprise you with his abilities which cannot be covered in one single article. If you want to see current weather, news flash, set the alarm, play music, do audio/video calls, watch videos, maintain the calendar, get answers visually and much more, Echo Spot is your companion to help you with all. Before knowing what Echo Spot can do, watching below embedded video can help you understand more about the device first:
What Amazon Echo Spot can do in India?
The Echo Spot can do everything the Alexa Assistant manages on other Echo speakers, but it takes the interaction to next level by including a visual element. This device has a 2.5inch round LCD Screen (480Ă480 resolution). While the display size isnât much large, the idea behind is to make the screen available for personal use, not for watching movies and TV shows, although you could do that on it if you want. You can also connect external speakers to the Echo Spot using the Audio Out port. Here are the major features one must know about Echo Spot if youâre considering to buy one:
What Amazon Echo Spot Can do in India?
Drop-in Calls (Like a CCTV)
The very first thing I wished Echo Spot to do was to do (hands-free) video calls without requiring user interaction to pick the call on Echo Spot. Turns out, it is possible using the Drop-in feature. You can make audio and video calls to your Echo Spot using the Mobile Application from your phone or directly from another Echo Spot without requiring from the other side to pick the call. The calls connect automatically, and you can see whatâs happening on the other side. I use this feature a lot to see whatâs going on at kids room when I am out at the office.
If there are privacy concerns, then you turn-off this feature, thereby requiring the person on another side to accept the audio/video call. By default, this feature is turned off and has to be activated once. You can also give other family members the access to make drop-in calls on your Echo Spot. The caller can also turn off the display of his/her camera & audio too during a call, making it one-way video communication like a CCTV.
Regarding the camera quality, itâs quite good and doesnât disappoint, although it requires normal lighting in the room for the camera to work best (no night vision). The audio pickup is fantastic, thanks to beam-forming technology & noise cancellation, Echo Spot can hear the voice of the person sitting even from 3-6 meters away.
Make Audio/Video Calls
You can make audio/video calls from Echo Spot to Echo Spot, Echo Spot to Alexa App in any phone and vice versa. You can command Echo Spot to call the person like âAlexa, Call Nehaâ and by default itâll start making a video call to the concerned person. The person on the other end, after picking the call, can choose to turn off their camera if required making it 2-sided audio call and one-sided video call. The audio/video call requires the Internet to work and is not dependent on any telecom network.
Playing Youtube Videos
Although there is no Youtube app in Echo Spot, nor there are any hacks to make youtube work on it. Still, Alexa can play videos from Youtube for you on Echo Spot. It uses the Bing search to search the video you asked for and play the top result. Although it doesnât always play the correct video, it works fine for most of the popular music videos available on Youtube.
Play Music
Alexa on Echo Spot supports playing music from many popular services like Amazon Prime Music, Saavn and Tune-in. Echo Spot also shows a thumbnail of the song on display with controllers. You can also ask Alexa to play a song of your favourite artist, specific genre or mood or any particular playlists youâve on Prime Music or Saavn.
Tune-in is for playing LIVE radio stations like you can say âAlexa, Play Mirchi Radio Stationâ and itâll start broadcasting it. Amazon Prime customers get free access to Amazon Prime Music which is a huge library, and you can find almost any song in it.
Get Information Visually Instantly
Echo Spot can show you the latest news flash from NDTV, Times Now, ESPN Cricinfo, Aaj Tak and more. Ask her about cricket scores, movie ratings, general knowledge questions, local businesses, to tell you a joke, make a conversation, whatâs trending, questions related to Sports, Places, Entertainment, Horoscope, Education, Politics & Business, Traffic, Weather and much more.

To know more about what Alexa Assistant can do in India with supported skills, see this article. I regularly update this article with new commands being included in Alexa for India.
Control Smart Devices
Controlling smart devices & its wide compatibility is what made Alexa so popular worldwide. Alexa has around 70% market share worldwide of AI speakers which speaks for itself for the popularity of same. Same way, using Echo Plus, you can control a wide variety of devices and having a display helps as it shows some controls on display too like I can adjust the light brightness via voice or from the display of Echo Spot, both!
Echo Spot can automatically discover the Alexa compatible smart devices on the connected Wifi network and would show instructions to connect to them. After that, you can enable the respective skill of that smart device to control it via voice commands.
You can also group smart devices in a room like you might want to group light and fan in one group, and then by saying, âAlexa, turn on [group name]â would turn ON both devices for you at the same time.
Consumers can control a wide array of products using Alexa in India including smart lights from brands such as Philips Hue, Syska, TP-Link and more. Smart Plugs have made it simpler for consumers to make any appliance in their home connected to Alexa and voice controlled. Alexa is happy to resolve the eternal conflict of who will get up to switch on the geyser in the morning, all they have to say is âAlexa, switch on the geyserâ.
Various Indian startups such as Oakter and Smarteefi have also become popular with customers. The ecosystem is rapidly growing in India with other popular smart plug brands such as Thrumm, TP-Link, Vetaar by Anchor and Crabtree by Havellsâs addition to the Alexa Smart Home skills store in India.
Alexa compatible devices list is increasing fast in India, and there are quite a good number of popular brands who now sell Alexa compatible smart home devices in India. Hereâs a list of brands up to my knowledge who sell Alexa compatible products:
Philips Hue Tp-link Oakter D-Link SYSKA SONY Yeelight iRobot Mi-Light Sonoff Bose Netgear KACOOL Smarteefi Verna Crafts HOIN TCL Grayhats HomeMate NISHICA OVIBO iBall Harman Kardon XORB Wipro Eufy Anchor WIQD Silvan Sirus TESCO Thrumm Crabtree
Iâll keep updating the list with more brands/products as soon as theyâre launched.
Monitor CCTV / Smart Camera Feed
If you have a compatible smart home camera, you can use Echo Spot to access the live camera feed on display. The length of streaming time depends on your camera model & settings, and upon reaching the limit, the feed automatically times out. You can command Alexa to âShow [camera name]â, and itâll start streaming the live feed from the camera.
Create Routines
Unlike creating a group of devices, routines allow you to add multiple actions and run them using one command. For example, just say âAlexa, movie night!â and Alexa can be programmed to switch on the TV, dim the lights and turn on the AC simultaneously. Watch the below-given video to understand more:
youtube
Read Kindle Books
You can anytime command the Alexa on Echo Spot to read you a Kindle book. Alexa can read the books purchased from Kindle store and Borrowed from Kindle Unlimited or Prime Reading.
A Special Place in the Kitchen
Especially because of the display, Echo Spot gets a special space in the Kitchen because of the convenience it offers to the users. Echo Spot can make your âtime in the kitchenâ more interactive and enjoyable. You can use Echo Spot to turn on your kitchen lights when your hands are full to reach the switch; it can help you turn on other appliances like coffee machine, induction cooktop, toaster, chimney or anything.
Echo Spot can show you recipes from popular chefs like Tarla Dalal and Sanjeev Kapoor, also help you in reading the recipe instructions step-by-step along with your cooking. If youâre a fitness freak, you can also ask Alexa on Echo Spot questions like how many calories does an Omelette have compared to Dosa. Also, you can enjoy your favourite music while you put your culinary skills to use.
With compatible devices, Echo Spot can also control your microwave, set timers, bake and much more. If you run of out any stuff in the kitchen, you can immediately ask Alexa to add that stuff in the shopping list or could directly purchase it if youâre a prime member. Use Echo Spot to remind you for specific tasks like de-frosting the chicken in the evening before you start making the dinner.
With Alexa, you can be the boss who does things the âsmart wayâ in the kitchen too!

Love unsaid.
So.. starting again. May be this time to end it. Somethings are just difficult to get over. And you are one of it. Yes â kâ you. Itâs not that I did not try , I tried harder than anyone ever could. Hopefully my last attempt would end it. What is â it â I just donât know. Maybe I will by the end of this. 11thjanuary 2016 : I was already being influenced by you by then. The previous night I couldnât sleep. I know itâs strange. Nothing such happened to me before. You were hanging out with my best friend. Well I was enjoying the way you were trying to pull my leg but I was equally jealous. We knew nothing was the same between us. My eyes could see your eyes searching for me when I was doing the same in the crowd. Iâm sorry I left last night to the room early because I couldnât really understand what was wrong with me. Itâs almost 3:30 pm now.. I havenât seen you since morning. Especially after last night I really wanted to see you. Then I see you.. coming with shweta. Jealous? No I was actually disturbed. I was Getting ready for the program. The actual purpose for which I was there in Rajasthan that day. You entered the room I was fine by then. You came and sat next to me. I did not know how to react. It seemed as if you were normal. Talking to everyone except me . You did talk but maybe not as much as I was expecting. Then again Mr. Akshay couldnât bear it.. so he purposely sent you out. Then again you came. This time he took the chocolate from the pocket of your grey T-shirt . And you said it was for everyone. Huh! The program was done. I was expecting you to come to me. Talk to me. At least something about my dance. No. Then on my way I see you guys sitting on the other side of the apartment where akshay was staying. She was eating a chocolate. Wow. So it was for her. Anyways why is it disturbing me so much. Iâm not supposed to care about it. I saw you staring at me for few seconds. I was really upset. I still donât know why. I changed and came out . Unexpectedly wearing a grey T-shirt which I realized later. Everyone has decided to go a roam the town on their own for the night. And you asked what I was waiting for . .â shall we guys Go for dinner together ? â and without a second thought we 5 ( you me shweta snehal and ram) left for dinner. Then it started. Our conversation. The actual one. As we were walking through the lanes of udaipur we found our first love â THE SOUTH INDIAN TIFFINSâ with a tag 150rs/- unlimited and 100/- limited. Shweta and I went Gaga over it because we have been to the place just the previous night. As we entered we sat on the table left to us.. I ran and sat on the sofa because I love to sit on the closed end of the table. As I saw, you silently came and sat next to me , I had no idea about what was going on in your mind. I mean itâs me who started liking you but not you. And as we started with the idly , uthapam ,dosa and wada.. emptying the chutney jar and as the person was staring at us both especially as if we are hogging like pigs.. all I could see or hear was you. I could see the discomfort on your face when ram was flirting with me. And after we were done and we left we started talking about kites and languages. And as we grabbed an auto to the market.. me sitting next to the driver and you all behind.. I loved it when you sang âfatimaâ I did not understand a bit of it but you sang it for me. And it was beautiful. As we got down and started walking boom! Power cut. We were on the main road. That is when you grabbed my hand. And asked me to stay next to you as it wasnât safe. But you did not leave my hand even after the power had come. We were being normal you and I talking about everything on the road. I forgot the world . And when we have gone to shop for ram.. I knew we couldnât stay away. As you held me by my shoulder and we deciding his clothes.. you said I feel like a daddy. And that was something so adorable I could ever hear especially from you. And the coffee shop where again you sat next to me this time a bit closer.. as we discussed why werenât we friends before today.. you said you thought I was of different level and I wouldnât talk with you all.. that was so stupid. And then you said looking straight into my eyes.. â I was wrongâ . You donât know how I felt. It was beyond description. As we walked out of the shop into the dark lane.. you offered me your elbow and as I held you.. you whispered into my ear saying stay close . I knew.. I knew by then it was not just from my side. I could feel it from your touch. It wasnât just physical. I could feel our hearts lightening up in that dark street. It was fresh. It was beautiful. It was something that had never happened to me. I wished the road never ended. And as we walked to our quarters.. I wanted to say stay back for the night. I couldnât. And as you said good night.. our eyes had an other story to say. You left. Did not turn around. But as you reached the corner of the lane.. my phone beeped . A message from you â€
