Sure, Baghra can mistreat Aleksander- he's her son-, but the moment he strikes back, all hell breaks loose. Not to mention his "punishment" takes form of a childhood trick she herself could at least attempt to dispel, except that would require her to summon, and she'd lose her veil of victimhood. And why give up her badge of authenticity?

How hard is she NOT summoning, if it aged her up so badly?

This is Aleksander's punishment for disobeying her- speeding up her withering away. She used to be constantly cold, but youthful. Does that mean she's avoiding summoning to prevent accidentally or instinctively clearing her own eyes, so now she's quickly aging as a welcome side-effect?

There's no mention of nearness to merzost having effect on aging. It's draining the person using it, so even if her blindfold couldn't be removed by Baghra herself (Arguable, given her age, likely knowledge and set of powers.), she shouldn't look like shit due to its presence.

Did he finally achieve what he attempted all those years ago?

Is his grasp on merzost so strong he can truly manipulate it for his purposes like his grandfather did?

Is he truly a leap closer to getting what he fights for?

Am I insignificant to him now?

As if she ever acted with loyalty or support towards him and his cause.

Sacrifice suggests intention. Baghra didn't know what will be Aleksander's reaction, we have no idea, what her expectations looked like, so assuming she's some tortured heroine, martyr to a cause, is erroneous.

Something something about Frodo and Steve and how they both cannot rest after All is said and done and the evil is banished because their hearts are too tainted, and Steve is struggling, really struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel after years of fighting and violence and loneliness, and it only really clicks for other people when he’s at Eddie’s house one day, having either finished reading return or the king, or having Eddie explain the end to him - and Steve mutters something about wanting go into the west.

Eddie can see the change in Steve’s expression as he explains it. Can see the mix of pain and understanding. Steve nods after eddie finishes explaining, conversation carries on but Steve doesn’t stop thinking about Frodo and the similar feelings he’s having.

Steve is quiet more and more, cloud vision that Robin, Eddie and Dustin all notice and all checkin with each other on. They don’t want to prod him into talking if he isn’t ready but they knowing something isn’t quite Right with him.

It’s takes a few weeks but eventually, when he’s really tired and about to fall asleep he tells Eddie. Says he feels like Frodo and tries to explain but he’s so tired, talks about how he can’t get the feeling to stop and he’s so so tired. Eddie holds him as he sleeps, thinks all the possibilities over then settles on it being the Frodo speech and the inability to rest. Eddie kisses Steve’s temple, tells him it’ll be okay, that they’ll go west. Steve is half awake, pulls Eddie tighter, hums into his chest

‘Mmm, Thank you. Can’t go without everyone though. Not like Frodo. Can’t leave them. Promise we won’t?’

Eddie can hear the fatigue in Steves voice but can hear the love mixed in it to

‘Promise. Let’s sleep now though. I got you’

Hands of hips looking down shaking my head I don't know how to sugarcoat this so I won't but signs is so much better than nope. I don't know how people even say the movie aged bad. I think the feelings they have for the director cloud their view (I don't even know how either of his names). You got a 1:30hs movie vs a 2hs movie (I'm cutting the 10 minutes of credit for both) where in one you are never bored and are gripped by emotions and the other where you sit waiting for anything to happen. you ever think about how bobby probably resented his mother and brother for leaving? like not even consciously but i think there was this underlying feeling that left a divide. like bobby knew his dad was suffering. he said "he needs me." and he adored him. he was too young to be able to see that it didnt justify taking that suffering out on his family but that was bobbys hero... and then his mother and brother left and bobby couldnt save his dad from himself. and he knew just one sure way to deal with that suffering. so even when his mother came and got him, he couldnt just fall into her arms. in part because he blamed himself. he couldnt reach for that comfort. he hadnt saved him. but she had left.

Since just like Sirius Black, Ominis ends up leaving behind his family and their pure-blood supremacy ways, not wishing to follow his family's ways.

After graduation, if Sebastian was around and not sent to Azkaban, Ominis stays with him and Anne while trying to pick up his career as an Auror. Once he makes enough money to financially support himself, he either moves into his own place or helps support the Sallow twins.

And just like I stated in the last headcanon, despite not having much contact with his other family members anymore, as an Auror, Ominis manages to keep tabs on them. This is how he eventually finds out he has a niece and nephew named Merope and Morfin through one of his older brothers, Marvolo.

I'm still sticking by the fact that Ominis would have tried to help his niece, Merope, knowing what it was like to be abused by his brother and only imagining her enduring the same. I mean...there was a reason that Marvolo Gaunt was kept an eye on by the Ministry of Magic (and yes, I'm saying it's partially because of Ominis working for them and doing so, not just because Marvolo was also not known for his subtly, attacking Muggles.)

So, yes, Ominis sent Bob Ogden after Marvolo and Morfin. Ominis was among the reinforcements sent to capture Marvolo and Morfin, sending them to Wizengamot and being a key person in having especially Marvolo convicted.

Depending on if it's talked about in writing/plotting or not, I like to believe Ominis would return to his niece, giving her some money to help her become financially stable and letting her know she is free from his brother's torment now. She can live her own life, making Ominis a guardian angel of sorts for Merope. If she mentions wanting to marry a Muggle, Ominis encourages her to follow her heart (he just doesn't know what lengths his niece will go to for it.)

It's also crazy to think he's in his mid 40s when all this is happening, while Merope is still a teenager.

He keeps an eye on Merope, especially after hearing Marvolo is released.

It's crazy and sad to think that Ominis would have been 52 when Merope gave birth to Tom Marvolo Riddle in 1926. Ominis is of course heartbroken to hear about his niece's death, having lost his brother a little before too, but he is happy to hear he has a great-nephew out there. Now it's only Ominis, Mofrin and Tom as the last descendants of Gaunt and Salazar Slytherin.

And again, just like with Merope, depending on if it's talked about in writing/plotting, I also like to think Ominis would have kept an eye on his great-nephew or at least knows about him.

Come 1943, Ominis' age is already starting to seriously show. He's at least 68 now and despite all threats and dangers, manages to continue living a long and some-what happy life. Although it's mostly been full of grief...and it's not stopping there. His nephew, Morfin, is sent to Azkaban for the rest of his days and his great-nephew has turned into a dark wizard...

Let's just hope his wand wood type of being Pine is right about it's owners being "destined for long lives."

No one look at me Desmond fled from the brotherhood which was basically just a cult under his father's oversight with no plan or expecting of what could be on the other side. He literally just fucking walked out the door and didn't stop running even when his mother yelled out for him. He makes me so so sad this is ILLEGAL!!!!
