not a particularly clever or witty ask here, but i for one would absolutely love to read some of your incomprehensible paragraphs about star warriors and/or how they do or don't reflect into the mirror world and/or mir falspar's bone to pick, if you ever felt like writing them 👀👀

The rambling continues! Tacking this on as an extensive part two for the previous post, which deals with star warriors and their known traits. Here, I'll dive into the effect of star warriors on the mirrorworld (or lack there of), along with Mir Falspar's choice thoughts regarding the matter.

Essentially, star warrior have zero bearing on the Mirror World. No reflections of this realm were "chosen" by the stars to do anything, as they exist outside of Gamble Galaxy's dimensional plane, and outside of Nightmare's conflict. The stars can't reach them here, and the Dimension Mirror cannot bestow that kind of intangible power in their place*. This is only emphasized by the Mirror World's lack of urgency, it's a stagnant place, with no real driving force of change. Star warriors just aren't necessary.

Moving away from star warriors themselves, Mir Falspar's ill-will towards the matter extends from one significant point, and one alone: his counterpart, Sir Falspar. To really understand why he's so incensed though, we need to take a few steps back, and look at Falspar himself.

Falspar of the lightworld is, of course, a star warrior, and a general of the Galaxy Soldier Army. Falspar is a star warrior, so everything else is secondary. His fate in the lightworld has already been decided, and it says right there in bold that he's meant to fight for the galaxy, up until the bitter end. Falspar, like all star warriors, is supposed to be possessed by this innate instinct, spurred forward with the need to give everything he has no matter what it costs, because his duty is to the stars, and the stars alone.

But Falspar's never been sure he truly wants to give up his life for this cause.

This doesn't mean he won't, but it heavily impacts his approach when tackling a crisis. It's more along the lines of wanting cake and to eat it too. He wants to succeed at defeating Nightmare and he wants to live to see it with all his friends by his side. When something requires a sacrifice, he looks for another way. He bends the rules to protect those he cares about, and to protect himself. He fights against his nature as a star warrior, against something that should not be a choice, and smothers it down to become something else. To define his own path.

Mir Falspar, by contrast, does not believe he can do the same. How is it fair, that his counterpart can defy the stars, can turn on his very nature like that? That his counterpart gets to be a star warrior, in the side of the world where such a thing is honored and necessary, and choose to go against it.

This facet of Sir Falspar is not an obvious thing, you'd be hard-pressed finding anyone who even suspects it. Falspar never verbalizes these kind of thoughts, or anything regarding his doubt about remaining in the GSA. He's a general, he can't do that. He can't bring himself to even confide about that kind of thing to Garlude or Dragato. He just lives with it, beneath everything, and keeps testing the extent of his luck over and over and over again, keeps hoping there will always be another way.

But Mir Falspar is his reverse, and Mir Falspar knows him the way only a reflection knows their counterpart.

Falspar defies his fate in order to live without the key component of sacrifice that being a star warrior demands. Mir Falspar cannot fathom a world where he is not that sacrifice, obligated to trade his life again and again and again so that those who need his protection can live on instead.

To put it short, Mir Falspar despises his counterpart for the failure of a star warrior he is, in his eyes, and by extent the very notion of it. What does the concept of star warriors even matter, then, given all that. Why does it matter if you're "chosen" to be one, if you can just back out and refuse. Why can't Mir Falspar do the same. Falspar is the reason Mir Falspar is too "good" for the standards of the Mirror World, isn't he? He's the reason the mirror saw fit not to give Mir Falspar any choice. The reason he was made this way. The reason he cannot change.

So, why couldn't you have been a bit better, Mir Falspar is plagued with wondering, so that I could have been a bit worse?

*there is one exception to this case.

Crazy realization I had about Kankri Vantas

So most people who play Openbound usually skip his dialogue (which isn't entirely unfair because he loves to 6lah) and this is on top of some optional dialogue so I don't doubt most people skipping this. But something really interesting I noticed is when he's having this conversation with Latula

A LOT of people will most likely chalk this conversation up to Kankri being a misogynist, considering he lists all these traits and then goes "all while 6eing a girl, n9 less."

But if you take this conversation along with the context of Latula's conversation with Porrim.

We find out that Latula's whole "Gamer girl" thing is a facade to try and show that "girls can be cool too". But what does this have to do with Kankri?

Well, considering that Kankri is a Seer of Blood, then it's actually likely that Kankri knows about this facade of Latula and her insecurities involving her gender. Thus his "all while 6eing a girl, n9 less." is actually Kankri attempting to give Latula validation about her own gender struggles and that he does genuinely care about gender on Beforus (if he didn't, he really wouldn't bring up Latula being a girl), and only acts like he doesn't care because of his disdain for Porrim. Not to mention that he does canonically have flushed feelings for Latula and makes more or less weird observations about her, so him knowing her struggles involving image and gender wouldn't be too far of a stretch. I love observing the dynamics between the Dancestors and discovering new things about them. This is why I read EVERY PIECE OF DIALOGUE IN OPENBOUND!!!

Why do Izzy and Steven seem so forgotten to most GNR fans? Most of them are only interested in Axl and Slash and maybe Duff will come soon after. Right, I understand that each person can identify more with certain members but it’s as if the others do not exist or as if it is not interesting enough to have your attention. Sorry to say this, but Steven is much better than Sorum and Izzy is as important as Axl. He has the greatest compositions of the band and I agree with everything Alan said about him, he was and always will be the heart of that band.

It’s not really surprising, it happens all the time and it will keep happening in every band that exists. The one who is conventionally attractive gets all the praise, and people suddenly forget everyone else. Unfortunately, the talent isn’t always as important as the looks of the members. It’s pretty sad but what can i say? Pretty privilege, am i right?

It’s really disappointing to see people talk shit about Izzy and Steven, i mean even if you don’t like their skills or their ways, how can you be such an asshole? Steven is literally the sweetest soul ever. He has been through a lot and i don’t think he deserves the hate he gets. That man survived 28 ODs, three failed suicide attempts, two heart attacks, and a debilitating stroke, and god knows what else, he spent his whole life struggling, but not many of the so called “fans” are interested in this, why should they research the other band members? Who gives a shit!!!

They also forget that Izzy was the co-founder of the band, the one who practically kept them together, the most creative one (at least from my perspective). He was an incredible songwriter, a player and also a friend. Without him gnr wouldn’t be what it is today. Be fucking thankful.

Just finished watching squid game s1 and I didn't realize the two old ladies were different people (I don't think they ever share a scene even though they seem to be coworkers?) so the entire time I thought Gi hun and Sang Woo were brothers and was confused when they said 'your mom' instead of 'our mom' (thought maybe it was a translation error in the subtitles since I wasn't watching on netflix cough cough) and it only clicked when Sang woo's mom talked about Gi hun's mom and. I just had the whole show recontextualized for me at 1am. Thought this was a moses and ramesses situation

Your tags on the sacrificial virgin post make me want to know everything about your OCs, especially this Ivy Rose! What's Ivy Rose like? What story holds them?

ok so! Ivy Rose Lohaun is from my story Red Eyes Take Warning, which is..... a lot. it's actually an in-universe comic series in my Eldritchverse setting, and it starts out as a parody of those generic isekai mangas, before gettting Weird as the author is unknowingly long-term exposed to eldritch horrors a little bit.

I don't have any proper art of Ivy Rose but here's what I do have... most of the RETW characters were inspired by ai gen images (*BACK WHEN AI WAS A WEIRD EXPERIMENTAL TYPEA THING) so this is his

and also this is an Arknights au version of him (he is not normally snakeboy)

and I am still sort of figuring out his lore but what I've currently got is that he inherited some sorta really rare special powers (according to my notes he is a witch, something different from mages. but I think I'm going to make it specialer than just that) and there is some sort of curse or prophecy on his family, that anyone born with those powers will die in some circumstances, and trying to evade this always results in things going really bad (possibly involving said powers?) but the curse/prophecy/whatever is vague enough that when he transes his gender, it manages to fulfill the prophecy / neutralize the curse / whatever.

anyway most of that is kind of just background lore, his actual role in the story is that. he starts out as a 'girl' in disguise as a guy (he is closeted/eggmode at this point) and under the name Lohaun he joins Gavin's party (Gavin is the classic isekai hero guy. he's also just a massive jerk) to go adventuring and stuff and also to get away from the gilded cage of richgirl life. then he gets 'found out' as a girl (this is a trope that happens sometimes where the 'crossdressing' character gets found out and then goes back to their 'real' gender like they're fine with it. I don't like this trope very much so he's like a deconstruction or subversion or smth of it.) and briefly tries just going back to girlhood, before deciding that, actually, he'd rather be a guy. so he tries out a couple different combinations of gender terms + presentations, before eventually settling on using he/they, presenting femininely, and using his firstnames and his surname interchangeably. Gavin, being the asshole he is, at first is disappointed by Lohaun deciding to identify as a boy (because the rest* of the party is sort of harem-adjacent, as tends to happen in these isekais)but then they're like "well I'm still pretty and here so does my gender really matter that much" (they don't want him to ditch them) and so he's like "alright I guess I'm 'straight with an exception' now"

*that is, the rest of the party except for 1. Emery (too beefy for Gavin's tastes, as well as too aroace and autistic to fawn over some asshole guy) and 2. Enzo/Elodie (it is 10 years old.)
