key lime and cherry vanilla with whoever you want!
key lime: kita and my aesthetic is very much cottage core minimalist. quilts and canisters, old paintings, antique wood, boots, work coats, dust, flowers.
cherry vanilla: osamu shows his affection to me by knowing exactly what i need in that moment. whether im sad, tired, upset, happy, or just needing to wind down

Yall I just realized. Malleus and Leona are both royalty. Kalim is the heir to one of the richest families in the world. Idia is implied to be even richer then that. None of them have any real concept of how much things cost, Idia might but he's likely never worried about the cost so I can think that he'd never paid much attention to it. Ortho is probably in a similar boat, his only advantage is having infinite access to the internet, but I still don't thin he'd be fully aware of exactly how much money certain things are worth. Even Vil, who's famous in his own right was raised as a child actor by an already well known actor; he was raised with money. Sebek is from the lineage of a well known general who probably got a pretty decent fortune besides his own family's business. Riddle's parents are both doctors, so with him being raised by his mom, either dad is paying child support or just travels a lot for work and either way he's probably pretty well off.
Literally every other character in the main cast is a normal ass person from a normal ass family and is either pretty solidly somewhere in the middle class or dirt fucking poor (poor Ruggie).
Which means the only functional rich kid you would never expect to have money in the main cast is fucking Silver.

honestly, I just go to trader joe's and buy their matcha green tea latte mix (that is the entire product name if u have a tj's) and they have instructions on the container depending on if you want it hot or iced! I add some milk if I want to stretch it out more without it being too watery. I'm sure using authentic matcha would be better but I am a kitchen noob and this is very quick and easy (and cheap!) so I'm happy with it :) doing the mixing with the whisk for real matcha looks like it'd be super fun tho lol
oooh okay good to know. i do have a tjs thank GOD it’s been months and i’m so excited. i’ll snag some of that next time. i love to make fun treats and drinks so this will be very fun heehee i have a much bigger kitchen so i’m stoked!!! what are your plans this weekend??

I’m thinking about how Wasteland, Baby was a call to action and a tongue-and-cheek acceptance of the end of the world. And how Eat Your Young and Unreal Unearth are about the nine circles of Hell, about the afterlife, about the consequences after death. I’m thinking about one album cover being under water and another being buried under earth, about NFWMB “ain’t it like thunder under earth the sound it makes”, about Unreal Unearth and unearthing something, un-burial, about Like Real People Do “what did you bury before those hands pulled me from the earth.”
I’m thinking Eat Your Young, about Kronos’ mythology, about hunger for and to keep power, about gluttony. I’m thinking about Swan Upon Leda, about the lust Zeus had for Leda, about the greed of man over bodies, about who is the sinner. I’m thinking about angels, about their lack of power in Swan Upon Leda “could never belong to angels”, about their fall from grace in the “Unknown” song “I thought you were like an angel/going unknown as any angel/you called me angel.”
I’m thinking about Hozier.

Since the original study widely circulated on tumblr (and around the country - it was cited in the Supreme Court by Justice Jackson), I thought some of you might be interested to know that a reanalysis of the study data which found that black babies die more often in the care of white doctors discovered that the original study did not control for birth weight under 1500 grams, the single strongest predictor of infant mortality, and the weight which accounts for 66% of mortality among white babies and 81% of black babies. The reanalysis found that when "extremely low" birth weight is accounted for, the association of physician race and infant mortality becomes statistically insignificant.
There is inequity under the surface here: black babies are more likely to have lower birth weight, and white doctors are more likely to care for lower birth weight babies. Why black physicians are such a small percentage of neonatologists (who care for most premature and low weight infants), even when considering how underrepresented black Americans are in the physician workforce period, and why black babies twice as likely to be born at life-threatening birth weights as white babies (which may even be related to disparities in the quality of maternal healthcare given to black mothers!) really, truly may indicate serious, systemic issues of racism in healthcare. It's very likely that they do! But it is genuinely dangerous to reach for easy, poorly supported (and in this case, untrue!) outcome associations because they give us a clear boogeyman. We have to beware the uncomplicated fix.
In this case, patient-physican racial matching (to use the study's term) would not improve the outcomes of black infants. The time, money, and resources spent advocating for this fix should belong to projects that actually save the lives of black preemies. It's a good reminder (for myself too, I totally bought the first study!) to approach even studies that conform to our expectations with health skepticism, especially when they have such serious implications.

We report: a truce with the rain, tonight, and from what we can tell, the clouds are more sparse than they have been in quite a few nights. Nonetheless, the persistent wind has not stopped blowing for the past week, and it happily pulls tears and snot from our ruddy face.
