Audi have signed Swiss racing pro Neel Jani as their new simulator driver as they take the next step in developing a power unit for their Formula 1 project. Jani, 39, is a former test and reserve driver for Red Bull Racing and, as a member of the Porsche factory team, he won the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2016 as well as the famous 24-hour race at Le Mans. German brand Audi announced last summer that they would enter F1 from 2026, when new regulations come in, and would be building their own power unit. Mario Gabriele Andretti (and his twin brother Aldo) was born in Montona (now it'a a Croatian village known as Motovun), which at the time it was part of the Kingdom of Italy but at the end of WWII was annexed by Yugoslavia. As a result of the Istrian-Dalmatian exodus, his family decided to leave in 1948 and ended up in a refugee camp in Lucca (Italy). That's when his father thought about moving in the United States, since he maintained contact with his brother-in-law who lived in the the US for a long time; it took them three years to get a Visa and in 1955 they managed to move to Nazareth in Pennsylvania's Leigh Valley. Mario's father specified that they would to America for five years then return to Italy, but they never did, in fact in 1964 he became a naturalized United States citizen.

His first 'involvement' in motorsport was at the age of five, when he and his twin brother used to race with hand-crafted wooden cars through the streets of their home town, but his real first approach to motorsport with a real car was when he and Aldo took part in races at an oval dirt track near Nazareth in 1959, they didn't tell their parents they were racing, but eventually they found out after Aldo had an accident at the end of the season; even though their parents weren't that happy, Mario decided to continue with his mototrsport career.

After spending years taking part in sprint races and competing in IndyCar, he made his F1 debut in 1968, after he met Colin Chapman (owner of the Lotus Team) in 1965 at his first Indianapolis 500, Colin told him to call when he was ready to enter the world of F1, after three years he made his debut at the United States GP, where he took the pole position. Afterwards his debut he drove in F1 sporadically because he was often busy racing in America; it wasn't until 1975 that he completed a full F1 season and in 1978 he won his first and only F1 World Championship. In 1981 he had an unsuccessful season with the Alfa Romeo team and stated, like many other drivers at the time, that the cars were starting to be difficult to drive, so it made it easier for him to leave the sport; consequently in 1982 he returned to IndyCar racing until 1994. During his time in F1 he drove for Lotus (x2), March, Ferrari (x2), Parnelli, Alfa Romeo and Williams.

Mario is considered one of the most successful American drivers in the history of motorsport, in fact is one of only two drivers (the other is Dan Gurney) to have won races in Formula 1, IndyCar, the World Sportscar Championship and NASCAR; in addition to his 1978 World Championship he won four IndyCar titles.

Gold Arm is the first built out of a set of three specially designed leaguers under the banner of Dark Sports Foundation, trained to play rough and win at all costs. Though able to play several sports, his specialty is in baseball, where he is a deadly pitcher who can knock out any leaguer who hits one of his balls, easily winning any game.

Despite his arrogant and initially villainous nature, he is a good team player and has always possessed great loyalty towards his two brothers, valuing them above all else and finding greater power through the strength of their bond. He gains additional character growth through interactions with the heroic Silver Castle, inspired by their determination in the face of overwhelming odds. Even after losing to them, he learns to simply appreciate a game well-played, and shows a surprising maturity and gentleness belied by his hot-headed bravado.

Dark Sports is not so forgiving of losses, and condemns Gold Arm and his brothers to “forced retirement”—namely wiping their memories before sending them away to war over resources on foreign planets. Silver Castle members rescue them, and they abandon Dark to train on their own, now with a full commitment to playing fair, and they aid their now-friendly rivals several times over the course of their adventures.

They eventually rejoin Dark out of desperation to play against Silver Castle in the championships, but never return to their old dirty playing style, and are happy to keep participating in exciting games as fairness becomes the norm.

Porsche announced Tuesday that it will return to the highest levels of international prototype racing on both sides of the Atlantic in 2023 with a new LMDh car that will campaign for Porsche Motorsport in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
