an interesting point i remembered that i will tack on to that last post is that lime gets cocky post-timeskip. the m-34th trained him enough so that he can spar with her (as seriously as they can as friends) and win, and from what he sees from her power now/remembers seeing from her power before, he considers himself on-par with her.

so he can take mochi in a fight. and 98% of things mochi can take in a fight, he can too.

but at some point they encounter that 2% of things that lime cant do. and for the first time he gets to see the raw unhindered destructive power of the cat witch in her prime, and its that oh-too-familiar humbling feeling. to see the kind of shit shes capable of just makes the whole guild fall silent

and its STILL true that he can take her in a fight, which gives him comfort, but he realizes that the ONLY reason thats still true is because of the witch's oath of not taking life

Sculptor is a scientist who got approval to collect samples from other planets in person, despite not being entirely qualified for space travel. Ecliptica is the captain of the ship, and is aware she'll lose her job if Sculptor does something stupid and gets hurt. They didn't even leave orbit before getting kidnapped. Ecliptica <- slightly taller (than Sculptor) defense-based space outfit (claws, spikes, etc)

Despite her attempt to seem neutral, it is clear the gorgon is excited by the prospect, eyes gleaming eagerly as she leans forward. "I think it would suit you beautifully."

athena had never thought about beauty like this before. she knew she was beautiful. every goddess possessed the kind of beauty mortals dreamed about, lusted after, killed for. athena was well aware that her appearance could draw the gaze as quickly as her prowess in battle could. never had she doubted this fact to be true, even in the moments when her mind and body could not reconcile their differences.

but there was a difference between being beautiful and feeling beautiful. one that athena did not know existed until the praise came from medusa's lips. this time, athena felt the truth deep in her bones - for if her love said it, it had to be true. if medusa believed she was beautiful, then athena was just that, right to her core.

"rouge?" athena murmured, eyeing the makeup curiously. she had seen it on other women, admired the look. but until this moment, she had been too nervous to try. "if you are going to do it, i suppose that would be alright."

that would be fine, wouldn't it? medusa had a steady hand. and if she thought it would make athena more beautiful, well... perhaps she owed it to the nature of discovery and progress to try. "what must i do?"
