What is it like to be working in a government hospital versus in a private hospital.

Before akala ko parehas lang ang private and government hospitals pagdating sa pamamalakad or service na binibigay nila sa tao, like with compassionate heart and soft hearted, mabilis resulta ganyan or 24 hrs lang din like I know medyo fantasy yung pag iisip ko sa point na yon haha pero wala naman masama na nag expect sa ganon and never naman ako nag assume na same situation ang bawat hospitals, so syempre iba ang management so iba din talaga.

In my junior internship naka private hospital ako. Lahat air con kahit saan ka mapunta even sa hallway kaya kahit buong araw ka naka sweater okay lang, lahat digital, you'll pay thousands, you can get the result ng procedure na pinagawa mo agad like pwede 24hrs or after 4 hrs. But still depende yon per department. Your life is smooth pa din kapag nasa private ka kahit may mga cases din na may nang aaway na patient. Syaka sa private per schedule ang ibang procedures bawal ka mag walk in and depende pa din syempre lalo na kung madami patient. Sa ER, kapag nagpa ER ka sa private na check up ka lang thousand na yon. If you want makatipid use your HMO card or Phil Health card din. Check ups are not free of course. The wards are all aircon so good thing kapag nasa private ka.

When I arrived sa government hospital nakapag expect na din ako na hindi naman talaga malamig doon, meron naman aircon sa loob nga lang ng mga department. Pero depende pa din syempre, then halos lahat ng ward wala naman talaga aircon, open window lang din. Super nagustuhan ko din sa government kasi kahit mainit sa hallway pero malinis haha, ewan ko pala sa ibang government hospital pero doon sa currently where I am duty is malinis. Syaka sa government ang dami normal sakanila doon hahahaha na hindi normal kapag nasa private hospital ka.

Government hospitals some check ups usually are free lang, then kung sa private hospital kasi thousand ang babayaran mo for procedures sa government naman nasa 2 to 4 digits depende sa ipapagawa mo pero kung xray nasa 2 to 3 digits lang example 60 php Chest PA ewan ko lang sa iba na government hospital. Madami nga lang masusungit sa government haha pero masaya mag work doon. Ang laki ng culture shock ko pagdating ko sa government kasi umaga pa lang sobrang dami na dumadating although konti lang OPD pero sunod sunod ang ER namin, may nang aaway na patient, sobrang demanding sa results which is matagal talaga process ng resulta sa government kasi hindi naman kami gumagamit doon ng PACS ganyan, mas madami pala away doon then dadating pa at some point na magpapakilala sila na nag wowork sa cityhall tapos gusto pagawa agad ang procedure kahit na hindi pwede kasi sarado na at tapos na ang oras. Then ito yung pinaka ayaw ko sa lahat! Akala nila porket working ka sa government yung iba akala ata nila may karapatan na sila maliitin yung mga nagwowork na medical staff doon. Lahat ng patient priority hindi lang isa patient namin sobrang dami! At madalas libre sa government sa hospital. Some machines na gamit namin ay manual and yung iba digital.

Things are so amazing in these past few days. Okay na din at nakapag adjust na ako ang layo nga lang ng byahe pero okay na din haha.

Day 2/30 of productivity

So today I've studied for a 2ish (maybe more) hours. I wanted to do more but with this heat (34°C w/ 60% humidity) it's very difficult to stay focused. Biblio was full so I couldn't go there either.

Tbh I'm a little anxious for tomorrow, it will be my first day of internship plus I'm so scared to miss the bus to go there (I've actually dreamt of this last night). Wish me luck 🍀

I did go to uni but it was really roudy and i realised i could get on a zoom lecture so i should have done that instead. Also our schedule wasn't updated i guess cuz i went to the wrong lecture.

Afterwards i just went to the library and tried to study. I couldn't go to my usual library so i went to the local one. It had really bad heating so i froze my ass off. The librarians there were really lovely though and we talked a lot. They gave me some book recommendations for the winter holidays that I'm very grateful for.

🪐 finished the problem set for ch.3 of microeconomics

I wanted to do the problem set for the fourth chapter too but i was sick of being in that library even though the people were lovely. I just wanted to go home and actually i was missing my library so i just went home.

Most of my time this last month has gone to my internship and the exhaustion that leads to me dissociating while i watch Dimension 20.

One good thing that came from today was that the librarian told me about a bigger library that i think i might like in my city so I'm gonna check that one out. Wish me luck.

thank you for asking though !!!! because i am still writing in my drafts, maybe next week after my exams, i'm still trying to manage my schedule and now that i'm a month in, i already know the ropes, plus rn i'm assigned at the more busy parts of the laboratory and every shift makes me want to sleep immediately and prepare for the next shift but in a few weeks we will be rotating and finally moving to the less busy areas so i might have more time to write and actually post my drafts n e ways!!!! here are my drafts which you might see that i've written it over a month ago but that's what internship does to me so 💪

One of the last journals of the year deserves to be as colourful as this 2024 was for me. The 4 subjects in university were done gracefully! The internship is finally getting some good form and I'm feeling like I can show my colleagues what I'm doing, my results. I'm feeling at home. The company's party was awesome and I had a lot of fun. This year was perfect.

And as my memories fly away to bring 2025 new ones, I wanted to briefly thank everyone who's been with me since my small start on this study blog. Next year, my first promise is to be more active here. It's good to look back to the old memories when you're in a different phase of life.

Finally found an internship!

Sometimes things happens when you least expect it and sometimes things doesn't work out because God is leading you to the direction that is meant for you.

For a very long time i have been looking for different places for internships and send a lot of applications. But i have only got rejections after rejections. As the deadline came closer i got very desperate and even applied for internships for projects that did not interest me. At this point i just wanted to gain some experience no matter what. After the last rejection, i gave up as i thought that maybe this was just not meant for me.

On a random day i just looked at my university app. I did not know what i was looking for, i was just looking. The first thing i see is a post from a company looking for interns for a special project. I was curious and e-mailed the company if they still were looking for interns. They replied really quick that they were still looking and that they would love to talk to me! So i went there after a couple a days for an interview and i got the internship the day after.

The entire process was so easy compared to the other places that i applied for and i really think it is because God was leading me to it. Alhamdulillah.

Every now and then I remember the times I would mention to my flatmate that I was thinking of buying myself something reasonably expensive (that I had been eyeing up for months and had budgeted for) and she'd tell me that I shouldn't spend that much money on something I didn't need and it would be stupid etc etc while she regularly impulse bought things that cost at least as much and she would use once (while complaining that she was under a lot of financial stress and couldn't afford <$3/week for 2 months for a rental washing machine when ours broke). She is... perhaps not my first call for financial advice

Hiii im back <3

The month of November

So I went through the midterm season and started an internship but didn't manage to come on here and write an update.

Honestly, i had a lot of productive days but at the end of them i had zero energy left to write up a post for my productivity challenge. I'll forgive myself for that cuz there's nothing that can be done about it and i don't like carrying the weight of it.

I still don't know what i got on my exams. I had one in calculus and one in microeconomics. My uni's on strike right now so i was hoping to use that time to catch up on the material that i missed because of my internship.

Some stuff about my internship: its six month's long, i just finished the first month; its three days a week and the other two i have lectures; it's paid but it doesn't pay a lot; we're getting an excel training and i just found out that at the end of the course there will be an exam and we'll get certificates. I have a crush on this girl who's also an intern there. I rarely if ever have crushes. I also need new friends so i just hope she'll stick around.

I really really want to pass both of my classes this semester. I carry a tremendous amount of anxiety surrounding this.
