not sure what to call it yet, but i've got a funky AU in the works thats a combo of a pantheon AU and a timeloop AU

like... what if Joker came first before ren/akira did? what if he was conjured out of thin air as entertainment for the gods. he's a literal jester this time. no substance, switching out masks as needed, no identity, just big reactions that everyone can find amusing. something something devils and fey are both connected to the air, and ren adapts to anything thrown at him as easily as breathing. what if his biggest fear- that he is nothing when no one needs anything from him... was actually real?

and what if Joker, who can't be pinned down no matter what, found someone who is like him, but isn't?

Joker is unreal, almost cartoon. Crow is *real* he's a gladiator under the thumb of the god of control. sweat on his brow, blood under his fingernails, he was made for this and can't be anything else. he's chained to a life where he must perform to survive, and performing means acting out violence. Crows who are so good at survival and yet are still seen as pests and annoyances, dirty and lesser than. they're scavengers. what if goro's biggest fears are real? that he is a puppet. that violence was baked into him from the very start

and what if Joker saw Crow, resigned to his fate, convinced there can be nothing else... and decided he didn't like that. decided that a Trickster ought to get up to a bit of mischief.

what if Joker was the one who started the wager between the god of control and the god of hope. who whispered in their ears about what fun it'd be to play a game. the stakes being the world, and the prize being Crow's freedom.

Joker going back through time, loop after time loop, and meeting with Crow in between. Crow starting out scornful and mocking and then increasingly worried (which just manifests as more anger). what will become of them after he succeeds? they're nothing. they're no one. when Joker wins this bargain (because Crow has seen how determined he is. he knows it's just a matter of time), they'll be released of their chains and then dissipate into air, and the gods will all laugh that they were so full of hubris as to think themselves people

i'm just REALLY into the idea that humanity is made through experiences and connections to other people, and i think that deep down, both goro and ren are scared they're not all the way real. i want to prove them wrong!

and unfortunately apparently the "Cuter" line is not even originally Akechi's. The line originally belongs to Futaba as Navi and is also properly voiced.

The line being used for Akechi sprite must be just a natural replacement or something because there's no indication that the uploader edited it in himself.

Ah well, a shipper can dream 😔. I still wanna hear Robbie say the line.

So, I heard about the existence of this line according to an Akeshu comic but I didn't see it in any videos documenting Akechi's Navigation Quotes but then I found THIS video. It is real!

Unfortunately it looks like the line was translated but never voiced. There's one for Yoshizawa turning into a mouse too but that dialogue didn't even get the courtesy of being translated to English so I have no idea what he says for her.

"Joker's a mouse! He's cuter, but he can't do anything!" - Akechi.

I'm sorry sir, what?

Got Akeshu / Shuake on the brain. Can you believe that people in the Persona 5 fandom used to be bullied hardcore for liking Akechi? I remember cosplayers being harassed. Argh. Anyway, his fans and the Akeshu shippers ATE when Royal came out (that I don’t have, I’ve only played vanilla Persona 5). Sure, bullying still happens because people suck but it’s less because of Royal.

I think Akechi is a funny guy, and Akira yearns for what he can’t have (Akira also yearns to date the other guys too). Akechi also makes me sad but let’s focus on him being a silly guy :3 that Akira has an unfortunate crush on <3 I love the tragedy of it all :)

SAY, would any of you be interested in physical copies of those akeshu comics i made? they would be similar to this (but with better formatting & possibly, maybe, a new cover), come with a sticker, and probably cost around $15-18 (+ shipping, which i'm estimating to be about $5)

i love a good mutual obsession. i just fuckin love when two characters are like i don't know if i like you or hate you but i DO know you occupy my brain 32/7 because ithink about you even when im sleeping </3 . i LOOOOOVE when two characters are like we are so diametrically opposed in every direction which means in fact that you are the only person who understands me on this planet and you know me better than anyone else and unfortunately we are connected in a way neither of us can do anything about. and also, gun

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

im really compelled by both ren and akc being characters who for one reason or another are both generally, like, people whose true selves are not known by the people around them? who then meet each other and are like, oh. you're me. in a way i barely recognise. like ren is quiet and trying to keep his head down and has been repeatedly punished for standing up for his values, he interacts with people based on what he thinks they need to hear / what will make them think of hi mfavourably / etc like some of that is meta that comes from him being the player character but theres also a lot in his visible personality that really points to him being a very carefully masked person. akc is akc is a person and has never been able to show his true self to anyone ever and has in fact forgotten how to do it because he's been playing a part for so long. so these two like, meeting and SEEING each other almost instantly despite being so, so different in so many ways, and then just being so drawn to each other for reasons beyond just what they can do for each other when the majority of their other relationships have had at least a small element of that transactional nature is just. ughrughgd. gshjlg sjglk dgedghdgd. what if you were more to me than what i could do for you for the first time in my life

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I hope this experience doesnt taint your thoughts of Akeshu and fandom, I've seen alot of kindness towards Yuka today and hope that you know there will always be someone who will smile from the things you post, even if its just a funny headcanon or ramble about joker. Me and many others can vouch for that

It's okay to make mistakes, you just have to be mindful and learn from them. Many people know you have good intentions and we can't possibly please everyone especially people who just want to cause conflict. I've always been the type who wants to remain quiet in fandoms, I just wanna yap all day long to the void. I've just wanted to share the things I like with like minded people, I never thought I'd get to interact with such a cool community like this.

Even though this is the case, it is easy for me to move from fandoms if I end up surrounded by too much negativity. Even if that negativity is not directly on me, seeing it all the time makes me not have fun. I have too many times experienced conflicting ideals with EN fandom, so I've always avoided interacting with it in all my previous fandoms.

I enjoyed my time here and just let it happen, I didn't think it'd ever get to the point where my opinions and thoughts would ever mean anything to others, I'm literally just an otaku.

I feel like I am unwelcome in this fandom because I feel ridiculed for having preferences, somehow it's become a topic on morals again. I am exhausted. I did my best to explain in the most neutral, educational way I could. However it always goes back to this, all the time, without fail, I am hit by feelings yakuza and people twisting my words.

I've never once said that people need to do things my way, I only raise awareness because people genuinely don't know the distinctions since it's shipping etiquette derived from Asia fandom. Perhaps my straightforwardness comes across as entitled and blunt, but I'm just honest, to a fault maybe. But why is it that because I said I like pancakes it suddenly means I think waffles shouldn't exist? Those are two different sentences...

I've mentioned in my past posts that it's the first time I've been in such an active fandom like this. I really do appreciate you all. It is the only thing that is making me hesitate about deleting this blog to be honest, like I said, I really like this community!

So instead I'll step back, since I'm not ready to let go of akeshu buuuuut idk. I do feel it's best for me to step back in general and stop interacting as much, I think. Being too open about things is not always a good thing, I have learn from this mistake and will strive to be mindful as you said!!
