Left my sibling at 5 and drove for 11.5 hours home. Which is an odd experience because. I’m exhausted. My head hurts and my eyes are tired. But I like it so much. I wish I didn’t come home. I wish I’d detoured and seen the coast. Or crater lake. Three 11.6 hour days in a row. With greasy diner meals. Listening to my shows and music. Thinking my thoughts. Telling myself stories.

Fun fact, back when I worked at Dave and Busters and was told I needed to work labor day, I asked if we'd get holiday pay for it and my manager literally didn't answer; he just laughed at me and walked away. I'm glad there are places that at least offer holiday pay since they want retail and service workers to work on labor day.

that's beyond fucked up. it should totally be required by law for working on federal holidays to get the overtime pay??? sorry but if the country considers it an important enough day to give themselves off, the folk who have to work should be properly compensated.

I hope you coincidentally were 'out of town' or 'sick' on holidays cause fuck that manager

I think if people took a fraction of the time they spend arguing about whether or not people should use the term “content” for art/writing online and instead used it to tip/commission creators and send nice comments and spread their work the world would be a better place but maybe that’s just me

I’m was a sociology major I haven’t had to touch math and logic problems with a ten foot pole since 2018/19.

and these two scientists! the skydancer is jacob, he's a necromancer-artificer and the one who built talus, but talus won't listen to any of his commands and he has no idea how to turn it off lmao. the mirror is dr. artis, she makes war machines for fun.
