since it's pride month, i want to highlight my favorite underrated/underappreciated queer characters and ships! (part 1/???)

Lake - Infinity Train (non-canon)

it's not canon but you cannot tell me that Lake isn't an allegory for trans/nb people. her arc is so beautiful and her character resonates with me so much!

i have to admit, i actually kinda hated her in the beginning because of how aggressive and rude she was, but she actually gets good character development and you can also understand why she was the way she was, being a good representation of a minority who is constantly suffering because of the social norms she’s forced into. also i don’t ship her with jesse but i do like the idea of them in a qpr or just being platonic besties.

(i use she/her pronouns for Lake because that's what they use in the series, but also because not all non-binary people use they/them, and it's kinda weird to see people insist on using they/them for Lake just because she's nb-coded. she has never shown an aversion to bring referred to with she/her pronouns.)

Le Chevre x El Topo - Carmen Sandiego (canon)

they are side characters who don't play a huge role in the narrative but they are a really cute couple and have been confirmed to be canon! even without the confirmation, it’s clear that they were written to be a romantic couple.

mild spoiler: after the series ends, they stop being antagonists and instead put up a food truck together! it’s the cutest thing, i swear

Ryan x Min-gi - Infinity Train (non-canon)

my OTP through and through! i say non-canon but the romance is so heavily implied, you cannot ignore it.

they're a good example of childhood friends who had a complicated relationship where both individuals did something wrong, but in the end, they grow as people and manage to mend their relationship together.

Moomin x Snufkin - Moominvalley (canon)

i have only read one of the books and watched a few clips of these two characters but from that alone, it's clear that they were written as lovers (and the author is queer too!)

they are a beautiful portrayal of long-distance relationship where both individuals have different needs in life, but still want to be with each other regardless.

Terrestrius / Terry - The Dragon Prince (canon)

Terry is canonically transmasc and they actually manage to explain this in the series, without making it sound too forced or expository. he's such a sweetheart too, and his relationship with Claudia is actually really sweet, despite the fact that she's one of the villains.

Carmen x Julia - Carmen Sandiego (non-canon)

again, i say non-canon but it is heavily implied that they have feelings for each other, especially in the extra interactive episode, where Carmen leaves a bouquet of red roses for Julia, and Julia is shown to blush when receiving them.

Amaya x Janai - The Dragon Prince (canon)

what’s that? it’s actually possible to write an enemies to lovers romance that is healthy and not extremely abusive?

Amaya and Janai have such a good relationship in S5 (and Amaya is also a great disabled representation!) Janai actually learns sign language to communicate with Amaya, and there are no unnecessary miscommunication plots or drama, they’re just a really loving wlw couple.

Benson x Troy - Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (canon)

when i say we need more mlm ships in animated media!! i’m so glad us sapphics are getting a lot of representation but it’s time cartoons started including more queer men.

benson and troy are just a really sweet couple with a good relationship that doesn’t have a ton of pining or unnecessary angst. while i love complex and tragic queer relationships, i also think that it’s good to show teenagers just being teenagers sometimes.

this opinion seems to be scarce in the queer community, which really annoys me tbh.

Raine x Eda - The Owl House (canon)

i cannot believe that given the popularity of TOH, Raeda is still such an overlooked ship. this might be an unpopular opinion but Raeda is better written and has more chemistry than Lumity and Huntlow.

just within the span of Raine's introductory episode, they managed to establish a clearly romantic past between these two characters, and also an interesting dynamic. and even though they didn't have much screentime, they still turned out to be the best ship in the series. (again, just my opinion, don't come at me)

i think it's so important to show older queer people in media, just as it is important to show younger queer characters. it helps establish the fact that queerness has always existed and isn't some newfound trend that social media invented. not to mention, raeda is one of the very few canon ships that include a non-binary character.

I think both ships are fairly rated tbh. Charlos is one of the bigger ships outside the 'main' ones and Carlando is world famous lol

Carlando rarely appeals to me personally. I just dont like how Carlos and Lando are portrayed a lot of the time in terms of dynamic, like lando always being the soft uwu baby and carlos the dominant top, but when I find a fic i vibe with I do enjoy it. Basically, people should let Lando top

Charlos? Probably my otp. The irl chemistry is there. The drama is there. They were both drowning in Ferrari together, they're closely matched and feirce competitors. They lose themsleves in the sport and reach out to the other because, well, they are trapped in it together. Its just.... augh i love it

1.)Ninja Storm

Fav Character: We know this already its Dustin, he really is loveable and whether people like or dislike the season they aren't allowed to hate him

Fav Female Character: Very much enjoyed Tori and her interactions with the team, I think she worked well as the first female blue alongside being a freaking water elemental like she's underrated as hell.

My OTP: Hunter/Dustin, I have this in the morning, lunch and dinner. Honestly need to stop making doomed scenarios for them, love it better when they are happy with each other.

My NOTP: Nothing really tbh that i can think, I guess I'm not too huge on Marah/Dustin unless they are only platonic, Tori/Cam is a no go unless it's like poly.

My Other Ships: we love Cam/Shane in this house and Tori/Blake(add Kapri in the mix sometimes). Not a ship per se but firm believer Lothor dated some of the men in the academy back in the past, I mean it was an all guys school before Miko.

My Least Favorite Character: None really.

My Favorite Episode: The Wild Wipeout

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Dustin, Shane, Hunter, could alternate. I'm more Dustin coded so I'd fit right in😭

2.)Dino Thunder

Fav Character: Trent and Ethan, both goated characters in my book

Fav Female Character: We love Kira and Cassidy.

My OTP: Conner/Trent or Conner/Trent/Ethan/Kira where Trent in both of those is being loved and held closely at all times

My NOTP: unless it's poly I'm not really a big fan of Kira/Conner unless they are platonic ngl. Tommy/Elsa is more of laughs instead of love for me.

My Other Ships: Conner/Ethan is a really good one and anything involving Cassidy/Devin/Trent is fun(thank you @augment-techs for this). Also rare but with how the episode ended with them making up I kinda have a Derrick/Ethan one where Ethan shows him more science.

My Least Favorite Character: Unsure if I have one tbh..

My Favorite Episode: Lost in Translation and Thunder Storm, also bummed it was the last time we saw the Ninja Storm team outside of Tori, 20 years since…

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Conner could be handled well but I'd have to keep him informed on things not to say out of pocket and Trent and I would get along well together with our artsy sides(unsure if Anton would approve of me but let's guilt trip him)

3.)SPD

Fav Character: Bridge is peak

Fav Female Character: I love me some Syd and a firm believer that she should've become a red ranger

My OTP: Sky/Jack is cute along with Jack/Bridge/Sky

My NOTP: None tbh, I think there are a good amount of options for everyone here.

My Other Ships: Sky/Nick would've been chaotic if Mystic Force got their crossover. The nepotism in this one is powerful, Cruger/Merrick/RJ/Zen-Aku cause howl☠️☠️☠️

My Least Favorite Character: not a character but Sky's attitude at the beginning, he became better as we went on but Mrs.Tate should've arrived and smacked him across the head

My Favorite Episode: TBD but abridged is pretty good imo

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Jack is hot but he'd spite me for being taller than him, Sky I could get around along with Bridge.

4.)Mystic Force

Fav Character: Chip is undefeated

Fav Female Character: We stan Vida in this house for obvious reason.

My OTP: Vida/Necrolai is awesome and will never not be iconic, Daggeron/Xander kinda got me thinking lately(both pairings rival each other).

My NOTP: Leelee with anyone on the team.

My Other Ships: Nick/Sky, We shall not break up Udonna/Leanbow unless they are widows☠️

My Least Favorite Character: Don't have any but whoever was picking on Xander for his accent as a child needs to be dealt with, if Chase was in this universe he'd comfort Xander

My Favorite Episode: Dark Wish is awesome and legend mode is epic as hell

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Xander and Daggeron would be at the top of my list, getting magic'd all over the place if a catch my drift☠️

5.)Operation Overdrive

Fav Character: Mack is adorable

Fav Female Character: Rose a genius, an icon and is the moment

My OTP: Mack/Tyzonn works well, Will with anyone on the team works as well

My NOTP: Nothing much but Rose seems more into girls, like ships with the guys are okay but she definitely kisses the ladies

My Other Ships: Hear me out, Andrew/Tarrick as doomed fathers...but who's the wife in this situation?

My Least Favorite Character: no least favorite character but I hate how some of the Fandom is rude to Samuel Benta but doesn't have the same energy for ASJ

My Favorite Episode: TBD

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Mack and Tyzonn could work for me.

6.)Jungle Fury(MY SHOWWW)

Fav Character: arguably it's RJ, funny mentor, skilled, purple, werewolf, hot as fuck

Fav Female Character: Lily and Camille are epic, also standing ovation to Anna Hutchinson's acting cause her voice range is wild.

My OTP: Casey/RJ...I've been on this app for threeish years we all know this, along with Casey/Jarrod. THAT TWINK HAD EVERYONE IN SHAMBLES.

My NOTP: Casey/Lily, unless you have a poly thing going on keep them separated cause she's like a bigger sister tbh.

My Other Ships: Theo/Lily, Jarrod/Camille, Fran/Dom along with RJ/Merrick cause I love those wolves together.

My Least Favorite Character: Dai Shi's a punk ass bitch for fumbling the greatness of Camille

My Favorite Episode: The Phantom Beast arcs as a whole since we got more of the awesome showcase of the rinshi beasts along with Jarrod and Camille's beautiful rinzin forms. Also the penultimate episode with Casey saving Jarrod and fighting Dai Shi like...so selfless yet fans say he was a crybaby and had no character development??? Sure okay.

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Casey, RJ and Jarrod.

Fav Character: Ziggy

Fav Female Character: Dr K is innocent of all crimes and we protect her.

My OTP: Ziggy/Dillon is so adorable along with Scott in the mix, Flynn pretty much with anyone works as well in my eyes

My NOTP: I guess it's okay but I'm not a big fan of Dillon/Summer.

My Other Ships: rare but the idea is Flynn/Trent with the idea Gemma introduced them during the crossover.

My Least Favorite Character: Fuck Venjix for making not only their lives worse but any ranger teams in this universe.

My Favorite Episode: TBD

Who I Would Date Off The Show: At the same Scott and Flynn, separately Dillon cause I'd like to be the sunshine for him(but also cause he could protect me).

Voice of the Cold for the ask game, i hope I got here first D:

OMG, you did! :D And I am so happy to answer about Cold.

First impression

Pretty sure my first impression was of him in the Spectre route, and I was curious, a bit positively inclined, mostly on the strengths of how well he fit how we got him and also how hot his voice was. 😔 Yeah, I'll admit it. I looked forward to seeing more from him and was intrigued by the seeming discrepancy between his "emotionless" claims and his blatant grudge against the Narrator.

Impression now

I LOVE COLD SO MUCH. Ohhh, he is as much of a trauma response as the rest of them and is both driven to keep himself safe and also experience something new (which is itself not safe) and also not care about safety... He is dismissive and deeply caring and he can't stand stagnancy and yet he feels at home when everything unravels into the Long Quiet. One of my Top 3 faves I think.

Favorite moment

There are a lot of moments I could choose here but I think I still have to give it to my bias: Cold in the Wraith chapter alongside Paranoid. Especially this sequence:

This has lived rent-free in my head since I first saw it, it just hits me so hard in a "none of them are fully wrong but none are fully right either" way and says so much about Cold in the context of other things... Especially the absolutely wild "If you can tolerate joy, you can tolerate pain" line, like UM EXCUSE ME?

(But the whole chapter is great, with Cheated as well as with Paranoid, but I have a bias for so many moments with the Paranoid version, like the "you think you are brave" line from Wraith and the fact that Cold must have helped with the efforts to toss the body into the void... Wraith is a severely underrated chapter, I feel!)

Idea for a story

Look, because of the way I fandom, all my ideas are for shipfic and ParaCold is 1000% my OTP, soooo...

That said, a specific idea I've actually had that I still kinda want to use with something, that I may have mentioned before, is Hunted making a point that they need each other (as a group) and at their best they cover each others' blind spots and shore up each others' weak points.

When Cold pulls something along the lines of his "I'm special" thing, Hunted ends up challenging him to a "play" fight (no actual wounds being left, "wounds" marked with something like chalk or berry juice or something, fake blade, etc.). And by the time Cold calls that he's "killed" Hunted (and so obviously he's right that he doesn't need help/he has no weak spots that actually matter), Hunted can point out that he's managed to land enough "minor" blows that Cold would be bleeding out by now too, because he doesn't guard himself at all.

(I also kinda want to look more into a super queer TTRPG called Moonlight on Roseville Beach because I wanna play around a bit with an AU for it where the six possible player character "origin stories" are filled by Hero, Contrarian, Cold, Paranoid, the Princess, and the Narrator... "[In] Moonlight on Roseville Beach, it's the summer of 1979 and you work in the village by day while protecting yourself, your housemates, and your neighbors from supernatural monstrosities and occult horrors by night," and it's in a queernorm setting where LGBTQIA+ characters are considered the norm, with a "focus on queer people succeeding at keeping themselves and their communities safe (at least for a time).")

Unpopular opinion

TBH I also agree that Cold isn't all that edgy. I think he's quite straightforward most of the time and definitely has some issues -- I think he likes prodding at some of the other characters more than some people realize but also less than some people act like, he really does jump to "we could stab" very quickly as a response, he seems happy to encourage potential violence against himself if he finds it interesting in some way, he has a surprisingly big ego -- but also blatantly cares despite how he often talks, is curious and wants new things, and seems to like connecting with the other voices and even, sometimes, the vessels.

I also think he isn't as hard to get along with as some people think, in the sense of, I think he has like three different "modes" when it comes to interacting with people:

He vibes with how you do things, in which case he goes along quite well, is agreeable and calm, and seems to like you. (Skeptic in the Drowned Grey chapter is a clear example, but so is Cheated in the Wraith I think; IMO Hero and Hunted would go here as well.)

There's enough push-and-pull there that he finds you interesting, in which case he can get a bit intense, prod you some just to see the push back, might sometimes go along just to see what you'll do, and it's a bit harder to tell if he likes you (but honestly he does). (IMO Paranoid would go here, and I do actually think Smitten goes here as well.)

Neither of the above apply, in which case he's just bored of you, and if forced into constant proximity with you, annoyed. (Stubborn in MOC is the most blatant example; IMO Broken would go here as well, ironically outside of if you somehow managed to get Cold alongside him in the Tower route.)

(The first two can be true simultaneously for some people; I feel like Contrarian would be in both. Weirdly, I feel like Opportunist is somehow in both #2 and #3? Stubborn could eventually go into #2, under better circumstances. And the Narrator fits a special category of "fuck you" where He doesn't quite fit #2 but there are some similarities, Cold just doesn't like Him.)

...This got a bit weird and long and out of Unpopular Opinion territory, huh. WELL, TL;DR Cold isn't edgy and actually likes a good number of the other voices.

Favorite relationship

I mean, y'all can guess this one, right? >_>

No, but honestly, as a ship it's definitely ParaCold. But in a totally platonic way, I also really love his dynamic with Hero in the Spectre route, especially if you free Her, and with Skeptic in the Drowned Grey chapter (okay, okay, I can see that one as either platonic or shippy). And his dynamic with the Narrator fascinates me but I can't ever see them getting along.

Favorite headcanon

I love the idea that Cold picks up new things all the time, and whether he sticks with them or not he gets surprisingly good at them first. Skills, hobbies, other languages. I can imagine his handwriting getting better more quickly than a lot of the other voices because of this, and him also managing to bond with the others over doing their hobbies with them.

How I feel about this character: I really like him, but uh…in canon, he’s just fine. He’s much cooler in fanfics, canon dropped the ball on him. He should’ve been more Comics Future Flash, less Comics Savitar/Zoom 2.0

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Reverb 💞

(Also Iris and Cisco, but like...not in an actual relationship lol more in a toxic one-sided kind of way. The dynamic intrigues me)

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Barry (you might've noticed I don’t tend to ship doppelgängers 😅 but I do love their platonic dynamics, I feel like that says a lot about them!)

Killer Frost would be here if Savitar ever treated her as an equal 💀 unfortunately, he didn’t (it baffles me how some fics act like he canonically did?? She was very much his underling, that’s no secret)

My unpopular opinion about this character: he was terrible in s3 apart from the episodes where he was unmasked. Everything else was a waste of time

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Get rid of the scar, have him impersonate Barry throughout s3. Sporadically, and without alerting Barry, but in such a way that he slowly erodes Barry’s relationships and makes him think he’s crazy. You can even still have the Flashpoint meta nonsense going on in the background...but here, it’s a distraction, and it’s working. And then, either to us or to Barry, reveal Savitar unmasked by like...episode 10 or 15 or something. Maybe just to us in episode 10, and to Barry in like...episode 17 or 20

Then cut out the amnesia plot or make Savitar central to that episode. And just like that, he’s more of a threatening presence without trying to make him a Zoom knock-off.

I have another potential fix-it involving him, Iris, and Barry, but...I’m plotting that currently, so I’ll keep my lips sealed about it for now 😉

Reverb

How I feel about this character: He’s awesome! An awesome foil to Cisco 💞 and super underrated

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Killer Frost, I feel like they had a really cool underexplored dynamic that I would’ve liked to see more of

My unpopular opinion about this character: I wish we’d seen more of him tbh 😭 maybe in Cisco's nightmares in s3?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: To expand on the above: we know from s2 that Cisco struggled with one day becoming Reverb and worked through it. Which is great, but...when Caitlin started fr turning into Killer Frost, it would’ve been neat if Cisco once again struggled with turning into Reverb and had nightmares about it. And maybe he could’ve fr turned (perhaps with some prodding by Savitar, who loves Cisco deep down and wants him by his side), and we could've gotten an E1 Saverb (or Savifrostverb, if Savitar felt like treating KF as an equal) team-up 👀

Alternatively, as in this fic (thank you @kitkatt0430/@starstruckpurpledragon, you’re a gem in this fandom), Savitar could’ve pulled Reverb out of his timeline and teamed up with him that way. I just really wish I could've seen a Saverb team-up, it would’ve been SO COOL 😭

I've seen such good things about my sweet mobster I'm excited to watch mainly because it's two underrated very talented actors and the premise of ex cons and how society treats them is so interesting. One thing I want to know is how is the romance? I don't particularly enjoy ships where one half is way more in love than the other and it's just one party doing all the work ( as in taking care of the other person, putting their needs first, saving them etc) if it's not a two way street and it's equal then it irks me so my otp taste is more one spring night/ healer/ hometown Cha Cha where it's I will do anything for you from both of them rather than just one of them and it's 99% the guy like samdari marry my husband and perfect marriage revenge and this is definitely giving me those vibes from the comments and I want to be ready 🤔🤔

hi anon! I haven't watched today's episode yet but from what we've seen so far in the show I think you'd like it! my sweet mobster's dynamic is more "he falls first" than "he's the only one who's devoted" - she's a content creator so he watches all her videos on youtube while she's still trying to figure out if he's nice or not lol they really don't meet in the best of circumstances tbh so it takes her a little bit of time before she feels at ease (there's a really fun scene where she visits him at the hospital and circumstances put them veryyy close to each other and he's all flustered when she leaves while she's like what just happened) but it still happens pretty fast despite some people around her being like "girl, he's literally a criminal" and she's like "well I feel good about him so who cares". it's fun to see how he does get flustered by her and her words despite being this cool and composed person who's even a threat to some while she likes to tease him

(the rest of this is going to be more spoilery)

the male lead is very protective of the female lead (and he's also the "I'm not worthy of her I'm too dangerous and dark for her" type so he's also torn over how to protect her from himself and his world) and there are a few times where he "saves" her and he's very knight-like but I see him more as a provider since he offers one of his rooms to her when she loses her place - and when that happens she insists she has to give him something in return and so she agrees to teach classes for his company/gang's members. in various situations she's very determined to help out and he's very determined to please her lol

one of the times when he saves her is because they both get stuck in a fridge closet and she has to go to the hospital, he's stuck to her bedside until she wakes up and almost as soon as she does she insists he also has to rest and take care of himself which I loved!! that felt very grown up and she literally forces him to sleep in her own hospital bed and she takes the spare bed, she's very curious about him (they're both quite fascinated by each other tbh) and asks him questions, she can see he's not used to taking care of himself and she's like "not on my watch" - he disappears at some point and she refuses to be left behind in the search and when he's arrested she's sooo anxious and worried she's literally crying in the parking lot

the funniest thing is that once they start living together they're very quickly in a situation where the people around them know there's something between them but it's not really addressed lol she's literally called "sister in law" by his gang members but none of them correct anyone??

also, random detail but she has been looking for her long lost childhood friend for years...........

How I feel about this character: I LOOOVE them so much. Being voiced by Ron Perlman super adds onto the appeal for me tenfold. Plus you know I'm gonna love em if they're big lolol

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I don't have any canon characters tbh but eventually my OC Victor is going to use them as his lackies and do some villainous flirting on the side between his bratty screeching. My OC Basil might do some flirting as well in the midst of combat with one or the other. He just really appreciates big strong men like himself who can go toe to toe with him. 😩

My non-romantic OTP for this character: As much as Eugene and Lance try to avoid them there is no escaping. They're orphan bros til the end. Gotta have that good ol friends to enemies to forced to work together to friends..?

My unpopular opinion about this character: Totally underrated characters by fans and weirdly so given they are in the movie and have long living ties with Eugene. I really wish they got a lil more screen time in show. There are just some antagonists, especially racist stereotype ones, that should not have kept appearing as long as they did and should have been reviewed better. With such a big list of antagonists a lot of these characters make the story muddled and leave waaay too many loose ends to have proper closure. Kids aren't stupid and they most certainly notice. ( some of this might be popular opinion but I'm just one person and don't have a mental tally of an entire fandom )

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish they got to join up with another antagonist force for something longer than 1 episode and have it actually mean something. Max and Eugene in Peril on the High Seas kinda flopped for me because no duh they teamed up with other bad guys they're on a prison barge where are you gonna go. I want them to seek out someone or someones together for a joint effort to do something big time to fish out Eugene and attempt to get their retribution in a more planned way. Even Return of the King was just another episode of Eugene being in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting chased around. I guess you could say it's apart of the joke, unserious man winning over the serious men, but I think it's just boring.

Daring x Lizzie: depends a lot!!! i don't really like Daring with anyone, but Lizzie is probably the only person besides Rosabella i would ever pair him with!

Ashlynn x Farrah: SO UNDERRATED HELLO?? i love them so so so so much one of my favourite ships

Kitty x Cerise: … literally one of my otps. that's all i have to say about them.

Kitty x Cerise x Cedar: i see it tbh!! i'm more of a Cerise x Cedar shipper by themselves because i somehow feel like Cedar would NOT like Kitty enough to ever approve of her even if they didn't date directly

Maddie x Clara Lear: makes sense now that i think about it!! i hc Maddie as aroace though so basically any ship with her is kind of a no from me

Apple x Meeshell: Apple with any non man will always be close to my heart, so i love this one as well!! they would be such a cute pair sigh

Justine x Farrah: i need to think about this one a little more because both of them are kind of unknown characters to me (i just never picked them up i guess??) but i do kinda see it!!

Hopper x Prudence Step: im gonna be honest i had to google who prudence was… so i can't really say anything about them but i do think they could work well !

How I feel about this character:

No, seriously I'm taking him literally everywhere I love him

All the people I ship romantically with this character: No one tbh, but I do see the appeal of him and the Watcher together, they got potential.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Kana, I like the way he brings out his more intellectual side in their banters.

But also Sagani, she's probably the person he respects the most in the gang and he's willing to stand up for her even against his own people if needed. That's a ride-or-die dynamic in the making I just wish there was more stuff with them in the game.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Not really an unpopular opinion, I just think he's super underrated.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish his feelings on undead got explored beyond the one (as in 1) line he has if you take him along for Heritage Hill, there is some potential there.

How I feel about this character: In case I haven't given it away, I like that indestructible sad bear a lot, he's probably my fave companion in dai.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: The Inquisitor, obviously, I romanced him during my first pt and I got everything I wanted out of it - it had drama, it had wholesome moments, it had him on his knees, it had him sad and sopping wet, it's honestly great.

But also Josephine ofc, they make a cute couple, he'd treat Josie right, it's what she deserves.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: SERA duh, they have the best dynamic, they are funny and wholesome 12/10.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He's not boring and the problematic aspects of his character are handled with the severity that they deserve without seeking excuses for them.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: ...I can't think of anything tbh, I think he's fine as he is.

Least Favorite character: I'm not gonna pick a villain bc I feel like that's a cop-out. Sooo for more or less "good" characters I'd say Fred Colon. I respect the space in the narrative he inhabits but I wouldn't want to hang out with him

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Shipping isn't the main way I partake in Discworld tbh, but here goes - Pollymal (duh), Susan/Lobsang (what could've been... even just as a friendship!), Angua/Sally (yeah), SamSybil (pure fluff tbh), maybe Lofty/Tonker or Agnes/Andre (the pianist from Maskerade).

Character I find most attractive: Sally von Humpeding, baby! Snarky butch vampire? I never stood a chance. I just wish we got to spend more time with her.

Character I would marry: NGL being married to most Discworld characters would stress me out. I think Susan Sto Helit and I could have a good marriage because we're both educators and she tries so hard to have a normal life lmao.

A random thought: I have mixed feelings about the new audiobooks. Some of them are good but the audio balancing is weirdly off between the narration and footnotes. I think they should have just got Nigel Planar to do all the books he hadn't done and same with Stephen Briggs so that all the fans would be happy /j

An unpopular opinion: Not as unpopular on Tumblr but Pterry isn't above criticism! He's clearly one of my fave authors and I think he did a lot of good writing but he obviously had faults and it does him a disservice to pretend he was some kind of saint.

My canon OTP: This one is hard bc there aren't actually a ton of canon ships in Discworld, but my fave is SamSybil. Mostly I'm just a ride or die for Sybil and Sam makes her happy so I will always ship it. Lofty/Tonker is also up there.

Non-canon OTP: PollyMal even though like its bascially canon imo. But y'all already knew this about me

Most badass character: Truly how can you answer this for Discworld. I'm gonna go with Tiffany Aching for beating the Queen of the Fairies at 9 entire years old! (I also read this when I was about her age so I have a soft spot for her.)

Pairing I am not a fan of: I am an autistic aroace Vetinari truther and so I simply cannot get behind V/V. I'm glad y'all are having fun with that though

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I wanted more Agnes. I think she was going to be the up and coming witch before Tiffany came on the scene and I LOVE Tiff but I still wish Agnes could have had a more concrete arc.

Favourite friendship: This should've been the ship question, I feel like friendships are where this series shines. Angua&Cheery is really sweet, Granny&Nanny is so funny and you can tell they care so much about each other.

Im Siwan is a young king, Hong Jong Hyun is Rin, his bodyguard (with a blood claim to the throne almost as good as the king’s) and Yoona (in one of only two roles I’ve liked her in) is San, the woman they both fall for in a very very bisexual love triangle (I have ended the drama not entirely sure who the king was more in love with, Rin or San.)

Character Ask: Conner McKnight

First Impression

-Alright tbh, he didn't stick out too much to me. On one hand the idea of being selfish in not wanting to be a ranger is very understandable but he kinda came off as a jerk(and the women stuff he talked about got old fast...)

How I Feel About The Character/Impression Now

-Like him now, he still has his moments but Conner really holds a piece that each of the rangers give to the table to make everything whole.

Favorite Moment

-the moments where he fights or hangs our with Trent, there's also "Lost In Translation" which is always a nice callback.

Idea For A Story

-Based a bit on "Lost In Translation", Conner traveling the many universes to find his twin Eric.

-Conner/Trent and Conner/Ethan are really underrated. Squeeze in Conner/Dustin and we got ourselves even more of a party.

BROTPs

-Conner/Kira, obviously these two are best friends. Conner/Past Red rangers but it's mainly one sided as they either try to let him off easy or are annoyed by the pestering.

Unpopular Opinion

-Not sure how I feel about him being a leader, the idea is alright but I would've like to have seen Ethan probably taking control. Heck even Kira, though it's better like this so that way Tommy doesn't fully get the veteran card in having free reign amongst the group.

One thing I wish would/had happened in the show

-Too.Much.Forms....dude got three power ups and yeah I get each ranger having a super mode balances it out bit when the shield drains everyone else's energy and on top of that getting a battlizer it seems like overkill. (Plus if they ever adapted the Abaranger movie then he'd have 4....GIVE EVERYONE ACCESS TO THE SHIELD TO BALANCE IT OUT COME ON)

Headcanons

-He secretly wishes to have one of the other zords as his main.

-Due to seeing Abaranger he tapped into the grid and found other dimensions that have sentai teams and watches them like shows.

-He's got a thing for guys but still is new to it, just trying to understand a few things about himself.

-There's a secret wallpaper he has of the red rangers from the past teams....definitely not a crush thing, jokes aside he really admires some of the red's and wouldn't mind getting training lessons.

-During college Kira became a base player for a Japanese band and after attending a concert Conner became a japanese rock fan(TK from Ling Tosite Sigure, any Tokyo Ghoul fans out there).

-He actually attended the Wind Academy before Reefside but was forced to transfer back because his parents like to keep control over one sibling(seeing Conner the problem child), of course he retained an element and uses wind.

-Hugs, dude loves hugging his team.

-Sometimes it's nice to take the raptors or motorcycles out at night and stroll around the city. Especially when it's raining and he's got the music blasting from his speakers.

-Due to the dino gems the rangers each have a permanent mark from using them. Conner has a barely noticeable scale pattern on his neck leading down to his upper back, a bit like a cool wing mark.

-Conner will never admit it but he really loves it when a date, no matter guy or girl, gives him a bouquet of flowers. He's got a high sense of smell and the aroma rocks him to the core, reminds him of a simpler time and he even keeps one in his apartment.

-He became Trent's fashion model for two years and only relied on getting clothes from him because they are so stylish.

-He loves decoding with Ethan and even carries the blue ranger to bed sometimes whenever he falls asleep in his personal lab.

-Despite his best efforts he's hasn't been able to keep in contact with Tommy over the years. When they do meet up it's usually some small interactions like going to other planets or seeing other rangers. Due to this Conner went searching for mysteries himself and almost found Solon's ship on accident, in another timeline Conner became a Dino Fury ranger before 2023.

-Kira pretty much is like a sister to him and the two bicker all the time with the other team mates betting on who will be the one to make up in the end.

First Impression

-Cool as heck, especially with seeing him as a kid in DT and finding out he had more appearances with the series prior, like legendary as heck

How I Feel About The Character/Impression Now

-still cool and stuff, love the depth I've learned about him over the years and he's definitely iconic in my mind. A bit of a reach whenever he's put on a full pedestal all the time because it does take away from everyone around him so it's nice to have some atmosphere when gives spotlight to others.

Favorite Moment

-Actually have yet to choose one but his first morph in DT is very iconic.

Idea For A Story

-Trying to piece his soul together with the lost fragments(2 reds, 1 white, 1 black and 1 green).

Unpopular Opinion

-Too much focus on Tommy, yeah he's THAT dude and we know it but let's not act like there isn't any other iconic rangers throughout the franchise to speak about.

One thing I wish would/had happened in the show

-Just a scene or two of him brushing his hair or even having Jason do it....like imagine how fun that could've been.

-Blowing the dragon flute out of his suit for laughs like the famous JDF meme.

-Seeing him and Zeltrax have a moment considering Zeltrax as Terrance Smith and the colleague of both Tommy and Anton. Plus it's darker when you find out Terrance had no family or connections before them so he kinda died in the end as Zeltrax without anyone remembering him. Like imagine Tommy finding out that he indirectly caused him to become a cyborg. In a perfect ending Zeltrax gets some peace in his demise and both Tommy and Anton set up a memorial for him.

Headcanons

-No matter who he's dating Tommy is a complete diva about his hair and needs specific products to keep it managed. Whenever someone compares the couple he loves his significant other but hair is HIS domain.

-He's a former Loreal model and has so much money saved up from those days. Katherine said one day that she'd shave it off just for fun and now he sleeps with his door locked.

-Tommy loves cooking and has a meal no matter what team he's on waiting after a mission.

-The main reason why he wanted to make Biozords was to possibly make them small and have pet zords to hold whenever a day gets stressful.

-In secret he wants to be a pink ranger just once, like to see the hype but considering his status it he might ruin it for other pink rangers because then the label about them will all be washed away under Tommy's legacy so he refrains.

-Before taking up martial arts he was into gymnastics and fencing for two years, hence why he's such a good sword fighter. Though compared to Casey, the Shiba siblings and the Rafkonian knights he's outclassed.

-He scammed the Reefside school district out of 20 million dollars.

-He still has a few of Jason's shirts to wear.
