I like to think that different AUs can have differing storylines just because the characters are different. Take the routes Vic thought of for Underfell: Trust, Closure, Betrayal. Two 'pacifist' ones that only differ slightly, and one genocide caused not by the human on their own. Kinda interesting that Underfell has the potential to be a story alteration along with a theme alteration type of AU
I think, especially Roleswap AUS where they keep their original personality to some extent, the story changes too. So with the roles, the way the role is executed changes. My idea for Underswap would have Papyrus be pretty active in say the genocide route. He'd be helping Undyne set up actual death traps for the human and stuff.

How to Be Kind
“HALT, HUMAN!”
Sweat dripped down Papyrus's skull, but he was not scared. The rattling of his bones was due to the storm, and nothing more.
“HEY, QUIT MOVING WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!”
Papyrus swallowed thickly as the figure actually stopped, their dust stained glove visible even in the dark.
“I, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE CAPTAIN PAPYRUS, HAVE SOME THINGS TO SAY.”
Kill or Be Killed. It was the law Papyrus had sworn to uphold, and one that had been carved into his soul from the moment he was born. And there had never been a person that embodied it quite like the dust and LV smothered figure across from him.
This could never be the right answer, though. More death... more pain...
It was a cycle that Papyrus had tried and failed to break when he was younger, and instead it had broken him.
But he would try, one last time. He would scrounge up the Kindness he'd tried to beat out of his soul, and he would revoke that very law he'd devoted his adult life to.
He would not fight.
#######
BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS ABOUT A POTENTIAL GENOCIDE ROUTE IN UNDERFELL, OKAY? I know Underfell doesn't follow the traditional geno/pacifist route (it's betrayal/trust, if I remember correctly??)
But stars, the IMPLICATIONS of what a geno route would mean for UF Papyrus if he made the same choices as UT Papyrus. Because this Papyrus is a killer. This Papyrus has shed his integrity and kindness.
But you can never really destroy who you are at your core, can you?
JUST. IMPLICATIONS, OKAY?!?!?!?!? How much does he have to unlearn to do that?!?!?!? He's just as scared as canon Papyrus, but he's also rejecting the very laws he latched onto. He's rejecting the system that he is part of.
He's making a choice to change.
FUCK I FEEL SO MANY THINGS FOR THIS MAN, OKAY!??!?! SO MANY THINGS.
...So I wrote this. FOR FUNSIES! :D

Canon Twinfell Research (so far)
My Socials: DeviantArt
Tumblr (Main acct)
Bluesky
What is Twinfell? Twinfell is an AU based around Underfell (creator @underfell) where the monsters in the underground are very edgy, hateful, and fueled with fear. At first, the monsters were just like the ones in Undertale, but after they were trapped underground, they turned to hate and fear. Asgore was the first person in this AU to fall, and everyone went down the same path as him eventually.
The story of Underfell starts after the monsters have fully integrated into this mindset, but unlike normal Underfell, Twinfell also combines the events of Flowerfell as part of the AU. Flowerfell was created by @Siviosanei, where every time Frisk dies, the timeline resets. And when they return to life, a buttercup grows on their body. The flowers could not be removed as it hurts Frisk. Despite the cruel nature of the characters in Underfell, Frisk remains pacifist.
Twinfell takes place 7 years after Flowerfell happens. (In my AU version of Flowerfell, instead of the ending where Sans uses Frisks' SOUL along with the other 6 human SOULs to break the barrier and free all of the Monsters), he instead chooses to absorb Frisks' SOUL and lets the other 6 fade into nothingness due to his depression and grief over losing Frisk, as well as his fears that even after everything Frisk did trying to teach the Underfell Monsters the meaning of kindness and pacifism, that they might not have learned anything at all. Basically instead choosing to trap the UF monsters behind the Barrier with no way to escape.
Undyne, and Papyrus however, learning about Sans GODsoul and remembering how kind Frisk was, and seeing perhaps Asgore was wrong about all humans being heartless bastards, the 3 of them decide to make a rebellion group called the "Freedom Fighters" where they vow to take down Asgore, the Royal Guards as well as Asgore's "Kill or Be Killed" mindset once and for all and make the underground a much more inhabitable place.
Tumblr media
How did the AU initially come about ?
I was fascinated with the story and lore (as well as the overall aesthetic of Underfell) and obsessing over Flowerfell at the time, and I never noticed those two were completely different AUs until I basically did a deep dive into them both. And basically I wondered "what if I combined the two AUs together???" Another reason for it, was because I frankly got tired of the fandom for the most part sort of 'meme-ing' on the Underfell AU and other adjacent "Fell" AUs, I wanted to take the concept of Underfell and make it even more darker and twisted. And also dive even deeper into the whole concept of the Monsters losing their morality and humanity (which was the number one reason why I personally love the Underfell universe the most of all Undertale AUs I've read about and gotten interested in.) And wanted to do my own take on the verse, hence "Twinfell."
What is fighting like in the game ?
If there ever WAS a game made properly for Twinfell, I was sort of thinking the fighting system would be "real-time" instead of taking turns. (Or maybe its still turn based just like canon UNDERTALE, if you are fighting against any of the members of the Freedom Fighters group) vs the monsters on Asgore's side and The Royal Guard, who fight you based on real time.
In the RUINs, it's also turn-based, since technically the monsters are unaffiliated with either side, (some may fight you based on real-time depending how desperate they get in the fight. like during low HP moments etc.)
So I’m thinking just like in the canon Underfell Universe, that there isn’t a “pacifist” or a “ genocide” route.
More of like a Trust, Betrayal, Closure routes.
Trust: Otaku manages to befriend all the monsters and make them trust one another again.
Betrayal: Flowey or Akumu pins the monsters against each other resulting in Frisk getting blamed for it.
Closure: Otaku befriends all the monsters and manages to make them realize the wrongs they’ve committed. Finally finding closure within each other.”
((Still a WIP trying to figure out how this works))
What is the FIGHT/ACT/ITEM/MERCY interface like ? “FIGHT-ACT-ITEMS-MERCY" it’d still be the same as canon Undertale.
FIGHT- Butt heads against the monsters, but when things start getting seriously bad for the monster With them being at the last strand of HP they have, Flowey would step in and say “Maybe now they’ll listen to you” The fight option would be gone and then Mercy-> Spare HOWEVER if you ONLY fight them, it doesn’t mean they trust you, it just means they fear you. Choosing to only fight would still decide the routes.
ACT- same concept, trying to convince them not to kill you by making them trust you. Act takes longer per usual, but instead of Spare it’d be Mercy-> Convince Because by this time they have a little trust in you, and would come around wanting to help you. And themselves.
ITEMS- same thing, except you have a surprise box cutter in flowey's pot that isn’t known about until the end of the route.
MERCY - Self-Explanatory. May change to "Convince" or "Spare" depending on actions.
((Once again, might change later on. Entire AU is still a WIP))
TWINFELL Plotline:
((WIP Still Under Construction))
ALL ABOUT THE CHARACTERS:
AKUMU RENGAI
Both were abandoned on the side of the road near an abandoned shopping mall by their parents at the age 7 and for 5 years they basically lived on their own and did what they could to survive up until CPS (Child Protective Services) of Ebott City finally found and rescued them and brought to an orphanage where the twins lived in for 2 more years and would move from foster family to foster family without much success.
(Mostly due to the Fosters wishing to seperate the twins since Akumu was very rebellious, and was suffering from abandonment issues and trauma, while Otaku was very easy going and well behaved. They thought Aku was a problem child.)
To avoid getting seperated again, Akumu took and lied to her brother to go sight seeing by climbing Mt. Ebott for a "Family Photo" of the two of them standing on the mountain overseeing Ebott City, when they both tripped and accidentally fell into a massive hole near the summit and landed on Golden Flowers….
Fun facts:
The Eldest Twin (by like, 10 minutes)
Has the SOUL of Discipline. (A combination of DETERMINATION and BRAVERY)
Effects: The SOUL becomes rock-hard. Able to bounce off attacks without taking too much damage. (About half the damage.) Though if done, the attacks will eventually fall back down at a faster pace and change color to injure the host at double the attack power it would have normally been.
14 years old.
Very rebellious, and acts much older than her actual age.
Is also extremely protective of her brother, and will even kill both monsters AND other humans if it meant keeping him safe.
Practically trusts no one, except for Otaku considering he is the only family she has left that still gives a shit about her and puts up with her "bad attitude" and issues.
Able to see and use the SAVE stars, cannot RESET.
OTAKU RENGAI
Fun facts:
14 years old (younger than Akumu by about 10 minutes)
Unlike his sister, he's very kind, and able to pretty much adapt to any situation.
Is also very smart and interested in robotics and engineering from a young age.
Tries to stay positive, whereas his sister is a pessimist about most things.
Has the SOUL of DILIGENCE. (A mix of DETERMINATION, INTEGRITY and PATIENCE)
Effects: Otaku's SOUL creates a shield around itself that can withstand 2 bullet hits before it breaks, in which then the user will take twice the amount of damage when hit. The user with this SOUL must thus be more studious in memorizing the attack patterns and be more careful dodging.
Able to RESET, but cannot SAVE.
FLOWEY
Tumblr media
Regained some of his emotions during his journey with Frisk
The boot he resides in belongs to Otaku
Uses his 'friendliness pellets' to heal the twins. Each pellet is worth 1HP everytime the twins touches one, they regain 1HP
TORIEL
Makes meat pies out of the fallen humans that had fallen into the RUINS, and stores their corpses in her freezer.
After Chara and Asriel died, Toriel become emotionally detached from everyone, especially her ex-husband
SANS
Tumblr media
Let's Frisk take over 90% of the time
he doesn’t get flustered and isn’t always angry, he’s just very tired
let him rest
he sweats easily under that big ass jacket
he’s been holding in a lot of emotional shit, so he’s constantly radiating his powers which mostly affects his jacket fur
is technically the most powerful with the consequence of hurting himself the most (Due to KR attacking him too since he ALSO has LV, and EXP)
Loves mustard and basically puts it on everything even when everyone else thinks it's disgusting or on food that probably shouldn't have mustard on it.
he tried on Papyrus’ boots once and felt alive
Sans says “I’M GOING TO HAVE ONE HELL OF A TIME”

Random's Lore Drops - underfalling fish lady REAL!!!-
Howdy hey, fellas, i'm back, and i've got more LORE for you gremlins. this time, it's... dun da dun... UNDERFELL'S UNDYNE! (warning image is goofy because it's from the same drawing as the one I used for frisk)
Tumblr media
(Art made by Vic the Underfella, creator of Underfell) HOly Hell that's a big image i thought it'd be smaller. anyways, CUE THE READ MORE
Ahem. For starters, undyne is still captain of the royal guard, blah blah blah, y'know the shtick. EXCEPT, she's already dating Alphys before the events of Underfell (as in frisk falling) happen. Now then, lets hope the canonfell wiki doesnt fail me... or you... or us. Undyne has two separate outfits, the old one being an alt outfit. It LOOKS relatively the same... HOWEVER, she wears latex boots, similar to Papyrus's, in the alt outfit. Also the red is really fucking bright. She's almost as merciless as King Asgore (the fell one because, we're, we're talking about uf), and acts extremely condescending, specifically towards Papyrus, though (apparently) also occasionally doing the same towards Sans. Also, Papyrus challenges her a lot, and 99% of the time, she wins (he only won once). Undyne is the one to swear the MOST out of the entire cast, and the art to show this... Is Undyne burning herself from trying to grab a food that Papyrus was cooking that was STILL on the grill. Truly, a genius. Honestly, there isn't a lot here... I think we're currently suffering from Sans and Papyrus lore syndrome, where only sans and papyrus have the most lore. so I'll say the rest that we've got. Despite being almost as merciless as Asgore, she does care for other characters, such as obviously, Alphys, because the two are... Well, dating. As for Papyrus... According to my singular source, in the... not Betrayal i think the wiki got this wrong, but in one of the routes, when Papyrus tries to defend Frisk, Undyne HAS to kill him, though she absolutely despises what she has to do in order to kill Frisk. Well, that's all the lore the wiki has fed me and that i will feed you. See you in the next one (I MIGHT work on a filler post though not sure which character should get the post)

your UnderFell! Sans concept got me thinking about how Fell! Sans would most likely treat human! darling and monster! darling differently. I'll mostly talk about the latter.
First thing that comes to mind, is that with monster! darling he would get more opportunities to be possessive rather than overprotective. He still has to worry cuz, you know, kill or be killed but darling doesn't have a constant threat of Asgore looming over their shoulder and they most likely learned how to stand up for themself in case the need arises.. and they aren't afraid to kill too, ig
Plus monster! darling has known all other citizens of the Underground for much longer than human! darling which means that they're closer with them too. Yeah, Sans isn't having a great time.
Second, if we're talking about romantic yandere! Sans, i doubt that human! darling will date him willingly. I mean, they most likely grew up in a peaceful environment so they know how unhealthy relationships look like. They can certainly hope that things will become more normal once the barrier breaks tho..
While monster! darling doesn't even know what that normal is. Yep, I imagine they'll probably ignore red flags and think that its just your average relationship even if they might realize that something is wrong. It's not like someone will tell them "hey, your bf is obsessed with you too much" (maybe Papyrus but he might value his brother's happiness more?). So Sans can actually get away with some things in this scenario. But eh, it depends on how far his possessiveness might go and I doubt that darling is a pushover, despite how many obvious toxicity they might just not notice
Oh, and don't get me started on betrayal route (O_O)!
I personally like human darling as it shows the horror in yandere and toxic situations but your monster take is cool!
I'm happy you enjoyed my concept :)

#1 Day of asking random shit to blogs I follow because I can and I want to + boredom
Do you have any Undertale OCs and/or your own Undertale AU? If you do, can you explain the lore? :]
I'm more of an AU rewriter actually. I'm taking popular AUs and try to make them more realistic and mature (and more political, I love the Underground politics, that's like my favorite subject).
So far, I'm working on Horrortale with my fanfiction Horrortale : Rotten Apple, which is actually more of a pre-Horrortale fanfiction, since I'm working on the events between when Frisk left the Underground and the famine. So far, it's like 20 chapters and Undyne is still not queen. I want her coup d'état to be violent and the result of months and months of bad decisions, not only her bad decisions, but also Toriel's ones as a ruler. Toriel is not a bad ruler at all, but she is impopular because of her exil in the Ruins and the fact that despite Asgore's death, who was loved by the Underground, she did nothing to prevent something like that to happen again. Undyne being the one Asgore's trained, monsters will slowly turn their back to Toriel, which will have consequences on other characters like Sans, Papyrus, Flowey or Grillby. Frisk is not the one responsible for all this either, as they are trying to save monsterkind in a world where adults don't believe them at all. That's a really difficult story to write, but I'm having so much fun with it.
The second one is Underfell, with my fanfiction No Weakness. It's a Papyrus centric fanfiction that takes place after a pacifist route. Since there's no reason for Asgore to let Frisk live, Frisk is actually still Underground, living the best life with Toriel, and protected by a pact formed by Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Mettaton and Alphys. The kid must stay a secret. But after some months, Papyrus is doubting the plan, as not only they could all be executed if something goes wrong, but there's also the problem of Frisk becoming more independant and asking more and more questions, and worse, taking Papyrus as an exemple, which he absolutely doesn't want because he is ashame of what he has to do every day to survive. No Weakness is also about Undyne, who suddenly starts to act strange, which worried Papyrus, until one day, she left the guard. Papyrus is quite distressed and doesn't understand until Asgore announces his soon to come wedding with her on live TV. The only problem being that Papyrus knows Undyne hates him with all of her soul, and that she is not there willingly. But Papyrus is also the general of the royal guard now, and as a general, you shut up and close your eyes on a lot of things. But Papyrus is really not sure he can do that.
The last one is the most close from an AU I guess, it's What is best for humankind. It's a war AU, focusing on Sans and Papyrus childhood. It's an AU because they are a lot younger in the games, so they couldn't live through the war, but I tried to make it coherent. Sans and Papyrus are forced to run away from their village one night, as humans are attacking. Gaster, their dad, being forced to fight, left them escape alone. Sans will have to protect his brother, and soon, a very small Undyne and a human through the devastated lands leading to Mount Ebott. It's both a survival story and a dramatic story as Sans will have to do and witness things he never should have, and face the betrayal of the only person who is supposed to keep him safe, his own father. Because this AU main story is about what being a judge means. In this world, the royal judge is not a job, it's a very rare class of monsters like boss monsters are. Judge monsters are very low HP monsters that can use karma magic, which is the same magic Sans use in his genocide battle in the game. During the war, the Judges, mainly pacifist, all died during the talks for a peace treaty, as the humans saw an opportunity to get rid of them all at once. The only problem being the magic the Judge develop can only activate if the Judge is traumatised and presents a abnormal level of determination. Sans is the only one left, he is not activated, and Gaster wants him to basically explodes in rage in the human castle to kill the Emperor. For this, he knows there's one solution that will sure piss him off enough: killing Papyrus. But Gaster is also the only one who is sure this plan will work, as both Toriel and Asgore are horrified by the idea. To stop the war, how far all of them are willing to go? That's the main story!
My last AU is a more classic one, it's a Sans x Reader fanfiction in a post-pacifist universe, Remember the good days. However, Sans is not exactly himself as he suffers terrible memory loss after a tragic attack during one of Frisk's speech. It's getting worse and worse as Sans is not enough stimulated with Papyrus in college. But Papyrus has a plan. He wants you to stimulate Sans, and he is even willing to pay for that. Surely he told Sans everything before hand and Sans won't hate you at all for this. ... Right?

So, I still don't get Underfell's routes. It's clear that Betrayal replaces Genoc*de, but what does Closure/Trust replace? I always assumed that Closure replaces Neutral and Trust replaces Pacifist, but I'm not sure and I want to know if I am right. Also, if I'm not bothering you and you've got some additional time, can you explain how hard Closure and Trust routes are different from each other?
I gotchu,
No Mercy- Betrayal
Neutral-Trust
Pacifist - Closure
Difference between Trust and Closure,
Kind of subjective, bear with me
(It’s also late)
Trust would mean that Frisk achieved in making the monsters trust each other, realizing they only really have/had each other. Almost like a quick forgive and forget kinda deal without any of them talking more about it. The monsters learn to trust each other, but there’s still hurt. Some kind of weight. Specifically amongst themselves.
“You can trust me “
Closure means that Frisk got the monsters cornered enough THEY HAD to talk about it. The only way out was to talk about it. It becomes harder to forgive and forget because now the problems are real. Closure is acceptance and moving on. Forgive themselves to forgive each other.
“I’m sorry for hurting you”
Closure and Betrayal I want to say are verrrry close in terms of paths.

I'm replaying Deltatraveler and god I can't believe it didn't hit me before how tonally dissonant things are in section 3. Even in the obliteration route where things are generally more serious, there's still gags and moments where Susie and Noelle are weirdly okay with their surroundings.
I also just...don't agree with a lot of the characterization of Noelle and Susie on the obliteration route. I think Deltatraveler normally characterizes at least Susie fairly well, but something in section 3 just is not correct to me.
Obviously, Noelle has every right to be angry at her friend who just commanded her to kill multiple children, but it's also so weird how Noelle is the one furious over this- Instead of, y'know, the character who has a major issue with betrayal and is shown (especially in Deltatraveler itself) to be protective of kids?
I very much think seeing Noelle angry and upset could really be cathartic and nice to see if done correctly...But I don't really feel like it's done so here. There's a rather dramatic shift from Noelle being the one to point out to Susie that Kris isn't themself in section 2 after you murder the snake, to going into this depressed, angry state in section 3, especially given Susie is the one that really tries to fight against Kris in most of section 2. I get the impression she's trying to hold the group together and doesn't want to ruin her friendship with Kris, but it feels off and hypocritical of her for being so...weirdly calm about everything that's happening, even laughing at the Underfell skelebros at times.
The decision to have Kris come out and tell the gang that they're being possessed is interesting and all, but it does ultimately get rid of a ton of the drama and tension that the first part of section 3 was trying to set up. The gang still participates in a lot of gags and has somewhat wholesome moments, despite knowing their friend is possessed by an otherworldly entity who seems keen on murdering everything around them for an unknown reason.

Felldust Danmaged
Tumblr media
Kinda goofy how the way i have to post the lore is through an overworld sprite, but here we are Alright so, the lore for this version is kinda smaller, but not because it's simple or anything, but it's more or so because it isn't heavily based around a lot of events happening, but rather a simple concept that leads to a, i guess good climax? I'm not entirely sure to be completely honestSo, the main idea for Felldust, or at least this version of felldust is that, during the fight frisk has with papyrus, in the betrayal route, papyrus decided to call in another 2 royal guardians to help him fight off the human, with that decision leading to frisk convicing the 2 royal guardians to gang up on papyrus and beat him up, which leads to papyrus getting killed by them both. But, during the whole ruckus, sans was watching the whole thing go down, leading to him believing that the royal guardians unfairly killed his brother. That would lead to sans growing an immense rage towards the royal guard as a whole, as not only had they let papyrus end up dying, but also were the reason for why he died, as sans would immediately chase down the 2 royal guardians that had killed papyrus, and brutally murder them (and by brutally i mean kill them by uncommon means instead of the usual rpg stuff). With that being said, that would be what the story would be basically based around, it's sans going out and targeting the entirety of the royal guard in a avengence of his brother's brutal death. But, at some point, sans mind would grow so twisted by the rage that he would not only target the royal guard, but anyone even remotely related to the royal guard and asgore himself (cos of the whole thing where uh, asgore was the one that gave papyrus eye scars and shit, y'know that). That was the basic lore that was mostly applied to the OLD version of the au, aka the version with sans having his hood up, and having the grey and purple eye shit, y'know that. Now, there is a second version of the au that i ended up scrapping and uh, basically attempted at erasing it off from the internet that somewhat followed that same concept, but mostly changed the outcome of the au. While in the original version the ending consisted of sans going out for you after he noticed that it was in fact frisk that made the two royal guardians kill off papyrus, and in the fight having him going insane to the point of where he would accidentally kill himself by using his uncontrollable gaster blasters, ending the run and shit. The new version would consist of sans not going after frisk after he finishes murdering asgore, despite having already understood long ago that it wasn't necessarily the royal guardians themselves that had killed papyrus, but frisk had convinced them to. The ending would have sans basically accepting the chaos that he had brought to the underground, becoming dense to the point that he doesn't care anymore about the shit that he had done, and thus all of the rage that he had built inside of him vanishes away, leaving nothing more than an emotionless husk of what was sans. Sure he still smiles and jokes around, but he doesn't really feel anything anymore That also means there would not be a final fight like in the old concept, because sans has no reason to.Some fun facts about the aus: So like, the reason of the massive difference between the old design and the newer design was because i had MASSIVE issues with how underfell sans pallet is. He's too bright, and i really wanted to go with a very dull look for the au, but at the time i just really couldn't get it right, so at some point i just decided to say "fuck it, imma make him colorless", so that's why i went with the monochromatic look The design from the ref with the huge sans was my first attempt at it, and the reason for the second version of sans where he's a massive monster is because, at the time, i for some reason wanted to add a replacement concept for the ghost papyrus where sans saw himself, and even hallucinated with him looking like a giant horrific monster. I don't know why i thought that would fit, specially since the au doesn't necessarily focus on inside conflicts that the character has so, idk what i was on when i added that The reason both of the designs share sans having those weird chains around his hand is because sans used his own golden chains to kill undyne via beating her to death. I don't know why i made that a default design trait but, there we goI don't know why people like this take so much? Specially the old version, the lore is kinda confusing and the designs aren't the greatest, but im willing to archive this just so people can still get to see itNothing much else to say really, so.

* 「¹Trust」「²Betrayal」「³Closure」

「¹Trust」「²Betrayal」「³Closure」
