Gosh, I can't believe you asked me this. This is a very important and difficult question which has occupied the greatest minds of our age since the first image was ever drawn on clay tablets at the dawn of humanity. You are asking for my opinion on something that has been debated by people much greater than myself -- in fact it has never even occurred to me before now whether I have an "opinion" about anything, let alone such a weighty matter as this one!

I suppose if pressed I would say that yes, this image does contain some amount of what we call "artistic value." But its artistic value is completely orthogonal to any meaningful attempt to understand or describe why humans make things like this; this image is not like other images because while the rest of us may be able to talk (or at least try to) about why we draw pictures, this picture goes beyond mere representation and description into the realm of pure invention, a thing that no amount of rationalization could ever encompass. Whenever I see this image it makes me want to cry out "it's all so terrible!" but when I open my mouth to do so I find only a black hole where words should be. So instead of being cynical you should just go fucking insane

The whiplash I got from clicking on this blog and seeing the cover image

My reaction was much the same as yours, @undeaddirtboy. The Taylor Swift themed cover image is yet another bothersome aspect of @ask-eric-the-disposable-demon's curse on me. But I will be free of it soon enough. A combined miracle from @the-archangel-squad ought to do the trick quite nicely.

i read your poem earlier and was moved to tears, it made me rethink my entire view on life. i am a new man. since you are so talented could you maybe write a song or poem about frogs for us all?

I'm glad you liked it! I don't have much of a knack for songwriting, but maybe one day... (I did write the poem back in like . . . high school?)

In this story, the gay goat started out as well as the triumphs of youth, the hardships of adulthood, as well as the realization that life must go on despite those hardships, and ultimately that life is worth living because even when it gets hard, it is still, always, and for each of us, lovely and blessed in its most basic form.

I hope you don't mind me coming into your inbox to discuss something so serious. There's always a place for free expression here. I only ask for a moment of your time, so I can say this:

Do not question the goat's sexuality. Do not inquire about the goat's sexuality. If he tells you his sexuality, do not accuse him of lying. His sexuality is a private matter and is not for anyone to question. The goat must have a private life. If you know what's right, you know that the goat is gay.

I'm the only one who can be silly in this house! Everyone else is too busy being sensible and making rational choices -- it's so boring. Now, if you don't mind, I need to go put on my silliest outfit before I head downstairs for breakfast. The cook will try not to look at me funny because of all that makeup . . . but he knows what I am, really. He won't be able to help himself from staring into those giant eyes of mine, or marveling over the sheer size of my hair. It must take a lot of work keeping something like me looking nice. Oh well! That's part of the job description, I guess
