first of all thank you. i don’t intend to keep doing duck comics sadly. there’s about 5-ish I still intend to do eventually (grad school is hard and i’m also crazy rn) but after that idk what the future of this blog is. maybe BD??? idk there’s a lot of overlap so perhaps not since it’s the fandom that has really turned me off from ducks.

I usually translate from french but i tend to compare to other translations. Ultrabroad is one that’s pretty easy to find online i’ve seen it a lot. Here is a post on my blog about finding things.

As for The Inventor’s Son?

my duck fics are basically made for a very small audience. sometimes the audience is just myself. sometimes it’s me, ollie (owlsong74), and tabs (mod bulb at gyroslab). sometimes it’s the duck mutuals I got on twitter.

the inventor’s son was really just me hoping ratchet would appear in fantomius past a cameo. once on the trail of copernicus came out, i didn’t need to continue because i was satisfied. ratchet was in the fantomius comics, he seemed likely to return. which was good

looking back on it now, i don’t really like it much...

i wrote a while back how i intended for it to go. It’s a little something like this

chapter 4: copernicus and john get into a fight because of fantomius’s last caper, stealing from his own house. copernicus is particularly upset because a quilt is missing. ratchet gives his pitch to rockerduck who hears out what he has to say, but overall is like "No." but in a nice way. scrooge is freed from questioning and starts a HUGE fuss. fantomius and ratchet sit together on the roof and talk, with john what’s so special about the quilt

chapter 5: flashback to one of the first fantomius missions. it's to the house of someone ratchet knew as a kid. copernicus tricks john into stealing a worthless family quilt. john is not pleased with it, but never really does much past "don't do that again." back where we were ratchet realizes where the quilt is from and drops it off the roof. more flashbacks the family was quite rude to ratchet when he was a child. ratchet is suspicious asks fantomius if there's a reason they are talking. fantomius is all witty. tensions are high the next day and ratchet makes an excuse to sneak around. dolly notices and follows. eventually he finds what he's looking for. he loses it. his dad IS working for fantomius. dolly ends up sedating him. he's convinced none of this is a dream once he wakes up. they're both working for fantomius! then john admits he is fantomius

chapter 6: fallout of chapter 5. oh shoot that's fantomius. realize why copernicus didn't want ratchet finding out. ratchet and scrooge end up talking again, both stressed af. around this point the friendship between the two ends. fantomius and co. plan a heist to rob rockerduck, something something environment. scrooge is also out for blood. he sees ratchet with fantomius, and promises to say nothing, though damage has been done at this point.

On July 13th, 2019, Alexandria is celebrating its 270th birthday!

Alexandria is located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the USA. When the first United States President, George Washington, was a teenager, he worked as one of the surveyors in the area in order to draw plans for a new town, which was to be called “Alexandria”. This work began in 1748 and in the following year, 1749, Alexandria was established.

Many historical events happened in the area before and after Alexandria was founded, such as the first European settlement in 1695, and the US Naval Torpedo Station built during WWI. Additionally, in 1932, the building of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial was completed, and currently it is a National Historic Landmark.
