Can't have shit in Vernworth.
I would have loved to have gotten some shots of the battle, but unfortunately the camera was clipping into the buildings for most of the fight.

Someone wrote about Ulrika going to save you from a monster. Like gurl deserves to be written as grizzly and war torn since she was in charge of a village KNOWN for being the kingdom's first line of defence. You cannot convince me Ulrika doesn't also use a set of daggers on top of a bow and has scars all over. You cannot convince me that she doesn't make the tough decisions and acts with kindness that is backed up with steel, yk? Ulrika feels like someone who could do the most violent thing to save someone else because in the end she cares about her people so much.
Also it is I. I need to write about Ulrika bloody and dedicated. Need an Ulrika letting go of a criminal beaten black and blue only to politely wipe the blood off her hands with her trousers and offer her hand like "Can you get up?" In the sweetest voice. I'm JUST SAYING–

Then answer me this. Why dost thou fight? Is it to reclaim thy flesh — thy stolen heart? Or is it to reclaim thy throne? I offer thee a choice: grant unto me this life in my claws and be gone from this place — or stand and fight.

Welcome Home (M! Arisen x Ulrika)
A single lifetime laid behind her, as she drew her final breath.
Ulrika had long awaited this day, looking forward to it with the same anticipation of a child waiting for a long desired gift. She had lived a full life, thereby fulfilling the promise she had made to the Arisen; to the love that echoed in her heart throughout the years.
And now the time had finally come for Ulrika to rejoin the love of her life, holding the ring once given to her by the Arisen close to her heart as she took her final breath.
The darkness took her momentarily, the indescribable blackness slowly giving way to a sprawling poppy field that seemed to stretch on for eternity. A lone tree rested in its center, a vast weeping willow that seemed to stretch past the heavens. It was unlike anything Ulrika had ever seen, the sight so beautiful and serene it filled her with an overwhelming urge to weep.
Amidst the impossibly bright colors stood a lone figure dressed in white, standing beneath the branches of the willow tree. Ulrika recognized him immediately, having dreamed of his face every night since the day they had said goodbye. It seemed both a lifetime, yet only a moment since the angels had called home one of their own.
A light breeze picked up, causing the fabric of the Arisen’s shirt to blow around him in a sight that would remain with Ulrika forever. His dark locks blew around his eyes, the same way it had done on so many occasions during their adventures together. He was just the same as he had been when he had shared his life with Ulrika before their time together had been cut tragically short.
Ulrika felt the tears stinging her eyes as she rushed toward the man who had stolen her heart so many years before, her heart clenching with a lifetime of sorrow as she approached him.
Promising to live a life without the Arisen was the hardest thing she had ever done, but she could not deny the love of her life the only thing he had ever asked of her. She had fought through the pain and the loneliness, counting the moments until she would be reunited with her love again.
And now he was here, waiting for her just as he promised he would be, wearing that familiar smile that he had always kept reserved for her.
Her movements slowed as she approached the Arisen, as if she was afraid he would vanish the moment she reached him. But he remained, reaching his hand out towards her with the same look of adoration that Ulrika saw each time she closed her eyes.
“You’re here,” she said quietly, not quite recognizing her own voice. “You’re really here.”
The Arisen drew Ulrika’s hand to his lips, placing a gentle kiss to the back of her knuckles.
“Oh, darling. I’ve always been with you.”
Ulrika closed her eyes at the sound of the Arisen’s voice, the sound sweeter than any music after so long apart.
“I was there as you led Harve into a new era of prosperity, building a place where people were welcomed and protected. I was with you when you built a new life, watching as you turned your skills into something to better the world. I was there each night you cried yourself to sleep, asking why I had left you.”
He reached out, gently wiping away the tears that streamed down Ulrika’s face.
“I was always with you, thanking you for keeping your promise to me. I’ve always been here, waiting for you”
“I’m sorry to have kept you waiting,” Ulrika replied, offering the first genuine smile since the last time she had laid eyes on the Arisen.
He smiled warmly, kissing her gently as he whispered against her lips.
“Welcome home, my love.”
