Let me start by saying that not all Golden Armor Digivolutions are built the same. Making Magnamon evolve into something else feels like an insult, meanwhile Elephantmon just feels like a leftover idea they couldn't squeeze in anywhere. Probably could have made it Armadimon's light armor or Patamon's love armor. But regardless, I have elected to treat the golden armors as perfect levels that evolve from other armors, to...varying efficacy.

Magnamon as a Fladramon evo because they're both V-mon stretched out wearing a mask, shoes, and crop top. Then into Imperialdramon Paladin Mode because it's V-mon's final form and it's super powerful and holy and has gold accents on its white armor. Magnamon is impossible to work with when it's technically an adult, a perfect, and an ultimate at the same time.

Peacockmon as a Toucanmon evo because Toucanmon is one of Hawkmon's only actual bird armors, and it does have blue in its design. I went with Hououmon-X as the ultimate because it's the most Majestic and Miraculous bird, and its wing feathers seem to be made of light.

What a shocker, Armadimon's options suck. As I just said, Elephantmon is basically the least impressive miracle armor. But I used Frogmon as an adult stage for it because they're both cybernetically enhanced with propellers for flight, which is oddly specific. For an ultimate, I guess I made Armadimon evolve into Brigadramon in the end anyway. Blue and silver, dual propulsion system, shoots missiles. It was either that or Gabumon Bond of Friendship. That's the best I got. What do you want me to say? Elephantmon is literally a white elephant.

Rhinomon as a Pegasmon evo is actually decent since they're perissodactyls with gold armor and the studs on Pegasmon's hooves translate into the gems on Rhinomon's headpiece. Huanglongmon is a gold-plated quadruped whose red eyes translate from Rhinomon's gems. It works. I'm not in love with it, but it works.

Maildramon is scarcely better than Elephantmon, and technically it already evolves from an adult. But using Nefertimon as a stopgap between Tailmon and Maildramon does add wings and silver armor with gold accents. It was here that I realized how few options there are for armored dragons that don't belong to Agumon expies. Most of the Royal Knights are dragon men, but we're shockingly lacking in digimon that literally are dragons in knight armor. Dukemon is the most conventional knight out of Royal Knights with a visor on its helmet, albeit covering its mouth and not its eyes. I guess Dynasmon and DORUgoramon work too, but I'm disappointed there isn't something better.

Wormmon is in the same boat as Hawkmon in that I prefer an armor that stays the same taxonomic class, so I chose Searchmon to evolve into Kongoumon. Then HeracleKabuterimon-X is a giant gold bug, although Shivamon might work better conceptually.

Terriermon made me abandon my rules because we do not have any other armor evolutions for it besides Rapidmon Gold. I could have easily just used the Tamers line with a gold Rapidmon instead of a green one, but MagnaGarurumon is an idea that adds a bit of freshness. They are supposed to be dogs, after all.

Come on, what the fuck is GoldV-dramon? Get that the fuck out of here. That's even worse than Elephantmon. I shouldn't even be dignifying it with a response. But it can evolve into UlforceV-dramon, sure.

I’m also considering MarinAngemon,but I want to make her important to the au somehow,so I want to give her a royal knight/Olympos twelve member/deadly sin digimon so that she’ll at least have a fun lore thing and be able to travel with the rest of the hoenn squad is enough to want to make her a part of the main group.

Because of may having a UlforceV-dramon I’m leaning more towards Magnamon so that they can match,also a possible moment where steven and wallace recognize May’s v-mon,later recommending her to lisia as a guide when she show’s interest in pokemon contest,the only thing stopping me is that we already have the aforementioned UlforceV-dramon AND alphamon in hoenn(being May’s and wally’s partners respectively) and I’d be nice to have and olympos twelve member.

i actually dont know anything about digimon so i trust your judgement on this but if i had to pick based on design alone (sorry best i can do here 😅), i really like junomon and lordknightmon

however im a huge fan of characters that match so you have me sold on magnamon if you do decide to go through with it

could i get something with a furred ulforcev-dramon and their tamer who keeps trying to touch the belly fur (like how cat's belly fur is super soft)?

It was probably the most desired thing his Tamer wanted from him, and he just got embarrassed every time they'd try to run their hands along the light fur on his belly. He always backed away when they tried it the first few times.

He supposed he could see where the temptation lied, due to humans seemingly wanting to pet everything fluffy that they saw. But it still didn't make him any less embarrassed.

Eventually he did allow them. UlforceV-Dramon had grown too tired after a day of strenuous fights and was laying on his back. It was rare for a day to make him so tired he couldn't do much. And it was the perfect moment for his Tamer to strike.

Though, they asked this time. And while he had wanted to say no, he'd sigh and shrug and let them at long last pet his belly fur. They've wanted to for some time, and now he didn't want to argue over it this time.

To him it's a little ticklish, so his belly twitches upon the first contact and he lets out a noise. That noise eventually turning into a purr as they pet him. UlforceV-Dramon wasn't quite sure how else to react, really.

It was kind of nice, ok, he'll admit it. It just felt strangely embarrassing due to how he was, and his Tamer was indirectly just touching his abs even with fur covering it. It was calming... And he practically fell asleep as they did so. Still purring, mind you.

Royal Knights Popularity Poll Results

A short while ago the official Digimon website had a poll for “Favorite Royal Knight”, and we finally got the results:

So we have:

Omegamon - 21.1%

Dukemon - 15.9%

Alphamon - 13.2%

UlforceV-dramon - 10.9%

Magnamon - 9.1%

Jesmon - 7.9%

Examon - 6.6%

Gankoomon - 3.4%

LordKnightmon - 2.9%

Dynasmon - 2.8%

Sleipmon - 2.4%

Craniummon - 1.9%

Duftmon - 1.8%

The first 3 places should surprise precisely no one. We all already knew they were the most popular, we all already knew they were popular in exactly that order.

The next 3 places were also predictable, though the order wasn’t. We get eternal fanfavorite UlforceV-dramon (because V-Tamer), then the eternally overlooked but still nostalgic Magnamon (we all know the more popular 02 digimon is Imperialdramon) and finally the shilled-for-a-decade-now Jesmon (or, as I like to call him, the Anime Protagonist without an Anime).

After the nostalgic bunch (and Jesmon) we get the two non-armored Royal Knights, Examon and Gankoomon. I don’t know if they were picked because they didn’t look the same as the rest or because they were a giant dragon emperor and DigiJotaro, but regardless, I approve of those reasons.

Then we get the Frontier duo, and that one honestly surprised me because I assumed Cyber Sleuth had made LordKnightmon far more popular than Dynasmon in the fandom. I assumed he’d be right below Jesmon. Alas, not true apparently. Well, I’ll always consider LordKnightmon one of the few Royal Knights with a distinct, irreplaceable role.

Finally, we get The Rest. Personally, I voted Sleipmon and Craniummon (multivote FTW), but I’m not surprised to see them near the bottom. Their most prominent role was in Savers and they were fairly minor in it. Sleipmon probably ranks ahead of the other two because of his less conventional design. God knows that’s half the reason I voted for it (the other being the Chaosmon connection).

Oh, and Duftmon is last. Nothing to say about that.

For the ask game: I wish you would write a fic where the KHUX cast were Digimon tamers/chosen children (since I know you ALSO like both franchises, haha).

Oho, this is a fun idea

First thing that comes to mind is Ventus with a meicoomon. Powerful but small? Has a "good" evolution line and a "bad" one? Absolutely fitting. Khux ventus would have a meicoomon → meicrackmon → rasielmon partner I think; wayfinder ventus has a meicoomon → wingdramon → dynasmon partner, while Vanitas has meicoomon → meicrackmon vicious mode → raguelmon as a partner. Ventus-vanitas can have ordinemon as a bit of "wow this is a messed up situation huh", as a treat.

Skuld feels like she'd have a Lunamon (probably Lunamon → lekismon → crescemon → dianamon, traditional evolution line).

Ephemer with Coronamon (and the traditional Coronamon → firamon → flaremon → apollomon line) fits well as well I think. For a bonus, he and skuld's friendship could mean that while player fights them, player's partner digimon could have to fight against a very powerful GraceNovamon, ahaha

I'm not sure what partner I'd give Brain or Player, but I think Lauriam could do well with a Palmon. Lillymon or Rosemon would be the strongest form his partner would get to, I think; I can also imagine said partner going down the Palmon → vegimon → blossomon → lotusmon post-khux, when by marluxia's side

Tbh I feel like one could put digimon alongside khux pretty easily; keyboard wielders having digimon partners as well, and it being tied to that legacy of being a keyblade wielder or something. Digimon partners helping their tamers, not too dissimilar to a chirithy if you think about it -- friends that're for the most part Always There.

Anyways the tldr is I don't think it'd change canon too much but it would be a fun lil fic to write at some point. Digital creatures who are your friends <3

Y'know i will write down my headcanons for lines for the characters i like. Some might come from games, some just me imagining possible ideas not featured anywhere before. Bear with Ni.

Daisuke: V-mon → XV-mon → Wingdramon → UlforceV-dramon

I got this from CSHM actually. Seems a good match. Alternative idea was XV-mon → Grademon → Magnamon, but i don't like it much now… (also i love Ulforce V-dramon a lot…)

Ken: Wormmon → Stingmon → JewelBeemon → BanchoStingmon

This is the line i like the most. Alternative from CSHM: Stingmon → Okuwamon → GranKuwagamon

Miyako: Hawkmon → Aquilamon → Hippogriffomon → Valdurmon

Another possible in CSHM. I like this one, I adopted it from a friend!

Iori: Armadimon → Ankylomon → Groundramon → Cannondramon

This line is not possible in games, but i think it is in tcg but i don't remember now.

Wallace: Terriermon → Gargomon → Rapidmon (perfect) → SaintGalgomon Lopmon → Turuiemon → Antylamon (deva) → Cherubimon (virtue)

I admit i ran out of options for Wallace, so i kept it simple.

Menoa: Morphomon → Hudiemon

I'm imagining a scenario where Menoa could get her back and naturally she becomes Hudiemon. Now for Perfect and Ultimate i have no idea.

Maki: Bakumon → Monochromon → Megadramon → Chaosdramon

I'm stealing it from a friend. Also I suspect Shinkai Sara (from ReArise) was mirroring Maki in terms of role and partner. But I'm changing it to Chaosdramon to make it different from hers.

Daigo: Bearmon → Grizzmon → LoaderLiomon → Baihumon

Another line i'm stealing from ReArise, actually this is one of the ones i suspect was tied with ▽ pt4.

Meiko: Meicoomon → Meicrackmon (normal) → Rasielmon

Idk why but i have the impression this was in the plans but they rewrote the plot so many times it became scrapped. Okay, i'd have liked to see this instead of… that

Michael: Betamon → Seadramon → MegaSeadramon → Plesiomon/GigaSeadramon

Plesiomon one is possible on CSHM game actually. GigaSeadramon idea came from a friend. But i'm putting both because i'm not sure which one to pick.

Catherine: Floramon → Kiwimon → Lilamon → Lotusmon

An alternative route is Kiwimon → Sirenmon, but i'm not sure if i could go with Lotusmon in this one too?

Derek (Dingo): Ganimon → Coelamon → Gusokumon → Neptunemon

idk, i just had a feeling this would work.

Rosa (The little girl from Mexico): Gottsumon → Monochromon → Gogmamon → Blastmon

I like to keep the mineral vibe...

Jun (Daisuke's sister who i love since i was a kid): Pulsemon → Runnermon → Tempomon → LovelyAngemon

Idk i'm sold of the idea of giving Pulsemon to her. Like, if he were a V-mon "cousin" or something lol

What would be the 02 ultimate levels that doesn’t Involves combining?

If we're just going "in theory" with their species lines, I personally favor UlforceV-dramon, BanchouStingmon, Valdurmon, and ClavisAngemon, but in regards to the actual 02 kids and their partners, I've always been pretty fine with the fact the quartet never particularly had individual Ultimate forms.
