Don't get me wrong, I love Shampoo as a character but she is NOT meant for Ranma in any way possible. I don't understand how people be reading the manga thinking that "oh Akane is so too plain and boring" "Akane is too abusive towards Ranma" "Shampoo was the right choice for Ranma!" no she isn't. She literally manipulates, drugs and even blows up his entire house up just because of the wedding Ranma and Akane had. And there's nothing "abusive" between Ranma and Akane. Ranma is an asshole for a purpose and there's always a reason why Akane beats him so. Also haven't you noticed nobody is calling out Ranma's stupidity sometimes? Well, Akane is the only character that can beat some sense to him rather than just accepting the person that he is because I'm sure as hell he ain't perfect. Of course, sometimes Akane wrongly accuses Ranma of shit he didn’t do but it makes sense to do so knowing what kind of person Ranma is. It's a slapstick comedy for Christ's sake there's no need to think about shit like that. "B-but Shampoo is the most popular character in the show!" "But Shampoo is much better than Akane!" "But without Shampoo the show would've been cancelled!". They literally say shit like that everywhere in every tweet writing paragraphs about nothing containing like 7-8 replies on one comment justifying their ship, they even call some fans "n*zis" and "wh*res" just because someone said and pointed out using sources of the manga that Shampoo was never an option to Ranma. Then they accuse Ranakane fans for starting shit just because in some tweets they point out "Oh Ranakane always target us because they're always obsessed with mentioning about us!" Bitch? They only tweet like that because of people like you. You don't expect any response to you tweeting some bullshit? The one that's obsessed here is you replying to every Ranakane fan on the platform 💀. And every time they notice that someone blocks them on Twitter they will go off saying that Ranakane fans are "soft". Well, guess what? Maybe because they're sick of your annoying ass on Twitter and don't to hear any part of the toxicity you put in the fandom. This idea poped in my head after realicing how HARD it affected Ukyo when Ranma tell her that she is pretty, I mean, the girl literally forgot about his revenge and decided to continue with their arriange marriage haha

Akane Tendo

Getting to be in a relationship with Akane is a bit dificult since she is more used to be bothered by the guys who wants to date her, after all it just brings her troubles, it take time but at the end is all worthy

Akane also may need time to get used to be in a relationship, if you two are together is because she is completely sure that she loves you and you love her, still she is stuck between don't wanting to rush and being incredibly affectionate and loving in her own way (also, she doesn't want to bring you troubles when Kuno her other suitors finds out about your relationship)

Akane have some self-esteem problems, since she isn't femenine like her sister Kasumi (and her first love prefering her sister over her) along with her more rude and stronge side she is quite insecure, fearing that she may not be a good girlfriend, thats also why when she find out that, in your eyes, she is the most beautiful person alive she is incredibly flustered and even has a hard time accepting it

If you tell her directly how beautiful she is in your eyes she may acuse you of lying because she can't believe it (even when she really hopes you are being sincere), but if you insist and even tell her why she is the most beautiful person in the world she will grow even embarrassed and ask you to stop a bit too harsh (but her blush gives her away about how flustered she is). If she gets to find out indirectly, either by overheard you saying it to someone else or even noticing (or someone making her notice) by how you look at her with so much love she is going to be just as flustered but will have no room to deny it

Either way this is going to be not only incredibly flustering but also incredibly comforting for her, it is something that it will be stuck in her mind for a while until she manage to fully accept the idea, wich will only lead her to be more happy and affectionate, being slighly more physicaly closer and even acting a but shy, but if you ask her if something happened she will simply say that it is nothing

Akane secretly hopes that you will call her beautiful once more soon, and if you do it she will be able to accept this time more easily but still will feel shy, also whenever you are simply hanging out she will remember to look at you, out of curiousity to see if she notices the way you look at her

Ukyo Kuonji

Thanks to her bad past experiences and the bullying she suffered as a kid Ukyo never thought much of herself, forcing herself to dress up and pretend to be a man and devoted only to her revenge, however falling in love and being reciprocated change everything!

For Ukyo being in a relasionship gave her another chance, she still keeps her revenge in mind but now she can settle down enough to focus on you, and she is devoted to this relasionship just as much as she is devoted to her revenge

Ukyo is incredibly affectionate by actions and words, she has no problem with screaming her love from the rooftops and let everyone know about how you two are together but she doesn't expect the same level of affection, she expect you to show that you love her too but she can be happy if you prefer to do it in more discreet ways, as long as you love her she is fine

Again, Ukyo doesn't really think much of herself, she recognize her strenght and efforts but normally doesn't go far from that, even so she hopes that you think she is special or at least pretty so the moment she find out that you, her beautiful and lovely partner, thinks she is the most beautiful person in the world she is ecstatic

It doesn't matter if you say it directly or indirectly, or even if you end up expressing it to someone else and she overheard, the important is that you see her as beautiful and thats all what matter. Also, it was all she needed to know to finally decide that she wants to spend the rest of her life at your side, she will actually spend some time daydreaming about share a life with you and grow old together

And if you make an habit to remember her how beautiful she is or even ended up constantly telling others Ukyo will feel even a bit embarrassed, she will blush everytime you mentionate and may even find herself lacking words to say anything else but, at the end, she doesn't really mind, she actually grows to love it no matter how much it affects her

Still, her flustered self isn't going to go unnoticed, she will be even more affectionate and clingy after your words, clinging to your side with a sweet smile, singing your name like a fool in love and even blushing a bit whenever you look at her, but it is obvious that she is enjoying all of this

At some point Ukyo will actually tell you how much she wants to share her whole life with you! Maybe you two can start making plans for the future together already

Welcome to this craziness! This was the result of a vote over on the Storytellers' Speakeasy, a server run by myself and AnneOminous (writer of "The Phoenix," if you haven't read it, shame on you, go do it now...oh look at that! A reboot of that very fanfic on Ranma Reboot Day!). It is just minutes before midnight in Arizona on 10/5/2024, so it still counts as getting it out on the day of!

Half Moon - Ranma ½/Sailor Moon/Star Trek - Archive of Our Own

Captain Ranma Saotome of the USS Invincible is commanding her ship on her first assignment as captain when she gets a chance to do something most people don't, a chance to see how her life could have been if things had gone differently.

Earth, Japan, Crystal Tokyo, Old Nerima, Amaterasu’s Fire Bar

“Y’know,” drolled Lt. Hiroshi Nakamura over the beer he was nursing, “I’m beginning to suspect that you don’t normally come here in that ballerina outfit.”

Lt. Daisuke Hito smirked as he eyed the rather statuesque form standing between the two Starfleet officers with zero effort to hide the infamous ‘male gaze,’ “Not that we’re complaining, of course.”

Sailor Venus, a.k.a. Princess Ranma Saotome, rolled her eyes as she blushed, “I have my reasons, okay? I... I just wanna have a beer for old time’s sake.” The two men exchanged slightly confused glances and Ranma sighed, scrubbing her gloved fingers through her hair, “Sorry, ain’t fair to you, I know. Just...” she quaffed back nearly half the pint she was holding before she took a breath and continued, “My Hiro and Dai...passed away as old men nearly two centuries ago. They were, like, best bros to me, even with...” she gestured at herself, “All this, they were so chill with it and were just a pair of normal guys I could hang with and talk to. Even when they got married and got jobs and had kids, they made sure to make time for me, y’know? I didn’t realize how badly I’d missed ‘em ‘til you guys teleported in.”

48 hours ago, Ranma had been enjoying a sake at this very bar, doing her best to connect with ‘normal.’ She thought she might be making some headway in getting the regulars to treat her as just another girl when her communicator went off and she was summoned back to the castle. A ship had appeared in orbit, apparently through a hole in space, and the Senshi were needed just in case.

Ranma had roof-hopped back to Castle Venus, which might have been unusual if it weren’t for the fact that she trained the royal guards to do the same before they could be considered qualified to serve the royal houses.

There was a reason the royal guard was so small.

By the time she got back to the castle she called home, her mother was in a tizzy, ordering all sorts of accommodations for some apparent guests. During the time Ranma had been in transit, communication had been established and the captain of the ship...was her.

Ami, one of her best friends since Ranma had taken on the mantle of Venus, had shown a recording of the captain of the ship, speaking from the bridge.

Ranma had needed some time alone after seeing so many of her old friends, suddenly alive and well on a visiting starship.

She wasn’t there for the initial meeting, she left that honor to her mother. She was there when the crew began beaming down, and to her anxious delight, the helmsman and navigator she’d seen in the video were part of the first rotation. She’d done the next best thing to abducting them and dragged them to her favorite bar.

“Beamed in,” corrected Daisuke.

“Whatever,” grunted Ranma, “Point is I just wanted something... normal, y’know? All this ‘senshi’ shit and ‘princess’ crap...it wasn’t so bad for about three decades... but then we had whole generations of people who never knew the Senshi as anything but eternally long-lived superheroes that were here when their grandparents were in diapers and just gettin’ some sake became a whole production.”

Daisuke chugged back his beer as Hiroshi clapped a hand on Ranma’s shoulder in a ‘manly’ side-hug, “Naw, man, we get it. I think every Starfleet class has at least one member of some planet’s nobility, including the royal heir themselves on occasion.  Most of ‘em want you to ignore their royalty status. Goin’ for pub crawls with the freshmen royals is practically a rite of passage. ‘Course, we can do that in San Francisco, which is used to all’a that ‘cause Fleet Command and the Academy are in ��Frisco, but hey, it got us used to escorting nobles around.”

As Daisuke clacked his empty stein against the bar and signaled to the bartender for another round, he added, “Besides, you’re pretty much our best friend, even if you’ve got a couple centuries on her. And they still know you’re... Soldier Venus?” he offered hesitantly.

“Sailor Venus,” corrected Ranma.

“Right, they clearly know who you are, and they still serve you here, even if they’re giving you looks. I’m guessing you’re normally only ever on the town when you’re not in uniform?”

Ranma sighed and nodded, “Yeah, usually when the Senshi are in seifuku it means some shit’s about t’go down.”

“So, what’s the big deal?” asked Hiroshi as he set his empty mug next to the fresh one the bartender set down at their spot, “I mean, I’d say, ‘let your hair down, but...”

Ranma rolled her eyes and swept her long red hair out of her face. “Ma wants me to be a ‘pretty princess’ normally so she had me grow out my hair, but the danged thing never stays tied back when I go full Venus.”

“Exactly!” replied Hiroshi, “Just relax! Go back to the palace and change and come on back!”

Ranma snorted, “It’s a castle, and it doesn’t work like that. It’s a quick-change, power-up thing that I can turn off any time.”

“Right, so why not just do that, then?” said Daisuke, who’d taken to sipping his beer.

Ranma’s face turned bright red, red enough to be a color match for Rei’s seifuku in her Sailor Mars form, “I just... things have changed since... I just wanna pretend they hadn’t for a bit.” Then her face twisted into an annoyed grimace, “And if that hand moves even a millimeter lower, Hiro, I’m gonna break it."

Hiroshi yanked his hand away from Ranma’s hip like it was about to burn him. Rather than look contrite or guilty, he snapped his fingers and muttered a, “Darnit!” under his breath.

Ranma giggled, “Gods, I missed you two!”
