(Each state gets 2 additional representatives, in a higher part of the govt, to represent the entire state. It doesn't matter if your population is 38,000,000 or 580,000, each get two votes)

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way 1999

"I Want It That Way" is a song by American vocal group Backstreet Boys. It was released as the lead single from their third studio album, Millennium (1999). It was written by Swedish hitmakers Max Martin and Andreas Carlsson. Max Martin has written or co-written 26 Billboard Hot 100 number-one songs, most of which he has also produced or co-produced. He is the songwriter with the second-most number-one singles on the chart, behind only Paul McCartney (32) and tied with John Lennon (26 both). In addition, he currently holds the record for the most Hot 100 number-one songs as a producer, with 24 as of January 2024. Congrats! 🥳

"I Want It That Way" was nominated for three Grammy Awards, including Song and Record of the Year. The music video received four MTV Video Music Awards nominations, winning Viewer's Choice. It became the group's first music video to surpass one billion views on YouTube in 2021.

"I Want It That Way" is the Backstreet Boys' signature song, and commercially it reached the number-one spot in more than 25 countries, including Austria, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland and the UK.

The song was famously used in the cold open of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5 episode "DFW". Andy Samberg's character has a police lineup sing the song to help a victim identify a killer.

Lotus Elan S3, 1966. The Elan was an era-defining car and was for Lotus, their first really commercially successful road car. It featured a steel backbone chassis with a fibreglass body and was powered by a DOHC 1,558 cc engine, with 4-wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering and 4-wheel independent suspension. Sales were boosted in the UK and internationally when the character Emma Peel (played by Diana Ring) drove one in 60’s TV series The Avengers. It provided the template for the Mazda MX-5 Miata. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the Elan number 6 in a list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s. 

PS: Diana Rigg had to learn to drive for the TV show, Lotus gave her the car when she left The Avengers, but she wasn't a keen driver and passed the Elan onto a friend. More recently Dame Diana played the role of Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, she passed away in 2020, aged 82. R.I.P

This extensive collection of postcards is housed in the Wellcome Library in London, UK. The postcards were originally collected by social historian James Gardiner and depict an array of drag experiences throughout the twentieth century. The earliest postcards capture moments of military and navy soldiers and prisoners of war during WWI. Later photographs, like those from the 1960s, portray familiar scenes from bars like Club 82, a prominent drag bar in New York at the time.

In 1981, PiL decided to relocate from London to New York, where recording sessions for the band's 4th studio album took place between '82-'83. After Pete Jones and Keith Levene left, John Lydon remained the only founding member still in the band and with the exception of Martin Atkins, the line-up was largely unknown local New Jersey musicians hired for the shows.

In September 1983 PiL’s biggest UK hit single, ‘This Is Not A Love Song‘, is released, followed by their first actual UK and European tours.
