Ignoring the fact I need to actually prioritize my real life master’s thesis
I need to finish and post/split into 2 and post ch 1 the current one shot I’ve been writing since June (the shiro & Pidge one (it also has some shiro & Lance) )
And then I have a solid plan and some paragraphs of a hunk & Keith one shot I will write next
But then after that I really want to write one with Allura as a main character bc I feel bad that she’s barely been mentioned (it’s hard fitting characters into one shots) but I have no idea which dynamic I want to write about her with bc literally anyone could be interesting. Maybe I will do a poll at some point idk
And I’ve been kind of starting to work on my bad things happen bingo card (but as I’ve vaguely bitched before it’s on me for not being choosey enough when I gave my list of okayed prompts for the card maker to select from and now I have a bunch of ones that were b-tier to me )
Anyways if you’re really interested (and preferably have peeked at my writing) you can send requests (via anon or message or reply or comment etc ) for vld hurt comfort one shots

Wrong Place
For a prompt challenge from @hailqiqi over on the Pidgance Positivity Discord...wasn’t sure I’d come up with something for it since I’ve never written James and it had to have James...and then it became almost 100% angst. With like two seconds of humor.
Uhm...oops?
***
“Where’s...wh-where…’spidge?” Lance grimaces, in no small part because he’s definitely slurring and it’s definitely because his head feels like it’s about to crack open. “Ohhhhkay...ayowww...”
“Are you okay?”
He holds his head as he sits up, leaning heavily into the stone wall of the cell. “No..otreally. Where’she?”
He can make out another form beside him, dim and blurry but too tall even sitting down to be Pidge. When he starts to list sideways a hand catches his arm and eases him back against the wall.
“Easy…”
James. Griffin. Right? Yeah…
“Where’s...Pidge!” Lance manages again. Good, a little more forceful this time. Clearer. His head still hates him, though.
He winces again, remembering the beam they hit him with. Not a weapon...exactly. His fingers clench and unclench convulsively, finally free of the arms of the unforgiving stone chair they’d strapped him to. The beam...hurt. Did something to his head. Like they were looking around in it, maybe.
These aliens have technology. Why is almost everything here stone? Why does it look like the cell is...glowing some weird green? From that thing in the ceiling?
The hand on his arm stills. “They took her.”
His eyes are trying to drift shut on him, but Lance forces them open again. “...what?” He almost wishes he hadn’t. The look on Griffin’s face…
“They took Pidge. I’m sorry.”
Lance surges forward. Griffin tries to keep him leaned against the wall, but sudden adrenaline lends him strength. “They what! Why didn’t you stop them! You could’ve—!”
“I tried! Believe me, I TRIED to get them to take me; they wouldn’t listen!”
Lance drops back against the wall with a groan. “Thanks for trying…”
“Yeah...what’d they do to you?”
“I don...don’t know.”
Ranting about sacred ground and trespassing...why they wanted to defile...something. Lance didn’t understand a lot of it, but it sounds like they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Just their luck, really.
Something nudges Lance’s hand. Griffin, trying to give him something.
“Hmm…?”
“She uh...she wanted you to hold onto this for her. Said she didn’t want to risk them taking it.”
Lance looks down, letting the small green and blue marbled ring drop into his hands. The one he bought for Pidge at a stall on Earth a few weeks ago. She insists on wearing it under her gloves even when she’s in armor.
He swallows and peels his own armor glove back long enough enough slip the ring onto his pinky and cover it again, to keep it safe. “I...thanks.”
That would be bad enough, but then...then the faint screaming starts. Drifting through the echoey corridors of wherever the quiznak they are and they can’t hear it very WELL, but Lance knows it’s her the second it begins.
“Katie!” He tries to get to his feet, but he falls again. “Pidge!”
“It’s okay…!” Griffin is trying to say,
“How is this OKAY!”
“I mean it’s not! But...but we heard the same stuff when you were gone, okay? And...you’re okay. More or less.”
Lance slumps again. He doesn’t really want to cry in front of this guy, but Pidge is screaming and how can he not? At least it’s only tears, warming his cheeks on the way down. He’s too tired to sob.
“Hey...look, she’ll be okay, and we’ll get out of here.” When Lance doesn’t answer Griffin tilts his head at him, after a minute or two awkward silence. “You two seem really great together, you know that?”
Lance blinks at him, slowly. “Huh?”
Griffin shrugs, not quite looking at him. “You two just really seem like you belong together, that’s all.” He smirks. “The other MFE pilots and I...did we tell you we had bets going on how long it’d take for you to ask her out? Or if she’d ask you first?”
Griffin is trying to distract him. Well...might as well let it work. “No. You did not.”
“Rizavi won. I thought it’d take you another six months.”
“Gee,” Lance deadpans. “Thanks for that.”
“You’re welcome.”
“What’d the others think?”
“Kinkade was convinced she’d ask you first, and we couldn’t pin Leifsdottir down; she got stuck trying to calculate the possibility of the existence of soulmates.”
Lance laughs once, weakly. “What’d she come up with on that one?”
Griffin shrugs. “Inconclusive.”
“Hmm…” Lance tries to straighten against the wall, grunting at a surge of pain behind his eyes. “I’ve always kind of...thought maybe...I don’t know. What about you?”
Griffin shrugs, staring at the opposite wall. “I don’t know about that...hard to find someone in the middle of a war.” But something in his tone makes it sound like he wants to.
“We’re not in a war anymore,” Lance reminds him.
A brief smile from Griffin at that, but before either of them can say anything, the metal door clangs open. It’s only then that Lance realizes the screaming stopped a minute or two ago. He struggles to his feet, using the wall for support, as two of the aliens shove Pidge inside. They’re tall and thin and encased in some kind of heavy armor, made of a strong dense material but covered in panels of grass. That strange mix of the technological and the primitive again.
Pidge stumbles to the middle of the cell but stays standing. She doesn’t look as bad off physically as he feels, thank quiznak...but...she looks up at them and her eyes are wide with unshed tears and...fear? Apology? What?
“Pidge…?”
“Choose,” one of the aliens demands.
Pidge straightens. And she seems so tired, but she smiles at them. At him. ‘I love you,’ she mouths.
Lance’s stomach drops as she turns back to the aliens.
“Me,” she says.
“Pidge!” he calls in panic. Her? Her what?
But nothing happens.
“No,” the alien who spoke before says. “You must choose one of the others.”
Pidge goes stiff, her hands shaking slightly at her sides. Lance can still see the side of her face, and she has that look she gets when something should have gone her way, and it hasn’t.
“You said I could choose!”
“Your minds have revealed you did not trespass in malice, so we will not take all of your lives; but our gods demand one sacrifice in punishment.”
“And you said I could choose!”
“Pidge, no!” Lance cries again. He tries to push off from the wall, to get to her, to do SOMETHING, but the moment he lets go his knees are buckling and he has no choice but to return to it. “Pidge!”
“One of them,” the alien repeats.
Pidge is shaking in earnest now. “I-I can’t…”
Maybe if he wasn’t so out of it he could have done something else. Maybe he could have seen it coming. Had time to react.
But when the alien raises something that looks kind of like a gun and says they will choose then - when it points straight at him - Lance barely has time to register Pidge’s scream before something slams into him from the side.
He hits the ground and Pidge is still screaming. What did they shoot him with? Is he dying…?
But there’s no wound. His head is spinning and everything hurts, but Griffin is the one crumpled against the wall clutching a smoking, glowing hole in his side.
No…
“James!” Pidge cries. She takes shaking steps to his side and drops to her knees there.
Lance crawls to them, and Griffin is groaning but he has that smirk on his face. As the glow spreads from the wound he looks at Lance and opens his mouth, like he’s going to say something. That it’s okay, or something dumb like that that will never MAKE it okay.
He doesn’t the get the chance. In another moment the glow takes him, dissolving his body as quickly as it spread. Nothing is left but strange beads of light and glowing ash that seem to be drawn up into the ceiling - into the source of the softer glow that permeates the cell.
The aliens don’t seem bothered that they didn’t hit their intended target. As long as it was one of them.
“You are free to go,” one of them says. “Never return.” The other drops their helmets on the floor in the doorway, and they both leave - leaving the paladins to find their way out.
The first sob from Pidge comes as their bootfalls echo down the corridor.
Lance pulls her against him as she chokes on a curse.

# 31 ! For klance please
#31: That was an order.
Here ya go!
(From these prompts)
******
“Lance, I said no!”
“And I’m telling you this won’t work! We can’t take an entire fleet one by one, we need Voltron!”
“Voltron will put us in a more vulnerable position. We need to fight them independently until there’s no other choice.”
“Keith just listen to me for once-“
“I said no Lance. That was an order.”
Lance felt the breath get stuck in his throat at the words, so bitterly thrown over their Lions’ intercoms.
Was this how Keith wanted to lead? Was this how being the paladin of the Black Lion would go?
He swallowed his words, bit back the venom hiding beneath his teeth and sighed, mumbling a fine. This wasn’t the place to argue, and Keith wasn’t in the headspace to calmly talk to at that moment, and neither was Lance.
The entire team had a long, long fight ahead of them.
With a sigh, Lance pulled at the Red Lion’s controls, joining back in the fight with the hopes of victory in the back of his head.
*****
They came back to the castle hours later, bruises and fatigue littering their entire beings.
He felt Hunk’s pat on his back, congratulating him for a good job as he left the briefing room  to get some rest, Pidge close behind him.
Allura stopped for a minute, smiling sympathetically at Lance before she too excused herself to go get some rest before she’d have to meet up with Coran and Keith to plan another course of action.
Lance stayed in place, waiting for the last remaining paladin to come through the hangar’s doors and into the room.
Soon enough Keith walked in, his hair tousled from the armour’s helmet that was now resting in his hands, the darkness under his eyes a telltale sign of his restlessness.
“Keith-“
“Not now Lance.”
“If not now then when? Can we just talk for a minute?” Lance persisted, coming to stand in front of Keith.
He didn’t want to fight him, not this time. Hell, he never really wanted to fight with Keith, not when they had that ‘rivalry’ going on, and especially not now that they’d become friends, now that the sight of Keith made Lance’s heart flutter with a feeling he refused to address.
But Keith was a wreck ever since he became the Black Paladin. He tried to lead like Shiro did, not realising that he’s not Shiro, that he didn’t have to be him.
Lance wanted to be a friend. A shoulder for Keith to support himself on.
“Look, what happened out there-I get it, you had your own ideas about what we should do, and you’re the leader now, but-“
“There’s no but! I did what I thought was right, and we won.”
“By a narrow margin! Keith I’m not-I’m not bitter or whatever you may think I am but you need to just take more things into consideration when we’re out there; Shiro-“
“Shiro isn’t here! He’s not our leader right now! I am, even if I never wanted to-“
“I know, what I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to try and be Shiro-“
“ I’m not! Look, if you don’t like the way I lead then just-just find some other team to join or whatever.”
Lance paused, his eyes widening at Keith’s words, mouth agape.
Keith seemed to register his words a minute too late, his expression soon mirroring Lance’s.
They looked to each other for a minute longer, before Lance ducked his head, the beginnings of a bitter smile on his lips.
“Is that so.” he mumbled, turning promptly on his heels and all but running out of the room, a moment too late for Keith’s extended hand to reach him.
******It was hours later that Keith found Lance. He was sitting cross legged in the control room, the map of the entire known universe Allura used whenever they planned strategies activated and filling the entire room with a luminescent green glow, the projections of star clusters and widely different shaped galaxies scattered all around. And in the middle of it all was Lance, his hands cusping one of the projected galaxies with a tender care, like one would hold a newborn child.Keith took stepped through the stars and planets, coming to a halt besides Lance and sitting down, not daring to meet Lance’s gaze.He doesn’t have to ask what galaxy Lance was just looking at.“What, am I not allowed to be here too now? Are you gonna order me to get out?” Lance’s voice is hoarse, red rimming the sides of his eyes.“Lance..” Keith started, uncertain of what to say, of where to start.“No, it’s cool. I know I don’t offer much to the team anyway. Just, find another person to pilot Red and I’ll be on my way.”That gave Keith pause, finally turning to look at Lance, noticing the way his shoulders stiffened and his jaw clenched.“Lance-what are you talking about? Who ever said that?”
“Please, as if you need to say it. I /know okay, I see how talented and smart everyone on this team is is and then you got me-“
“No!” “-and I just don’t cut it. And now with Shiro gone you need the best of the best on the team if we even want  to stand a chance.”
“And you are that. Lance look at me. Please, look at me.”
Lance reluctantly did, his bottom lip clenched between his teeth, the fight against the tears in his eyes heartbreaking to see.
Keith sighed, lowering his gaze.
“I’m…I’m sorry for what I said. I was frustrated and upset, and completely out of line. I..I didn’t mean it, but I shouldn’t have said it.”
“You can just say you mean it, it’s fine-“
“But I didn’t mean it! God Lance, do you hear what you’re saying? You mean so much to this team, hell, I’ve never seen anyone take as accurate shots as you do with your bayard, and Red chose you. You, no one else.”
Lance snorted.
“She didn’t really have much of an option.”
“She wouldn’t have chosen you as a last measure. Don’t forget I’ve piloted her, I know her. And I know she has a pride of steel and a temper from hell and back.”
Lance winced at the words, bringing a hand to rub his temple.
“Yeah uh, I just felt her growl so she’s probably not happy you just said that.”
“She’s just angry that I’m saying the truth. Can’t guarantee she won’t throw a temper tantrum at you later though”, Keith snickered, earning him a sly kick in the shin from Lance.
“Yeah anyway” Keith continued, after he was sure Lance wouldn’t try and tackle him, “she’s not..she would never let you in if she didn’t believe in you.”
“I..I don’t know.”
“Look, when the Black lion chose me, what did you say? You say it made it’s choice and I should respect it, didn’t you?”
“Yeah but that was different!”
“Was it? Red made a choice, and I respect it. You should too.”
Lance gave a short huff but remained quiet, his gaze focusing back to the glowing galactic map instead.
He put a lazy finger onto the galaxy in front of him, twirling it around with a somber look.
“We’re…we’re really far away aren’t we.”
Keith nodded.
“Do you think we’ll ever go back?”
Keith took a moment to look towards Lance, meeting his eye.
He could say yes. He could say Lance would be able to see his family again, feel the rain and sunshine on his skin.
But he also knew Lance deserved honesty, more so than comfort.
“I don’t know. We’re so far away and fighting a war that’s spiralling out of control. We..I just hope we make it.”
“Do you want to? Do you want to go back?”
Keith thought of his shack, of the trinkets and photographs stocked in shelves and boxes, his bike that was probably left to decay outside the cave they first found Blue in. He looked down to his hands, remembering that purple glow on his skin that haunted him ever since.
“I do. Maybe not right now, but once I’ve found answers, found myself…I do.”
That seemed to be enough for Lance, who stood up with a huff, clapping his hands and closing the map with it, the green glow gone, the Milky Way disappearing along with it as the usual white light filled the room again.
“We’ll make it. We’ll go back. We’re going to win this, kick Lotor’s and whomever else’s ass we need to kick, and then we can all have some long vacation by the beach. My nieces would definitely love to braid your hair once they meet you.”
Keith raised an eyebrow at that, feeling his lips tug into a gentle smile.
“And I’d love to meet them too then.”
Lance’s mouth opened and closed multiple times yet said nothing, not even as Keith got up and put a hand to Lance’s shoulder.
“Please remember I mean it though, This team wouldn’t be the same without you.”
“I-yeah-yes. Okay.”
Keith dropped his hand from Lance’s shoulder as he turned to leave, surprised when he felt a warmth tug on his wrist.
“Wait!”
He turned around, taking note of how the tip of Lance’s nose reddened, his eyes blinking and looking anywhere but Keith’s face.
“Um, you’re forgiven. For being a stubborn mullet. And uhm, thanks.”
Keith tugged his wrist free, choosing to instead interlace his fingers with Lance’s as he turned to face the taller boy, an action he’d later on proceed to overthink of and feel his cheeks fluster at the mere memory.
“Anytime” he grinned, bringing Lance in for what was the first, and definitely not the last hug Keith  would ever initiate.
If they both lingered in the touch a moment longer, well, then that was just for them to know.

Mad with Grief
A prompt from and for @gdesertsand
Word Count: 2.780 (Oh god. This is so long, sorry)
~
Fog. Lance was sure there wasn’t any fog when he and the others had landed. Not that Lance really cared if there was or wasn’t fog before in that moment. He could never imagined that from a normal rescue mission he would found himself lost on a giant forest-like planet, fully immersed in the fog and without a single hint of where in the hell he was. He continued walking, looking around him confused; the tall trees were all the same and not a single one could be picked as a reference point.
“Great” he told to himself “Not only I’ve been separated from the others, but now I’m even lost in a forest probably walking in circles!”
He sighed, looking down at the ground. He already tried to yell in case someone nearby had heard him, but all that he got was the echo of his own voice.
“Maybe if I keep walking I will arrive somewhere” he nodded, talking to himself, trying to convincing himself.
But after what it seems like hours, Lance started to lost his confidence and the anxiety grinds his stomach and all kind of thought started to come in his mind.
What if the others already leave without me? What if I will never been found? What if something else found me before my team do? What if…
His mind started to go completely blank like his vision, collapsing on the humid ground and covering his hears and shaking his head, trying to remove the thoughts from his brain, when a familiar voice calls out his name:
“Lance!”
Lance opens his eyes wide to see the dark purple eyes of Keith looking at him with concern
“K-Keith…?” The Cuban boy asked, not sure if he was real or just an hallucination
“There you are, finally! You big idiot, I was searching for you everywhere!”
His tone was worried, something strange, since Lance had never see Keith showing this clearly his emotions. But Lance didn’t care. He just wanted to go away. He was about to speak, but Keith’s hand catch him in anticipation, grabbing his wrist and dragging him away.
“Keith- Wait a second! Where are we going?!”
Keith turned his head, looking confused at Lance’s blue eyes, now wide open
“What do you mean? You must hit your head, we’re going back to the castle”
“What?! And the rescue mission?!”
The extremely confused gaze of Keith made Lance open his mouth in disbelief.
How come forget of a mission? Out of us two, the one who’s hit his head his him, not me! Okay, that’s strange… What in the hell is going on-
And again, Keith’s voice interrupted the train of thoughts in Lance’s head
“You don’t hear what Allura said? It was a fake signal from long long time ago. There’s no one anymore here…”
Lance touched his helmet, finding it strange that he hadn’t heard anything since his armor wasn’t damaged and the com was still working. But he just didn’t care. In that moment all that he wanted was go away from there
“Ok. Let’s go take Blue-”
“That’s not necessary. Shiro and Hunk already took her to the Castle. Come we’ll go with Red”
Lance simply nodded, following Keith through the fog, ignoring the feeling that something is wrong that started at the bottom of his stomach
~
They returned to the castle in a few minutes, Keith just walked in the fog like he already knew where to go. And after arriving, the strange feeling started to become even stronger than before, after seeing his team reaction. Lance was expected to receive a scold from Shiro or Allura for the separation from them that was his fault, to hear Pidge calling him stupid, a disappointed look from Coran, but that didn’t happens. Instead, after getting out from the hangars, Pidge ran through the corridor to literally jump on Lance, making him really close to fall
“Lance! We found you! Oh shit I was thinking that you’ll never come back! Are you hurt? Keith told us that you might have hit you head, wanna go to the medical bay?”
“No I’m okay… Uhm, thanks Pidge?”
Pidge just nodded, giving him a bright Smile
“Oh if you are sure that’s ok! Oh come! Hunk is waiting for you in the kitchen, he was so worried, he’ll be happy to see you!”
Without warnings the girl grabbed the cuban wrist dragging him in the corridor and in the kitchen, when the two were welcoming with the usual smile that Hunk gave them, even more brighter when he come closer to Lance, hugging him tighter
“Lance! You’re here! Man, don’t make me get an heart attack ever again! I was worried sick for you! Are you feeling unwell?”
Lance laughed a bit looking at the big guy
“Nah man, I’m always fine, nothing can drag me down!”
Pidge rolled his eyes laughing a bit
“Yeah Yeah of course Lance you are. Let’s grab something to eat before going to Shiro, okay?”
Hunk finally let go of Lance, filling a plate with the green food goo before passing it to Lance, that took it a little insecure.
“Hey Buddy, you’re sure that is everything Ok?”
Lance didn’t want to see the concerned look over his best friend face, and he thinks that it wasn’t the case to tell them that something feels strange, however… He was at home, no? The cuban just shaked his head, with a smile a little bit forced
“No no! I’m fine, I’m totally fine… It’s just… I’m not too much hungry, that’s all”
Hunk and Pidge exchange a concerned look before the little girl speaks again
“Umh… Lance you should eat anyways, you were out for like more than four hours! You need to eat at least a little!”
Lance looked at Hunk that just simply nodded, truly worried, and the other boy sighed smiling more genuinely this time
“Thank you guys… Seem like I need you for even remember to eat uh?”
The others just smile as they watched their friend eat, relieved to see his expression more relaxed But Lance wasn’t relaxed, not for a little bit, he was thinking, completely lost.
I was out for four hour? I was pretty sure it was like an hour and half maybe two, but four…?
He shaked his head and finish his meal before standing up
“Alright guys! Shall we go now?”
Pidge instantly stand up, nodding
“Shiro is waiting for us in the other room, c’mon Let’s go!”
Then she rushed ahead of Lance, strangely happy, yelling at the two boys to hurry up. And if Lance was confused before, he became even more confused after he entered the observatory deck. Pidge hurried in, yelling happily and everyone in the room turn in Lance’s direction, smiling. Shiro immediately got to him, reaching his shoulder with his human arm, smiling
“Lance! Finally… I was worried, we lost contact with you as we landed on the planet. I’m glad you aren’t hurt or anything. I’m sorry, it’s my fault if you get lost. I should’ve warned you of the fog before you separate from us…”
“Nah… Don’t worry Shiro. It’s also my fault, I separate myself from you guys… I know, I made a mess didn’t I? I just worried you all without a reason…”
Lance looked down expecting a scold from his leader, but instead he felt the harm of the man rubbing his hair gently
“Stop apologizing Lance. It’s not your fault, we know that you’re like this, it’s ok really! Don’t worry about that. And stop saying that you made a mess. I’ve already said that you don’t need to worry right now.”
“Just remember…” Keith’s voice interrupted Shiro’s voice, and one of the boy’s arms wrapped around Lance’s shoulders “Don’t you ever try to worry us like this ever again. You got that, you idiot?”
Lance grinned, looking right at Keith
“Of course Mullet. You’ll just miss my perfect and beautiful presence after all”
Keith rolled his eyes, like the others, before laughing at Keith constatation
“Of curse. Believe that, brat”
“Okay that’s enough paladins!”
Allura come across the room, with Coran right after her, greeting the Cuban boy with an hug and a smile that only a sister would give to his younger brother
“Welcome back Lance” she smile again “Fortunately the fog dissolve enough for me to finally trace you. I thought that you heard what I said, so I didn’t notice that you were still there. I’m sorry…”
Lance shacked his head looking right in the Princess’s eyes
“Allu- I mean… Princess, don’t apologize please. It’s not your fault…”
Allura smile sadly giving him a kiss on the forehead
“Please… Call me Allura. You don’t need to be formal with me” she giggles before continuing “You must be tired. Now, go get some rest. Tomorrow you’ll join us again at the training deck, okay?”
“Thanks… Allura. But I’m pretty fine right now. I really want to see how Blue is doing instead”
Everyone exchanged a worried look, like they’re insecure if tells him something Lance opened his eyes wide looking at them
“G-Guys…? There’s something wrong with Blue…?!”
“Actually…” Coran takes a step looking at Lance “There were serious damages In the Blue Lion’s controls and generator. We are already at work to fix her but… It takes a little time, and actually we turn her offline, so the damages wouldn’t become even more serious… I’m sorry, But still! I promise that you’ll talk to your Lion very soon!”
Lance just nodded, looking at the floor.
How come? She was perfectly fine when we landed! We don’t even crash on the planet! Maybe the fog…? There was something in the fog that make her go in tilt?
And again, an hand reaches his shoulder and Lance looked up, now fully awake, to see Coran’s father-like look
“I’m sorry. Maybe I’ve should just tell you this tomorrow, maybe today was really too much. Lance you should go get some rest for real now…”
Everyone nodded and Pidge gently grab his arm
“C’mon Lance…! It’s not over! She’s fine, she just got some problems. Nothing that me and Hunk can’t resolve! So cheer up, we’ll work even faster than the light! Right Hunk?”
“Yeah faster than the lig- Wait no. Maybe not faster than the light, but we’ll work really really fast!”
Lance can’t help but giggle
“Thank you guys…”
They all smiled, wishing him for a good rest while he walk through the corridors and finally to his room. He blocked the room and dropping himself on the bed, before looking at the ceiling. He was hiding it, like he always hide his tears, but he was lost and confused, and the feeling of something strange going on, became a feeling of something wrong with the very atmosphere in the castle.
They’re not this kind to me usually. The most of the time I get scolded from Shiro because I always screw something up in the missions. And Allura never told me to call her nothing out from “Princess” and always looked disappointed at me. Even Keith and Pidge are… Strange. From when they’re so calm when I’m around them? They’re always so upset… This… Feels strange… And wrong… There’s something that I don’t get here…
In fact, like they said, he was out for like four hours. Not a whole day. Not a month. Not a year. Just four hours. Why all this Attention? He wasn’t even hurt so why everyone was so happy to see him? He sighed and buried his face in the pillow, closing his eyes
“I’ll think about it tomorrow…”
~
A week had passed and he could not talk to Blue yet Everytime Lance asked about his girl, the others just avoided the question, telling him not to worry about it, or told him that they were still working on it. And Lance started to be suspicious. Suspicious about the true entity of the damage, and suspicious about his teammates. He was sure that something was going on and they just don’t tell him what it was. He just feel betrayed. So one night He decided to go sees Blue himself. He slinked from his room, being cautious on not making any Noise, making his way to the hangars; but when he reaches for Blue’s, it was close.
“Uh…? Why this is closed…?!” He whispers, biting his tongue, suffocating his anger yell.
If only his hangar was closed, there was something going on for sure. He looked around before sitting right where he was closing his eyes.
C’mon girl… C’mon… Answer…
A few minutes passed, and Lance was about to leave, his mood down, when he finally hear Blue’s purrs
“Blue…! Finally! Girl I was worried, are you o-”
Lance you need to go out from here
“Uh? Blue what’s wrong why-”
I’m not your Blue, Lance. And you’re not my paladin.
The communication was unstable and the constant static sound makes the Cuban ever more confused and worried
“Blue, my girl, what are you saying? It’s still me Lance, don’t you recognize me?”
This is not your place. You don’t belong here with us.
“I don’t understand Blue… I don’t understand what are you saying…”
We’re in another dimension Lance. Different… From yours. When you were on the planet, they set the wormhole between our dimensions, and using the fog to hide it. Then they make you separate from your real team to take you here with us. And after that they tried to modify my memory, so I couldn’t tell you the trut. There… Is dangerous.
Lance grit his teeth even more confused, and angry
“But if this is another dimension… Doesn’t that mean that there are two of me? Where the othe-”
He’s dead. He died long time ago during a mission. He tried to protect the other, getting in exchange a shoot right in the head. He died few minutes after. There was nothing for us to do…
“That’s… That’s…” Lance was speechless. Another dimension? His other self died? Corrupting memories? What the hell was going on there?! But after all that happens, the extreme affection, their always avoiding to talk about Blue… All the suspicious he felt just explodes in his brain and in that moment, the only one he could trust was Blue; even if she wasn’t his Blue. Blue started to talk again
Listen Lance. When they lost you, they pass through a very difficult time. They’re mad with grief, and they’ll try everything to keep you with them. Be careful, it’s dangerous. They are dangerous. I’ll help you return home. I promise. When it’s time to go I’ll call you. In the meantime be very careful and take care of yourself
“But Blue I have so much questions!”
We don’t have time! If they found out that you talked to me you’re in trouble! You need to go! Someone is arriving. Go!
Lance opens instantly his eyes, getting up as much faster as he could before a familiar, but no more welcoming, voice came from his back
“Lance? What are you doing here?”
Lance turns to him. It was Keith. His eyebrows were frowned in suspicious as he walk past him
“Nothing Keith. Nothing really.”
He said after disappearing in the corridors. Maybe Blue was wrong, and everything was just a big mistake. But he wasn’t so sure anymore on who he should trust.
“I’ll trust anyone anymore from now on. We’ll see what happens” he said softly to himself after finally go back to his room, locking the door, before let himself drop on the bed, closing his eyes to finally sleep.

Keith reaches Allura that night, in the observatory. Both of them were concerned, most of the two were Allura. The Princess looked at the Korean, worry painted in her eyes
“So…?”
Keith was worried but now he was extremely cold
“I think he suspect us now. He was near the hangars. If he was able to talk to Blue… There might be the possibility that we got caught”
Allura looked down at the floor, thinking.
“… We already lost him once”
“I know that Princess…”
After seconds of silence, something got one of the control panels that lights up a bit: Allura just hitted it with the panic and the anger in her eyes, while two solitary tracks of tears had marked her cheeks
“I don’t care what it will cost. Don’t let him go, whatever happens!”
Keith nodded, a little afraid of the gaze of the Princess, a gaze that Keith hadn’t see for a long time
“Copy that. Princess”
