sometimes I think about how much I observe and study other people and what they do and say, so that I can attempt to copy them since i'm incapable of masking. my way of communicating is often through parroting what I hear other people say since my mind goes blank and I can't make my own words. (not just verbal but through text) I try to remember words and phrases to use to seem appropriate and acceptable. but I always use them wrong, or at the wrong time, or inappropriate and unacceptable way. a lot of these things I learn come from watching youtube and twitch. there's always the cool, trendy words and stuff. so i'll try to use them because it seems like what you're supposed to do and i literally dont know what else to do unless i monolog about a special interest which has only ever ended bad my entire life. but it still never helps me 😭

#sometimes i use to a friend who is also autistic and she gets very confused about it. so i say “i hear other people say it all the time #sorry maybe i didn't use it right“ and theres been times she completely misunderstands and gets upset #so i have to try to remember not to use these to her. but i forget sometimes. she watches more youtubers than i do so you think she'd know #these things though lol i assume all the youtubers she watches uses trendy words #(an example was she said her girlfriend put her feet on her so I said “for free?” and shes like wtf why would you say that?#uhhhh because i hear it nonstop on twitch if the word feet is said idk. so i repeat what i hear #lee rambles #autistic #autism #actually autistic #autism things #when youre autistic and being a word echoer ends up being the wrong way to communicate....#but you dont have much other ways to do it
