When they were Yaushikep, they would terrorize the village of Rebunge, however fervent prayer was answered by the sea god Repun Kamuy, who dragged Yaushikep into the sea, transforming the red spider into an octopus. Now, as Atkor Kamuy, they act as the ambivalent god of Uchiura Bay, equal parts protective and merciless, capable of swallowing passing ships and whales with ease.
When Atkor Kamuy appears above the waves, both the sky and the water are coloured red to reflect the scale of the deity's massive manifestation.

Akkorokamui
Akkorokamui is a gigantic octopus-like monster from Ainu folklore, similar to the Nordic Kraken, which supposedly lurks in Uchiura Bay in Hokkaido. It is said that its enormous body can reach sizes of up to 120 metres (390 feet) in length. Its name can be translated as "tentacle-holding kamuy."
According to legend, Akkorokamui was once a gigantic spider named Yaushikep who lived in the mountains nearby a village named Rebunge. One day, Yaushikep ascended down to Rebunge and caused havoc. Fearing for their lives, the villagers prayed to the gods to save them. Their prayers were answered by the sea god Repun Kamuy, who pulled Yaushikep into Uchiura Bay. It is said that Yaushikep turned into a giant octopus who took over the bay as its god and since then, he has been known by the villagers as At-kor-kamuy or Akkorokamui.
Ainu reverence of this monster has permeated into Shinto, which has incorporated Akkorokamui as a minor kami. Self purification practices for Akkorokamui are often strictly followed. While Akkorokamui is often presented as a benevolent kami with powers to heal and bestow knowledge, it is fickle and has the propensity to do harm. Akkorokamui's nature as an octopus means that it is persistent and it is near impossible to escape its grasp without permission.
Akkorokamui enjoys the sea and offerings which reflect this: fish, crab, mollusks, and the like are particular favorites of Akkorokamui, which give back that which it gave. Homage to Akkorokamui is often for ailments of the limbs or skin, but mental purification and spiritual release is particularly important.
Akkorokamui is characteristically described with the ability to self-amputate, like several octopus species, and regenerate limbs. This characteristic manifests in the belief in Shinto that Akkorokamui has healing powers. Consequently, it is believed among followers that giving offerings to Akkorokamui will heal ailments of the body, in particular, disfigurements and broken limbs.
Shrines in dedication to Akkorokamui and associated octopus deities are found throughout Japan.

Ok so since i have twin Yuus this is gonna be a bit longer since i'll have to answer the questions twice so
Miyu
What’s your MCs name? Miyu Yoshino
Are they human? Yes
When’s their birthday + zodiac sign? January 24th, aquarius
What’s their background? Miyu grew up in a small town in her family's dojo with her brother, parents and parental grandmother, she has never been able to be very facially expressive nor can she change her tone of voice as much as she'd like to which caused her difficulties interacting with other people since most of the time her words would get lost in translation. Due to her difficulty expressing herself her mother said she could still dress in a way that reflects her feelings which prompted her interest in fashion as well as designing and making her own fabrics
Were they originally from Twisted wonderland or did they come from a different world?Nope, she's japanese , she was originally from uchiura bay but i later changed it to a fictional town i have yet to name that's a mix of Uchiura and Beach City from Steven Universe
How did they end up in twst? One night Miyu couldn't sleep she decided to go see to the beach and feel the ocean on her feet, after the carrige took her brother she ran after it and got on it and later woke up in the same coffin as her brother
Do they speak more than 1 language? her native language is japanes but she knows a few english words and phrases
Are they a student? Despite not being enthusiastic about it she's also included as 1/3 of a student along with her brother and Grim. She had actually quit school after finishing middle school and instead decided to work as a apprentice at a textile shop while also helping around with her family's dojo
How are they as a student? Her performace depends on the class and teacher but most of the time she tend to zone out on the lectures since she doodles on her notebooks a lot and puts more effort into making her notes look nice and pretty than actually taking notes
What subject are they good at? Arts are her best subject but she's also good at math and potionlogy
What part of the school do they like to hang out? Miyu likes to walk around the school to seek inspiration for her designs but she tends to go to the botanical garden or sit under a tree around campus to sketch
What dorm do they belong to? Ramshackle
Do they use magic? No
Are they related to anyone at the school? She got isekaid with her twin brother so he's also there
Who are they close friends with? Floyd, Vil, Grim and Ace is in particular her closest friend
Do they have a special talents? She know how sew, weave, knit, draw, make designs, knowing people's meassurements, adaptability, martial arts and being observant
Any unique body features? Not exactly a body feature but Miyu lacks facial expressiveness
What teacher are they close to? She really admires Crewel dues to their mutual interest in fashion and enjoying stuff like chemestry a bit more than stuff like history
How strong are they? Since she grew up in a dojo she's been trained by her parents since she was young so she's actually decently strong
Are there any twst characters they don’t like? Miyu doesn't hold a grudge for long she may dislike someone for what they did for a short period of time but she moves on a bit easily therefore doesn't actively dislike anyone, Cater is someone she gets annoyed at a bit more but she still doesn't hold anything against him
Do they have a love interest? Yep, Floyd
What type of clothes do they like to wear? She mainly wears stuff she makes herself and has a preference for frills and more chich clothing. Her prefered color palette are variations of red or pink
Any fun facts about them?
Due to her strugles with expressing the right tone when she usually lets her brother speak for her or she takes a pause after every sentence to figure out the best way to word what she needs to say
She's a person who believes actions speak louder than words so sometimes she'll do stuff without telling people what she plans or what she's doing
She's a light sleeper and tends to wake up if it's too noisy or if something besides her covers touches her so sleeping was very difficult when she first got to Ramshackle due to originally having to share a room with Grim and her brother
Anything else you want to say about them? She's more of a reactive than proactive person, believing it's better to do the most out of the cards you've been dealt with than trying to plan for uncertanty and having it fall apart. A very "it is what is" type of person.
Yuito
What’s your MCs name? Yuito Yoshino
Are they human? Yes
When’s their birthday + zodiac sign? January 24th, aquarius
What’s their background? Yuito grew up in a small town in his family's dojo with his sister, parents and parental grandmother, he had always been a more rational person that didn't always understand why people acted the way they did which cause him to switch friend groups multiple times if he managed to make friends at all at school, eventually he started to be a bit more dramatic since he figured amplifying ones emotions is an easier way for people to understand eachother without previous knowledge as a way to compensate with his lackless of understanding of outside emotions themselves
Were they originally from Twisted wonderland or did they come from a different world? Nope, he's japanese , he was originally from uchiura bay but i later changed it to a fictional town i have yet to name that's a mix of Uchiura and Beach City from Steven Universe
How did they end up in twst? He was staying up late as usual when he heard something in the house and noticed his sister left to go outside so he followed her to ask about it, while they were outside he ggot ran over by the NRC carrige
Do they speak more than 1 language? he only really speaks japanase BUT he can read multiple languages after finishing reading a standard and urban dictionary due to his photographic memory
Are they a student? Yes and he's the one carrying their grades since he gets marks in most of his tests, the only exeptions ocassionally being interpretitive work which his sister makes up for
How are they as a student? He loves reading and seeing if he can apply what he remembers so he genually enjoys school and does his best
What subject are they good at? History but he does well in most classes
What part of the school do they like to hang out? If he's not in his own dorm fixing it, being one of Crowley's errand kids or getting draged into shenanigans against his will he basically lives in the school library
What dorm do they belong to? Ramshackle
Do they use magic? No
Are they related to anyone at the school? He got isekaid with his twin sister so she's also there
Who are they close friends with? Since he's dead set on returning home he's trying to keep a bit of distance but despite his efforts he's become close to Deuce, Riddle, Sebek and most of all Grim
Do they have a special talents? He has a photographic memory and loves to read so he remembers everything he learns from books and since he's pretty good at following instructions he can do like 72% of the stuff he's read about
Any unique body features? No
What teacher are they close to? He looks up to Trein due to his knowledge and maturity
How strong are they? Not only has he been training since he was young he's also planning to take over his family's dojo once he's an adult so he has trained harder than his siter making him physically stronger than her
Are there any twst characters they don’t like? Jade, Jamil, Leona, Azul and Vil His relationship with Malleus will depend a lot on the motive and resolution after his OB
Do they have a love interest? He has no plan of ever persuing it and is waiting for his feelings to whiter and die but he has a crush on Sebek
What type of clothes do they like to wear? He tends to wear fashionable clothes since he picked stuff up from his sister (plus her recomending and gifting him stuff without being asked) and really likes blazers or sweaters. His prefered color palette are variations purples or blues
Any fun facts about them?
He tends to really get into reading which can sometimes end up on him ignoring his surroundings a bit while still being somewhat aware of them (like Belle during the entire Belle song number)
He's a great listener and tends to enjoy when people ramble since it tells a lot about their passion about that subject. He also tends to ramble himself specially towards her sister or whoever listens
He's a deep sleeper who is extremely hard to wake up and needs some sort of physical stimulation such as pain or getting tickled
Anything else you want to say about them? He's a proactive person that prefers to have a plan although he's not always great with variables. At the start he tends to have a very black and white view of things, everything fits in a cerain category for him

Melody Air - Fly High: Sakura
Primary Pairing Trio: YuuAyuSetsu Rating: G Words: 653 Fandom: Love Live Nijigasaki Parent Fic: Melody Air - Fly High Time Frame: Sometime after the main story AU: Airline Event: Promptober 2022 Event Source: Idol Fanfic Heaven channel on Discord Prompt: Bloom
---------
Author’s Note: Entry for a Backup prompt
Summary: The trio take a flight to view the cherry blossoms
---------
“And now, if you’ll look straight ahead, coming up on the horizon, is Matsumae Park.” Yuu announced from where she sat in the back seat of Chase.
Ayumu listed happily to her girlfriend began to list random historic and current facts about the park, from when it was established to its hours of operation. The trio was flying to Sapporo for an overnight stay and a lot of cherry blossom viewing. But they were not taking the most direct route. Instead, Setsuna had planned a meandering flight plan that would take them over several popular Hanami festival areas. And one submarine base with a highway strip, about which the discussion had somehow led to this trip.
“I need to take her up.” Setsuna said, pulling back on the yolk, reminding her passengers of the minimum altitude she would need to maintain now that they were approaching a populated area.
However, even as Chase leveled off at her new altitude, it did little to diminish the glorious view.
“They’re beautiful…” Ayumu murmured as she watched a blooming sea of pink pass below them.
“I know, right?” She could hear Setsuna’s grin in the tone without needing to take her eyes off the blossoms.
“Next up we have the famous Goryokaku Park, a famous star-shaped park surrounded by a moat and popular tourist attraction.” Yuu continued to play the part of tour guide as Setsuna banked Chase to the right to follow the coastline up to Hakodate. “However, do keep an eye out for smaller parks along the way in places like Fukushima, Shiriuchi and Kikonai.”
“It will take us a little over half an hour.” Setsuna explained. “I’ve got her on course. Would you like to fly, Ayumu-san?”
“Alright.” Ayumu nodded.
Just a few months ago, Ayumu was far more hesitant to take control of Setsuna’s Cessna, but recently, she had started looking forward to it. She still lacked the confidence to perform take off and landing maneuvers, but just flying and maintaining course and altitude was fun.
“Ne, Yuu-san.” Setsuna turned in her seat. “Can I do the rest of Goruokaku Park?”
“Of course.” Yuu handed her tablet forward before giggling. “Is that why you let Ayumu fly?”
“I… uhm… well, maybe a little…” Setsuna admitted. “I just… I have fond memories of Goryokaku. My parents took me many places when I was young as they wanted me to learn about our nation’s history. And the fort, or park, was one of those places. But I also know how much Ayumu-san likes flying now.”
“And Setsuna-chan loves sharing the things she loves with the ones she loves.” The teasing was gone from Yuu’s tone.
“I do. Very much so.” Setsuna confirmed, still behaving as though she was being teased. “A-Anyway, Ayumu-san, I’ll take over again when we start getting closer to Yakumo.” She mentioned the area with the military base and highway strip. “Then you can fly again as we round Uchiura Bay, up to Noboribetsu, then arc up through Chitose, following the railway.”
“And Setsuna-chan will land us in Sapporo.” Ayumu concluded.
“Mm.” Setsuna nodded. “Anyway, the Goryokaku fort was built near the end of the Tokugawa shogunate to protect the Tsugaru Strait against a possible invasion by a Russian fleet. Its star design was inspired by a French architect, Vauban, and allowed a greater number of gun emplacements.”
“Kinda like the one on Liberty Island in the States?” Yuu asked.
“Yes, although Fort Wood is actually an eleven-pointed star, unlike Goryokaku, which only has five. Citadel of Jaca in Spain might be a better comparison.”
“Hrm… but isn’t that one land locked?” Yuu considered. “At least Fort Wood was also designed to defend a waterway.”
“You’re not wrong.”
Ayumu couldn’t help laughing. “I thought Setsuna-chan and Yuu-chan were only obsessed with aviation history.”
“We can expand our horizons sometimes.” Yuu insisted.
“Mm.” Ayumu smiled and let her girlfriends resume their discussion.
---------
Author’s Note Continued: I can’t see the word bloom without thinking about Ayumu and her solos at this point. And I had recently written an entry about her and her girlfriends planning a trip to Sapporo to attend a Hanami festival there. This one pretty much wrote itself.
And with this, my Promptober 2022 is officially complete. Only a week late in posting the final chapters, but... que zura, zura. Now to get back to work on my queue... that I’ve only made longer with the ideas I’ve come up with during this event.

Akkorokamui - アッコロカムイ
The Akkorokamui is a gigantic octopus that resides in Uchiura Bay Hokkaido. It's said that it is so big that it can swallow boats and whales whole. Its entire body is red and when it appears the sea and sky turn red as a reflection. If any ship sails too close to the Akkorokamui it will be swallowed whole. Akkorokamui comes from Ainu folklore, where it is called the Atkorkamuy. Its name can be translated as “string-holding kamuy.” String-holding refers to the octopus’s string-like tentacles, while kamuy is an Ainu term for a divine being (similar to the Japanese term kami). In Ainu folklore, Akkorokamui is both revered and feared as the lord of Uchiura Bay.

Atuikakura is a Japanese yōkai that resembles a giant sea cucumber. It is said to live deep underwater, and is therefore never seen.
Occasionally, it will latch onto a piece of detritus and move about Uchiura Bay, where it lives. Despite its reclusive nature, it is said to be very dangerous to ships, which it can badly damage when it starts to thrash if it is startled.

Muroran and Noboribetsu Day Trip
We awoke to snow the morning of our road trip and I was suddenly running late when I realised I would have to clear off the car! It had frosted up and stuck to the windscreens making it take much longer than just brushing off powder snow, but as I pulled up Rezki and Kelly could see my debacle. The remainder of snow melted off on our drive to pick up Naoki and further to our first stop at the viewpoint over Muroran’s Uchiura Bay. It had been warm in the car but up here it was quite chilly and I had left my jacket in the car so just took a quick photo and then went back down. I had tried to drive over the bridge for the other viewpoints however we got a bit confused with the directions and ended up not actually crossing over the bridge but rather heading into the centre of Muroran. We replanned and rerouted ourselves to the café we had designated for our lunch, but now it was more like brunch. We arrived at Café Colony at 11.01 just after it opened for the day (I had read some reviews that it can take a very long time so it wasn’t a bad thing to be early!). I had the French toast pancakes which were amazing, Naoki went for bacon and eggs on pancakes, and Kelly had a combo with pancakes and a risotto. Rezki was doing his Ramadan fast so he couldn’t eat or drink anything which must be so hard for him because he is usually always eating. After our meal we went for a little walk around the city centre and got some cash out at the post office. Back in the car and we took our original route (but in reverse) through some viewpoints. It was a very steep climb up the mountain, with tight roads and hairpin turns to get right up to the top and we wondered how people usually drive up here in their Kei cars (tiny cars with maximum engine size of 660cc)... But it didn’t take very long before we reached our first lookout point Kameiwa! It was super windy up there despite the sunny clear skies that allowed us to see way down the coast to central Muroran city. Taking photos on the edge we were all feeling a little scared that the wind would blow us over the barrier and down the cliff, but we all survived to drive onwards another few minutes to Cape Chikyu. Kelly was already hungry again so she bought a few skewers to eat as we walked around the observation deck overlooking a lighthouse on the cape cliff edge. Rezki took his time getting all the shots perfect and we used the built in selfie stand to try and capture a photo but the angle wasn’t any good for getting the lighthouse in the background (only sky!). We then drove to the Hakucho Bridge again to take photos underneath but the now grey skies had started to drizzle and while Rezki and Kelly were running around trying to film the birds floating in one place in the wind it actually started to snow! Us stopping at this bridge spot had successfully disturbed the Japanese salarymen who were taking a nap in their cars and they’d driven off in hopes to escape but we were hot on their tails making our way back over the bridge and onwards to Noboribetsu. Kimbo’s noisy tyres (bad wheel bearing) rumbled us all the way to the main parking lot where we left him to walk around the observation boardwalk running through the Jigokudani crater field known as Hell’s Valley. We had it all to ourselves and could take as many photos as we wanted without anyone in the background! Kelly convinced the parking attendant to let us drive up to the other lot at the top and then return to this one and he agreed. At the other lot he checked our ticket and we walked down the road to the onsen footbath leading from the Oyunuma Pond but unfortunately the hot spring water seemed to get cooled down by all the cold rocks on the way and the footbath wasn’t warm at all! It did feel nice with all the minerals anyway so we spent a little while soaking our feet before taking Kimbo back down and then exploring the small town centre of Noboribetsu. We bought a few souvenirs and snacks and Kelly and Naoki also had ice creams. With a little bit of time to kill before the end of Rezki’s fast (and our planned meal for him) we stopped briefly at Itanki Beach in Muroran where it was again insanely windy and cold – Kelly didn’t even want to get out of the car and stayed napping in there. Rezki went for a long walk on the beach and Naoki and I did a few minutes before we were freezing and joined Kelly in the car. Our final stop was McDonald’s in Date arriving right at sunset so Rezki was allowed to eat. We ordered so much food and sat together to eat our first course of burgers, nuggets and fries. Then a second course of apple pies. But the ice cream machine was broken so there were no third course desserts unfortunately – maybe another visit will be necessary!

ATKOR KAMUY
Archetype : Beast
A gigantic octopus god residing at Hokkaido’s Uchiura bay. Their body are red, and their humongous size makes them look as if the sky turned red. They are hostile god that preys on ships that foolishly pass near them. Sailors are said to avoid sailing when the sky turned red as it signals the appearance of this octopus god.
He is once a gigantic spider named Yaushikep. Long ago when he’s a spider, he destroyed everything in his path with his large, red body and limbs. The terrified villagers prayed to the gods of the sea to save them. Repun Kamuy heard their prayers, pulled the spider to the sea where he transformed into a giant octopus.

(pm) Walker. You know anything about demons and/or minor deities that take the form of cephalopods?
(pm) I would pretend that there aren’t journals full of creepy tentacle monsters around there, but that’d be a lie.
Supposedly, Scylla used to be a beautiful Nix until one of her jealous sisters, Amphitrite, put a Fae-bullshit curse on her that transformed her into this giant octopus with six wolf mouths and six long snakeheads.
Lilyi is a tentacle-fish demoness of Romani myth, likes to cause all kinds of disease. Legend says that she’s the product of Demon and Fae sex, kinky.
Togo-Tuma-Here is an octopus demon from the Tuamotu Archipelago, likes to eat hot chicks while they surf. What a dick.
Akkorojamui is the red octopus demon that’s been preying in Uchiura Bay for a while. Used to be a spider demon before shit went down apparently.
One big name here is Kanaola of Hawaii, a god of the sea, sorcery, and the underworld. Takes the souls of the drowned and fallen spirits to live with him. Some New Age cults to him use a seven-pointed “eye” star surrounded by concentric circles and divided by eight lines.
Tangaroa is the Maori octopus god, had lots of crazy sea-monster babies. Like, lots and lots of babies.
Na Kika is an octopus god from the gilbert islands, likes to build islands.
Probably the most famous big-ass tentacle monster in the Americas is a cryptid known as a Lusca, that supposedly lives in the deep holes dotting the Caribbean. As you’d know, the Kraken is the Lusca’s Norse-Legend cousin.
Why the interest in Squid Gods?

The Hamartia Arc: Through Brine and Tides (Part 1)
((Agent 7, Bigfin Splatoon, Calypso and Leviathan, Octo Squadron Megalodon, Kimun and the Neanderthal Tribesmen, and Laguna “Garza” Rayne, Abigail Atled Calliostro, and others belongs to me
Agent Blueshift belong to @myzzy
Wonder Inkling and Wonder Inkling Jr. belong to @inklingleesquidly
Agent 0 belongs to @son-of-joy
Ampth, Mercury, and Cell (mentioned) belong to @teamuntyblue
Shadow and Alphaserv Network (mentioned / cameo) belong to @alphaservnetwork ))
Shadow and his band of Mercenaries were already prepared to leave Aomori. Some got on the speed train offered by Agent 7. Some took the long road to go to other parts of Japan.
Agent 7 was glad to have them helping him in Operation Ezo. The whole purpose of this part of the phase was to push back the invasion of the Great Amemasu Federation of Hokkaido.
Now the next phase begins.
A counterattack.
Agent 7 and his allies have gotten the word about Senates action to court-martial Agent 7 and the army he built to fight the Federation. The news article from Inkopolis was what brought Agent 7′s attention. He is now left with a choice: Either return to Inkopolis and face the court-martial’s charges which would dissolve his army, or make the counterattack and take the fight to Hokkaido. And waiting for Inkopolis’ Military to come to apprehend them wasn’t an option.
His decision was the latter. This war is far from over.
Agent 7 has a number of boat pilling up in the harbor along with the military warships that were captured. Most of the boats were fishing boats and cargo ships, but they were being offered by resistance fighters who helped liberate the cities invaded by the Federation. He can see them being converted into small warships.
Military vehicles were being maintained and stores on the warships while aircraft were going through brief patrols to protect the harbor.
The army that agent 7 mustered during Operation Ezo also changed. With the Alphaserv Network now moving onto other affairs, the numbers have dwindled in strength. However, their efforts did provide the army with new resources and new recruits. And news of the Operation’s success is new forcing more private military companies to either join or remain in Inkopolis. Inkopolis’ Military was also split, with some beginning to go rogue and head north. But in the end, it doesn’t change the fact that the Senate still have to court-martial Agent 7 and likely the army he formed.
Agent 7 was waiting at the train station, having got a message from several allies requesting a meeting in Aomori. When the speed train arrived, several familiar faces came out: Agent Blueshift, Wonder Inkling and Wonder Inkling Jr. (Junior), and Agent 0.
Agent 7 saluted to them. However, they didn’t salute back.
“Is... there something wrong?” Agent 7 asked.
“It’s about the court-martial,” Wonder Inkling answered before showing the newspapers, “You made headlines around Inkopolis and the Octo-Territories.”
“She sounded pretty pissed when she accused you as some rogue,” Agent 0 added.
“And there is a number of people already split from both the public and the military,” Blueshift added.”
“Who has my back here?” Agent 7 wondered.
“There’s Ampth, Mercury, and Cell, already making moves to make Octo Valley and Octo Canyon cooperate in supporting you,” Blueshift listed, “There’s Sanada and the Ammonites, now funding and campaigning to support your actions. The other refugee clans that Sanada has connections to are also taking action to help the liberated cities. And then there's Captain Cuttlefish who is already responding to Senator Abigail’s decision even if they don’t approve of what you did.”
“How did you take this news when you first saw it?” Junior asked.
“Well first off, I was mad, then Shadow decided to rip it apart.” Agent 7 crosses his arms. “And second, I decided to follow through with performing a counter-attack. What else?”
“Agent 7, you do know you can’t defy the government after pulling that stunt,” Junior pointed out.
“You sure got yourself into a bigger mess after you were freed from exile,” Blueshift commented.
“The Inkopolis executive is still commander-in-chief, why aren’t they doing anything about this?” Agent 7 asked. “I swear Inkopolis can just follow through with this outrageous plan for peace.”
“We tried talking about this privately with them,” Junior explained, “But somehow Abigail has gained control of some communication lines and severed the one between The Inkopolis Defense Force.”
“That and she has somehow got the senate to control the defenses of Inkopolis,” Agent Blueshift noted.
“Agent 7, what makes you think this is outrageous?” Wonder Inkling questioned.
“We can’t make peace with them as long as Hector is leading them,” Agent 7 argued, “And if Senator Abigail wants to make peace, she’s mistaken. She’ll be asking him to raze Inkopolis to the ground starting opening the city’s gates.”
“You got a point there... what happened to those trials and social experiments that he’s performing on you?” Wonder Inkling Jr. pointed out.
“I think it’s waiting in Hokkaido,” Agent 7 turned away, “Does anyone know where the Squid Sisters are at that time of the news?”
They all hesitated.
Then Blueshift answered. “They were last seen traveling to Calamari County. If it’s about Marie, she’s okay.”
Agent 7 sighed with relief. “With that out of the way, what do you guys say? Are you joining me or what?”
Agent 7 was giving them a fair amount of time to think and decide. If they join him, this would be going against the Inkopolis Government. If they don’t, they would likely have to apprehend Agent 7 and bring him back to face the crimes.
“I’m in,” Agent 0 decided.
Everyone looked at him.
Agent 0 has his reasons. “I was blackmailed to poison Agent 7, and Hector is gonna pay for putting me in that position.”
“I have to join too!” Junior joined. “That private talk with Hector was so cryptic, but the way this petty feud has been turning you has to end!”
Wonder Inking sighed. “I have to agree. That Abigail girl is beyond reasoning at this point. I’m in.”
And lastly, Blueshift had made his decision, starting with a nod to Agent 7.
“I’m not doing this for Marie, I know you still care a lot for her.” He removes his shades and revealed his face for a moment. “I’m doing this for what is considered my home and for everyone I know, including you.”
Their responses left Agent 7 with a slight smile on his face. He’s confident that he can end this war, once and for all.
“We’re going to a three-pronged approach when fighting our way to Sapporo, the capital of the Amemasu Federation of Hokkaido. I’ll fill you in on what we have.”
The Next Day...
Calypso, Sarah Phenotyne, and Octo Squadron Megalodon were sent off early to take Kojima Island and use it at one of the bases to stop Amemasu Fleets from sailing to the west side of Japan’s mainland. Resistance fighters from Operation Ezo took care of the eastern side of Japan’s Mainland with their fleets.
Kimun was about to leave with his Neanderthal Tribesmen, leading a small fleet that would sail for Hokuto which was Hokkaido’s closest port to Japan. He had another ship sail further north to gather more tribesmen. Agent 7 was saying farewell to him. Wonder Inkling and Wonder Inkling Junior woke up early to meet this Kimun.
“Ah, Wonder Inklings, I would like to introduce you to Tribe Chief Kimun,” Agent 7 introduced, “He’s leaving early for Hokkaido to clear a path for us.”
Wonder Inkling looked at Kimun from head to toe.
“So this is a Neanderthal,” Junior began, curious of Kimun’s appearance, “I can see the similarity with the human fossils in the Sunken Scrolls.”
Kimun had his eyes on Wonder Inkling.
“Mr. Kimun, it’s rude to stare,” Wonder Inkling stated.
Kimun shook his head and came to his senses. “Sorry. Out of all the squids and octopi I’ve seen, you are one of the most—”
“Kimun, focus,” Agent 7 interrupted.
Wonder Inkling knows what he was going to say next. “Oh, sir, you flatter me.”
“Yes... yes... I must go now.” Kimun adjusts his robes and turned. “Some Amemasu need to be fished.” He ascends the rails to one of the warships.”
“Well that was a brief meet-up,” Agent 7 commented.
“We decided to wake up early,” Wonder Inkling replied.
Once Blueshift and Agent 0 were awake, Agent 7 did a roll call with Bigfin Splatoon. He picked up his handheld transceiver. His agents were on a different warship in the harbor.
“Sound off,” Agent 7 commanded.
“Agent Beta 4.13 standing by.”
“Agent Beta 8 standing by.”
“Agent Recruit Jiang, ready!”
“Agent Recruit Tavi, is prepared to depart.”
“Agent Recruit Circe, ready to depart.”
Then two more response came in, and they were the sounds of Zapfishes.
“Hear you loud and clear, Wattsby and Edison.” Agent 7 shook his head, smiling. He then looked to the Wonder Inklings, Agent 0, and Blueshift. “Next stop, Uchiura Bay.”
More than Five Hours Later...
Gravis Blenncove, the Bear-clawed Pikeman, and leader of The Sealine of Uchihara Bay, hasn’t been idle and os wasn’t the Federation. His military contingent has been using the cities around the bay as a set of naval watchtowers to patrol the waters between Hokkaido and Japan. So far, they’ve recalled all naval fleets by the orders of Hector after the invasion was stopped. It was to prepare for an expected counter-attack.
Colonel Jenna, the named Commander-in-Chief of the Federation, and Gavis’s prized asset in his alliance with Hector, she was ready to prove to the people that she was the last line of Hector’s Defense. In fact, she has devised a three-line defense tactic that’s meant to slow down whatever counter-attack was going to be made.
Jenna and Gavis are already discussing this with the Sharkling despot Hector and another ally, Klaveran, Leader of the Lakelike of Lake Toya. Klaveran was Hector’s crayfish teacher before the Federation was established. He appeared with fewer legs and moving on a wheelchair. Their meeting is the island inside Lake Toya.
Colonel Jenna had a map laid out along with markers the represent the three-lines. “The first line will be in the bay which Gravis will command. There will be an ink-mine field from the Koma-ga-take Mountain Peak to the city of Muroran. The harbors in Uchiura Bay will have fleets we’ve recalled. We already secured defense on Tamakomai’s and Sapporo’s harbors if they plan on trying to get to the capital with haste. The second line is in an area between Mount Yotei, Lake Toya, and Lake Shikotsu. We will have to lure them here a surround them. If all else fails, the third line is in the Minami Ward all the way to Hector’s residence. That’s where I’ll form a final stand.”
“Impressive...” Hector commented.
“And I’ve been hearing from Gavis that Klaveran has a secret weapon we could use with the Brine Solution,” Jenna mentioned, “I want to know the progress and when it can be supplied to the lines.”
“From my facilities, the researchers estimate 48 hours to complete the first batch of secret weapons. And it will take less than 12 hours to supply them to each line.” Klaveran held out a laptop. “I suggest you have the first line try and hold out until the weapons are completed.”
“Understood.” Jenna bowed.
“I trust you with these defense lines while I prepare my final trail for the son of Jason Gatz-Ling Cassius.” Hector took a deep breath from his respirator. “I must be on my way then—”
An inkling in the Amemasu military uniform ran in, adjusting his scarf. He then saluted. “Colonel Jenna! There is an attack at Hokuto coming from one of our warships. And there is an aerial strike and an invasion on Kojima Island!”
“Must be the same Neanderthal tribes that snuck past us and stole our ships from days ago. As for the attack on Kojima Island...” Colonel Jenna looked at her map. She slams a fist. “Klaveran, prepare an escort to take Hector back to Sapporo. Gravis, I’m joining you in the first line.”
“Very well, Jenna.” Gavis has no problem with this change.
“What’s in your mind, Colonel?” Hector questioned.
“This is Seven’s way of saying he’s coming,” Jenna calculated. “That is why I must suggest you go back to Sapporo.”
And with that Hector appreciated Jenna’s loyalty. “And that is why I named you Commander-in-Chief.” He leaves immediately with Klaveran following him.
Gravis and Jenna left as well, gathering the men to one of the cities of Uchiura Bay. There, the cities were already in haste, with the military garrison signaling one another.

I completed the ultimate journey to prove my love for Ruby Kurosawa (1/19/2019)
Or maybe the ultimate journey would have been to go to Numazu just to eat that giant Ruby birthday parfait at the Sun! Sun! Sunshine cafe, but I never got to do that and I think I have successfully atoned with this.
I’m going to describe this in like... excruciating detail just so that a record remains for anyone else looking into embarking on this same journey.
So basically, if you visit Numazu there are unique stamps and sometimes badges of Aqours members you can collect at different businesses around town. The hardest one of all I believe, is a Ruby badge. (Tied with a Kanan badge in the same area.) See below:
The red circle is the main Numazu city area, the blue circle is Uchiura area where a lot of the anime took place, and the pink circle... is Ose Cape (大瀬) where I had to go for the Ruby badge.
Every time I have ever been to Numazu, I always left whining that I could not get that one holy grail of a badge.... until now.
There are only two buses leaving from Numazu city which go all the way out to Ose Cape on the weekend (many buses go in that direction but not all the way) and they are at 10:25 and 16:35. (Also 6:35 am but only on weekdays.)
However, the last bus back From Ose Cape on weekends is at 12:09.
So basically what this means is, if you take that 16:35 bus from Numazu on the weekend... you ain’t getting back. So the only option on the weekend is to take the 10:25 there, which takes over an hour and gets in at around 11:40, and from there then you have about 30 minutes to make sure as hell you get that badge and get back on the bus.
Admittedly it is easier on weekdays, as there is a bus back at 18:15, but I hope you like looking at the ocean because unless you plan on diving or something that’s what you’ll be doing for the next six hours until the next bus comes....
So I decided to try for that 10:25 to 12:09 run. Before getting on the bus, I agreed with myself that if I missed the 12:09 bus back I would be fine with walking 3 hours back to Uchiura if that’s what I had to do. But on the way there I soon realized that would not be possible. Not because of the distance, but because of the roads: The farther you get from the center of Numazu, the thinner the roads get and there is no sidewalk.
On one side a mountain, on the other a drop down into the abyss.
By the way this has nothing to do with this story but on the way you pass by this abandoned bus....
It’s a “bus restaurant bar” and looks like it still has alcohol bottles inside... it also says “Yokohama Bay City” on it, which is nowhere near Numazu, so damn I would love to know the story how it ended up here.
But anyway.
So I got to Ose Cape and left the bus in quite a panic because I felt I just could not afford miss that 12:09 bus back.
I must have looked it, or at least looked very out of place, because a man came out of a diving shop and said “Can I help you?”
So I was like “Um umm um.... where can I buy a Ruby badge....”
And he was like oh, follow me. So I followed him to the gift shop next door which he opened for me and sold me a badge. Whether it was actually open at this time or he opened it just for me, I’m not sure. But at this point I was so embarrassed I ended up just buying one badge because I couldn’t bring myself to ask for more. BUT YOU BETTER FUCKING BELIEVE I WILL TREASURE IT.
The display they had in the gift shop:
The badge:
The huge mob of divers on the beach:
And thus finally completed my Numazu Ruby badge collection! (....Or at least, that’s what I would have said if I didn’t double check only to realize there was a new one I didn’t have yet, but luckily that one was in a MUCH easier place.)
At this point I didn’t even want to risk getting lost to find the Kanan badge that is also supposed to be here somewhere and just headed back to the bus stop.
This is where our story should end and would have ended if wasn’t A COMPLETE IDIOT. But I actually ended up walking back part of the way even though I did make the bus.
For the sake of helping anyone else that may find themself in this situation (or perhaps just for your amusement more likely...) I will continue the story for anyone who wants to read....
I got back on the bus so quickly I didn’t notice that I actually didn’t have money for it. Buses in Numazu don’t take IC cards like the buses in bigger cities usually do, and you can only pay with exact change. There is a machine to make change on the bus but it can’t take anything over a 1000 yen bill. I only had a 5000 yen bill, which I could not break down, and about 600 yen in change. I knew 600 yen wasn’t enough to get me back to Numazu or even the Uchiura area, but if I rode the bus longer than 600 yen I would have to pay 5000 yen without getting any change back.
So I rode for about 600 yen, got off the bus and was like... Lol K now what.
I wasn’t too panicked though. It was a beautiful frikkin day and I still had six hours to make it back to Numazu before the CYaRon live viewing show I was planning to go to that evening.
I decided to just try walking the remaining 1-2 hours back to Uchiura where there is much more civilization, but soon re-realized that wasn’t possible. After walking for about 20-30 minutes the road just got too narrow with no visibility and I decided it was just too dangerous to risk it.
Luckily I made it far enough to be back in an area with more buses though, and I did technically have money for the bus, but just not the right kind of money. So I started looking around for some type of business where I could buy something and get change for 5000. I saw nothing. One side of the road was houses, on the other was the ocean and Mount Fuji.
So I was like... OK... my options are a.) Risk getting hit by a car, b.) Knock on the door of some random house and beg for change, c.) Call a taxi? But even if I did I wouldn’t know how to tell them where I was (....between a house and Mount Fuji) and if even I did then I might as well just spend 5000 yen to take the bus anyway.
Still, I wasn’t too panicked because after all it wasn’t raining, it wasn’t hot, and I was in one of my fucking favorite places in the whole world. There are much worse situations to get stuck in.
So I took out my phone again and started looking for some kind of business in the area.
I found... and I still can’t believe how lucky I was... a mandarin orange warehouse. But attached to that mandarin orange warehouse was an agricultural bank... which was not open on weekends but BUT!! It had an ATM which was open AND SOMEHOW accepted my out of prefecture bank card!! So I was able to get some 1000 yen bills to take the bus. PHEW!!!
So I walked back to that nearest bus stop between the house and Mount Fuji. There I took the below photo (Fuji just visible in the top right) and sat for about an hour waiting for the next bus to come.
But I did not mind in the slightest.
When the bus finally came I took it back to Uchiura where I went to the seafood restaurant that had the actual final Ruby badge. Then waited at that bus stop for another hour to get back to Numazu. I took this photo of my bag then with, finally, the complete set (for now anyway) of seven badges in it:
I got back to Numazu in plenty of time for that CYaRon viewing and that’s the story.
So if you’re ever going to visit the Numazu area and want some advice hit me up!
Or maybe don’t, re-reading this catastrophe....
But it did all work out fine in the end and I think I succeeded in proving my love for Ruby.
Kicked off of the bus For not quite enough money It’s snowing on Mt. Fuji

Akkorokamui
The Akkorokamui is a gigantic octopus-like monster from Ainu folklore, equivalent to the Nordic Kraken, which lurks in Uchiura Bay in Hokkaido. It is said that its enormous body can reach sizes of up to 120 metres (390 feet) in length. Its name can be translated as “string-holding kamuy.”

FemslashFeb2022: Putting on Hairs: Answering the Call
Primary Pairing: ChikaYou Words: ~1.1k Rating: G? Fandom: Love Live Sunshine AU: Monster, Cryptid, Theater Prompt: Mermaids Parent Fic: Putting on Hairs Time Frame: Sometime just before the main story
---------
Author’s Note: Entry for the 11th
Summary: Chika has something she wants to tell You
---------
Chika checked her phone again and sighed.
Late.
She’s late again.
Chika stared out to where the sea touched the sky.
Nothing.
Maybe she should have brought binoculars.
Oh…
Chika’s ears perked up.
Lovely, lilting lyrics wafted in with the waves.
Chika scrambled to her feet, stripped to her bikini top and dove into the water. In a flash, her human lower torso morphed into that of a fish with orange tinted scales.
The song was clearer underwater, and Chika easily homed in on the source. Powerful strokes from her tail sent her torpedoing forward faster than any fish in the ocean.
Within minutes, Chika had reached her destination, a sizable ferry making its way toward Uchiura Bay. She knew it was empty, save for its crew, so she was safe for what she was about to do next.
Chika aimed toward the surface and launched herself up out of the water, past the bow of the ship. As she fell, feathered wings stretched out to catch her.
“You-chan!” Chika giggled before wrapping her arms around her girlfriend’s neck to pull herself in for a kiss. “Welcome back!” She then leaned back to wave at You’s father at the helm.
Captain Watanabe nodded but otherwise did not take his attention away from steering the ship.
“Chika-chan…” You said in a concerned tone. “Did you swim out here without your clothes? Again?”
“Mm?” Chika tilted her head with confusion for half a moment before her eyes widened with realization. “Wahhh!” She cried. “I totally forgot!”
You sighed. “Kanan-chan has given you several waterproof bags just for that reason…”
“I’m sorry!” Chika continued to panic. “But I did leave everything on the pier this time, instead of on the beach. Everyone who works there knows I’m a mermaid, so I shouldn’t have to worry… right?”
“Everyone who works at the pier, yes.” You conceded. “But not necessarily everyone who visits.”
Chika whined.
You chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll retrieve everything once we dock and we’ll find you a safe place to change.”
“Thanks, You-chan!” Chika cried before pulling herself in for another kiss.
“So, what’s got you so excited that you forgot to bring your clothes again?”
“Oh! Dia-chan called me this morning! She wants me to go to Tokyo!” Chika bounced excitedly in You’s wings. “She wants to use my script for the first production at the theater she just opened!”
“That’s amazing!” You grinned. “Congratulations!”
“Mari-chan and Kanan-chan have already moved up there.” Chika continued to explain. “Apparently Mari-chan is like one of the theater’s biggest patrons or something.”
“Of course.”
“And they’re like staying up there for good, I guess. Kanan-chan’s got a new shop opening up soon on the bay and Mari-chan’s got the penthouse in her hotel there.”
You nodded. “And Dia-chan?”
“She’s still living on her own, as far as I know.”
“Must still be upset with Mari-chan, then.”
“I guess.” Chika conceded with a shrug.
Chika never really understood why the three had a falling out, but she had really only heard some of Kanan’s side as she had been friends with her since childhood. Apparently, Dia and Mari’s stubbornness had come to a head and Kanan had been unable to mediate the situation, leaving her heartbroken for quite a while. Recently, Mari and Kanan had worked things out between them, and now it seemed they had their sights on setting things right with Dia.
But that wasn’t what had Chika excited. Sure, she was happy one of her childhood friends was on the path toward happiness again, hopefully. But she had a request of her other childhood friend, the one she was now dating.
“Anyway, I was hoping You-chan would go to Tokyo with me.”
“You mean like a vacation?” You asked.
“Maybe, though not for me.” Chika admitted. “My script isn’t quite finished yet, so it could be a week or two, maybe longer. But, Dia and her business partner… uhm… Sodona Umi? I think?”
“Dia is working with the daughter of the prestigious Sonodas?” You was impressed.
“You know them?”
You chuckled. “Of course. They own several theaters around the Tokyo area, both stage and screen. They’re one of the biggest names in the industry here in Japan. The main reason the Kurosawas are not in direct competition is that they’ve always stayed south of Tokyo, like here in Numazu. Well, that and they’ve focused only on the live stage side of things. But now it seems they’ve joined forces through the next generation.”
“You-chan sure knows a lot!”
“You learn a thing or two when you talk to a bunch of your regular passengers.”
“Hrm… Maybe I should start talking with our guests more…”
“Maybe. I’m sure at least one or two would be interested in hearing about your latest play.”
Chika scrunched her nose in a pout. “Only one or two?”
“Well, an original play would definitely be more interesting to the average individual than all the derivative drabble you post on those fanfic sites.”
“Mohhh!” Chika whined, playfully batting a balled hand against You’s shoulder. “I thought You-chan liked those stories!”
“I do, but someone like Dia-chan or Sonoda-san isn’t going to put money into a production based on those. Your play, however…” You grinned. “Well, when do we head to Tokyo?”
“Wa~i!” Chika cheered, bouncing happily in her girlfriend’s strong wings again. “Oh! Mari-chan offered me, us, accommodations at her hotel. We’ll still need to figure out food, but she said the room has a kitchen that we can use to cook.”
“That’s generous of her.”
“I know, right! Oh! And you know that my play is a musical, right?”
“Yes…”
“You should totally try out for a singing part!”
For a brief moment, You’s expression changed as she very obviously considered the possibility. Chika knew that as a siren, singing was one of You’s greatest passions. Well, that and diving. And uniforms. And working on her father’s ferry.
“But wouldn’t that cause issues with casting?”
Chika blinked. “Why would it?”
“Because you’re the writer and would have casting decisions?”
“I would?”
“It’s your play. Why wouldn’t you have some say in who plays the characters you’ve written?”
Chika realized she hadn’t considered that possibility, however, even now that she had, she was still unsure why it would be a problem.
“Maybe I can just put in a good word for you?” Chika decided to offer.
You laughed. “Maybe, we’ll see. If nothing else, I can always help out at Kanan’s shop if I need something to fill the time while you’re at the theater.”
“Yeah, that’d work to, although I’d really love to hear You-chan sing one of my songs…”
“Again, we’ll see… Ah!” You shrugged her shoulders and her wings morphed into human arms. “We’re almost there. And I see your clothes. Why don’t I meet you under the pier with them so you can change?”
“Alright.” Chika agreed.
With that, Chika slipped out of You’s arms and dropped back down into the water. As she swam toward the pier, excited thoughts about the theater continued to fill her mind. She couldn’t wait to go to Tokyo.
---------
Author’s Note Continued: I realized upon starting this chapter that I’ve never written ChikaYou before. I mean I’ve implied they’re a couple a time or two over in Happy Life, but... I guess here’s hoping I didn’t botch them too badly.
Anyway, for anyone who hasn’t read what little of the PoH main story I’ve written, I chose Chika to be the writer of the play Putting on Hairs. She’s the lyricist of Aqours, so her writing a musical felt like it might fit well enough.
As for You’s role? Well, we’ll see. I’ve been trying to avoid giving any one member of a ship possible casting decision power over a partner to avoid potential favoritism. Ruby working the ticket counter or snack stand will probably still get special treatment from Dia, but I figure everyone’s come to accept that by the time they’re all adults. But casting felt different to me. I do intend to allow You to indulge in her uniform obsessions a bit and help Kotori and Yohane in the costume department from time to time, but I’d still like to let her sing.
And on the topic of singing, I made You the siren and Chika a mermaid, instead of the other way around, because the idea of a siren working on a ship amused me. Honestly, that’s the reason behind a lot of the monster types I’ve assigned, like Kanan the kraken; Krakanan.
Finally, yay exposition. I did actually cut out a lot there, so hopefully what is left doesn’t disrupt the overall flow of the chapter, at least not too much.

Call of the Cryptid – Akkorokamui, Giant Octopus of Japan/Thailand
Said to lurk in Uchiura bay in Hokkaido, Japan, the giant Akkorokamui octopus is a blend of far-fetched legend and plausible creature. However, plausibility increases only from looking beyond legend, I’m afraid to say. Why? The Akkorokamui is said to have originally been Yaoshikepu, a spider goddess.
How was it supposedly transformed, according to the legend? The spider goddess was cast into the sea by the god-like Repun Kamui, for slaughtering too many villagers in Hokkaido. In the sea it magically became an octopus.
