Awhile back, I commissioned @umbranemone to draw the Saiyan god OCs I have (utilized in my fics overall, but especially in DBR and Moonlight)… and I am finally unveiling them!
Please feel free to use these OCs in your DB stories! All I ask for is credit!
Soli, Warrior Saiyan Goddess of the Sun
Purveyor of Saiyan “Light” Magic, Saiyan Bonds, Life, Love and Memories
Oldest of the pantheon in both U6 and U7 Universes
Twin sister to Tor (goddess of the moon and death)
The goddess who bestowed upon Saiyans the ability to become Super Saiyan
Patron Saiyan: Goku/Kakarot (and is fiercely protective of him)
As the goddess of Saiyan bonds, she has the power to create Saiyan r’bhon’oa (bonds) as well as break them. Fate can predetermine a mate, but she believes love is a choice and therefore will break bonds when called upon.
She’s very happy and bubbly, a literal living ray of sunshine and SUPER POWERFUL. Of her siblings, she is the one born with latent strength. There is no end to how powerful she can be. It is why a ring rests around her tail tip -- to remind herself to stay in control and not allow her emotions to get the best of her.
This is because Soli is an extremely empathetic and emotional goddess. Her powers are tied with her emotions. It is why her siblings are there to keep her in check, as well as to perform functions so it is not all on her as the most powerful goddess. Soli cares about all of her Saiyans and her siblings very much to the point where she can be blinded by her defensiveness. If anyone harms her family or her Saiyans, she can and will hold grudges for a long time. She has a MEAN streak. It takes a lot to win back her favor.
However, it takes a LOT to get on Soli's bad side. Like, a lot. This is because she has an insane amount of patience, to the point of almost harming herself as she will try to not lose her cool no matter what is thrown her way. She believes in giving mercy to all rather than mercilessness, to forgive rather than to punish.
Because of this penchant to forgive, Soli is not the most worship in U7 Planet Vegeta. She’s honored as she is Tor’s twin and older sister, as she is the reason why Saiyans in both U6 and U7 are able to turn Super Saiyan. In contrast, Soli is the MOST worshiped on Sadala in U6. Soli giving Saiyans the ability to turn Super Saiyan is the majority reason why she’s not buried or forgotten by U7 Saiyans. No one can crap on Soli, cuz that means you crap on Tor, her twin sister, and Tor is THE most worshiped goddess with U7 Saiyans.
Funny enough, it's her sister Tor that reminds Soli to give others second chances. If her twin didn't keep her in check, or the rest of the pantheon, there is a chance Soli could allow her emotions to win out and she would lose control.
Soli worshipers like Goku/Kakarot’s family (Bardock got roped into it thanks to Gine) are a big minority on Planet Vegeta. In U7, Soli worshipers usually live in the Southern Hemisphere of the planet, where in U6, they’re everywhere.
Worshipers of Soli perform bonding rituals (t'sha'to phe'hi and t'sha'to se'si'ki), something frowned upon in U7 as a liability due to the telekinetic bond and soul binding that occurs during these rituals (with the phe'hi being the most powerful and the most detrimental, as it is the one that performs soul binding). In U6, bonding is considered normal, even sacred. In both universes, finding a mah’kha (mate) is considered near impossible, both believing it’ll take many lifetimes to find them. Mating is relatively common in U6, but they’re considered mah’koti (chosen intended) and not mah’kha (destined mate). This is similar to U7. Because U6 is more in tune with Saiyan magic, there are more mah’kha’or in U6 than U7.

The Unified Theory of Ki Supplemental 1: Saiyans, Their Potential, and Their Forms
Disclaimer: As a quick reminder before anyone comes in with a snarky "Toriyama didn't think about it this much..."
Obviously. The point of this isn't to explain how Toriyama/Toyotaro/The Dragon Room think of Ki or mechanics they implemented into their story. It's to take a look at ideas that have been explored in the series and then work backwards to create a series of mechanics that effectively and satisfactorily covers the work. It is fanfiction in the form of technical writing, not to be taken as fact, but as a interesting at least, and a different way to look at the series for fun at best. Or as a way to spec out game mechanics if that's something anyone's looking to do.
Disclaimer 2: I am firmly on the side of Toriyama, Z, and Super that the Saiyan tail is a crutch that a Saiyan must overcome to reach their full potential, not the Saiyan's actual power. SSJ4 isn't in here because, like much of GT, it's a contradiction and fitting it into the rest of the framework is difficult. I might take a stab at it some other time, though.
Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego are also absent from this because not only are they not exclusively Saiyan forms (which applies to Kaioken and Ultimate, both of which I've included), but I don't think there's interesting interplay with what I'm proposing in terms of Saiyans' relationship with Ki. They're their own set of abilities that don't really care about the others.
With all of that out of the way
The Unified Theory of Ki - Supplemental 1: Potential, Saiyans, and Forms
Section 1: Let's Talk Potential
While this supplemental is meant to cover Saiyan biology as it pertains to ki more than anything, there's something we have to get out of the way first. Let's talk potential, as it's something that comes up frequently in the series. It's a difficult thing to understand, given how haphazardly "latent potential" is thrown around and the various things it can mean. I think we can discard out of hand the idea of it meaning "the most powerful can ever be." That interpretation never really made sense without separating the two rituals to unlock potential that we saw on screen into two different things. And while the different lengths of time those two rituals took could allow for that to be the case, later evidence from Super would contradict this. Besides that, I think that the difference would be better explained as efficacy. Guru and Old Supreme Kai both did the same thing, but Old Supreme Kai's delved deeper.
I would argue that what "potential" means in this case is tapping into power you would normally have to exert one's self to use temporarily and making it a part of your normal reservoir. Characters' power levels have been shown to fluctuate based on emotional state and exertion, though not to the extremes Gohan's rage is generally capable of producing. I would then argue that what both Guru and Old Kai are doing is making that exerted power a more natural state for the subject. This is why Gohan's boost is so wildly different from Krillin's, as it's making his rage boosted stats a part of his natural power, and why he doesn't get another proper rage boost until reaching SSJ2. Meanwhile Krillin is simply receiving the full power of what he can do when exerting himself. I would also posit that Guru's power up was permanent for the both of them, which is why even when his training lapsed, Krillin remained stronger than Tenshinhan. Still, it does not transcend Saiyan transformations for a very specific reason.
Section 2: Saiyan "Potential"
Alright, let's just get this out of the way. We all know that Saiyans are special, but in what way. Most of them are relatively powerful to start, if they hadn't had their potential (common use of the phrase) stunted by their tails and the use of the Oozaru form then they'd have been as insanely powerful as their U6 counterparts. How does this fit into the framework I'm creating?
My notion is this: Saiyans are naturally gifted, well beyond what the average Saiyan would lead you to believe. Their actual power functions a lot like cockroaches: what you see is only a fraction of the whole. They are natural born ki turbines meant to generate power well beyond what most species in the galaxy are capable of, including embers of god ki. The problem is that Saiyans, in their natural state, are inherently terrible at accessing and utilizing any of this power. And the culture of U7 only served to encourage this natural flaw. Everyone of the Saiyans' various forms and evolutionary elements is an expression of their bodies trying to reach their true power. But that power can only really be accessed through physical and emotional growth. Not shortcuts.
This differs from the potential referred to in the previous section, which is simply the maximum amount of power you can output at your current strength. It is not unlocked by potential unlocking rituals because it's a different thing entirely. Without the right training or the right forms, Saiyans are completely walled off from this power, unlike the power of "potential" that comes from simple exertion.
Section 3: Saiyan States, Power Ups, and Forms
Disclaimer 3: Refer to Disclaimer 1. The same applies here. If it's something that isn't shown in the manga or show and I don't say that it's based on a statement from Toriyama, assume that it is speculation in line with the overall goal of this project: making a unified working ruleset based on the content of the series for entertainment purposes. I will often, but not always, denote these parts with speculative phrasing.
Base Forms -
Base Saiyan with Tail - Base
The default state of all full-blood, and some hybrid, Saiyans and the weakest a Saiyan can be. The tail grants the Saiyan both a boosted power level in their natural state and access to the Oozaru transformation. The drawbacks are that, when grabbed, the insufficiently trained Saiyan will lose all strength and when removed the Saiyan will suffer a massive power loss. With sufficient growth, the Saiyan no longer needs the tail to have the same power it once provided.
Within this framework I would argue that the Saiyan tail is a taproot into their underlying power. A quick, cheap boost that all Saiyans are born with in compensation for how poor they are on the whole at accessing their walled off power reserves.
Oozaru - Psuedo-Super Saiyan
Oozaru is the Saiyan body's effort to access the Super Saiyan transformation. It's a 10x increase in power level, but I would argue it's an incredibly inefficient spread. Referencing my previous musings on how ki works and judging by the fight with Vegeta, I would argue that most of the Ki output of the Oozaru form is going towards compensating for the massive loss in speed and agility, leaving the Oozaru user roughly as fast as they were before, but only minimally stronger mostly coming from the increase baseline physical strength as opposed to more ki being pumped into increasing strength (though I would say not none). From this state a sufficiently powerful Saiyan could potentially reach true Super Saiyan 1 and may have been how the original Legendary Super Saiyan did so.
Base Saiyan without Tail - Evolved Base
The natural state of U6 Saiyans and U7 Saiyans after either training to integrate the power their tail granted (Goku with Kami in Dragon Ball) or reaching a certain plateau of power where the tail no longer provides a boost (Vegeta, possibly the half-Saiyans). According to Toriyama the bodies of Saiyans eventually determine that the tail is unnecessary so it stops growing back, or in the case of U6 Saiyans, growing at all. This is the state necessary for a Saiyan to properly begin harnessing their potential.
Kaio-Ken - Borrowed Power
This is not an evolution of Saiyan power, but I'm including it for the sake of differentiating it from the way the other boosts in power here work. The Kaio-Ken is a technique that increases power while putting a massive strain on the body. I would argue that, unlike what unlocking potential or Super Saiyan forms do, the Kaio-Ken is not drawing from latent or wasted power. It's forcing the user's body to create power it does not actually have. This is why it not only causes strain during use, but also outright damages the body.
Wrathful - Perfected Oozaru, Still Flawed
The Dragon Ball Super version of Broly used this form. Having achieved the tailless base state a Saiyan needs to reach their full potential, Broly was able to tap into the power of the Oozaru transformation without massively augmenting his body. He gained some amount of size, but not too much, and I would speculate that this made the impact much more potent. There was no massive loss of speed caused by increase of mass, allowing his power to be distributed more evenly. In conjunction with his already massive base power and his ability to grow stronger the longer a battle rages, this is the peak of what Oozaru can grant a Saiyan. The down side is that the form causes Broly immense pain while he also loses most of his faculties.
<===>
Super Saiyan -
Super Saiyan - Reaching the Potential
Through duress (Goku, Cabba) or observation and training (Goten, Trunks, Future Trunks <Manga>, Vegeta <Manga>, Caulifla) this is a Saiyan finally forcefully prying open the doors of their full Saiyan potential. This is just a taste of what they can achieve, as it's the unmastered, raw version of the real thing. It causes both physical and mental stress to maintain the state, making the user more vicious than they might otherwise be and making it difficult to remain in the state when injured or exhausted.
Super Saiyan Grade 2/Ultra Super Saiyan - A Little Further Beyond
This is pushing the form just a little further than it had been, holding the doors to the Saiyan reservoir of power a little wider. Compensates for an increased strain on the body by expanding muscle mass, but not so extremely as to noticeably affect speed. May actually be superior to raw Super Saiyan 1
---
Super Saiyan Grade 3/Ultra Super Saiyan 2 - Oozaru 3.0
Don't get me wrong, it's not using the power of the Oozaru transformation, but it's making the same kinds of mistakes that Oozaru does without the same increase in power to compensate. Grade 3 nudges the door just a little wider than Grade 2, but the increase in power requires an even greater increase in muscle mass so as not to rip the user apart. It's possible that, like Oozaru, a good amount of that increase is being used to maintain speed at similar levels to Grade 2, but it may also be distributing power evenly, and with the boost in power being so small, speed drops off even more sharply than strength grows.
Full Power Super Saiyan - The True Saiyan Form, Evolved Base 2
Full Power Super Saiyan achieves what every form before it has been trying to. It throws wide the doors to the Saiyan's secret reserve of power and incorporates it into their natural state. This is the actual base form of a Saiyan that they've been held back from. Unfortunately, this state can be lost, though simply reverting to base is not an indication of losing access to this form.
Super Saiyan 2 - Super Saiyan, but moreso.
Yes, I'm putting Super Saiyan 2 in the Super Saiyan section and not the Super Saiyan 2 section, but I'm doing it for a reason. As I see it, SSJ2 is not a different form from FPSSJ. Nor is it a "Grade 2" type evolution of the form. What SSJ2 is is the exerted state of SSJ1. A form that cannot be obtained without either mastering SSJ1 or witnessing someone who has. This brings back both the subject of there being a difference between "Potential" and "Saiyan Potential" and the idea of Guru's unlocking of potential not being able to cross beyond transformations. Once Gohan had achieved FPSSJ he once more had a wellspring of unused potential both from the boost everyone can get from exertion and his own massive rage boost. Likewise, Goku and Vegeta learned from this how to exert Super Saiyan into this state. Caulifla then learned it from Goku while Cabba experienced it the way Gohan did.
<===>
Legendary Super Saiyan -
Before getting into SSJ2's variants, let's take a detour to Legendary Super Saiyan for a moment. Now this is even messier than the rest of this subject because its canon versions, and all the offshoots that come from it, were obviously first and foremost meant to be references and nods to the original Broly more than they were given any thought with regards to how they fit into the universe overall. So while all of this is just fanwank for fun, I do try to ground it in elements seen or said in the media or by the creator in interviews. This part, however? This is gonna be almost entirely post-hoc overthought bullshit. But, like I said, this is about making these concepts fit into a functional framework. Also, the names for Broly, Broly, and Kale's forms are all over the place all the time, but since all three of them are referred to as Legendary Super Saiyan at one point or another I'm just going with that
Legendary Super Saiyan - Ignoring the Flaws of Super Saiyan Grade 2
Broly and Kale really are built different. From the blank eyes to the green aura, this is undeniably not the same as Super Saiyan. At least, not exactly the same. I would argue that, unlike most Saiyans, these two possess a secondary well of power. Or, rather, a different primary one. It's not inherently more powerful than the regular Super Saiyan power. In fact, for both of them, they become more powerful once they learn to use the golden glow instead of the green one, but what it is is bottomless. This, more than anything, is what differentiates it from other Super Saiyan forms. Because of this, they have enough energy to make all of the mistakes of Super Saiyan Grade 2 but with none of the drawbacks as the bottomless ki can compensate. And in Broly's case, he continues to grow stronger the longer he fights, making the drawback even more irrelevant. The drawback they do suffer, however, is a total loss of control.
Legendary Super Saiyans' Super Saiyan - Super Saiyan Buff
Unique in canon to Kale but also used by Movie Broly, this is Super Saiyan 1 for a Legendary Super Saiyan. It differs from regular Super Saiyan in that it noticeably increases the size and muscle mass of the user, but to a less extreme degree. The user has greater control over themselves than in the Legendary Super Saiyan and Kale, at least, appeared to become stronger by using this form than she had been in Legendary Super Saiyan. I speculate this form mainlines the Super Saiyan reservoir of power while keeping the Legendary Super Saiyan boundless ki stream open just a crack.
Full Power Legendary Super Saiyan - A Different Flavor of Full Power
Where FPSSJ is throwing wide the doors of Super Saiyan and making that power a natural part of your own, FPLSSJ seems to be a case of the power flowing from the LSSJ pool overflowing their containment. Power grows and the body massively increases in size even more, likely to reduce the strain of holding onto that much power.
True Legendary Super Saiyan - Mastering the Flow
Kale in the anime Tournament of Power and Broly in the Super manga both achieve this state of their Legendary forms. Their eyes return to normal, their bulk reduces (though both remain bigger than their other forms) and their hair and aura remain green. This would, in my estimate, be the inverse of Kale's Super Saiyan form, mostly using the power from LSSJ while incorporating the power of SSJ into it.
<===>
Super Saiyan 2 -
Like I said before, while Super Saiyan 2 has a section, Super Saiyan 2 is not in it. you'll understand why soon.
Super Saiyan 3 - Failed Evolution
It is my belief that Super Saiyan 3 isn't meant to be a form in-and-of itself. More importantly, I don't like the idea that Goku attempted to make a Super Saiyan 2 Grade 2 either. Instead, I posit that Super Saiyan 3 was Goku's effort to master Super Saiyan 2 the same way he did Super Saiyan 1. In other words, it was an attempt at Full Power Super Saiyan 2 that failed. Goku, however, didn't quite grasp that is didn't work, as his being dead prevented him from feeling energy draining strain that the form put on his body. Because of the nature of Super Saiyan 2, that being an exerted version of SSJ1, I suspect there's no natural means of reaching a Full Power equivalent. Gotenks, being a child and a show off, didn't even bother to understand anything about the form, merely copying what Goten and Trunks had witnessed Goku doing.
Super Saiyan Rage - Grade 2 Perfected
Super Saiyan Rage's design and the transformation sequence provide an opportunity for an interesting interpretation. I see it as a work around for Super Saiyan Grade 2's drawbacks while maintaining its benefits applied to Super Saiyan 2. Instead of massively increasing his body size, Trunks externalizes the physical changes into an aura kept tight around himself, effectively still being used as a part of his offense, but no longer weighing him down. A very specific example of ki control vastly increasing power, even though he's not fully controlling all of the ki leaking from him.
Ultimate - A Fortunate Workaround
Gohan's Ultimate form is, in effect, Guru's unlock applied to SSJ2 resulting in that Full power Super Saiyan 2 that Goku was trying for with Super Saiyan 3. Elder Kai's ritual having the additional bonus that Guru's didn't (and didn't need since Gohan was already in peak fighting condition) of polishing off all of Gohan's rust before giving him access to all of his potential power with none of the strain or stress on his body. Of course, once the rust came back he lost the ability to maintain that state effortlessly, but it's still there.
<===>
God Ki -
Super Saiyan God - A Touch of the Divine
Earlier I had mentioned that Saiyans also likely generate a bit of God Ki. This is why I think so. Goku's exposure to the ki of a group of other Super Saiyans allowed him to reach this state, a state wherein he begins to use God Ki instead of just normal Ki. Vegeta also reaches this state after Goku achieved it. I suspect the ritual is only necessary insofar as getting the feel for it without having used it. Vegeta was able to gauge how it was done due to his experience as a fighter and his history with Goku.
Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue - Starting Back at 1
This one isn't too complicated. Now that the Saiyan in question can perceive and wield God Ki, they suddenly have access to a wellspring of that as well. Super Saiyan Blue is opening the door to that in the same way SSJ1 did for their potential as a Saiyan.
Super Saiyan Royal Blue/Blue Evolved/Bluer - Full Power Upgrade
This form shares similarities with both Grade 2 and Full Power Super Saiyan, though clearly more like Grade 2 in appearance. However, I'd argue, given the size of the power increase, it's actually more along the lines of Full Power in terms of results. There seems to be little strain, though the muscle mass does have a noticeable increase (not to Grade 2's extreme, however). The hair changes shades, similar to Full Power, while the aura is different depending on whether it's the manga or anime. Still, given his history, I'd like to think Vegeta learned from his mistakes and chose to develop his new form more along the lines he was shown before.

One of my favorite moments in the ToP, maybe all of DBS, is when Piccolo is overwhelmed by the U6 Namekians, but Nail and Kami appear in his mind to point out Gohan, who protected him.
It's such a good moment that reflectshow far the two have come and how close they are, and really comes around at the end of the battle where a Son gave Piccolo enough time to properly charge the Special Beam Cannon after failing the first time, while also showing just how much Gohan has grown since that first battle with Nappa to the point he, Piccolos student is now helping the teacher WHILE ALSO reminding Piccolo that he can still learn and grow no matter what happens(which is a kick off for his next arc imo since he spent most of Super pretty stagnant) WHILE ALSO reminding him(and the audience) of his heritage and what he is
Combined with Gokus blatant defiance of the Love that universe 2 was giving him and the twins(also, 17 and 18 working together with the one they were programmed to kill? Very nice) and that double Kamehameha(again, another mirror but this time with Goku and Gohan, they might not be together like before but they can still get shit done side by side) that took out to teams at once was so good. It was probably the best feat that didn't involve UI or Jiren

Just putting the hypothetical out there, but I think, out of the U6 Saiyan pack, the one that'd be the best fit to go Majin would be Cabba
We know that Caulifla is the one with the hot head who'd have the power cravings, but Cabba having this opportunity presents more of shock, having the most rational and well-composed suddenly snap like a twig from the emotional burden he carries on his back. Plus, after all, Cabba is intended as Vegeta's Universe 6 parallel in a sense, just as Caulifla is to Goku and Kale is to Broly/Gohan.
The manipulation that forces him to succumb? Being convinced that this power will be key to achieving justice. Of course there's the consequence of absolute power corrupting absolutely.
In this hypothetical, when Frost comes to trial for the truth he reveals during the Tournament, the truth is somehow retwisted in his favor, Cabba is prevented from stepping forth as the key witness to his confession, and the lizard manages to get away scot-free. Cabba feels absolutely betrayed, infuriated that his voice has no power against the lizard who manipulated him for so long. He wants to be heard, be taken seriously.... so he is given a chance to put justice into his own hands, to take down Frost himself. The corruption of power ultimately twists Cabba into a sort of Light Yagami type.
But you may ask, where would the Majin powerup come from? Who's the equivalent Babidi to pull strings in this universe? Well, he's been lying in plain sight as the supposed weak link of the Tournament of Power...
...Dr. Rota.
Cabba ends up crossing paths with the witch doctor, a peddler of spell cards and talismans. When the Saiyan vents out his tale, it intrigues the boar, telling him to follow him to the back. Rota believes he has quite the special spell for such a case as Cabba's.

Dragon Ball Super 037
Tumblr media
Vegeta vs. (yawn) Cabba.
Tumblr media
So this is the one where Vegeta teaches Cabba to turn Super Saiyan.  There are some good points to this episode, but for my money, it fails to overcome its most critical flaw.  This is supposed to be a tournament match, but it ends up becoming a training session.  Vegeta even points this out himself when Cabba asks for the lesson.  He goes ahead and teaches him anyway, though, which I can understand, because he already knows he can’t get a decent fight out of Cabba, so he may as well use the time constructively.
But as the viewer, I feel ripped off.  The thing is, this scenario could totally work if it were part of a card full of banger matches.  But let’s look at what we’ve seen so far.
Match 1: Goku vs. Botamo.  Goku wins when he drags Botamo to the edge and judo-throws him out of the ring.
Match 2: Goku vs. Frost. A complete mismatch.  Frost cheats to win, the decision is later reversed.
Match 3: Piccolo vs. Frost. A complete mismatch.  Frost cheats to win, the decision is later reversed.
Match 4: Piccolo vs. Frost.  A rematch after Vegeta requests Frost be reinstated.  Vegeta demands that Piccolo forfeit so he can fight Frost himself.  Piccolo agrees.
Match 5: Vegeta vs. Frost.  A complete mismatch.  Vegeta knocks Frost out of the ring with one blow.
Match 6: Vegeta vs. Auta Magetta.  A shitshow.  Vegeta float around for ten minutes dodging lava until he finally remembers he can just solve all his problems with ki blasts.  Also, insults wear down Magetta’s resolve so this was actually another mismatch.
Match 7: Vegeta vs. Cabba.   Another complete mismatch.
Tell me, dear reader, which of these is your favorite?  Probably Vegeta vs. Magetta, just because it wasn’t a one-sided rout.  And yeah, it’s the best fight of this saga so far, but it still isn’t very good.  It’s what Jim Ross would call “bowling shoe ugly.”  But at least Magetta made his opponent work for it, which is more than I can say for his teammates or Piccolo.
Now, there’s still three more matches to go after this, and we do see an uptick in quality, but there’s also another mismatch in the bunch.  To put it simply: the Destroyer Invitational Tournament is a one-match show.  That sucks ass, because it’s a tournament!   There are supposed to be lots of good matches!  Maybe all of them should be good!  I mean, why is that not something to aspire to?
Tumblr media
All right, so let’s talk about the good aspects of this episode.  The main thing Cabba brings to the table is Saiyan lore, and I’m always down for that.  This arc did help me iron out some details about the Saiyan history I wrote into Luffa.  For example, even though the U6 Saiyans are very different from the U7 Saiyans, and they seem to have very divergent histories, Cabba still uses the same fighting stance Vegeta used when he first fought Goku on Earth.  And Cabba uses the Gallick Gun, which indicates that these aren’t just things Vegeta invented himself, or even something he picked up from his royal family.  No, if Cabba has the same knowledge, then that means Vegeta’s style is based on something far, far more ancient.  And this scene led me to conclude that Luffa should know the Gallick Gun and Vegeta’s DBZ Episode 30 stance as well.  If they date back to ancient Sadala, then that knowledge would be commonplace among Saiyans, even a thousand years ago.
Tumblr media
Recently, I was thinking about the history of the Universe 6 Saiyans, and it occurred to me that it kind of makes sense that Cabba has never heard of the Super Saiyan form.  According to the Battle of Gods movie, the Super Saiyan God ritual was used to empower one righteous Saiyan so he could wipe out the wicked Saiyans of his era.  He failed when the form wore off.  Later, Akira Toriyama declared that this ancient Saiyan hero was named Yamoshi, and he was the first Super Saiyan, as well as the pioneer of the Super Saiyan God form.  The Super Saiyans who followed Yamoshi would arise every thousand years, and supposedly their transformation was awakened by his vengeful spirit.  I think that’s how it was supposed to go.
So what does that have to do with Cabba?  Well, in his universe, the Saiyans are all good guys.  They don’t have tails anymore, and they don’t terrorize planets.  Instead, they hire themselves out to defend weaker planets from powerful aggressors (something else I cribbed for Luffa.)  Cabba even said that the Saiyans in Universe 6 still live on their original homeworld, Sadala.
In that case, the conflict Yamoshi fought in Universe 7 must have turned out very differently in Universe 6.  Maybe Yamoshi’s counterpart won in that world.  He wiped out all the wicked Saiyans, and retired, never using the Super Saiyan God ritual again.   Or mabye Yamoshi’s counterpart never had to fight at all.  The Saiyans of his era were cool guys, so he never needed to become a Super Saiyan God in the first place.  Either way, there was no “vengeful spirit” to trigger the rise of Super Saiyans in Universe 6.  And without that, there was no Super Saiyan Legend.  Which means Cabba would never know about the Super Saiyan form until he saw Goku and Vegeta in this tournament.
Tumblr media
This kind of ties into something else this episode helped me work out for Luffa.  A big question about the Super Saiyan Legend is why none of the ancient Super Saiyans taught anyone else how to do it.  Goku taught Gohan, after all, and Trunks and Goten were so gifted that they learned it on their own.  So why was there only one Super Saiyan every thousand years?  Sure, some of them might not be inclined to share their secret, but some of them must have craved a worthy opponent.
This episode gives us an idea of the answer to that.  Cabba begs Vegeta to teach him the transformation, and Vegeta is disgusted that he would even ask such a thing from an opponent, during a fight.  So he turns Super Saiyan and whoops Cabba’s ass for a while.  Cabba tries to surrender, but Vegeta refuses to let him.  He threatens to kill Cabba, rules or no rules.  Also, he threatens to destroy Planet Sadala, and kill Cabba’s entire family.
Tumblr media
And that does the trick.  Cabba goes wild and seems to turn the tables on Vegeta for a bit...
Tumblr media
But it soon becomes clear that Vegeta was just letting Cabba run loose for a while to get him acclimated to the form.  Then he tells Cabba to transform again, and he seems to have the form under control.
The point of all of this is that it’s not exactly an easy thing to teach.  Vegeta had to resort to physical attacks and threats against Cabba’s loved ones to push him over the edge.  A Super Saiyan altruistic enough to share their knowledge with others might not be so eager to engage in that kind of cruelty.  In DBZ, Goku got Gohan to Super Saiyan, but he had to shoot at him with a Kamehameha to do it, and Goku was kind of reluctant to push it that far.
Also, imagine using this teaching approach on a Saiyan like Turles, who doesn’t care about anyone but himself.  What loved ones can you threaten?  Which world can you destroy?  It wouldn’t awaken anything in him because he doesn’t care.  The irony is that the U6 Saiyans are a lot easier to train in this sort of thing, but they have no concept of the Super Saiyan to aim for.  Meanwhile, the U7 Saiyans had the legend but generally lacked the compassion to understand how to get to it.  And that’s why there was only one every thousand years.
Of course, later on, Cabba will teach Caulifla how to turn into a Super Saiyan, and that’s where the whole “tingly back” thing got started.  But that’s the exception that proves the rule.   Cabba was willing to teach the form and Caulifla was eager to learn, but he still had a hard time explaining it to her, and he lacked Vegeta’s talent for inspiring righteous fury.  Caulifla understood how to get to the bottom of the matter, but she’s a rare talent.  Most Saiyans wouldn’t ask such perceptive questions.
Tumblr media
Anyway, back to the fight.  Vegeta turns Super Saiyan Blue to show Cabba where the road leads next.  Then he one-shots him and wins the match.
Tumblr media
Cabba thanks Vegeta for his instruction, and tells him that he’s a lot like the Saiyan King on Planet Sadala.
Tumblr media
Goku is surprised that Vegeta would do all this for an opponent, and Piccolo suggests it’s because Vegeta wanted to spend some quality time with another Saiyan.  Goku points out that he’s a Saiyan, and Piccolo’s like, yeah, but he hates you, Goku.
I mean, yeah, Goku’s Different, no doubt about that.  Vegeta can bond with Cabba in a way that he can’t with Goku.  But I think Piccolo’s got it wrong.  Vegeta has a similar desire to support Goku, I think.  I mean, they hang out a lot.  Goku doesn’t need much mentoring, and his Earthling traits probably irritate Vegeta, but who else has he got?   He’s the Prince of All Saiyans, and that includes the big orange goofballs like Goku.
Tumblr media
So the next match is Vegeta vs. Hit, and as they prepare to face off, Vados informs Champa that she had to promise him the Hexahedron to get him to join the team.  Champa is upset to hear about this, because the Hexahedron is a vehicle of gods, capable of travel between universes.  But he had told Vados to get Hit on the team by any means necessary, so here we are.

📖 One for each of the three, please!
📖
|| le gasp! sure thing!
Tumblr media
champa - not to get sappy but anything with a vados. banter, serious, silly, anything. they're my otp and i would never insist on shipping, but it would be nice to have a vados to interact with someday that actually stays around. i do get she's a challenge to write, though!
Tumblr media
vados - her being demoted or losing her angelic abilites. or her training hit! i've always considered hit to be champa's #1 candidate.
Tumblr media
pomme - meeting her uncle beerus. in her verse, champa is very big on not talking to or bringing up beerus (think encanto's we don't talk about bruno but WORSE because people get dusted). her sneaking out and making her way to find him. but she can't bring herself to tell him who she is out of fear of all the stories her "father" has put in her head. plus, uncle whis? the best uncle. she would also be starstruck by hit and how cool he is!
bonus:
heles - heles visiting u7 anyone? or u6?? she's curious what all the fuss is about! hit and goku are very gorgeous men... what other specimens would there be to see?

Parents, I know you all have good intentions. We get it, your son or daughter is the next superstar athlete. But overstepping in your child's sports activities is harmful to not only their development in the game but also may severely impact the love that they have for the sport itself. To many times I have found myself having to coach the parents on the sidelines rather than coaching my players on the field.
Tumblr media
“Every parent signs kids up for sports or activities with good intentions. [But] sometimes, there can be a line that’s crossed, where suddenly the parent becomes more involved or invested in the outcome, versus the goal of why they signed up their kids in the sport in the first place” (New York Post).
For 10 years I have coached soccer at the:
-Junior College Level
-High School Level
-Youth Level (U6-U13)
You may be surprised to learn that even the parents of my college athletes can have a negative impact on their child's growth and development. Although these parents want the best for their kids and have good intentions, without realizing it they are hindering the possibility for growth. Here are the 5 most common problems that I have seen parents be guilty of :
1: Putting too much emphasis on winning
Parents often get caught up in the desire for their child's team to win at all costs. This puts immense pressure on young athletes and takes away from the joy of playing the game. Focus on the long term development process rather than immediate results.
2: Over involvement during games
Parents sometimes become overly involved during games, shouting instructions or criticism from the sidelines. This can distract both the child and the coach, hindering the player's ability to focus and enjoy the experience.
3: Unrealistic expectations
Setting unrealistic expectations for your child's performance can lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety. Remember that each child progresses at their own pace and that the main goal should be personal growth and enjoyment.
4: Lack of communication with the coach
Some parents fail to establish open lines of communication with the coach. This can lead to misunderstandings and missed opportunities for constructive feedback and guidance.
5: Neglecting the importance of balance
Overcommitting children to multiple sports or excessive training sessions can result in burnout and physical or emotional exhaustion. It's crucial to allow time for rest, recovery, and pursuing other interests.
If you are a parent of an athlete and have found yourself guilty of any of these things, do not worry. We all want the best for our kids and if you can change your perspective and attitude you can make a positive impact on your child's development. Here are 5 things you can do to help keep your child invested and enjoying the sport:
Tip 1: Encourage effort and personal growth
Emphasize the value of hard work, dedication, and personal improvement rather than solely focusing on winning or losing. Celebrate your child's progress and achievements, regardless of the outcome.
Tip 2: Be a positive sideline presence
Cheer for your child and their teammates while maintaining a positive and encouraging attitude. Leave the coaching to the coach and refrain from excessive instructions or criticism.
Tip 3: Set realistic expectations
Understand that each child develops at their own pace and has unique strengths and weaknesses. Encourage them to enjoy the process, learn from their experiences, and set goals that are realistic and attainable.
Tip 4: Foster open communication with the coach
Establish a healthy line of communication with the coach. This allows you to understand their coaching philosophy, receive updates on your child's progress, and address any concerns or questions you may have.
Tip 5: Promote balance and well-being
Encourage your child to participate in a variety of activities and prioritize their overall well-being. Help them find a healthy balance between sports, academics, rest, and other hobbies, fostering their long-term enjoyment and development.
Remember, this is all about the KIDS. We had our chance when we were younger to play and enjoy the game, and now we have a great responsibility to pass on the love and joy that we once had on to our children and let them thrive! Good luck, and enjoy the journey.

Linapol, Warrior Saiyan God/dess of the Spirit
Purveyor of Saiyan Spirit, forces of nature (wind, water, sky, earth, fire), primordial chaos, animals and plants
Youngest sibling of the entire pantheon
Goes by they/them/she/her, all pronouns
Name is a play on the word "pollination"
Changes form and shape constantly as well as gender and sex (the picture depicts their two most used forms)
The god who bestowed upon Saiyans their wild, mercurial, chaotic nature (aka their free spirit)
Patron Saiyans: Raditz and Goten
Soli is the sun and life, the first born when the universe began. Tor is the moon and death, what came after life started. Synphot is the consciousness of all Saiyans, what they gained when they first stepped on land. Dees is their strength, their body, their ideal selves.
Linapol is the wildcard.
They are the chaos and unbridled, undying spirit that lives in all Saiyans. Yes, Dees is the god who bestowed upon Saiyans the ability to adapt to any physically taxing situations (aka the “zenkai boosts”) but Linapol is the spirit itself to NOT give up. They are the voice in Saiyans hearts telling them to push forward, to keep fighting, to dig deep and reach for the impossible. To explore, to seek adventure, to fight, to love, to live. Always laughing in the face of insurmountable odds. It is the most intrinsic, innate ability that all Saiyans possess. It is also why Saiyans in both U6 and U7 believe that in every Saiyan--no matter who you are or where you come from--there is a piece of Linapol deep down, inside every Saiyan heart.
From Linapol, both U6 and U7 Saiyans have the innate ability to connect with animals and plants on any planet in the universe, and the ability to thrive in chaotic situations no matter what. U6 Saiyans use more of the former ability (animal/plant connection), while U7 Saiyans use more of the latter ability (thrive in chaos). In both universes, Linapol isn't particularly worshiped like their other siblings. Instead, Linapol is kind of a "latent" god/goddess. Again, it is because every Saiyan believes that Linapol exists in them all.
Because Linapol changes forms regularly, they are seen in U6 and U7 as the representation of how gender and sex is fluid in their respective societies. Because of this, U6 and U7 Saiyans are not hung up about sex and gender. Many non-binary Saiyans outright worship Linapol, despite there not being specific places/temples to go to on either planet. (As if Linapol cares, ha.)
Linapol as a god/dess embraces change, thrives in uncertainty, loves to buck trends and be themselves, unencumbered. She is quick witted, sharp, strong-willed, funny and spontaneous. The impulsivity can get Linapol in some trouble, another thing that annoys their siblings. Linapol is also quite disorganized and messy, but he doesn't care.
It is because of Linapol's mercurial, chaotic nature that he's kind of... not the most welcomed of the siblings. She tends to get on Synphot's nerves. Dees tolerates her at best. Soli acts like a stern mother with him. The one Linapol gets along with best is Tor because Tor admires Linapol's ability to just be THEMSELVES and no one else. Plus, Tor adores annoying her little siblings and her twin sister, and who else to spice up the boring life of being a Saiyan god than a god/dess who is literal chaos unbridled?
Linapol chose Raditz and Goten in U7 as their patron Saiyans as she felt that they represented the best of the free-wild chaotic Saiyan spirit that lives inside all Saiyans. Especially Raditz! She finds the brother of Soli's chosen (Goku) quite hilarious and charming. Occasionally she will show up in either of her favorite forms depicted above to Raditz, just to tease and mess with him.

"literal award winning mac and cheese"? As in the recipe won an award and got published or you entered a competition with it and won yourself? What's the story here?
Also someone please check on how Wien's doing.
Wien ohne Roland, das ist nicht Wien 😔✊
The funny thing is that whenever I leave, something crazy happens. Even if it's just for a few days. When I was gone for a couple weeks scattered over the summer, the U6 derailed and the Taylor Swift thing happened.
And yes! I entered it into a small competition several years ago and swept. It was cute and fun. It's probably the best thing I make that isn't a baked good. Unfortunately there's no real recipe to go by as I just do it by muscle memory at this point

Yoji (Baby Vegeta) from universe 6
Wrote a drable below
There are several fantastic ways of implementing the Tuffle parasite into super, the most interesting to me being that the parasite originates from universe 6 rather than 7. Now this could down several ways, and one day I might explore them in detail, but let’s focus on the most likely one- he’s just as much of a spiteful bastard in U6 as he was in U7, but with more Sayians around and more eyes watching in general he has to be more careful about what he does. Now why would he be from U6 and not U7? I like complicated stories and to put it simply- what if a while before the U6 Sayians joined the space age they were competing with Tuffles? And things got well out of hand, but since the victors tell the history, the “heroic” Syaians defeated the evil Tuffles, and overtime Sayians actual became goodies because of their belief in their history as heroes? Literally no one would know the truth except Yoji.
I would not be surprised if- working with the characters as cannon from the anime- he would make use of Frost, manipulating him and inevitably taking over his body (Sorry Icejinlover) and since I love the idea his presence can cause physical changes in the host (ala the white hair and red line on Vegeta), he would definitely make Frost look a bit less like his usual self to try getting around Frost’s wanted status. Also, given that Yoji can definitely peek into someone’s mind he would realize there are Sayians in different universes and would quickly determine his best bet is to bide his time in U6, but this could also be the start of the villain redemption arc (for both? Probably)
He may or may not be on the fence from the start given that he knows how kind Cabba is, and last I was aware Calfia and Kale were doing the whole Robin Hood thing? Why yes I do refuse to look that up so I’m running with that. Yoji would actually see that this generation of Sayians are goodies, but he’s still dependant on his programming (Like our man Cell) so he’s not exactly going to stray from it too easily. Independence and freewill is terrifying to Babe.
There’d be some nasty skirmishes but not quite enough to make Champa do anything about it, because how else would the U7 team be made to have adventures and explore the other universe? Seriously, I really loved GT and what little I watched of the OG dragon ball, the exploration was awesome.
So via a combination of Yoji killing U6 Sayians and not even the likes of Hit being able to stop the sneaky bugger Goku and Vegeta get pulled in to handle this. Except because of power creep, Yoji’s a major pain in the ass to try and get rid off- Still he gets knocked out of Frost which scares the hell outa him, but being much stronger now he catches several people off guard when doing his mind control stuff. And for dramatics sake we don’t see him when he hitches a ride on literally anyone to get into U7.
He’d probably watch how Goku and Vegeta are goodies with their families and start struggling to justify his actions. Maybe he even briefly gets to talk with Piccolo? Maaaaaybe? Also the Gammas and Hido. (I just love the Gammas so much, fite me)
still just for funsies He might try to grab Broly and that goes about as poorly as one could expect and at that point he starts having the break down.
Either he regains his composure and stays a villain (completely valid and what would most likely happen to him at this point in the timeline) or after everything he’s witnessed now that he’s no longer in isolation he attempts to make amends for the bullshit he’s pulled. And oddly enough Vegeta’s probably the person he can relate to the most, one some level, and actual kinda helps him. (I like Vegeta’s journey of maturing and slowly moving past his trauma in super… Yes I think it’s mostly in super. He relaxes by the end of Z, but Whis and Beerus’s constant presence I feel is helping him to find inner peace)
Now… Because I love my boy so much, and just because this is how I feel- He’d be kicked out of U6 after apologizing and he’d just be absorbed into the U7 fold given how many badies have turned into goodies… and would occasionally hitch rides to Beerus’s planet for the joy that is taking instruction from Whis for the same kinda inner peace training.
