U2 surprises commuters on Berlin's subway line with an impromptu set

U2 stars Bono and The Edge played a surprise set for commuters who boarded a subway line in Berlin, Germany Wednesday. 

The subway line is also coincidentally called U2 subway. 

The duo played an impromptu set for 120 lucky competition winners -- who applied for tickets for the underground train on the subway through a local radio station Radioeins. 

The winners had boarded an underground train at Deutsche Oper to perform acoustically for 15 minutes.The set included "One" and new track "Get Out of Your Own Way" from their latest record, "Songs of Experience".

Nach den ersten beiden Konzerten in Irland stellen sich eigentlich nur zwei Fragen für die noch folgenden.

Die erste ist, wann "Red flag day" wieder in die Setlist rutscht. Wir erinnern uns: Die Tour dient ja eigentlich als Werbung für das aktuelle Album. Da würde es ja, laienhaft gesprochen, auf der Hand liegen, möglichst viele Lieder von diesem Album auch zu spielen und diese nicht durch fast schon amoklaufverursachende Langweilnummern wie "All because of you" zu ersetzen. Zudem war im Sommer mal die Rede davon, dass "Red flag day" noch ausgekoppelt werden soll. Warum spielen sie es dann nicht?

Die zweite und sicherlich spannendere Frage ist, ob sie uns tatsächlich zum Ende der Tour das in den letzten Wochen wohl ausgiebig geprobt "Dirty day" um die Ohren blasen. Nach 25 Jahren Bühnenabstinenz hätte das Lied sicher noch mal eine Chance verdient! Unwahrscheinlich, dass sie sich das nur für die Videoaufnahmen in Berlin aufsparen, ohne es vorher mal vor Publikum geprobt zu haben. Nun, zwei Möglichkeiten haben sie ja noch; morgen und am Samstag in ihrer Heimatstadt.
