There he is, minding his own business, cutting up some melon for a midmorning snack. The sun is shining, the trees are rustling in the soft breeze, it's a wonderful day even.

And yet.

What's that saying? That if a toddler's silent, you should worry? It was something along those lines. Though in this instance, it was a grown-ass man being too quiet for his own good, Zelos Wilder.

Lloyd hears the rustling of leaves change with the gathering and release of wind mana. But he doesn't sense any enemies nearby, nor does he hear the telltale clang of blades, so that could only mean his companion was up to something. And that something required silence.

So he stops, stills himself for once to listen.

And then he hears it. A certain buzzing noise getting ever so louder, and angrier the closer it comes.

Zelos (Middle Name) Wilder, you dare throw a beehive at him? The savior of your lunch? Your buddy?

" Guardian! "

He braces himself for the following thud of said beehive slamming against the cage of mana around him (and their food). Of course, with the impact, the hive itself cracks open, and from its entrails a swarm of enraged bees scream around him. He concentrates on extending the arte, though a small portion of mana condenses in his open palm. It's not enough to light a flame, like what Zelos or Genis can do, but it's enough that he's able to take a leftover onion and cause the skin to smoke.

Bees don't like smoke, didn't you know?

And something about Sylvaranti onions is that, compared to their Tethe'allan siblings, they smoke a lot when set aflame.

The burning vegetable skins make the air pungent, and he sets the onion into a spare bowl he'd brought out for lunch prep. The length of the arte tires him out just slightly; Guardian is never supposed to be held for longer than a few seconds, and he's held it for half a minute now. But the smoke works to a degree, and as the seconds turn into minutes, the bees die down enough to fly away from him. Guardian drops finally.

Oh he's gonna strangle Zelos.

" Zelos! "

He calls out to his wayward companion, fake smile plastered on his face in the direction the hive came from. He knows Zelos can hear him.

" I hope you like squid, because we're having seafood stew for lunch! "

And you're on squid duty.

zelo is SO talented I'm so so sad hes SO underrated ... I'm so proud of him for making his own music and doing his own thing now and hes only 23 !!! But imagine having debuted, toured the WORLD a shitton of times, literally played an integral part to kpop history with your group and reach the top of the industry, then go through all the shit that BAP went thru and then lose a solid chunk of your popularity by the time you're 20. Lloyd’s voice is raspy, warped around something in his airway. He holds up a hand; he straightens up. With a slow, deep inhale, he makes a good show of a single large breath, but it’s thin and stoppered, as if there’s a cork in that red-lipped bottleneck of his and he can’t manage to pry it free.

“S’oka--”

Then he coughs.

And it’s a hacking thing.

When Zelos had first raised an eyebrow at the creepy-ass lingering spirit of a four-armed swordsman, Lloyd had shrugged, grinned, and said, “Well, we’ve fought him before in an underground mine shaft. And now we have you! So no biggie! This’ll be a sinch. We’ll be out of here and at the Temple of Earth in no time.” 

Zelos watches as Lloyd’s back crunches against the wide trunk of a tree and he wonders if any part of a “sinch” was supposed to be reassuring when their asses are being handed to them.

“This is your definition of easy?!” Zelos shouts across the clearing, half to make sure Lloyd is okay enough to respond and half to actually get a legitimate answer.

Lloyd stumbles forward, nearly tripping over the thick, sprawling roots. “Uh…in my defense, this wasn’t…” A strangely blank look passes over Lloyd’s face: pale and wane, before his nose scrunches like he tastes something bad. “This is harder than I remember.”

“Grand Cross!”

The forest floor lights up.

Curling white encircles the skeletal swordsman. Swords-thing? Swords-bones? Zelos isn’t sure. He’s never seen anything like it before. Not that he needs proof besides looking at the thing to know it, but when it screams in pain, it definitely isn’t human. When it crashes to the ground, sprawling out on its vertebrae, the entire Gaoracchia Forest shakes.

Once it’s standing, Genis sweeps in with an Air Thrust.

Raine shouts to Lloyd, “Lloyd! Now!”

Zelos gets a funny feeling in his gut--he’s not sure why--as he watches Lloyd nod and break into a jogging run towards the Sword Dancer. Raine charges a Photon and launches it time with Lloyd’s spinning Tempest.

As it fades, the skeleton is happy at its defeat.

Genis and Raine and Lloyd get caught up in a conversation about the spirit and what it’s doing and how they should get rid of it, considering that before it disappeared, the spirit had promised a “next time.” 

Lloyd, as always, vows that he’ll get stronger which Zelos finds ironic considering he looks like he’s one wrong wind away from falling over. The fight must’ve done a bigger number than he thought. Lloyd’s voice comes out wobbly, like there’s a frog in his throat.

When Zelos meets eyes with Colette, he knows he’s not imagining things.

“We should keep moving,” Sheena says. Her gaze darts around the shadows of the thick underbrush. The long line of her shoulders is rigid. “This isn’t a safe place to rest.” 

“Right.” Lloyd nods. He clears his throat. 

He takes one step before the red of his shirt stretching across his shoulder blades pinches with a flinch, or maybe it’s a jerk. It’s not so much a sound as the motion that’s alarming.

Genis and Colette are at his side in an instant.

“Lloyd, you okay?” Genis’ eyes are wide, head tilted in that funny way he does when he’s trying to get a good look at his best friend’s face.

Colette puts a hand on his arm. Then, she thinks better of it and reaches into her bag. “Here--”

“--h-hang on.”

His other hand flutters to his knee and it would seem odd, it would seem strange, but Zelos’ body seems to recognize what will happen to Lloyd’s and why before his mind does. There’s a thin, shaking inhale from a torso that decidedly does not move and Lloyd drops. 

Zelos shoots forward. 

He manages to loop his arms under Lloyd’s and bring him back against his chest as his boots kick forward against dead leaves and twigs.

“It’s okay,” Zelos breathes, quiet enough for only Lloyd’s ears to hear as he coughs again. And again. And again. “Hey. Breathe. I’ve got you, idiot.”

Zelos sinks to the forest floor with him.

“Lloyd!” 

Colette and Genis fall to their knees on either side. Zelos doesn’t quite get their frenzied panic until he realizes there’s something wet and syrupy dripping along his forearm, trailing down his sleeve draped across the front of Lloyd’s chest. 

Oh.

Oh.

Zelos pulls back to peer over Lloyd’s shaking shoulder. From ear to cheek, Zelos can see only pallid skin and glazed brown eyes. Blood drips from his open, uncharacteristically slack mouth. Zelos can feel under his arm the hiccuping spasms of sputtering lungs within his chest as they try and fail over and over again to do their one job.

“MOVE!”

On instinct, Genis rolls back as Raine fills his place and cups Lloyd’s cheek in her hand. She doesn’t hesitate when blood speckles her wrist. Her other hand glows golden-white as it passes over his front. Her face is pinched tight, focused, as under her breath, she mutters incantation after incantation. 

At last, finally, when Zelos feels like his legs are falling asleep on either side of Lloyd’s from the awkward positioning, Raine pulls away and Lloyd shudders.

Genis and Colette are at his shoulders, now. Zelos is fairly certain they have nearly forgotten he’s there, even if he deserves a thanks or two for being the only thing keeping their childhood friend upright.

“W-wow,” Lloyd rasps. His chest rises and falls quickly with hungry breaths. “Thanks.”

Raine’s staff crashes hard against Lloyd’s temple.

Zelos leans back as far as he can.

Lloyd yelps and grasps for his head with bloodied gloves.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were injured?!” she cries. “I could have healed you in the fight before making you do that Photon Tempest.”

“I didn’t…I didn’t think it was that--!”  

“You didn’t think, huh? Oh, that’s hardly surprising.”

Zelos tries to stuff his chuckle before it breaks free but fails. 

When Colette reaches forward and takes both Lloyd’s shoulders in her hands, there’s something earnest and pained in the blue of her eyes as she searches Lloyd’s. Then she says, “Don’t ‘it’s okay’ it next time.”

Lloyd stares at her. 

Colette’s face flushes. Her fingers tighten in the red of his shirt sleeves.

Zelos thinks he must miss something in their wordless conversation, because when Lloyd finally sighs, Colette does, too. 

“Yeah,” Lloyd whispers. “Okay.”

Now, let’s talk about K-pop groups you may or may not know about. 2012 brought a wave of awesome new groups. I was fairly new to the K-pop scene so I just went exploring and discovering new groups and boy am I glad I did that, because now I can tell you all about these hidden gems:

Debuts

So in this year, Gangnam Style happened, yeah everyone knows that bUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE HAPPENED??? YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT, B.A.P DEBUTED!!! They were amazing, ruthless, powerful, just wow, no wonder they became my ultimate group right away cause did you see their debut MV?? Bunny aliens that invade the earth to save their dying planet?! it was wild y’all Also you should definitely watch Bang&Zelo’s Never Give Up, although it was released in 2011 I’m still gonna mention it here, because it was that good.

Debut: Warrior - B.A.P 

Another debut that many people may know is that of EXO. Before their real debut, they actually had released some mv’s like History (y’know “enjoy the mayo”).  I don’t know what it is with aliens this year but they seem to like this concept because also EXO turned out to be aliens with special superpowers from a dying planet named EXOPlanet. Till this day I can still hear the iconic “When the skies an-”

Y’all know GOT7? Then y’all must have heard about JJ Project a.k.a JB and Junior!! Jaebum and Jinyoung appeared in the k-drama Dream High 2 just before their actual debut, and boy did I LOVE Dream High 2. So obviously I was sToKeD for their debut, and they didn’t let me down. You should definitely also listen to Hooked.

Debut: Bounce - JJ Project

Let’s talk about my humongous crush on Jung Ilhoon, shall we? That boy man entranced me from the very first beginning. BTOB’s debut was wow, ilhoon was wow, I was wow. I remember watching their MTV Diary late at night, I watched them all and my mom got mad lol but I was so so so into BTOB, and along with B.A.P, they were my ultimate favourites. (pssst.. MTV Diary BTOB is still one of the best reality shows out there, i’m not saying you should watch it but i think you should, they are absolute crackheads)

VIXX debuted with Super Hero and they had a comeback the same year with Rock Ur Body. Both VERY good songs and that’s why I’m so mad it isn’t on Spotify, this was my jam y’all, why you gotta do this to me, just put in on Spotify please. They actually have more songs from their earlier days that aren’t on Spotify :((

Okay, then AOA happened. I absolutely LOVE their debut song, 10/10, chef’s kiss, just listen. Till this day Elvis and Get Out are my favourite AOA songs.

DO YOU KNOW C-CLOWN??? YOU SHOULD cause without this group we wouldn’t have that frickin’ handsome hot sexy Aussie dude named CHristian Yu, insta: @/dprian (thought i was gonna say Bang Chan or Felix? ¬‿¬)  They debuted with Solo but you should rather watch Far Away Young Love, this mv is so good, the story line, the song, the boys… 12/10. Sadly they disbanded back in 2015 and all the members went their own way. Christian founded DPR, and “Maru” or simply Jaejun debuted again in 2019 with the group TREI (you should definitely watch their debut mv, i love it so much)

Debut: Solo - C-Clown

Let me tell you about a group that literally said in a song that they “f*ck like a p*rnstar”. Yes, it’s a South-Korean group from 2012 we’re talking about. Big Star. They are iconic, unapologetic, energetic, i freaking love them. They all went to the survival show ‘The Unit’ in 2017 and you may know Feeldog from that. “I rap like a monster and I f*ck like a p*rnstar….my rap always kills the track, at night I always kill the girl” yeah they did that

Debut: Hot Boy - Big Star (this debut is uhh… interesting)

Y’all, this group deserved so much better, I mean, their songs were absolute bops but I guess they were just ahead of their time. The Wonder Boyz! Wonder Boyz were being mistreated by the CEO of their agency, they were assaulted, verbally abused and the CEO allegedly also stole from them, it was horrible to hear this, they had so much potential. I liked how they made the songs theirs, matching it to their unique voices. So far I know they only have two mv’s. After their disbandment, they all went their own way and I’m happy to report that they are doing well. Young Boy changed his stage name into Roscoe, and is now part of DPR (we gang gang), K or Taehyun is now active as Owol (definitely listen to Why), Master One is now known as V-Hawk (Tokki mv) and I don’t really know what happened with Bak Chi Gi but some sites say he became an independent artist.

Nu’est, the big brothers of Seventeen! Their debut song was a bop, really, and Ren was so beautiful. Also, I really digged their hair styles. Face - Nu’est

In reality, none of this was constant. There were plenty of deceivingly peaceful times (it was never actually peaceful when you were fighting a war, but it seemed peaceful, at least). 

But these were the sounds which stuck with Junhong. He could hear them playing over and over in his head, especially during the quiet, downtime.

He had never agreed with or even liked war. He hated violence, and he hated hatred, as hypocritical as it sounds. But, more specifically, he hated hatred for other people. He hated intolerance and ignorance.

And he’d been alone. He’d had a whole troop of soldiers by his side, fighting the same fight, but he’d been alone.

He’d missed you so goddamn much that he’d practically cried himself to sleep almost every night.

He’d missed you, and he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about all the people dying. He’d kept wondering just why he was here. Why had this ever started? Why were people so... horrible?

All of his negative thoughts followed him home. Even when he was back in your bed, his mind still raced, and the sounds of war played at full volume in his head.

You noticed instantly he wasn’t the same Junhong he was when he’d left you, but you really hadn’t expected him to be. You knew he would come home a different person.

You just didn’t realize he would be this different.

You turned over in bed to face him, reaching out and gently resting a hand on his shoulder. He jumped awake, and you could hear his shallow breathing become more relaxed as he realized it had only been a dream.

Although, it probably wasn’t just a dream. Everything he was seeing and hearing had probably been very real at one point.

“Hey, it’s okay,” you whispered, scooting close to him and pressing your lips to the back of his neck. “I’m right here. You’re home now, remember? With me.”

You tried your best to comfort him, but you always felt you couldn’t do enough. You had no idea what he was going through. You’d been here at home while he’d been over there, so how could you know? How could you really help him believe everything would be okay?

But you tried anyway because you loved him. You always had, and you always would. No matter what.

You set your purse down on the counter, calling out to Junhong that you were home from work.

Usually, he came out to greet you with a kiss, but today he was nowhere to be found. At least not from where you stood in the kitchen. But none of his things were gone, so he had to be here.

“Junhong,” you called again, your brow furrowing in concern.

And then you heard them. The soft, choking sobs.

You followed the muffled sound into your bathroom, and your heart broke when you saw Junghong huddled on the floor in front of the bathtub, his face buried in his hands as his body shuddered with his cries.

You immediately dropped to your knees beside him, wrapping your arms around him and pulling him closer to you.

You shushed him, rubbed his back, kissed his head. And you silently cursed the world for doing this to him.

Why did he deserve this? Why did anyone deserve this? The world was such a cruel, unfair place, and you hadn’t truly understood that until Junhong had come home from the war.

As you held him there on your bathroom floor, you silently prayed to whoever or whatever was out there to hear Junhong’s cries. To hear the cries of all the soldiers and the families and the children affected by this war and to put an end to all of it.

Please.

It took Junhong a while to agree, but after months of persuading, he finally did.

He agreed to actually marry you. On Christmas Day of all days.

You two had legally gotten married before he went off to war, but you hadn’t had a wedding. You hadn’t the money nor the time, so you’d simply applied for a marriage license at City Hall and called it a day.

But today you were getting married. You were having a real wedding with a dress and music and cake and all that jazz. Junhong would be wearing a suit, waiting for you at the end of the aisle.

And while he wasn’t the same Junhong you’d married over two years ago, you still loved him. Maybe you loved him even more now, despite the fact he’d been hesitant to have this wedding.

But you really couldn’t blame him. He was still suffering, and he claimed he didn’t see the point in having what was really a glorified party when you were already married. 

There were more important things to worry about in this godforsaken world.

But you’d quietly told him a wedding would make you happy. It would make him happy. It would make your friends and family happy.

And happiness was what truly mattered in life, didn’t he agree? Happiness brought hope, and hope brought light to the darkness.

And Christmas was a time of joy and love and hope, wasn’t it?

He hadn’t been able to turn you down after that reasoning.

He figured, if he could do something like this to make you happy, then that was at least a step in the right direction of overcoming whatever it was he’d brought back with him from the war.

Maybe it would even help him get over his newfound fear of having children with you. He didn’t want to pass on his struggles, but he did want to pass on the light the two of you created with your love.

So, as the snow fell outside, as the families in the houses around the church celebrated and opened presents and laughed and smiled, you and Junhong vowed your undying love for each other in front of your closest friends and family. You kissed, you ate cake, you danced to jazz music, and you drove away in the fanciest car you’d ever seen back to your small apartment with your tiny Christmas tree because you couldn’t afford a real honeymoon yet.

But that was all right. You had each other, and that was enough. He was now coming to realize that. As long as he had a roof over his head, a steady job, food on the table... and you. Everything would be okay.

Maybe... maybe realizing all of this would actually help him forgive himself.

BAP in Atlanta Concert Experience

yo this was actually my first concert ever, and I’m glad it was BAP <3

I had so much fun, and I was really surprised by how much energy the members could bring to the stage and the audience. 

This was my first time seeing them in person and I was blown away. First of all, they are ridiculously professional on stage aka their stages were amazing! There were no uncomfortable or awkward moments when they performed; it was just pure energy and talent.

Himchan

I literally cannot believe I have been lied to all these years. Whoever said he is untalented is lying to themselves. His voice is amazing! He’s an amazing singer!!! On top of that, he was so gentle and professional on stage. I can’t believe anyone would claim this literally perfection of a man is not up to idol standards. Himchan is amazing. My opinion and respect for him was not low before, but its a lot higher now. Himchan deserves so much more.

Daehyun

I have not met anyone sweeter to his fans. My god. This boy is the cutest piece of fluff I have ever laid eyes upon. He kept smiling and waving to us in the audience, and he kept reassuring us we would be together forever. I honestly felt so proud to be a baby when i listen to Daehyun interact with us. His thankfulness to babyz is genuine. for real. i want to protect this boy from all the hardships in the world. he deserves all the love. and his voice IS AMAZING. his voice was so moving, i really could feel emotion welling up in my chest during his solo. Daehyun is such a hard worker and genuine. 

Youngjae

something I didn’t freakin know about Youngjae until I saw him in person is he has GODLY proportions. His figure is fantastic. I couldn’t help but stare at how amazing his body is. He looks like a model, even when he was just standing around. I always loved him for his face, but I can’t believe how beautiful is he in real life. OH AND HE IS SO RUDE 4 REAL. He is really freakin good with his body language and expressions on stage. His stage presence during performances is unreal. It’s clear that he worked really hard on making his performance flow, and he’s not awkward at all on stage. I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. 

Jongup

His dancing skills are off the charts. He is so natural in the way he moves. performance cameras can’t do him justice. It’s almost like he was born to be a dancer. his stage presence was incredible. his solo was fantastic to watch. Jongup is mesmerizing. its so funny tho, because there isn’t a shred of awkwardness when he performs, but he was so awkward during the fan interaction portion. But honestly, the awkwardness made him especially cute. I love the way he interacted with us tbh. 

Zelo

This boy was born a performer. Holy mackerel. Zelo was so playful, both during and between performances. not a shred of stiffness in his body. plus, he was so captivating during songs. His rapping, singing, and dancing skills are no joke. I have never seen anyway more natural on stage. everytime his parts came on, my attention was just drawn to him. I think my respect for him went through the roof after watching him perform live. As someone with dance performance experience, I cannot believe how incredible he was on stage. almost makes me think he isn’t human loool. 

conclusion: I’ve never been prouder to be a BABY. Stan talent. Stan BAP.

💚 BAP in Düsseldorf - Forever with Babyz tour 09.12.2018 💚

I know this post has been very late, but I was sick and made a thread on twitter too!

We went to Germany the day of the concert, my mom was travelling with my sis and I and I also met one of my closest friends at the venue and it was so fun on our way to the hall and the concert. The next day we also went to the Xmas market (quiet boring SKDJKSJDK) and I will never forget this, but when I went to buy waffles and pancakes at this Turkish place, they also gave free food to homeless people (bless them omg)

Concert This concert, was honestly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD. Theyre even better irl than seeing them on youtube, I couldnt believe my eyes and ears wow. Thank you for the great time ;;;

I have been following BAP since predebut and I never got the chance to see them live and knew this would be my last time and whatever happend I had to see my faves ;; Ive so many great memories with them, and apart from their amazing music, they're amazing people too and they went through so much :( their music helped me through a lot ;;

I had silver seats, but the venue was so empty I was front row in silver GA and Babys are one of the most mature fans I have ever seen, because nobody pushed me :o Even tall people gave me their spot ;;; so sweet! But tbh the empty venue made me very very sad, because they used to be damn huge and got sold out venues (even bigger than this one) but nobody really cared bc BAP was having fun with their loyal fans <3

BAP had made eco bags they would distribute to fans (there was a lottery I think?) (THIS IS SO ADORABLE MAN) And before the encore they also showed handwritten letters, which made me cry bc they talked about their hardship too.. :(

During the MC fans chanted SARANGHAE, and daehyun was like ‘wow your Korean is SO GOOD’ LMFAO and fans also chanted Johnny Depp, I have no IDEA why SJDKSJD maybe its a German thing? And also pls be quiet during MCs bc BAP couldn't rly talk and asked certain fans to be quiet too ;; and if you wanna bring a cardboard, please think about other peoples view..

Anyways, during the MC Zelo also said he didn't had his contract anymore and they didnt plan to go Europe but desperately wanted to see us ;; They didnt want to leave for encore either, and they did it TWICE. I cried so much during goodbye, because it felt like BAPs last concert ever. But I trust BAP a lot and will support every decision by them ;; Youngjae also called Yongguk during the encore and it was honestly so beautiful to sing goodbye with them and the fans and seeing their old videos on the background ;; I also had a lightstick btw!!! and the green ocean was honestly beautiful ;; 

During this concert, I rather paid attention to BAP than having fun, I wanted to have memories and my view... wow I would never exchange it for seats, I could see them so damn well and oh my god they’re so talented!! The vocals, the raps and the dance moves, they deserve so damn much.. Im so happy with this setlist bc it had SO SO SO MANY old songs ;;;
