CHAPTERS.

i — are you ready for it?

The House of the Hearth was perfect. This was where you thrived—where no one else could take this feeling away. But then Lynette became a part of the ‘family’, and with it, she dragged along Lyney.

ii — i don’t wanna hurt you (i just wanna be)

You look more like a soldier than an orphan, Lyney thinks. It’s beautiful in all the wrong ways.

iii — you gotta leave before you get left

Desperately, Lyney melts them away, but your footsteps have already gone out of earshot. It’s an answer in itself: Don’t bother. Take the hint, Lyney; you already messed it up.

iv — for you i would fall from grace

“What now? What do you want me to do? Strut back into their lives and demand all their Fatui secrets as if I never left?”

Aether nestles into his seat. “Prove to me that I can trust them just as much as you do. Who knows, you might get something out of this, too.”

v — you must like me for me

Lyney laughs. It sounds like music that has haunted you for years—and with a new one playing, it’ll torment you for years more. He loosens his grip but keeps you caged in, still. You’re twirled around to face him, and something about his expression has you swallowing thickly.

“You’re even more stunning than I remember, ma chérie.”

vi — look what you made me do

You frown at him, your face upside down in his view. “That was unfair.”

“I have to be if I want to beat you.”

vii — all eyes on you, my magician

He doesn’t take his eyes off you, even once when his fingers reached out to fish out a champagne flute. Lyney still has that stupid smile on his face, the rim of his glass against his lips. You’re hit with the startling realization that you want to kiss him.

Fuck, what?

viii — you’ve ruined my life, by not being mine

“You’re so warm,” you murmur to his skin.

Goosebumps blossom all over his body. Your face brushes against the side of his neck. “Do you hate it?”

“I like it. My hands are cold. Every part of you is warm.”

ix — us traitors never win

Lyney knew that this would happen. He knew well enough to predict what ‘Father’ would make them do, but still—

“We understand,” Lynette says, her eyes darting down to Lyney’s clenched fists.

The Knave stares at Lyney, and the strength of her stare has Lyney lowering his eyes to the floor. “Do you?” she asks. They wisely stay silent: Lynette’s hesitance and Lyney’s frustration. “Then I trust this won’t happen any longer.”

x — king of my heart, body and soul

You bit back the bite of ice and wondered how ironic it was that every time your Vision acted out, it was, more often than not, tied to Lyney.

“What, so you expect me to believe you’d just go against your ‘Father’ like that?”

xi — baby can we dance, through an avalanche?

Lyney supposes he can’t hate Aether that much for that. And selfishly, Lyney supposes he can’t truly hate Aether because he brought you back to him. In a vague sense of camaraderie, Lyney understands.

xii — there is an indentation in the shape of you

And so you two stand face to face with your old home, the House of the Hearth. It still had the same grand doors you remember, the same living room, and the same fireplace, but the emptiness was unfamiliar. It was unsettling, like a bad dream.

This used to be your home.

xiii — he built a fire just to keep me warm

“I think it’s special. We’re twins, Lyney and I, but I think if I were in his body for even a day, I wouldn’t be able to recreate what you two have. He treasures you deeply, more than you know.”

It’s only slightly outdated. Most of the lore is still true! I’ll be making a separate Twitter for it very soon as well. So far Gene Spliced is the only one that I’ll be making into a comic! It’s the one that’s closest to my heart and I’ve been putting a lot of work into it. 🥹♥️ I’ve got the outline for the first issue written so now I’m just sketching out the pages. Putting a samples below! (There’s a two pages between these sequences but I’m omitting cause spoilers lol.) I’ve never made a comic before so it’s also gonna be a learning experience for me. 😭 So happy people enjoy my GS turtles. I truly am.

The Divorce AU is something I’m still developing. It’s just on the back burner. Central idea for them is just Tang Shen is the one who mutated as raised them while Yoshi is the Shredder.

Embrace Legacy literally is just 2003 turtles return and experience IDW canon events. Idk how is to put it. Lawl. You can find more design concept stuff for them here and on my twt under just the #tmnt hashtag, though they’re def easier to find here I’m sure. But again Legacy designs are just rebooted 2k3 and double as my IDW interpretations.

As for my favorite designs- I really adore Legacy Donnie and GS Raph. 💜♥️ I really like how they came out but also the GS turtles all together are just my absolute faves. I love them so much. I’m so happy with all of them.

ALSO MY TENDENCY TO DRAW LEO MAKES ME SICK CAUSE RAPH IS MY FAVE. 😭😭😭 (I love Raph and Leo equally there’s just a lot of evidence against me. ⚰️)

but yeah!! i figure he only became a pottery instructor a couple years back… dilfguru worked as a social studies teacher for many many years before eventually switching entirely to art as he grew older. and he became especially fond of pottery <3 so since he had the money (gojo) and connections (gojo) he thought he’d make his own little studio!! :3 it’s a very relaxing activity for him and he really cherishes his sessions. he mostly teaches children and teens but also frequently does classes with other adults!! he really really loves it <333 i feel like he teaches other art classes too…. maybe calligraphy. or ikebana.

hiiiiii i just wanted to come gush about your wriothesley fic because it was just so beautiful 🥺 i really really loved how you included common teyvat plants all throughout the story, it just felt so interactive in a sense!! also, that part in the last scene about the romaritimes and dendrobiums and the other flowers andddddd the part about naku weeds surviving thunder? i had to individually go look up the lore of all those plants (i mean this in a good way) and you incorporated them saurrrr beautifully ohmigosh :0 i was especially impressed by the dendrobium metaphor it twas beautiful, and it honest to god fit so perfectly with wrio and his backstory. my favorite favoriteeeeee part is how you balanced his vulnerability with his strength. idk idk idk!!!! me just thinks it was a very perfect mix of him being open and “weak” in front of someone but still maintaining that strong aura about him that he has. i’ve never read a wriothesley characterization that was so vulnerable yet felt so real and true to his character so kudos to you you’re amazing 😣 anddddd you’re talented beyond belief i hope you know your ability to put words together is wickedly impressive okie??? so you have my thanks for giving us such a great read🫰🏼mwahmwahmwah 😘

I do indeed recall your original ask, yes!

This was definitely something of a special one for me to do, as the game holds some nostalgia for me—when the original Overwatch came out I was fresh out of high school and had a lot to figure out (I still do!) about what I wanted out of life. During this period I was able to make some friends through the game, and I think having a silly little competitive something to do was good for me as I've never been a very competitive person. So to have something relatively low stakes but engaging while I was figuring out some big things was nice, though I do understand some issues have arisen with the franchise in later years.

Having said that, you've given me one of my mains! If I wasn't playing D.Va then I was playing as Hanzo, and I like to think I did fairly well haha. So yes, big comfort character! While I wish there was more lore to the series and by extension its characters, there's enough there to work with imo (as things like character design, voice lines, and mechanics themselves provide a glimpse into said character). This one had me dusting off some old headcanons and putting a fresh spin on them, since I was already into agere even at that time! You're absolutely correct that there is very little agere fanworks for these characters because I was starving for it back then.

i haven't been working on any particular part of lore (more focused on some other aus atm) but i've been thinking more about the swap !! era.. mayoi's not really involved, but i do have some ideas for the eccentrics (they rot my brain always)

trying to start things off on a light note, the eccentrics definitely went on like,, trips together. particularly things like camping/hiking considering how many of them are like "society and people are weird. revert to rock" lmao. tsumugi would probably tag along a lot too

valkyrie was kind of just a result of mayoi and tsumugi's unlikely friendship during the war. it's pretty much just two skrunklies nerding over historical fashion

valk's old songs still happen, sora takes nazuna's place in them

i can just see tsumugi, mayoi, and sora hiding in like. the basement. of yumenosaki playing video games as they wait for the war to be over

i feel like mayoi would be afraid of himeru until he sees the others' softer side (doting on kaname) and then is like. huh. he's not that bad

i'm not too sure who forms a duo with wataru before crazy:b tbh,, natsume could easily make sense if i just made his relationship with his mom worse (i need to make up for the lost angst! /hj) but a wataru/koga duo is really funny to me

something bad happens between wataru/shu/kuro (possibly before or during high school) which takes the place of the amagi family conflict in canon for the !! era. i'm not really sure what that is yet though

both alk and cb have the sort of odd found family dynamic here too. except alk gets two mom friends and cb gets two deranged uncles

It's been awhile since I last visited ur blog, but DAMN—UR ART JUST KEEPS EVOLVING!!! I said this in a previous ask, but your colors holds both vibrancy yet natural flow that draws attention to the focal point but also gives love to the details (especially w/lighting and shadows (Caldera's fire glow effect still lives rent free in my head, but I also saw PL cards and THE SMOOTH SHINE OF LOTISE AND LUCERO'S HAIR THAT'S JUST ADDS DEPTH&CONTRAST TO THE BACKGROUND, THE SUBTLE GLOW OF THEIR EYE CLOSETS(probably saturation but it's making me feral) HOW THE SATURATION OF COLORS DON'T CLASH BUT WORK PERFECTLY TOGETHER AND STILL DRAW DISTINCT ATTENTION TO THE SCENE AND THE DETAILS—)). The way you draw characters, I feel like there is a lot more flexibility and freedom in dynamically angles and posing for them! I still feel a lot of anime nostalgia but also a uniqueness in how aesthetic shows up in design (toytoria dorm room has roblox royal high nostalgia for me hsksj). THAT COMIC YOU POSTED FOR TOYTORIA ANNIVERSARY THO, THE FLOW OF THE COMIC IS JUST INCREDIBLY WELL DONE!!! It really does feel like a small glimpse into a natural interaction between characters. For characters, I unfortunately am not up to date but from what I've so far, ur characters are expressive in this dynamic way that comes across so well when writing dialouge or from their perspective. I feel like your sense of direction w/the lore you want to establish is even more refined and I think you do a mind-blowing job in conveying it (show don't tell vibe). I still enjoy and look forward to seeing how chaotic and mentally ill/j you make ur characters. I'm extremely elated to see just how much you've grown despite not knowing the full picture.

I'll offer up two variants for some of the answers, using my main OC file (Ashe my beloved) and my 2nd one that I use to mess around (Atlas who I have mentioned like... Once-)

TRAITS:

Your "canon" trait combination? Ashe: Mystical/Hot. I will take any chance I get to use my attractive OC son- (2nd best to go option tho via) Atlas (maybe I just like 'A' names lol): Mystical/Street Smarts. Let me break all the rules and lie my way thru everything pls- (basically, I like it if it can help me socially and Street Smarts has its perks there too haha)

What third trait would you add for hardcore mode? For Ashe I'm tied between Talk to Animals and Street Smart. Animals to go down the full something is definitely up with him kind of vibe vs the one he'll actually likely have due to his personality/bad boy roots lmao. Atlas gets Book Smart, to be deceptively like the type where he doesn't look it.

What trait are you least drawn to? Powerful Build. Strong? My vain bb Ashe who would never chip a nail? I promise you if he looks like he has muscle it's purely for show lol. And Atlas is a stick. Aside from achievement hunting, I'm also just not down to throwing hands/go for physical strength to solve my problems haha. Nice if you want your MC to lean more to himbo if you pair w/ hot, but if not for that then nah :p

Coolest trait? Mystical. I know I'm not alone on this haha. Aside from enjoying lore and slapping it on almost all my runs for my OC army, I feel like it fits best for SH's setting.

ROMANCE:

Who are you romancing? Reese for Ashe and Wayne for Atlas (me slapping the two Monster Lover achievements like DO YOU SEE THESE)

What romance are you least interested in? Dr Kelly. I do not hate her per say, I am just emotionally reactive to the *motions to the whole revelations of Episode 4*

Who would you romance if every single character was eligible? Isaacs or Harrison, likely? Like, I know Bo is a popular choice and I do like him, but considering it's 50/50 if he loses his dad, I wanna give the poor guys space to grieve first cause he's a sweet fellow.

MISCELLANEOUS:

What character would hurt you the most if something bad happened to them? Not including Reese who I am deeply hoping is ok on the endings where he's still breathing, I gotta say Kaneeka and Tabitha. For Tabby, I'd put my MC thru hell if I have to (and I legit yelled when she choose to take on those years the first time I played Episode 3 like Tabby NO I'LL DO IT PLS); for Kaneeka, god her whole situation is just shitty I just want the best from her and someplace that she can go very far from her mom p l s I will cry if something happens to her-

Would you stay in Scarlet Hollow when the week is over? It's too early to say. Very likely no because SH rn doesn't strike me like it will let you burn the root of whatever looms and haunts over the holler. If anything, I wanna drag people OUT of Scarlet Hollow by week's end.

1. the character everyone gets wrong

WELL i feel like there are many such cases of this,,,though i suppose in any big fandom tht will be the case, statistically speaking. the dsmp probably feels so so extra bad in this department bcs it's a truly unique medium in the way ppl don't fucking watch or engage w it before making what the make 💀 which is well. yknow. idk if i can even pin one guy down rn because everyday i log on and it hurds so bad. ibuprofen img please just watch it w me please just search up a transcript. what about us. what about trust

WHEN PPL GET MAD ABT "CTOMMY MAIN CHARACTER"ISMS, oouiirgrgjjkgh don't get me started i'll chase everybody with worms. first of all: every character has their own unique pov and you can literally just watch that instead of complaining sm other guy is "overshadowing them" by just existing. lol. other povs are crucial to a full understanding of the dsmp and it's context but to act like ppl are putting a gun to your head and not letting you like blorbo3 or blorgiC is ridiculous to me...was cbad not the main character of the egg? was cq not the main character in lnv? get real. and secondly: ctommy is such a "main character" for ppl because he's tied into many many many storylines 💀 he engages and talks to and matters to a lot of ppl/heavy lore hitters so that's why he's around a lot. so i feel if you complain abt him being a centerpiece to the story yr being 1. deliberately obtuse, 2. showing tht yjust hate tommy and could very well be watching the pov of yr character of choice w/o punching down at THE BEST CHARACTER. like him or don't like him theres nothing you can do bcs he's #1.

(and to be clear, there are actually things to complain abt with mc pov bias or other players getting ignored, specifically in the context of women or poc but. wow the convo doesn't ever seem to drift there and instead it's ppl getting mad ctommy has friends who like him. wonder why that is lol lol lmao.)
