last night, i just had a terrible nightmare where someone sent in a really long ask that was straight up hating and criticizing every part of my writing. calling out the insecurities/faults, plot inconsistencies, and insulting my writing style—
which i admit: yeah, it's wordy and really long, sometimes i focus too much on one scene or on the emotions solely, and i focus on every single detail; i'm a very emotional and hypersensitive person who likes to overanalyze on the scenes and characters. i acknowledge that it's unconventional and unprofessional at times; but it's what makes me happy and it's up to readers to continue reading or not despite the length. it's my own writing, i write content for free and everything i post are indulgent on my part, hence why i explicitly state i don't really wish for constructive criticism since again, it's all for free and it's all done for fun.
though, in that dream, it came to the point where the ask straight up told me i should just quit writing, that whatever i'm writing for is utter trash (overrated, it says. there are better writers out there and, yeah, i agree. i've the passion and drive but not so much for talent) and not worth the effort to read. so i did what was told and deactivated my account and went on to never write anymore fanfics after just how shaken up i was, then i woke up HAHAHAH.
and it genuinely felt so real, ngl. i couldn't get it off of my mind even until now, so here i am rambling about it. sorry if anyone expected me to post a drabble, or a fanfic; but right now i need more time to ponder upon whether or not i should change my writing style 'cause chapter five pt 2 will be posted soon but it's longer and who knows? maybe my worst nightmare may come true if i post it and it's subpar, not up to expectation.
and if people don't really wish for something long that borders on boring or filler scenes, then maybe, maybe not i will change how i write (but i probably won't lmao). either way, i have to remind myself that i am writing for myself, and posting it to simply archive in this account. i just hope people won't be as cruel as that mystery person in my dreams if i ever do
it's genuinely the audience's choice to read my works or not if the length or style bothers them. and as entitled as i may sound, i wish to remind some that writing a chapter with more than 10k words is my choice, and it's an arduous process too that takes hours of my time. writing fanfics is for me is purely indulgent and are reflections of my real life experiences, if it's lengthy, then yes i chose it to be, but it's not like i'm writing a thesis or an essay, i'm writing a goddamn fanfic with stereotypical tropes (most especially yandere) because it what makes me enjoy my passion as an author.
i apologize again for the long ramble, i really just need this out of my thoughts. this is my own blog too so yeah 😭. if you guys follow me solely for my fanfics, then filter out the "🍹... yael's talking" tag if you wish to avoid these types of talks.

i would like to give u a tip
U write so beautifully first off and I love the desceiptions
But on thing I noticed in muzzle was the increase in filler scenes. U need to keep the story flowing and readers would get rather bored ewsily, i akways notice that there are repetition of the same thoughts. Pls don't take it wrongly! I love ur writing sm ml
Hello! Thank you for the constructive criticism. I wanted to give you some information about Muzzle and the reasoning behind the way I write specific things!
1. I actually don’t write filler for Muzzle. Everything you see in the story is something that will be important for later scenes or building up character. Even the scene where she’s going to the store, that’s build up. Or when she’s walking somewhere and having thoughts, that’s build up. Even the high school flash back was an important scene to the story. I consider filler to be anything that’s not needed—however I try to write everything in my story to be something that IS needed.
2. Secondly, the MC is supposed to have repetitive thoughts. She’s an insecure person who shows signs of OCD tendencies; which means obsessive and obsessive means to think things over and over again. The only way I can explain her thoughts are—if you throw a sticky ball at the wall, it’s going to stay there no matter how hard you shake it off. The more you try to push it away or ignore it, the sticker it becomes. That’s OCD. Plus when the MC is having a mental spiral, she’ll repeat her thoughts because that’s all she can focus on. Extreme anxiety disorders can do that to specific types of people.
I appreciate your constructive criticism however the things you marked are things I do purposely! If anyone thinks I’m writing filler or maybe they realize they are bored of my writing, that’s fine. Everyone can have different takes on my writing! However I suggest them to look deeper into my writing and not just surface level, as I put a lot of thought into my scenes and writing. Everything is meant for something.

Dangancember 2024 - Danganronpa Top 24 Class Trials: Number 24 Danganronpa 2 Case 3
Tumblr media
//So...first thing's first...
//I am...kind of shocked that this one actually made the list. Because this trial is genuinely in my top 5 least favorite trials in the series, and it is widely considered to be the all-time worst case in the entire series for everybody else. For me personally, there are just a few that I like a little less, for a few reasons, which I've already gone over in the dishonerable mentions.
//But this trial is still good enough to manage to get onto the list, and I do think there are parts of it that people hold against it that are...a little too harsh. However, I generally do agree with the consensus that there is more room for improvement here.
//This case is the case that many in the fandom have deemed a moment where Danganronpa was at it's worse, and honestly, there is good reason for that. As much as I try to find good things about this case, it's really hard.
//This trial is the definition of a filler case in my eyes and no matter what aspect of it you look at, there's going to be a giant flaw with it.
//I'll go in detail in a bit obviously, but let it be known that this trial has a not very engaging mystery, terrible trial pacing, bad characterisations, big leaps in logic even for this series, and the absolute worst two parts of this trial for me, are the motive and the logistics, because believe it or not, this trial has something that you wouldn't expect from a series as well-constructed as Danganronpa.
//And that is
a potential plot hole! But we'll go over everything that makes this case flat out bad, while also trying to look for any positives we can find.
Tumblr media
//Let's start this case with the first, and in my opinion, one of the biggest issues with it: The Motive.
//To its credit, when you look back at the motive, and remember that this whole story of DR2 took place inside a virtual reality simulator, then it makes a little more sense. However, that doesn't stop it from being hopelessly dumb.
//A plot point and the motive Monokuma places in this chapter, is a type of illness called the, Despair Diseasetm.
//So, as the name implies, the Despair Disease is a type of what I can only assume to be a manufactured virus that Monokuma spreads around the students on the island. You might wonder, what does it do? Well, it's quite simple! It's an illness that alters your behavior! More precisely, it alters your behaviour to be the exact OPPOSITE of your typical behavior. And I nearly forgot, too! With a single snap of his fingers, Monokuma can miraculously cure this illness, which he inevitably does after Ibuki and Hiyoko's bodies are discovered.
//Four people contract this illness around the middle of Chapter 3, and three of them spend a significant portion of the chapter in lockdown. The first is Nagito, a character who is typically forthright and honest but becomes a huge, rotten liar once afflicted. Then Ibuki, who is typically a vivacious, bubbly, and bright individual, becomes a blind fool and accepts all she is told as fact. Then Akane, who is steadfast in her beliefs and typically doesn't become upset or notice significant problems (as demonstrated in this chapter following Nekomaru's removal for treatment), becomes a person who is continuously crying and terrified of the world around her, and immediately regrets everything despite what she stated literally the day before.
//Last but not least, Mikan, who deserves praise for effectively concealing her condition, eventually transforms from passive to aggressive. To the point that she actually murders somebody.
//Yeah, because I don't really want the murderer to have a good reason to kill or anything! This isn't a ridiculous method of making a normally composed person kill someone! RIGHT!?
//*sigh* Look...The Despair Disease sucks for several reasons. Not only is, for one, incredibly dumb in concept, and two, a very blatant excuse to have a normally friendly and timid character turn out to be a murderer, but it actually really knocks down the characterization and development of a lot of the DR2 cast, who are already the best cast in the series, but this is easily their low point.
Tumblr media
//Mikan especially, with her motivation, being tied to the Despair Disease, feels underwhelming and disconnected from her character arc. While the disease's purpose is to justify odd behavior, it robs Mikan of agency, making her actions feel less meaningful.
//Hiyoko spent the entire game tredding over Mikan. Kicking her down, and going out of her way to leave her out of EVERYTHING, and for little reason at that. Even in the moments where Hiyoko does allow herself to be vulnerable, she specifically singles Mikan out, and doesn't want anything to do with her. Even though I think Hiyoko is a much deeper character than most people usually see her as, the fact is that she was absolutely VILE to Mikan through the whole game.
//It would NOT be weird for Mikan's motivation to simply lie in the fact that she couldn't take it anymore. It would MAKE SENSE for Mikan to want to murder Hiyoko after being subjected to this abuse for so long. And if that had actually been the case, I think that could genuinely have made Mikan one of my favourite characters in the series, because not only is that a real statement on the kind of damage that bullying can cause, but it's actually a very reasonable motive!
//I mean, I'm not obviously encouraging anyone to kill their bullies, because that solves nothing. If anything, it means the bully wins because you basically just ruined your own life. But my point is there was an opportunity here, and it kind of felt wasted. There's little emotional or thematic weight to the murders committed in this chapter compared to other cases in the series.
//Oh yeah, speaking of which, why don't we talk about the fact that there's an "s" on the end of "murder" here, because Hiyoko isn't the only one that got killed this chapter, and in fact, she wasn't the original target to begin with!
Tumblr media
//As is tradition with, weirdly, every single third case in both the main and Another series, the killer of those cases almost always murders two people. SDRA2 is the exception to this, but three people die anyway because that case had two killers, not two victims.
//But...why?
//To be frank, although three people always die in the third cases, only ONE of those cases actually kind of makes sense to have two victims. But...we'll get to that.
//For this case at least, both Ibuki and Hiyoko died, and honestly, while I feel that one of them should have died, BOTH of them shouldn't have.
//See, the thing is, with Ibuki, it doesn't feel like she could have or should have survived to the end of the game. The goal of her character was to bring light humor to the table, and to be honest, she's probably 70% of the happiness on that godforsaken island. However, her attitude, personality, and general OWO Lol rofl attitude could be viewed as a little annoying and unhelpful.
//The issue is that it simply seems as though the devs killed Ibuki in Chapter 3 because they didn't want her to survive and used this as a pretext to do so. If that isn't the case, she was most likely murdered off because the first game committed a double murder, and they wanted to make a, may I add very poor, trend of that. The point is that Ibuki was killed off without any clear rhyme or justification, and while I won't deny that her bizarre demeanor during the last few trials may have broken the somber tone, keep in mind that two of the game's most peculiar and obnoxious characters, Yasuhiro and Toko, were among the survivors of the first game! Additionally, if you were going to remove her from the equation, do it in a way that is more significant, like Gundham. Is that really so difficult?
//Then there's Hiyoko, which is an entirely seperate issue, but has the same problems.
//She appeared to be going through a bit of an arc at this time. Despite all the problems Hiyoko brought to the table in the first two parts of the game, she was attempting to live and improve herself for the benefit of Mahiru, the one person on the island with whom she truly had a good friendship, and who was killed in the previous chapter.
//Despite all of this, even after I checked up on the lore and realized it wasn't true, I can't shake the weird sense that killing a character like her off was the original plan. Hiyoko was supposed to be one of the survivors, while Fuyuhiko was supposed to be the one who died in this chapter.
//To be honest, I'm relieved that didn't happen. I was immediately more invested in Fuyuhiko's arc than I was in Hiyoko's (again, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it), so in a way, I'm glad Hiyoko died instead of him. Like Hiyoko, Fuyuhiko was going through an arc where he would live for the sake of someone who died in the previous case, but for him, it was Peko, who was the killer.
//Referring back to what I've already stated regarding the motive and Ibuki, though, it would have been preferable if she had died and ONLY she died. It would have been more intriguing to learn what caused the killer to lose it, and it could have added a little more sadness to Hiyoko's death, because she was terrible to everyone on the island at this point in her storyline, especially this case's killer.
//But no. Not only was Hiyoko killed off and had her character arc cut short for such an unscrupulous reason, but the reason why she died in the first place is because she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It had NOTHING to do with her terrible treatment of Mikan.
//What's more, she feels SO SECONDARY, that we never actually cover HOW she died! She had her throat slit but...By WHAT!? And WHEN!? Nobody seems to care!
//I simply don't understand how TWO CHARACTERS could die in this chapter, and BOTH of them feel like they died as an afterthought! Even though Hiyoko is a main character and has an arc planned out for her, she truly feels like a secondary concern; and Ibuki dies in a way that feels more like a plot device than a meaningful loss. Her death lacks the emotional resonance seen in other victims' deaths.
//And I don't know how that's even POSSIBLE, and yet...It happened!
//And what's more, not only was the double murder bad for these two characters...it was bad for the game...in GENERAL! Because it ultimately results in creating an overly-complicated murder plan that is needlessly complex and relies heavily on improbable coincidences and timing.
//The double-murder in Game 1 was, surprisingly, quite straightforward. Celeste manipulated Hifumi into helping her murder Taka so she could confuse everybody, and then before Hifumi had a chance to squeal, Celeste killed him too.
//Like, that plan MAKES SENSE! But the two double-deaths that succeed it just...DON'T!
//Mikan's plan required manipulating Ibuki into climbing the stepladder and hanging herself, while also somehow setting up Hiyoko's murder in a way that wouldn't immediately implicate her. The use of the video feed and staged crime scene adds layers of confusion without much payoff.
//The trial just drags due to excessive leaps in logic and over-reliance on mechanics like repeating the same evidence. Some revelations feel contrived, such as the reliance on the despair disease as a catch-all explanation for behavior.
//And this is where the dreaded plot hole comes in. I'm gonna try and explain this as best as I can, but even if I do that, it might sound a little complex. So please, don't hold it against me, it's the trials fault, not mine.
//Okay, so...*deep breath* To quote Hajime, here's everything that happened in this case:
Tumblr media
//This case begins with Hajime entering the hospital, where Nagito, Akane, and supposedly Ibuki are being treated. There, he notices a broadcast on a monitor in the hospital lobby using a video system that Kazuichi set up that connects from the Hospital to the Music Venue. The original purpose of this was to allow communication across the island so that the group could better communicate while quarentining the sick students at the hospital.
//But the video appears to show a live suicide occurring at the Music Venue, with a figure wearing a bag over their head, obfuscating their identity. Hajime immediately runs to the Music Venue upon seeing it cut to black.
Tumblr media
//However, the video was, in actuality, a ruse staged by Mikan, who had actually filmed it in the hospital conference room just above Hajime.
Tumblr media
//When Hajime arrives at the Music Venue, he discovers Ibuki's body, already deceased for quite some time. Shocked, he rushes to the hotel to inform the others. Meanwhile, Mikan seizes this opportunity to carry out several elaborate actions at the Music Venue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
//First, she smashes the monitor used for the video broadcast.
//Second, she raises the temperature of the venue to manipulate the time-of-death estimation.
//Third, she breaks a drumstick and then glues the door shut to make it seem as though the culprit locked themselves inside, casting suspicion on those who were absent.
//And fourth, she tears off wallpaper concealing Hiyoko's already-dead body behind a stage pillar, creating the illusion that she died after Hajime's initial discovery. In actuality, Hiyoko was murdered BEFORE Ibuki after she accidentally walked in on Mikan setting up the murder, and had to be silenced. Mikan killed Hiyoko, stuck her to the wall with tape, and covered her with wallpaper before she left.
Tumblr media
//After finishing these tasks, Mikan runs outside and encounters Fuyuhiko near the motel, where Hajime is already convincing Chiaki to return to the scene.
//Within the rough timeline, Hajime’s trip to the motel, and his success in bringing Chiaki back likely took no more than TWO! FUCKING! MINUTES! This implies that Mikan had less than TWO MINUTES to execute all of her actions that I've just listed at the Music Venue. A feat requiring EXCEPTIONAL speed, precision, and foresight.
//The issue arises with the plausibility of Mikan’s capabilities. While an athletic and quick-thinking character like Maki or Peko might believably pull off such a crime, Mikan’s established characterization makes this incredibly unlikely.
//Her clumsiness is a DEFINING trait; so much so that her falling awkwardly serves as EVIDENCE in the game's first case! Asking the audience to believe she could perform such an elaborate and precise crime strains credibility.
//I know that I kind of play with this idea in DR Survivor, with Mikan being shockingly powerful and agile despite herself when she gets serious, but it doesn't change the fact that in general, this is just really dumb, and near IMPOSSIBLE to achieve!
//I am aware more than anyone that Danganronpa makes some pretty incredible leaps in basic behavior, and the whole idea of the series is that the riddles are typically intended to be senseless and irrational from a regular standpoint. But even in the game's own universe, THIS scenario is impossible! Even if Kiyo and his seesaw were a little crazy for a murderous plot, THAT plan made sense and could probably work in a real world setting!
//And this trial is just full of really dumb leaps in logic. Here's another one! Monokuma's movie!
Tumblr media
//This plot point where Monokuma makes a really shitty Wizard of Oz parody where he just murders all the characters, arises because Mikan apparently did an imitation murder of the events of the movie.
//It's also maybe the most forgotten points of this trial, yet being one of the most important ones altogether. Mikan had originally intended to kill Ibuki and JUST Ibuki when Hiyoko unintentionally walked in on her, therefore the imitation murder wasn't planned. Apparently, the imitation murder was simply carried out as a red herring to divert our attention from the question of why the murderer would have done it.
//Now, I kindly ask where the logic in that idea is? If I were killing someone and then unintentionally had to kill someone else who had entered my room, why in the world would my initial reaction be, "Crap, this wasn't planned! Here's an idea! I'll mimic the plot of that stupid film in order to trick everyone!"
//The answer is I wouldn't! Because that's a really dumb and ridiculous leap in logic!
//Also, you know how Danganronpa and Ace Attorney are widely recognized for their cultprits having cartoonishly dramatic emotional breakdowns when they get caught? I think Mikan might be a big reason why.
//Now, I'm all for Mikan being a crazed lunatic under her skin. Like I said, if that side was brought out in the face of snapping under repeated emotional duress, it would make sense. But Mikan's breakdown and confession, while shocking, feels inconsistent with her previous characterization.
//While there are hints at her deeper personality issues, her sudden transition into a despair-crazed killer feels jarring and poorly developed. Especially at that moment where you have no real context, and it's kind of established that "Oh, no, this is just who she really is. She was always fucking crazy."
//The despair disease is never revisited or explained in depth, making it feel like a gimmick rather than a meaningful addition to the story. The case contributes little to the overarching narrative, making it feel like filler compared to the more impactful cases before and after it. The only thing I CAN say it contributes to are two things:
It explains the tense mood throughout the first act of Chapter 4, and a large reason why Gundham was pushed to sacrifice himself. Because of Mikan's personality shift, everybody, especially Kazuichi, begins to doubt everyone else's true nature and motivations. After all, what's stopping there from being another crazed lunatic among them like her?
It's the biggest hint towards the truth of why the Remnants are there, because upon remembering, Mikan reverted to her Remnant self, which all of the others on the island actually were like before they forgot. It's an interesting thing to look back on post-game, but at the moment in time, it feels out of place and weird.
Tumblr media
//Still, I can't pretend to completely despise this case. After all, the fact that it made the list in the first place is still an achievement. It may be among the lesser cases of the DR series, but it's still not the worst.
//For fans of Mikan, this case offers a glimpse into the darker facets of her personality, hinting at a deeper connection to despair and her toxic relationships in the past. Her breakdown and confession, while sudden and kind of nonsensical, add layers of tragedy to her character; who has already been established to be a very broken person, as it ties into her desperate desire to feel needed, even at the cost of her sanity.
//And that, even amongst every other part of her, is probably the saddest thing. She's actually the second purple-haired character in the series who was abused by everyone and yearns for codependence, but hers and Toko's are two different kinds of pain.
//The trial features standout moments of character interaction and tension, such as the beginning where Nagito accuses Hajime of being the perpetrator, although knowing that Hajime is the only one who could not have committed the crime because, before to the trial, he was the only one who did not watch Monokuma's movie.
//And again, to reiterate, the way this case subtly foreshadows the larger narrative is pretty neat upon reflection.
//The case subtly hints at overarching themes of the game, particularly the influence of despair on the characters and the blurred line between victims and culprits. And Mikan’s ties to "her beloved," which at this point in time is almost confirmed to be Junko Enoshima, and her obsession with Despair act as breadcrumbs for the larger plot twist later in the game.
//In short, Case 3 suffers from a mix of convoluted plotting, unsatisfying motivations, and lack of emotional depth, making it feel like one of the weaker cases in the series. It’s often seen as a missed opportunity for character development and storytelling. However while it might not be the strongest in terms of logical consistency or character motivations, its unique atmosphere, impact, and the spotlight on Mikan’s character arc make it a memorable chapter for me.
//Enough, at least, to earn it an honorary spot on this list.

The streaming era and binge watching has truly rotted people's brains and people, especially in cartoon/animation spaces, always use Amphibia season 1 as an example of that.
S1 Amphibia gets put in the hot seat when this type of conversation comes up and your opinion on it says a lot about how you watch media at this point. Fillers is a word that comes up a lot and it should have never entered our space because it wasn't meant for it.
This isn't saying you're not allowed to dislike any episodes or whatever but like this streaming era has people convinced that any episode that doesn't end on a cliffhanger or isn't drama or lore filled is a huge waste of time and a "filler". There's so much praise for shows like ATLA for having standalone episodes with an overarching plot yet shows nowadays don't get that same grace for doing the same exact thing.
It's exhausting to see the same tired cold takes from people who can't seem to appreciate shows like Amphibia for being a well constructed show. Having some down time, getting into shenanigans, and all that is a huge plus in my book and I'm always gonna prefer shows making me care for the characters rather than pure angst because that's fucking boring. Amphibia gets praised for episodes like Reunion and True Colors but people forget that what makes those episodes hit hard is the journey and the time we spent with the characters leading up to it. Sure you can skip a lot of episodes to get to the good parts but that feels so empty and less rewarding. Reunion, the episode hits hard especially the part where Sprig stands up for Anne because of the time we spent seeing how much they've grown together as best friends. And I could go on and on but y'all get the point.
My point is, if you can't appreciate Amphibia s1 then you don't deserve the rest of the show. It's incredibly boring to view media this way.

New Type of Amphora Found in 4th-Century Roman Shipwreck
A new study, featured in the journal “Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences,” brings to light important discoveries on an ancient Roman shipwreck found near Mallorca, one of Spain’s Balearic Islands.
Situated only 65 meters away from a well-visited beach close to Palma, Mallorca’s capital, this shipwreck has caught the interest of many due to its preservation and interesting cargo.
A group of archaeologists and researchers conducted the study using a detailed analytical method to uncover the secrets behind the shipwreck’s origin, contents, and importance.
They used various techniques such as petrographic analysis, archaeozoology, residue analysis, and the examination of wood and plant remains to thoroughly investigate the site, according to “Archaeology” magazine.
Amphora named ‘Ses Fontanelles I’ found in the wreck
Inside the ship’s cargo area, researchers discovered a collection of ceramic objects, mainly amphorae, which were commonly used to store and move different items.
Tumblr media
A significant discovery from the study is the recognition of a new kind of amphora, called Ses Fontanelles I, only found in this wreck. The newly identified amphora is larger and heavier than others, and it was mainly used for transporting plant oil.
The recovered amphorae from the shipwreck have painted inscriptions called tituli picti, which give important details about where the items came from, what they were, and who owned them.
These inscriptions tell us that the makers of the amphorae were Ausonius et Alunni, and they also reveal that the cargo contained fish sauce, olive oil, and wine.
During the Late Roman era, fish sauce, called liquamen flos, was a popular flavor enhancer, different from the more commonly known garum.
The analysis suggests that this fish sauce was mainly made from anchovies (Engraulis encrasicolus), with some sardines occasionally mixed in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Materials used in the construction of cargo
Residue analysis of the amphorae showed signs of grape derivatives, possibly used to add flavor or preserve the contents. Additionally, traces of animal products were found, adding to the complexity of the cargo.
The materials used to build the ship’s hull were carefully examined. Pine was used for the main parts, while harder types of wood like juniper, olive, and laurel were used for assembly. Vine branches and other plants were used as filler and to protect the cargo during the voyage.
Based on the research, it’s likely that the ship set sail from the Cartagena area in southeastern Spain, traveling along the trade routes of the Western Mediterranean. This thought is supported by the petrographic analysis of the amphorae, which suggests a link to the Cartagena region.

Do you have any specific interests u wanna rant about?
(Im in the mood to read like paragraphs about theories or explanations or something thats hella specific and random idk )
oh my!! yes!
this might be an unpopular take and perhaps cancellable but its my opinion and im open to revise it if im convinced: i am totally against cosmetic surgery specifically for aesthetics and beauty standards.
i know as women we have the freedom to surgically ‘improve’ our features with however we seem apt but i think this has become quite harmful and toxic. do we not realize that beauty standards are not stagnant? that what we consider beautiful might be nothing but average in a few years? that centuries before, the standard of beauty was totally different? therefore, why must we cage ourselves in such standards that are unhealthy and harmful? why do most women look manufactured and similar? why must we worship a single type of aesthetic nose and lip when beauty is subjective? also notice how some cosmetic doctors dont even undergo such surgeries because they know its harmful!!! so many women shared that rhinoplasty has some bad side effects and lip fillers make ur lips super dry!
i dont think the world becomes a better place if we were all the same, and besides, these standards probably only exist and are upheld in a bubble called social media. in different parts of the world, there is no such thing. women can have hair and come out without make up. i was thinking, would we women be so pressured to feel beautiful if social media didnt exist as an extension of our identity? would we be subjecting ourselves into insecurity if we didnt rely much of social validation on the internet?
back then, ppl had unique faces, so full of personality and eccentric features. i feel like we buried what makes humanity so diverse and special. is it not possible as women to be freed of social constructs? men dont even participate as much in cosmetic surgery, why should we? its unfair that we go through hazardous beauty standards while a man in 2025 who looks like hes still stuck in 2003 is called hot. women are being institutionalized in this unrealistic standard that mostly caters to the eyes of men and i hardly believe that u do a lot of work solely because you want to feel better. i believe a hint of patriarchal validation contributes to this.
the year 2025 has shown that some celebrities and influencers are gradually adopting the clean look with less fillers and make up. maybe because men are now saying “i want a natural woman.” which is maddening. in a few years, the beauty standard will change again. and influencers will start to flex that they didnt do any work on their faces, that this is all natural, all organic. what a load of shit. a futile attempt at reaching the pinnacle of beauty by delusional manmade standards.
we’re women. we’re privileged enough to wrinkle, to have hair growing from our pits, hair is supposed to be in those intimate parts. our noses (i believe) are shaped from acclimatizing in the weather. our jaws are made to bite. you are a product of humanity, why should we attempt at being a god through a scalpel???

Wait come back those tags on your last post about mystic sickness I love those ideas!! :0 /lh /gen
Do you have more ideas? /nf
-☆star anon☆
OH BOY DO I HAVE IDEAS!
I bet the topic has been touched upon many times before, but I personally adore the idea of the boys getting some type of mystic sickness - either by catching some weird yokai bug or just from overusing their mystics to the point they get overloaded.
The following are just base ideas so anyone is free to say their own additions!
For Raph, I’d imagine he just makes a ton of copies of himself - but these copies aren’t fully developed, and range wildly in size. He doesn’t posses control over them as well, so they’re basically running wild all over the place (which is Not Good considering how strong they are.) Luckily they’re easily poofed, but another keeps taking the place of any that are dealt with.
For Donnie, I think literally any thought that crosses his mind manifests itself into reality. Like Raph, he can’t control what it is or what it’ll do, but unlike Raph his constructs are more often just space fillers - in that, the Lair gets very very crowded very very quickly. For the more active constructs he thinks up - basically he Kevin McCallister’s the Lair on accident, so pretty much everywhere he’s even near is automatically booby trapped.
For Mikey- poor Mikey is overwhelmed to the extreme. I see him as having the most innate mysticism, so it stands to reason that he’d be very affected by an illness like this. Portals to different timelines open in rapid succession all around him, he can’t make get his feet back to the ground due to continuously floating upward, and sooooo many burning gold chains cover the place. Luckily it’s not as painful or fatally dangerous as a focused sustained usage of his more powerful abilities is, but it’s still dangerous in its own right.
For Leo, like I mentioned in those tags, I love the idea of him simply being unable to exist in a single space for longer than like, a second. If the space exists, there’s a chance he shows up there. He’s just flitting in and out of space really. He finds it more annoying than anything, but it’s also terrifying! Especially considering the types of places he has the potential to show up in. (But yes he does end up in at least one person’s found footage by accident lol)
The others (Splinter, April, Draxum, etc) would absolutely be trying to wrangle the boys while this occurs.

Polarity in relationships is the spark that occurs between two opposing energies: masculine and feminine. Gender does not affect whether you have masculine or feminine energy.

(Competitive Sensory Play) Armed robbery is typically motivated by the desire to obtain money, which is then often used to purchase drugs; however, some armed robbers engage in the crime with the intention of boosting their status within their peer group. Whatever the motivation, the act is classified as a violent crime, because armed robberies can result in injury and sometimes death to victims.
(Agreggator Model) Some common kinds of robbers include first offenders, persistent thieves and hustlers, drug addicts, habitual robbers, and skillful planners.
(Graffiti Art Galleries) Raiding is a military tactic or operational warfare mission which has a specific purpose. Raiders do not capture and hold a location, but quickly retreat to a previously defended position before enemy forces can respond in a coordinated manner or formulate a counter-attack. A raiding group may consist of combatants specially trained in this tactic, such as commandos, or as a special mission assigned to any regular troops. Raids are often a standard tactic in irregular warfare, employed by warriors, guerrilla fighters, or other irregular military forces. Some raids are large, for example, the Sullivan Expedition.
The purposes of a raid may include: to capture specific key persons; to gather intelligence.

TOÜSSAINT'S BULLET CHESS INFLUENCED ART CURATORS (FARMLAND RENTAL PROPERTIES)
Preparation: The first step in creating such a good repertoire is to understand that memorization comes in a distant second to an appreciation of the ideas behind your opening moves
Prophylaxis*: In the game of chess, prophylaxis or a prophylactic move is a move that stops the opponent from taking action in a certain area for fear of some type of reprisal. Prophylactic moves are aimed at not just improving one's position but preventing the opponent from improving their own.
Pre-Move: This is when you make your move *before* the opponent has taken their turn; Helps with Time, Creates psychological pressure
Tactical Vision: Tactics are maneuvers that take advantage of short-term opportunities. They can support your strategy and/or destroy your opponent's plan and ideas; Tactical and combinational themes must be mastered
Opening Game: A chess opening is the group of initial moves of a chess game. In addition to referring to specific move sequences, the opening is the first phase of a chess game,
Middle Game: The middlegame in chess is the portion of the game in between the opening and the endgame, though there is no clear line between the opening and middlegame or between the middlegame and endgame. The theory on the middlegame is less developed than the opening or endgame.
Development: It is important to develop your whole Army. Note the word whole. Some players get a few pieces out and launch an attack. The necessity for quick development depends on the type of Center that exists. For example, if the center is closed, development is not necessarily a priority because the enemy pieces won't be able to break into your position. However, if the center is open, development takes on a great significance
Initiative**: The side that forces its ideas on a reacting opponent; Is making believable threats or responding to threats
Dynamic Advantage: A dynamic Advantage centers around temporary items like development, initiative, and more active pieces. Make sure you make use of this Dynamic Plus before the opponent catches up in development, the initiative runs dry, or you're active pieces are exchanged
Compensation: If you give up something (space, structural weakness, squares, material) and get nothing in return you are in trouble. However, if you give up the same imbalances (space, structural weakness, squares, material) in exchange for different types of imbalance you are said to have compensation for whatever it is you gave up
Material Advantage: A material advantage goes to the player who has more and/or stronger pieces.
End Game: In chess and chess-like games, the endgame is the stage of the game when a few pieces are left on the board. The line between middlegame and endgame is often not clear and may occur gradually or with the quick exchange of a few pairs of pieces.
TOÜSSAINT'S PHARMACOECONOMICS
A pharmacopoeia, pharmacopeia, or pharmacopoea (from the obsolete typography pharmacopƓia, meaning "drug-making"), in its modern technical sense, is a book containing directions for the identification of compound medicines, and published by the authority of a government or a medical or pharmaceutical society. Descriptions of preparations are called monographs. In a broader sense it is a reference work for pharmaceutical drug specifications. Although older writings exist which deal with herbal medicine, the major initial work in the field is considered to be the Edwin Smith Papyrus in Egypt, Pliny's pharmacopoeia. Pharmacoeconomics refers to the scientific discipline that compares the value of one pharmaceutical drug or drug therapy to another. It is a sub-discipline of health economics. A pharmacoeconomic study evaluates the cost (expressed in monetary terms) and effects (expressed in terms of monetary value, efficacy or enhanced quality of life) of a pharmaceutical product. Pharmacoeconomic studies serve to guide optimal healthcare resource allocation, in a standardized and scientifically grounded manner.

Coffee and Cigarette Documentary This 11-vignette film focuses on the human interactions that happen while partaking in the everyday indulgence of coffee and cigarettes. Featuring well-known actors and other artists as themselves or some version thereof, the film highlights the nuances and subtle hostilities that can be a part of seemingly normal conversations. Bill Murray waits on the Wu-Tang Clan, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits get on each others' nerves and Jack and Meg White of the White Stripes discuss Nikola Tesla.

The Belgian banking system has long been known to be a sophisticated and liberal banking system. Standardized customer account numbers for all financial intermediaries are widely used, and internet and phone banking are well developed. There are no restrictions on the free movement of capital and regulatory requirements are minimal. There is a particularly wide and flexible range of loan products offered to companies, with no discrimination as to the nationality of the investor. There are also many options available when it comes to raising risk capital. Thanks to an efficient branch network, there is a large number of Belgian and foreign banks servicing the country. Due to the sheer volume of international business carried out in Belgium, more than half of all banking transactions are international financial transactions. The majority of Belgian banks also have an extensive international network based on strategically located branches in the main financial markets around the world. A number of the 106 banks located in Belgium feature prominently in the top 100 international banks. The combined assets of the three main banks (Fortis, ING and KB Group) amount to $370 billion. All credit institutions (banks and savings banks) operate under the same legal framework and are monitored by the same supervisory authorities. The Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission (BFAC) supervises the activities of financial institutions, including banks, investment funds, stock brokers, finance companies and holding companies. As a result of the deregulation of the banking sector in 1993, credit institutions have been able to offer all financial services, as defined by European legislation. The BFAC supervises the financial sector in close coordination with the National Bank of Belgium (Belgium’s central bank). The main bankcard used in Belgium is the Mister Cash-Bancontact debit card, issued along with a PIN number upon opening a bank account in Belgium. In order to open an account, proof of identity, such as a passport, is required. The Bancontact card can be used to withdraw cash at ATMs, and to pay for almost anything in Belgium, from a newspaper, parking meter, gasoline, or a loaf of bread from the bakery. Credit options are also available on application. All bank ATMs in Belgium accept the Bancontact card; some accept MasterCard, Visa and other credit and debit cards. The major credit cards are generally accepted in stores, restaurants, and hotels.
AgBank and Options Exchange: Since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, ABC has been formed and abolished several times. On July 10, 1951, two banks of the Republic of China, Farmers Bank of China and Cooperation Bank, merged to form the Agricultural Cooperation Bank, which ABC regards as its ancestor. However, the bank was merged into People's Bank of China, the central bank in 1952. The first bank bearing the name Agricultural Bank of China was founded in 1955, but it was merged into the central bank in 1957. In 1963 the Chinese government formed another agricultural bank which was also merged into the central bank two years later. Today's Agricultural Bank of China was founded in February 1979. As the People's Bank of China began spinning off its commercial banking functions after 1978, ABC's focus on providing farmers with financial services increased.[10]: 225  ABC was restructured to form a holding company called Agricultural Bank of China Limited.[11] It was listed on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges in July 2010.[12] Founded in 1973, the CBOE Options Exchange is the world's largest options exchange with contracts focusing on individual equities, indexes, and interest rates.
Bishop's College School or BCS is an English-language non-profit independent boarding prep school in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada for students in Grades 7 to 12.[2][3][4][5] Founded in 1836, BCS is the fifth oldest private school in Canada.[6][2][7] BCS has the highest endowment per student of any independent school in Canada.[8][9] Seven BCS people have been named Rhodes Scholars.[10][11] A royal charter was granted in 1853 from Queen Victoria for Bishop's College when BCS was the constituent junior division. The school was recognized as the "Eton of Canada" initially by the first Governor General of Canada, Lord Monck on a visit in 1864.[12][13][5] It locates at the heart the historic Eastern Townships and near New England. The school is recognized as a Quebec cultural heritage site in the Répertoire du patrimoine culturel du Québec.[14][15]
Grey collar – Workforce that is not classified in blue collar nor white collar. It is occasionally used to describe elderly individuals working beyond the age of retirement, as well as those occupations incorporating elements of both blue- and white-collar.
Gold collar – Refers to children of wealthy parents working jobs they normally would not be qualified for. Alternatively refers to highly-skilled professionals in high-demand fields such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, and scientists.
JAVA ANGELINA FRANC (Central African Franc CFA): Petrodollars are crude oil export revenues denominated in U.S. dollars. The term gained currency in the mid-1970s when soaring oil prices generated large trade and current account surpluses for oil exporting countries. A currency peg is a policy in which a national government or central bank sets a fixed exchange rate for its currency with a foreign currency or a basket of currencies and stabilizes the exchange rate between countries. The global coffee industry is worth $495.50 billion as of 2023. The United States contributes $95.58 billion to this total, which is more than any other country in the world.
Athletics Training: The force-velocity curve is a physical representation of the inverse relationship between force and velocity. Understanding the interaction between force and velocity and their influences on exercise selection is vital for any strength and conditioning professional. For example, it is essential that a strength and conditioning coach understands the physiological and biomechanical differences between prescribing a one-repetition maximum (1RM) deadlift and five-repetition maximum (5RM) jump squats – as one will produce higher forces and lower velocities than the other. Failure to understand the relationship and its importance will likely lead to less than optimal training prescription.
Opportunity Costs represent the potential benefits that an individual, investor, or business misses out on when choosing one alternative over another. Because opportunity costs are unseen by definition, they can be easily overlooked.
Game Theory has a wide range of applications, including psychology, evolutionary biology, war, politics, economics, and business. Despite its many advances, game theory is still a young and developing science.
Meat Source: Wild game is surprisingly leaner, relatively higher in Omega-3 fatty acids, lower in cholesterol (due to the low saturated fat content), as well as devoid of steroids, antibiotics and other additives because of their natural origin and active ways of life. When compared to domestic animals such as cows and chickens, game meats have an average of 4.3% fat while their domesticated competitors typically have a fat content of 25-30%. Not just any fat either. We’re talking a lot less saturated fat (aka the bad fat) and a much higher proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids (aka the good fat). Additionally, the protein, vitamin, and mineral composition of wild game stands to compete with its domesticated competitors, especially when it comes to zinc and iron. This is due to their natural diet of wild vegetation as opposed to grain and corn. (Wild Turkey, Deer, Duck, and Jackrabbit)
Alkaline D-Aspartic Acid Gastronomy: D-Aspartic Acid is an amino acid that is used to make proteins in the body and is a part of several metabolic reactions. One systematic review found that there was evidence of D-Aspartic Acid boosting testosterone levels in male animals. Some foods that are high in D-Aspartic Acid include: Poultry, Meat, Eggs, Dairy, Rice, Oats & Barley Donut Flour, Peaches, Dried Apricots, Nectarines, Cherries, Plums, and Bananas. The alkaline diet is based on the idea that replacing acid-forming foods with alkaline foods can improve your health.
Spinach: Specifically, researchers led by Maria Parr — a professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at the Freie UniversitĂ€t in Berlin, Germany — examined the effect of ecdysterone on athletic performance and muscle strength. EcdysteroneTrusted Source is the main compound in spinach extract. It is a phytosteroid — that is, a steroid that occurs naturally in plants and belongs to a class called phytosterols, which are “structurally similar to cholesterol.” Previous studiesTrusted Source in mammals have shown that ecdysteroids have a wide range of beneficial effects. In the 1980s, researchers dubbed ecdysterone the “Russian secret,” following suspicions that Russian Olympic athletes were using it as a performance boosting supplement.
Salmon as Unsaturated Fat Protein: The fatty-acid-binding proteins (FABPs) are a family of transport proteins for fatty acids and other lipophilic substances such as eicosanoids and retinoids.[1][2] These proteins are thought to facilitate the transfer of fatty acids between extra- and intracellular membranes.[3] Some family members are also believed to transport lipophilic molecules from outer cell membrane to certain intracellular receptors such as PPAR.[4] The FABPs are intracellular carriers that “solubilize” the endocannabinoid anandamide (AEA), transporting AEA to the breakdown by FAAH, and compounds that bind to FABPs block AEA breakdown, raising its level. The cannabinoids (THC and CBD) are also discovered to bind human FABPs (1, 3, 5, and 7) that function as intracellular carriers, as THC and CBD inhibit the cellular uptake and catabolism of AEA by targeting FABPs.[5] Competition for FABPs may in part or wholly explain the increased circulating levels of endocannabinoids reported after consumption of cannabinoids.[6] Levels of fatty-acid-binding protein have been shown to decline with ageing in the mouse brain, possibly contributing to age-associated decline in synaptic activity.

Hutskrat, the Homesteader Pokemon Hutskrat has constructed an entire house on its back out of driftwood. Due to its light weight, it can still swim and move at a surprising pace on land.
Types: Normal Ability: Weather the Elements — This Pokemon's mobile home protects it from damage caused and boosted by weather, and gives it benefits of weather as though it was the proper type. Hidden Ability: Unaware
Hutskrat is the final stage of the Zigzagoon-like for Manaka, physically defensive as a counterpart to Calicozy's high attack. Hutskrat attempts to find a niche these early mons usually don't get via Weather the Elements, being both a flexible gap filler for Weather teams and a wall that can ignore opposing weather.
One of the first gyms is an Acid Rain team, which will use Hutskrat to break up its Poison types, using Aqua Jet and Bite to fight back against Ground and Psychic mons, and having its one weakness complemented by Poison resisting Fighting.

Omg about the ai fics i didnt realize that a few of these acc were using ai and it made me feel really inadequate as an author for not being able to post or write as much as them and then i read one and i was like hey wait a minute this doesnt seem right. Then it all clicked and i got really mad
Write your own shit. If english isnt your first language or you're bad at grammar then... imrove. You wont get better at it using ai.
I don't understand people who forego the process of creating and growing.
Genuinely! This was my exact thought process. There was a time when it didn't even occur to me that people would post AI fic. After all, FanFic is inherently transformative. The ability to share your scenarios and communally engage in ideas is part of what makes fanwork so great.
Then this author, doing a daily posting challenge, dropped a bombshell in their Author's Notes. They'd been using AI to "help" because English isn't their first language... which felt like a betrayal since English is not my first language either. It was so frustrating. Beta readers exist! Fandom is a community, and people will have your back if you simply reach out and ask if somebody more experienced in English will read your work before you post it.
I use your ask to post a list of things to look out for. None of these should be treated as a "gotcha" since LLMs are trained by scraping real people's writing. However, since LLMs are calculation models, they use predictive wording and structure, and it's possible to clue into something being AI-written.
[Edit for the people with no reading comprehension: "things to look out for" =/= "here is irrefutable evidence of AI usage!". I'm talking about LLM generation patterns.]
1. Overuse of Similes
Almost every author will use similes. However, AI over-relies on them and typically uses them every other sentence. You will see many of the same similes word-for-word repeated across AI-written fics.
“He walked in like he owned the place.”
“His voice cracked like glass under pressure.”
“The silence was heavy, like a wet blanket.”
“The anger surged through him like a tidal wave.”
2. Overly Formal Dialogue
Some AUs make this type of wording far more fitting. However, both Tyler and Josh speak in an informal Americanized way, using conjunctions and filler words (uh, like, you know).
“I am not sure what you mean by that, but I would appreciate some clarification,” he said.
Instead of the more natural: “The heck are you talking about?”
3. Dramatic Em-Dash Constructions
I love a good em-dash and hate how AI uses them too. Many good writers use em-dashes since they convey information differently from semicolons. But LLMs attempt to mimic emotional fragmentation in a way that's supposed to create emphasis, but often comes across as unnecessary.
“He was trying—trying—to make things right.”
“He couldn’t breathe—no, wouldn’t breathe—until he knew Josh was okay.”
“It was over—everything they’d fought for—gone.”
4. Generic Reactions
Again, since LLMs scrape data from human-written FanFic, they emulate common reactions that real people use. However, like with similes, they tend to overuse them in ways that don't always fit the context.
He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
His heart beat hard in his chest.
His jaw clenched.
A shiver ran down his spine.
5. Repetitive Sentence Structures
Writing is like music. You have cadence and flow. But AI relies heavily on a certain sentence rhythm, like "[Character] did [action], [adverb/adjective] doing [something else]." Also, the overuse of "something" and stilted one-sentence lines, and having one-line paragraphs.
Tyler turned away, shoulders trembling, his breath hitching in his throat. He followed, footsteps echoing, his heart pounding like a war drum.
Something about the day felt different. Promising. Not just another cycle of practices and performance but a branching path leading somewhere else. Somewhere new. Something
 exciting.
But no. Not yet. Not now.
6. Emotional Beats that Don't Land
AI likes to insert intense emotional reactions without proper build-up or payoff, creating tonal whiplash.
Josh glanced at him—and suddenly, his soul shattered into a thousand pieces of longing.
7. Stacked Descriptions
I keep emphasising this, but plenty of human authors do this too. Still, AI often layers adjectives and adverbs in a way that reads as cluttered and devoid of subtlety. It should not be seen as an indicator of LLM usage by itself.
His dark, glistening hazel eyes pierced through the dim, hazy light of the cramped, dust-choked room.
My final note is that none of these should be taken as irrefutable indications of AI use. I do not want to engender hostility. However, as somebody with access to an AI detector that's used in academic fields, I can assure you... There are authors in the tag who are posting heavily AI-written fics. Many of them are doing it in a disingenuous/deceptive manner, too. I do ask you, however, not to harass any person who might be using AI! It is far more effective to simply not engage with their work.
As always, please feel free to vent in my inbox. I like to know I am not alone in my frustration.

Hey!!! Any tips for those who just started writing? Maybe something you wished to know when you began?
Sure! But this is what works for me so ofc it's not universal. The experience of writing is a very little universal, so take this with a grain of salt.
-Don't start what you're not sure you can finish, don't know how to make it finish, don't know how it finishes (yes it's two different things), don't know if you'll finish. NEVER*. Let it go or work your mind on it until you have at least 70% of it "ready", (with the 30% left being exclusively linker scenes between core scenes, stuff you can make up on the spot) and then you can start.
-Writing is 4 parts thinking-daydreaming and 1 part typing. It's best not to make them overlap too much.
-No "I'll think about it when I get there". Building scenes while writing them is exhausting, stressing and very time consuming. Not to mention the type-delete-type-delete cycle.
-Not every scene can have a place in the story. Yes it can be the cutest you have come up with or your favorite filler moment or whatever, but if its only purpose is to be cute, or worse it risks to derail the story in a cul-de-sac because of its implications... leave it out.
-This is mostly for before starting to write. Read a lot. You found some authors whose style you've fallen in love with? Study their style. Understand what you like of them and why, what expedients do they use to convey specific emotion/set up moods/introduce a sudden event, stuff like that. But don't imitate them, learn from them.
-Dialogues: imagine them like a movie scene in your head. Daydream them. Voice tones, gestures, and all. Would they really talk like that? Is it realistic? Does it make sense? Or does it feel like a theatrical piece? Because it's easy to make conversations fall into the theatrical piece.
-It's okay and natural for your first work(s) to suck ass. You only get better by writing more and more and more, but you also have to be self-critical; both in the "this sucks. Delete." and the "this can be done better. Redo." at the same time, and both in the constructive sense. Getting better takes time, and lots of reading (again), so be patient.
-It's okay to delete that 300 brick of words you sweated on weeks ago, if it doesn't fit. And the one you wrote yesterday, and the one you just finished writing and just realized it doesn't fit. It's okay. It's not wasted time, it's a possibility you explored and made sure it wasn't good.
-And always reread the story you're writing while you're writing it! Or you risk falling into inconsistencies, which I often do because I myself often forget to reread and I always curse myself when it happens.
-Don't be lazy and don't be sloppy. Be accurate but not pedantic. Some things can be left vague.
-Don't specify things the reader can "perceive" on their own through the context.
-PERSONAL ADVICE. If you want, let's say, to describe a situation inside of the story, better not doing it in a short paragraph. If possible, make the story itself show it. Again, make the reader "perceive" and guess it through details scattered around. Unless it's something so big or specific that it does need a paragraph for itself. But be careful where you place it, or you risk breaking the flow of the narration.
-Please for the love of every god avoid stuff like "the brunette" "the taller man" "the blue haired woman" UNLESS you're talking about characters the main chars don't know. Especially not for established relationships. In order to be honest I also have to specify this is a pet peeve of mine so if instead you do like this kind of things, ignore what I said and go for them. De gustibus.
-If you see shit, even if you've already posted the story, fix it.
-This is a personal thing of mine, but I find it waaaay better to write chronologically, instead of the scenes I like the most first and later what's in between. Be patient, you'll get to them sooner or later.
-Do NOT put a story aside to start another you just came up with. Either you accept to work on both at the same time, or you finish the first and only then start the second. BE. PATIENT. AO3 is stuffed of unfinished "chaptered" fics because their authors kept starting a new wip abandoning the precedent, and so on and so on and so on... like one of my fav author has done too many times... When you start a wip, you make a promise to it: of taking care of it and bringing it to its realization. DO NOT START WHAT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FINISH*. Please.
-Then of course if working on it gets too stressful or is hurting you for some reasons, that's a whole different thing and you should abandon it.
I repeat. this is what works for ME. Different people will tell you different things and they're all correct at the same time. These are only suggestions, despite my imperative tone (sorry😅).
Hope this helps!
*if you're past the first quarter of the story. I too did abandoned two wips after 1k each because I realized too late that they weren't going anywhere. But 1k and never posted, not a "15k, 4/?"

Okay, so I have to ask what you think of Mayuri's weird computer-organ-construct from the Fade to Black movie. How does it work? Is it one of those surreal movies-only choices, or does it appear in the filler episodes somewhere? I don't think so, but I am not as up on the interior decorating choices of the Twelfth Division as you are.
ippoddity: I think that version of the computer only features in Fade to Black, but I don’t think it’s necessarily a super special movie-only choice. Honestly, Mayuri probably changes up the peripheral hardware for his computer every month. His research is proprietary and he doesn't want anyone else using it or accessing it. If you can’t even figure out how to type anything into the computer, then you can’t steal it! Also, the lab gets blown up multiple times anyway, so nothing sticks around for long. Every time Mayuri upgrades his own hardware and peripherals, the lab gets upgraded too. The 12th computer is a living module whose parts he switches out on the regular. It’s an “organ” on multiple levels. It just so happens that at one point, Mayuri decided to take it extremely literally and it took the form of a musical organ, as well as a computer organ, and a biological organ.
Imagine being some poor lackey in the 12th who is constantly trying to keep up with their ever-changing workstation though.
Tumblr media
“You’re telling me I have to learn how to play the piano this month??”
--
whipplefilter: In addition to being an organ^3, I'm sure its construction adheres to some kind of arcane numerological pattern. I'm thinking about the organ at Tsukiji Hongwanji, because Buddhist temples are not typically outfitted with organs:
Tumblr media
Regarding the Tsukiji Hongwanji organ: "The pipes on either side form six mountains that represent the six Chinese characters ć—ăƒ»ç„Ąăƒ»é˜żăƒ»ćŒ„ăƒ»é™€ăƒ»ä» (na mu a mi da butsu). There are 48 pipes in the center of each side, and they represent the 48 Vows which is a central sutra of Jodo Shinshu" (matcha-jp).
Which is. SOOOOOO EXTRAAAA! And Mayuri, of course, is also that extra. Therefore, the organ must clearly be an ornate way of inscribing lab secrets somewhere inscrutable yet in plain sight. What is the numerological pattern? I mean, that's between Mayuri and his organ... and probably Nemu. Maybe it's code for "fuck Urahara Kisuke." Maybe it's the Gotei equivalent of the nuclear codes (not for the Kidou Cannon, which is mere child's play).

Preventing Defects and Imperfections in Welded Joints
Tumblr media
Welding is a critical process used across industries to join metals in the construction of buildings, bridges, automobiles, aircraft, pipelines and many other structures. However, welding is not a perfect process and various types of defects can occur, both internally and externally in the welded metal. These welding defects are imperfections that deviate from acceptable tolerances, weakening the joint and potentially leading to catastrophic failures. Understanding the common types of welding defects, their causes, and preventive measures is crucial for ensuring the integrity and reliability of welded structures. In this article, we will explore the major categories of welding defects, delve into specific defect types, examine their causes, and discuss strategies for preventing their occurrence.
Types of Welding Defects
Welding defects can be broadly classified into two main categories:
External defects: Discontinuities that are visible on the surface of the weld metal
Internal defects: Imperfections that occur within the weld metal and are not readily visible
External Welding Defects
Some of the most common external welding defects include:
Cracks: Fractures that form in the weld metal or heat-affected zone due to thermal stresses, hydrogen embrittlement, or solidification shrinkage
Undercut: A groove-like defect along the edges of the weld bead, reducing the cross-sectional area and weakening the joint
Overlap: Excessive weld metal that flows onto the base material without proper fusion
Spatter: Small droplets of molten metal that solidify on the base material or surrounding area, affecting aesthetics and requiring additional cleaning
Internal Welding Defects
Internal welding defects are not readily visible and often require advanced inspection techniques to detect. Some common internal defects are:
Porosity: Gas bubbles or cavities that form within the weld bead due to trapped gas during solidification
Slag inclusion: Retention of solid materials, metallic or non-metallic, within the weld metal
Lack of fusion: Insufficient bonding between the base material and weld metal or between successive weld beads
Incomplete penetration: The weld does not fully extend through the thickness of the base material, leaving a gap or void
Causes of Welding Defects
Several factors can contribute to the formation of welding defects:
Poor welding technique: Incorrect welding parameters, improper electrode angle, or inadequate travel speed
Incorrect welding parameters: Unsuitable voltage, current, or wire feed speed settings
Contamination: Presence of impurities such as oil, grease, rust, or moisture on the base metal or filler material
Inadequate shielding gas coverage: Insufficient or improper shielding gas flow, leading to atmospheric contamination
Improper joint preparation: Incorrect joint design, poor fit-up, or inadequate cleaning of the joint surfaces
Preventing Welding Defects
To minimize the occurrence of welding defects and ensure high-quality welds, several preventive measures can be implemented:
Proper Welding Technique
Maintain the correct electrode angle and travel speed
Adjust welding parameters based on the material thickness and joint configuration
Ensure proper weld bead placement and overlap
Material Preparation
Thoroughly clean the base metal and filler material to remove contaminants
Ensure proper joint preparation, including beveling and fit-up
Preheat the base metal when required to reduce thermal stresses
Shielding Gas Management
Use the appropriate shielding gas composition and flow rate for the specific welding process and material
Regularly check and maintain the gas delivery system to prevent leaks or contamination
Ensure adequate gas coverage, especially in windy or drafty environments
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration
Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper functioning
Calibrate welding machines and monitoring devices to maintain accurate settings
Replace worn or damaged components, such as contact tips and gas nozzles
Welder Training and Qualification
Provide comprehensive training to welders on proper techniques, parameter selection, and defect prevention
Ensure welders are qualified and certified according to relevant standards and codes
Encourage continuous learning and skill development through ongoing training and education
Implementing Quality Control Measures
Establish and follow welding procedures and specifications
Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to detect and evaluate defects
Implement corrective actions and process improvements based on defect analysis and root cause identification
Detecting and Correcting Welding Defects
Despite preventive measures, welding defects may still occur. Early detection and appropriate corrective actions are essential to maintain the integrity of welded structures. Some common methods for detecting and correcting welding defects include:
Visual Inspection
Examine the weld surface for visible defects such as cracks, undercut, overlap, or spatter
Use magnifying lenses or borescopes for closer inspection of hard-to-reach areas
Document and evaluate the severity of defects based on acceptance criteria
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Employ NDT techniques such as radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), or dye penetrant testing (PT) to detect internal defects
Interpret NDT results and determine the acceptability of defects based on applicable standards and specifications
Perform additional testing or sectioning for further evaluation if necessary
Corrective Actions
Remove defects by grinding, chipping, or gouging, ensuring complete removal of the defective material
Re-weld the affected area using proper techniques and parameters
Perform post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) when required to relieve residual stresses and improve mechanical properties
Re-inspect the repaired area to confirm the effectiveness of the corrective action
Advancements in Welding Technology
Welding technology continues to evolve, with advancements aimed at improving weld quality, productivity, and safety. Some notable developments include:
Automated welding processes: Robotic welding systems and computer-controlled welding machines enhance precision, consistency, and efficiency, reducing human error and variability.
Advanced welding consumables: New filler materials with improved mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and weldability enable welding of challenging materials and in demanding environments.
Real-time monitoring and control systems: Sensors, data acquisition systems, and machine learning algorithms enable real-time monitoring of welding parameters, defect detection, and process optimization, leading to improved weld quality and reduced rework.
Conclusion
Preventing defects and imperfections in welded joints is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of welded components across various industries. By understanding the common types of welding defects, their causes, and implementing effective preventive measures, welding professionals can significantly reduce the occurrence of defects and achieve high-quality welds.

Concrete Blocks - Manufacturing, Classification & Uses
Concrete blocks are nowadays replacing bricks in masonry construction, notably in many multi-storeyed buildings. They are available in three types namely solid, hollow and cellular, widely used for the construction of filler walls and boundary walls in RC framework.
Concrete blocks are usually made in large sizes to make blockwork faster and consume less cement in joints than the brickwork. If the percentage of the voids is more than 25%, then they are hollow blocks and blocks with voids less than 25% are only perforated blocks.
The cellular concrete blocks are generally referred to as lightweight aerated concrete blocks. All these blocks are extensively used for compound walls and non-loadbearing walls.
Hollow blocks are specially made for loadbearing walls, which are useful in reducing a dead load of masonry in buildings. Blocks can also be with cement and sand called cement-sand blocks or with cement and soil called soil-cement blocks which are of low strength and use for low-cost construction.
Manufacturing of Concrete Blocks
BIS recommends a fineness modulus of the combined aggregate between 3.6 to 4 and coarse aggregates used are of size 6 to 12 mm. Lean mixes up to 1:8 are generally used. Concrete mix for concrete blocks should not be richer than one part of the cement to six parts of the volume of combined aggregate.

Concrete blocks can be handmade and also machine-made. The cast block is then cured in a water tank or yard for at least 14 days (water need to be changed at least every 4 days).
After curing, the blocks are dried for 4 weeks before being used in masonry construction. They should be stacked with voids in the horizontal direction to facilitate easy drying, or they should be steam cured and dried.
The whole process allows the complete shrinkage of the block to take place they are laid on the wall, which is very important for strong walls.
Classification of Concrete Blocks
Hollow concrete blocks
Open and Closed cavity-type hollow concrete blocks are classified into three grades:
Grade A - They possess a minimum density of 1500 kg/m³ and are used for load-bearing walls.
Grade B - They have a density below 1500 kg/m³ and used for load-bearing walls.
Grade C - These blocks are used for non-load bearing walls and have density more than 1000 kg/m³.
All these blocks are available in decorative facings like fluted facing to provide artistic effects.

Solid concrete blocks
They should be manufactured for specific concrete strength of 4.0 and 5.0 N/mmÂČ in 28 days. These blocks are used as load-bearing walls and have a density of not less than 1800 kg/mÂł.
Tumblr media
Paver blocks
These blocks are solid concrete blocks of different shapes specially made for exterior ground paving on sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, petrol pumps, industrial floors, etc.
Tumblr media
AAC Blocks
AAC blocks refer as Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Blocks. These blocks are also termed as light-weight hollow blocks.
They are prepared as solid blocks from cement, water and materials like ground sand, pulverized fly ash together with additives to aerate and stabilize the air bubbles.
The final result is a mixture of thick liquid which is then poured into steel moulds to form large cakes. After some time, the mixture sets and ready to cut into a serious of individual blocks of required size using taut steel wires.
Tumblr media
Very light blocks for partition and moderate-weight blocks for light loadbearing walls can be obtained from aac blocks. These blocks do not shrink on drying as the material is obtained by autoclaving.
The autoclaved cement product is crystalline, which is different from the product obtained by normal wet curing or by ordinary steam curing.
Sizes and Tolerances
The nominal dimensions of concrete block as per BIS are as follows:
 Length - 600, 500, 450 or 400 mm
 Height - 100 or 200 mm
 Width - 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250 or 300 mm
Actual sizes will be less than 10 mm of mortar thickness. For Concrete and Hollow concrete blocks nominal length 390 mm and height 190 mm. The thickness for loadbearing walls is 190 mm, compound walls 140 mm and for filler walls 90 mm.
These dimensions can easily be achieved in machine-made blocks than handmade blocks. The width of blocks use for load-bearing walls is 200 mm and for parapet or filler walls is 100 mm.
Points to Remember:
The mortar strength should not be more than the strength of the blocks. With high mortar strength, cracks will be less and very large, but with low mortar strength, cracks will be small and distributed.
We should use only blocks that are cured properly for at least 14 days and dried for 4 weeks to avoid shrinkage during construction.
We should not wet the blocks while placing in masonry construction.
Tumblr media
Freshly-made and uncured concrete blocks should never be allowed on the work.
Blockwork, particularly ordinary cement sand blocks and soil-cement blocks should not be used as loadbearing walls for concrete slab roof which favours to expand and contract with temperature.
The maximum difference in sizes allowed is ±5 mm in length and ±3 mm in height and width.
They should be protected from rains while being stored as they absorb moisture by wetting and shrinking on drying.
The main disadvantage of concrete blocks is shrinkage due to the movement of moisture content which is not present in bricks. As these blocks are much larger than bricks, any foundation movement will cause blockwork to crack more than the brickwork.

Writing Habits
My eternal thanks @mjparkerwriting for this lovely tag and @serenanymph for this here one!
Rules: Bold/color the things that you relate to and then tag some people to play.
I write: daily | most days | a few times a week | a few times a month | random
I write most often: when I first get up | later in the morning | afternoon | evening | the wee hours of the night | whenever
In one sitting, I tend to write: a few sentences at a time | a few hundred words | a few thousand words | a complete chapter/section no matter how long | an outline | whatever comes
I tend to write scenes: in chronological order with no skipping | mostly in order but with some filler/skipping | whatever scene I feel like | who knows what’s gonna come out
The things that come easiest to me are: dialogue | description of senses | description of action | description of characters | exposition | other
I tend to write: on a phone | on a laptop | in a notebook | on whatever paper I can find | with speech to text | in the blood of my enemies | it doesn’t really matter to me | on paper first and then typed up | old school typewriter | on a computer
When I take a break from writing, it usually lasts: a few days | a few weeks | a few months | it’s kind of random
My favorite thing to do when I’m on a writing break is: recharge with other creative hobbies | read/consume other media | do something physical | catch up with old friends | work on my WIP in other ways like with playlists or art | other
In general, I think my writing habits are: pretty much what I need them to be | okay, but I’m working on making them better | non-existent | not great | i’m excited to develop them further | totally random | perfect for me

some more specific answers under the cut:
I write most often when the hyperfixation hits. I go through long stretches without working on my main WIP (six months plus) and then sudden bursts of productivity where I spend 4-10 hours a day on it.
Things that come easiest to me (other than dialogue and action) are internal monologue, sexual tension, banter (though that is just dialogue), worldbuilding details, pacing, symbolism, and plot itself. I'm good at seeing the symbolism and knowing what details I want to include, but actually putting it to words? Not nearly as elloquent as I would like it.
I do all my actual drafting on a laptop, but I use scrap paper, printer paper, my sketchbook, various notebooks, the margins of my lecture notes, the giant-ass whiteboards in my room, and the blood of my enemies on the bathroom mirror for all my worldbuilding and plot-construction.
What I do on a writing break depends on the kind of break. Did I just finish a project? Then it's time to focus on harp and martial arts. Am I warming up to get back into writing after a hiatus or taking an involuntary break due to writer's block? Then I read to get the inspo juices flowing (and hopefully absorb my favourite author's styles by osmosis). Do I need to let a draft sit for a few weeks but still have other things I could do WIP-wise? I do those other things. There is also the break where I let one WIP rest for a time and work on another instead.
The only writing habits I have are my tendency to write later in the day/night, posting my progress here, and the fact that the hyperfixation somehow does not consume my life when it hits. I still hang with friends, do martial arts, go for walks, and work; just all my free time alone is spent writing. My dream is to have a schedule but I need to learn how to better manage my chronic fatigue first.
