Tyler Owens x fem!reader
summary: you and your best friend, Tyler decided to test the waters and take your friendship to the next level, unbeknownst to the both of you that you’re in love with each other.
cw: MDNI (18+) smut (p in v)
The bar was hazy when Tyler walked into it, a line dance already in formation. He didn’t even want to be there, but he was trying to make himself actually get out there again. He hadn’t been on a date in what felt like ages, so he was a little rusty, but a few beers should have fixed that. Despite his looks, he wasn’t very good with the ladies. Any time he would try to flirt, it came off offensive or borderline sexist because he got a little too cocky. But this was his night. He was desperate to get laid, his hand no longer doing the job.
He made a beeline for the bar and ordered a beer, surveying the area for whoever he was going to take home for the night. There were a lot of pretty women and he was trying not to be picky. This was just to get him back out there. The sex didn’t have to be good and it certainly didn’t have to mean anything.
His eyes locked on a pretty blonde that was on the other side of the bar, barely visible through all of the dancing bodies. She was already staring him down, sipping on a drink with a straw and Tyler was wondering what else she was willing to suck on. He downed half of his beer and made a beeline for her, trying to go around the dancing crowd so as to not get caught in it.
But then he heard something, someone who stopped him in his tracks. He turned his head to the left and sure enough, there you were, arguing with someone like you always seemed to be doing.
You were beautiful. So much so that he couldn’t help but stare. You were dressed in a black tank top that was tucked into a pair of very short denim shorts and a pair of black cowboy boots were on your feet. Before he could stop himself, his feet were gaining a mind of their own as they carried him over to you.
He finally stood at your side, but you were paying him no attention, your argument with the stranger still going strong. You looked seconds away from pulling out your earrings and hitting the man. And as much as Tyler knew he should have stopped you, he kind of wanted to see you do it. You had a bad temper you never took out on anyone who didn’t deserve it.
“I don’t understand why you won’t just give me a chance,” the man said. That seemed to unleash something in you because you stepped closer to him, nothing but fire in your eyes. Tyler wasn’t a fan of how he still found you so hot when you got angry. The way your eyes would be filled with fire and your nose would twitch and your mouth would twist as you were trying to decide what you were going to say next.
There were so many times where he wanted to kiss you when he had done something to upset you. Clearly nothing had changed since he was staring directly at your mouth, watching your lips move. They were painted with a red gloss, making them even more inviting. But nothing was coming out of them. The place was loud but not loud enough to where he couldn’t hear what you were saying when you were only like a foot away from him.
“Maybe because you slapped my ass?” You replied, surely seconds away from beating this guy up. Tyler’s eyes widened, hurrying to stand beside you before he could stop himself.
“You did what?” He asked in shock.
“You bent over to grab a pool ball that fell off the table and you’re saying I wasn’t supposed to smack it?” Tyler cracked his knuckles, wanting to hit the guy himself.
“Yes,” you and Tyler replied in unison. You turned to him and he looked good. Almost too good. The scruff on his face did him well and the cowboy hat on top of his head looked far better than it should have. His white t-shirt clung to his body and you hated how much his jeans hugged his waist.
You wanted him, and bad. So much so that the man had been the starring lead in your fantasies that you had come up with every night before you went to bed. You had been in love with him for years, wondering why you hadn’t asked him out when you had the chance. He was so sweet and caring and you wished that you had been the one he had flirted with when he had a few drinks in him.
“And who are you?” Tyler asked, draping an arm over your shoulder. You loved when he got like this, all authoritative, taking control of the situation. If it had been up to you, you would have taken him right then and there.
“Who are you?” The man replied as it he had the right to be angry with either of you. Tyler felt the need to protect you, even though he knew you didn’t need saving. He just wanted to drape his arm over your shoulder to let everyone know you were his.
Well, that was what he wanted you to be. You had never gotten to that point and it was all his fault. He had been too afraid to make your friendship something more. He was stuck in the friendzone where he had put himself for years, kicking himself for not asking you out the first night he met you.
“I’m her boyfriend so I suggest you move along before I have Enrique throw you out.” You could take care of yourself just fine, but something about Tyler always jumping in to protect you always made you feel a little wet in your panties.
The man just muttered something under his breath before turning away, not wanting to get kicked out again. With him gone, you turned on your heel, heading back to the bar to order a much needed shot with Tyler hot on your heels.
Tyler couldn’t help but let his eyes drop to your ass, and watching it move as you walked in your tight shorts was torture to the man. He always found himself wanting to get a handful for himself, sliding his hands into your back pockets as he kissed you until you were breathless, slipping his tongue into your mouth. You’d let out a loud moan and he’d grab you by the backs of your legs, helping you wrap them around him-
You stopped at the bar and ordered a drink before turning to face Tyler as shots of tequila were set on the bar, as if the bartender could read your mind. You reached for both and handed one of them to your best friend.
“Drink up, Owens,” you nudged him and you both downed the shots, feeling it burn all the way down. You both slammed the empty glasses down on the bar and you eyed him, wondering what he would have said if you had invited him to the bathroom right that second.
There was something in his eyes that you couldn’t quite make out. A look that you didn’t recognize in any way, shape or form. They were soft and sweet, just like you remembered. In that moment, you could feel your anger towards him falling away. You could never be mad at him for too long, especially not when you looked into those beautiful green eyes and this time, you could tell that he wasn’t trying to use that to his advantage.
“Thank you for that,” you said, nodding your head towards where you both had just been. “And to thank you, I’m adding your drinks to my tab.”
“That’s real sweet, darlin’, but you don’t need to thank me.” That nickname always managed to make you absolutely melt, loving the way it fell from his lips so naturally. “Just your friendship is enough,” he winked.
“Oh, shut up,” you went to shove his shoulder, but he was quick to grab your hand, pressing a gentle kiss to it.
“Alright,” he took another sip of his beer. “Dance with me,” he said, tilting his head up a little.
“Dance with you?” You had no idea what he was talking about, wondering if he was expecting you to read his mind. If you had been able to do that, you definitely wouldn’t have been working at the bar part-time.
“Yeah,” he nodded, “Dance with me as your thank you.” He couldn’t be serious.
“Yeah, not happening,” you shook your head. One thing you didn’t do under any circumstances was dance. A ballet recital gone wrong when you were ten made you swear off the activity entirely, never wanting to be embarrassed like that again.
“No way.”
“Fine,” he took another sip of his beer. “Then I’ll just dance by myself.” He slowly headed to the dancefloor, giving you every opportunity to back out if you didn’t want to do it. His hand moved back, his palm facing you as he continued to head to the dance floor, wiggling his digits to get your attention.
You rolled your eyes even though his back was to you and reluctantly put your hand in his. Tyler pulled you out onto the makeshift dance floor and the two of you somehow ended up directly in the center. He was able to quickly pick up the routine while you were left to flounder, moving awkwardly because of your hands that were still attached.
You watched him move so effortlessly, feeling odd being right next to him since you were always there on the sidelines when he was a part of it. He’d smile at you as you sat at the bar, waving you over, but you always shook your head. But now that you were finally dancing with him, he was hoping that it could become a regular thing.
He liked the way your shoulders would brush when you moved the wrong way and the way you’d squeeze his hand to communicate that you were nervous. You turned the way that you thought you were supposed to go but ended up bumping into Tyler, nothing but a chuckle falling from his lips as he looked down at you.
“Follow me, okay?” He asked and you nodded. “Turn around.” You did as he asked and turned around, your back facing him. His hands slowly moved up to your waist, letting them make a home there. He had touched you there multiple times when he had hugged you, but this was entirely different. So close to the way you had wanted him to touch you, but not nearly enough.
“Do you trust me?” He asked, his lips right by the shell of your ear, sending a shiver down your spine. Of course you trusted him. Maybe more than you should have.
“Of course,” you responded with a nod.
“Follow my lead, darlin’.” It was as if he was trying to drive you crazy. Like he knew the exact effect he had on you. But he had too, right? This was all an elaborate way to get you to admit that you had feelings for him. Well, two could play that game.
You kept in rhythm with him, slowly but surely backing up to him, your ass right up against his crotch. You gingerly began to grind on the spot, resisting the urge to turn and see his reaction. You could tell he was enjoying it just by the way his fingers were digging into your waist.
You moved the two of you out of the way of the dancers and continued to grind on Tyler, your movements still slow, but harder now. You could hear his breathing pick up, feeling his nose brush your jaw, his breath on your neck sending another chill up your spin.
He never thought the two of you would be dancing like this, the movements so sensual and sexy. You knew exactly what you were doing and it was fucking unfair. He could feel his cock hardening and pretty soon, he wouldn’t be able to hide it anymore.
“This isn’t the right dance,” he chuckled.
“I know,” you nodded. “But don’t you like this more, Owens? I can feel you getting hard.” Just when you were going to really take it home, you were suddenly turned around, a gasp leaving your mouth at the sudden movement. Your hands landed on his chest and Tyler’s hands rested on your lower back, pulling you as close to him as possible.
You leaned closer to him, your lips brushing his and the man was convinced he was a goner. He could feel your gloss that had transferred to his own lips and wanted it other places, anywhere you could get your lips. He loved the idea of being covered in your kisses, the prints leaving your mark behind.
“Don’t start something you can’t finish, sugar,” he said, his voice low, raspy. And it was doing wonders for you. He was so hot and you were having a hard time not making a move anymore.
“Oh, I fully intend on finishing,” you responded, finally pressing your lips to his. His eyes widened at your actions, but he was quick to melt into you, his lips catching yours slowly.
His arms wrapped around your waist even tighter, pulling you as close to him as possible. Yours wrapped around his neck, your hands running through his hair at the back of his head.
Your head felt like it was swimming, his lips more soft than you could have ever imagined. He tasted like the beer he had been drinking, mixed with something else you couldn’t quite make out. It was sweet and sour.
You pulled away before it could get too heated and Tyler admired the lip gloss that had smeared across your face, very tempted to go back in for more. His thumb swiped across your cheek to help get rid of it, but that didn’t seem to help, only smearing it further.
The weight of what you had done was catching up to you. You had just kissed your best friend. You had just kissed your best friend and you liked it. You had only gotten a taste but now you wanted more. All of him. You wanted to finally make your fantasies a reality.
And you couldn’t. You couldn’t do that without completely complicating your friendship and you really liked what the two of you had. It was really nice at first, to have a friend without all of the “feelings” bullshit, but now you had actually fallen for him. And hard.
“Fuck,” the word fell from Tyler’s lips, his voice somehow getting even more raspy, making you even more wet. God, you really were fucked, and not in the way you wanted to be.
“Do you wanna take this out to my truck?” You asked, your hands lazily moving up and down his back.
“I’d love to take this out to your truck,” he replied, pressing his lips to yours before paying your bills and leading you out of the bar, his arm wrapping protectively around your waist.
You rifled through your purse, looking for your keys and found them before unlocking your truck. Tyler opened the driver’s seat door for you before helping you into it. He then closed the door and rounded the hood before getting into his own seat.
You peeled out of the parking lot and sped down the road, thankful for how late it was so there was little traffic. Your heart pounded as you pulled into what looked like an abandoned parking lot.
Why you were scared of what you were about to do, you didn’t know. Tyler was sweet and you knew that he would do whatever he could to make you comfortable. He was nothing but a sweetheart and would make you feel good, stopping at nothing to do so.
You put the car in park and turned it off before turning toward Tyler. You stared at each other, the only thing that could be heard was the radio playing a soft country song. You turned the volume up to attempt to drown out your thoughts. What the hell were you doing? You didn’t know, but you were fully prepared to dive right in.
Tyler reached out, placing a hand on your cheek before pulling your face closer to his, his lips ghosting over yours, almost as if he was afraid to go for it. That confidence from the bar completely evaporated into the air.
You took the lead, pressing your lips to his, your movements more rushed and rough as you nipped at his bottom lip. He let out a little whine and that was enough to make you absolutely soaked.
Rain pattered against the car as you slotted your lips together once more before pulling away. You climbed over the center console and placed yourself into his lap, straddling him.
Tyler looked up at you, his pupils blown and his lips smeared with your lipgloss. It was an adorable sight and you hated how good he looked in that goddamn hat. You took the hat off of his head and put it on your own, moving your head this way and that, modeling it for him.
“How do I look?” You asked, turning your head to the side and he just laughed.
“You look good,” he nodded.
“As good as you?”
“Even better,” he replied, pulling you in for another kiss, removing the hat from your head and setting it on the driver’s seat.
He slipped his tongue into your mouth, letting it swirl around yours and a moan fell from your lips at the sensation. His hands slipped into your back pockets, giving your ass a squeeze and you gasped into his mouth which only made him do it again.
You began to grind against him as your tongues tangled together and you could hear a groan in the back of his throat. The whole thing was overstimulating for him, there was no way he was going to ask you to stop any time soon.
Your hands rested on his chest as you kissed him, this one slow and gentle, as if you two had all the time in the world, and right there, in that abandoned parking lot, you did. Your tongues tangled as you continued to grind into him, your underwear getting soaked as you felt his dick forming a tent in his pants.
Tyler’s hands moved to your shorts as you reached down on the side of the seat in search of the lever that leaned it back. You found it with ease and leaned the chair back as far as it would go as you let Tyler take what he wanted from you, you pliant to his every move.
You both struggled to pull down your shorts, laughing because of how small the space was. Maybe there was a reason why neither of you ever did this kind of thing. He got them down to your ankles and you moved so he could take off his jeans, his belt buckle making a clattering noise as it hit the tops of his boots.
You both removed your shirts and Tyler eyed the black lacy number you were wearing. His hand moved up to run over the fabric of the tops of the cups, his fingers brushing your skin every so slightly.
“Like what you see?” You asked, leaning down a little so he could get a better look at your cleavage. And you had him right where you wanted him, catching him staring right at it. You scooted up so that they were right in front of his face and he brought his lips to the skin, pressing a soft to it.
He then moved up, his lips now connected with your neck, his tongue swiping back and forth as he began to suck. You moved your head to give him more access and that caused him to nip at your skin, another gasp falling from your lips.
“So good,” you moaned, your eyes shutting. He continued to work, having every intention of creating a hickey right there underneath your ear. He licked and sucked, pulling the most delicious moans from your mouth.
To test the water, he grazed the skin with his teeth and you moaned loudly, reaching your orgasm. God, you were so fucking hot, the way you were able to make the most pretty sounds and look pretty while doing it. The sweat already forming on your skin, making you look absolutely irresistible.
You helped him get his underwear down and realized there was no going back as he cock sprang free from it. It was hard as a rock and probably the biggest you had ever seen. Who knew that your best friend was packing so much? Clearly you didn’t.
You pulled a condom from your purse and rolled it onto his cock before placing yourself on top of it, both of you moving awkwardly as you got used to each other in that way. Your hands rested on his shoulder as his head went to your waist, helping you move, riding him slowly.
You picked up the pace, and Tyler couldn’t help but watch you, feeling himself getting close just by looking at you. The cause of his wet dreams right on top of him, almost convincing him that he had been in one.
He let out a moan of his own and you looked down at him, your eyes darkening as you did so. You had barely even done anything as he already looked blissed out. This had to be a record. Knowing that you could do that to someone gave you so much power and you got more confident, moving as fast and as hard as you could.
Tyler let out another moan, his own scream climbing up his throat, his fingers digging into your waist, surely forming bruises. His head was back against the headrest, his eyes shut tight as another scream ripped through him, his breathing labored.
His hands moved up your back, his nails gliding down it, leaving scratches and your back arched at the movement, reaching your own orgasm. But you stayed there, seeing if you could get one more from him before taking a break before going for round two.
“Holy shit,” he moaned. “You really know what you’re doing,” he said through breaths.
His hands scratched up your back as you watched him, seeing that he was close again. A final loud moan fell from his lips and you slowed down your pace but kept moving, another orgasm rolling through you.
You sat there, staring at each other, your chests rising and falling as you did so. You never thought you would have ever gotten to that place with Tyler, but there you were, sitting on top of his dick, having just had the best sex of your life. And it hadn't even lasted that long.
“I have an idea. And hear me out, okay?” He asked, his hands moving up and down your arms lazily.
“Okay.”
“What if-what I want you to be the only one I sleep with?” Your eyes widened at his words, but you had to admit that you loved the idea. There was no way you could fuck anyone else after that. He had ruined you for any other man.
“Oh, so like friends with benefits?” So you didn’t understand. That wasn’t what he wanted at all. He wanted you to be his. Solely exclusive with him. His girlfriend. The one he went to bed with every night and woke up to every morning.
“I love you, y/n,” he said, sitting up, taking you into his arms, looking you in the eyes so you knew he was serious. This wasn’t exactly how he had planned on telling you, but he supposed that this was a good a time as any.
“I love you too, Tyler,” you replied, pressing your lips to his, this kiss sweeter than the others, both of you smiling into it. “Be mine?”
“Oh, darlin’,” he let out a chuckle, pressing another kiss to your lips. “I always was.”

This one moment was about to change your entire life. You were terrified. Would you be a good mom? Would you be able to make a good enough life for the little growing blimp inside you? Your thoughts were running a million times a minute. Wondering how this would affect the rest of your lives. How this one moment just changed the rest of your life.
You slowly sat on the edge of the tub, in shock, the positive pregnancy test in your hand. Your mind drifted to Tyler. Oh god. His tornado wrangler YouTube channel had began to soar in popularity. He and the team making a name for themselves. He had millions of views and a huge fan club. What would this do to his career?
“Hey hun-” Tyler knocks on the door, jolting you from your thoughts. His hand jiggles the door finding it locked. He furrows his eyebrows, you never locked the door. “you alright?”
“Y-yeah!” You rummaged underneath the sink, hiding the test under some towels. “One sec.”
You knew Tyler was getting ready to leave, a few storms brewing before this upcoming weekend. You exit the bathroom and met with Tyler’s hard chest, “You leaving?”
He peeks behind you, concerned and curious, “Yeah, why’d you have the door locked? You never lock the door.”
You shrug, playing it off. You could wait to tell him when he got back, “sometimes a girl needs her privacy.”
He hums in response, not completely believing you. However, he didn’t want to press you. If there was something bothering you, you’d eventually tell him when you were ready. He could respect that. He slips his arms around you, tugging you close against his chest. He was a mix of sweat and that musky sandalwood. It was calming and heavenly. “I’ll be back in a couple days. You gonna be able to hold down the fort?”
You nod against his chest, tightening your arms around him, “I can.” You lift your head to stare up at him, “You better come back in one piece.”
He chuckles with a nod, “Yes ma’am.” He presses a soft kiss to your forehead and then your lips. “I will call you when we get to the hotel.”
You walk him out to bid him and the team goodbye. Shielding your eyes from the sun, you watch him drive down the driveway. He hangs his hand out the window, waving goodbye. You return the wave, saying a silent prayer for a safe return of him and the team as your hands find your new growing womb. “He’ll be back.”
~
You’d spent the entire weekend trying to figure out how to tell him. You’d called one of your girlfriends in tears, wondering how to tell him. Worried you would be ruining his life. She reassured you, “Tyler isn’t that kind of guy, y/n. You know that. He’s going to support you and be excited for this next step.”
You heard the slam of the screen door, “Tyler must be home.”
“Call me later.”
You throw the blanket off you, meeting him in the foyer as he’s taking off the boots. “You’re home early?”
He smiles at the sight of you, but frowns when he notices you’ve been crying, “Had a feeling I needed to come home to my girl.” He crosses the foyer to you in only a few steps before gathering you in his arms.
At the first feel of comfort, the flood gates open, sobbing into his chest. damn hormones.
“Oh baby..” He squeezes you tighter, cradling your head against his chest, “Talk to me.”
You take a few seconds to console yourself. His large thumb wipes your tears away, waiting patiently for you.
You gather yourself, taking a deep breath before you meet his eyes, “I’m pregnant.”
His large hands cup your cheeks, his eyes light up, full of hope, “Yeah? You’re pregnant?”
You nod and hiccup a sob, beginning to rant, “I’m so sorry-you’ve just started your YouTube channel and you guys are so successful now-”
“No no no- Shhh.” He pulls you in a comforting hug, “This is incredible. I couldn’t be any happier.”
He holds you against his chest, slowly rocking back and forth as you calm down, “I knew something was bothering you. I just had a feeling.” He kisses your hair, and then makes you look at him, “We’re gonna be parents.” He's hesitant, but places a hand on your stomach, “you’re gonna be an amazing mom..”
You waddled into the room to find Tyler painting the wall of the nursery. His hat on backwards, jeans and shirt stained with paint.
“How’s it going in here?” You take a seat in the wooden rocking chair, sighing in relief. Those stairs were beginning to take a toll on you. Your growing baby leaving barely any room for your lungs to breathe.
“Almost done.” He sets the paint brush down, hands on his hips he admires his work around the room. “all I got left is this wall.”
You rub a hand over your bump, wincing as you adjust yourself in the chair.
Tyler noticing your discomfort, immediately is at your side, full of worry, “It’s not time yet-”
“No no,” You laugh, “Just some discomfort. I’m fine.”
He visibly relaxes, “He can’t come early. There’s way too much to do around here.”
You roll your eyes, “It also could be a she.” You and him agreed to wait until the birth to find out the sex. He was convinced it’s a boy.
“Daddy instincts.” He gets on his knees in front of you, hands on your stomach, “It’s a boy. I know it.” He flashes his pearly white smile at you. “a baby boy tornado wrangler.”
“I think it’s gonna be a girl.” You shrug, “mommy instincts.”
“We’re gonna prove your mommy wrong,” He says to your belly, “Right off the bat, you and I. I’ll finally be right on something.”
Of course, the baby kicks at the sound of Tyler’s voice. Tyler grins, “See, he agrees.”
“You’re screwed.” You whisper softly to Tyler. After hours of labor, you and Tyler finally welcomed your baby into the world. He’s seated in the rocking chair next to your bed, his bundle of joy wrapped softly in a blanket. --- a pink blanket.
“There’s two of us now. You’ll never stand a chance.” You reach over and caress his arm.
He looks at you with tear-filled eyes, “She’s only a couple hours old and she’s already got me wrapped around her finger. She could ask me for anything and I’m going to give it to her.”
“Like I said,” you say with a smile, “you’re screwed.”

Tumblr media
(gif not mine!)
Standing in the middle of a rest stop with your team and a few other groups, your boyfriend decided to go off on you.
Just hours earlier he had made a mistake while chasing a tornado. He told you that he wouldn't get too close, he wouldn’t let anything happen. But, that wasn’t the case at all. He decided to take a chance and get as close as he possibly could, and contrary to his beliefs, he did get too close.
You yelled at him to turn around, just as everyone had over the radio. Yet, he persisted despite your begging to go back. Everyone else in the group had turned around but he just couldn’t face the fact that he was wrong. As the storm got closer you began to cry, muttering prayers and pleas to anyone or anything that would hear you.
He began to yell at you to shut up and stop being a bitch. This only made you cry harder, and just as you dreaded a strong gust of wind followed by quite a large piece of debris hit the side of your truck. It hit the truck hard enough to tip it but not enough to make it roll. And for that, you believed your pleas had been heard.
Now here you were after getting checked out by paramedics, luckily nothing severe had happened. Just a gash across your forehead that needed stitches and a few other cuts and bruises. Your friends were terrified when they found you both and confused as to why your boyfriend would do that.
That brought you to the moment you knew it was over.
“You know, if you weren’t such a mess, none of this would’ve happened.” he sneered.
“I’m sorry, what?” you snapped back. He looked at you and rolled his eyes.
“You heard what I said. You’re a damn mess. You sitting there in the passenger seat crying, pleading with God not to let us die. Like I didn’t know what I was doing.” He took a large step towards you and your breath hitched.
“You weren’t listening to any of us, we could have been seriously hurt. We could have died Nathan!” your eyes were wide, and your heart was pounding.
“There you go again, being as dramatic as you can. You’d do anything for attention and sympathy. It makes me sick, honestly. Get over yourself, no one cares (y/n)! I sure as hell don’t.” he said. Your heart dropped, and your eyes began to tear up.
“Go ahead and cry just like always. I’m done with you and all your problems. It was your fault for the accident. If you weren't being a baby I would’ve been paying attention. Get out of here, we’re leaving. Go home and pack your shit.” his voice was as cold as his eyes were.
He stormed away to where the rest of your group stood. They all looked at him in fear, not knowing how cruel he was.
“What the hell are you looking at? Let’s get out of here before she comes begging for forgiveness,” he said in disgust.
All you could do was stand there, watching all of the people you thought loved you turn their backs on you. Leave you there like you never mattered to them at all.
They drove off and you felt your heart shatter. You didn’t know he hated you that much, and it made you feel sick.
Feeling your stomach churn you quickly ran to the side of the building and threw up. As you were hunched over you felt hands grab your hair and someone rubbing your back soothingly.
Once you had stopped you began to sob, you were completely overwhelmed and in quite a state. You didn’t know who had pulled you into a hug but you held on so tightly you could’ve bruised them.
“Hey, hey. Shh, it’s ok I’ve got you.” the person's voice was something you held onto in your mind. “You’re gonna be ok, I promise,” the man spoke softly letting his hand smooth your hair down.
You weren't sure how long you stayed that way but when you eventually calmed down your grip became lax. You rubbed at your eyes trying to get the world into focus again.
Feeling someone’s eyes on you, you were reminded of the person next to you.
Glancing up you saw a man you’d never expected to see. Tyler Owens.
At that moment you didn’t care who he was, you just knew that you were grateful for him.
You had come across him and his team a few times, and despite him being a little annoying he was always kind to you.
His eyes held a softness you had never seen, and his smile was sympathetic.
You realized then how ridiculous you must look. Dirty clothes mascara trails on your face and puffy eyes. You suddenly became embarrassed.
“I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, I’m not doing this for attention. I just felt overwhelmed, and the crash and everything caught up to me all at once. Honestly, I didn’t mean for anyone to see me like this. I’m so sorry Tyler, You didn’t have to help me-” He cut off your rambling.
“(y/n), listen to me,” he said and ducked down to try and meet your eyes. You turned your head away, so as gently as he could with a firm grip, he turned your face towards him.
You looked at him and saw no judgment or anger. The only thing you saw was kindness, and with his hand on your cheek, you felt how steady he was.
“You have no reason to be sorry. What you just went through is not easy to process. I know you’re not doing this for attention. You’re hurt, and you're exhausted, and I can assume you're still shaken up from the car flipping.” He said with a calmness you never thought of when it came to Tyler.
You slowly nodded your head, trying to calm yourself. “It’s not your fault, none of it is your fault.”
--
It had been a few months since everything happened, and you were beginning to see all of the things you ignored. With the fog lifted you could see that the way Nathan treated you was beyond terrible. Everything that didn’t go his way was your fault. The way he only said he loved you when you were in front of your families. All the times he chewed you out in front of the team, and then would persuade you to forgive him and believe that it was once again your fault.
Tyler and his team ended up taking you home. He went with you to get your things from Nathan’s apartment. He made things bearable, he made you feel like you were important and that was so new to you.
You became quite good friends with his group as well. They had all checked in on you as much as they could. They’d stop by and spend the night, just keeping you company. They wanted you to feel like you had people who cared for you. Honestly, they all fell in love with you.
Currently, you were sitting at home curled up on the couch with your latest book. A cup of tea sat on the side table, and rain lightly drizzled on the roof.
Hearing cars pull up outside your brows furrowed, and you bookmarked your page before getting up. With the blanket wrapped around your shoulders, you made your way to the window. There in your driveway was Tyler’s red truck, and the RV. You saw everyone pile out of the cars and you quickly walked to your front door and yanked it open.
“Guys!” you shouted and dropped your blanket in favor of running down your porch towards your friends. Boone being the closest you crashed into him, your arms around him in a big hug.
“Hey, (y/n)!” he exclaimed as he held you tightly. He swayed you a bit and you chuckled before pulling away.
You went around and greeted all your friends.
“Where’s my hug?” You heard Tyler’s voice sound from behind you. You turned to look at him with a big smile.
You opened your arms, “Right here if you want it,” you teased. He chuckled slightly before walking towards you and swiftly wrapping you up in his arms. You let out a laugh when he picked you up off the wet grass. It was only then that you remembered that it was raining. You felt the water land on your warm face and you scrunched your nose.
Tyler couldn’t help but smile at you, admiring the joy and contentment he could see on your face. It was a peace he never saw you have before.
Setting you down you smiled up at him and grabbed his hand in yours before jogging towards the open door. Everyone else had gone inside to escape the rain, or at least that’s the reason they gave you.
The whole team knew that the real reason they went into the house was to let you and Tyler have a moment. They could tell that something was happening between the two of you.
You closed the door behind you, and Tyler picked up the blanket you had dropped on the floor.
Luckily it wasn’t a full-blown storm so none of you were soaked. Just a few sprinkles on your clothes. You offered your friends coffee or tea, or a beer if they wanted one. Surprisingly they all opted for coffee.
“The fact that you don’t put any cream or sugar into your coffee makes me ill Dexter.” You said jokingly.
“Well, I want coffee not just a cup of cream and sugar,” he said and shrugged. You laughed as you walked into the kitchen to make the coffee for them.
As you walked away everyone turned their attention towards Tyler.
“So, are you gonna go talk to her?” Dani questioned him with a smirk. Tyler raised a brow at them and scoffed.
“We all know you’re dying to ask her out Ty, just go do it,” Lily urged him.
He shook his head and sighed. “You guys are crazy, she just got her heart broken a few months ago. I doubt she wants to jump into something else so soon,” Tyler told them.
Boone looked at his best friend with a questioning look. “Tyler, I swear to god if you don’t go in there and ask that woman out, I’ll do it for you,” he threatened.
Tyler sighed in defeat. “What would I even say?” he asked them all.
“Just talk to her like normal. Just be Tyler, that’s all she would want,” Dani patted his shoulder.
“Shit,” Tyler mumbled before standing from his place on the couch. They all quietly cheered him on as he walked away.
You had music playing as you made everyone’s coffee for them. Swaying around the kitchen you sang quietly under your breath.
“Now pretty baby, I’m running back home to you. Fresh out the slammer I know who my first call will be to. Fresh out the slammer ah,” When the first verse started did a small spin.
Tyler stood quietly in the doorway admiring you in your own world. It was as if nothing could touch you right now. In that moment he realized just how much he wanted to be yours. He knew he could treat you better. He would do anything to see you smile, and to see you without a care in the world.
He let out a small chuckle as you spun. You heard him and turned around in surprise. You let out a breath realizing that it was just him. You smiled and walked over to him to grab his hands.
You began to dance with him to the song. He twirled you away from him and pulled you back in. You laughed and began to sing the song again.
“Now pretty baby, I’m runnin’ to the house where you still wait up, and that porch light gleams. To the one who says I’m the girl of his American Dreams.” He smiled down at you and pulled you in close. Your arms around his waist and his arms around your shoulders. You had never felt this safe before, and it was the happiest you had been in years.
“But it’s gonna be alright, I did my time.”
The song ended and he slowly pulled away. Your smile was soft and your gaze was warm as you looked up at him. He could feel his heart melt at the sight in front of him.
He glanced at your lips, then back up to your eyes. He took a tentative step closer, placing a hand on your waist and the other on your cheek. You took a small step forward, and your smile turned shy. You placed one hand on his forearm and the other on his shoulder.
He slowly leaned in, pausing for just a second, his nose brushing yours. Taking a moment to see if this was what you wanted. He felt your soft breathing against his lips, and he saw that your eyes were closed.
“Please,” he heard your soft whisper, and without a second thought, he pressed his lips against yours.
You immediately pushed up on your toes to press yourself closer to him. Tyler couldn’t remember a time he had ever felt this way for someone. His hand drifted from your face into your hair, gently tugging the soft strands. You sighed into the kiss and he took the opportunity to deepen it. The hand on your waist had moved to your back to keep you flush against him.
The way he kissed you made you feel like you didn’t have to worry about being hurt. You didn’t have to tiptoe around him or be scared that one day he would just decide he didn’t love you. It felt like rain after a drought, sun after a cruel winter, Finally escaping the prison cell you had been in for the last six years.
It felt like freedom.
--
“Ty! Roll down the window!” you said in excitement. Tyler looked at you with a huge grin.
“You better be careful baby,” he said, with that glint in his eyes.
“Always am,” you winked as you pulled yourself as far out the window as you could. You were practically sitting with your legs in the car and your torso through the window. You held on to the cage with one hand letting yourself feel the rain and wind whipping through your hair. Tyler drove down the road as best as he could while stealing glances at you.
He heard how you laughed and yelled into the wind. It was moments like those when he realized he had found his person. He found the person he wanted to spend forever with.
When Tyler saw the clouds becoming more dense he tapped your leg softly as a way of telling you to come back in. You quickly slid yourself back into the seat with a huge smile.
Your hair was slightly wet and completely wind-swept.
“God, I love you,” he said and you chuckled.
“Why do you say that?” you asked slightly out of breath.
“Because you understand me. I don’t have to explain why I do this, because you love it just as much as I do,” he said and you smiled over at him.
“If it wasn't for you, I wouldn’t have ever done this again. You brought back the love of chasing, I know with you I have nothing to be afraid of,” You told him and leaned over to kiss the corner of his smile.
He placed on hand on your thigh and glanced over at you with so much love.
“Are you guys ready for this?!” Boone’s voice came through the radio loud and clear. A laugh escaped you.
Picking up the radio, you responded. “We are. Are you?”
Boone could hear the smirk in your voice. Lily laughed, “See you on the other side!” she crowed.
Tyler drove further into the storm's path, when he got exactly where you wanted to be, he anchored the truck into the ground.
Tyler looked over at you with the same grin you had seen countless times now. The one that you’d never get tired of seeing, and you imagine your smile mirrored his.
The tornado swirled around you, and the rush of adrenaline you always felt came flooding through you. Tyler's hand was still placed on your thigh, a grounding comfort for you. Despite your love for tornadoes and storms, there was always the smallest twinge of fear. But it was something you had grown to appreciate, it made you have so much more respect for Mother Nature.
It was amazing to see the look on Ty’s face as he watched everything happen around him. There was never a time you had seen him unimpressed by a tornado, a storm, or just rain on a cloudy day.
It was your favorite thing to witness. His passion and eagerness to understand these things.
The tornado had passed and you and Tyler immediately looked at each other and burst into laughter.
You leaped out of the truck and turned to watch the tornado forge its path across the field.
Tyler came up behind you and scooped you up. He let out a shout of joy, and you laughed breathlessly. He set you down.
“Did you see that baby?!” he yelled. He ran a hand through his hair and you smiled.
“That was beautiful Ty! I can’t believe that!” you enthused as you danced around the field. Tyler chuckled and grabbed your hand spinning you around.
He pulls you close to him and you reach up to hold his face in your hands. Your hair was a bit frizzy from the rain earlier and your eyes were bright as you looked at him with so much love.
“Tyler Owens, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me,” you said and pulled him down to kiss you.
His hand crept under your shirt, and you shivered at his touch. His hands were rough, but it made you melt. He pulled away when a car horn honked a few feet away.
You turned to see who it was. Expecting it to be the crew you were surprised to see Nathan and your old team get out of their cars.
You rolled your eyes and sighed. Nathan stormed over to you but Tyler quickly stood in front of you.
“Get out of my way,” Nathan said, trying his best to sound intimidating.
It was true that Nathan was significantly shorter than Tyler, and you had to hold back your laugh.
“What are you gonna do, Kick me?” Tyler questioned with a raised brow.
“(y/n), we need to talk right now,” He used that voice that always used to scare you into doing what he wanted. He sounded pathetic now.
“She doesn't owe you a damn thing Nathan,” Tyler said and took a step closer to him.
You stepped forward to grab Tyler’s wrist and pull him back. Just as you did this, you heard your friends pull up next to you.
They all got out of their cars as well and came over to see what was going on.
When they saw Nathan, they all sighed in annoyance.
“Why is Shorty here?” Dani asked.
Nathan sent a glare their way, and Dani flipped him off.
“Damn it, (y/n), Just let me talk to you!” he shouted angrily.
Tyler was about to step in when you squeezed his hand. He looked down at you quizzically.
“I can talk to him, it’s ok T,” you said and tugged him down to kiss his cheek.
Tyler took a couple of steps back and let you stand in front of Nathan.
“Nathan, what do you want?” you asked him with your arms crossed.
“Why the hell are you with them? Why are you with him?” he questioned angrily.
“I’m way better than him. I knew you were desperate but Tyler Owens, are you serious?” Nathan took a jab, expecting to get a reaction out of you.
You just gave him a look as if asking if he was done talking.
“You done?” You questioned with a raised brow.
He stood there unable to find words, “What the hell is wrong with you?” he ended up spitting out.
You scoffed. “What’s wrong with me? Nothing. But I can tell you what's wrong with you.” before he got a chance to clap back you spoke up again.
“You treat everyone else around you like crap because you're bitter. You take out your anger on the people around you because you can’t face the fact that you’re miserable. You took everything out on me, it was always my fault. Every little thing that didn’t go right in your life, you blamed on me.”
“That’s bullshit!” he interjected angrily.
“Oh, really? Should I bring up the time you told me I was your biggest mistake, that if you never would have talked to me you wouldn’t be having so many problems. You made me believe that I was always the problem.” You stated with conviction.
“Being with you was a prison sentence, if you hadn’t left that day, I would’ve died handcuffed to the spell I was under, lost in the shade of how you were feeling. You leaving me there was the best thing to happen to me,” you affirmed.
“By the way, for every time you called me a bitch, He calls me the girl of his American dreams.”
You flipped him off with the sweetest smile you could muster.
“Fuck you,” he spat at you and you kept a smile on your face. He turned away from you and began to walk away.
“One more thing Nathan! These people that I’m with now, are worth more than 100 of you,” you said and pointed to the whole group.
They got in their cars and turned around as fast as they could. You turned to look at your friends and boyfriend. They all looked stunned.
“What?” you asked with a smile. “That was my favorite thing that has ever happened,” Lily spoke and you chuckled. Dexter walked up to you and wrapped you in a hug, you hugged him back just as everyone else joined in on it.
You laughed with everyone as you pulled away. “I love you guys, what more is there to say,” you shrugged.
You felt arms wrap around your waist and you smiled before turning around to face Tyler. He smiled down at you. You reached up and took the hat off of his head and placed it on your own with a sly smile.
“The girl of my American dreams, huh?” he questioned with a smirk. You tilt your head a bit as you gaze up at him.
“You know it, cowboy,”

Honeymoon anxiety - Tyler Owens x Fem! Reader
.*・。゚☆゚.*・。゚
The fire crackles, spitting out small bits caught by the fire guard Tyler had placed in front of it an hour or so ago. you were currently sitting with your recliner up and head in your laptop.
“You know, it would be nice if you spoke to me instead of having your head in the laptop all night”, Tyler's voice gains your attention looking up towards the doorway where he is currently leaning up against, a teasing smile on his face.
“I'm sorry baby, I'm just trying to work out all the plans for our honeymoon, I’m convinced this is harder to plan than the actual wedding.” you speak for the first time in a few hours. you had been sitting researching all these different places across the world to see what would fit yours and Tyler's respected interests.
“I told you, we could just go on a solo storm chasing trip for a few weekends, then we aren’t spending as much money,” your head immediately snaps up to look at him, your eyes narrowing into a glare. “Tyler owens. I told you we are not celebrating our honeymoon by going and storm chasing. We already do that everyday, and you know damn well the gang is gonna turn around and tag along” you spit at him, he knew this was a non-negotiable issue with you.
You watch as he walks into the living room and towards the sofa where you are sitting, Tyler sits beside you and pulls you closer towards him ending with you on his lap facing him.
“I cannot wait to marry you my dear,” he leaves a gentle kiss on your lips, he can taste your vanilla lip balm which causes him to lean in again for a second taste. “I'm sorry I haven't been speaking to you, ty. I'm just so worried we won’t have everything planned and booked before the wedding.” You let your worries out to him, he watches you with the most love ever as you ramble on about the small details which were causing you anxiety. every so often you would feel him squeeze your waist so you knew he was listening to you.
Your wedding has always been made a big deal, even since you were a kid. That was your biggest dream, to marry your prince charming. Tyler had many conversations with your parents, mainly because they gave him the rundown of how you are going to act like when he does propose.
You start to fiddle with your engagement ring, playing and rubbing the small diamond in the middle of the gold ring. You had stated on your first date with Tyler that you only wear gold jewellery and have never been into silver, that was something he has taken a mental note of when you started to get serious - eventually using that to pick out the engagement ring 3 years later.
“Everything will come out perfect my love, stop worrying, we still have 7 months until the big day,” his voice immediately calms you down, his green eyes staring into yours, the love for you shown in the look he is giving you.
“We are still not having the honeymoon in tornado alley though.”

pairing: Tyler Owen’s x f! reader
Tyler pushed his grocery cart down the cereal aisle, his mind wandering to the endless list of storm reports and data he needed to compile. Living in Tornado Alley kept him busy, but today was his day off, and he intended to make the most of it. His mom had called earlier, asking if he could pick up a few things for her, so here he was, navigating the grocery store with a list in hand.
Y/N walked into the store, her mind preoccupied with the upcoming shift at the hospital al. Being an ER doctor was demanding, but she loved it. As she moved through the aisles, her thoughts drifted back to her childhood in Topeka. She had left so much behind, including her best friend turned rival, Tyler Owens.
Tyler and Y/N had grown up together, inseparable until their teenage years when a series of misunderstandings and hurt feelings had driven them apart. Now, years later, they both lived in the same town, yet their paths rarely crossed.
Lost in their thoughts, they both reached for the same box of cereal at the exact moment. Their hands brushed, and they turned to look at each other.
“Tyler?” Y/N’s voice was filled with surprise.
“Y/N?” Tyler’s eyes widened, taking in the sight of her. She looked effortlessly beautiful in the grocery store lighting, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, freckles scattered across her nose, and those familiar dimples appearing as she smiled.
They stood there for a moment, frozen, before Tyler recovered and stepped back. “Ladies first,” he said, gesturing to the cereal box.
“Wow, chivalry isn’t dead after all,” Y/N replied with a raised eyebrow as she picked up the box and placed it in her cart. “Didn’t think you’d still be in town.”
“Ditto,” Tyler shot back, crossing his arms. “Guess we both had the same idea to stick around.”
“Guess so,” Y/N said, a smirk playing on her lips. “Still chasing storms, I see. Figured you’d have grown out of that by now.”
“Still saving lives, I see,” Tyler retorted. “Figured you’d have moved on to something less dramatic.”
“Some things never change,” Y/N muttered, shaking her head. “You still think you know everything.”
“And you still think you’re always right,” Tyler countered.
An awkward silence stretched between them, filled with the unspoken tension of their past. Finally, Tyler broke it. “Want to grab a coffee? Catch up?”
Y/N hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Sure, why not?”
They finished their shopping and met at the small café inside the store. As they sat down with their drinks, the conversation flowed more easily than either had expected. They reminisced about their childhood adventures, laughed about old pranks, and shared stories about their current lives.
“Remember that time we tried to build a treehouse in my backyard?” Y/N asked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
“How could I forget?” Tyler chuckled. “We got halfway up the tree before your dad caught us and grounded us for a week.”
“I think that was the last time I tried to build anything,” Y/N admitted, shaking her head.
Tyler smirked. “Yeah, you always were better at bossing people around than actually doing the work.”
Y/N rolled her eyes dramatically. “And you always thought you could do everything better than everyone else.”
“Maybe because I usually can,” Tyler shot back, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Oh, please,” Y/N laughed. “Your ego is still as big as ever.”
“And your sarcasm is still as sharp,” Tyler retorted, grinning.
As Y/N rolled her eyes again, Tyler felt a surprising surge of attraction. He’d forgotten how feisty and sassy she could be. He found himself admiring her spirit, the fire that had always made her stand out.
“You know,” he said, his voice softening, “I never really understood why we drifted apart.”
Y/N sighed, her expression turning serious. “We were young and stubborn. I guess we both thought the other had changed, and neither of us wanted to admit we missed our friendship.”
Tyler nodded, reaching across the table to take her hand. “I’m sorry for my part in it.”
“Me too,” Y/N squeezed his hand, her smile returning. “But maybe it’s not too late to start over.”
Tyler’s heart skipped a beat as he looked into her eyes. “I’d like that.”
They finished their coffee and left the store together, walking side by side. The tension of their past was gone, replaced by a sense of hope for the future.
As they reached their cars, Tyler turned to Y/N. “How about dinner sometime? We can catch up properly.”
“I’d love that,” Y/N agreed, her dimples deepening as she smiled. “It’s a date.”
Tyler stood on Y/N’s doorstep, holding a bouquet of tulips, his heart pounding in his chest. The door swung open, revealing Y/N in a sundress that hugged her curves perfectly. Her cleavage sat enticingly on her chest, and Tyler felt his breath hitch.
“Wow,” Tyler managed, handing her the flowers. “You look amazing.”
“Thank you,” Y/N replied, a blush coloring her cheeks as she took the bouquet. “You clean up pretty well yourself.”
Their dinner date was filled with snarky banter and playful sassiness. Tyler couldn’t help but be drawn to Y/N’s sharp wit and fiery spirit. Every eye roll, every sarcastic comment only made him more captivated.
“You still think you can outsmart me?” Tyler teased as they finished their meal.
“I know I can,” Y/N shot back, a challenging glint in her eyes.
Tyler watched intently as Y/N lifted her glass of wine to her lips. The way the deep red liquid touched her lips, glistening as she took a sip, made his heart race. Her chest rose and fell with each breath, her cleavage mesmerizing in the soft lighting of the restaurant. The scent of her perfume, a delicate mix of floral and something uniquely her, filled the air around him, making his senses swim.
“Enjoying the view?” Y/N asked, a teasing smile playing on her lips as she caught him staring.
Tyler smirked, leaning in closer. “Absolutely. And not just the view.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, but Tyler saw the blush spreading across her cheeks. “You’re incorrigible.”
“And you love it,” Tyler shot back, his voice low and filled with promise.
As the night drew to a close, the tension between them became palpable. They walked to Tyler’s truck, the air thick with unspoken desire. Once they were parked in her driveway, neither could resist any longer. Tyler leaned in, capturing Y/N’s lips in a heated kiss. She responded eagerly, her hands tangling in his hair as their mouths moved together with a desperate intensity.
Tyler’s hands roamed over her body, feeling the soft fabric of her dress and the warmth of her skin beneath. Y/N’s fingers worked at his belt buckle, her eyes locking with his, filled with a mix of determination and vulnerability.
“May I?” she whispered, her doe eyes searching his face.
Tyler could only nod, unable to form words as his heart raced. Y/N undid his pants, her fingers brushing against his growing arousal. She looked up at him one last time before lowering her head, her lips closing around him.
Tyler’s head fell back against the seat, a low groan escaping his lips as Y/N’s mouth worked its magic. She moved with practiced ease, her tongue swirling around him, her lips creating a perfect seal. The sensation was overwhelming, and Tyler’s hands gripped the edge of the seat, trying to anchor himself.
Y/N teased him, her mouth moving slowly, her eyes flicking up to watch his reactions. She let her lips travel along his length, peppering kisses on his V-line, causing Tyler to shiver with anticipation. She licked the pre-cum off the tip, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she took her time savoring him.
“Y/N,” he groaned, his hand moving to tangle in her hair, urging her on. She responded eagerly, her mouth and hand working in perfect harmony.
Tyler felt himself nearing the edge, the tension coiling tighter within him. “I’m close,” he warned, his voice strained.
Y/N didn’t slow down, her determination clear in the way she continued to pleasure him. With a final, shuddering gasp, Tyler came, his release flooding Y/N’s mouth. She swallowed, her eyes never leaving his, a satisfied smile playing on her lips as she pulled away.
Tyler was left breathless, his heart pounding as he looked down at Y/N. “That was… incredible,” he managed, his voice hoarse.
Y/N grinned, her dimples deepening. “You’ve been driving me wild since we were kids. .”
Tyler reached out, pulling her into his lap, capturing her lips in another searing kiss. “I can’t wait any longer,” he whispered against her lips.
Without breaking the kiss, Tyler carried Y/N into the house, his hands sliding up her thighs, feeling the smooth skin beneath her dress. They barely made it through the door before Tyler’s desire overcame him. He set Y/N on the kitchen counter, his hands moving to pull her dress over her head.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to see you like this,” Tyler murmured, his voice rough with desire. “Since we were teens, I’ve imagined this moment.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as Tyler’s hands roamed over her body, his touch sending shivers down her spine. “Then don’t make me wait any longer,” she whispered, her eyes dark with desire.
Tyler didn’t need any more encouragement. He pulled her dress over her head, revealing her in all her beauty. His eyes roamed over her curves, taking in the sight of her bare skin, her breasts exposed and enticing. “You’re perfect,” he breathed, his hands cupping her breasts, thumbs brushing over her nipples, causing her to arch into his touch.
Y/N’s hands moved to his shirt, unbuttoning it with trembling fingers. She pushed it off his shoulders, letting her hands explore the muscles of his chest and back. Tyler’s mouth found her neck, kissing and nibbling along her skin, eliciting soft moans from her.
“Tyler,” she gasped as his mouth moved lower, trailing kisses down her chest. His hands slid down to her waist, lifting her slightly to pull off her panties, leaving her completely exposed on the counter.
Tyler took a moment to appreciate the sight before him, his breath hitching with anticipation. “I’ve wanted this for so long,” he murmured, his voice filled with awe and desire.
He kissed her again, his mouth demanding and hungry. Y/N responded eagerly, her legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him closer. Tyler’s fingers found her wetness, teasing her entrance, making her gasp and cling to him.
“Please,” she whispered, her voice desperate.
Tyler didn’t make her wait any longer. He positioned himself at her entrance, pausing for a moment to look into her eyes. “Are you sure?” he asked, his voice tender.
“Yes,” Y/N replied, her eyes filled with trust and desire.
With a groan, Tyler entered her, the sensation overwhelming them both. He moved slowly at first, savoring the feel of her around him, but soon their need took over, and he began to thrust harder, their bodies moving together in perfect rhythm.
The kitchen filled with the sounds of their lovemaking, the slap of skin against skin, the mingled moans and gasps. Tyler’s hands gripped her hips, holding her steady as he drove into her, each thrust bringing them closer to the edge.
Y/N’s nails raked down his back, her head falling back as she gave herself over to the pleasure. “Tyler,” she moaned, her voice breaking.
He could feel her tightening around him, her body trembling as she reached her climax. Tyler followed soon after, his release crashing over him with a force that left him breathless.
They stayed like that for a moment, clinging to each other, their breaths mingling as they came down from their high. Tyler gently lifted her off the counter, carrying her to the couch, where they collapsed in a tangle of limbs.
“That was…” Y/N began, her voice trailing off as she struggled to find the words.
“Amazing,” Tyler finished for her, a satisfied smile on his lips.
Y/N chuckled, resting her head on his chest. “Yeah, amazing.”
They lay there in comfortable silence, the past forgotten, the future filled with promise. Tyler knew that this was only the beginning of their story, and he couldn’t wait to see where it would lead.
As he held Y/N in his arms, he whispered softly, “I’ve missed you.”
Y/N looked up at him, her eyes filled with emotion. “I’ve missed you too, Tyler. More than you know.”
He kissed her gently, his heart full. “I’m not letting you go this time,” he promised.
“And I’m not letting you go either,” Y/N replied, her smile radiant.
They fell asleep like that, wrapped in each other’s arms, the past finally put to rest, and a new future stretching out before them, filled with love and endless possibilities.

“o-oh fuck, ty!” your hands tangle in his hair and you pull his face impossibly closer to your sex, your thighs tightening around his head.
his hands are on your hips holding you steady, and also stopping you from grinding down onto his stupidly perfect face.
tyler’s mouth is devouring you, and his tongue feels like absolute heaven against your engorged clit. it feels like he’s been going at this for hours, as if he had found a home between your thighs.
your thighs are quivering, threatening to crush his head, but his strong hands are holding them open with no problem.
the sounds escaping your lips are almost embarrassing, and you would be more self conscious if it wasn’t for the fact your mind was absolute mush at that very moment.
all you could think about was tyler, and that unfairly skilled tongue of his.
you aren’t sure how many times you’ve came, all you know is that your inner thighs are glistening with your own slick and cum.
he’s eating you like a starved man, the flat of his tongue pressing against your clit, his lips wrapping around the over sensitive bud and sucking until you see stars.
your grip on his hair tightens and he finally lets your hips loose, allowing you to drag your sloppy cunt all over his mouth. he’s pressing open mouthed kisses to your sopping cunt, his tongue delving into your opening, causing a surprised moan to leave your lips.
he pulls back slightly, his hot breath fanning against you. “fuck look at you sweetheart, and this pretty fucking cunt. she’s so fucking needy f’me, huh?”
“ty— fuck, i need more!”
tyler chuckles against your clit, pressing an open mouthed kiss to the bud.
“always needing more. it’s okay babydoll, i got you.” he hums, and you tense up as one of his fingers prods at your entrance.
though his free hand runs over your thigh to soothe you, easing his finger in and beginning to pump it in and out. you whimper but he shushes up. “shh, it’s okay honey, ‘js let me do the work and make you feel good pretty.” he hums, kissing your inner thigh.
you let out a soft sigh, leaning your head back and adjusting his hat on your head. he smirks up at you, curling his finger just slightly causing you to gasp.
another finger slides into your tight cavern and you curse under your breath, shifting on the seat.
his fingers work inside you methodically, and his lips wrap around your clit, his tongue laving over it.
“fuck, tyler, ‘m gonna cum—!” you say through a whine, grinding your cunt down onto his face. his fingers only work faster now, and he kisses and sucks at your abused click with passion.
you nearly shout and your thighs shake around his head, his ministrations bringing you closer to orgasm.
he basically growls against you, panting heavily. “c’mon baby, cum on my fingers and tongue, c’mon. ‘yer doing so good for me babydoll, so fucking good.” he groans.
throwing your head back against the seat, you thrash a bit and his fingers go right back to your hips, pinning you to the seat.
you cry out loud as your orgasm washes over you, your mind going blank as his fingers still inside you, never pulling out. but his tongue is still going, working you through it. he moans against you, his eyes fluttering shut as he savors the taste of you once more.
when you weakly hit the top of his head and try to pull him away from you, that’s when he finally lets up. he pulls his fingers from within you and gives a parting kiss to your swollen clit before pulling away completely.
he peppers your ankles and thighs in kissing, looking up with you as he nuzzles his cum soaked chin against your skin.
you grimace, but he only smiles. “how was that?”
“good.. really fucking good.” you whisper, obviously tired and out of breath.
he smirks and places another kiss to your skin, ignoring them wetness spreading through his pants once again.

Burned Breakfast
a/n: Thank you for the request babe! i assumed you met established relationship fluff but if you meant for the pining stages lmk!!
Word Count: 0.6K
The sunlight from the early morning peeks through the blinds, the curtains wide open. One of you forgot to close the blinds, and considering you were the one woken up by the sun’s intrusion, you blame Scott.
Scott, the peaceful man soundly asleep next to you, small snores leaving his lips, despite how many times he’s rejected the idea that he snores.
Early mornings, ones right after a night in with you, were the only times he looked truly at peace. No complaints from any of his co-workers, no gum in his mouth to fidget with and no one but you to irritate him, though he enjoys you.
He had been extra nice yesterday, making dinner for the pair of you after he got home from a particularly good day with Storm Par. So, considering you were up, you thought to return the favor, slipping on your slippers and peeling Scott’s arm that lay heavily on your waist.
He moved a bit, his brows furrowing in agitation, even in sleep, when he doesn’t get his way. Eventually, he relaxes again, and you make your way out of his bedroom.
It wasn’t even half an hour before Scott started to stir, his hand reaching out to grab you, but met with your side of his bed, cold.
Scott sits up abruptly, opening his eyes in a frenzy. You never got up before him. Did you leave in the middle of the night? Had he done something wrong?
The man was contemplating his entire life when he heard a pan fall from the kitchen.
He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and got up to follow the noise quickly. He was met with his panicked-looking girlfriend running a hand under the sink.
Scott scowls at the sight, scurrying over to you to inspect the damage.
“What the fuck were you trying to do?” he asked incredulously, kissing your cheek in lieu of a good morning.
“Cooking you breakfast,” you frown, moving your hand to motion around the mess you made in the kitchen. “Pancakes and bacon!”
Scott shook his head, laughing slightly. “Oh really?” he asks, moving to wrap his arms around your waist from behind, pushing your burned hand back under the running water when you move it away. “And how’s that working out for you?”
You narrow your eyes playfully, “You can’t be mean. I’m injured,” you say rather dramatically.
Scott rolls his eyes. “Yeah, well, you did that to yourself.” But he moves to the fridge to collect the burn cream he kept there after a nasty incident he had a couple of months back.
He turns off the water for you and snatches your hand towards him so he can apply the cream. “Why were you trying to make me breakfast anyway? Not that I don’t appreciate it.” He raises a brow, and you smile sheepishly.
“I wanted to do something for you.”
“That’s sweet ‘n all, babe, but I promise I’m happy with waking up to you in my bed,” he says, blowing on your burned hand when you wince. “The cream won’t stop the pain, but it’s refreshing, and if you keep applying it, the burn won’t scar.”
“Thanks,” you say flatly, cheeks tinged pink at his words.
“Alright, no offense, but I'm not sure how much I trust this pancake batch,” he starts, staring judgmentally at the (burned) batch you made. You start to protest, but he cuts you off. “It’s fucking early. How about we go back to sleep for another hour, and when we wake up, I'll take you out to the diner?”
The argument dies on your tongue, and you nod, grabbing his hand. “Well, come on, then. I’ve been dying to get back to bed the second the opened curtains that someone forgot to close last night woke me up.”
The corners of his mouth twitch up as he pushes you back into the room, gently. “Thought you wanted to be nice?”

NEXT BEST EXIT — Dani (twisters) x oc!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: KATYYYY 😮‍💨!!! She deserved more screen time much like other characters but that’s alright, just gives us creatives more freedom to make up our own minds at the crumbs they gave us.
SYNOPSIS: In which The Wranglers were already popular with 1m subs but it never hurts to have a helping hand. Tyler seeks out Lily’s techy cousin (it may just run in the family) to help out with some of the editing for their channel, not expecting that he’s opening up a old lane for Dani to possibly slide back into.
WARNINGS: language, exploring more of the wranglers dynamic, awkward dani!, mentions of religion + conversion camp, and some angst with fluff in the end!
── .✦── ᝰ.ᐟ ── .✦── ᝰ.ᐟ ── .✦── ᝰ
[Kansas, 1:49pm]
“The new girl is late isn’t she?” Dani questions, after leaving Dexter behind to look up at Tyler who’s sitting on top of Lily’s car, going over a map for their next location in a few days.
Dani faces the road at the motel they’ve been staying in for the past day or two. Her whiskey eyes searched the hazy road for any sight of their prospect.
Tyler hums, glancing away from the map as he glanced out towards the road, “she’s riding in from Nebraska…I’m not worried. She’s proven to be reliable to me already via online so I have no doubts that she’ll get here when she gets here.”
Dani’s a little bored, kicking up some dirt and ready to turn away to go tinker with something to keep her preoccupied. If Tyler had this much trust in this random person, then Dani had no choice but to follow his judgment. For as long as she’s known him, he’s never steered any of them wrong. He’s basically became the family that she no longer had, including the rest of the wranglers but ever since she’s woken up this morning there’s been something gnawing at her side.
She tried not to think too much of it, just brushing it off as those greasy nachos she had last night and figured she would make a run with Lily and Dexter to find some probiotics later so her night wouldn’t be ruined.
“C’mon danz, why you lookin’ so stressed? Work don’t start for another few hours so we can play cops and robbers if you wanna?” Boone appears behind her as she turns to meet the shorter man’s stare.
Dani can always trust Boone to bring out her inner child. He was definitely the baby brother of the group and normally wouldn’t mind his antics but again—that feeling she was experiencing was telling her that much movement wouldn’t be in her best interest.
Before she can respond, there’s the sound of a bike engine in the distance that’s approaching from the West it seems. That growing noise alone gets the group to peer up and over until they actually see the said bike out yonder.
“Ty! I think our new guest is here!” Boone announces in delight, while reaching up to shake Dani’s shoulders that she has to grip the hat on her head to stay in place.
Tyler tips the hat on his head as well, just as Kate and Javi are making their way from a casual stroll around the perimeter of the building chatting away. “I reckon so. C’mon y’all, let’s saddle up and give our plus one a warm welcome!”
Lily snorts still holding onto a controller, “don’t we always?”
He winks at her before making his way down from her vehicle. Dexter appears at Dani’s side and together they all line up as they patiently watch the new girl pull into the motel parking lot, angling her bike into a made up parking space all while kicking up some dust.
Dani tries to fight off a cough as the particles are sent towards them, leaving Dexter to firmly pat at her back while the rest are just fanning the dirt out of their visions. Clearing her throat with now watery eyes, once they settle on the big blonde curly hair, she almost goes into a coughing fit again.
It couldn’t be.
That definitely isn’t who Dani thinks it is.
“No fucking way?!” Lily screams, shoving her controller into Boone’s gut who grunts at the impact but still holds onto the device for the loc haired girl, “Tansy?!”
Dani watches with wide eyes as Lily takes off in full speed at the grinning girl who just got off her motorcycle, knees now bent some with her arms open to take on Lily’s force. The two collide and it was enough to send them both spiraling to the ground but Tansy holds them upright so that wouldn’t happen, arms locking around Lily as they share a laugh.
Everyone else is confused, that much is true but the smiles are still polite at the exchange.
“Anybody else feel like they just got an answer wrong because the teacher decided to call on you out of everybody in the class?” Javi muttered as he looked left and right down the line of his new team.
Dani blows out a breath, pinching at her side but finds herself nodding nonetheless.
Lily’s squealing even when she’s pulled back and face to face with the striking lion’s mane woman while Tansy’s got that scrunch in her nose, which is something she always tends to do when she’s also excited or happy about something.
Tyler steps forward once Lily decides to let Tansy breathe, “hi there!”
Lily quickly steps to the side but not without keeping her arm hooked with Tansy’s. She peers up at Tansy with such adoration that it was actually sweet to witness. Dani was still puzzled on how they knew each other and tried to not let her overthinking get the best of her.
“Hi Tyler Owens, good to finally meet you in person and thanks for having me.” Tansy steps forward with Lily repeating her movements, hand held out for Tyler to grasp.
There’s amusement on Tyler’s face while glancing at Lily but he doesn’t miss placing his hand right in her’s. “Thanks for meeting us all this way, I’m sure you’ll be a great addition to the team and it looks like you already got one stamp of approval from lily here.”
Lily grins, “hell yeah! Tansy’s like the only cousin I’ve ever got along with—practically my damn sister and you guys know it’s a lot of us anyway including my step-sibs.”
A chorus of, “oohs,” fill the parking lot as the answer to their silent questions were finally given. Cousin? Dani felt like she’s been kicked in the ass and punched in the side, she’s known Lily for a good while now and she’s never mentioned a cousin that she’s been close with and certainly not like this! Dani’s pretty good at listening and back at their headquarters, their setups are right across from each other so how could she have missed this?
Kate and Javi step forward next, introducing themselves as they also shake Tansy’s hand. She moves with ease, even when Boone attempts to mean mug her with crossed arms, pretending to feel threatened that there’s someone else on the tech side but quickly breaks with a grin before lifting her off her feet with a bone crushing hug before roughly patting her back once she’s back on the ground, which leaves Lily to scoop him into a headlock.
“You’re not gonna be messin’ with my cuz like that, you hear me?” Lily lectures as Boone is scrambling to get out of her hold but one thing about Lily, she knew how to hold on.
Boone raises his hands in surrender once he realizes there maybe no way getting out of this, “okay lily, dang! What’s wrong with showing a little love?”
“You call that little?” Lily questions, “you may be 5’8 but that don’t mean you’re not heavy handed.”
Boone circles a hand behind her shoulder, ready to flip her over his shoulder, “I don’t appreciate my height slander, I’ve never had any complaints before! And if I’m heavy handed what do you call what you’re doin’ to me right now?!”
Javi pretends to eat popcorn at their interaction while Kate shoots Tyler a look who’s also watching in amusement. Once he catches Kate’s peiercing stare, he sighs before clapping it up and moving to break it up, “alright you two, knock it off. Our company just got here and you two are already actin’ like you don’t have some sense, at least give it a few hours before you start showing who you really are!”
He winks back at Tansy who chuckles as Tyler gets down on his knees which Lily actually has Boone on right now.
“Are these two always like this?” Tansy asks the remaining two she has yet to be introduced to yet, she hadn’t focused on the faces but she had absentmindedly moved towards them just before Lily pounced on Boone.
Dexter speaks since Dani seems to be in a bit of a trance, voice missing from her throat as her eyes scan over Tansy’s profile, “You haven’t seen a thing! I’m Dexter by the way, Chicago born and raised, father of one, widower, and scientist, glad to have you on the team.”
Tansy grins as she squeezes his hand, “Good to meet you Mr. Synopsis.”
Dexter shrugs with a sheepish smile, “I figured just a dash of info would be good for something considering who knows how long we’ll be working together.”
“A couple of weeks but…I appreciate it.”
Dani bumps his shoulder, “I told him to stop doing that when introducin’ himself to people…he’s got to leave a little to the imagination right? I’ve been trying to get him out of the streets to secure himself a new wife, now that’s he’s emotionally and mentally ready but don’t tell him I told you.”
Dexter pushes his glasses further up the bridge of his nose, “Just because i’m the eldest doesn’t mean my hearing has decreased, Danielle.”
“Oh not the full first name drop,” Dani sucks air between her teeth, “I’m not gonna hear the end of this am I?”
Dexter sends a warning finger at Dani, like a scolding uncle before he walks away to assist Tyler in Lily and Boone’s foolishness. If there was one thing Dexter was good at, it was straightening them all up to focus when it called for it. Definitely the voice of reason out of the bunch and they all valued it.
“Dani?” Tansy says, making Dani peek up from underneath her straw hat, “As in Danielle Sullivan from Spearfish, South Dakota?”
Dani got so caught up in her usual dynamic that just for a second she forgot who she was standing in front of again.
“In the flesh.” Dani awkwardly says, raising her hands before letting them slap back down by her thighs.
Tansy takes the time to scan over Dani’s features, “wooow…after all this time this is where you’ve ended up!? Being a Wrangler? Well…you look great.”
Dani offers a small smile, “you think? I don’t look too different from those days do I?”
“The short hair suits you, brings out your eyes a lot and those were always my favorite physical feature about you.” Tansy playfully shoves her shoulder.
Dani tilts her head to the side, “you sure? I thought it was my giving heart and broad shoulders.”
Tansy snorts out some laughter, “you haven’t changed one bit I see.”
“Well…” Dani starts but doesn’t want to make it too dark, although she’s been known for dry and awkward humor.
Tansy decides to pull off her black shades with the yellow tinted frames, “Bring it in…unless we have some unresolved beef we need to Duke out like my good cuz and Boone was it? Are doing?”
Dani let’s out a small laugh, reaching over to embrace Tansy, one arm going over her shoulders, the other holding the small of her back, while both of their chins rested in the other’s shoulders. Just leaning into each other like they used to when they were once teens. There wasn’t any beef but there were some things that Dani definitely wanted to talk about.
“Maybe later,” Dani whispers but Tansy picks up on her tone that it wasn’t a teasing manner.
When they step back, Tansy hooks the arm of her shades into her scoop neck tank top after holding Dani’s stare, now confirming that there were hidden meanings behind her eyes and she can respect it. They haven’t seen each other since conversion camp so it was only right now in their adulthood to have a conversation.
She clears her throat, aways finding Dani’s intensity from her eyes to be strong whereas Tansy’s usual low-lidded eyes always felt calm. Two contrasting storms that once spun away from each other just to possibly rise up again together…what a tale that could be!
“So you uh? Ride bikes now—
Dani starts but the loud voice of the curly haired freckled man—Javi, Tansy believed to be called caught everyone’s attention as he looked up from his device.
“Aye y’all! Something’s brewing NorthEast!”
Everyone paused, meeting whoever was nearest’s gaze before springing into action.
“I haven’t even settled in yet and we’re on go.” Tansy states as she starts making her way over to her bike.
Dani frowns, “you’re not gonna ride that thing into the storm are you?”
“It’s my baby and wouldn’t be the first time.” She slips her shades back over her eyes.
“Lily!” Dani calls out, jogging towards the RV.
Her stare snaps to Dani’s attention and Tansy found the situation humorous as Dani points in her direction before running to the passenger side of the RV. Lily is back at Tansy’s side who’s just about to swing her leg over her bike.
“I know you’re like a year older than me which makes you think you’re my boss and everything but…would you mind for the first ride, riding with me? I’ve always got the space.” Lily slightly fidgeted, not wanting to get into an argument over this and because she was ready for some action.
Tansy let’s out a loud sigh, head thrown back towards the gray skies and nods, “Because I don’t want be seen as difficult my first day on the job and because I love you so much, I’m gonna play by your rules…for now.”
Lily smacks Tansy’s upper arm in thanks, running off to her car while Tansy makes quick work to move her bike to lock up while the rest are quickly speeding out of the parking lot. Dani can’t help but to look back out the side mirror, making sure that Tansy kept her word as she tosses her belongings into the back of Lily’s van.
Dani lets out an exhale, sinking down in the passenger side as Dexter drives towards the storm.
“Something you want to get off your chest, Danielle?” Dexter questions from her left.
Which makes her sit up straight, “Nope! And stop with the full name drop, Dex! I know you’re not that annoyed with me for airing out your business…Tansy’s family…since you know Lily’s family.”
Dexter side eyed his road partner not believing her stumbled words, “uh huh.”
When they all make it to the location, each of the wranglers take their respective places. Boone’s got the camera focused straight on as Tyler goes into his routine introduction, Kate then explains over the blurring of the alarm in the distance that they’re about to send their multiple devices out to control the storm, Dorothy will be launched in x amount of minutes while Javi, Dani, and Dexter are positioning some solely on the ground while the rest will be equally dropped by the two main vehicles headed to play with the storm. Lily kept her car at an angle on the side by taking Tansy’s direction which Tyler picks up on and allowed after getting confirmation on the walkie on what they were doing.
“Let’s get going!” Tyler sent everyone off, climbing back into the driver’s seat with Kate taking Boone’s spot, which he scoffed at but bit back his protest since he also had cameras up front and on the sides of the rearview mirrors.
Dani watches in confusion while Dexter and Tyler race to get to the front of the upcoming storm, catching Tansy leaping out of the car while Lily launches her own drone out the drivers side window and up into the air. Tansy is setting up a mini tripod of her own right in front of Lily’s van on the ground, setting a camera right into its holder, making sure it was on before climbing back into the car as the wind whips her fro back from her forehead.
“That thing is as big as a go-pro, I know that’s not the only equipment she brought.” Dani thinks out loud.
Dexter knocks his knuckles against the short haired woman’s thigh, “heads up, brace yourself.” He warns as he skirts off to the side, the road becoming bumpy now that they’re in the grass while Dani attempts to focus, hands scrambling along the dashboard to launch Dorothy’s Toto’s, which Dani liked to call the S.P.S (sodium polyacrylate solution) that was inside of Dorothy.
They drive into the ditch, hearing the heavy clunking of the barrels dropping behind them not long ago. Dani exhales while Dexter does the talking into the walkie, letting everyone know their part was completed while Tyler and the rest kept racing towards another twister right up ahead. Once they got close enough, Tyler whips the car to the left so it’s back is to the twirling storm, bars digging into the soil the same time as the barrels dropped. The rain pelts the windows, making it hard for both Dani and Dexter to see anything else that’s going on around them despite the wipers to the RV trying to keep up.
The adrenaline is always high once you’re in the brunt of it but that’s what fed the thrill seeking. It’s not long before the twisters attempt to whip through, began to tamper off all thanks to the barrels.
“…And that there everyone, is how it’s done!”Tyler’s voice comes through the walkies.
Dani grins as she high-fived Dexter with Lily’s voice coming in soon after, “That’s how you take on a EF2 everybody! And we got some pretty interesting footage on both ends.”
“Can’t wait to see that!” Boone chimes in before Tyler continues, “Javi’s calling it in now, let’s do the round up around town before we clock back into the motel.”
“You got it boss.” Dani speaks into the walkie as Dexter starts to reverse out of the ditch who directs from her side.
And that’s just what they do, scavenge the town to see what damage was done before it truly touched the town. The success of Toto was unimaginable and only made this journey more inspiring. Dani always believed in reasons and maybe the destruction was a metaphor that led to this incredible future.
Most of the damage came from the high winds thankfully, some roofs half torn off, foundations slightly shifted, debris, and large trees snapped. Although minor in their eyes compared to an EF5, there was still damage and The Wranglers made it their mission to further assist the people of Kansas.
After a long few hours, they’ve made it back to their temporary home, sitting around or in the drained out pool, making a bonfire of their own—as usual. Dexter stuck around for at least twenty minutes before calling it a night, since he had a whole routine and had to set up his sleep apnea machine that made him appear as if he was in an alien film, which was as loud as ever but they all wished him a good night before further enjoying each other’s company.
“My guy’s coming ‘round in the morning to drop off the rest of my things.” Dani can hear Tansy speaking from beside Boone who’s got his laptop perched up against his knees as they reviewed her footage, “did the best with what I have and he would have been here earlier but he got caught up in an accident on the highway.”
Boone scoffs, “if these are the type of shots you’re getting with just that tiny but mighty cam, then I can’t wait to see what you do with the big boys!”
“Nice work Tansy.” Tyler squeezes her shoulder from behind, “I knew you would fit right in.”
“Why thank you, kind sir.” She clinks her can against his beer bottle as he circled from behind the two to head over to Kate who’s sitting on the edge of the pool, peering up at the sky.
A nudge to Dani’s arm, makes her bring her attention to a hazel eyed Javi who she forgot took Dexter’s spot beside her inside of the pool. He’s lounging in Dexter’s folding chair while she’s seated on the pool floor with her palms behind her.
“Why don’t you just go over there and talk to her?” Javi asked, making Dani widen her eyes, “you’ve been holding onto every word she’s been saying to everyone else, so either y’all got history or you got a crush—or maybe both I dunno but I pay attention to shit you know?”
Dani scratches at the back of her head, “I uh—don’t know what you’re talkin’ about Jav.”
“Yeah you do,” Javi lolls his head to look at the woman, “one thing I learned is that you miss out on the chances you don’t take…being scared is normal though. You just got to rip the band aid off, especially if she’s gonna be with us for some time. And from what I can tell, Tansy got the right technique that only adds to this group so it maybe longer than we all expect.”
Dani groans with her head thrown back, “you’re right but I don’t want you to be right…I hate having confrontations.”
“But it don’t gotta be like that,” Javi says, “When I reconnected with Kate, my approach wasn’t with my chest all puffed up or anything like that. I knew the person she was in college and knew she still had it in her, so I only wanted to bring the spark she still had back out of her but she had to see it herself with only a little push…and the rest is history. From what I can tell, you both held onto each other earlier and it was a nice Kodak moment or whatever! So in my eyes, there’s still hope.”
Dani listened and realized that her new found friend might be right.
“Look at you, Javi Rivera the storm chasing advice columnist!”
Javi smirks, “I dabble, I dabble. What we have here, is Storm Dansy?” He pauses trying to see if Dani liked this ship name but she gives a shaky hand, which meant it still needed work, “is possibly a EF2, much like the storm we saw today. Or maybe even a EF1 but you’ll never know unless you get up on it.”
He spins his finger like the motion of a tornado before pointing at her.
Dani lets out a deep sigh with a roll of her own head. “Alright, alright! You don’t need to throw anymore hints at me, Mr. Miami Nights.”
“Sí mami, you got this!” Javi started to clap it up but Dani kicks her feet at him, shushing him but he laughs mockingly placing a hand over his mouth, “I’ll be around if or when you’re ready to tell me about it.”
Dani works to get to her feet, “well thanks.”
“Don’t mention it,” Javi states and holds his hand out for her hat, “I’ll take that, thank you. I need it to block out the moonlight. It’s a little too bright for me.”
“Fuck are you, a werewolf or something?” Dani frowns as he plucks her straw hat from her fingertips to tip onto his own head.
Javi snorts, “they glow in the moonlight sis, I glow all the time, feel me?”
“Oh brother, bye Javi!”
“Good luck! And don’t forget to thank me later.” Javi calls out to Dani’s retreating form, who makes work of climbing out of the empty pool.
Lily watches from the almost out bonfire, not too far from the pair, taking a final bite of her s’more quietly seeing what Dani is up to but makes no move to follow her.
Dani’s wringing her hands about as she stands a good distance from Tansy and Boone who are sharing some fruit that she had stashed away in a cooler she also tossed into Lily’s van in a haste. She’s always been a fruit girl, no pun intended preferring it as breakfast or having it for dessert. The mostly blonde woman is going to town on some pineapple while Boone is cradling a container of watermelon, making the most obnoxious slurping sounds possible that it reminds Dani of all those ASMR videos she hates.
“Dani Danz! What’s happening baby?” Boone calls out to the short haired woman who finally worked up the nerve to stand before the two.
She pinches her aching side, “nothin’, nothin’.”
Boone laughs as he glances at Tansy who’s now holding his laptop but also chewing on her choice of fruit, “you sure? You look like you’re about to upchunk or something.”
“It was the nachos from last night!” Dani exasperates, “…but it’s a nice night we’re having, I mean considering—the state of the environment a few hours ago.”
“Tell me about it.” Boone says, “we just keep getting better and better. Next thing you know we might be able to control the weather on a daily!”
She did not want to piss off mother nature.
Dani shrugs, “eh…I rather just build and fix things. That feels like too much responsibility on our shoulders.”
“Right, right. You never know though!”
“Nope,” Dani agrees with a thumb going through the air awkwardly, “uh Boone, do you mind if I borrow Tansy for a little?”
Boone pushes out his lips pouting some, “I guess! We can start editing tomorrow, huh Tan-Tan?” He brings her into the conversation although she seemed zoned out viewing Lily’s footage.
“Sure, yeah! My eyes can use a break anyway.” She hands the computer back over, “you seriously need to invest in some cleaning supplies for your computer…don’t know if you know this but it’s oddly sticky.”
Dani snickers at Boone who huffs as he jumps to his feet, “and that’s what you still have to learn about me, baby! I play by my own rules and I love a good snack!”
Tansy wipes her fingertips along her jean shorts with a stretched out smile while Boone debates who he wants to bug next: Kate and Tyler, Lily, or a snoring Javi. Dani shakes her head and takes Boone’s chair with a relaxed sigh.
“That’s Boone for you.”
“Interesting character,” Tansy nods with her head back, making Dani laugh as she gazed at her side profile.
They fall into silence for some time but the nagging feeling on Dani’s side was beginning to overpower her that she couldn’t sit still.
“What—
Tansy starts just as Dani says, “I—
They both smile with Dani holding her hand out, “No you go ahead.”
Tansy holds out the last pineapple ring for Dani to take but she declines, “how’d you end up in Arkansas? That’s where the Wranglers were all founded and where your main setup is based right?”
Dani blows out a raspberry, “the short version? After I left SD, I hitch-hiked a lot and even got into some underground fighting for cash since the regular jobs were too demeaning. I quickly got tired of doing that too and eventually ended up working in this gym fixing the equipment in exchange to be able to work out there. Then I met Tyler.”
Tansy raised her brows, “i just imagined him running the treadmill in his hat and boots.”
Dani furrows her brows but spits out a laugh, “that’s specific but no it was outside of the gym one night up the street actually. His car was broken down and he was blabbing about his friend, Boone throwing a fit because he left him at the diner chasing after some girl. He was trying to get back to him since he knew the girl was a lost cause.”
“Did that girl so happen to be Ms. Kate?”
Dani laughed, “oh nooo. Big difference from Kate! This girl was a red-head asshole from Delaware. She wasn’t ever after Tyler’s heart and Boone and I tried to tell him but Tyler’s always got to see for himself. He’s like a big brother—although we’re only a few months apart—he likes to give you the floor, kinda like throwing you into a arena with a bull, show what you’re made of before offering any inputs. Him and Javi are similar in that way i don’t think they see it but…Tyler really brought me in and treated me as if I was one of his own. Much like he does everyone on this team…and you know I don’t got family anymore so it took time for me to accept what he was putting down.”
That Tansy did know.
They learned a lot of each other being forced into a conversion camp together at just fourteen. Dani’s family were heavily religious and when she came out to them, they weren’t having that and didn’t hesitate to find a way to get, “rid of it,” since praying was not enough. She was an only child but used to be extremely close to her parents growing up but once her father found a home in a church he liked to call his saving grace, everything changed.
“I’m happy that you got out and found a solid group of people that love you for who you are.” Tansy closes the container of fruit.
Dani nods, “…I never forgot about you though.”
Tansy sharply inhales, “we don’t have to do this. Yeah we were both caught off guard not seeing each other since we were what? You about turn eighteen and me being seventeen. There’s no hard feelings—
“I don’t feel like that’s true though,” Dani admits, “I thought about you nearly every day, even convinced Tyler to take a drive back just to find you with some guy—that same guy that’s probably bringing your equipment in the morning right?”
Tansy frowns, “wait a minute…are you serious? You came back to a trauma filled town for what reason? Guilt? You left me, Dani. Life went on and then you left again because of what you thought you saw without a word…do you hear how fucked that sounds?”
“…it’s sounds like you’re not denying it,” Dani finds herself saying before thinking over her words, “I was twenty-one and my one wish was to see you—
“To do what, exactly? Treat me like Cinderella’s glass slipper?” Tansy’s eyes are in slits now, “Newsflash she wore her damn shoe the best that she could, it never broke. You searched for me sure but you looked for an out and you took it like a repeat offender.”
Dani yells now, “I had to! If you were okay settling for that shit show then that was on you. I begged you to leave with me but you were traumatized and I don’t fault you for that. Ever. It hurt me to the core only imagining what you continued to endure without me there to take half of it but I made the effort. I got out and I hoped for the day I had the chance to see you again because I loved you with my entire being, button.”
Two things were tossed into the night sky, Dani’s feelings and the old nickname from their childhood.
Her knees are brushing the side of Tansy’s thigh now but Tansy’s eyes are elsewhere.
Dani attempts to reach for her, “Please look at me, button.”
“Don’t call me that,” Tansy rips her arm from Dani’s grasp, “we’re not kids anymore and I don’t think we have anything else to talk about. I loved you too, you knew that. I told you that before you left into the night. You held onto that somehow while you became the person you are now. I’m happy for you, I truly am but we don’t need to dwell on the past. I’m only here for two weeks and then I’ll make my own exit, something we’ll both be good at.”
She stands up collecting her things.
There’s this panic in Dani’s voice, “…y-you say you’re happy for me but it really sounds like you’re upset…where are you going? We can talk this out, we have the time…”
“I came here to work, Dani.” Tansy suddenly says slipping her arms into her zip up hoodie, “Not walk down memory lane. I said there’s no hard feelings so let’s just leave it at that, okay? Goodnight.”
And with that Tansy spins on her heels, leaving the pool behind the gate. Dani makes crescents into her palms, face burning red as she chews on her bottom lip.
“Hey! The hell was that?” Lily calls out since the rest won’t but they’re all staring now.
Tyler takes a different approach, “you good?”
“No.” Dani massages her side as she gets to her feet while Javi is staring over underneath his eyelashes, “I…I’m gonna go to bed too guys.”
Kate hums, “only if you’re sure you’re alright…you’ve been rubbing your side all day.”
Dani laughs it off but ain’t nothing funny right now, “It’s just nerves.”
“I thought it was the nachos.” Boone speaks up, brows raised and hands crossed on top of his head.
Dani clenched her eyes shut, “I’m fine guys, really!”
Lily comments, “Tansy didn’t look fine.”
“I think she’s pretty cute.” Boone shrugs just for Lily to roll her eyes, although if she was sitting closer to him she would have plucked the back of his head.
Dani knees wobbled as she stood, ignoring the words of her team as she starts making her exit feeling the determination fight through the sharp pain in her side while the group started to bicker amongst themselves.
“Hold up, Were those two ever an item?” Boone attempts to connect the dots, seeking answers from Lily after seeing Dani disappear.
Lily lifts her shoulders, “the hell should I know? I’ve been in Arkansas all this time and Tanny in South Dakota far as I know. She’s built this shell around herself, at least when it comes to her love life.”
Javi chuckles with a stretch, “I been clocked that.”
“What?” Kate asks.
Javi responds with a exhale as he sits up from his stretch, “That they’re the classic: forbidden lovers trope.”
They all meet each other’s fixed stare.
“Well…for their sakes I hope they figure it out.” Tyler concludes, staring after where the two disappeared off to.
Lily laughs, “I think you should look in the mirror, bud.”
“He does plenty of that.” Kate mutters with a smirk at Tyler who playfully glared at her, “I’m going to crash too you guys, see you in the mornin’.”
They all shortly follow, picking up their things and cleaning up before returning to their own quarters for the night.
“Tansy, please let me in.” Dani wasn’t ever too proud to beg, “if you don’t, I’ll just sleep out here all night and I know you can’t stomach the thought of that. Ever since that hell camp leader would make the runt sleep outside in the heatwave and thunderstorms all because he couldn’t keep up with his brothers and sisters.”
Dani’s got her back resting against the door now since her knocks weren’t getting Tansy to open the door. She’s just about to squat to get comfortable for the night but the door is swung open, making Dani fall back against Tansy’s feet.
“Hi button,” Dani starts as she peeks up at Tansy who’s thrown her mountain of hair on top of her head, “fancy seeing you here.”
“Come in already you big goof.”
Dani rolls onto her side and pushes herself off Tansy’s feet, who steps back into the room, leaving the taller of the two to close and lock the door behind them. She slowly makes her way to sit beside Tansy, thigh to thigh as she’s now undressed and ready for bed in a cami and striped boxer shorts.
Tansy is playing with her hands now, “…I don’t know what else there is left to say and I’m not really one for big speeches.”
“Just speak from your heart.”
“Ew, feelings.” Tansy scrunches up her nose in disgust while Dani rolls her eyes, holding out her hand which Tansy hesitates to put in hers, “all I know…seeing you again after all these years tells me that I haven’t stopped missing you.”
Dani squeezes her hand, “so much time has passed but as corny as it sounds…it definitely slowed down once I realized who I was seeing again. The girl who had my heart with even bigger hair now.”
Tansy laughs, “did I really appear to you in slo-mo getting off my beloved bike like a cliché rom-com?”
“My brain had to slow down while my heart was drumming like a metal band.”
“Glad to know I still have effect on you Dani Sullivan.” Tansy bumps her shoulder with her’s while Dani scowls.
“I’d like to know what effect I have on you…if any?” Dani informs while Tansy rests her cheek on her shoulder.
Tansy rasps, “More than you know. A lifetimes worth probably. I didn’t forget you either, Dani. How could I? My first love.”
“It was an honor.” Dani whispers.
Two weeks.
They had two weeks to reconnect and decide where to go from here, if anywhere. It was a long afternoon, now late into the night and sleep was knocking at the door harder than Dani was. Tansy invited Dani to sleep beside her, who respectfully wanted to sleep outside of the covers but Tansy remembered Dani was the type to sleep with socks on because her feet always got cold in the night, ever since she had her tonsils removed when she was like twelve…it’s been a thing.
Which made Tansy believe she was crazy but you had to be a little off your rocker if you chased storms for a living.
What did this say about Tansy now that she was on the team (temporarily) as a hi-hat and editor? There was a saying that if things came back to you then maybe it was meant to be.
Dani commonly went to sleep on her back and isn’t sure when they both fell asleep but this was the peace she hasn’t had at night in a long time. She rolls her head to the right away from the door, nose being tickled by soft hair while also feeling a nose pressed against her bare shoulder. Dani blinks into the night, recalling where she is and who’s next to her.
Peeking down it’s Tansy who’s on her side, arm looped right with Dani’s right arm as she’s in her own slumber. Dani can’t help but to raise a hand to hold Tansy’s head in place as she places a kiss right at her brow.
“I think I still am smitten with you button…but I guess we’ll have to see.” Dani’s tone is hushed as she speaks into the early morning where the sky is still navy and closes her own eyes once more but keeps her head turned towards Tansy instead of the door.

Chasing the Wind
Tumblr media
a/n: I am so excited to actually be doing this. I did not go into this movie thinking I would want to write something, but came out of it in love with Kate Carter. Unfortunately, the gays need to be fed and there were next to no wlw fics with Kate so I took it upon myself to write one. I don’t know how far into this I’ll go, but I’m planning on going all the way through the movie and after. Reblogs and comments are much appreciated!
Pairing: Kate Carter x fem!oc
Summary: Carol was content with the way her life had went after the accident. She had a fun job chasing storms and a good family around her. Her whole world changed when a meteorologist from New York comes riding into her life leading her on the chase of her life.
Warnings: mild language, incorrect meteorology
Word Count: 2.6k
“Ty, get your heavy ass body off of me.” Carol shoves the man off of her half asleep body. The sun was barely peeking over the motel parking lot, lighting the inside of the trailer with a warm glow. The sunlight neary blinded her, but Tylers figure laying on top of her blocked the sun’s rays from hitting her face
Tyler chucked. “Come on now Carol, you know you love me.” Tyler shimmied his way off of Carol’s bed putting his hat on his head.
“Do I now?” She rolled off of the bed getting ready for Tyler’s bullshit. He stuck his finger in her face jokingly, “Yeah, you do,” but quickly pulled it back when she went to bite it. “Hey,” He yelped, waking up Boone in the process. “I need that for my very important job.”
Carol smirked up at him, kicking Boone in the shin, “Come on Booney baby we gotta get up and running so Tyler doesn’t lose his very important job” Boone mumbles something incoherent from his position on the floor, pulling his blanket over his head. Tyler laughs sarcastically making his way out of the trailer.
Carol tied her hair up in a low bun and followed him out of the RV jumping on his back. Tyler groaned at the extra weight, but wrangled her onto his back. “So Tyler, what are your plans for today? Woo more women by putting your face on a T-shirt?” Tyler’s body shook with a chuckle and let out a long sigh.
“You say that as if you don’t do the same thing Caroline.” He said, drawing out her name with an obnoxious drawl. The woman turned her head to face him, an offended look on her face.
“First of all, don't call me that,” She glared, “Second of all, I will have you know, I can get some without slapping my face on a t-shirt.” She rolled her eyes. “I’ve got some good looks and even better southern charm” She shot him an innocent look. He dropped her off her place on his back, leaving her to catch herself before she fell to the ground.
“Hey!” She exclaimed. He chuckled at the glare she sent him.
“Yea, you’re a real charmer Devon!” He yelled over his shoulder on his way to wake up the rest of the gang.
-
“Alright Wranglers, this is Ben. He's gonna be doing a piece ‘bout how we live on this side of the pond.” Carol introduced the nervous man standing between her and Tyler. “I want y’all to be on your best behavior. That means you Ty.”
The man in question rolled his eyes at her crossing his arms over his body. He threw a smirk at her, inclining his head. It was a silent promise that he wasn’t going to be on his best behavior. The group watched as the two spoke silently to each other using only their weird facial expressions.
“Yes and I hope you’ll be taking precautions to ensure my safety.” Ben’s face twisted into concern realizing what he’s gotten himself into, or who he’s gotten himself into.
Dani laughed at the nervous man, teasing him. “Don’t get too skittish around the tornadoes Ben. They don’t bite.” Carol chuckled at Dani, looking at the British man whose face turned white as a sheet.
Carol shrugged, “She’s not wrong, you’ll be just fine.” The man dabbed his forehead with a napkin nervously.
“Don’t worry too much Ben, you’ll ride with me.” Tyler patted the man on the shoulder and hopped into his truck. Ben followed shortly after, with Carol taking the front seat.
“And if you fear it...” Tyler trailed off, turning his head to Carol, grinning.
“Ride it.” Carol finished beaming at the blond man beside her. Tyler whooped rolling down the windows and sped off the motel parking lot, kicking up dirt behind them.
Carol started recording on all of the truck’s cameras and her handheld camera, pointing it at Tyler. “DJ Carol, what are we rocking with today?” Tyler said in an announcer voice. The girl just smiled, shaking her head at his antics she put her favorite mixtape into the sound system, turning the volume up to blast Luke Combs out the windows.
Sticking her head out the open window, Carol hollered out into the wind. There was nothing better than this. Just her, her family and the beauty of the storm. The wind whipped her hair in her face as she took in the morning air.
Tyler drove in front of Dexter and Lily towards the best lookout in the town, the local gas station,  where everyone scoped out the sky. Carol pointed her camera at Tyler, “Ty, the people want to know, what product do you put in your hair to keep it so pretty?” He let out a full belly laugh before answering to the camera with a smirk.
“Sorry y’all, it’s all genetics. I’m just naturally pretty.” Carol laughed at him and his teasing. She pointed the camera towards herself. “Guys, he wants the edits. Someone edit that.”
They pulled up to the lookout where groups of people dressed in rain gear and cameras hanging from their necks waited for them to pull up. “Looky here T, it’s StormPar.” Carol hung herself out the window and restarted the Luke Combs song, capturing on the camera the groups of people that came in to go chasing.
“Hey StormPar, we’re live on Youtube, say something cool!” The woman showed the live stream the members of the pristine looking group of storm chasers.
“Blow me.” One of them shouted out to her. Carol laughed at the man and turned the camera back to herself, smirking. “You wish I would. Come on, science is fun, right?” She whooped out at the crowd of people.
Exiting the car, Tyle was swarmed by the crowd of fans. Boone ran up to him, pointing the camera at him. “Hey T! Tell the folks at home how you’re feeling.” Tyler smiled at the sky.
“I’m feeling pretty good, Boone” He turned to the crowd with a smile on his face. “And if you feel it…” He hollered.
“Chase it!” The crowd yelled back at him.
Carol looked at the crowd standing on the other side of the truck. Standing on top of the truck she yelled into the crowd, “He said if you feel it…”
“Chase it!” They screamed back to her, cheering. Carol hopped down next to Tyler. Boone pointed the live stream at himself and Tyler.
“Oh, it’s a beautiful day.” Tyler said, helping Carol down into the crowd.
“Beautiful day!” Boone exclaimed to the camera.
Carol turned to look at the crowd of people and locked eyes with a blond woman standing with StormPar. Tyler patted her shoulder turning her towards Dani who busted open the door to the RV. “Hey, you tornado nerds! Who wants a T-shirt?” The crowd cheered, pulling a laugh out of Carol.
She turned back to look at the blonde woman only to find that she was already looking at her. Carol tipped her hat at her with a smirk. She looked way too serious to be storm chasing, but since she was standing with StormPar, she probably needed to loosen up a little.
“Hey Dani!” Carol yelled to her friend, “How many shirts of me do we have left in stock?” The woman disappeared back into the RV for a second.
“We’ve got three left. Why?” Dani came back out holding three shirts with Carol’s face on them depicting her corralling a tornado with a lasso and some cheesy storm chasing line on it.
“I’ll sign the last three shirts for the people that buy them.” She told the crowd. She was met with yells of excitement and cheering from the group. She heard Tyler laugh from next to her.
Boone pointed the live stream at her, pointing a finger at her grinning face. “Casanova strikes again. T, I don’t think you’re the heartthrob of the group anymore.” Carol laughed at Boone’s teasing, sticking her tongue out at Tyler.
She walks over to the people who bought her shirt and signed them, taking a picture with a few of the folks. “Alright, I’ll see you guys out there. Be safe!” She turned away from the crowd only to find the blonde woman walking off looking at the sky. Tyler came over to her and followed her line of sight.
Looking back and forth between the two, Tyler saw a look he hadn't seen in a long time. He nudged her with his shoulder raising his eyebrows at the shorter girl who just rolled her eyes. “I know that look.” He swayed back and forth on his feet. “If you don't do it I will.”
Carol looked at him surprised. They both knew what that meant. “You need to get out there Carol.” He mumbled.
Without saying a word she started walking towards the blonde. Carol watched her delicately pick up a dandelion and let the seeds fly out of her hand.
“You know I used to do that.” Carol strode up behind the woman, trying not to startle her. The blonde looked back to her for a second then turned away looking mildly annoyed. Carol looked out at the sky. “Compare the wind direction to cloud movement. Get you a feel for the shear.” Carol looked at the cloud formation in the east, then the one in the west, then back to the woman who still hadn’t given her a second look.
Carol walked up to stand next to the blonde. She was slightly taller than the woman, but that might have just been because of the lifts in her boots. She put her hands on her hips, looking out at the sky again. “Yea. I believe old ways are better than the new sometimes.”
The blonde looked up at Carol for a brief second, then turned back to the sky, comparing the two cloud formations like Carol had done. Realizing that the woman wasn’t going to say anything, Carol pushed a bit more.
“So, where you coming in from? California? Cause I think y’all got enough natural disasters going on over there.” Carol said somewhat jokingly. The woman next to her swallowed and let out a curt, “New York.”
Carol looked back to the woman next to her, scanning her side profile. Slightly surprised that the woman answered her question.  “Well, you’re a long way from home, city girl. You come out all this way to see our slice of the country or do you like working for StormPar?”
Carol turned to look at the fancy trucks StormPar brought and back at the woman who turned to look back at her. Before either of them could speak, Ben jogged up to them. “Caroline, do we know which storm we’re going after yet? Tyler said you would know.” Ben was slightly apprehensive to even ask.
Carol turned to look at Ben. “Carol is fine.” She said, turning to look at the woman she still didn’t know the name of. “Well why don’t we ask-” She trailed off pointing to the blonde standing next to her.
“Kate.”
The woman turned around to greet Ben then turned towards Carol. Pleased with her progress, Carol gave Kate a warm smile, making eye contact. “Hi, Kate. I'm Caroline, but everyone calls me Carol.” She stared unabashedly at the shorter girl. She was fascinating.
Kate
Beautiful was out of the question, anyone with eyes could see that she was absolutely stunning. The way her hair fell perfectly framing her face. Her lips were pursed in annoyance, but Caol could see how kissable they looked. Kate’s brown eyes locked with Carol's green ones and she could swear that she couldn’t look away if she tried.
Kate
Ben looked back and forth between the two women. He reached his hand out to shake, introducing himself. “And I’m Ben. I’m a reporter doing a piece on American storm chasing.” Ben stuttered slightly introducing himself. Kate shook his hand firmly, giving him a polite smile.
Breaking out from her daze, Carol caught up with what was being said and looked down at her hands, fiddling with them. “Yeah.”
“Caroline and Tyler are letting me ride along.” He said with a nervous, but excited smile.
Carol looked back up at Ben with a smile “Yeah, Ben just had to promise to write nothing but good stuff about me. And call me Carol, Ben.” She patted him lightly on the chest with a chuckle.
Kate looked politely between the two before dismissing herself. “Well, good luck with that.” She started walking away from the two, when Carol stepped in to stop her.
Carol didn’t want the short conversation to end. “Hang on.” Kate stopped and turned back around to make eye contact with Carol. Carol looked down, not being able to hold eye contact with the shorter girl for long.
“You didn’t say which way we were going yet.” She chuckled. Looking around at the sky, Carol pointed west towards the double formation. “Now, from what I gather, west, we double our chances.” Spinning around gesturing behind her. “East, well,” She looked back at the shorter woman, "it's high risk, high reward.”
Kate nodded in a mocking manner, clearly unimpressed with Carol's quick explanation. “Well, go for the reward.” She told her. “You don’t want Ben to think you're boring.”
Carol nodded in agreement with a small smile. “No, boring is not usually a problem I run into, Kate.” Kate just nodded, struck with just how egotistical Carol was. Two could play at that game.
Kate turned to point towards the left, “The two cells to the west are fighting over the same inflow.” She took a few steps closer to Carol to square up to her with a cocky smile. Kate looked at Ben, seemingly to explain to him, but really to show Carol, she knew what she was talking about. “They’ll choke each other out.”
She looked at Carol and nodded her head to the east, pointing at the clouds. “This one to the east, well, she has the sky all to herself.”
Kate tilted her head to look around Carol’s larger figure. Carol followed her line of sight, looking out at the clouds there. “Moisture, wind shear, instability.” Kate looked up at Carol again who stared back at her impressed. “All the things you need to give Ben a good show.”
Kate turned and started walking back to the gas station, proud of her show of knowledge. Carol was stunned by Kate. Not only was she beautiful, she was alluring. Knowledgeable and quick witted.
“Well color me impressed, city girl knows her stuff, Ben.” Carol said to Kate’s retreating form. After getting no reaction, Carol repeated louder, “I said city girl knows her stuff, Ben.”
Kate whipped around with a proud smile, “Thanks. Maybe if I work real hard, I can be a tornado wrangler, too.” She said sarcastically, with a shrug walking back towards the rest of StormPar.
Carol watched her retreat back to her group, taking in the whole conversation.
Kate
‘I want to see her smile like that again.’ Carol thought to herself. Maybe if she made a fool of herself by chasing a tornado who’s cap would never break, Kate would smile at her like that again.
Carol watched Kate approach Javi and Scott, talking to them about where they were going to chase today.
Tyler walked up to her, watching the StormPar trucks roll out. “So,” He said looking at her dazed expression, “how’d the chase go?” She looked up at his amused smile.
“Shut up.” She punched the side of his arm while he let out a laugh.
Ben looked confused at both of them “I thought she told us east.” He looked back and forth from the retreating trucks to Tyler and Carol. “She going the wrong way?”
Tyler looked down at Carol, who broke into a smile. Putting her sunglasses on her face she looked at Ben, “Nope.”

Oh, Baby
Tumblr media
Tyler Owens x fem!reader
summary: your boyfriend Tyler decides he wants to have a baby with you after seeing you hold your niece
cw: MDNI (18+) smut (p in v) unprotected sex (wrap it before you smack it) breeding kink
based on this request by @thespillingvoid
The sun beat down on the patio where everyone was sitting. Your family had invited you and Tyler over for a barbecue watching you lounge in your parents pool was doing things to him. Seeing your tits practically spilling out of your bikini top made him want to pull you into your parents guest bedroom and have his way with you, wanting to worship your body in all the ways you deserved. Even though he had done exactly that that morning.
But that red color just did something to him, the way it complimented your skin. And you knew what you were doing, knowing that he loved the color on you. Wearing it just to mess with his head.
And when he saw you playing with your niece? It was all over for him. She was giggling as you tickled her, holding her close to you as she sat with you in your float. The two of you had watched her multiple times so he had no idea why he was feeling different.
You had discussed having children eventually, but seeing you being so gentle and caring with Autumn, he knew he wanted to get right to it.
Thinking about the two of you having a baby of your own, it was making him thinking of turning the guest room into a nursery. He could imagine you rocking your little girl to sleep, singing to her just like you did to him when he couldn’t sleep.
He wanted to buy all the cute clothes and watch your families gush over how adorable she was. He wanted to be right there after you gave birth, holding her while you got some rest, looking down at her as he thought about how she was a product of nothing but the love between you and him.
“Tyler?” Your mom asked, trying to get his attention.
“Sorry?” He asked, tearing his gaze away from you to look at your mother.
“I asked if you’d like a slice of apple pie, but it seems you’re a little distracted,” she teased with a chuckle.
"I'd love a slice, but I can get it." He did want to give your mother a break, but most importantly, he needed to have some time to himself. He needed to get out of his head for a little while.
Tyler headed into the house, making a beeline for the bathroom, almost tripping over himself as he did so. He just couldn't stop thinking about how much he wanted to have a baby with you and how he was going to bring it up to you.
Once inside the bathroom, he turned on the faucet and splashed some water on his face, but as he did so, there were flashes of him giving his baby girl a bath in that very sink as you stood behind him, telling him how good of a job he was doing.
As he reached for the wash cloth, he could imagine using it to dry her off and the two of you would look down at her with nothing but love. He had no idea what was happening, but what he did know what that he needed to speak to you. And fast.
And Just as he was about to open the door to go find you, you opened the door, your signature bright smile on your lips as you looked at him, leaning against the door jamb. You were a little wet from the pool and Tyler watched the water droplets roll down your body that wasn't covered up by a towel.
"Why's your face wet?" You asked, your eyebrows furrowing.
"Let's talk in here," he took your hand and led you to the guest room, closing the door behind him. You watched him, deciding that there was definitely something going on that he wasn't telling you.
"What's going on, Ty? You can talk to me."
He grabbed hold of your towel and pulled you close, the two of you coming toe to toe, your noses brushing. You could feel his breath on your face and you closed your eyes in preparation for a kiss.
"I want to have a baby," he whispered and your eyes shot open, widening as you looked up at him.
"What?" You whispered back, holding onto his arms to steady yourself.
"I want to have a baby," he repeated, his voice a normal tone this time. "Can't you see it? A little you running around?"
"Where is this coming from?" You let out a chuckle, finding his excitement adorable.
"I was watching you with Autumn and I don't know...I could just see it happening. I know we talked about it and I don't want you to feel pressured.”
"I don't," you shook your head. "Let's have a baby, Tyler," you whispered before pressing your lips to his.
His arms wrapped around your waist while yours went to his neck, pulling him closer to you as you slipped your tongue into his mouth, moaning as you let it roam around his mouth.
Tyler's hands slowly dipped lower, grabbing onto the backs of your thighs as he lifted, helping you wrap your legs around him. One hand landed on his shoulder while the other moved up to his hair, your fingers grabbing onto his as he bit down on your bottom lip, causing a whimper to fall from your lips.
He threw you down onto the bed and lowered himself so that he was at your stomach. He peppered it with kisses while telling you just how much he was looking forward to seeing the baby growing inside of you, watching your stomach get bigger.
"You’re gonna look so hot,” he breathed as he spread your legs. “And would you look at that, you’re already wet for me.”
“Tyler, I was just in the pool.”
“Don’t lie to me, we both know what this is,” he said as he grabbed onto the waistband, pulling the bottoms of your bathing suit down. “You wore this to torture me, didn’t you?”
“You know I did. Now are you going to yap the entire time or are you going to fuck me?”
In response to that, he grabbed onto your hips and pounded into you, feeling your hands press against his back as your nails scratched down it.
“Fuck, darlin’, slow down,” he winced before letting out a chuckle. His fingers dug into your hips as he continued to pound into you, wanting you to feel every inch of him. He wanted this to be something you both remembered for the rest of your lives, whether you got pregnant or not.
“Well, you're taking your sweet time." His pace picked up, sliding in and out of you at a rapid pace so that your moans were louder now. Tyler quickly covered your mouth, trying to muffle the sounds considering that your family was right outside.
"We have to be quiet, honey," he whispered. "You don't want to get caught, do you?"
You shook your head as he continued, grabbing hold of your legs and wrapping them around his waist as lowered himself down onto you, pressing his lips to yours in a gentle kiss.
Your lips moved together as best as they could as his pace slowed down, wanting to use his lips to muffle your moans as best as he could. He swallowed every single one of your sounds with his mouth, but he could see tell that you were close, not wanting to miss his favorite part.
He watched you underneath him as he pounded into you over and over, clenching around his cock as you cried for him. Your head was thrown back and your eyes shut tight as you reached your peak, trying your best to keep your screams quiet, but it was no use.
Your back arched underneath him as he cheered you on, helping you lie back on the mattress. Once you had come down, he collapsed next to you, pulling your sweaty body to his chest.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too." And just when he was shutting his eyes, you looked up at him, your eyes dark.
"Sit up," you commanded. "It's my turn."
"Yes ma'am," he responded with a nod and did as you asked and sat up, resting his back against the headboard.
You grabbed onto his shoulders and climbed on top of him, settling yourself on his cock, wanting to make him feel as good as he made you feel. Your movements were slow in comparison but Tyler still seemed to be into it as his hands moved to rest against your back.
You watched him underneath you, he seemed tired, but still eager to whatever you wanted just like always. Your lips found his in a messy kiss as you kept up your pace, Tyler's hips bucking against yours in response.
"You're gonna look so hot, swear to god," he mumbled against your lips, bucking his hips again, a moan falling from his lips to your own. "I'm going crazy just thinking about it."
"Well, let's just hope this one sticks, hm?" You asked as you picked up your pace, Tyler's grip on you tightening as threw his head back, another loud moan falling from his lips. He was close, you could tell.
You moved faster and harder, watching him losing it underneath you, telling you just how much he was going to worship your pregnant belly and how he would talk to the baby, saying all of this in between the delicious sounds he was making.
Tyler's eyes clouded over as reached his peak, his fingers curling into your back as he came and came, telling you how much he loved you and how much he was going to love your baby. He already had names picked out, no matter what you were having.
As he was coming down, you laid yourself on top of him as he tried to catch his breath. His arms wrapped around your back, holding you tight to his chest.
"What about Tyler Jr? It could work for a boy or girl," he suggested as he stared up at the ceiling.
"Absolutely not," you replied, pulling back to press another kiss to his lips. "Why don't we go back to the drawing board?"
You stayed like that for a while, suggesting baby names until you decided it was time to back out onto the patio before your family realized you were missing. You both got dressed and headed back outside, thinking about how that time next year, you probably would have had a new addition to the family.

! Warning: child birth, blood, pain !!
You were out at the barn, filling the chickens feed and water when Tyler stormed into the barn. You’re pretty sure you saw smoke coming out of his ears, his face red.
“What the hell are you doing?” He asks immediately taking the scoop from you, “you’re supposed to be resting! Doctor’s order!” His eyes are large as he stares at you.
You wave him off, “Tyler come on, I’ve been doing this the entire pregnancy. Nothing new to me.” You yank the scoop back from him, “I was going stir crazy laying in bed.”
You were 9 months pregnant, 39 weeks to be exact, ready to go into labor at any time. Your body was ready, but baby Owens had yet to say they were ready just yet. Your doctor had told you to take it easy after a fainting spell. Everything checked out, baby Owens was perfectly healthy and your doctor gave you the green light to head back home and get some rest.
Tyler had took this very seriously, making you stay in bed, and insisted on waiting on you hand and foot. He’d only left you alone for an hour to run into town to get groceries.
“What if something happened out here while I was gone? huh? What if you fainted and hit your head or something?”
You sigh, seeing his point, “I’m sorry.” You frown, “but Tyler, really I was going crazy. I needed to do something.”
“knit the baby a blanket. Something where you’re not on your feet.” He grabs your shoulders, leading you out the barn.
“Tyler-” you groan, “you know I don’t know how to knit!”
“Perfect time to learn then.”
As the two of you near the porch, you get a cramp in your stomach. It wasn’t too strong, but you noticed it. “ooh.” You clinch your eyes shut, placing a hand on your stomach, and bending over slightly.
“What? Oh god, is it time? See I told you-”
“Tyler, chill.” You take a deep breath, the pain easing. “I’m sure it’s just Braxton hicks. I’m fine. I’ve been having them every little while.”
“are they consistent?”
You shrug, “I honestly don’t know. I haven’t paid too much attention. That’s the first one that's been more intense.” You start up the stairs of the porch.
“You could be in labor.” Tyler says following you, “We probably need to head to the hospital.”
“I promise I am not. We’ll know for sure when it's time.” You sigh, taking a seat on the rocking chair.
“You’ll let me know if they get worse right? You know the nearest hospital is an hour away.” He warns. “You have to let me know in time. I am not delivering our baby on the side of the highway.”
“You told me they were Braxton hicks!” He argues. He’s currently speeding down the interstate, swerving in and out of traffic. People are honking left and right.
You let out a scream, hand gripping his shirt in one hand and the other on the grab handle.
Tyler screams with you, in full blown panic mode. You were still 45 minutes away from the nearest hospital. Your water had broke a little bit ago and soon after that the contractions began to get more and more intense, and closer in time. Your labor was progressing fast.
You’re doing your lamaze breathing, trying to stay calm, “I’ve never been in labor before, how was I supposed to know I was actually in labor?!”
You groan as another wave of a contraction hits, “Tyler something-” You reach down to feel, bringing your hand back up, fingers covered in blood. “S-Something is wrong.”
Tyler glances at your hand, his heart drops, face going pale. if something happens to you.. or the baby. He’d never forgive himself. He shouldn’t have left. He should have forced you to go to the hospital earlier. His foot goes heavy on the gas, engine revving loudly.
A new feeling shows itself, “I feel like I need to shit-” Your eyes are wide, staring at Tyler. “Tyler- oh fuck I’m about to have this baby on the side of the god damn interstate, aren’t I?”
“Don’t panic-” He knew enough from hearing stories to know what that meant. That was the key indicator baby was coming and it was coming NOW. “but yes.”
“oh my god!”
He’s immediately pulling the truck to the side, horns blaring as he cuts someone off. He comes to a skidding stop, jumping out of the truck. He’s throwing the door open on your side in a split second. Now it’s him who is calm. He’s rolling up his sleeves, pulling out his phone to call 911. He’s delivered a calf before. Same thing right?
“I am NOT having this baby in your truck!” Your panicked eyes find his calm ones, shaking your head. “I can wait until the hospital.”
“You have no choice.” He helps you slide out of your pants in the seat, simultaneously telling the 911 dispatcher what’s going on, your location and gathering supplies he needs. Where did this calm, collected Tyler come from? He was panicking only 30 seconds ago.
You scream, a searing pain felt down below.
Tyler peeks and sees a head full of hair, his eyes widen, “you definitely can’t wait. baby is coming now. push baby-”
It only took one push before Tyler caught the baby, laying her on your chest and drying her off with a towel. “it’s a girl!”
Emotions are running high. Tears are being shed. You’d just given birth, Tyler delivering your daughter. Your heart drops; she’s quiet on your chest, “Why isn’t she crying?”
“Come on baby girl-” He finally stimulates her enough and she lets out a loud cry. It triggers more tears from both you and Tyler. A sigh of relief.
Tyler’s kissing you through the tears, “You did so great baby.” A proud smile on his lips as he stares at his two girls. He cups your face in his hands, “That was fucking amazing.”
~
The EMS showed up not long after, checking over you and the baby. Both healthy. They get you on the stretcher, your baby girl wrapped in a blanket in your arms. As the emotions of your baby being earth side, the reality hits you. You gasp, “Tyler.” You cover your mouth in shock.
“Hmm?” He hums, looking up from your daughter.
“I just gave birth to our daughter in your truck on the side of the interstate.”
He chuckles, “Yeah you did. That was more bad ass than getting caught in the middle of a tornado.”
Don’t know how I feel about this one. I had a whole vision but writing it out proved to be difficult.

phases- Tyler Owens x F!Reader
Word count:3,721
Warnings: language, angst, fluff
Summary: Reader thinks over moments in her relationship with Tyler. All the good, and of course the bad.
A/N: I don't usually put an author's note, but I thought I should this time. This isn't my best writing honestly. I wrote this on my phone on a long drive. It all just kind of spilled out of my brain, and I liked it, but it's kind of all over the place. So, if you're willing to ignore some flaws, and bear with me I thank you!

(gif not mine)
You never knew what it meant to love and be loved; by the one person you had waited for your whole life.
The moment you met Tyler your life changed, your perspective was altered, so much so that you couldn't remember what it was before him.
Every shade of sky, every mood, you had experienced with him—frustration, fury, embarrassment, love, admiration, and best of all acceptance.
Through him, came your found family. The group of people you had the pride and honor of knowing and loving. Just being with them gave you a sense of freedom, respect for the unknown, and an acceptance of what's to come. No matter the difficulty you'd have them to pull you through.
Before you met Tyler, you feared the storms, it didn't matter how many you weathered. The chance they could take everything from you in seconds was terrifying to you.
He held you through the night. being your shelter for as many storms that made you tremble, and grip him tighter than you ever had.
---
Your fear of storms originated when you were a little girl. You could remember the sirens going off and having to hide in your basement. You weren't able to get outside in time to get to the shelter. So your father rushed you into the basement. it was completely dark as your father guided you to the pipes he knew were in the corner of the pitch-black room.
He instructed you to wrap your arms around them, and no matter what happened not to let go.
You weren’t sure how long you were down there. But every slam against the house rang in your ears. Each creak of the foundation caused a jolt of fear to course through you.
You could hear the raging wind decimating everything in its path. You knew that so much that you loved would be swept away. The town you grew up in would be devastated, it would never be the same.
When everything went completely still, no wind could be heard, and all things seemed to have stood still, your father gently pried your hands from the piping.
Your hands shook from how hard your grip was. Even now, they still shake during storms.
You hadn’t told Tyler about what happened when you were a little girl. Thinking that if a storm came you would cover up your fear. He had told you that he was a storm chaser but you hadn’t gone on any chases with him. So he was never around for storms.
But it seemed that wouldn’t be the case for this one. You saw the dark clouds looming in the distance and the air smelt of rain. You just knew there was no avoiding this. You’d just have to do your best to hide your fear.
Tyler walked into the kitchen and saw you looking out the window. He padded across the floor to wrap his arms around your waist.
You felt his arms twist around you and jumped. You heard Tyler chuckle and felt him press a kiss on your cheek.
“I didn’t mean to scare you,” you heard the smile in his voice. You forced a soft giggle and placed your hand over his.
He could tell that something wasn’t right, there was no quip or witty response to him. You were tense, and he felt your hands shaking.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Tyler's breath warmed your cheek as he spoke to you.
Your heart began to race, “Nothing. I’m-uh-I’m just fine. Are you excited for the storm?” you turn in his arms to face him.
You reached your hands up to play with his hair and you felt the slightest bit of relief as he looked at you so softly. Yet you couldn’t stop the tremble in your hands. His hand moved a strand of hair from your face as he studied your behavior.
“You can tell me anything, you know that right?” his hand rested against your face and you leaned into his touch. You nodded at him, “I know Ty,” you assured him with a kiss on his palm.
The first clap of thunder sounded and you yelped, your hands covered your face and you slightly shook. The sky sounded off again and instead of sliding to the floor, Tyler pulled you close.
“C’mon (y/n), let's get to bed now huh?” his voice was calm.
“You’re not mad at me?” Tyler could hear the nerves in the way you spoke.
He took your chin between his pointer finger and thumb gently having you look at him. “I’m not mad at you, I could never be mad at you,” he nudged your nose with his. You smiled weakly, and he guided you up the stairs and to your bedroom.
His shirt lay discarded on the floor along with your sweats. He knew you hated wearing too much to bed. You had always said it made you feel too closed in. So there you were lying next to him in one of his shirts and your favorite polka-dot underwear.
He allowed you to wrap yourself around him and promised that he would show you there was nothing to be scared of when he was there.
The thunder rolled and lightning struck. Rain pelted the roof and windows. The wind blew and whistled through the old oak outside your window.
Each boom caused you to shake. Every gust of wind and blinding flash, had your heart pounding against your ribs.
But there he was, secure, steady, and warm. Whispering assurances in the dark. Holding you close, unwavering.
Your face buried in the crook of his neck, and his hand warm and rough against your back.
His lips soft against your hairline, "I've got you, sweetheart. Nothing's gonna hurt you." He breathed out.
A particularly strong gust of wind rattled the window. You let out a cry and wrapped yourself around Tyler.
He felt warm tears drip on his skin. He lightly tugged you away so he could see your face.
"Please don't, please don't let go," your voice broke. His heart ached at your plea.
"I'm not going anywhere. Look at me," he said. Softly brushing a piece of hair from your face.
You didn't budge. "(Y/n), baby, look at me. You've got nothing to be afraid of," he said and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
He gently did his best to coax you out of your hiding spot.
"C'mon sweet girl, I've got you," he reminded you. Slowly but surely you shifted so you could look at him.
He saw the tear stains on your cheeks and the fear in your (e/c) eyes. His gaze softened, and he leaned forward to kiss your red nose.
"I'm sorry Ty," he heard your uneven breathing.
He placed his hand on your cheek and rested his forehead against yours. His lips were just a whisper away. He placed a messy kiss on your mouth. Your breath hitched at the soft gesture.
"You have no reason to be sorry," he mumbled before he pulled you back in for a real kiss.
Albeit short, it was enough.
---
Now after 2 years of being with him, your fears lessened. Still, there were times you got scared, but with his hand in yours you never felt safer. Even when you weren't in the truck with Tyler. Dexter and Dani would have an arm around your shoulder. They knew watching the live streams made you nervous.
You’d always cheer and celebrate but once the sky cleared you let out the breath you were holding.
---
You stood next to Dani who had their arm secure around your shoulders.
You saw Tyler, Boone, and Lily getting closer to the oncoming storm. The sight was still as unbelievable as it was when you first saw it.
Looming dangerously close to the people you loved. Even so, the smiles on their faces, and how they shouted in excitement spoke volumes. Eyes wide with a sense of wonderment.
The all too familiar fearlessness etched on your boyfriend's face. It brought a smile to your face.
As they anchored the truck into the ground, your heart raced. You shouted along with Dani and Dexter. You heard the fans around you cheer too as they shot fireworks up into the funnel.
You watched as the sun came back into view, and they jumped out of the truck. You let out a sigh of relief.
"Woo! Did you see that?!" Boone shouted and you laughed. Dani laughed out loud and picked you up in excitement. You held on tight to them and laughed as well.
"She was gorgeous!" Tyler shouted. "Just like you babe!" He pointed at the camera and you knew he was talking to you.
You blushed and smiled.
As soon as the group reunited, you leaped from the RV.
"Tyler!" You shouted as he stepped out of the truck.
He quickly turned toward you with a huge smile. "Hey, baby!" He held his arms open and let you run into them.
What he didn't expect was you to jump into his arms. He caught you and laughed, your face was buried in his shoulder and he placed a kiss on your neck.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, he held you up underneath your thighs. You looked at him with a big smile, that mirrored his.
He set you on the tailgate, before bending down and pressing his lips to yours. One hand traveled to your hip, the other hitched your thigh higher over his hip. Your slender fingers ran through his hair, gently tugging at the strands. Your thumb affectionately stroked his cheek.
A low whistle sounded behind you and you smiled against Tyler's lips.
"We know it was a good chase but damn, didn't think you would be that excited." Dani teased.
You giggled and hid your face in his chest. He looked down at you in adoration. He let you go and helped you hop down from the bed of his truck.
The group looked at the two of you knowingly. Boone winked at Tyler who rolled his eyes.
"Use protection!" Lily shouted as you pulled Tyler up the staircase, and to your room for the night.
---
Sometimes things got rough. For a brief moment in time, you felt forgotten. Forgotten by the one person you never thought would forget you.
You thought it was over.
---
Tyler woke you up one morning. He was already dressed and ready to head out the door.
"Where are you going T?" You asked in confusion. Trying to rub the sleep from your eyes.
Tyler looked over at you with a sad smile.
"What's wrong?" Your voice had grown concerned.
"I'm going to check on Kate. She left in a hurry, and I'm worried about her." He said and fiddled with the arcade ring on his finger.
Your brows furrowed together, "what?" Your voice was softer than usual.
He shut his eyes and ran a hand over his face.
"She went through hell last night. Dexter remembered her name from the paper a few years ago. I'm going to see if she's ok," he sighed.
"Alone?" Wondered aloud. He shifted his weight. "Were you even going to tell me? Or were you just gonna leave?" Your voice shook.
"I was gonna leave a note..." he trailed off and cringed at how shitty that sounded.
"Fine, go." You said and pointed at the door.
You did your best to hold back your tears, of both frustration and hurt.
He tried to take a step toward the bed but you pushed yourself further back.
"Baby, please understand, she needs someone right now,"
You huffed and shook your head. "Right, then leave. It's not like anyone here needs you," you mumbled.
He watched as you stepped past him and walked into the bathroom. The door wasn't slammed shut but closed softly in a way only you did when you were hurt.
Tyler stepped up to the door and placed his hand against it. "I love you (Y/n)," he said.
With no response from you, he walked out the door.
Having heard the door shut you let a few tears fall. You didn't want the team to see how upset you were so you pulled it together.
You slipped into your jeans and a tank top before heading out the door.
The door shut behind you, and before walking down the stairs to greet everyone you plastered on a smile.
"You guys ready to chase some storms?!" You called down the stairs. The group turned to face you and they all whooped as you jumped the last few steps.
You ran over to them and asked if there were any possible storms.
As soon as you asked Dexter shouted. "I've got one! This cell to the east is looking strong, we gotta go!"
You all piled in the RV as best as you could. It was nowhere near comfortable but it would have to do.
Staring at the sky turning gray, and the horizon being blurred by the tornado picking up speed. The thought of Tyler running off to comfort a girl he barely knew, was eating away at you.
Despite not being able to drive straight into it Liliy's drone picked up all you needed to see.
You wanted to jump out of the RV, let the wind whip your hair and the rain lash your face. You wanted to scream until you couldn't anymore, but if you did your friends would surely know that there's something wrong.
You stayed silent as the tornado dissipated.
It had been 2 days since you had seen or heard from Tyler. You had put on the performance of a lifetime. Each time Boone or Lily asked about Tyler, you just told them that everything was fine. You acted as if it was no big deal, and continued to smile.
"Tyler! Man, where have you been?" Boone cried down the phone. Your head turned to see him on the phone.
"Wait, wait. Kate did what?" Boone questioned in confusion. He went silent as Tyler spoke to him.
"Where do you want to meet?" Boone listened to his friend's instructions.
He called everyone over and explained what was going on before rallying you all into the RV.
Everyone chatted about Kate's plan, and you chose to stay silent. You didn't have much to say. All you thought about was Tyler, staying with her for 2 days. Her riding shotgun while they chased a tornado.
They hugged and celebrated the rush of adrenaline after the storm passed.
Before you knew it you arrived at the place he told you to meet him.
Everyone exited the vehicle and went to greet Tyler. You stepped out of the RV and made your way over to the group.
Tyler saw you hanging back and smiled softly trying to break the tension.
"Hey Sweetheart," he said and opened his arms hoping you'd run to hug him. He knew he had messed up the second he reached Kate's house.
He didn't know why it took him so long to realize the actual damage he had done to you. But he couldn't have turned back then. It was too late, you were already hurt.
You sent him a curt nod before Kate came walking toward you.
"Finally ditched the losers huh Kate?" Boone grinned at her and she smiled.
The rest of the team greeted her with smiles and open arms. She looked over at you and tried to send a smile your way.
You weren't a terrible person so you, just like you did with Tyler, gave her a curt nod.
You listened as she and Tyler explained their plan to you all. You understood, and couldn't lie that you were impressed. But it didn't hurt any less when he smiled at her excitement.
Seeing her work so easily with everyone made you insecure. It took you a while to settle in when you met everyone but with her, it seemed like they had known each other for years.
You leaned against the back of the RV as you tried to get a moment for yourself.
You didn't hear his footsteps until they were right next to you.
You looked away from him and did your best to not let your emotions get the best of you.
His shoulder bumped yours as he leaned back. His hand brushed yours and your heart jolted.
"(Y/n), will you look at me?" His voice was soft.
"Why?" You shrugged still avoiding his gaze.
"Because I want to talk to you. I need to hear your voice," it came out almost as a plea.
“If you wanted to hear my voice, you should’ve called. You should have stayed,” you refused to look at him.
“I know, I messed up. I was an asshole and I-I” he didn’t know what to say.
The sound of his voice made your stomach turn. "Please," he tried one last time.
You reluctantly turned to look at him. The man you loved.
He could see the dark circles under your eyes and you looked like you hadn't truly rested in days. His heart lurched at the thought of this being his doing.
"Baby..." his eyes filled with concern as he reached up to place a hand on your cheek. You stopped his hand before it reached your face.
"Now you care?" Your voice was harsh. He could see the hurt and frustration in your tired eyes.
"What do you mean, "now"?" He narrowed his eyes at you.
You rolled your eyes and laughed bitterly.
"You were going to leave me in our motel room, with a note telling me that you went to be with a girl you hardly knew because she needed you. You didn’t call, you didn’t text. You went radio silent for 2 days." You barked.
You threw your hands up, and he began to speak up.
"I didn't mean to hurt you. I admit what I did was stupid, but look where we are now. We can help, we can make a difference!" He raised his voice.
"I guess you found your match huh? Someone as smart as you. Not some girl who doesn't always understand what you're talking about. You found someone to make a difference with. You don't need a stand-in for the right person anymore." You didn't mean for your voice to waver at the end, but you couldn't help it.
His eyes widened, and you could see what you said hurt him.
"That's really what you think? You think you're a stand-in, you're just temporary?" His heart broke.
Tears threatened to fall, as you looked at him.
"That's exactly what I think. You've acted differently ever since you met Kate, and now I realize that you found the one you really want." You stated.
He threw his hands up and ran them through his hair in frustration.
"You're crazy, you're actually crazy." He looked at you in shock. Shocked that you believed he thought of you as a placeholder while he waited for “someone better”.
His words broke the dam of tears you'd held in since the moment he left.
He saw tears pour down your cheeks and grabbed you to pull you close. His arms were wound around you tightly and no matter how much you tried to push him away. No matter how much you struggled he held you.
"Let me go, Tyler!" You cried but he didn't let go. "I'm not letting you go." He stated.
"I love you." He said and looked down at you. Your face was wet with tears, and he could see how much he hurt you. But with his words you let yourself fall against his chest. Your tears soaked his shirt, and you clung to him. You didn’t know how much you needed to hear that until now. After feeling second best since Kate showed up, all you needed to hear was that he loved you. Just you.
He pressed his lips to your head. "God, I love you so much, Sweetheart. I'm so sorry. I love you," he whispered in your ear. He felt your frame shake in his hold, and he didn't know if it was possible to hold you any closer.
You pulled back and looked up at him to see tears in his eyes.
"You're so fucking stupid Tyler Owens. I should hate you, but I just can't," you said and pulled him down to kiss you. His hands immediately found your waist.
He kissed you as if his life depended on it. Like you were the only thing he needed to live.
Your hands touched him anywhere they could. Wanting to memorize every part of him.
He gripped your hips, ran his hands under your shirt, and traced every inch of your skin. Grabbing at the flesh of your waist. Doing anything he could to commit your body to his memory. His lips wandered to your cheek and left a trail along the column of your throat. He savored every sound, every sigh, every whisper of his name.
The slam of a car door snapped you back to reality. He pulled away from you, with a soft smirk on his lips. You knew you must have been a sight.
"Help me?" You asked him. He knew what you meant, and immediately ran his hands through your hair, as you wiped your cheeks.
He fixed the collar of your shirt and smiled before leaning down once more to kiss your plush lips.
"You still have a lot of making up to do," you pointed at him.
"I'll do anything for you," sincerity dripped from his words.
"Alright, love birds. We get you made up but we have to go!" Boone yelled.
You chuckled as you ran towards the truck. Tyler helped you in, kissed your hand, and rounded the truck to get in the driver's seat.
---
Things after that day had changed drastically. Tyler had done everything he could to gain your trust back.
He took a week off from chasing to stay home with you.
The time was spent tangled in sheets. It was spent in sundresses having a picnic in the field by your house. It was spent falling in love all over again.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested: Can you write something cute for Tyler X reader maybe they have a date at home but then he has to leave when a tornado alarm goes off leaving Y/n alone but he makes up for it when he gets back! @cevansbaby-dove
Summary: When you and Tyler finally have a date night for just the two of you but the date get cut short when Tyler has an emergency dealing with a tornado in the area. The night doesn’t go as you planned.
Pairing: Tyler Owens x Female Reader
Warnings: cursed words, slight angst
Author Note: I am a bit rusty but I hope you like it!
You looked happy to be spending time with Tyler, seated across from him at the table. It's been three weeks since you and Tyler last saw each other.
“I missed you.” You took one last bite of your steak.
Tyler grinned, but his expression was dissatisfied. “I missed you too but…” you were waiting for him to finish his thought. “Do you think this relationship is working?”
That question kind of caught you off guard. This was not how you were hoping your night with him would be.
“Uh…” you trailed off. “Excuse me? What?”
For almost a month Tyler has been thinking about this question a lot. This question has been bothering him on and off even though his heart was happy with you. He likes being with you.
He clears his throat. “We have a nice dinner once a week, we don’t have sex often and neither of us call–”
You slammed your cup on the table and gave him a glare look. “Wait! Wait! Please don’t blame this bullshit on me!” You leaned back in your seat trying to keep yourself calm.
He opened his mouth to respond but the alarm for tornado warning went off. “I’m sorry but I have to go.” He quickly got up taking his coat behind the chair.
You scoff and shake your head. “It’s fucking obvious I am not important anymore, Ty” You got up taking the plates with cups going straight to the kitchen.
Tyler rushed out of your house not hearing the last word you said. You sighed going straight to your bedroom not worrying about doing the dishes at the moment.
An hour and a half later, you heard on the news that a tornado was in the clear. You could careless about big dust of fucking wind in the air.
You wipe your tears away when you hear the doorbell ring. You sniffle getting off the bed with the green covers still over your shoulders. You walked out your bedroom door headed straight to the front door.
“Go away!” You yelled.
Another knock can be heard at your door along with a voice. “Bunny, please.” You roll your eyes as you reach the door.
Tyler was about to ring the doorbell again when you slowly opened the door. “What?” The sound of the thunder almost startled you.
“May I come in? I’m sorry.” He says.
You didn’t know to believe his stupid apology or smack him.
Tears filled your eyes again. “Sorry!? How are you sorry when you wanted a break up? You care more about them dumb tornadoes than me.”
He took a step toward you. “Baby, I’m sorry.” You didn’t realize he closed the gap between you two as he lifted you up wrapping your legs around his waist. “I can make it up to you.”
You tried to tell him to put you down but he was not listening to you. “Tyler! Put me down!” The front door closed as he lay you down on the couch and got on top of you.
“Baby, let me in.” He says, placing kisses all over your face. He realizes he can’t see his life without you in it.

You watch as your boyfriend Tyler, walks over towards the young blonde woman who had suddenly turned up with Javi, another storm chaser from another group. You couldn’t help but glare over at the sight of your boyfriend smiling down at her, your fists clenching as you watched her smile up at him.
“You’re gonna break your knuckles if you keep clenching them that tight, love”, a voice from beside you speaks, looking to your left to see your best friend Lilly smiling at you sympathetically. “I just don’t understand why he was so drawn to her when we first pulled in, Lills, I really don’t get it,” your tone soft, a frown forming on your face as your shoulders slump down with a mix of confusion and insecurity.
“Do not be getting soft on me now girl, you are THE tornado wrangler's girlfriend, and from what he has told us all, his future wife! So why are you doubting that? Has he given you something to ever question his love for you?” Her voice was sharp, full of questions as she tried to pry the answers out of you, not because she was mad at you, but because she knew how much you truly love him and how much you want a life with him. Lilly had been the one to begrudgingly listen to all the plans you have for yourself and Tyler in the next 5 years.
Firstly; get engaged, then have a small ceremony in your shared hometown, buy a house then have kids.
You feel yourself smile slightly at her constant questions, turning your head back to look at the sight of your boyfriend patting this woman’s shoulder as he made his way over to you. “Can I share a room with you tonight, Lills?”, you ask her with puppy dog eyes. “Y/n, of course you ca-“, she didn’t have time to finish the rest of her sentence before you walked away from her and your boyfriend who was quickly closing in on you two with a bright smile on his face. Tyler catches up to the spot you just stood on, watching as your silhouette walks away to the back of the jeep.
“Is she okay? She hasn’t come to speak to me since we got here.” Tyler looks over towards Lilly, a slight frown on his face, before quickly watching as you grab your duffle bag out of the trunk of the car and set it on the floor. Lilly (again) didn’t have time to finish her sentence before your boyfriend was quickly over beside you, reaching down to grab your bag as he slings it over his shoulder.
You roll your eyes slightly as you roughly close the trunk of the red jeep before turning to him and grabbing the bag off his shoulder. Tyler is quick to stop you by grabbing onto the bag and pulling it back onto his shoulder once more, “Baby, what’s going on? You always let me carry your bags to the motel room? Have I done something?” His voice is slightly shaken and soft, trying to keep the volume as low as possible so that nobody can hear your conversation. You roughly grab the bag off his shoulder and hoist it onto your shoulder, “Why don’t you go see what that new girl wants, huh? Might need a strong man to bring her bag to her room.” Shoving past him, and walking toward Lilly who was waiting for you with her key, leaving your boyfriend behind you, confused as ever.

“You are taking the fucking piss right, Boone?” your blood boiling as you find out that your boyfriend had driven hours away to see this new girl Kate who had apparently left in a hurry after an argument with Javi. Standing up from the edge of your bed you run your hands through your hair. “Y/n, listen he wanted me to tell you-“ he began. “Tell me what? He ran off to see this fucking girl he’s know, what? 3 days? Oh yeah, thanks for the heads up, really appreciate it.” Your eyes glared into him, letting out a groan as he sat there silently looking around at your other friends in the room. You walk into the bathroom and slam the door behind you, due to it being an older motel you were staying at - the slam of the door nearly took it off the hinges.
Turning on the cold tap and splashing your face with the water as you try and calm yourself. Splashing your face a few times before looking up to see yourself in the mirror. Quite frankly, you didn’t look your best. You had been so tired the last few nights due to the early starts with tornados touching down at 5am. Your eyes had black bags under them, your lips were severely chapped, and your hair had at least 3 days of grease still in it. Taking a deep sigh, you reach to the bottom of your shirt, taking it off, and throwing it on the floor. Unclasping your bra, undoing the zip on your jeans pulling down your underwear, and throwing it all onto your shirt, leaving a pile on the corner of the bathroom. Turning around to the shower, reaching over the side of the tub, and turning it on. Grabbing all the essentials you need from your wash bag you had left in the bathroom next to Lillys’.
The water was a nice heat when you got inside the tub, pulling the heist curtain to cover yourself in case someone was to walk in and see you. Putting your head under the shower head and letting the water drench your hair, moving it around slightly to make sure every area was covered. You reach for your shampoo as your mind runs wild at what your boyfriend could be doing with her right now.
Could he be touching her like how he touches you? Could he have his head between her legs and please her how he pleases you? Have his cock in her and watch her face as she enjoys it? You don’t even realize how aggressively you are rubbing the shampoo into your hair, nearly scratching your scalp. Rinsing the shampoo out of your hair as you sigh, trying to fight away the images in your head of him and her, could he really do that to you after 3 years of dating?
Reaching over for your conditioner as you open the bottle, squeezing some out into your hand and rubbing it onto the end of your hair. Leaving it to set in your hair, you reach over to your loofah and squeeze your vanilla-scented body wash all over it, as you start to rub the loofah all over your body - the image of your boyfriend and you in the shower together engulfs your head.
His head lay in the crook of your shoulder, one of his hands holding your waist and the other playing with your nipple between his index and middle fingers, sometimes squeezing it slightly. Your head flew back as you let out a soft moan into his ear, your hand reaching and grabbing onto his forearm as you tried to balance yourself. His low chuckle surrounds the room, letting go of your nipple and trailing down towards the spot you wanted him the most, and just as he was about to reach there-
3 loud bangs are heard on the bathroom door pulling you out of your state of imagination, “Y/n/n, are you okay? I’m sorry for not telling you where he was going, I really am. You’ve been in there for like half an hour, please come out” Boone shouts through the door, his hand continuously banging in the door. “YEAH! I'm okay, I’ll be out now”, you shout back as you rinse the condition out of your hair and the body washes off your body, ignoring the pulsing feeling between your legs.
Pulling the shower curtain out of the road and reaching for your towel, wrapping it around your body you walk towards the door and open it, Boone is standing waiting for you with a sorry look on his face. “Please don’t be mad at me”, he looks into your eyes, which are full of regret and pain. You smile at him slightly, “I’m not mad at you dude, I’m just upset that’s all.” You reason with him, holding onto his shoulder, “he will just have to answer a fuck ton of questions when he gets back.”
*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚
You had been sitting in your room all day trying to map out the best mother storms for you and the team to follow when Tyler gets back when there is a soft knock on your door. Getting up and opening the door, “Dexter, really, I am not hungry, I don’t want any lunch.” you look up expecting to see your loveable older friend standing there however, standing there was your boyfriend with a bunch of tulips in his hand and a box of chocolates.
“I’m sorry for leaving, pretty girl,” his voice was full of love, “It was a really stupid thing to do and I should’ve consulted you on the matter before I ran off after her”. Moving to the side to let him into the room, you shut the door behind him.
“Yeah you really should have consulted me about it”, your voice sharp and full of anger, not daring to walk over towards him. He sighs, placing your flowers and chocolates on the messy bed you were just sitting in, walking towards you slowly. “I already know how you’re feeling my love, Lilly got a lot of shouting in when I first got back, I’m sorry I made you feel that way”, his hands placed on your waist as he looks down at you, “I didn’t bring her back if that’s what you are wondering, I told her I had to get back to see my lady.” You lean into him and wrap your arms around his neck and you lay your head on his shoulder, he pulls you closer and runs his finger up and down your spine.
“I love you,” his voice whispered, “I know you’re mad at me, and you have the right to be, but it’s always gonna be you baby, forever and always you”. You pull back away from him to look into his light green eyes, a cocky tone in your voice, “You know, saying sorry won’t make me forgive you that easily, along with flowers and chocolates.” His eyebrow raises at your words, quickly replaced with a smirk and he quickly lifts you up bridal style walking towards Lilly’s bed. “You don’t think she will mind if we use her bed, right?” He asks you in a playful tone before laying you down on the bed.
“I guess we will have to see, won't we?” You reply back as you pull him on top of him attaching your lips to his.
