Tyler didn’t slutshame or cheat on Caroline. I wish people actually paid attention but they only heard Klaus running his mouth. Then saw bright colored eyes when Tyler told her to leave him alone AND repeatedly said she slept with Klaus. That is not slut shaming, “Caroline felt bad…” Hm, because she knew Tyler wasn’t going to hear her out on that?

Revenge on Klaus was okay when Stefan wanted it but…of course Tyler wasn’t supposed to feel anything 🙄

I think it’s forgotten(or rarely acknowledged bc of reasons…)that Klaroline while is loudly a huge disservice to Tyler’s character. It was also formed on the writers racism and hatred for Bonnie/Kat and women of color in general. When Klaroline made their “debut”. That was the moment Klaus’ love for witches was rewritten.

It was heavily mentioned by others take Katherine for example and shown that Klaus liked witches. Maddox was loyal to him. Greta left her entire family/coven for him. It was made a plot point that her own family was fighting to get her back but Greta seemed very happy in her devotion to Klaus. Gloria from season 3 had her own history with Klaus. It’s just a very turning point when the writers chose not to align or push anything related to Klaus/Bonnie or the Mikaelson’s. The writers remembered the main witch on the show was a black woman and godforbid if somebody found Bonnie (attractive or useful that wasn’t the MFG’s circle.) We don’t see Klaus’ have another sexual on/off situation with another witch directly until it’s Genevieve—who's white.

Tyler was Klaus first successful hybrid and is never built past constant abuse for Tyler. Bonnie, wasn’t even considered and disregarded as was witches for Klaus type. I will say it is ironic in TO Hayley gets the full wolf-arc that we don’t see with Tyler. Everything is off screen after Tyler becomes a hybrid. When he is onscreen it’s constant slavery or some trauma. Anyways, I say all of this to say while Klaroline functions on lessening Tyler. Hayley‘s storyline did the same thing(werewolf wise.) Caroline remains in the center of those too.

Klaroline is centered entirely around Tyler

I feel like a lot the people who hate klaroline (as they should) really don't understand the foundation of the ship which is why it's labeled as something that doesn't make sense/random, and the reason for that is the Tyler of it all.

Like of course when delusional shippers or anyone really think Klaus was actually in love with Caroline or even liked her in the first place at least initially it's easy then to label it at something that doesn't narratively make sense because it's not explained why he took interest in her , but the thing is the writers knew that which is why we have only like two to three semi subtle cues explaining the basis of the ship but it's unfortunately buried under a tons of fan service especially within the huge fan base

So basically klaroline's first interaction that sparked that cursed ship is 3x11, it's right after Tyler is first seen standing up to Klaus and showing clear rebellion against Klaus enslaving him that he first orders him the bite his girlfriend before showing up at her house etc, all that he knows about her is that she's a random "pretty" teenager which is why he's for no reason on a mission to woo her with all sorts of gifts, since basically he doesn't know shit About her, he's never shown to be physically attracted to her despite seeing her around before and only gave two fucks about her when he wanted to put Tyler in his place, then you have him almost murder her again in season 4 to "teach Tyler a lesson the hard way" and these are his words, like my guy was willing to kill her if it meant humbling Tyler💀 he Brags about how he hurt Tyler to Elijah by "sleeping with his girl", he tells Caroline he couldn't stop thinking about her but the moment they finally fuck he dips lmao??

Even throughout the whole thing Klaus is like "Tyler isn't enough for you, you want to see the world instead bla bla" because he doesn't know her or even actually cared to know her beyond what he sought from her which is literally just to put Tyler in his place and he thrived on the chase, the fact that he failed to get the teenage girl to give in , he was willing to murder her to get back at Tyler, he attempted to sexually assault her and left happy after he finally slept with her

But of course the shippers see the hot villain gift horse paintings to this random ass teenager and they go "he's so in love with her😍"

This whole rant is basically because I'm tired of Klaus's feelings for Caroline being painted as "love" among both fans and antis , I get that he at best might have developed more of a soft spot for her but that was all it was tbh , they have no moments showing actual love/no moments of Klaus taking the time of day to consider her feelings nor does he go out of his way to do anything for her, Caroline was simply a prize to be won out of his grievances with her boyfriend, if Tyler was dating any other pretty girl Klaus would've went after her for the simple fact she's Tyler's gf and he felt the need to humble him

It really does not make Caroline look good as a character that she has a whole arc demanding people to respect her grief when she could not do the same literally a season prior.

TVD S5 EP11&12 (mostly a rant about Tyler and Caroline)

I'm not even gonna talk about the first 10 episodes, Silas was annoying AF I'm glad he's dead. Also, Katherine as a human was hilarious.

Tyler deserved better. I said it. I never really understood the Tyler hate. Like, yeah he was a douche in S1 but if we're judging him by his S1 personality shouldn't we all hate Caroline by that logic? Cause she was kind of a bitch in S1.

Caroline sleeping with Klaus...yeah no I don't even know what to say. I knew it was coming, just didn't know when. It was dumb and just didn't really make any sense to me. I was never really on board with them, to begin with.

Why did Klaus come back to MF in the first place? To see Katherine dying? Anyways... It always felt to me like Klaus was being really pushy and trying to flirt with Care when she was obviously not into it (she seemed pretty content and happy with Tyler)

Like sir, you have a whole ass baby on the way (idk what happened with that storyline cause the Mikaelsons went to New Orleans and I'm not watching TO rn) and you're here in MF trying to hook up with a girl who repeatedly told you she wasn't interested. Dare i say, you look kind of pathetic.

Tyler my boy, you deserve better, you really do. And then, when he hears Care talking to a Katherine-possessed Elena about Klaus he is obviously heartbroken.

Also, this might just be me, but did everyone forget that Klaus was gonna kill Care in the sacrifice ritual thing back in S2? Maybe I'm just really bad at letting things go but I would never get over that? Like I would never want to be friends let alone anything more with a person who brought so much suffering to me and my friends.

I know you like bonenzo, but what are your thoughts on Carenzo?

I loved their banter throughout season 5, and in season 6 I fell in love with them and was really disappointed when they didn’t ever get together. Enzo is actually my favorite Caroline ship, as Matt was just bad for obvious reasons, Klaus hurt her multiple times (you could honestly call it abuse) and she used him all the time, and I just found her and Stefan extremely boring. I actually liked her and Tyler together, but too much damage was done for them to ever end up together imo.

Also do you think you’ll continue with TGW outtakes? If so, would you consider writing some extra scenes with Elijah, Hayley, and Astra while they were in France?

If the writers hadn't been so determined to sideline Bonnie and prioritize Damon, Steroline and Bonenzo could have been such a fun group. Enzo and Stefan would have annoyed each other but they would have put up for it for Caroline and Bonnie. I wish they would have continued Stefan and Bonnie's friendship from the early seasons rather than giving it to Damon. It always seemed more realistic for me. Also, Enzo's loyalty to Damon and hatred of Stefan never made sense to me. Honestly, Enzo and Stefan could have bonded over being betrayed by Damon. Enzo just decides to forgive Damon for abandoning him and killing his love and blaming Stefan for everything??

I personally never wanted Caroline and Enzo to be romantic. They bonded during a time where Caroline really needed a friend and Enzo stepped up. It is one of the reasons I love Enzo's character. Enzo was the character they wanted Damon to be. He did a lot of bad (even terrible) things but was striving to be a better person and actually made himself a better person. I would have been fine with them writing Damon off and brining in Enzo for better storylines than they gave him. I also just love Michael Malarkey.

I am a huge advocate for platonic relationships. It's fine to ship people, but not everyone who gets along needs to be romantically invovled. Although I do definitely see why people ship them. But I liked that Caroline and Enzo grew to care for each other but never needed to make it romantic. And honestly, Caroline needed just friends. I feel like the writers were matching her up with anyone she came in contact with. Stefan was gone for five seconds and they had Enzo flirting with her. I wanted the show to focus on friendships/family more than the ships at times.

My favorite ships for Caroline are Steroline and then Forwood. I love friends to lovers. Nearly all of my favorite ships are. Both Steroline and Forwood had that great foundation before they started dating. They were each other's best friends. To me Steroline was always endgame. The way they fought for each other and looked out for one another was great. Forwood is a close runner up and would have been endgame had Klaus not gotten in the way for no reason. Tyler didn't deserve anything Klaus put him through. I think they could have found their way back to each other but they had both already moved on by the time the dust settled.

I did actually like Matt and Caroline at times but they were both just in emotionally fragile spots when they dated. But they were a cute high school relationship. I don't consider Klaus and Caroline a relationship -- it was just straight abuse.

I know I went on a lot of side tangents, but thanks for the ask! I don't talk about TVD nearly enough.

I am continuing TGW Outtakes! I'm also already writing scenes of them spending the weekend in Paris. There will be lots of wine, art, and kissing. I am just writing very slowly now that we are near the end of the story. There are so many lose ends to tie up.

I'm kinda tired for Caroline being labelled as the best girlfriend in the world and no one being worthy of her except one (Klaus)…

i'm tired of argument "Tyler chose revenge over her, Klaus did not". Sorry, but I'm sick of it. Tyler chose revenge because she gave him an ultimatum. Klaus VICTIMIZED TYLER, HE HAD NO RIGHT FOR ANY REVENGE JUST BECAUSE TYLER FREED HIMSELF AND TURNED AGAINST HIM.

Tyler was still severely traumatized. Caroline after her mom's death switched her humanity off and bullied her friends. Even tho it's a bit unfair to compare the pain, I still it's easier to deal with that your parent died of natural causes. Tyler? His mother died terrified! It was not a natural cause, it was a m-rder. Straight up mu-rder to torment Tyler. God, Klaus even mocked and laugh into Tyler's face for it. She expected him to party and move on like nobody m-rdered his mother, like nobody enslaved him, killed his friends and was hunting him for fighting oppression? Again, SHE TURNED OFF HER HUMANITY AFTER HER MOTHER'S DEATH, SHE DID NOT DO THE BEST DECISION TOO, BUT NOBODY SAID THEY ARE DONE WITH HER, she had still her door opened. Sorry, but Caroline did not give a sh!t about his mental health. But she's the one who felt mistreated, she was the one who was mad and slept with the one who tormented all of them, just because Tyler did not have the strenght to move on yet. "Not a villain of my story". Sorry, but the one who does this to people I love is maybe not a villain of my story, but I'm not gonna shag him. Do not even let me start how season five of The Originals sugarcoated all previous events. It's fine when you are ok with the past, but srsly, this is not the case. Klaus left dead bodies of people Caroline knew, he almost killed people closest to her, he tortured a man she loved, he tortured her best friends and traumatized them in worst way possible, he almost killed her two times, almost sacrificed her, said into her face he will kill her boyfriend, watched her dying in pain.

Tyler was not a perfect boyfriend. But Caroline definitely was not a perfect girlfriend. Sorry, if she loved him that much, why she was so fast done with their relationship and hopped on a dick of someone who she did not even love? Just because she felt hurt, that Tyler's world doesn't just revolve around her? Because she wanted her scandalous sex? Everyone says how it's all about her feelings for Klaus, but it always strikes me as part of the post-breakup sulking.

I know many argue Caroline didn’t want him to leave because she knew he couldn’t win against Klaus but that isn’t the argument she pushed in her dialogue. It was about her needs not his.

I find it fucking hilarious when I hear some Stefan stans say Tyler slut shamed Caroline. And in the same breath…cheer and feel sympathy for their boy Stefan when he does to Elena what they claim Tyler did to Caroline. Even going as far as to still say that Stefan deserves better than Elena and call her a bitch for something that she did while sired to Damon. At that point he knew about the effects. Caroline even mentioned to Stefan in 4x08 that Elena’s singular burning desire would be to make Damon happy. So no, Stefan does not deserve better than Elena.

Oh, not in the book!Johnny sense. No, in the adaptation sense of "wow these writers clearly hate Johnny and either want to make him be Just There or He's Actually The Bad Guy Not Sweet, Innocent Dracula"- yeah Kl*us was Dracula. I know Julie clearly wanted him to be her Lestat (when he was actually Marius) but "let me brutally assault people who daaaaare stand against me" is very book!Drac.

Also Johnny and Mina's epic romance is constantly knocked down by a lazy, gross pairing between Mina and her beloved Johnny's abuser. Hmm, sounds familiar.

In conclusion - Tyler should've hit Kl*us with a shovel. And Caroline (Mina) should've smacked him over the head with a typewriter.
