HERE’S WHAT YOU MISSED THIS WEEK (6.10-6.16.20):
NEW MUSIC:
Alternative singer and rapper De’Wayne Jackson has signed with Hopeless Records. The musician also addressed the current state of America he has witnessed through his new single “National Anthem.”
Post Malone and Tyla Yaweh released a music video for their new collaboration titled “Tommy Lee.” During a recent interview, the Mötley Crüe drummer for which the song is named revealed behind-the-scenes tidbits about the song.
Evanescence posted a video of members Amy Lee and Troy McLawhorn covering the pop song “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama. The cover was recorded in isolation, as both musicians can be seen performing separately in their homes.
Last Friday, Grey Daze released a video for the song “B12,” which honors the late singer Chester Bennington. Additionally, the video features the talents of Korn guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian “Head” Welch.
Halsey took to Twitter on Sunday to share an original version of the Manic bonus track, “Wipe Your Tears,” only available on the album’s Japanese edition. She shared the song with fans in celebration of Pride Month without telling her label.
Last Saturday, Black Veil Brides released a cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s song “American Skin (41 Shots),” written following a New York police shooting in 1999. The band also urges fans to donate to anti-racist organizations as protests continue.
Members of Run-DMC, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies and Volbeat teamed up on a charity medley to give back to Music Unites. The medley, titled “CB’S RUNDMC JAM,” is available for purchase on Bandcamp.
TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer revealed the rescheduled international dates for their Hella Mega Tour, now set for 2021. The new shows, held at the same venues, begin on June 9 in Vienna, Austria and end on June 30 in Dublin, Ireland.
Goldenvoice and AEG announced the 2021 dates for Coachella, following the festival’s cancellation this year. The first weekend will take place on April 9-11, 2021 and the second on April 16-18, 2021.
Due to coronavirus, Jimmy Eat World have unfortunately cancelled their 2020 tour with the Front Bottoms, Turnover and Joyce Manor. They announced the news to fans yesterday on social media.
OTHER NEWS:
Following a previous statement, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reopened to the public yesterday. However, a number of regulations have been set in place for future visitors in light of coronavirus.
Asking Alexandria drummer James Cassells and his wife Brandi announced that they are expecting their first child. Mrs. Cassells took to Instagram to reveal their baby is due this December.
Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba revealed he was involved in a motorcycle crash this past Saturday. The singer took to social media to explain he has sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently recovering in the hospital.
Twenty One Pilots sent fans out on an online scavenger hunt to find a series of codes to unlock content related to potential new music. Last month, frontman Tyler Joseph was unsure of how the new songs would compare to previous albums.
Halsey launched the Black Creators Funding Initiative, a fund made to promote black creators’ art and visions. The initiative gives resources to artists and funds numerous projects within the arts

joe elliot and steven tyler for the band member asks !
Joe Elliot: Favorite band and why?
That's so hard! I'm going to say Linkin Park. I've listened to them and loved them my whole life plus they're a shared favorite between my dad, brother, and I. Their music means a lot to me and I love all of the members. Also I was supposed to see them live but the show wasn't able to happen. Plus I've idolized Chester Bennington since I was little so he and the band just have a special place in my heart forever.
Steven Tyler: Favorite album of all time and why?
I don't think I have a favorite of all time because I change my mind so often but I love Save Rock and Roll by Fall Out Boy so much. Since it came out I've listened to at least one song from it pretty much daily. Plus the music videos are awesome! They made a whole story for each video and it really adds a lot to the album. Also Tommy Lee is in one of the videos lol.
Thanks so much for asking!!
