Yes as I suspected, they have similar hand sizes. But look, Charles has broader thicker hands with more tendon and muscle definition whereas Oscar has the hands of an 18th century woman who's never done a day of manual labor.

Something I think that goes really underrated with Chasing Life is how well you create and capture the life of a professional athlete. Sports has always been a huge part of my own life, and I'm extremely close to some high level people, and I'm deeply invested in sports both here the US and globally, as soccer is my first true love. I absolutely deeply love when fics take a chance on this side of things, muggle and magical, and in that realm, Chasing Life stands out.

Chasing Life stands out to me because it really encapsulates what that life is like. There are the perks, obviously, of women at bars, etc. You show how James is a mild celebrity- not mild in an unknown way but mild in the way that you can go out to dinner without the whole world melting down, even as an "a lister" in that world. (This appears to be a bit of a choice on James' part too. He can lean into it when he wants. He's not damned to be devoid of humanity.) The timeline of the story really shows how athletes go off the grid for a bit sometimes at the height of the season. James rightly thinks nothing of this. When you talk about how James is happy the season ends so he can spend time with his friends, except they still have 9-5s and that's not a problem, per se, it's just a wrench James doesn't fully understand but happily makes work- that was very *chefs kiss.* There are other great details to point out as well, from the charity event, to james coming across like a lot of these people are just coworkers versus movie-worthy relationships of various types. In summation, you capture something that feels extremely real Chasing Life, even with Quidditch being Quidditch and accommodating a magical universe. (As well as a great plot, honestly!)

Thank you for sharing this story with us, once again! It's always been a favorite of mine, this rerelease has me falling in love all over again with it. Jily is a comfy place for me, and your fics have been ones to snuggle up with.

just thinking about how much trouble reader will cause in the future because of that lie... i'm not even thinking about the court of owls plot getting harder to solve (since bruce basically doesn't trust his mind anymore), i'm thinking about how bruce will definitely feel so betrayed. he doesn't take lightly being lied to (based on the hospital scene with alfred). i just know my heart will suffer. can only hope that, by then, his feeling for her will have grown strong enough to overflown the hurt </3
