17, 25, 39, 52, 55 for tysinno and/or lyn!
this is late like all my asks are, since I practically live at my job djfgksgkjsg ty Sasha!! <3 I'll answer for both bc I love them :')
17. What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?
Lyn: the smile of a winner!! đ actually, I think what they usually notice (or look at, anyways) is the purple hair in their streaks, to see if it's still good or if it's fading and they need to touch it up. as for what other people notice first, I figure it's probably the heterochromatic green & grey eyes.
Tysinno: probably his eyes, and specifically if he still has any eyeshadow from the night before still on, since he'll fall asleep with it frequently enough lol. with other people, I imagine they'll probably notice the glowing eyes or the white streak of hair before anything else.
25. What subject / topic do they know a lot about thatâs completely useless to the direct plot?
Lyn: Shakespeare! one of their dads is an indie film director who's done more than a few movies based on said plays, so Lyn is more than well-versed in the subject. their name even comes from one of his plays: Lyn is short for Lychorida, a character from Pericles.
Tysinno: he knows how to help safely deliver a baby! which I doubt will come up in SHOH proper, but I imagine it's something he did in his backstory during his years on the road. he's also got an interest in astronomy, and could name a lot of stars and their corresponding myths (if any).
39. Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there?
Lyn: invited and included, even if they weren't wanted. Lyn isn't lacking in self-love and self-confidence, and would initially have a hard time believing they weren't wanted... before resolving to change minds with their charm lol.
Tysinno: excluded if he wasn't wanted. Tysinno isn't big on most social events as it is, unless it's either a small group of close friends or some really big thing where he could drink in the corner by himself lol. he'd rather stay home and read a book.
52. Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting?
it's definitely a mix of both for the both of them, depending on the situation they're in? with that said:
Lyn: maaaybe acts on their immediate emotions a bit more? they're proud and stubborn, and if they think they're right about something or if X should happen right now, they'll probably act on that feeling. they're pretty big on following their gut instincts about stuff.
Tysinno: waits for the facts a bit more. he doesn't like the idea that something bad could happen as a result of rushing in before thinking things through, and wants to take the time to make sure he's making the right choice.
55. Whatâs something theyâre expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?
Lyn: they're not an investigative journalist yet. that said, the whole building connections and making contacts part of it all. while they don't completely hate it by any means, they do dislike how much time it can take to find the right people to be able to talk to.
Tysinno: (note that this one is stolen from my sister, as I have the artistic skills of a peanut and she is very good at it) shading his artwork. adding more details and making things more lively should be fun, right? wrong! or at least, he finds it a bit stressful to try and add those extra details to make things look the way he pictures it.
#ask tag#jenchwuq#several days late. who does it like me.#ty so much for sending this <3 I love them both dearly#Lyn hasn't gotten much attention lately :(#OC: Lyn Ventura#OC: Tysinno Maratis

FROM THE EYES OF SOMEONE WHO HAS TO HELP SOMEONE OUT
âI thought I would find you here.â
It was a warm night. It was the type of night where one could sit outside for hours on end listening to the crickets chirp. The sky above was the perfect accompaniment this particular night, being so clear and free from clouds and any sort of light pollution that you could nearly see the entirety of the universe above. It was the perfect night for one to relax and enjoy life.Â
But that was not what was happening.
You stood on the very beginning of the crest of the hill, a little away from Liu Kang. Your eyes scanned the hunched over form of your friend. It was an odd look on him, a form so undisciplined from one of the most diligent men you knew. As odd as it was, it only made sense. After all, how could you expect a picture perfect form from a man who has lost his best friend?
The grass rustled as you walked forward, moving to stand right next to where Liu Kang sat. You kept your gaze forward, not turning your head to look at him. You didnât need to. Without even looking at his face, you could tell all the emotions that he must be experiencing. Frustration, grief, loneliness. It was the same emotions that had been clinging to your friend like tar for a while now.
So, instead, you stared adamantly at the tree. A rush of emotions surged through you as your gaze settled on it. So many memories were connected to this tree. Long days of just relaxing under this tree with Kung Lao came to mind. The three of you would sit under here, chatting and enjoying each otherâs companies as the cicadas would sing in the background.Â
Or sometimes, you would find Kung Lao here, having sneakily gotten out of lessons to simply sit and snack on a few treats he had stolen from the kitchen. You never sold him out. Even when your father gave you a pointed look, you would feign innocence and claim that you had no idea where the razor hatted man went.Â
It only made sense to bury him here, underneath the tree he loved so, so much. It was even his favorite type of tree, the cherry blossom.Â
A certain silence hung in the air. It was the silence that could only be made by those who have lost someone important to them. It was the combined silence of someone who had let grief consume him and of someone who refused to grieve yet. The two reactions to the death of your friend could not be any more different between the two of you, but the unspoken words between you two could not be any more the same.
You both missed him, dearly.
âHe died in vain.â Liu Kang spoke, breaking the vow of silence he had taken on. His voice was hoarse. You knew it must be from the lack of talking. But there was another part of you who knew the gravel-like quality to his voice must be from his grief and how it tore at him. You could not help but let out a sigh as you dropped your eyes to the humble gravestone in front of you.
âI know.â You replied, your voice laced with resignation. There was a tremble in your voice, your lip quivered for a moment before you set your jaw to prevent the little sign of weakness from persisting. You could not help the slump in your shoulders. It was a hard, harsh truth youâve come to accept. As much as youâd like to believe that Kung Laoâs death meant something, the invasions Outworld has been sending as of late has proven otherwise.Â
You turned your gaze to Liu Kang. It was not inaccurate to say he looked like a wreck. Reddened eyes which felt like they carried the weight of the world met yours. You could still see the freshly dried tear tracks on Liu Kangâs face. It seemed like, at least for now, the champion had finally run out of tears to shed for his long time friend.
âKung Lao would hate to see you like this.â You said, unable to keep the words from tumbling out of your mouth. You observed the way the man carried himself, and how he almost seemed like a different man entirely. The fury that he had held when he had slain Shao Kahn had burnt out, and only in his eyes could you see the remnants of the dying embers.
âI wish he were here to at least see it.â Liu Kang spat out, bitterness dripping from his voice. You did not flinch at it. You knew well enough the vitriol in his tone was not directed at you. Even if it was, the man was hurting. How could you blame him? His head raised to look at the cherry blossoms, idly watching as a few dropped and scattered around in the breeze.
âHey, look at me.â You said, tone gentle and soft. You watched as Liu Kang kept his gaze aloft, eyes searching the skies above for an answer to his prayers. You sighed as you raised a hand, putting it gently to his cheek. Even when his fire was put out, he felt warm. Your thumb rubbed softly upon his cheek, taking a moment to wipe away the tracks that the tears left. âI know youâre grieving, but youâre falling apart.â
Liu Kang leaned into your touch. You watched as his eyes attempted to brim with tears he no longer had. His hand rose to cover yours, clinging to it as if your hand was a lifeline. You felt your heart shatter at the sight, but still, you refused to let the man in front of you see your resolve break. You could care less if he saw you at your weakest, you trusted Liu Kang enough to let down your walls. But you knew now you did not have the luxury.
The world was falling apart. Invasions were arriving. You and others would need to forge a group to fight them off. Raiden would need a confidant who had a clear mind. Liu Kang needed an anchor to keep him from drifting off. All of these duties needed someone who could rise to the occasion, and you were willing to do so your allies would not have such a heavy burden.
It was the very least you could do to make up for failing Kung Lao. You could only hope that the others did not see how much your heart was aching too.
âIâm not asking you to stop grieving.â You said. You were slow to speak, choosing each word carefully so as to not upset your friend anymore than he was. âIâm not asking you to forget him either, but you need to start living again.â The way you delivered those words felt less like a moving speech to inspire him to move on, but more like a desperate plea.Â
âHow?â Liu Kangâs voice cracked and at the same time, your heart squeezed. His eyes searched you, as if the answer to his question would be written upon your skin. You felt his hand squeeze yours with desperation. You did not complain about the tight grip, keeping your gaze steady on his face. âHow am I supposed to live knowing he wonât be here anymore?â
In truth, you didnât know how. But you couldnât tell your friend that. You couldnât let him drift aimlessly anymore than he already was, you had to do something. So, instead, you gave him a soft smile as you rubbed his cheek softly once more. You prayed to the elder gods that he did not see the weakness in your eyes.
âWell first, you must take little baby steps.â You said, trying to think of the years worth of advice you had gotten from your father. âI think the first step you can begin to do is to start taking care of yourself again.â You gestured to his form. âStop skipping meals, stop spending hours out here on end, and start letting yourself accept the fact that he is gone.â You took a deep breath. âI know that sounds like a lot, but I canât watch you let yourself deteriorate anymore.âÂ
âBut Kung La-â
âWouldnât want you to stay by his grave like this.â You interrupted him, sending him a worried look. You closed your eyes and thought back to your friend. âIf anything, heâd be upset that youâre doing this. Heâd want you to live in his stead, to carry on his stories.â You paused, opening your eyes to watch Liu Kangâs face as you let him absorb your words.Â
There was a long period of silence that stretched between you. Afraid to break the fragile tension, you even held your breath. Conflict danced in his eyes, wavering between whether to trust you or the hurt that dragged him down. Silently, you pleaded for him to believe you. You already couldnât save one friend, you had to save another.Â
You couldnât fail again.
âAlright.â Liu Kang croaked. And finally, you let yourself breathe. His eyes fluttered closed as he seemed to lean his weight into your hand. In that moment, it felt like you took on his burdens. You forced your hand to be still, so he did not see your will waver. The slightest of slimes appeared on his lips, and you felt your heart soar. For even just a bit of his happiness, you would take on the world. âIâll try.â
âThank you.â You whispered, hoping he didnât hear the way your voice nearly cracked. His eyes opened, and you put on a smile for him. You watched as he sat there, watching you for a few more moments before he let go of your hand. When stood up, wobbling just a touch. You wrapped an arm around his waist to steady him. Gently, you squeezed his hip. âCome on, letâs go inside, Princess Kitana has been dying to thank you for freeing her and I have to go with Nightwolf to find a new base in America to help with the recent invasions.â
âThank you.â Liu Kang said, his voice full of warmth.
âItâs no issue.â You said, your words full of sincerity and fondness. âI would do anything for you.â You told him, a broad smile on your lips. Your heart felt lighter than it has in a while. Just barely, you caught the hint of pink upon his ears when he turned his head. âIâll have your back, always, Liu Kang.â
Waking up felt like a haze.Â
The warmth of Liu Kangâs flank against your side lingered. You laid upon the bed, which had been somewhat patched up due to you sewing up the sheets and the mattress. Your hand fiddled with the sheets, staring up at the soft glow on the ceiling as you ruminated upon what you had discovered and what to exactly do with this information.
How strange it was despite your long years of knowing Liu Kang, you still had memories left to discover with him connected to them. And those words you said, why did they feel so familiar? Not familiar in the sense that you had said them, but you swore you heard them elsewhere. You thought long and hard about it, trying to find a rhyme or reason why you had these feelings. There were several minutes that passed. You sighed as you rubbed your head. The most logical conclusion you could come up with was that it was because youâve been in Outworld.
What else could it be? All these memories did resurface ever since youâve gotten here. Â
You paused, a sudden thought breaking through the rest like a sprinter did when they ran towards the finish. You breath caught as you stared at the ceiling. Was there any point in returning to Earthrealm if all your memories were here? You laid there for a long while after, unable to ignore the logic your brain was conjuring up.
You groaned as rubbed at your face. There was no point incessantly worrying over this issue, it was not like you could do anything to change the duration of your stay here. At least, thatâs what youâre trying to convince yourself. The little whisper in your head would try and continue to try and think over it. You swung your legs over the edge of the bed. Your fingers glided over the hasty sewed up areas of the bed, noting the bumpiness. Youâd just hope no one would notice.Â
Then, after a few more moments of sitting, you sighed. You sighed so hard, like you were trying to relinquish your worries that way. You closed your eyes, trying to rid your worries once more. Then after that futile attempt, you got up and stretched. Might as well start your day.
After going through the morning routine youâve become somewhat accustomed to, you stepped out into the hall. Perhaps it was the room, or maybe it was the last of the warm memories finally leaving, but it feltâŚcolder outside. Not enough to have you shivering, but it sent a slight chill through you. A few goosebumps appeared on your arms.
You stood there for a moment. At first, you didnât realize why, but then as you heard the tapping of feet coming from the far down hallway you realized you were waiting. You turned your head to see the usual culprit, Princess Kitana. You gave her a cheery wave to which she gave a respectable nod. You met her halfway down the hallway. If someone were to observe, they may notice, just for a fleeting moment, that her steps went faster before meeting you.
âGlad to see weâre both back on schedule.â You commented, a light playful tone to your voice. You watched as Kitanaâs eyes squinted slightly, the edges of her lips curved upwards in the slightest smile. She hummed, a hint of amusement in her voice. As soon as you joined her side she seemed to be content and nodded, as if she were acknowledging that contentment. Still, as you stood next to her, you felt that familiar nagging feeling once more.
Why did you always feel it around her?
âI heard you got the privilege to tour the Imperial Academy.â Kitana spoke, breaking the silence. Her voice did not hide her intrigue at the idea of you at the academy. Her eyes seemed to rake over you, scrutinizing every little detail of you she could see. You resisted the urge to shiver, to not show the slight moment of weakness upon her observant gaze. âHow did you find it?â She inquired a moment later, her voice seeming to imply she already knew your answer. Your eyebrows raised just very at the thought.Â
âIt was lovely.â You admitted, finding yourself unable to conceal the underlying admiration you felt towards the location. You tilted your head upwards to look at the vast expanse of white marble overhead, thinking of all the wonders you had seen. You were even beginning to see the swirls of magic within the material above. You didnât think you were obsessed, but it would be hard to deny that idea with how you were seeing things that werenât even there. You didnât notice how her smile grew, becoming less restrained. âI wish magic was more used in Earthrealm, itâd be nice to see a school much like the academy there.â
âYou seem very interested in magic.â The princess said, reading your reaction. It wasnât an incredibly difficult feat though, it was obvious to anyone who could see. You could not help but nod in response, only feeling a touch embarrassed at being so obvious. A small chuckle left your lips. Her eyes seemed to soften, if just a touch. âIf I recall correctly, you have magic as well. Animal shapeshifting, correct? I overheard it at the banquet.â
âYes, animal shapeshifting.â You confirmed. You held out your hand, letting it shift into a lionâs paw outstretched with its claws out. You saw the hint of amazement in Kitanaâs eyes. Her eyes traced the length of your transformed limb, then stared intently at the flesh where it transitioned. âIâd like to think Iâm rather proficient in it.â
âI see.â The blue clad princess said, her tone indicating a hint of interest at your display of magic. âHad you been an Outworlder, I would say you would have a chance at excelling greatly at the Academy.â She admitted. For a moment, your heart skipped a beat at the high praise. Then, you felt a little silly at being so pleased at the compliment. After all, itâs not like it meant you could get in even with your magical skills.
âA shame that Iâm not.â You say, a small wistful tone in your voice. It still feltâŚodd to not label yourself as an Outworlder. In Earthrealm, you did not feel right calling yourself one of them. But here, you did not feel right calling yourself an Outworlder either. Was there really a label youâd feel comfortable with?
âPerhaps, in another life, you could have.â Kitana said, offering you an apologetic smile. You nearly stumbled in your steps upon hearing those words, and the nagging feeling disappeared as the pieces fell into place. Your eyes widened and you stared at the princess, who seemed none the wiser as she gazed into the Great Hall, which you both had ended up at finally.
Thatâs why you had that feeling and why it was always around her.
Those were the exact words she said as she had laid dying in your lap, in that vision you had about the amulet. Your fingers twitched as you took in a deep breath, holding back a wave of nostalgia as you gazed at her for a few moments more. It was an odd feeling, seeing the princess alive and healthy with little idea of who you were compared to the last time when she had said those words and she had been one of your closest allies and dying in your lap.
âEnjoy the match.â Kitana bid you goodbye, offering a small smile before walking off. You nodded, barely able to return her goodbye before she was out of earshot. Your gaze lingered on her a moment more. Your stomach twisted, and you were uncertain how to make use of the information you had gleaned.
Why did it seem like everyone you had cared about in the last life died?Â
Was that fated to happen once more?
Before you could get too lost in your spiraling thoughts, you felt a hand on your shoulder. Your thoughts paused, as if the hand on your shoulder pulled you away from all the noise. You turned your head slowly to see Kenshi looking at you, eyebrows raised. You sent him a bit of a forced smile, trying to not worry him any more than he seemed to be.
âYou were spacing out.â Kenshi said simply. His eyes focused on you, searching your face for any indication for your unusual behavior. You felt your smile grow the slightest bit strained, like a string being pulled just a bit too tight. His eyebrows knit together, and you felt a sense of embarrassment at how he could read your expression.
Or maybe you were just easy to read in general. Either way, you didnât feel too great about that.
âEarly mornings, you know how it is.â You said, using possibly the lamest excuse you could have. You nearly wanted to smack your forehead as you realized how uncharacteristic that sounded as well. If anyone were to say that excuse, you were the last one who should have. Your jaw set a tiny bit more, trying to make your smile more prominent.
âI see.â Kenshi said, after a few more moments. There was an odd tension between the two of you. It was the type of tension that could only be made between someone who had lied very, very horribly, and by someone who could see right through the lie as if it were the most polished glass in the world. His hand squeezed your shoulder.Â
Your gaze dropped to the hand on your shoulder. You stared at the tattoo on his hands, having nearly forgotten the designs on his hands. He didnât put them on display very often. Your lips pursed, and you thought long and hard about whether he had similar tattoos, if any, in the old timeline. You donât think he did.
âSee something interesting?â Kenshiâs words cut through your thoughts. You glanced up, seeing his concerned expression having changed into one of interest. The ex-yakuza memberâs eyebrows were raised, and his head tilted ever so slightly to the side. His eyes, which you now noted to be just the perfect shade for him, were trained on you. There was a certain tone to his voice that you couldnât pin down, was it playfulness?
âI was just looking at your tattoos. Theyâre really pretty.â You admitted, before wanting to smack yourself. It was not because of the admittance, it was because you had forgotten the connection the tattoos had to his past. âNot that I think theyâre too pretty, because of your connection with your past.â You quickly added on, resisting the urge to cringe at the addition. You sighed and closed your eyes, shaking your head. âI think theyâre nice, regardless of your past, is what I meant.âÂ
âMaybe the early morning is getting to you.â Kenshi said, his voice having just the tiniest hint of a teasing lilt to it. Once more, he squeezed your shoulder. His eyes seemed to shine a bit, and a smile grew. Out of all your champions, he smiled the least. But whenever he did, you always seemed to notice how bright it felt to you. âBut thank you for the compliment, now letâs join the group. Even Cage is there now.â
And so, the two of you walked over to the group. A round of greetings were passed between the group. You did your best to maintain your steady composure. It was getting harder and harder with all the memories coming back rapidly, especially with how dreadful theyâve been lately. Liu Kang and Kung Laoâs greetings were the hardest to return as you were trying your best not to space out and linger on the differences between their past selves and now.
Still, you did it, and no one seemed the wiser. Kung Lao had even given you some food. You were nearly honored by the gesture, knowing he saved you some food instead of taking it all for himself. You let out a small huff at the little wink he sent your way when he handed you an extra portion.Â
âWhat was up with your little moment with Tattoo?â Johnny asked, leaning over with an all too nosy tone in his voice. Youâve seen the older women in Fengjian be less nosy than he was. And man were they always vying for some gossip whenever you visited Madam Bo. You sent him a perplexed look, which seemed to spur him on. âYou know, like, when he had his hand on your shoulder.â He said. His hands were very emotive, portraying the story all on their own.
âNothing.â You said, dismissively. You shrugged, and you watched as Johnny seemed to deflate at your answer. He was either not pleased at the lackluster answer, or how little you elaborated. Probably even a mixture of both. âIt was seriously nothing, he just noticed I was spacing out.â You continued, hoping to satiate the little bit of curiosity he had.
âMhm, sure.â He replied, a hint of skepticism in his tone. âWeâll discuss this later.â The actor insisted. You opened your mouth to respond that there was nothing else to discuss, but then the Empress and princesses strode in, causing you to fall silent. Instead, you sent him a hint of a glare. Of course, the actor didnât care, just sending you a sunny grin in return.
What unlucky timing.
âOnce again, we gather to witness another day of the tournament.â Sindel announced, scanning the crowd. When her eyes landed on Raiden, who seemed to be growing in confidence with every win, her lips pursed. You held back a chuckle at the slight annoyance that glimmered in her eyes. You saw her take in a deep breath before continuing. âAfter three fights, your resolve has not yet broken.â She observed, raising an eyebrow. âToday, we shall see if that will change.â
There was a pause before she continued.
âToday, you shall fight one of my most trusted allies.â The Empress announced. You were surprised for a brief moment. The last two fights were chosen by the general, did she finally get fed up with his choices? You held back yet another laugh at the prospect. âSheeva of the Shokan shall be your opponent today.âÂ
From the end of the hallway emerged a broad, tall figure. Nearly rivaling Kotal in size, a woman dressed in battle-ready armor appeared. You felt a slight buzz upon seeing her, but nothing overly major. Her armor, though indicative of a warrior, appeared different from the ones that both Reiko, Kotal, and General Shao had all donned. It was a hint more decorative, and it reminded you very slightly of the umgadi gear. A purple sash that matched Sindelâs colors was pinned across her body.
âSheeva is one of the best warriors from the Shokan. Fierce and loyal, she is one of the best guards and warriors I have come to know.â Sindel said, a certain type of fondness in her voice. It felt like a stark contrast to the way she had regarded Li Mei. Sheeva seemed to take the praise in stride, holding her head up high. All four of her arms flexed, showing the muscles that she had gained through the years. âMay she grace us with a fight to display just how well she can fight.â
âI have heard many things about your prowess, young one.â Sheeva spoke, gazing down at Raiden. Her face, though it looked unimpressed, did seem to hold just a bit of respect within it. Her upper arms crossed over her chest, while the lower set of arms were firmly placed upon her hips. Her gaze was so strong it was nearly unnerving. âWe shall see if they are true.â
âI will try my best to prove it true.â Raiden replied, nodding. Despite the difference in both bulk and height, Raiden seemed to not be cowed in the slightest. You smiled at the sight, feeling proud of the strength he displayed. He has certainly come a long way since the beginning of your training. From a meek sapling to a strong, sturdy tree.
Sheevaâs way of fighting reminded you a bit of Reikoâs. They both utilized the same grappling style, trying to latch onto Raiden like a leech to hit him. The Shokan was amazingly proficient at using all of her arms within combat. Her fighting style, though like the second in command, did not match the calculated way she fought. That part of her felt more like Kotal.
Her brutality was not out of bloodlust, but from the cold precision of knowing her true strength and how to use it against her opponent. Even when she stomped harshly on Raidenâs back, there was no maniac energy from her. It was a detail that you did not miss.
Had Raiden not fought against other grapplers and those who already outsized him in a match, he would have fared far worse. But, unfortunately for the Shokan, it seemed that the previous two matches only served to prepare him for this fight. Sure, he did take a heavy hit here and there, but for the most part it went far smoother than the last few matches did.Â
It did not take long for him to stand over Sheeva, a tired but elated look on his face.
âI hope that proved my determination to you.â He said, his voice a bit breath as he adjusted his rumpled clothes. A groan left the beaten Shokanâs face. But as she stumbled to her feet, she seemed to nod in response. Her head dipped low, a look of shame coating her face. She seemed to hold herself a little less tall now. The two exchanged bows, before the woman walked out, her footsteps heavy with defeat.
âCongratulations upon yet another win.â Sindel said, her lips curling upwards. Her smile, once again, did not reach her eyes. In fact, her eyes did not even seem to follow the victor. Instead, they trailed after Sheeva, a slight look of disappointment within them. She cleared her throat, and the momentary weakness disappeared. âWe shall adjourn at first light once again.â
âHah, was that even a challenge for you?â Kung Lao spoke, walking merrily to his friend. A playful shove was sent Raidenâs way. A small âowâ left his lips as he rubbed his arm, which certainly must be sore from how Sheeva had been tugging him around. âI think youâve got this in the bag!â He encouraged, though this time it lacked the little shove.
âIndeed, your training reflects well in your matches.â Liu Kang added in. He sent a little bit of a look towards Kung Lao. âRemember not to grow complacent, the next few matches may prove to be more challenging than the previous ones.â He warned. His hands were clasped neatly in front of him. The fire godâs gaze then turned to you, expectantly.
âLord Liu Kang is right. As long as you remember what we taught you when you fight, youâll do fine.â You said, giving him a small smile. You crossed your arms as you shifted your weight. âBut I do agree, youâll need to be vigilant. Iâd say it was a lucky streak that your last opponents had similar fighting styles, but the next few may fight very differently from them.â You placed a hand on his arm, trying to be comforting. âBut I, and so do the rest of us, believe in you.â
âI-â Raiden began, seeming a bit caught off guard by either your words or the touch on his arm. He cleared his throat, a faint flush on his cheeks. Johnny took your attention away by slinging an arm around your shoulders. Turning to give him a confused look and to shrug off his touch, you missed the brief look that Raiden sent your way before you turned back. âI understand, Iâll do my best.âÂ
âGood.â You commended, sending him a bigger smile this time. Then, after a moment, your hand dropped from his arm. Liu Kang picked up from your little moment, telling the group a few things before he dismissed them. You watched as Liu Kang, Kenshi, and Raiden all walked off. But Kung Lao lingered, a look of contemplation on his face. You tilted your head as you walked forward to stand next to the man. âSomething on your mind?â
âJust thinking.â Kung Lao answered, a thoughtful tone to his voice. You raised your eyebrows, nodding to see if he would go on. After a few moments, he did. âI know Raiden deserved to be the champion butâŚâ He said, trailing off as he looked to the side. You nodded, placing a hand on his bicep and squeezed it gently, making him return his gaze to you.
âI admire your willingness to fight.â You said, cautiously picking your words. The memory of the old Kung Lao dying because he had been far too eager to fight lingered in your mind. Was it a warning of things to come? Or was it merely just a stain in your mind that would never go away? âBut know that we all see your value even without you launching yourself head first into battle.â You pinched his arm. âDonât go around and be reckless to try and prove yourself, okay?â
âIf I were to fight though, Iâd win.â Kung Lao retorted playfully, but that attitude melted away to reveal a more genuine smile. âI know, though.â He said, nodding. âI promise I wonât go around picking fightsâŚunless they deserve it.â He said, grinning at you. When you sent him an unamused look, he rolled his eyes before laughing. âIâm kidding! I wonât.â He claimed, raising his hands up in surrender.
âGood. Iâm going to do some shopping now, okay?â You said, nodding with a satisfied smile. You dropped your hand, missing the way the farmhandâs eyes trailed after it. As you were about to walk off to go tour Sun Do for gifts, you felt a hand upon your arm. Your eyes trailed up from the hand to the culprit. It was none other than Johnny. âDid you need something?â
âYeah.â The actor said, his smile that was so bright it nearly rivaled the sun. His hand dropped so he could spread his arms out wide. âSaw the other day that Rai-dude got to have a day with you, itâs my turn now.â He announced, seeming almost a bit too proud of himself. âThat, and I did say we had stuff to discuss later.â
âWeâre taking turns hanging out?â Kung Lao spoke up, having not left yet. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked back and forth between you and Johnny Cage. A look of utter confusion was obvious on his face. You were nearly certain that a similar look was upon your face. You were no less confused than he was. âWhen am I getting my day?âÂ
âWeâre not taking turns, donât worry about it.â You reassured the former farmhand. You looked back at Johnny with an exasperated look. âDonât say things like that, people will get the wrong idea, Cage.â You scolded him pointing a finger his way. âWhy do you even need me to accompany you today?â You inquired. You noticed the slightly irritated tone in your voice and sent him an apologetic look. âNot that I mind.â
âI need someone to help take some pictures of me around Sun Do so I can post it on my socials.â The American informed you causally. Either he didnât notice the tone in your voice, or didnât care. You were assuming that with him, it was the latter. A broad grin crossed his features as a more confused look appeared over your face.Â
âBut I wouldnât anyone else be bet-â You began. You were shortly cut off by Johnny grabbing your hand. With a surprised shout, you were dragged off by Johnny outside of the palace before you could protest more. Too stunned, you let him lead you away, mind still mulling over the strange excuse he had given you.
Left in the dust was Kung Lao who looked at where you two had disappeared to. There was a moment where there was nothing but sheer confusion spread across his face. Then, Kenshi passed by, having returned to the Great hall. He looked at the farm hand with a perplexed look as well. He glanced back and forth between where Kung Lao was looking and the man himself.
âAre you okay?â The swordsman asked, having not been there to witness the little scene.Â
âYeah.â Kung Lao said, snapping out of his stupor. He shook his head, trying to dispel the strange hurt feeling he felt before shrugging. âIâm just really, really confused.â
âYou didnât have to drag me out here, Cage.â
âNah, I totally did have to.â Johnny said simply. The blunt response stunned you for a moment. Normally, you would have a witty remark or be able to bounce back. But with how strange Johnny has been lately, youâve found yourself more and more uncertain of what to say in response. You didnât quite like how speechless youâve become.Â
âNo, you really didnât have to.â You insisted. Your words fell upon deaf ears as Johnny continued to drag you towards the capital. It wasnât until you both made it to the city that he finally released your hand. You sighed as you sent him a look before shaking your head. âWell, weâre here.â You stated the obvious, looking around at the crowd. âWhere did you need the picture?â
âOh, we donât need to do that now.â The actor told you with a grin. You stared at him with a look of disbelief. âIn fact we have to wait. I wanted to do these pictures at sunset so we can get those sweet, sweet colors.â You looked upwards into the sky, noting just how early it was. Sunset was hours away. You sighed, you guess you were stuck with the man for a bit. He didnât seem dismayed at all by your reaction, instead slinging an arm around you and leaning in close. âSo, where to first?â
âI didnât really have a plan.â You said, crossing your arms. âI was really going to go window shopping.â You inform him, trying to think of ideas for the two brothers you hadnât gotten gifts for yet. So far, you were drawing a blank. Glancing over to Johnny, who seemed to be very pleased with placing almost all his weight upon you, you pursed your lips. âI suppose you donât have any ideas for what to get Bi-Han and Kuai Liang?â
âThe ninjas?â Johnny inquired, eyebrows raising. Before you could correct him that they werenât quite ninjas he continued, âI dunno, some breath mints for frost face?â He suggested, shrugging. You sent him an exasperated look, but you supposed asking Johnny out of any of them was the wrong decision. He probably didnât hold either of them in such high regard after what they did to hisâŚHichuli. He laughed at your reaction, nudging you. âOkay, fine, how about we go window shopping like you said, weâre bound to think of some ideas.â
âSounds like a plan.â You said, nodding. You stood there, waiting for him to move. When he remained leaning against you, you raised your eyebrows. âAre you expecting me to be able to drag you around everywhere?â You inquired, a tinge of amusement in your voice apparent. A smile spread across your lips. Maybe it was because he was an actor, but he never failed to be entertaining to you.
âWhereâs your sense of fun?â He groaned, a hint of a pout on his lips. Still, he relented and got off of you. With an overexaggerated bow that reminded you of certain characters in a movie, he gestured towards the city. âLead the way?â He inquired, his eyebrows waggling playfully. You rolled your eyes at the grand performance and chuckled before beginning to walk over to the stores.
Even after touring part of Sun Do with Raiden, there were still plenty of shops you had not explored yet. Both you and Johnny peeked into stores, marveling over their wares with different degrees of wonder. There were a few times where youâd hear mutter how he wished that he had an easy way to convert his American dollars to the Outworlder coin.Â
It took a while until you found a good gift. Or rather, until Johnny found a good gift.
âHow about this?â The actor asked. The two of you had ended up in some sort of jewelry store. While you hadnât been too keen on the wares here fitting the idea of a gift for either of the brothers, you both decided to tour it anyways. Upon seeing the suggestion Johnny lifted towards you, you were infinitely glad that you did.
You grabbed the ribbon he had held up, eyes wide with amazement. It was made of gold and black fabric, perfectly long enough to do someoneâs hair. In fact, it seemed meant to be tied into oneâs hair to keep it up. The thread work was immaculate. It was woven intricately, creating a pattern that vaguely reminded you of a scorpion.Â
It was practically perfect.
âWhere did you find this?â You asked. You rubbed your thumb over the design before flipping it over and admiring how soft the fabric was. You looked from the ribbon over to Johnny to see what may be the smuggest look youâve seen on his face. âI mean, this is pretty much what Iâve been looking for.â
âJust over here.â Johnny told you, pointing his thumb in the direction of a display of other ribbons. You wandered over, humming as you perused the rest of the collection. Unfortunately, there was nothing that stuck out to you as something youâd want to give to Bi-Han. Still, as you looked back down at the ribbon in your hands, you were grateful to find something. âYou seem really pleased by my findings.â He observed. You could hear the grin through his words. âDo I get to have a reward or something?â
âOr something.â You sassed back, shaking your head. Still, you looked over to the man with a smile. âThanks for helping me, Johnny.â You thanked him sincerely. The smile he sent made your heart skip a beat, though you werenât quite sure why. Deciding not lingering on the why part, you turned and went to the counter to pay for the item.
Surprisingly, it was cheaper than you expected. A fact that you were grateful for so you did not completely lose your money on this one gift. The centaurian man who helped you even offered to package it in a pretty gift box for free.Â
âYouâre not trying to find a pretty little trinket for yourself, wildstyle?â Johnny inquired as you rejoined him near the entrance. He sent you an inquisitive look as he crossed his arms. You shook your head as you tucked the box away into your bag for safe keeping. You would be devastated to find that you had lost the perfect gift for Kuai Liang. âYouâre a strange one.â
âReally now?â You quipped back, raising your eyebrows as you turned back to look at him. You peered over to the sky, noting how low the sun had gotten. Browsing around had taken far more time than you had expected. It was nearly time for taking pictures soon, assuming that the man still wanted them. âDid you want to go find a spot to take your pictures now? Or did you still want to help me look for Bi-Hanâs gift?â
âStill donât get why youâre buying gifts for the man who broke my Hichuli, but I guess weâve got some more daylight to burn.â Johnny replied, shrugging.
And so, the two of you continued to browse. Unfortunately, even between the two of you, you still failed to find something appropriate for the icy grandmaster. Luckily for you, you still saw that there were plenty of stalls to go through. Tomorrow, perhaps youâd have better luck.
Thatâs how you got to the pier, squinting down at Johnnyâs phone. Youâve rarely touched his phone. The only times youâve bothered to interact with it was to play Candy Crush whenever the actor wanted to bribe you to give them a break, or to show Kung Lao the video.Â
Still, holding it in your hands, something about the device felt oddlyâŚfamiliar.
âYou know how to take a picture, right?â Johnny said, leaning over to point at the screen. You looked over to him, giving him a sigh.
âThatâs what I was going to tell you, Cage.â You told him, sending him an exasperated look. You had nearly forgotten about his little excuse to drag you out here. How silly it seemed now. You thought about telling him if he had just asked to accompany you on your little shopping trip that you would have let him, but you figured you were past that point now. âI have no idea how to really take a picture, so your luck with me taking actual quality ones for your social media is pretty low.â
âYouâll probably have a knack for it.â The actor encouraged you. He positioned so he could wrap his arms around you, placing his hands upon yours. While Johnny was usually touchy, this feltâŚdifferent. You suppressed a shiver as you noted how gentle he was being. âHere, lift it up to this angle.â He instructed, his voice quieter than usual. And yet, when it was right next to your ear you hardly noticed how he was pretty much whispering. Was your face getting hot?
âGood.â Johnny praised, and like usual, you could hear the smile in his voice. The smile your heard though, was a different type of smile. It wasnât arrogant or smug. It felt like he was proud of you. âYouâll want to tap the screen if itâs out of focus.â He said, and tapped on the screen to demonstrate. You nodded, pursing your lips as you tried your best to focus on the task at hand. Did he really have to be this close though?
âAnything else I should know?â You asked, hoping the way you spoke didnât reflect the way you were feeling oddly nervous right now. You had no idea why your nerves were acting up, it isnât as if you were being tested on anything. You did not turn your head, feeling like you would grow more nervous if you turned your head to look at the man.
âNope, you should be good. Iâll be telling you whenever to take a shot. Oh, taking a picture is this button by the way.â He said, pressing the circle at the bottom of the screen. You nodded diligently, back oddly straight as you tried to focus on anything but him. You had to hide your sigh of relief as he unwrapped his arms, backing up. âAlright, let me get into position.âÂ
You watched as Johnny jogged over to the spot he had apparently determined in his head. You kept your arms up, not wanting to lose the perfect angle that the man had decided for you. Still, the memory of his touch on your hands lingered in your mind. Johnny prepped himself, moving between a few poses before he settled on one and called out for you to take a picture. You grinned at the rather amusing pose he struck. Was he trying to pretend to hold the sun?
Nodding, you moved your thumb to press the button. Accidentally though, you made the screen flip, making it turn to your smiling face. Following that accident, you pressed the button. With a sigh, you furrowed your eyebrows as you tried to figure out how to turn it back around. After a few moments, you offered him an apologetic smile as he walked back to you.
âDid you get the shot?â He asked, raising his eyebrows. You shook your head and handed the phone over, sighing.
âI told you I didnât know how to take pictures.â You sighed, pointing at the screen and how it was still using the forward facing camera. âI accidentally flipped the screen and made it take a picture of me.â You explained, your tone indicating your embarrassment at not knowing how to navigate the device well. You watched as he lifted the phone up, so he could see it better. The only issue now was that you couldnât see it. âSo I didnât get the picture, sorry.â
âMain man Lord Liu Kang should really get you a phone so you can start learning. Donât sweat it though, Teach.â Johnny observed, humming as he tapped the screen a few times. His eyes lit up after a few moments. A small smile curled onto his lips. Then, almost as if remembering you were there, he cleared his throat as he looked back to you.Â
It was rare to see him taken off his guard.
âHere.â He said after a few moments. When the phone was handed back to you, it was correctly oriented this time. âTry not to switch it again, or do, I donât mind having a few photos of you in my phone.â Johnny teased you, sending you a wink. Before you could retort, he jogged back to the spot. You shook your head, unable to resist a smile.
This time, you took what you thought was a pretty good picture.
By the time you and Johnny returned to the palace, it was dark. You had spent the fading bits of daylight on taking every picture you could. You thought it was excessive, but the actor had told you something along the lines of âwe donât finish until itâs perfect in the industryâ. You had tried to tell him that there was no industry here, but he promptly ignored you.
You had half a mind to groan at his stubbornness.
âBusy day?â Raiden inquired, seeing the both of you walk into the hallway. It seems the reserved seats had changed for the both of you. You had a choice of either between Kenshi and Liu Kang or between Raiden and Kung Lao. You slipped into the one next to the champion, humming as you reached over to get your share of food.Â
âYou could call it that.â You replied. You muttered an apology as you bumped into Raiden as you leaned over. He took your apology in stride, smiling generously at you. âI managed to get another gift under my belt. No luck in finding one for Bi-Han though.â You said, sighing. âThen again, I predicted getting a gift for him would be the most difficult.â
âMaybe tomorrow I can help.â Kenshi spoke up. You glanced up at him, a bit of surprise on your face. You nearly missed the look of what you could only call betrayal on Kung Laoâs face. Why that was the case, you had no idea. You felt a little bad, it looked a little funny. You brought a hand to hide the bits of a smile that threatened to slip through. You hummed, tilting your head after you recovered from your near smile. You thought about the offer for a moment before nodding.
âI wouldnât mind that.â You said. As you peered down at the food on the table, you missed the pointed looks the swordsman got. When you looked up, they were gone. âIâve found that I find the gifts whenever Iâm with one of you anyways, might as well not break the streak.â You said contemplatively. âHow was the rest of the day for you guys?â
The rest of dinner went smoothly from there. There was chatter here and there, catching up on each otherâs day. It wasnât until dinner was over that you encountered something unexpected. You stood up from your seat, excusing yourself. You had plans to get a bit of alone time before your usual meeting with the princess. Yet, when you turned around you were met with the sight of Rain.
âOh, hello.â You greeted, blinking owlishly. You offered a small wave, to which the mage returned. âDid you need something from me?â You asked, looking around to see if there was something obvious around to indicate what he wanted.Â
âAh, nothing much. I just wanted to talk.â He said, offering you a smile. You returned the smile, a hint of surprise and joy in your eyes. You knew Rain had offered you friendship the other day, but you didnât actually expect him to want to spend more time together than he did yesterday. âDo you have the time for a little chat?â He inquired, his hands sweeping out to gesture to a hallway.
âOh, definitely.â You said, nodding perhaps a bit too eagerly. You werenât sure why, but Rain and you seemed to click quickly. You chalked it up to the shared interest in magic, and how he seemed to admire your drive to get better. âIâll see you guys around.â You said, waving to the group before you walked off with your new friend.
âLord Liu Kang, your stare isâŚintense.â Raiden pointed out quietly after you and your new friend disappeared down the hallway. The Fire God diverted his gaze away from where you had gone to the champion. He cleared his throat, putting on a cordial smile.
âDo not worry about it.â Liu Kang reassured the man. He cast his gaze upon the rest of the group, nodding at them. âEnjoy the rest of your evening. I shall see you all tomorrow for Raidenâs next fight.â He then stood and disappeared too, retiring to his chambers.
Even gods like him were not immune to human emotions.
You had talked longer with Rain than expected.Â
It wasnât until you saw the man yawn that you realized just how late it had gotten. You felt a twinge of guilt course through you as you quickly realized you had to dismiss yourself. Searching around, you excused yourself, giving him an apologetic smile.
âI really should be going, I struggle with waking up without proper sleep.â You lied. You did feel bad lying to your new friend, but you werenât certain just how public the information of your meetings with Mileena were. You figured it was best to play it safe and pretend they did not occur. With an understanding nod, the mage smiled.
âI understand.â He said. There was a pause, his lips parting before he shook his head. Your eyebrows raised at the action, but didnât question it. You didnât want to be too forward and scare him off. âI hope to talk to you soon. Itâs refreshing to talk to someone like you.âÂ
âI feel the same.â You told him, nodding. You watched him walk off, taking slow steps away. Then, as soon as you deemed yourself safe enough not to be caught in a lie, you slunk off in the darkness to the hanging gardens. You nearly transformed to make the job easier, but you figured that was more suspicious, so you stuck to the teachings Madam Bo had taught you.
Reaching the gardens, you let out a sigh. Here you felt safe enough to not sneak around. You looked around, spying for any sign of the princess. You caught a hint of pink, and walked right over. Just as expected, she was waiting on the bench for you.
âApologies for my late arrival.â You said, not even certain if you were even late. It is not as if you had a clock to judge the time. Even if you did, you werenât even sure if Outworld ran on the same time system as Earthrealm did. You rushed over to take your spot near her after she indicated towards it with her hand. âI got caught up in conversation.â
âLucky for you, I just got here.â Mileena remarked. The jesting tone in her voice had you relax, letting out another sigh of relief. Hints of thinly veiled amusement sparkled in her eyes accompanying the little smirk on her lips. âI assume you were giving your champion a rousing speech for tomorrowâs match?â She inquired, an expectant tone in her voice.
âAh, no actually.â You said. You felt a little silly, realizing that her assumption was something you actually should be doing. You knew Raiden did well off of praise. Not only that, but it didnât hurt to be a little more encouraging towards the champion. Maybe you should do that tomorrow night, especially since you knew that if he won this one, he would have to fight the princess beside you. âI was talking to the High Mage, Rain.â
âI did not know you two were soâŚfamiliar.â The princess said, raising an eyebrow. You heard the curiosity in her tone. You chuckled at her phrasing, shaking your head as you waved your hands dismissively.
âNot at all.â You said, holding back a disbelieving chuckle. âHe and I simply got along well during the banquet and became friends of sorts..â You explained. You turned your gaze away from the princess to the sky. âItâs refreshing to hear someone talk about magic with such fasciation and depth.âÂ
âI did not realize you were so intrigued by magic.â Mileena remarked. This time, a hint of surprise appeared in her voice. âDo you possess magic yourself, or are you simply fascinated by the subject?â She inquired. Her gaze scanned your form, trying to see any indication of magic upon your person. Her calculating gaze felt just like her younger sisterâs.
âI have magic.â You said. âMagic doesnât really exist in Earthrealm in the same ways it does here.â You explained. âVery little people know magic themselves, and the ones I know who have such magic donât have the same passion as the people Iâve met here.â You shrugged causally.
âPerhaps it has something to do with the goddess Delia.â Mileena proposed. âAs far as I am concerned, the only god Earthrealm has is Lord Liu Kang, correct?â She inquired. You nodded. You doubted Liu Kang would have hidden another god of Earthrealm from you. âDelia is the goddess of magic, it is natural that Outworld would simply have more magic than Earthrealm.â
âI suppose.â You said, not knowing what to quite respond to that. She was probably correct. You pursed your lips as you pondered on the subject of magic for a few moments more before realizing that Mileena had been staring at you. âOh, right the story, my bad.â You said, straightening up. You cleared your throat before glancing at the princess. âAny particular stories youâd like to hear about tonight?â
âHow about you tell me about Earthrealmâs version of magic?â The princess proposed, connecting the prior conversation to the story she wished to hear. You smiled at the sentiment, thinking of what to tell her before nodding and proceeding.
That night, you told her of magic. And that night, you tried your best to ignore the longing ache in your heart.

TY GRAPE WAHHH (clinging to ur arm) for the shipping axis can I ask forrr nichu, frachu, fraviet, and hksg :3 and also sgpan so I'm not sending an unlucky number ur way lolol
THANKS FOR NOT CURSING ME W DEATH REAL ASF OF U TIANSHI
NICHU - has always had a special place in my heart :â) itâs got everything, the mentor/mentee drama, yandere kiku, insane toxicity and historicity. to me it makes a lot of sense but itâs lower on the compelling axis because i find them sooo difficult to write + the sheer number of depictions that dont quite align w my vision of them
SGHK - is also up there for me both because itâs compelling and makes a lot of sense. itâs slightly lower on the making a lot of sense scale than nichu because it doesnât have the codependency of, say, malsg but i can think of many, many hcs for them so itâs higher on the compelling scale :>
SGPAN - LOVE THEM DEARLY. kikuâs awful little replacement. i do not have many thoughts on them though besides The Horrors, but i appreciate them from afar and for their historicity
FRACHU - i donât really have many thoughts on it! They have definitely been intimate (dubcon or no), hatefucking is a norm. I used to like it more but generally it doesnât compel me much outside of certain contexts because i do think yaoyao cannot stand his ass
FRAVIET - my blasphemous take is that they can be pretty compelling! but no i donât feel they make much sense if weâre talking actual ship AUs and all and not horrible interactions spanning the time which french indochina existed. i believe viet would have better taste than to fall for this guy, and i believe fraviet tends to fall into the trap of centering france

Series Masterlist __ MasterlistÂ
< Previous ChapterÂ
The scene was supposed to be joyous, but, for some reason, the majority of what you felt was filled with sadness. Not for any particular reason, it was just the weigh of your decision finally settling in your heart and the realization hitting you that you would indeed be getting married in a week to a total stranger, who was a mobster, none less.Â
You chose it, you had to remind yourself as tears fought their way in your eyes. It was just momentary sadness overpowering you, the feeling that your wedding wouldnât be filled with people loving and caring for you, that the day would be more about showing off Steveâs power over the world than showing his love for his new bride, for whom he had none. And you would be there almost alone: no parents, no extended family, and a very few close friends. Whom you loved dearly, of course, and without whom you wouldnât even be considering taking such a step. You needed them there, and not just the two lovable idiots you lived with.Â
It was also people youâve come to love during your university years as well as some coworkers, like Christy and Anja. Together it made around 15 people, which was actually a lot more than you had anticipated, but still. It would have to be Aidan walking you down the aisle, and just the mere thought made a choked sob escape your lips.Â
The sound brought the attention of the room to you, and before you knew it, you were enveloped in a bone-crushing hug from all the people there, everyone telling you that you should be happy, that this was a good thing. Of course, nobody except Caroline and Aidan knew the reality behind the wedding. All they thought was happening was that you fell madly in love with Steve Rogers, and now you two were tying the knot. You even overhead Aisha say that you were definitely pregnant, otherwise, you wouldnât have rushed into it like this. You tried to assure everyone that there was no pregnancy at all, but, of course, people believed what they wanted, and you lacked the energy to go around the room and speak to them individually, denying what they formed in their heads.Â
It was Friday night, and you were in your apartment, surrounded by all those people who would come to your wedding. You sent a list of names to Steve that afternoon, and, after what you assumed was a background check on all of them, he agreed that yes, these 15 people could actually come. And when he did, you called an emergency meeting at your apartment, using it both as a way of inviting them to the wedding and as a kind of bachelorette party, where all you wanted to do was to drink heavily, eat a disgusting amount of carbs and pass out around dusk. Safe to say, all of your friends had been in, and by the time it was 11 PM, you were all tipsy, and people started to dance. Some (ehm, ehm, Caroline) even on a table, which was hilarious to the rest of you.Â
The sadness came and went all evening, but you were determined not to let it ruin your night. So, every time you felt like it was creeping up on you again, you just told somebody and let them hug you until you were feeling better.Â
Then, somebody came up with the idea to play Never Have I Ever, and since the tequila still burned in your veins, you agreed immediately. And so the game started. You were roaring like a pride of lions, each answer louder than the previous ones, but the most fun arose from telling each other funny stories.Â
âOk, so this one time I was blowing off my boyfriend, right? And you know how much I hate the taste of sperm, and he knows it as well, but this one time he really insisted on my swallowing, and so when he finally came, I squeaked and pointed somewhere behind him so that I could spit the cum to glass under the table, and when he turned around I showed him my mouth, void of any liquid, and he looked super proud,â your friend Naila laughed as she told the story to the question: never have I ever swallowed cum.Â
The night was flowing smoothly, and soon, you saw that it was getting somehow lighter outside. And, sure enough, when you looked out of the window, you saw that the sunrise was coming in mere minutes.Â
âGuys, guys! The sunrise is here. Letâs go to the roof to enjoy it,â you yelled even though half of the people were already fast asleep. The few of you who were still barely alive, which was around 5 of you, staggered towards the door and crawled up the stairs to the highest levels, and when you opened the last door, you had New York underneath you.Â
You were wasted and exhausted, but the sight poured new life into you as you watched the early orange rays shine on one building at a time, waking up the city that never slept. It was magical, and it took your breath away. You felt your worries melting away as you saw a new day coming, and you thought it was a new day with many possibilities and hopes for you. You had nothing to lose, and Steve proved to you that he would, indeed, take care of you if need be. All would be if you just played your part and learned enough about Steve to be able to escape his wrath.Â
The exhaustion then hit your body just as the ray hit your face, and you waved at the drunk group watching the sunrise, each of them in their own realm of thoughts, and soon enough, you sauntered back to your room, where you fell asleep just like the rest of the bachelorette party.Â
A piercing tone woke you up with a start, and, for a second, you didnât even know where you were, what time it was, or even what fucking century it was. The throbbing in your head prevented your brain from functioning properly, and so you rummaged through the pile of clothes next to your bed, fishing for what was obviously your phone. Gosh, how you hated the ringtone, and you reminded yourself to just mute your phone altogether because then nothing like this could happen again.Â
You picked up without so much as looking at the screen and just sneered a harsh what into the speaker.Â
âWell, good morning to you too, honey,â you heard Steveâs smug voice and rolled your eyes so hard the pain in your head increased. âIs this the way to greet your future husband? I donât fucking think so,â he continued, and a considerable part of you contemplated just hanging up on him and his annoyingly sexy voice.Â
âSteve, I have no fucking idea what time it is, but itâs definitely not time for you to call me and want me to be nice. Give me a few good hours of sleep, and then we can talk, ok?â You hoped this would do it, but from the silence on the other side, you assumed he wouldnât let be just yet.Â
âWhat happened? Did your bachelorette party get a little out of hand, and you went to sleep only after sunrise?âÂ
You gasped, shocked how he knew any of it, and for the first time, the fog in front of your brain lifted a little bit. You checked the time, and seeing it was only 9 AM, you assumed that asshole woke you up on purpose if he knew so much about your nightly activities.Â
âHow the fuck-â
âLanguage!â He yelled suddenly, and you flinched at the intensity of his voice. âI know everything, and I told you I would have somebody keeping an eye on you at all times. Youâre only lucky the guy sleeping next to you is gay, youâd be in so much trouble otherwise, honey,â Steve spat, and the only sound you could muster was a long huff, as you regretted ever being born.Â
âWhat do you want, Steve? If you know so much, you must know that Iâm beat and all I wanna do is sleep, with a guy in my bed or without him. So, if you have something to tell me, please do, otherwise, have a good day, and Iâll catch up with you later.â
âWeâre gonna have so much fun together, you and I, Y/N. Iâm calling because I wanted to let you know that your room is prepared and ready for you and that your bodyguard will pick you up at exactly 8 PM, so donât be late. Clint will also help you carry all things you need. Iâll send you his number so that you can be in touch with him. Oh, and honey? Take some aspirin and go to sleep, you sound like you need it,â even through the phone, you could hear him smirk as he hung up and let you on your own once again. Thank God.
âWho was it?â Aidan asked sleepily from the other side of the bed, and you just grumbled some response, not really sure if he understood what you meant, but when he hummed and patted your outstretched hand, you took it as yes, I understand you mean your future husband Steve Rogers, nice talk.Â
The phone signalled you received a text, and when you looked at it, it was your bodyguardâs phone number and a directive, telling you to go to sleep already, because the dark circles under your eyes didnât suit you.Â
Oh, how you wanted to kill this man already. He got on your nerves more easily than anybody ever before, and for a brief moment, you wondered why he affected you so. You didnât even know him, and you shouldnât let him tossing you back and forth, but here you were, pissed because you could just imagine how proud he was of himself that he woke you up and told you what to do so many times in such a short call.Â
Sighing, you got up from the bed and went to check the window to see if you could spot the nosy bodyguard ratting on you to Steve. You needed to have a word with him because he just couldnât go running to Steve every time you blinked.Â
Looking around the street, you tried to spot a strange vehicle, one that didnât fit into the street you grew to know so well. And, sure enough, there was a large SUV, much like the one you had driven with Steve before, and you noticed that the windows were tilted. Since your apartment was on the first floor, anybody from the street had a great view right into your flat, and because you passed out totally exhausted, you didnât have the time, nor did you remember to shut your blinds.Â
You huffed and shut them now, cursing Steve and his nosiness because he wasnât making your life any easier, and you werenât even married yet. The year in front of you would be annoying and difficult, but maybe it would make you feel alive again.Â
Shaking your head, you didnât let the memories flood your brain as you strode back to your back, plopped on it belly-first and fell straight asleep.
âAre you sure itâs everything?â Aidan looked around your now half-empty room, except for the furniture that you knew you wouldnât need. Steve promised to give you a furnished room, and you took his word for it, so you just took the essentials, like your clothes and sentimental stuff. Marie Condo would have been proud because you still managed to get rid of a few things that didnât spark joy!
âYeah, and even if I left something here, I could still come, you know? Itâs not like Iâm never seeing you or this place again. Iâll still be like a 30-minute ride away,â you smiled soothingly at him, but he just shook his head, obviously fighting all the emotions swirling in his heart.Â
âAlright, alright. No crying. Iâll call you guys when Iâm all settled, and Steve actually lets me be by myself, and Iâll show you the room, ok?â
Both Aiden and Caroline nodded speechlessly and then pulled you in a group hug.Â
âYou sure you wanna do it? We can still make it seem like we kidnapped you and take you somewhere to Mexico, or Argentina, or wherever he wouldnât find you,â Caroline whispered, and you laughed through the tears fighting their way out of your eyes.Â
âIâll be fine, youâll see. We will all have so much fun, and before we know it, the year is over, and Iâm back here with you guys, having lived a little,â you smirked, and they nodded reassuringly, not really sure if it really was the best way to live a life, but they didnât want to push you again. Your heart was set, and they both knew there was nothing they could do now. Except, of course, really kidnapping you.Â
âMiss Y/L/N, we should go. The boss said we should be there at 9 PM at the latest, and I would prefer if we could be a little early,â Clint said professionally, but you could see that he was afraid of what would Steve do had you arrived late. You didnât want to start this weird-ass journey by pissing your future husband or making him hurt his employees (you didnât know whether he would actually do that, but just to be on the safe side, since he did cut off a guyâs finger a mere few days ago).Â
You nodded and stepped from your best friends, looking at them and smiling brightly. You didnât want any teary goodbyes, so you just showed them thumbs up and followed Clint out of the door. You knew there would be some tears when you left but didnât think they would come as early as on the first step from your apartment.Â
Fortunately, there werenât that many steps to go before you were out of the building and rushed into the SUV by Clint. It was dark already, but you didnât want him to see you cry, so you swiftly pulled out your sunglasses and put them on, not saying a word to Clint as he started the car and pulled it into New Yorkâs night traffic. The lights around you were almost blinding, and for a moment, you were glad you had the glasses on, but then another wave of regret and sadness hit you, and you had a hard time keeping in the sobs. Scratching your arms, you stared out of the window and took a few calming breaths, telling yourself to get a grip because you were about to enter the lionâs den, and you couldnât show them any emotions.Â
You knew Clint knew what was going on, but he was gentleman enough not to comment on it. Still, you needed to make sure he understood this little episode was just between the two of you.Â
âCan I ask you something, Clint?â You said suddenly and saw his eyes flickering between the road and the mirror, meeting your eyes for a moment.Â
âOf course, Miss Y/L/N. However, I should warn you, I am not allowed to give you certain information,â he said formally, and you nodded knowingly.Â
âYeah, right. If I asked you to keep a little secret from your boss, would you keep it?â You asked and nibbled on your lower lip anxiously.Â
He seemed to have thought for a second before he nodded his head in a manner telling you that there were things Steve didnât need to know. His eyes met yours again before he spoke up.Â
âIâm now your bodyguard, and if I think the information kept from the boss is in your best interest, then I wonât tell him anything. For example, you smiled all the way to the apartment, no tears and no sunglasses. Though, I think you should powder your nose and dry your face,â he smirked, and you laughed a little, nodding gratefully and doing exactly as he said.Â
The car stopped exactly as you put all the supplies back into your purse, and you had a feeling Clint took a longer route to Steveâs house just to give your face the time to dry up and calm down. Checking the time, you saw it was 10 minutes before 9 and saw the relief on Clintâs face when he realized the same thing.Â
âAlright, I will take you to the boss and then will get the boys to help with your things. We wonât go through anything, but if you need our help when youâre unpacking, all you have to do is text me,â Clint said, walking you to the door.Â
The man you met on your first night there was standing as a sculpture at the exact same spot, and you wondered if he ever moved from that hallway. He did move towards you, gesturing to your purse, but Clintâs hand stopped him mid-motion.Â
âSheâs clean. Iâve been with her the whole time,â he said sternly and with authority, and when he saw the first man taking a breath to protest, Clint just gave him a chilling frown, and the man stepped down, hung his head in defeat and let you through.Â
âItâs not a problem, Clint; I could have shown him the purse, you know?â You almost whispered as you walked through the empty rooms and hallways with Clint by your side.Â
âThey need to learn to respect you, Miss. You are, after all, marrying the boss very soon, and they need to understand that you are not a threat,â he gave you a curt nod, and you blushed a little. You didnât know what it was, but the way Clint spoke to you with so much trust and respect already made you feel much better. You knew it would be an issue, so having somebody on your side was a huge relief already.Â
âThank you, Clint, I really-âÂ
âWell, happy you two are best buddies already! Are you gonna braid each otherâs hair and do each otherâs nails soon too?â A voice snapped you back to reality, a voice you already knew too well. Steve was leaning against a door, his face stoic despite the mocking tone of his voice. Clint obviously tensed next to you, mumbled some apology and scurried out of the room, leaving you with Steve.Â
You just looked at him and crossed your arms on your chest.Â
âDo you need to be like this?â You asked incredulously, not really understanding why he had to be such an ass when all you did was having some sort of conversation with one of his loyal men.Â
âLike what, honey? You seem to forget who I am and what I can do to you and your fucking life,â he sneered when he finally pulled away from the door and marched right in front of you.Â
Your arms fell from your chest as you stared at him, trying to figure him out. Which, considering he was a prolific mobster, wasnât the easiest task at hand. But you tried nevertheless and poked to see where was all this coming from. He obviously needed to be in control of every situation, always the centre of attention, and, you realized, it was probably this that pissed him off. You walked in, not really paying attention to him standing by the door but carelessly talking to somebody else. But his attitude was another thing entirely.Â
âWhat do you want me to say, Steve? That Iâm sorry I talked to somebody else and that it wonât happen again? You know it probably will, especially since you assigned Clint with the task of taking care of me and making sure I survive this year with you, which is really all he had done in the 40 minutes I have known him,â you reasoned, trying to sound confident but not pushy. You needed to show him that he couldnât just toss you around like he might have thought. You didnât expect him changing his attitude altogether for you, but you, at least, hoped he would go easy on you.Â
He was seething but also thinking; you could see his mind going in overdrive to come up with something snarky and mean. But you were quicker than him, once again.Â
âWill you be so kind and show me to my room? I would like to get settled in before we start talking about the wedding.â
âThere will be no talk of a wedding. All you have to take care of is go tomorrow and pick your fucking dress. Everything else is being dealt with. I wonât need you tonight, so you can go and be by yourself till tomorrow,â he snapped and walked away without saying another word.Â
Great, now you felt like you were grounded, and all you did was talking with somebody nice to you. You shook your head disapprovingly and headed in a direction you thought might have been your room, but after taking a few turns, you werenât even sure you were in New York anymore.Â
âHey, what the fuck are you doing here?â You heard from behind you, and before you knew what was happening, somebody pushed you forcibly against the nearest wall, pressing their elbow into your neck. You coughed, surprised, clawing at the manâs forearms and trying to let him loosen the press because it was getting harder and harder to breathe.Â
âI said, what the fuck are you doing here?â He yelled into your face, and you tried to tell him, but your voice wouldnât come out. So, you just stared at him, tears filling your eyes before you heard a loud hey from somewhere behind you two and saw a man with long brown hair running towards you.Â
âSarge, this woman was roaming around here. I think she is a spy,â the man still holding you said to the newly arrived guy, and all you could do was shake your head and tried to make yourself look as non-threatening as possible. Which wasnât difficult considering you were in no position to be able to even defend yourself had the man decided to crush your trachea.Â
âFucking idiot! Thatâs the bossâ bride! Let her go, you dickhead,â the man, sarge, growled, and you felt the pressure leaving your body. Which was all it took for you to collapse on the floor and start coughing uncontrollably, gripping your neck in your hands to protect it from any further disturbance.Â
âI-I, I didnât know, Sarge! Donât tell him. I thought she was some fucking spy. What the hell was she even doing here all alone, huh? Itâs not my fucking fault she came sniffing around stuff that is none of her business,â the man tried to defend himself, but from the murderous gaze he received from the sergeant, he wasnât very successful.Â
âAre you ok, Miss? Did he break anything? Is your head spinning? Are you feeling nauseous? Any of this?â He crouched down to your level and extended an arm to you, and you flinched instinctively, not feeling too sure who was your friend here and who wasnât. So, to play it safe, nobody was your friend, and youâd be scared of them all, forever. Easy business.Â
The man saw your reaction and frowned even more but was persistent when he removed your hands from your neck to see an already-forming bruise alongside your throat.Â
âYou need to talk to me, Y/N. Are you hurting anywhere?âÂ
You coughed and grimaced because, yes, in fact, you did hurt and that all over the fucking neck and even your head. Which, given the man almost crushed your fucking throat with his elbow, wasnât that surprising.Â
âIâll be fine. And I wasnât sniffing around; I was just looking for my room. I thought it might be somewhere here, and I would have asked if I saw anyone. But this place is like a fucking maze, and I was all alone,â you screeched, and the sergeant nodded and helped you to stand up. He was pulling out what looked like a phone, but you stopped him.Â
âDonât call him, please. Iâm fine. I just need to get to the room, so I can put some cold water on it, have a drink and go to sleep. Please,â you accentuated and saw the man weighing his options before he put the phone back to his pocket and nodded for you to follow him.Â
âI will tell him, just so you know. Steve needs to know about this, and we need to make sure you are introduced to the whole house the first thing in the morning so that this doesnât happen again. But he needs to know. I will give you a few minutes to take it all in before I do call him, though,â he said with a resolution in his voice, and while you wanted to protest, you saw that it would have been to no avail. So, not saying another word, you let yourself in what was supposed to be your room and took it all in.Â
The walls were this very soft grey, which you actually preferred to the cold white you saw a lot all over the house. There was a king-sized bed against the main wall, framed with two bed-side tables and two matching white and gold lamps. There were many pillows on the bed and a plaid, grey and blue, throw as well, making it all feel very homey. You could see a large closet, where you could have easily fit ten times the amount of clothes you owned. The only other thing in the room was a table with a chair and some drawers, where you could picture yourself working and writing.Â
However, when you turned around, you saw something that caught your attention. An easel with a little table on wheels, on top of which was a palette where you could see yourself mixing colors left and right. You squealed, but the sound reminded you that you have just been assaulted and that you could admire the room later.Â
You took your time in the bathroom, inspecting your neck and hissing here and there when you touched it carefully. You knew the sarge was outside your door, probably counting in his head before he called Steve, and you were actually pretty surprised he wasnât marching in already. Just when you thought of it, the door to your room flew open, and you heard Steve and the man talking (well, actually, more like yelling at each other).
âWhere the fuck is she? Iâm going to kill Drax. I swear to fucking God, man. How is it even possible that he does shit like this? They were all supposed to be briefed, for fuckâs sake. Imma have Samâs ass as well for this. Fuck!â He yelled and kicked into something, which made you frowned, and you rushed out of the bathroom.Â
Steve spun around and almost ran towards you, cradling your face in his hands carefully and lifting your head so that he could have a clear view of the injuries. He was swearing under his breath, but you couldnât help it and stare at him, wide-eyed. He was actually careful with you, sweet even as he took it all in, and when he was sure you wouldnât die right there, he took a step back from you.Â
âAre you ok?â He asked after a moment, and all you could was just nod and stand there awkwardly, scratching your arms behind your back.Â
âWill you be able to find your room easier next time?âÂ
âNo, we took too many turns. But I wonât leave this room till morning anyway, and I will learn to stay out of the way very quickly, I promise,â you rushed to say, not really wanting to meet any of his crew alone again.Â
âYou canât be scared walking around here, honey. I will show you around right now, and I have already called an emergency meeting, and I want you there. This can never happen again,â he said gravely, and you understood this was probably his way of apologizing for something that wasnât really all his fault. Well, he didnât have to storm off and leave you there, nor did he have to scare Clint away, who was ready to show you to your room in the first place.Â
âIs it necessary, Steve? If Iâm quite honest, I donât feel too comfortable leaving the room right now,â you quipped, but Steve wasnât listening anymore. He just grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the door. Weirdly, you felt a little better having the skin-on-skin contact with him because, at least now, nobody would be stupid enough to attack you.Â
You tried to remember the way and took in the details that would make you not lose your trail again, such as the red vase on one of the tables in the corner that looked just like the corner two minutes ago, but the vase was something you could remember, so you took a mental note of that and other little things that would serve for your safety, obviously. Because when Steve told you people would want you dead, you sort of didnât expect those people would be in the house with you.Â
You walked through the spacious kitchen and the adjacent dining room to find yourself in what looked like a meeting room, with around 20 men gathered and scattered all over the room.Â
When Steve finally stopped, he let go of your hand, but he instinctively reached for you and pulled you against his side. You looked at him in slight disbelief again but didnât say anything as he stared in front of himself till the room was as quiet as a freaking church during a sermon.Â
âLet me make this very quick: however lays as much as a fucking finger on Y/N here, I will kill you, and I wonât give a fuck who you are. You were briefed that Iâm getting married to the woman I want, and because somebody wasnât paying attention to the fucking briefing, evidently, my fiancĂŠ is now sporting a black neck, which she will have to cover for our wedding. Drax, you and I will speak tomorrow, I was ready to kill you, but Iâm a reasonable man, so I will sleep and think of your punishment then. Now, any questions?â He asked threateningly, and you knew even if somebody did have a question, nobody would dare to ask it now.Â
And just as you predicted, the room was as quiet as before, and Steve waved his hand so that everybody was dismissed and they could breathe again. Just not in his presence.Â
âSam, you stay here,â Steve added when he saw one of his closest men leaving the room as well.Â
âI will deal with him, Steve. I donât know how that could have happened, but it wonât ever again, I promise. If it does, you can have my head, man,â the bulky man said and smiled warmly at you.Â
âBy the way, hi, Iâm Sam. Iâm like the muscles here, you know? So, if you need to pick something up, Iâm your guy,â he said with a wink, and you chuckled but took his hand to shake it.Â
âNice to meet you, Sam, and I will remember that, thank you.âÂ
âAlright, now, we have all the pleasantries behind us, you can go back to your room and go to sleep. And Y/N, if anybody as much as looks at you the wrong way, you tell me, ok? This marriage might not be a genuine one, but none of these assholes knows that or should care about that. They should protect you just like they protect me, and I donât care what they say. I canât have my fucking wife scared to walk these halls,â he was still frowning as he was saying all this to you, but you could see he was much more relaxed than when all the men were in the room. These two, the sergeant whose name you still didnât know, and Sam, were obviously close to Steve because despite the winks Sam gave to you, Steve didnât make a scene, nor did he give you the pointed looks when others were around. Still, you were on thin ice, and there was too much drama for one day for you to try and challenge him in any way.Â
âAy ay, Captain,â you chuckled, and the corner of Steveâs mouth actually moved a little, so you took that as a good sign.Â
âAlright, I will try and get back to my room and call it a day because tomorrow is an important day! So, nice to meet you, gentlemen, and I will see you soon, I guess,â you waved at them awkwardly, and Sam waved back enthusiastically as you left the men to themselves.Â
âShe is actually quite nice,â Sam summarized, and winked at Bucky, who just rolled his eyes at him in annoyance, having just enough of Samâs antics for one day.Â
âYeah, yeah, she actually is, when sheâs not talking back and challenging every fucking thing I say,â Steve complained, and it was a turn for both men to roll their eyes at their best friend.Â
âOh yeah, because you love when theyâre meek and quiet, we forgot. Câmon, man, somebody fucking choked her today, and she was still standing here with her head held high, keeping it together like a fucking pro. I say she is perfect for you,â Sam said defensively when he saw the murderous stare from his friend/boss.Â
Good thing Sam didnât see you in your room because as soon as you closed the door behind yourself, the tears just streamed down your face, and small sobs left your lips. You were glad the day was over and dreaded what the next day would bring.Â

You slip the kerchief up over your nose, masking your identity to the village. Your father is a powerful nobleman, but widely despised by the public due to his controversial politics. Thus, youâre a prime target for kidnappings or ransom deals, which is why each time you sneak out, you must cover yourself in order to keep safe.
Anna steps up behind you and drapes the heavy winterâs cloak over your shoulders, pulling the hood up over your tightly braided hair.
âMilady, I know you will not heed my advice, but I shall say it nonetheless. Going into the village is reckless and you put yourself at great risk. I implore that you take a guardsman with you for protection in case something happens.â
The corners of your eyes scrunch up as you offer your lady in waiting a smile.
âAnna, you know I love you dearly, but I insist that you worry too much. I shall be fine, and you forget that Iâm trained in knife-wielding.â You pull up your dress enough to show your ankle, where a small blade sits sheathed in a leather case. âI never leave the castle without it. I promise, I will be alright.â
âStill so stubborn, just like when you were as a girl.â She shakes her head with a soft chuckle.
Your arms wrap around her in an embrace and she gives you a kiss on the cheek before pulling away. You nod before you sneak down the corridors of the palace, making your way down to the stables.
Per your request to your trusted groom, your horse sports his inconspicuous village tack as he happily munches on fodder in his stall. You mount and ride off towards the village before anyone can catch sight of you or attempt to foil your plans.Â
The sun is out today, a rarity for this time of year. It reflects brightly off yesterdayâs freshly fallen snow and your eyes squint as you guide your horse down the path.
He knickers softly when you reach the open gates, slowing his gait to a slow jog as you make your way through the seas of villagers in the marketplace. A vacant post presents itself just inside the gates and you dismount, tying him up and pulling the apple from your pocket. Heâs appreciative of this gesture, quickly taking a large bite from the fruit.
You smile, giving him a few neck scratches before heading off down the cobblestone street. An array of farm animals run amuck, usually followed by their owners or the merchants trying to fetch them. The pungent stench of both human and animal waste clouds the air surrounding the market, only reprieved by the occasional overpowering scent of iron forging.Â
With your cloak, itâs quite difficult to see out of the corners of your eyes. Usually, it doesnât present issues, but todayâs marketplace is much more crowded than usual...
Youâre suddenly knocked by the rear end of a horse, causing you to fall backwards. A sharp gasp leaves your lips as you tumble towards the cobblestone, but a large, strong hand grips your wrist and saves you from colliding with the ground.
His hands are dirtied, but you donât mind at all, simply grateful for his heroic act. He pulls you up and your hood falls down, which causes a panic to flare within you. You scramble to pull it up immediately, clearing your throat before looking up at your savior, who shows clear recognition in his eyes. Oh gods, he knows.
âThank you very much, kind sir.â Your eyes roam over his face, his insanely handsome face. You can feel your cheeks begin to warm.
He nods with a small smile, cheeks reddening a bit. ââs no problem at all, miss. Sorry âbout the horse knockinâ ya, he really donât like his hooves beinâ done.â
âYes, clearly so.â You laugh softly, biting your lip. As you look around, you can see that more than a few sets of eyes have fallen to you, and anxiety begins to grip you.
âCâmere milady, Iâll take ya in my workshop âtill things cool down.â He whispers, taking your hand.
Youâre grateful for his kindness and you quickly follow him inside. He tells his apprentice to take over duties while he stays in here with you. The two of you sit on stools by the crackling fireplace.
âYer more than welcome to, um, take yer coverinâ off. No oneâs gonâ see ye in here. I understand if ye donât want to, just thought Iâd offer since that thing donât look all too comfortable.â
You really shouldnât...
You flip your hood down and pull down the covering, exposing your entire face to the kind stranger. You offer him a smile.
âThank you, again. Iâm greatly in your debt, mister...?â
âClyde.â He fills in the gap. âAnd ya donât owe me anythinâ, milady. Jusâ doinâ ma job as a citizen.â
A rush of bravery comes over you and you stand, walking over to stand in front of him. Your eyes dart to the floor before looking back up at him, chewing your lip before stepping up in between his naturally spread legs.
âAre you absolutely sure thereâs nothing I can do to thank you, Clyde?â
Clyde swallows harshly, jaw clenching as you lean in a bit. His eyes dart between your gaze and your lips. Instinctively, he leans in too.
âY-Ya really donât...â
His lips suddenly crash against yours, hand reaching out for your hip as he stands up. He towers over you, lips dancing with yours.Â
Youâre surprised at his sudden boldness, but youâre certainly not complaining, matching his enthusiasm. His large hands come to cradle your cheeks, but he quickly pulls away, cringing.
âOh ma...âm sorry, I forgot I had dirt on âem...here, lemme get a--â
You pull him back down and effectively interrupt his offer. He smiles against your lips, licking into your mouth just as he had before. The two of you kiss and kiss, hands cautiously exploring each otherâs bodies until youâre pulled apart by Clydeâs apprentice.
He blushes and the tips of his ears are bright red, biting his lip after pulling away. You smile, keeping your hands on his chest.
âThank you, Clyde.â

I wanna hear your take on Benlie and/or Benkai. You donât have to ship them, just say a few things you could have done to make them smoother and healthier, friendship or romance. You could even have both if you have an idea on a better, cleaner break up story.
Ok, so Iâm a Benlie person, 100%, and while I donât ship Ben and Kai, I definitely think they deserved to be handled better. So I have rewritten how those relationships, along with a few others of Benâs love life, have gone, and Iâll share it here. Warning, this does get a bit long, and does have some violence at a certain point, but I hope you enjoy my take on it!
So the start of Ben and Julieâs relationship in Alien Force is mostly the same, though I did adjust it that they somewhat knew each other before hand, having seen each other in school, especially since Benâs soccer practice took place at the same time and same kind of area as the girlâs tennis practice. Ben asks her out, Ship appears and becomes her pet, Julie starts understanding the alien better, sees Ben have 14 moth children, the basic stuff from canon. However, my major changes start during season 3 of Alien Force, the part of the series that took quite the nose dive in terms of character arcs. I still have it that Ben and Julie start to have issues and argue, but in believable ways, and they still clearly love each other. The issues arise when Ben does start to get cocky a little, due to all the praise heâs getting from saving the galaxy from the High-Breed, and his accomplishment surrounding that are huge, since he hasnât won something like that before. Again, doesnât help that half the galaxy keeps praising him and treating him like a God, but Ben does still be a hero, and even starts to get anxieties since now heâs starting to deal with bigger issues, more people demanding for him to help their planets around the galaxy, and Ben wants to be that hero for them...but there is only so much he can do. He does love the admiration from everyone, feeling special and all that, but he does start to make him feel different, in and odd way...Heâs struggle to connect with his human grounds now, due to constantly turning into aliens and spending time out in space, his relationship with earth just isnât the same anymore. And even them, aliens around him treat him as something else too, like heâs not human or an alien, heâs something else, and not knowing what makes him nervous. To mask all of these fears, he uses his over-confident nature like a mask, and it does get pretty bad for a month or two until Gwen, Julie and Kevin make him see reason. Meanwhile, Julie is struggling in her own right after the High-Breed war. She was happy to have fought in it to protect her home and people, but after seeing a proper glimpse of the alien worlds outside of earth...she will admit that scares her. She didnât go off world like when Kevin, Gwen and Ben did, mostly waiting for them on earth and did missions there with them, even lending them Ship when they needed it. While she didnât judge Ben and was willing to live with idea of aliens after their first date, like adopting Ship, she still have a lot to process about there being alien life. Itâs much harder on her than it was for Ben, because he learnt about it when he was young, his entire family knew about it and could support him through it, and even the Omnitrix provided better understandings for him. Julie...she didnât have any of that. It was just her dad, Ship and her, and while Ship was a good start, he was still just one tiny piece of the outside world around her. She knew sheâd have to accept it over time, now that she knew the truth, and especially when earth starts learning that truth too, but at times it felt like she wasnât allowed to process. She doesnât blame Ben for it, as heâs so use to it all by now, but there have been many moments where he seems to forget she is very early to this whole alien concept compared to him. She was afraid she couldnât catch up, and even has moments where she didnât want to take a step forward, afraid of what she might find. So she started joining less and less missions with Ben, Gwen and Kevin, and while she still hanged out with them, she tried not to get involved with their alien business. She will admit, maybe a part of her wished she didnât know about alien life at times, to have a life back when things seemed more simple.
So these deep feelings from both Ben and Julie spark arguments, because both are unsure with themselves, thus unsure in relationships with others, especially each other, with Julie thinking she couldnât keep up with Ben, and Ben thinking he couldnât slow down for her. And it all eventually led to a point where things had to stop... And unlike Omniverseâs god awful handle of the break up, I instead had it like this. Julie is the one who starts the conversation, having called Ben over to her. Sheâs honest with him, saying that itâs just not working out, and that they should find different people that work for them. Ben does beg a little at first, saying heâll try better, but Julie knows that right now they canât be a happy couple and need space, and Ben eventually agrees, but it still hurts. It hurts more when Gwen and Kevin leave too, and Julie also goes on a tennis tournament in France, so Ben has to deal with the loneliness he feels for a while, even when Rook joins his side. Meanwhile, Julie meets Herve in France, who was taking photographs for sport magazines. The two talk and eventually hit it off, Julie somewhat clinging a little as Herve is very much the down to earth and normal human guy she thought she wanted, someone who wasnât related to any alien business. She does miss Ben, a part of her not letting go, and while the two agreed to remain friends, they did drift a little over time. They would still voice chat, send some text and Ben would check up on her tournaments when he could, but both of their lives got rather busy and they drifted away for a couple of months, though still dearly missing each other. Ben takes his time to heal, still dealing with all the other problems heâs facing, especially the whole âAm I human, am I alien, am I something else?â and âHow much of a hero am I without the watch?â. His friendship with Rook grows pretty well, and he settles somethings with Gwen and Kevin since they moved to university. So most relationships of his are going well, expect for romantic relationships... He struggles to settle and commit to most of them, and mostly dates around for a bit, spending some time with people like Looma, Rook Shar, even Attea on one date. He does eventually settle with Ester for a bit, and the two seem like a good match. Both fun loving, eager for adventure, and enjoy each otherâs company. And Ben did try and make it work, he really did, Ester was a great girl and he wanted the best for her but...again, it was hard for them to keep up with each other. Ester is a girl full of energy, and very much wants to do something 24/7, and while she doesnât fault Ben, she will admit she does get lonely when he spends so much time off on missions she canât join in, and the two break it off when Ben couldnât be what she needed. But they are still close friends and hang out pretty often. Again, alone in his love life, Ben felt hopeless in it. Was he cursed to be single for the rest of his life? So when Kai came back into his life, his first proper crush he can remember, he will admit that maybe he jumped into things too quickly. There was no Kenny time traveling nonsense in this version, no fate tying to together, rather just two young teens jumping into a relationship neither ended up wanting. But they stuck with it for a while because they felt like they had to, despite the arguments and bickering. Both were scared to be alone, as Ben couldnât lose another girlfriend, and Kai realized just how lonely her work made her feel. They didnât hate each other, they just werenât in love. It didnât help that, since Julie returned to Bellwood with Herve, Ben felt jealous at Herve. Which annoyed him, because Herve was actually a really nice person, and gave Julie a lot of love. Really, it was more Ben angry at himself that he couldnât provide the things Julie needed...And while Julie and Ben did talk and hang out from time to time, Ben was distance often, even when Julie reached out to him. It was just...seeing her so happy, living a normal life, Ben didnât want to taint that with his presence. It wasnât until one fateful day that things started to turn around, though the start was pretty bad. It was another day, another fight with Vilgax, who was rampaging through the streets, clashing with Plumbers, Ben and Rook. Julie and Herve had been nearby when it started, and the two decided to help get civilians to safety, splitting up at one point to cover more ground. Julie ran into Rook and Ben, who tried to usher Julie away, but unfortunately Vilgax noticed her, and saw Benâs panic of worry for Julie to run. It didnât take long for Vilgax to remember who this young teenage girl was, and decided to use her as hostage against Ben. Seeing his arch nemesis using someone he secretly still loved as hostage, not to mention he had a pretty bad week before hand, Ben just...kind of snapped. He didnât go easy on Vilgax for once, switching between multiple aliens rapidly to stomp Vilgax into the ground. (Side Note: I have the headcanon that, while Ben can do rapid transformation, if he does so many in a short amount of time, he does get a mild side affect of his emotions being amplified, due to his brain having tumbled around from the quick transformations.)  By the time the Plumbers and Rook arrived, the two city blocks had been trashed and Vilgax was burred into the road. Due to the side affect of multi rapid transformations, Ben was protectively holding onto Julie, who had passed out from some injures from Vilgax (Nothing major, but the stress of it did make her lose conscious). They managed to pry Julie away, while Ben was taken away to calm down, needing to give his body and mind for a rest. Julie was taken to a Plumber hospital, and she woke up fairly soon with mild injures that wouldnât be too much of a hassle to heal over the next few weeks. Many visited her, including Herve, her dad, Gwen and Kevin, along with Ship her stayed by her the entire time. It took a long while for Ben to show up, mostly because he was nervous and felt ashamed by how he acted, but Gwen gave him a good peep talk and convinced him to go.  It started off a little awkward, but simple, Ben checking how she was feeling, with her also making sure he was ok too. They catched up a bit, even laughing over some old memories, which eventually lead into a small discussion about their past relationship, both finally properly apologizing for how they acted, even clearly up a few things that were worried over, like Ben admitting that he had been avoiding Julie because he thought it was better for her, and not because he hated her or anything. Buttt, one thing lead to another and well...the two kissed in the heat of the moment, both going in for it, and for a few seconds it was bliss...until they both realized what they were doing, and understanding that one, Julie was still dating Herve, and second, Ben was still dating Kai. Flustered, Ben rushed out of there, with Julie panicking over what they did.
The two keep it a secret, not wanting people to know what happened between them, and when Julie got out of the hospital, they kind of awkwardly avoided each other, needing to think about things. They clearly still held feelings, but they were both dating other people and were scared to mess up with each other again. Cue them somehow almost always bumping into each other, like the gods themselves were trying to make them suffer, and their feelings becoming more and more obvious, but neither making a move of any kind. Ben confides in Kevin, Gwen and Rook, even admitting to his feelings and the kiss to them, and while they give him advice, they know itâs up to him and Julie to sort things out.
But Ben avoids it again, not ready and unsure in himself. He already messed up many relationships before hand, including with Julie, so what if it all went downhill again...And Julie questioned herself, she had been avoiding space and alien life for so long, thinking it would make her happy, but she starts to realize that no...itâs not making her happy, trying to deny something outside of her bubble just wasnât working anymore, especially with her feelings towards Ben. However, after some long thinking, Ben decides to at least do one thing. So he organizes a get together with Kai at a cafe, needing to talk to her. The two have a sit down and Ben explains that this relationship isnât working, and that they shouldnât keep trying to make something that isnât there to happen. Kai agrees, both feeling some stress loosen from their shoulders, and they still decide to be friends, feeling much more comfortable with a relationship like that, even sharing a nice hot chocolate together at the cafe. And so while Ben goes to deal with the other problem in his love life, Kai may or may not end up catching up with Ester in the process~ While Ben makes plans on what to do next, he and Rook are ended up being called over to a Plumber Prison base, to make plans to move Vilgax finally. Little did they know, Vilgax prepared for this. You see, a part of him already knew heâd be capture again, sent to this base to await movement, so the last time he was here, he built up some allies on the inside, and eventually the outside. He also knew Ben would show up, so he made a plan to make sure the Omnitrix wouldnât get in the way. After how Ben stomped him into the streets before, Vilgax was looking for some nasty revenge. Not really kill Ben...but something more traumatic. So when Ben and Rook show up, surprise surprise, Vilgax isnât in his cell. While Rook talks to some of the guards, Ben searches Vilgaxâs cell for clues, only for it to suddenly turn on, along with itâs defenses, including an electric shock that surprises Ben, and causes the watch to bug out, unable to be used. Rook check on Ben, but next thing anyone knows, alarms start blaring and almost all cells open, and prisoners start running while. Since Benâs watch is down, and many people here hate him, Rook wants to keep him safe and tries to escort off the base. But Ben being Ben, he wanted to help, and rushed off to try and help some injured guards here and there, with Rook following. However, some prisoners, who were secretly working under Vilgax, skillfully guide Rook and Ben away from each other, and eventually trap Ben in a lone room, but not by himself. There, Vilgax was waiting for him, and since Ben didnât have the watch to help, he was screwed. Vilgax knocked him around a few times, though being careful enough to not instantly kill Ben with his strength, before deciding finally to make the hero suffer. (Warning here for those who are squeamish) He does so but taking the tip of one of his claws, and dragging it down Benâs arms, damaging his nerves. He would have done more, if not for Rook, the guards and some Plumber bursting in and chasing him off, saving Ben before he could bleed out, but the boy did pass out and wouldnât wake up for a long while. People were, of course, scared...particularly Benâs friends and family, who visited him everyday, mostly Max and surprisingly Azmuth, who also fixed the watch to help in Benâs recovery. Gwen and Kevin ended up being the ones to inform Julie what happened, when she noticed Ben wasnât around, and hearing that Ben almost died...it scared Julie. She didnât want to lose him, of course, but also the idea that he could have died while they still had issues to fix...she didnât want it to end like that, for things to be so messy and unclear. So when Herve saw her look down and upset, and getting her to explain what happened to Ben, the two talked. Herve admits that for a while he knew Julie still had feelings for Ben, and could tell that things werenât so cut and dry between them, especially when he got to met Ben himself. He also admits that maybe Julie and Herve are, in a way, maybe a little too perfect for each other. Their relationship is stagnant at times, with not a lot of growth because never healthy challenges the other. So with no hard feelings whatsoever, Herve says that if Julie wants too, the two can break up but still remain friends, and Julie thanks him, agreeing too and even asking that she hopes he can still be her photographer. And for the next few weeks, Julie visits Ben with some of the others from time to time, hoping heâll be ok so they can talk... Eventually, Ben wakes up, Azmuth having been there when he did so, and helps to catch the young boy up on what happened. Ben notices that, while his arms have been healing finely enough, his nerves are a little slow in the process, having not fully recovered, shown by him unable to keep his arms and hands steady, constantly shaking when moving them. It scares him, even when Azmuth reassures him that theyâll heal thanks to the watch...Ben just canât help but feel like if they donât heal, then he may have to give up the hero business in the end, even if thatâs just his fears playing tricks on him. So during his recovery, people come visit him, making sure heâs ok. Until eventually, Julie shows up, wanting to make sure heâs ok, and knowing they had to talk. They couldnât keep putting it off, especially after something like this, and Ben finally agrees to stop running and to finally clear things out. They discuss a little more about their past relationship, about their insecurities during it, and where they go from here, both mentioning theyâve broken up with Herve and Kai. They talk some more, relaxing in each otherâs company, and admit to their feelings, both deep down knowing they want to give it another go. And since theyâve had time apart, learnt from new experiences, they decide that maybe they can try, taking it slow and see where it will go. And the two kiss, and for once in a very long time...it feels right. As said, they take things slow, and after everything that happened in the past few years, things actually go well for them. There are, of course, hiccups there and here, but theyâre matured enough to know how to talk things through, and solve problems together. Ben does start to recover more and leave the hospital, and while he nerves arenât fully healed by them, they will eventually. And while the two go one small dates during his healing, catching up and being blissfully happy with each other, they end up bumping into Kai and Ester, who appear to also be dating now. One thing led to another and the four end up going on double dates fairly often, having fun times together, Ben 100% supporting his two exs dating, seeing how happy they are. Julie, Ester and Kai even like to share cheesy stories of when Ben was their boyfriend, and he loves to play alone with it too.  And that, is my take on Ben and Julieâs relationship! đđ

Somebody Else (Tyrus One-Shot)
Summary:
"Cyrus turned to the door that had creaked open, knowing he should have felt reassured by the face that peeked through, looking at him with concern. Hell, 3 months ago he wouldâve immediately let loose all tension, walked over to him and sunk in his arms, forgetting everything that was tying him up in a ball of stress.
But this wasnât 3 months ago. This was now, and seeing that face, at that time, when he was questioning everything, he knew."
Loosely based on the song 'You're Somebody Else' by flora cash

Pressure.
Wasnât it supposed to be the feeling of weight, pressing down on your chest, suffocating you? Gripped around your heart like a black vice?
So then why did Cyrus feel instead that he was being pulled apart? Like he was a piece of elastic tied to two sticks being tugged and tugged and tugged, stretched thin in the middle? Like he was going to snap at any second, breaking and tearing his world apart?
Because that was what he thought, groaning loudly, as he leaned back against his chair, bending back, the harsh light of his study desk illuminating his scattered papers and almost-negatively charged laptop. His head felt like a supernova had decided to cram its way into the spaces between his skull and his brain, filling up his body in blinding pain. The room was dark, and Cyrus had somehow been lucky enough to get his own room, so there was no roommate to worry about.
He slumped forward, the vibrating of his phone drilling a bore in his mind right above his nose, ramming pain all the way in. He hadnât slept in what felt like aeons, and every fibre of his body wanted to pick himself up off the chair and collapse into bed. Alone. But he couldnât do that. Because there was drama club, and the magazine, and the newsletter and not to forget his coursework, and goddamn it there was the pressure again, tearing him up bit by bit by bit.
He could just send one textâŚ
No, it was too hard.
But he was just a building overâŚ.
But he was never around, never free. Neither was Cyrus, really. They rarely got to see each other, except for their regularly scheduled date nights twice a month where every time they met, the dates grew shorter and shorter.
So basically, he wasnât texting him because it wasnât working out.
So then what was the point of him being at that university when the whole point of him choosing it was to stay close to him?
Cyrus shook his head, ignoring the dull muscle ache in his neck. He couldnât think about that. His hand itched for the phone, half of him pulling him toward it with millions of tiny invisible hands, pushing to send just one text to the name that used to hold a million hearts after the contact name, but now was just a word. But the other half of him had cuffed his wrists to the table, keeping him locked there, knowing that if he sent that text, one thing would lead to another and everything would crumble around him, scattering like tiny pieces, mixing in with the dust that floated in the air during the day when the sunlight wafted in through the windows. But in the end, he didnât need to send the text.
Because the storm had been building the past 3 months, each raindrop, each bit of debris soaked up into a big black cloud. Every silent streak, every ignored call, every skipped date, every time they let each other go a bit more, all accumulated into a ball of lightning and thunder, tied up in an ugly knot in that same black cloud. A cloud that now stood at Cyrusâ door, with all the fury straining and fighting to get out.
And it was about to.
âCy?â
Fuck.
Cyrus turned to the door that had creaked open, knowing he should have felt reassured by the face that peeked through, looking at him with concern. Hell, 3 months ago he wouldâve immediately let loose all tension, walked over to him and sunk in his arms, forgetting everything that was tying him up in a ball of stress.
But this wasnât 3 months ago. This  was now, and seeing that face, at that time, when he was questioning everything, he knew.
Cyrus knew it was the end.
So he stifled a sigh and got up from his chair.
âHey Teej.â
TJ walked in, switching on the light of the room as he walked in. He stood to the side, opposite Cyrus, hands stuffed in his pockets as he balanced on the balls of his feet. The distance between them was so, so much. They never used to be like this, they never had this distance between them. But now here they were, on opposite sides, facing each other with no words to say to the person they loved so dearly.
Cyrus kept his gaze down, scratching through the skin on the inside of his thumb, already drawing blood, but he couldnât stop. He gnawed on his lips, his teeth hitting an open cut and he almost let out a hiss, but he was used to it. There was nothing else he could do, because TJ wasnât moving or saying anything, and he didnât know what to say or do, because they hadnât been alone in a room without other people for more than 6 weeks, and they had only seen each other on their date nights, in a cafĂŠ or a restaurant, surrounded by loud crowds as they shrank into silence within 10 minutes. Finally, he caved, asking the question clawing at the back of his mind.
âWhat are you doing here?â
TJ looked up, startled out of his own thoughts. Only then, Cyrus realised he had been muttering to himself all the while Cyrus was looking down. He had been pulling at his hoodie (another stupid basketball one) as he appeared to rehearse something in his mind. He coughed slightly, wiping his nose. âI, you didnât answer your phone. So I came to check on you.â
Cyrus huffed softly, picking up his phone, exhaling as he saw the 35 missed calls. âSorry I, I was busy,â he said quietly, setting down the phone on the scattered papers and books. He squeezed his eyes shut, knowing what was coming, because he had just added the last drop of rain to the thundercloud, and it was one drop too many. And now it was going to burst.
He heard a light scoff, and opened his eyes, looking at TJ, who was turning away. âYeah. Youâre always busy,â he said, words dripping from his mouth like poison from spikes.
Cyrus looked down, drawing a shaky breath. âI, Iâm sorry, I just have,â he muttered, nervously running his hand through his hair. âIâm sorry.â
He sat back down, sinking into the back of his chair, his headache not helping him focus or keep his vision up. He knew the matter wasnât over, but the small, naĂŻve part of him wished it was, wished TJ would sigh and wrap him up in a hug, tell him it was okay and that he had nothing to be sorry. But he knew better. He had everything to be sorry for, and he knew that TJ deserved to be mad, and he knew the exact fucking words that were going to leave his mouth in 5 seconds, the ones he didnât want to hear from TJ, but he knew he had to because he was all out of luck. He was all out of time, time that he had held in his hands like he was the owner, letting TJ believe him blindly. But he had to give it up. Because he needed to face the words.
âWe need to talk, Cyrus.â
There it was.
Cyrus gulped, pushing himself off the chair, walking over to the side of the room where TJ stood, but still keeping too much space between them. He kept his eyes down, the rugâs hues blinding and captivating him, taking him away, anywhere but where he was. The small kid still stuck inside him hoped that when he sat down, grabbing TJâs hand and pulling him down like at a sleepover, the rug would become their magic carpet, flying them away to a future where they made it, where college was a place where even though they were plagued by stress, they would find an anchor in each other. They would fly by graduation, smiling together as their parents cried over photographs. Theyâd dance through their futures, sailing down the aisle, ending up together, sitting together. Holding hands as their grandkids played in their backyard as the barbeque smoke wafted through the air. Together. That was what he wanted to fly to, holding TJâs hand, trapping his fears there. But that was a fantasy. And Cyrus had to wake up.
So he looked up, tears already brimming. And TJ was looking away, playing with his fingers. And Cyrus knew that he was itching to grab Cyrusâ hand, just like was itching to grab TJâs. But they couldnât do that, it would just make it harder.
They both just stood there, unsure of who should start. How does one pick up the sledgehammer and strike the first blow into a relationship?
It wasnât the first blow. It was the first of the last blows. The foundations were blown. Now just to tip it the right way.
TJ finally sucked in a deep breath. âCyrus, I,â he started, his voice choked with unsaid words and wasted tears. âWhen we,â he started again, looking up to hold back tears from falling, words wavering. âWhen you told me youâre going to the same college as me, I, I felt so happy. I remember, I, I, spun you around just crying of happiness,â he smiled sadly to himself, spinning his fingers, Cyrusâ memory pulling that visual to the forefront of his mind. âI thought, âThis is amazing! Iâll see Cy and weâll make it through college together,â and I just felt happy,â TJ laughed to himself, wiping away a stray tear. But his smile fell. âBut, even then you started to slip away. You just, you looked like you were pushing a smile on your face. And every time I saw you drop your smile when you thought I wasnât looking, it fucking killed me,â he said quietly, voice breaking like glass falling on the ground. TJ looked up, tears now flowing down his face like a polluted river, a barrage of water coming to drown Cyrus, choking him and dragging him along with the current. âAnd then,â he continued cruelly, shrugging. âAs soon as we got here, it seemed like you took everything you could to keep yourself busy, to keep me away.â
âThatâs not,â Cyrus tried to speak up, his voice small, but TJ ignored him, pushing ahead painfully.
âAnd it worked,â he sniffed, rubbing his red nose. âI got busy too, trying to fill the time you used to hold. But you never left my mind, and that fucking sucked. Because in my mind we were okay, and I still dreamed of walking down the fucking aisle with you,â TJ almost yelped. âBut out here,â he said forcefully, his words growing louder and louder. âWe barely even look at each other during our so-called dates! So tell me, if thatâs us being fucking okay Cyrus!â he broke into a yell, immediately pulling his voice back, leaning against the wall, heaving as if all the breath had been knocked out of him.
Cyrus pressed his hand to his mouth to stop the whimper that was leaving his lips. He looked down, tears filling up his vision, keeping him feeling like he was underwater, being dragged further down. âTJ, I,â he whimpered, unable to find words to tell him, to explain, to fight for them. But there was nothing.
âI love you Cyrus,â TJ said quietly, his voice heavy. âBut I canât do this. I, I canât keep doing this.â
That should have been the end, the final words, and they both would walk away and break down alone. But for some reason, this small part of Cyrus, the part that had been muscled down by pressure and guilt and stress, the part that led Cyrus to trust TJ the first day on those swings, to grab that shirt from the MintChip sale to go to him, the one that pushed him to look for TJ in Andiâs backyard that fateful party, wrestled its way out. And that part wanted to fight for TJ to stay, for them to stay together, to try and stop him from leaving.
âTJ, I,â he said, grabbing him by the arm, immediately letting go. God even grabbing each otherâs arms had become weird. âIâm sorry, just please donât leave, we, we can work this out! Iâm sorry Iâm so busy, but, but itâs not because I wanna stay away from you! I love you, I love you so fucking much, thatâs why I decided to come here instead, so I could stay with you. TJ, please we can work this out, just donât leave,â he said in one breath, tears pricking his eyes, some even rolling down as his voice grew higher and higher the more he felt the panic rise up, bubbling like an angry ocean.
But TJ just stopped, looking up slowly, eyes red and puffy. But his expression was cold and accusing, and Cyrus felt a shiver run down his spine. He had never looked at him like that before.
âWhat do you mean you chose to come here instead?â
Cyrus seized up, moving back. No no no not that question. Why did he have to ask that question? Why did he have to catch that? âW-What do you mean?â he said, letting out a short laugh.
âCyrus,â TJ said plainly, looking at him painfully. And Cyrus caved, letting a tear slip out as he looked down.
âI applied here at the last minute, when you said you were going after you got your early action,â he whispered, gulping the knot that had built up in his throat. âI actually got into Stanford like I wanted to, but I rejected it.â
âWhat?â TJ whispered, and Cyrus squeezed his eyes shut, his face scrunching up as he felt the sobs hiding behind the thinly veiled curtain of his control. âYou got into the place you wanted to, and just decided to say fuck it and apply last-minute here?â he asked, walking forward, up to Cyrus. âWhat, because I was here? What the fuck Cyrus? You told me you didnât get it anywhere so thatâs why you were applying here!â he said loudly, and Cyrus flinched, looking away.
âIf I told you why you wouldâve made me go to Stanford,â he said quietly, and TJ scoffed loudly.
âCyrus, Stanford was your dream! And you gave it up just because of me!â TJ said, pinching the bridge of his nose as he paced back and forth. âAnd worse than that, you lied to me!â
âIâm sorry, Iâm so so sorry,â Cyrus pleaded, walking up to TJ, reaching out to cup his cheeks as tears rolled down his face fast, faster than his heartâs racing beat. âI just wanted to be with you TJ, please understand. I, I love you and I couldnât, just leave,â he continued, as TJ pushed his hands away and he sniffed loudly, trying to wipe away the tears, his breath hitching more and more. He couldnât find any air to breathe, but he had to find it in himself to gain control, because TJ was there, angry with him, and he had to get him to not hate him. âI just wanted to be with you.â
âCyrus, that isnât like you!â TJ said, turning around, eyes red as tears brimmed in them. âYouâre the kind of person to know their dreams and then somehow make it happen. Thatâs who you are! Youâre set in your decisions!â TJ ran his fingers through his hair, looking away. âYou, youâre right here, and I donât even recognise you! Youâre somebody else!â
âIâm sorry,â Cyrus whimpered, leaning against his chair, chest heaving as sobs started to escape his lips, and he tried to hold them back, he really did. But the dam had broken, the last brick knocked out as the water poured, storming and flooding everything it touched. But Cyrus looked up and saw TJ leaning against the wall, tears streaming down his face as he breathed heavily. Both their dams had broken, and they used to be able to fix each other, to repair every crack impeccably. But now, they both had lost each otherâs blueprints.
Cyrus looked at TJ, who looked up to look at him, eyes shining in the white dorm light with the tears that stood till there. And all the fight that small part of him had left him, knowing that this was the end.
So, Cyrus crossed the room, each step feeling like walking on burning coals, the broken glass scattered across the floor. He walked up to TJ, the black cloud stopping its thunder and lightning, the theatrics and horror and fury over. All that was left was rain. Cold, cold rain. Pouring down in buckets, drenching the rubble of their relationship. Cyrus could almost feel the rain as he cupped TJâs tear-stained cheek. He could barely see over the teardrops hiding his eyes, but it didnât matter anymore. It was the rain, after all. Rain hid everything.
So Cyrus kissed TJ, pulling him to him, kissing him with all the emotion he had lost over the past 3 months. He tried to get TJ to feel what he wanted to say.
He had fucked up.
He loved him more than anything.
He was sorry.
He was sorry.
Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
Goodbye. And TJ kissed him back equally fiercely, trying to say the same things back, trying to make Cyrus realise that this was inevitable, that this wasnât just him, or just TJ, it was both of them. That he was sorry.
When they pulled away, cheeks wet and out of breath, they hugged each other, both too scared to let go, to strike the last blow. But eventually, they had to.
They pulled away, and Cyrus nodded, letting the tears fall down as TJ caressed his cheek one last time, walking out the door, closing it behind him with a soft lock.
And the dam broke again, and Cyrus collapsed to the ground, screaming as tears formed a river. And he screamed and screamed and screamed until there was no more air in his lungs and his voice cried for him to stop.
On the other side of campus, TJ did the same, and Marty pleaded at his door, trying to get him to open it. But he just screamed and cried, punching the wall every now and then until his knuckles were raw and it hurt to move them.
And the rain poured around the rubble, and Cyrus and TJ let themselves get drenched, not bothering for an umbrella as they let it pour around them. But with it was the feeling of a weight being lifted, and pressureâs stretch lessened ever so slightly.
Because this had been inevitable.
They would be okay. Not soon. Maybe they would look back every now and then, a pang of regret in their heart. And Cyrus would remember TJ in every hoodie he touched as he strolled through a store, and every time he would walk into a bakery and see a blueberry macadamia muffin. And TJ would remember Cyrus in every swingset he would pass, and every time someone offered him a chocolate chocolate chip muffin.
They would be okay. But for then, they would let the storm pour down on them.

đ+ echo đ+ Meredith and đfor whoever you want
Oh yea!! Thank you so much anon :DÂ
Iâm gonna put this under a cut, Iâll try not to ramble for a long time but Iâm not making promises xD
Echo~
This is WAY overdone Iâm sure but when heâs very irritated and violently angry, his eyes flash red. But heâs never violent outwardly, so itâs more of a warning to people who know him that heâs in danger.
Other random facts: He loves butterflies and moths. And heâs scared of dogs.
Also, kind of a history- Iâve only had him for a year or so (not sure exactly) but Iâve rewritten him lots of times. Heâs been a computer file, lost and glitching out, a ghost, invisible to the living around him, a patient in a psychiatric ward, daydreaming about someone who cares about himâŚ. Which is to say, Iâve given up on trying to put in one universe or one situation only. Heâs my main vent character. I throw him into whatever universe Iâm feeling and currently he hangs out with his imaginary friend, Loki. So⌠yeah.
Meredith~
Oh heck I could ramble about Meredith for hours but Iâll limit myself to three facts about her haha
Sheâs the youngest of her family and has three older sisters. Sheâs also kind of the black sheep, though her sister Jessie and her both kinda compete over that title..Â
She went through an intense vampire phase around the same time she was going through puberty. I kind of headcanon her as still having semi-sharp âfangsâ because she filed her canine teeth to sharpen them without her parents knowing, but Iâm not sure if Iâll keep that in the canon or not xD. But yeah, she went all goth around her teenage years of course.. though she was always kind of a weird dark child.
She usually has birdseed in her hoodie pockets. (Also, she really likes birds - in case I hadnât said that before.) She walks through parks a lot on her way to work or whatever so like, might as well feed her babies. :3
Mr. Evers~
I may have talked about him before but Iâm not sure, and I know I havenât talked about him here on this blog so. Be warned: heâs another angsty character.. his story is highly dramatic and highly tragic.. (I swear I do have happy characters, theyâre just underdeveloped because Iâm sad so itâs hard to imagine being happy? I donât know. Anyway.)
He exists in Victorian times. And heâs⌠basically a serial killer. He doesnât have a need to kill, though it is his response to greedy or otherwise horrible people. He also has a young daughter who travels with him, and considering the awful fate of his late fiancee, heâs wary of pretty much anyone who looks at her.
Why this is so reminiscent of Sweeney Todd? Well Mr. Evers is actually based off of a dream I had⌠and I had plenty of Sweeney Todd dreams around the same time but this one.. wasnât quite him? He was a murderer, he was dark, he was sad, but he wasnât quite Sweeney so I just made a whole new character. Heâs both father and mother to his daughter, and he misses his fiancee dearly.
For the most part him and his daughter Daisy live on the road, heâs sort of a travelling tailor. He designed a large carriage specifically for his tailoring business - it was a dream of his to travel. He finished it hastily when his fiancee was in need of escape, and they traveled together for a short few months - long enough for her to give birth - before she was murdered. Anyway they donât stay in one place very long, but they do stop for supplies sometimes, food or whatever, and sometimes he lets Daisy choose new fabrics to buy. Where he can set up shop he does, and theyâll stay in towns as long as they can without him meeting some awful person who he believes needs to die⌠but thatâs usually not longer than a couple weeks.
He has severe breathing problems and fractured ribs, but only his daughter really knows about it, and sheâs too young to understand how bad it is. (His fiancee knew too, of course.) This is from years of binding his chest too tightly⌠He guards his secret closely, because the wrong person finding out played a major part in his fianceeâs murder. But his health is ultimately failing because of it, and heâll just keep tying his bandages tighter and tighter, as punishment to himself more than anything at this point..
âŚ.AnywayâŚ.. Iâm sorry⌠I probably shouldâve talked about my cyborg character because theyâre adorable and sassy but oh well. xD
Thank you very much for the ask though anon! I love rambling about my OCs even if theyâre all so sad xD (I donât know why I chose Mr. Evers, he was probably the worst I couldâve rambled about⌠well, second worst, first is my OC Jane.)
Send me a đ to make me ramble about my OCs!
#I have like a whole outline of a story for mr. evers and yes it is full of tragedy and is awful and no I'll probably never write it but#I still like to think about him sometimes. my poor baby.#and yea there are some holes in that blurb up there but it was already getting to be a very long ramble so :/#the victorian era is a great place to set tragic stories to be honest#giraffe rambles#echo answers#inbox games#my ocs#echo#meredith#mr. evers#tw depression#tw injury#hopefully this is sufficiently tagged. as usual let me know if not!

Episode 2 | âGET ME OUT OF HERE â - Devon
okay so i filmed a video confessional earlier which is uploading where i basically talked about dealing with being a winner/the tomb and having an idol/potentially wanting to go to tribal pre-swap/deliberately choosing the puzzle/how much i love jake so that'll come at some point after this but just KNOW that came first. anyway just wanted to talk MORE because i have more thoughts. last round i was really conscious of needing to micro-manage my threat level and i think im putting in work to do that? im very concious that i cant play the same game as montenegro because im coming into it from a very different perspective/position. However, one thing I can do this season is transfer my prejury game, because i think it still works. What I need to do is to some extent take a backseat, where I'm not actively messaging people first, and keeping game talk kinda limited (but acknowledging it when people talk to me). Like I have the safety cushion of my idol, and my connection to jake/jordan, and to some extent dan and lovelis? like im not gonna be a target (touch wood) and hopefully if i am my men tm going to keep an eye out for me.... hopefully? it also means im not gonna be pushy about votes im gonna hear names and run with it (as long as its not jake/jordan, or lovelis tbh i get real good vibes from him). but yeah id really love the beauty tribe to go to tribal this round ive literally never spoken to a single one of them so i'd love one of that tribe that is a complete unknown quantity to go home DJDKLFSF. but yis so im feeling good taking a backseat but im gonna ejector seat myself forwards at some point, just got to figure out when to push the button
Okay so Bodhi left last night and that was really sad. We had nice conversations but i told him that if the rest of the tribe wanted him out i wasn't going to campaign for him. He ended up making his rounds but at the end of the day, no one felt strongly about keeping him. He speaks so well that it took me a night's rest to get my head straight. Also Trace got an alliance together of himself, myself, Scott and Isaac. Bitch i was SHOOK! I am so glad to be likable enough to be brought into someone else's core. So this kind of perfectly positioned myself and Scott between 2 alliances. I believe we're both more loyal to the one we formed before we found out we were going to tribal, but who knows. I did tell Autumn of the news because i figure if we were to lose again. Whichever of Isaac of Trace remains is going to feel on bottom and blow up that Scott and I were two-timing the DADS. Btw that is the dumbest alliance name I have ever been a part of but whatever. The rat pack has also formed and now him and I are in a good spot. I will say that i am nervous that MISS ALYSSA spoke the comparison into existence, but i really hope we don't continue to flop like Luzon did on Cagayan. But hey! If Denise can go to every tribal council in one season and win, maybe i can too. (PS i pissed myself with my score in winterbells but also F*CK WINTERBELLS, thats all, ty)Â
Honestly Iâm really regretting not participating in this challenge because I feel like our scores are.......not great. I feel like I could have turned out the puzzle and even winterbells. The flag Lovelis made is super cute and i think will fair well bc itâs very clean and neat. Itâs not super creative, but itâs definitely well made. I think even if we went to tribal I would be okay though. Liam seems like an easy enough boot for us. No one seems that dazzled by his contributions to the tribe.Â
i literally am the biggest clown who ever clowned for continuing to overdo it in challenges, if i'm allowed to make it to merge at this point it will literally be a miracle.
So Bodhi left on a unanimous vote yesterday and I'm glad that it worked out as planned! I definitely felt bad lying to him about it all and stuff, but I think it was the best for the tribe going forward. What does suck however is that we lost AGAIN! And it was actually close this time! I'm actually annoyed that we lost this time because I submitted my challenge at 4PM and the reason why we lost was because the last submission was at 8 :/ like... y'all couldn't get it in any earlier? Plus I'm annoyed because I find myself in the swing position between the DADS and The Rat Pack. Personally I don't trust Trace after finding out he tried to play the Rat Pack off as my idea when it was really his all along. To me, it shows that he'd betray me later on down the line. And the only purpose for "The Rat Pack" is so they feel like they're in the majority. So since we lost, I don't mind voting out Trace. Duncan and I called to confirm that we're on the same page. We also found out that Devon is telling us the same things about loyalty and allegiances and I don't like that. He also told Duncan that he would throw immunities and play idols for him if he needed it, and that Duncan was his number 1 ally. But he said the same exact thing to me. So... that has me a little sketch. But I also think that Autumn/Duncan are a close pair, so I may need to stick close to Devon for the long hall. But if Autumn/Duncan think I'm more with them than Devon, I'll take it. I'm supposed to go on call with the Dads soon. Duncan wants to tell them about the rat alliance so that Isaac doesn't use it as motive to get us out. Which i agree that it'd be a good idea as long as devon/autumn stick with us. Duncan and I both feel like Devon might be thrown off since he always likes to be in control, but not actually being in charge. So we'll need to do damage control when that happens. But for now it seems like Trace is going unless things change. If things go how I would want it to, then Trace leaves tomorrow.Â

Omg!!!!! Another win that makes me so happy . The tribe is all getting along great and I couldnt all for better ppl. I'm hoping soon to get some kind of solid group together. Kendell adam and amiry are ppl I def wanna work with long term at the time. Just gotta see what happens.Â
youtube
Not much has been happening lately so I might be able to keep this short and not ramble on and on like i usually do (ill still end up writing a novel probably) yippy yay it's day 5 and everything is still all smiles and giggles over here because we've won yet another immunity!! kinda boring tbh but obviously im happy we won immunity because now that buys me one more day and at the end of it that's all i care about. I kinda did want the brauns to go to tribal however instead of the brains because i just really would like my beauties to get a nice foot hold and a lead in the game, i actually enjoy taking to some of these people, and im trying my best to talk to as many people as i can, which anyone who knows me knows isn't the easiest thing for me, i was reading some of my old confessionals from both my past games and the one thing i consistently got dragged for was not being as present with people, which granted i did improve a lot on last time around for sure, but i still got work to do and im realizing that more each day when i have no urge whatsoever to talk to anyone (don't worry, it's not you, it's (crippling depression) me! I understand socializing is part of the game and i do think my social game is my strongest asset but to me i like to think of my social game as a more distinct kind, im more elusive and i like to be that, if you leave them wanting more dahling they'll keep you around, i dont like to show all my cards, and that's a quality that i reflect in both survivor and life, and it has advantages and disadvantages in both but ANYWHO despite all that dare i say i think im still doing *decent* ? I'm making it a priority to reach out at least once a day to *most people (AJ, Augusto, Amir, Austin) are the ones ive probably had some of the best conversations with where it was the most natural and just flowed you know, and still is on day 5, and with kendall ive had some talks with her i do like her but idk i get this vibe she's kinda holding back when talking to me, and ESPECIALLY same with connor? we only had one private conversation and he gave me about a 3 word response, and if you havent guessed by now i like elaboration or at least a lil bit of personality when you talk, no shade just an observation, so that's a small red flag im very much a person who matches energy, one of my go to's in survivor is being open to the possibility of anything, ill always work with anyone who will work with me, and i think thats how everyone should play so hopefully the people ive been talking a lot to feel similar but i guess we'll have to wait until a vote of some sort to see about all that.. I still havent heard any idol talk or even game talk quite frankly so im guessing people are just still keeping the friendly facade up..... or ...... is it me?? am i the one on the outs looking like boo boo the fool or is that just my paranoia getting to me??? im not gonna send myself into a tizzy about getting voted out when we're not even going to tribal i- lemme calm down. If i had to guess I'd say Kendall, Connor, or Amir have the idol probably but sounds like a mystery for another day because im DONE im clocking out for the night until other people wanna wake up and play the game too oop final note: ok but it would be sick and twisted if it turns out they are all playing the game just without me and im the first boot of the tribeÂ
Waking up on this glorious Day 5 with a new perspective. I originally applied to be on the brains tribe and was shook when I got brawn because letâs face it, my arms are akin to overcooked spaghetti noodles. BUT my tribe is so much stronger than the brains. Iâm hoping for a big name to go to shake things up. AND Iâm not really looking to swap onto a tribe with Trace or Autumn due to our past game history. Love them both dearly, but itâs gonna be a no from me.Â
okie so! update from me is i think im doing okay. like i think the benefit of no dua lipa cave is you can just build connections with everyone, you aren't voting someone out every round so why not capitalise on that? i'm so afraid of the fact that i'm overdoing it in challenges like i really need to calm. down. but im reassuring myself with the fact that in the first challenge i only was top because i did like... one more thing than others like its not thattt big of a deal? my puzzle time was clownery but hopefully people don't pay attention to it? im getting very anxious about overdoing it in challenges, but my thought process now is like. i need to act like people have an awareness of it, without getting kinda consumed by my anxiety about it? idk im hoping since most of these people don't know me, they wont notice me doing good in the challenge but truly who can be sure also am really just liking my tribe? like jake is ofc a king, i love jordan (who im gonna talk to later, he is the only one i feel like i have to talk to today), i also really like TJ who i was super harsh on at the start for no reason, i get good ally vibes from lovelis, liam m is super sweet even tho he is kinda inactive and dan is so fun (plus he told jake that he speaks to me one of the most so we love that!!). i've been trying to figure out what i even do about a lot of the super old school players that i have no connection/point of reference with? like people like scott, adam, kendall, aj i have truly no basis with? thats whats so scary about a swap, is at this point in the game i know 10/20 people left aka the brawn tribe + duncan/isaac/autumn, and like 10/20 isnt bad... BUT then the other 10 aka the beauty tribe + trace/scott/devon i have literally no connection to which is super scary JAKSDFA. im just real afraid of a swap. just swap me with jordan/jake/autumn/isaac PLEATHE. im just a pile of anxiety this season idk what to do im like frozen because of how scared i am... maybe it'll be all fine
Well, that was a close one. I struggled with that comp all day and I feel like absolute shit that I only got our team that 1 point. To me, it's inexcusable not to have be able to help my tribe as I wanted to contribute and make sure I made my worth known. So now I'm just this paranoid mess that I would have been in trouble had we gone to tribal. It's been hard to talk to some of these people or for most of those who I do talk to, I just don't really know where there head is at. I'm not sure if this is just a really guarded tribe, or if I really should be concerned. So I don't know what to do just yet. And that's not a feeling I like when playing TS.
Not gonna lie, Iâm pretty sad that Bodhi left the game like he was so active pre-season so I was expecting him to do his best to go super far and maybe he did? I donât know, but I did want a chance to actually get to play with him in TS but we keep passing each other by! I hope he is doing good despite how he might feel being the first boot yknow but yeah <3Â
The way I absolutely flopped with the idol system stuff is all types of funny and sad at the same time like I REALLY thought I did something only for it to be part of the challenge⌠That being said, Amir did tell me that he has a theory the idol system might be based on numbers which is interesting! I am super thankful he decided to tell me and we went on this long talk about how we are each otherâs #1s which is super cute! I really do trust Amir and I do want to go far with him because heâs awesome but that being said, my #1 is me like I promised myself that Iâd be selfish this time around just because being the selfless person I am hasnât gotten me a win but weâll cross that bridge when we get to it. We did go over a lot of stuff in terms of tribe dynamics and we both kinda agreed that AJ would be the first boot from the time if we went to tribal, we like our alliance with Kendall/Connor, we both like Adam and we both think Austin is sweet/genuine even if we donât talk to him tons so yay for that too <3
I am SO trying to sell the fact that me and Kendall are a duo to Kendall which is funny to me idk hjfkds like she did approach me super early on about aligning but I do have the tiniest feeling she did that to mostly everyone but Iâm trying to pin us with each other to her so she trusts me more, especially since I do feel as though she is the best connected on the tribe. I even called us Crystal Cox (me bc blazing speed and challenge flop ofc) and Ken(dell) ghfjdksl, Iâm doing the most but yeah, I just want Kendall to see me as her #1 in the game on the off chance anything happens yknow?
Austin thinks Iâm his #1 which is really sweet? I do like Austin even if it is hard to talk to him sometimes but hey, that happens. He told me that heâs really glad Iâm on this tribe (which I have heard from basically everyone especially Adam and Amir which makes me feel cute omg) and that we might need to get a group going soon. I was likeâŚ. Tea but I also donât know how quickly I want to get an alliance including Austin going just because itâs like⌠do I reveal that Austin and I are close-ish and be seen as a social threat? That just ainât cute sis! But yeah, Austin told me he also really likes Kendall and Amir and thatâs awesome that the two people I feel the closest to are ALSO doing THAT but at the same time, I want to be the one doing THAT the most because Iâm greedy (by Ariana Grande) so itâs something to keep in mind!Â
The way I absolutely flopped at that puzzle⌠this is why Iâm a Beauty cause a sis ainât smart to complete a puzzle and Iâm not brawn-y enough to do well in a challenge hgjfdk BUT that being said, Hagthor beat the thots and apiss and I couldnât be any happier! I do wish Brawn lost over Brain but yknow, you canât have everything go your way (â: itâs funny how I slayed the last challenge and flopped this one tho like a bitch really lacks consistency huh ghfjndmks
Ugh fineeeee since I've been called out... by myself. I guess I'll do the bare minimum. So we won immunity!!!! Wooo!!!!!! Low-key though through out the entire process of making the flag, I just kept thinking darn I wish we voted out someone last tribal because drawing 7 people is annoying... watch me get voted out next tribal council lol. That would be quality foreshadowing. Today I have two goals. 1. Figure out what the method of entering the tomb. I intend on getting in contact with Augusto or Connor for that one. Augusto because he is low-key my number one. Connor because I feel if anyone can solve it he probably could. 2. Set up group chat with me, Augusto, and Austin. So Austin can feel a false sense of reassurance and Augusto and I have options. Write more later maybe.
Honestly im feeling kind of trepidatious going forward which is a little wierd, i just dont feel like ive gotten my footing yet in this game. I think like, im in a good spot to be fine on this tribe because of my social game and how I contribute in challenges, but I dont know if I feel good about anything longterm just yet. What really is bothering me is the tomb. Its gonna be round 3 tonight and I haven't made any more progress on getting in than I have night one. I feel like I have a lot of pieces to this puzzle but nothing is fitting together and its bothering me. I'm also a little upset that if we lose, I could see Liam being the target and I can't see my self risking my position to save him if he cant save himself. He has my name on his wiki page its an obvious association to me, and while I think hed be loyal to me, I'm just wondering honestly if him as an ally is worth the target it may bring. Im cautiously moving through the beginning of this game with a lot of unnease and hopefully I find some steady ground soon.
I am annoyed that we are yet again at tribal. I played so fucking hard at winter bells but of course someone on another tribe got like 238593277 billion which threw us back into tribal... So annoying truthfully. But it's alright, I should be able to make it out alive. I want Devon to go home. But I also don't want to let my guard down. This vote is important for a few reasons. The first reason is that our tribe is very close, so I am nervous that lines are going to be drawn in the sand. The second is that, after this vote, we will be down to five, making 3 the majority. We have an alliance of 4, and lord knows that when you are down to 5, whoever feels like 3 and 4 of the alliance are most likely going to try and rope in the 5th person to get rid of each other. So my plan is to make Isaac and Scott BOTH feel as though they are my number 1s so that they actually stick to our alliance of 4 thinking that I will be keeping them both if we lose again. This is the only way that i can see it working, but idk. I feel bad if Devon ends up going because he's a nice guy, but we have to make choices about strengthening our team, and then I have to make a choice about strengthening my place in the game. Hopefully this doesn't come to bite me in the ass.
Things have been going pretty well for my tribe! We won the first immunity challenge and that really seemed to boost tribe morale. Granted, these past couple of days I've been quiet since I'm trying to boost grades that are literally 0s into something manageable before I graduate hehe. I've tried to keep up with people through small conversations, which seems to work better for me at the moment until I get myself together. Adam wants to create an alliance with Augusto and Amir, which I'm totally for. I understand, though, that he doesn't wanna do it immediately since there's really no urgency to? We didn't go to tribal, so why did it matter! That excuse aside, I do hope that us holding our breath to say something doesn't bite us in the ass because these are people I want to work with! I wanna get something going with Kendall as well hopefully, since I adore her! Earlier, I stated that Adam and I (Adam, really) found our way into the tomb and both flopped in the questions. Adam took another stab at it and found out we've been bamboozled! Someone beat us to the punch and has whatever contents were inside the tomb. I'm assuming it was an idol, but who knows what else is in there! It kinda made me lose motivation to keep searching inside but when in Rome? I'll probably end up trying again despite knowing the end result just because I wanna prove I can be a smart cookie as well. I also didn't gloss over this but I'll mention it really quickly, but I'm sad Bodhi went! He was one of the few people I was familiar with on the other tribes so it's unfortunate we aren't going to be able to connect with each other this game. A king has fallen. In lighter and more recents events, my tribe crushed the second immunity challenge. Kendall stunned with her artistry and I'm still gushing over how cute everyone's character was. I kinda like decimated Winterbells, but I've always been good at the game, and Amir did really well in the scavenger hunt. Augusto and Austin did really well in the puzzle also, despite their lack of confidence in offering a strong performance. We appear to be THEE tribe to beat honestly and I'm loving that. I love our tribe! I LOVE OUR TRIBE! It really would be a tragedy if we aren't able to keep up this win streak we're manifesting.Â
Sorry for not writing this sooner! Been having a bad depressive episode for the last couple days and it makes me unmotivated to write c': I feel like a flop so far in this game, not because I submit shit scores, but because I find it exhausting to connect with some of these people. They're all very nice in their own special ways, but interacting w some is like pulling teeth, and I guarantee they feel the same about me, which I would expect. That being said, I hope we keep winning, cause I don't have the energy to go to tribal right now.
Heading into a second tribal council, there is becoming less and less room to hide. I am struggling to hold my own against the other tribes when it comes to competitions, but thank goodness it's a numbers game. If everything goes accordingly, I am taking a backseat this vote and allowing a 4-2 vote out when it comes to Trace. I appreciated Duncan coming to me with the alliance chat information with him/Scott/Trace/Isaac, but didn't like how Autumn needed to tell me first. Shows that I really can't trust Scott/Duncan after a swap comes up. In regards to Scott, he outright didn't say anything. I like him and all, but it was a slimy move to say the least. He only said something because he HAD to vote out someone in one of his two alliances. This group will be dumb as hell if they let me swap. I'll flip on them as soon as possible and invite anyone into my alliance. The tribe swap is where I made my 'Slithers' game infamous last time, so I'm hoping for a similar output. Don't forget: I swapped with the minority last time in Guyana (shout out to Jess), so I'm not worried about the numbers and how its split. ALL I NEED IS A SWAP OR TWIST. GET ME OUT OF HERE.Â

Thank God we won that based on the tiebreaker, but yikes I didn't think my flag would've tanked so hard. Guess I've gotta get better at perfecting my craft huh, but at least we're safe. I feel nervous on this tribe to be honest, because I think I'm the second to bottom on the totem pole after the other Liam, so it isn't reassuring that if we lose twice I'll either be gone, or I could even be gone at our first tribal if he's got a solid alliance going...the only alliance I have right now is with Jordan and I don't really know where I sit with everyone else, but I'm afraid of overplaying... ugh so annoying! I think I just need to force a couple of game related conversations with people to build up some trust, just hope it wouldn't paint a target on my back for trying I guess...
oh gorl, some of these people on my tribe really think im just the clown of the tribe and cant put two and two together, well guess what, IM NOT. So Amir messages me, which nothing out of the ordinary there, ive been talking to him every day so far for the most part like i said we're a little familiar with each other from our pasts, but i was VERY surprised today at what had happened... what had happened was....he starts talking the smallest bit of game with me, basically he just said, "is it me or is everyone really quiet here?" and so i just agreed with him and i said yeah i dont think people are talking game yet which is a little weird, and then i threw the TINEST tea crumpet out there and i said "yeah ive talked to some people so easily like you, but then there's others who.....i cant say the same for" and i was absolutely hinting at connor/kendall just because i havent had the longest convos with them, which no biggie, but THEN about 20 minutes later i get a message from CONNOR of all people saying "hey adam!" ..... obviously im glad to talk to him and im all for getting to know everyone, but my instincts immediately went off and told me it's a little sus....how not even a few minutes ago i was saying how some people never talk to me and then out of no where the one person i was mainly talking about messages me?? Coincidences don't exist in survivor. Now I really have no choice but to think that amir in someway mentioned to connor that i said theres some people i havent talked to at all and that he probably needed to work on that.. which is true, but cmon. i know the tribe brain cell is missing but at least put a little thought into this and message me later tonight or not right after i say it?? I'm not sure if they have any type of past connection and while I definitely do wanna keep building my relationship with Amir, this will definitely make me question him a little bit at least until i see how some votes fall when we eventually go to tribal. Amir also told me he's had the most convos with Augusto, which is funny because thats exactly how both me and aj feel about augusto, which tells me augusto is really playing the game rn, and while thats someone i want to work with, it's also someone i need to be extremely careful with if we're still playing together down the road. plot twist: connor messaging me has absolutely nothing to do with amir and i just made this whole conspiracy for nothing but idk.... it's a conspiracy IM interested in.
***last add on because i forgot to say how the hell im gonna HANDLE this amir/connor situation... im keeping my eyes on it incase theyre in kahoots and also if they think im that dumb then clearly they havent watched me play before, which is great for me but bad for them, you cant trick a trickster try all you want, There's nothing I love more than being underestimated in survivor because it kinda makes it a little easier to play and gives me more options, so sure ill keep up my fake smiles and act like we're all fine and dandy, ill play dumb and wont even act like im onto them but i absolutely am and ill be ready to make my move the second it seems rightÂ
Ugh I feel so DIRTY. I feel so GROSS. Poor Devon, truly. I spoke with Autumn and told her about Devon, and she was in without a fight and told me that it should be 5-1. And then Devon came to me and was like... we all good for the vote tonight? And I'm like ................yes? Lol. I'm good, you're probably not. ugh, this is the part of this game that I hate. I want to never lose immunity ever again, let someone else break someone else's heart!
Something about Kendall is so chaotic and terrifying and I canât put a finger on why.her aligning was her talking to me for the first time in a day saying âletâs alignâ and created an alliance chat without even asking who else should be in it which leads me to believe her Augusto and Connor already have a trio and I was the 4th. Are all these focking people playing me?? Like i still cant tell if this is a real alliance but i want to believe it is and not a bluff to vote me out. But also like why even do that, the only person on this cast that I trust and have played with, bodhi, has just been voted out. Iâm a free agent and I can help that alliance make it far in the game, but they also have lots of relationships on other tribes so like I might not even be that valuable to them. I mentioned to Augusto about the numbers on the blog, hoping to create more trust because I really really love him and want to trust him but Iâm still just so damn unsure. if we lose this immunity and I get one bad signal from any of those 3, if they slip up even once, I wonât hesitate to align and gather the minority. But if they are playing me properly, then kudos to them!Â
I am just happy i have the idol i am going to put it in my ass.Â
me when the brains tribe only has 5 members left http://prntscr.com/s8y76g
You know what? https://66.media.tumblr.com/b7b4accba586ad321141b6ba80d69044/tumblr_omule3fwZC1w1swfno1_250.gifv I'm mad but I'm not tight because that same alliance that Duncan and I orchestrated is the same alliance that will get us through. So do I enjoy going to tribal? No. And do I enjoy knowing that Trace created an alliance w/ everyone except me and Devon? No. But the Dads will prevail and I trust Scott and the gang. I mean Ducnan is family so as long as we don't go it's fine. But Devon is my baby so absolutely gotta kill for him. That's what keep em close hahaha But no the Trace vote is a dream come true that I only crossed my mind once and STILL got manifested. Like Duncan suggested it and I said you got it because Trace will be the FIRST to rally all the white boys against me in a swap. Cute or not, Trace will kill me I'm convinced. Like something in my spirit told me not to trust Trace and low and behold: Duncan reveals that alliance to me on Day 3. So confirmed, Trace is leaving so that I don't fall to the bottom of the tribe. But it's all good- Isaac listens to Fleetwood Mac and watches Schitt's Creek so he's a good guy. And Scott is literally a cinammon roll who's too busy to snitch or flip. I don't have time to discuss how much I love Duncan or Devon so we're tabling that. Anyway If y'all need me I'll be doing this 4 part immunity challenge that determines whether I make Final 3 in the other org I'm in so try not to need me lmao
okay so... we aren't going to tribal but its still kinda messy on brawn beach. i kinda have felt this energy for a while, but i don't think jake and jordan have enough trust between the two of them for us to be a continual three person alliance. jake is a very reactive, gut-impulse kind of player which is honestly to his benefit since he is super perceptive. however that also means he is quick to be anxious about stuff in the game, which is the same as me and that is why we click. BUT. he thinks something is up with dan/jordan and honestly i see that and feel it. jordan keeps hinting at dan being the one to loop in and i think that does say something about them having some sort of game dynamic. however, jordan is maybe downplaying that relationship which is scary KLAF tbh i still like jordan and wanna work with him, but i do 100% have to keep tabs on him, his social connections could definitely become a problem if he has other priorities over me! so i think i just have to make sure im a continuing priority for him, so i have to find some sort of information to bring to him (maybe when dan proposes the alliance of me/jordan/jake/dan to me ill run to jordan and be like hey did dan suggest this to you how do you feel) to solidify that sort of trust? idk... i want my j-men to stick together and they ARENT. maybe i need to solidify stuff with TJ specifically more, he gives good ally vibes? but ya... its a mess tm

with the dad kuroo fits youâve been putting out, (i love them sm btw ty for making amazing content!) i know youâve gotten into like sumi overthinking n stuff but do you think youâll make sm where sheâs like wondering where her mom is or something like that? if not thatâs fine!! i just thought it would be a cool concept to get into and to see the backstory a little more yk?
itâs my pleasure writing them :â))) <3
sumi overthinking and not having many friends is quite relatable, but often overlooked since sheâs only five. so i like to write that kuroo would show care towards her and have deep talks despite her young age.
also because people tend to overlook the thoughts of 5 year olds! they donât listen to them because theyâre just.. children, yâknow? so i like to write kuroo as someone whoâll listen to his daughterâs problems, even though his problems are much greater.
her need for stuffed animal friends (objects for reassurance) is another small sign that sheâs really dependent on the close âpeopleâ around her.
okay truth to be told, sumi reflects who i was as a child, minus the supportive father :â)
~~~
the main reason why i write kuroo as a single dad is because i wanted the scenarios to be mainly just him and her.
itâs his time to shine as a dad! i havenât really thought about what happened to sumiâs mom, but letâs just say she passed away when sumi was 2 :â
i will not allow angst to take over sumi and kuroo but ... itâs okay, they only have good memories of her and loves her dearly.
sumi definitely misses her mom, despite not knowing her really well, ďżźespecially when her dadâs busy. and when she sees all of her classmatesâ moms pick them up...
ooh letâs not get started with motherâs day... for the past three years, theyâve kept a tradition where they make paper flower bouquets for momma and put them around a family picture ( pls iâm tearing up as iâm eating breakfast right now :((
but kuroo does quite a good job at taking care of her, for her not to feel like sheâs missing a whole parent, even though she is.
also, she visits kenmaâs parents (who she refers to as grandma and grandpa) often! and they love and see her as their own granddaughter! (which kenma shrugs off since heâs not planning to have children anyways lol)
itâs also one of kurooâs rare break days, finally he can have some time to himself! :)
her momâs death is also one of the biggest reasons why sumi doesnât like ms. loren!! sumi knows how much her dad loves her mom, from the way he stills talks about her like the way sheâll walk through the front door at any moment. which makes her all giddy yet sad inside :(
back to ms. loren, itâs clear that sumi does not like her.
1. she put smark the shark in the lost and found bin even though sumi has brought him to school on multiple occasions. ms. loren should know that heâs hers by now! poor smark had to sit in the lonely, dirty bin for so long :(
2. ms. loren keeps making googly eyes at her dad. sumi frowns everytime she and her dad are within 10 ft of distance. only momma should be able to make googly eyes at dad like that! but mommaâs not here anymore :((
(yikes iâm tearing up again)
thankfully, dad doesnât make those googly eyes back and keeps the conversations professional.
~~~
even though sumiâs mom is supposedly not alive anymore, i will still write about her sometimes as if she is
like, as if mrs. kuroo is literally still in their life. and no, itâs not gonna be âand it was all a dream.â
should i make sumiâs mom as the reader? i probably will...
those will be random special chapters :)) reasons why iâm gonna bring sumiâs mom back randomly:
1. it was never my intention to kill her off! i just wanted the story to be mainly kuroo and sumi, but what other explanation is there for her mom to not be there?
2. weâre all in need to cute family fluff <3
3. it really pains me making kuroo having to raise her all by himself while still grieving his wifeâs death :(( this is NO PLACE for angst!!
being a single dad to a daughter (or son) is definitely not easy.
kuroo always has a heavy debate in his mind whether to bring sumi inside the menâs public bathroom with him, or let her use the womenâs bathroom all by herself.
honestly, as much as he doesnât want to bring her to the menâs bathroom, he canât handle sending her off randomly in public at an environment sheâs never been alone at before :((
heâs not scared that sheâll be kidnapped in the womenâs public bathroom, but that sheâll feel too intimidated by everything and the adults inside. and he doesnât trust her with a random women.
heâs decided that when sumi brings it up herself, or when sheâs a bit older, then heâll let her go.
back on the topic of how being a single parent is nowhere near easy, sumiâs somewhat aware of how tired her dad is sometimes, which leads to her overthinking. and her not hopping into his room, asking for dinner when heâs fallen asleep on his desk.
but thatâs got kuroo even more worried because the last thing heâd want, is for her to think that sheâs a burden to him
in conclusion, sumi loves her dad as much as he loves her. not only is he the most important person in her life, but also the person she feels the most safe with, both physically and emotionally.
also, sumi is such a spoiled little girl! her room is full of books and stuffed animals and outfits that kuroo buys for her from time to time. plus, the amount of love sheâs given by her dad, the yummy food...
he has a hard time saying no to her, especially when sheâs been having a bad day and just wants a $10 bunny plushie. after all, sumi is his main money spender! thereâs not many other people in his life he spends his money on, so it might as well be her
okay. that is all :) thatâs a lot of deep background info :â) time for me to go back to writing about them going to the zoo-
#dad!kuroo#this is quite deep ... iâve thought about this for a while :â)#sumiâs public bathroom problem is something that people often overlook ... so i wanted to have a little demonstration#as one of the âsmallerâ problems kuroo faces as a single dad
