traitor. (sokka x f!reader) pt 13
part 1 | part 12 | part 14
A/N: Here’s a cute little part. Occurs in ‘the headband’ episode, but doesn’t encompass the whole episode, just the important parts :)
Y/N sat there in silence after Aang told her what he had learned in just one day at a Fire Nation school. What did that mean for her education of five years at one? She tugged one of their blankets around her shoulders because even next to the fire she was shivering. She felt like she had been punched hard in the stomach and all the wind was knocked out of her.
“I don’t know about this,” Aang whispered. “It feels wrong to steal someone else’s clothes.”
Katara and Y/N exchanged a look. “I call the silk robe!” Katara shouted as she jumped over the rocks they had hidden behind.
“But I guess if it’s for the good of humanity… I call the suit!” Aang followed her.
The rest of them joined and ran between the lines of clothes looking for anything that might fit. Y/N was reaching for a pair of pants when Katara stopped her. “Pick something else.”
“Why?”
“People are used to seeing you wear Fire Nation clothes. You’ll be more recognizable if you pick something you always wear.”
“Fine.” Y/N wrinkled her nose and pulled a deep red skirt from the clothesline.
“This too.” She whipped a shirt at Y/N’s face. When she caught a look at it she shook her head wildly. “No way!” Y/N worked to keep her voice low so the man they were stealing from couldn’t hear her. “It’ll be hard enough to fight in a skirt, Katara. I’m not wearing it.”
---
Y/N poked at the bare skin of her midriff. “I mean seriously, Katara. I have to shrug this shirt on like it’s a robe and it ties in the back. If a bad guy gets ahold of that I’ll be half-naked.”
Katara pulled her hair out of its braids and hair loopies and didn’t spare a glance at the other girl. “You complain almost as much as Sokka.”
Y/N huffed and crossed her arms. “I don’t.” She unwound the leather tie around her braid and let her hair hang loose down her back, tying a similar top knot to Katara’s. “Let’s just go find the others.”
“How do we look?” Katara asked the other three. Y/N gave a very unenthusiastic twirl. Y/N turned back to notice how Aang’s eyes widened and he blushed as he looked at Katara. Y/N raised an eyebrow and glanced at Katara’s face, who was looking back at Aang with soft eyes. What is going on here? Y/N hummed in thought.
“You look like a girl,” Sokka said as his eyes bounced from Y/N’s skirt to her face.
“Thank you for that astute observation. I am a girl,” Y/N replied drily.
Sokka was blushing furiously. “No, I mean–”
“Oh, Katara. Your necklace,” Aang interrupted.
Katara rubbed the carved bone. “I guess it’s pretty obviously from the Water Tribe.”
“Don’t worry,” she patted Katara’s shoulder. “We’ll get you something else in town so it doesn’t feel like you lost it.”
---
Y/N slid the new bracelet she had bought around her upper arm while she listened to Aang talk. All of them bought something to make their disguises more authentic, while also being able to feel more like themselves; a new Fire Nation necklace for Katara, a flame pin to hold together Sokka’s top knot, a headband for Toph and the bracelet to help hide the burn scar on Y/N’s bicep.
“I used to visit my friend Kuzon here a hundred years ago. Just follow my lead.” Aang confidently turned the corner of the building they were behind and winked at a guy on the street. “Greetings, my good hotman!”
Toph pulled on Y/N’s elbow. “Is this really how they talk in the Fire Nation?”
“Uhh.. you know, I didn’t go into the city much but I’m almost one hundred percent positive that no they don’t,” Y/N whispered.
“Spirits, do not stop him. This is hilarious,” Toph laughed as Aang tipped his head to another man walking by, calling him ‘hotman’.
“I wouldn’t dream of it. I wish you could see the looks people are giving him.”
The five of them stopped in front of a restaurant. “Oh, I didn’t know we were going to a meat place,” Aang said a little dejectedly
“Everyone here eats meat!” Sokka exclaimed. “Even the meat!” He pointed over to a cow-hippo who was eating meat off the ground. Y/N’s stomach turned at the sight. Maybe she didn’t want to eat meat today either.
---
Aang left, promising to meet them in the same spot outside after he found something vegetarian. Ten minutes had passed and there was still no sign of him. Katara was beginning to pace with worry.
“He could have gotten lost looking for something to eat, right?” She asked the rest of them.
“We could go look around for him?” Y/N offered. When she noticed the hint of fear in Katara’s eyes, she added, “Nothing happened to him of course. He probably just got lost! Or he’s looking at some shop. How about you and Toph stay here, wait for him to see if he comes back. Sokka and I can wander the town looking for him.”
“We can?” Sokka asked.
Y/N nudged his ribs.
“We can,” he confirmed. He popped the last bit of his elk-caribou kebab in his mouth and threw the stick away. “Aang will come back and we’ll feel silly for being worried about him.”
“I hope you’re right, Sokka.” Katara said.
---
“Ooh, let’s look in this shop,” Sokka marveled, pulling Y/N along with him. It was only a shop full of little trinkets and bags but everything Sokka saw excited him.
“What do you think of this bag?” Sokka tossed the strap over his shoulder and posed.
“You have an Earth Kingdom bag back at camp that looks the same,” she retorted.
Sokka rolled his eyes. “Yeah, but now that we’re here, I need a Fire Nation one.”
Y/N shrugged and Sokka took that as her statement on what she thought of the bag. He placed it back on the table and picked up a ceramic box. “What about this box?” he asked.
She took it from his outstretched hands and inspected it. It was a black box with a golden Fire Nation flame on top. “What are you going to put in the box?” she asked as she handed it back to him.
“I–um, cool rocks that I find?”
Y/N hummed, amused. “And what are you going to do with the box full of cool rocks?”
“Put it in my bag,” Sokka muttered. “Fine! I won’t get it!”
---
“You’re not very fun to shop with.” Sokka said when they left.
Y/N looked up at the sun to check the time. “We’re supposed to be looking for Aang, not shopping.”
Sokka waved his hands. “Aang is fine. He’s the Avatar, he can take care of himself.”
“I’m assuming by the way Katara reacted that he doesn’t necessarily go off by himself a lot.”
“Katara–” he paused to think of the right word, “–she mother-hens us.” He held up his hands defensively. “Not that I’m saying we don’t need it, because sometimes it’s nice, but she worries entirely too much.”
Y/N stopped a fruit stand and picked up a ripe peach. “I don’t know, it’s kind of nice.” She passed along a few coins to the merchant and handed a second one to Sokka.
“How is it nice?” Sokka asked, then bit into the flesh of the peach.
“I don’t know. The way I grew up there was never anyone worried about when I would come home, you know? I just came and went as I pleased and then when I moved to the palace it was the same way.”
“You lived at the palace?” Sokka blurted out.
“Huh? Oh, yeah,” Y/N watched as Sokka cut the pit of the peach out with a small knife and tossed it into the road. He nodded at her to continue. “I moved to the capital to go to school and about a year after, I moved into the palace.” She bit into the peach and wiped the juice off her chin with the back of her hand.
“Why though? Why not live with your parents?” He asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.
“Do you always ask this many questions?”
“I’m just trying to figure you out,” Sokka stuttered.
“Why?” Y/N giggled. She abruptly stopped when Sokka blushed and gave her a look she couldn’t decipher.
“I just want to,” he finally said. “We don’t know anything about you.”
“Well, if you must know–it’s embarrassing–but my parents encouraged it actually. They were ecstatic that I was able to get close to the Royal Family and even though we weren’t nobility they had this absurd fantasy that I could marry Zuko.” Y/N covered her face in humiliation.
Sokka shared a look of disgust. “Fire Prince Ponytail, huh?”
She smiled at the joke, but it faded quickly; the hurt of Zuko’s betrayal still heavy on her heart. “He wasn’t always like that.” Y/N ran quickly to his defense. “I knew him when he was still good.”
Sokka collapsed on the ground and leaned up against a wall. “So tell me about it.”
Y/N sat next to him and bumped his arm with her shoulder. “About what?”
“Your palace life, Princess.”
---
The sun was setting when her and Sokka headed back to the cave. The streets were lined with paper lanterns and Y/N could hear lively music being played somewhere. It was busier than it was during the heat of the day and Sokka and Y/N were frequently bumped into from all sides, right into one another. Finally, after losing him twice in the crowd she looped her arm through his. She felt him tense up under her touch, but immediately relaxed.
“Oh, hey, what’s that?” She pointed off in the distance to a wooden board that looked like it had pictures posted all over it. She weaved them around the crowd to stand in front of it. It was a bulletin board full of advertisements, lost items, found items, and wanted posters. Her eyes ran across the assortment of them–The Blue Spirit, an Admiral named Jeong-Jeong–until her eyes landed on one in particular.
“Yeah, they put these out when we first started traveling with Aang.” Sokka poked at a yellowing poster of Aang in his airbender clothes. “Luckily they won’t be hunting for him anymore.”
“Yeah. They aren’t hunting you,” Y/N pointed at the only poster that drew her attention. The one with a similar likeness to her face. “But I think they’re hunting me now.”
Sokka peered around them to see if anyone was watching and ripped the poster down and shoved it in his pocket. “We need to tell the others.”
They only stopped running when they reached the mouth of the cave, the sun low in the sky.
“Where were you two?!” Katara scolded. “We waited for you to come back but you never did!”
“We looked around for Aang but–” Sokka started. He unfolded the poster from his pocket.
“Well did you find him?” She asked.
Sokka and Y/N shared a look. “You mean you didn’t?” Y/N fretted.
“No and Toph and I came back here when we couldn’t find anyone–”
The four of them jumped a noise outside. Y/N reached back instinctively to grab the hilt of her sword just when Aang strode in with Momo perched on his shoulder. His clothes were muddy and there was dirt on his face like he’d been chased through the woods but he was smiling. “Hey guys!”
“Where have you been? We’ve been worried sick!” Katara raced to pull him into a hug.
Aang sheepishly pulled off his headband. “I got invited to play with some kids after school.”
Sokka’s eyebrows shot up into his hairline. “After what?!”
“I enrolled in a Fire Nation school and I’m going back tomorrow.”
“Enrolled in what?!” Y/N thought Sokka was going to pass out.
“Let’s just sit down and talk about it,” Y/N suggested.
“I’m learning about all the propaganda they teach–”
Behind her, Y/N knew that Sokka was still talking, still flailing his arms around but she couldn’t hear the words he was saying because–
“Propaganda?”
Everyone froze, unsure of what to do next. Y/N could hear Toph behind her by the fire. “Oh no.”
“Um–”
Y/N wasn’t sure what to think. “No, don't even think about not telling me! What do you mean they teach propaganda at Fire Nation schools?”
---
Y/N sat there in silence after Aang told her what he had learned in just one day at a Fire Nation school. What did that mean for her education of five years at one? She tugged one of their blankets around her shoulders because even next to the fire she was shivering. She felt like she had been punched hard in the stomach and all the wind was knocked out of her.
What did Sokka, Katara, Aang and Toph think of her as they realized that these were the things that she grew up learning? That she had foolishly believed that the Air Nomads–known pacifists–had created an army big enough to destroy the Fire Nation so they had to be taken out first. That the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes, after hearing of the destruction of all the Air Temples and supposedly the Avatar, had joined together and invaded the Fire Nation. That she had believed in and supported the idea that the Fire Nation was doing the right thing, that cleansing the world of troublemakers and creating obedience and peace in the villages was ‘the only way’.
In the back of her mind, Y/N was trying to reason with herself, You knew the whole time. That’s why you left, that’s why you're trying to do good with the Avatar; to right the wrongs of your Nation. But it didn’t matter. She’d believed long enough for it to be harmful.
“Not to take away from the frankly alarming things we just learned but–” Sokka handed Aang the poster. “–we also found this when Y/N and I were in town.”
“What is it?” Toph asked.
“It’s a wanted poster for Y/N,” Aang muttered.
Katara jumped up to join him in reading it. Y/N didn’t need to see it again. She’d memorized it the first time she laid eyes on it.
And suddenly, her day was ruined. She couldn’t remember the taste of the peach she had eaten that afternoon or the feeling of the sun on her face. She couldn’t remember what the music sounded like as her and Sokka wandered out of town or what it felt like to spill her life story to someone who wanted to listen.
“Maybe I should go,” Y/N said numbly.
“What?” Katara said looking up from the poster.
“I’m putting you all in danger by being around you. Without me you’d be free to roam without the fear of being caught in the back of your minds all the time. It would be better for all of you like that!” Y/N was starting to get mad. Why couldn’t they see it? Why couldn’t they understand that this is the best option for everyone? That she was trying to save them?
“Why would you say something like that? How is that better?” Toph argued.
“Because you don’t need me here anyways? How could you want me around after hearing what Aang learned at school. Mind you, up until ten minutes ago, I believed every one of those things to be true!” Y/N stood up and paced around the cave, no longer able to be sitting still. Their campfire threw wild shadows of her form on the walls.
Y/N was beginning to feel like her outburst was due to more than just learning about Fire Nation propaganda but she couldn’t stop her mouth from moving. She stopped in front of them all for a second. “Tell me exactly what purpose do I serve on this mission?”
She took their silence for an answer. “Exactly,” Y/N growled.
Sokka stood up with her. “Not everything needs an exact purpose! You just fit with us!”
“But I don’t!” Y/N shouted. Her eyes and nose were stinging with unshed tears. Y/N rubbed her eyes with the heels of her hands to keep the tears at bay for just a second longer. “I need a reason. I need a purpose. I have to have one! I don’t know how to describe this feeling. I’m just... lost. And–and I don’t even know how to explain it to you. How do I try and explain that my life has no meaning when I have no one to serve? I sit here with you guys and I’m wondering how you even wanted me to come when there was no reason for me to be here? I can’t even be your Fire Nation guide because I’ve never even seen most of the cities and apparently, I don’t even know my own history!”
Y/N looked at Katara. She blinked and twin tears traced down her cheeks. “I told you. I’m weak. I care about someone who wants me dead so badly she made me a wanted person. And all I want is to make her better so I can go home and I just can’t get past it all.”
Y/N put her head in her hands and sobbed. She felt two arms wrap around her waist and a head lay on her shoulder. Two more arms wrapped around the both of them. And pretty soon all five of them stood huddled in the cave in a group hug.
Y/N sniffled. “Why are you all comforting me like you’re my friends?”
“You are our friend,” Katara murmured into Y/N’s shoulder. “Don’t you want to be friends with us?”
Y/N whimpered. “I really do. I guess I just needed to hear you say it.”
“If it makes you feel better. I have no problem bossing you around.” Toph’s voice was muffled from the pile they were in.
Y/N smiled through her tears. “Thanks, Toph.”
---
A/N: listen, I don’t care if I made you cry, because I cried while writing that scene more than once and that’s all that matters.

Fic: Bracelets Full of Wishes
Hello there! I tried my hand at writing a WangXian fic! I just finished mdzs and I absolutely LOVE them. Alternatively, it can be read here! I hope you enjoy!
Title: Bracelet Full of Wishes
Pairing: Lan Wangji | Lan Zhan /Wei Wuxian | Wei Ying
Rating: General Audiences
Words: 2441
Summary: Wei Wuxian’s told that if you make a bracelet for someone with a wish in mind, the bracelet snaps when that wish comes true.It sounded utterly ridiculous, so why not see if it worked?
“Lan Zhan!” Wei Wuxian burst into the Jingshi, holding something in his arms.
Lan Wangji raised an inquisitive eyebrow at his lover. Without a word uttered from him, Wei Wuxian already knew he was asking, “What is that in your hands?”
While giggling and flashing a giddish smile, Wei Wuxian dumped the contents of his hands out onto the table that Lan Wangji was currently using to read at. It was several different colours of string, neatly wrapped around itself on small spools.
Lan Wangji was even more confused now. Wei Wuxian began to explain, “When I was walking through town, a street vendor was selling these. He told me that if you make a bracelet for someone out of this thread with a wish in mind, the bracelet will break once the wish comes true.” He chuckled. “It sounds ridiculous, so let’s try it!
Since Lan Wangji wasn’t necessarily doing anything urgent or of importance at the moment, he obliged. With a slight nod of approval, Wei Wuxian’s smile grew even larger. After looking at his husband’s radiant smile, Lan Wangji’s chest felt incredibly warm and full of love for the man. He could stare at his smile for ages, but he wouldn’t dare tell him that.
Wei Wuxian separated the strings by colour; he bought a few spools of dark red, black, an ice cold shade of blue, and white. He portioned out the dark red and black spools to Lan Wangji. Looking down at the two shades he’s been given, he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. He thought they were making their own?
Wei Wuxian chimed in, “It wouldn’t be any fun if we made our own bracelets. I’ll make yours.” Suddenly, Wei Wuxian had a spark of realization, as if he forgot to mention something earlier. He stuck a hand into one of his sleeves, fumbling through it for something in particular. Once he found it, he brought out a piece of paper and slid it across the desk to Lan Wangji, pointing at one of the pictures. “He said these were the most popular patterns. You can choose whichever one you like, surprise me!”
Wei Wuxian collected his spools of string and moved to the other side of the small room. “Mine’s a surprise too. You can see it when I’m done!” He yelled from across the room. Rolling up his sleeves with his tongue slightly sticking out from the corner of his lips, Wei Wuxian got to work.
-
The entire room was silent. Not a single word passed between the two of them. On one side of the room, Lan Wangji cut two long strands of each colour and folded them over each other, giving him eight strings to work with in total. Then, he began to arrange them in an array that he was finally satisfied with.
Once he was silently satisfied with the placement of the strands, he briefly glanced at the rest of the instructions and began to knot the pieces of string to each other. Lan Wangji made light work of the task given to him, as if it came naturally to him. Weaving the string through gave him a slight sense of satisfaction as his masterpiece continued to grow longer and longer, until it was wrist length. At this point, he didn’t feel the need to continue and took the subtle creative liberty of fastening it in his own way. He triple knotted the end of the bracelet and began to prepare the final piece for it.
Although he didn’t want to use it, he took the book that he was reading and neatly wrapped the string around it over fifty times. Once he was satisfied, he grabbed another piece of loose string he had and tightly knotted it on one of the very ends of the loop.
Swiftly, but with caution, Lan Wanji slid the the loop off of the book and swiftly cut the strings on the opposite end. Then, he grabbed the large knot he made at the end of the bracelet and inserted into the middle of his noodle-like work in progress, making sure every angle of the unsightly knot underneath was covered.
Joining the two sides that were separated by the first knot he tied, he took another piece of loose, dark red string and began to wrap it where the bracelet’s knot ended, creating a tassel to secure the bracelet around the wrist it was meant to be worn on. After silently admiring his work despite his stone cold stature, his gaze silently landed on his husband’s back, wondering to himself how he was doing.
-
Wei Wuxian sighed. It wasn’t like the bracelet making process wasn’t going well, rather, it was the wish that he wanted to infuse into the bracelet that stumped him.
Wei Wuxian rocked from side to side in his cross legged position. The longer and harder he thought about it, the first thing that came to mind was who the bracelet was for. There were so many things that Wei Wuxian loved about him, the first being how incredibly easy it was to tease him. Possibly because of his expressionless and disciplined outer appearance, Wei Wuxian loved to tease him. He would do anything that could get the slightest bit of his cool as ice face to crack and get a reaction out of him… even if his pranks and attempts to tease him would mostly backfire these days...
Wei Wuxian smiled, eyes lit with a mixture of mischief and softness. How could he ever forget the times he’s pulled pranks on Lan Wangji over all these years, even before they were together?
Another thing that he couldn’t help but come to mind was how funny it was when the man drank even the tiniest sip of alcohol. Usually, people got drunk first and slept after, but for Lan Wangji, it was the complete opposite. Even he was capable of being somewhat childish. No matter what, when Wei Wuxian remembered the time when Lan Wangji took off his head ribbon after he instructed him to and tied it around his hands. He could still feel the embarrassment he felt back then from not knowing the hidden symbolism behind the headband and what taking it off for someone else meant to the Gusu Lan Sect, but now, it was officially his.
As Wei Wuxian tied another loop into the bracelet, he began to chuckle at the almost finished product.
Last but not least, Wei Wuxian couldn’t replace the indescribable feeling he had when he was with him. It was like the final missing piece of the puzzle known as his life was finally put into place, filling him with something akin to immense joy. A lot of embarrassing things spilled out from Wei Wuxian’s lips on a daily basis to tease Lan Wangji, but he was still a bit too embarrassed to say this to him directly; he genuinely loved every little bit about him. He wanted to be together with him, to night-hunt with him until the two of them grew old together, forever and always…
The sudden realization dawned upon Wei Wuxian. Well shit, he guessed all he wished for was to just be happy with him.
A deep crimson seeped Wei Wuxian’s cheeks, bleeding onto his ears and leaving his whole face hot with embarrassment. He smiled to himself, his heart and chest filled with immense warmth, smiling with satisfaction at the realization. That was his wish.
After all that thinking he did about his husband, he wanted to see him. He side-eyed Lan Wangji, unexpectedly making eye contact with him. This caused him to almost jump out of his skin, still feeling embarrassed after those mushy thoughts to meet his eyes. Although his was still flushed with embarrassment, it didn’t stop him from flirtatiously winking at him, hoping that somehow and someway, doing so would transfer the heat upon his cheeks to him. Lan Wangji’s face was as stiff as usual, showing no signs of it affecting him, but Wei Wuxian thought he clearly saw the ghost of a smile at the corners of his mouth.
“You better wear it when I’m done!” He exclaimed from across the Jingshi.”
Lan Wangji replied, “Mn.”
Tying the final knot onto the fastener he used, he held the bracelet up, looking over his masterpiece. His handiwork wasn’t too shabby, but it wasn’t exactly the neatest either. Out of the designs handed to him by the vendor, this one was one of the more difficult patterns, and Wei Wuxian wasn’t exactly the best when it came to making arts and crafts. Some of the small knots that wove the bracelet together were either pulled to tightly or too loosely, causing some of the pattern to be distorted. Regardless, it was the thought that counted more than the final result.
-
By the time the two finished, the sun was already hung low in the sky, a warm orange glow filling the room and surrounding the two. A bird that Wei Wuxian didn’t know the name of chirped loudly by the window, as if it were watching the both of them work in silence and was signalling that it was time for the big reveal.
Wei Wuxian returned to the table, sitting beside Lan Wangji, holding the bracelet out of his boyfriend’s sight.
“I’ll go first,” Wei Wuxian smiled. “Lan Zhan, close your eyes.”
On command, Lan Wangji closed his eyes. Wei Wuxian gently grabbed his husband’s wrist, fastening the bracelet onto it. Once he was done, he sighed a breath of relief, he was worried that just like the knots, he made it too tight or too loose, but it fit perfectly.
Wei Wuxian silently snickered, “You can open your eyes now.”
Lan Wangji opened his eyes, looking down at the bracelet pulled taut around his wrist, the same look of indifference was plastered across his face. The bracelet’s design was tacky, consisting of blue hearts on a white background, fastened around his wrist with a metal charm in the shape of a rabbit.
Wei Wuxian held back his laughter, trying
not to make an ounce of a chuckle escape between his lips. The stark contrast between the tacky bracelet pattern and his stoic expression was enough to send him into a fit of laughter.
“Do you like it Lan Zhan?” He asked in between his laughter. He couldn’t hold it in any longer.“I made it just for you!”
Lan Wangji brought his other hand over, caressing the bracelet. It wasn’t the best looking bracelet, but the main point that Lan Wangji focused on was that it was made by the most important person to him. Not expecting a serious response back, he simply replied, “I do.”
Wei Wuxian’s laughter faded. He knew that no matter how hard he tried to tease him, like always, it would somehow fire back at him. A smile full of adoration and love made its way onto Wei Wuxian’s face, “I’m glad you do. Now, it’s my turn!”
He sat back up after tumbling over from laughing so hard, “What kind of bracelet did you make me?”
Just like Wei Wuxian ordered, Lan Wangji commanded him to do the same thing, “Close your eyes.”
And just like Lan Wangji did for Wei Wuxian, he closed them.
Lan Wangji effortlessly wrapped the bracelet around Wei Wuxian’s wrist before pulling the tassel through to secure it. It was perfectly snug around his wrist, after all, how could Lan Wangji forget the size of his husband’s wrist when he used his very own hands and monster strength to hold them down during their most intimate moments?
Once Wei Wuxian felt Lan Wangji’s warm fingers pull away and the texture tightly woven string, only then did Wei Wuxian’s eyelids open.
He looked down, finding his wrist adorned with a thin bracelet the same width as the one he made for Lan Wangji, its dark red and black pattern alternating in the shape of v’s down the bracelet’s length. It fit perfectly with his outfit, complementing the iconic red and black he already wore on a daily basis.
He looked at the fastener and thought it really finished the bracelet. It was the same dark red used in the pattern, but as a tassel. Lan Wangji really paid as much attention as he could into it and Wei Wuxian appreciated the thought. The tassel was a nice touch to remind him of the memorable red tassle that hung upon on Chengqing, making the bracelet pop just as the tassel did on the black body of the flute.
“You did a really good job!” He gave his husband a radiant smile before wrapping his arm around Lan Wangji, pulling him into a side hug, “I’ll make sure to wear it!”
Lan Wangji looked at his own bracelet before he wrapped his arm around his husband in response, pulling him closer. He asked, “What did you wish for?”
“Now now Lan Zhan, haven’t you heard? If you tell people what you wish for, your wish won’t come true!” He loosened his grip for a second, “I will tell you one thing, though.”
Wei Wuxian settled onto Lan Wangji’s lap, wrapping his legs around him as if he were a koala hanging onto a tree branch. He wrapped his arms around his neck, pressing his lips firmly onto Lan Wangji’s, closing his eyes. After a moment, he pulled away, smiling as his cheeks tinted a gentle rosy pink. “I love you so much.”
Surprising Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji grabbed his shoulders, flipping him so that his back was pressed to the floor. He replied, “I love you too.”
Intertwining their hands with which both bracelets rested on, Lan Wangi planted a firm kiss onto Wei Wuxian’s lips, sending a spark of electricity throughout his entire body. Wei Wuxian smiled into the kiss. His husband was never as direct in telling him things such as ‘I love you’, but rather showed it through his actions. So this time, he knew there was a lot of meaning behind those three words.
This was what Wei Wuxian wanted, how he wanted to spend the rest of his days. With Lan Wangji by his side, he already felt his happiest.
With a snap, the two bracelets snapped in two, breaking away from their wrists as Lan Wangji pulled away.
Wei Wuxian lifted his wrist away from the fallen bracelets, looking straight into his husband’s eyes, “I guess it wasn’t so ridiculous after all.”
Lan Wangji replied, “Mn.”
He guessed both of their wishes had already come true.

“I love you too.” Chuck murmurs against your lower lips, giving you one more kiss there before setting you down. “Now get dressed, love! We can play more when we get home.” He tells you teasingly before swatting your ass before going to get dressed himself.
I hum as I slowly dress, finishing up with zipping up my coat, tying a red ribbon in my hair like a headband, and buckling a black felt choker around my neck that has a silver ring that rests in the hollow of my throat. Kinda like a collar. I then skip downstairs, eagerly waiting by the door while looking around boredly. There where pictures everywhere of the two of us but some lone ones of just me. The pictures he took every year on my birthday that had been going on for as long as I could remember. He called it a way of documenting my growth. Always naked but with different themes.
The one by the door is of a thirteen year old me, little white cuff bracelets around my wrists, bunny ears on top of my head and a fluffy little tail plug between my as cheeks. I’m on all fours, leaning forward on my forearms and my ass propped up.

What’s trending for bridal jewellery in 2017?
New Post has been published on http://www.wholesalejewelrycatalog.org/business/jewelry-business/whats-trending-for-bridal-jewellery-in-2017/
What’s trending for bridal jewellery in 2017?
Weddings may be timeless but trends play a major role in how they look and feel. So what’s hot in the world of weddings and jewellery this year? ANGELA TUFVESSON investigates.
Wedding planning is a complicated business – and not just because couples need to figure out everything from where to hold the reception to what to wear and how to make sure feuding family members aren’t seated at the same table.
For many couples, perhaps the trickiest aspect of tying the knot is creating a celebration that both speaks to the uniqueness of the union and adheres to a traditional wedding format. It reflects a desire to be the same as everyone else…but different.
This is where themes come into play, allowing couples to express themselves through a vintage vibe, classic ambience, bohemian feel or emphasis on particular colours while maintaining the usual wedding framework characterised by a stroll down the aisle with Dad, a first dance to something slow and melodic and cutting the three-tiered cake.
Of course, popular nuptial themes reflect a complex mix of trends in lifestyle, fashion, art, celebrity culture and technology, and when it comes to jewellery they play out in an ever-changing preference for different styles, metals and gemstones. Here’s what’s trending in the wedding space this year and how jewellers can translate consumer preferences into in-store gains.
Going green
Global colour authority Pantone’s Colour of the Year in 2017 is ‘Greenery’, which the company describes as being a “refreshing and revitalising shade” that encourages consumers to “take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate”.
Accordingly, many couples are embracing greenery in their weddings, says wedding coordinator Christine Ligthart, director of education at the Australian Academy of Wedding and Event Planning and founder of the I Do Crew.
“It goes across the board from using foliage to even potted plants in weddings,” Ligthart states. “Other couples will have really elaborate installations above their tables that are just greenery, with maybe the odd flower. Most people do greenery with elegance or really classic, beautiful styling. Lots of gold and crisp linen and maybe white flowers is quite popular.
“It’s not so much about having an eco-wedding, which was trending five-plus years ago. People like natural and they want to feel that their wedding is good for the environment, but it’s quite hard to do so they have stepped away from that towards this greenery and natural look.”
So how does this translate to jewellery?
Anita Rosielle from Kezani Jewellery, which is based in Western Australia and specialises in bridal jewellery, says emerald is popular among couples who take the trend at literal value, while soft, muted gold tones are on-trend among couples seeking a more fluid interpretation. “Plus, many girls are going natural with lots of leaves and choosing metal leaf sprays in the hair with metal cuffs,” she adds.
Vintage vibe
Reflecting a similar desire to avoid opulence while retaining an emphasis on intricate detail, contemporary couples are increasingly drawn to the charms of vintage-themed weddings characterised by lace gowns with sweetheart necklines, historical venues and classic cars. Crucially, there’s scope to reuse or upcycle favourites from the past as well as buy new items inspired by the 1920s and beyond.
“Because we’ve gone through a phase over the last 10 to 15 years of very simple, classic, basic trends, the next wave of more intricate design is coming back,” says Andrew Teleki, chief designer at Charles Rose in Melbourne.
“Vintage is certainly popular because you can get a bit more elaborate with the designs rather than just basic solitaires. Halos – the bigger look for the same amount of money – is what tends to be trending with us,” Teleki explains. “So if someone has a certain price point, a solitaire diamond ring is just a solitaire, the most basic, whereas if you change it up a little bit with a halo in a vintage sort of style and design you get a much more impactful ring.”
Rosielle says lace headpieces teamed with pearl and crystal earrings and bracelets are popular among vintage brides, while Justin Linney, creative director at Linneys in Western Australia, says many couples choose delicate yet decorative engagement rings and wedding bands. “It’s still elegant but definitely…a lot more decorative,” he states.
Even if couples don’t set out to create a vintage theme, Teleki says the desire for individual pieces fit for Instagram can often result in a vintage design.
“With modern day media on their phones, couples have everything at the touch of a finger and they flip through ideas,” he says. “You do get a chance to make something very individual, and when you do things like that it does have a bit of that vintage feel.”
Boho chic
Along with vintage, Linney says ‘boho chic’ is one of this year’s key wedding trends. “It’s that push towards being a little bit different, not following the trends, being less conventional that’s inspiring boho chic,” he comments. Think free-flowing fabrics, homemade invitations, outdoor ceremonies and hand-picked flowers with a stylish edge.
Ben Preston Black from Creations Jewellers in Canberra says lifestyle and home design trends often have a strong influence on wedding jewellery styles.
The jeweller explains it’s evident this season in consumer preferences for all things rustic and natural – which, in turn, flows through to the styling of boho chic-themed nuptials.
“For example, if you look at how kitchen design and industrial design has evolved, you see that bathrooms are all about copper,” Preston Black says. “All the piping is left exposed because people want it left a little bit unfinished, a little bit more rustic.”
As such, rose gold and coloured gemstones are also popular among the boho chic set.
“There’s a lot of rose gold, a lot of coloured gemstones and peachy-pink colours,” Preston Black says. “Anything that’s got that sort of coppery, industrial colour to it is popular as well as matte finishes, sandblast finishes, hammered finishes and anything with a rustic feel.”
Rosielle agrees rose gold as well as angular pieces are popular among couples styling a bohemian theme. “[We’re seeing a lot of] small jewelled crowns and headbands, along with silk and champagne coloured gemstones,” she says. “Feature dress rings and ear cuffs use more pointy and angular gemstones rather than rounded.”
Linney says boho brides are drawn to unique, personalised designs: “These clients are a bit more open to the use of different coloured materials, so perhaps considering rose gold rather than just white or yellow gold or platinum. They will also consider some different coloured gemstones, such as sapphires, rubies and emeralds, to really get that point of difference across.”
Classic ambience
Classic-themed celebrations are elegant, sophisticated and most in keeping with the traditional wedding format. Crucially, despite the demand for more modern themes, classic is just as popular as ever with today’s couples.
“The classic theme is not really changing with brides – the bride’s not really adjusting her style to suit the latest trends,” Linney says. “What we’re finding is brides are going for classic solitaires and, in particular, fancy-shaped diamonds in the solitaire design.
“We’re also finding with this particular style that clients are looking at plain wedding bands, the more traditional wedding bands without any diamonds, whereas previously it was all centred around the diamond set wedding bands. It’s interesting to note that change.”
Ultimately, Ligthart believes it pays to remember that despite a desire to individualise their nuptials with a theme, most couples value the traditional wedding format and any theme-inspired choices will take place within this framework. As such, most wedding jewellery will retain elements of classic design.
“If you go to a wedding, even if it looks really unusual or different, it will generally still follow exactly the same format that weddings always have,” she says. “Couples want to step outside and have a bit of fun; however, they still want it to look like a wedding.
“That goes for wedding jewellery as well. There’s more confidence in knowing their style, but people don’t tend to take too much of a risk.”
The moral of the story? Jewellers who are able to find a balance between keeping up-to-date with customer preferences and staying true to the basics of wedding jewellery design are well placed for success.
THE BIGGER PICTURE What are some of the macro trends responsible for the popularity of these wedding themes? Even though most nuptials don’t stray too far from the traditional wedding format, the online environment is fuelling a shift away from cookie-cutter weddings towards personalised celebrations and, importantly, a desire to publish and share the finer details across both traditional and new media.
“What we find interesting is the emphasis on the wedding being more of a spectacle, more of a published event,” says Justin Linney, creative director at Linneys. “Each year, I’m finding more clients have the option to share photos with different blogs and magazines, which puts a bit more pressure on the theming. That’s why there’s been a bit of an explosion in wedding theming and that emphasis on creating a unique event.”
Although it may seem like the emphasis on publicising weddings and the ubiquitous wedding hashtag are driving couples towards larger guest lists, Christine Ligthart, director of education at the Australian Academy of Wedding and Event Planning and founder of the I Do Crew, says it’s quite the opposite.
“It’s not unusual for me to be asked about a wedding that’s only 55 to 60 people,” Ligthart explains. “People feel confident not to ask everybody to their wedding, so they’re able to have the wedding they want that pays a lot more attention to detail – beautiful florals, tables that are intricately laid with lovely elements that match the theme, and a menu designed by a chef.”
Significantly, George Bakoulas, general manager of the Australian Diamond Company in Melbourne, says the push for smaller weddings and greater attention to detail is encouraging couples to increase their spend on jewellery.
“I’m seeing a trend of people having smaller, more intimate weddings and spending a little bit more on the engagement ring,” he says. “There’s a direct correlation with increasing carat weights and sizes.
“So they’re getting a little bit more substantial with the engagement ring because they’ve recognised once the wedding day is done the only thing they’re left with is their rings and each other.”

Wedding Gift Ideas and Themes
Wedding Season is approaching
Who doesn’t love a Wedding! So, with Wedding Season fast approaching I thought it was time for a blog post on Wedding Gift Ideas and Themes.
As a jeweler I am often asked for suggestions for bridesmaid’s gifts. Just the other day I was asked for ideas for adult bridesmaids. My suggestion was to give them all a mini locket inscribed with their initial. Each one could contain the word ‘Love” and an old photo of the bride and the bridesmaid inside to represent their friendship and as a reminder of their role in the wedding day. I think this is a simple keepsake that is also very sentimental.
My wedding and the Jewellery I chose
It got me thinking about my wedding too and the jewellery I chose. Love Birds was the theme. My chosen colours were Silver and Fuchsia Pink.
For the bridesmaid’s gifts, I gave my sister a bird necklace and matching bracelet, this was set with a bright pink sapphire in the centre, which matched her dress and the wedding colours. I then gave my friends the bird stud earrings and made the groomsmen cufflinks with pink sapphire set into them. These were of course all made by myself!
Some Wedding Ideas
Below are 3 mood boards on themes that I love, I hope you like them too:
Love Bird Theme Wedding
The first one is based around my Love Bird themed wedding. I chose this theme as I really love the streamlined look of these birds and the romantic nature of them. I also felt that it fitted with the romantic nature of our wedding and how we felt about each other.
The Jewellery pictured was inspired by my big day and is now part of my collection.
My friend made the delicious love bird biscuits. I’m very lucky to have such a talented a baker friend check her out here: Makerybakery). The sleek white bird cake toppers, were made by my husband.
We had a lovely board with a quote on it, (similar to the one pictured) which helped tie the whole wedding together and incorporated my love of collecting quotes!
Beautiful and individual decorations are widely available so you can add colour and texture to your desired scheme, with ease and effectiveness. I particularly like, these circular fans pictured above, they add a touch of elegance and have an echo of bird styling in them.
Being creative I handmade all my invites, but the gorgeous paper cut silhouette Invites, above, are by Humming Bird Cards:
Moon and Stars themed wedding
The Moon and the Stars theme is rising in popularity. The mood boardis inspired by the Quote ‘I love you to the Moon and Back’ from the ‘Guess how much I love you’ books by Sam McBratney. But also by the romance of being under a starlit sky and making wishes on shooting stars. This would make a great winter wedding theme.
I think Royal blue is a striking colour and teemed with coppers and gold’s it can really have a magical effect.
Light is key in this theme. I love the magical jars of lights These really look stunning and can be used again in the future. The metallic copper hanging garland also creates a beautiful effect, and keeps the theme strong.
If you have someone who can make a great cake, then why not get a super cake topper in your chosen colour to bring the theme together.
Jewellery of course is key. I love this star headband, it creates a simple look that ties in with the theme without being tacky.
My large locket containing the quote ‘I love you to the moon and back,’ would make a great gift for any bride. Tying in perfectly with the theme, and making the memories stay with her for long after. Giving them a wonderful keepsake that not only ties in with their day but is also a fabulous reminder that they can wear close to their heart would make any girl happy. Equally it would make a great thank you gift for the Mother of the Bride too.
Not forgetting the men, why not choose one of our Leather and Silver charm bracelets, for the groom. The phrase ‘I love you to the moon and back’ could be added, this would look great on the day and could be worn as a reminder for years to come. Our range of cufflinks is also perfect for the groomsmen!
Butterfly Themed Wedding Ideas
Who doesn’t love Butterflies? This is a very popular theme, due to its femininity and delicate nature and is perfect for Spring and Summer, particularly as Flowers and Butterflies go hand in hand.
The world is also your oyster when it comes to a colour scheme, from bright exotic colours, to soft subtle pastels. Why not choose Peonies? They are such a beautiful flower, and at their best in May.
As an aside, I have a friend who scheduled her wedding just so that she could have peonies! I don’t blame her they are exquisite. With her in mind I have chosen to go pastel shades for this moodboard!
For table decorations, I love the idea of decorating the tables using a combination of fairy lights, candles and flowers. I also think being able to use things again, helps ease worries about costs, these tea light holders make perfect decorations and could double as favours for guests.
Who doesn’t love shoes? And what better day is there to splash out on a beautiful pair like these by Louboutin. Gorgeous for the wedding day, but also can be worn again and again with other outfits.
The gorgeous flower girl image is from Craig Paulson photography. But if you want beautiful butterfly flower girl dresses why not look at these stunning ones from Monsoon, they make me want to get married again so I can dress my daughter up!
To keep the butterfly theme running and to give gorgeous gifts that will last much longer than the day. Why not give my small Butterfly pendant to the bridesmaids. This is ideal as it suits all ages, from small flower girls to adults. It can then we cherished and worn many times again. For The Mother of the Bride, our large triple pendant would make the perfect Thank you.
Often wedding dresses have unusual and beautiful necklines so make it difficult to wear necklaces. So the bride could wear the dramatic butterfly cuff and teem it with the butterfly studs for a unique and pretty look.
I hope this helped with your wedding Gift ideas and Themes.
I hope these have given you some ideas for wedding themes.
