If Sabre met his childhood self (around the time he started being trained) he'd probably be sick to the stomach. Even though he can be pretty ruthless when ordered to and blocked away the memories of that time, he is very resistant on hurting children. If he had to face what his child self was put through he'd freak out a bit. He likes to remember it wasn't that bad, that training was just fine and sure, he didn't like it, but who likes training or doing homework am I right? Hahaha. Yeah he wouldn't be able to say much. I think.

If Kaiki met his childhood self back from the early stages of his parents' divorce, he'd feel a bit weird. He wouldn't really know what to say. That no, they don't end up back together? That he's just clinging to a false hope? He doesn't even know what could make it better, what he'd have wanted to hear, back then. Maybe a "hang on" or a purposefully vague "it will stop feeling so bad one day". Or that it's not the end of the world. Although maybe he'd back down from the latter. He remembers it used to feel just like that.

If Kaiki met himself a few years later, though? Through his relationship with Mali, or god forbid, Lois?

Oh no! How did Deer Mansion Collector get his burn scars? Was it an accident? Or did Belos do it…? Or are those spoilers? Do the scars hurt still? Does he have a fear of certain things (fire, hot water, the sensation of heat etc) due to trauma from it, or is it all blocked off? Oh!! What is your favourite part about this AU so far?

The backstory to the scars itself are a spoiler [possible comic coming soon?] but just to answer your questions!!

Collector's scars in The Deer Mansion AU occurred before his arrival in the Boiling Isles, and it actually had to do with the fight he had with his siblings (which would be the archivists!), they've been there since he was a young child :P The event that caused them is very blurry to him, but he has a fear of fire if that gives any ideas

AS FOR FAVORITE PART, it still isn't fully planned out but i love love LOVEEE planning the designs, I only got Belos + Collector (working on Hunter's) but its so fun tbh ^_^

the halloween and christmas events... especially getting to freak out kylar at halloween. and as much as i love getting kylar and sydney to kiss i think my fave variation of the winter play scene is the one where kylar tries to stab sydney onstage

that scene with whitney at the fountain where you go "stealing from a fountain is low even for you" and she repeats it back all mocking but still puts the coins back... so funny to me. and very canon yarawhit

as far as surviving in doltown goes, one of yara's biggest boons AND banes is her conditional shamelessness and lack of boundaries. she'll hardly bat an eye at getting groped on the bus or molested in the classroom. she's hardly in her body at all when that shit happens anyway. her body is just a thing.

whitney wants to see her panties and yara lifts up her skirt. a classmate tells yara she should kiss robin and she does. someone flirts with her and she flirts back. it's easier to go along with it, to not let it bother you- saves a lot of distress! (ofc it depends on her mood, too, she's prone to violent outbursts- she's inconsistent and unpredictable with seemingly ever-shifting lines in the sand...) her only HARD line is when it comes to her vaginal virginity, which she'll go totally rabid to protect.

ofc this gets her in trouble. wym she's gonna flaunt her shit and lead people on and then turn them down when they wanna hit? ummm well she's actually a loyal gf and has holy vows to uphold, thank you. this often leads to people getting violent with her. whoops.

Ohhh man it's been a while since I played. but for sure.

Weapons - Heaven's Gate is iconic I'm glad it's stayed in every game. I also enjoy its mirror Devil's Sunrise because of that.

Equips - My enjoyment of this wizard outfit became a running joke between me and Tidal. Lance isn't allowed to look cute, he sucks! Then against my will I got obsessed with him and made a massive (still WIP) fanfiction lmao

Skills - I remember Judgement INCINERATING absolutely everything back in EBF4. Just this one big shot of LIGHT that DESTROYS absolutely everything it appears under. The sound effects with the slightly delayed visuals gives a feeling of anticipation. It's so fun to use lol

(mostly b/c i don't want to say parker twice /lh) i hateee the fanon version of him (sorry) but everything about his relationship to religion, then his understanding of that/the world literally being shattered in a heartbeat and his reaction to that, tendency for devotion, older brother instinct & thus protection to the point of violence, etc is just. close to home :]

parker!!!!!! :D is it obvious lol but yeah, i too understand what being doomed by the narrative is like /lh. i think it's a bit funny to say this about a character with no "literal" presence in the story, but i relate a lot to, naturally, his approach to his work/interest in solving crimes, the intensity of his relationship with arthur, and his initial position of sort of bothering someone to make a friend lol? (i could say more regarding my interpretation of his character lol BUT i wanted it to be like. mostly canon)

JAMES MALEVOLENT oh my god. he was so fucking right about arthur's situation with bella but arthur cut him out of his life solely because he didn't want to hear the truth. having friendships that are (presumably) very important in your life/growth end because people want you to look at everything through rose-colored lenses vs being honest sucks. at least he's safe from the eldritch horrors, though.
