I’ve been a fan of all of your fics for a while now and All In just scratched my brain in ways I didn’t know fics could. The uneasy atmosphere in the first half was so well executed that I kept on wanting to reach out to Aya for help (I might have crushed on her and wished the reader had just skipped off into the sunset with her instead) and the way the Shiratorizawa trio straddled the line between socially acceptable but weird and downright creepy at the stadium was perfectly balanced. I was slightly suspicious that this would be a ‘beta reader discovers she’s an omega’ fic but honestly the twist was ten times better than what I predicted, and the way you disguised Ushijima’s reaction to scenting Aya on the reader was masterclass.

I’ve been obsessed with all the behind the scenes information you’ve been posting on your blog and wanted to ask a few more questions. First, what scents do you think Ushijima, Semi, and Tendou would give off? Does the reader have a preference, and if so do any of them calm her down or do they just give her relentless anxiety? Of the three would you say that Semi is the most inclined to be the leader with how conniving he is? And lastly, when Tendou gifted the chocolates what did he mean by “I had a feeling, I went with it”?

vghfdjkhfjdks in no way was i going to write a surprise omega for my beta fic, i would've been hunted for sport. also it takes half the fun out of it – don't get me wrong, i love it for the whole 'sudden, unexpected heat, oh shit' thing, but this fic wasn't about that.

anyway, onto the questions.

tendou's scent's described in the fic as cherrywood, that sort of sweet, cherry intensity with a woodsy base. semi's got more of an amber-vanilla scent going on, which takes on a warm, smokey edge. ushijima's scent is clean and masculine, musk and cedar. the kind you just wanna bury your face in and inhale. those alphas smell good, and she hates that they do have an effect on her. i wouldn't call it drugging, but after a few hours of being smothered in their scents, it's harder to think clearly. they definitely take advantage of it.

from the perspective of the fic it might seem like semi's the one calling the shots, but it's a little more complex than that. being the biggest, the strongest, the most dominant, ushijima falls easily into the position of pack alpha. if he hadn't wanted the beta in their pack, she wouldn't have been. that wouldn't have stopped semi from going after her, it just would've meant he kept all her for himself, separate from the pack.

semi might've been the one to convince him that going after the omega was the right bet, but ultimately he was the one to green light it, and when it became abundantly clear he wouldn't tolerate aya's close proximity towards their beta, that was the end of it.

as far as tendou's comment goes, it's about the chocolates themselves, and her scent. he took a gamble when he made the chocolates specifically to give to her – caramel with sea salt. it was a guess that they'd complement her, and it paid off because he was right.

And yess Idk why, I love the bleeding effect, its one of my fav parts of Desmonds story n tropes. I just think there is a lot of missed opurtunity for tropes, jokes, misunderstanding and good ol fandom crack.

Ik most of the fandom likes to ,to put it nicely, coddle Desmond bc my man needs rest but I like my men traumatized, boredline insane and one thing away from a total breakdown. I think bleeding effect adds like frosting on a cake 😌👌🏻

Things like:

Desmond not knowing if some of the crowd he sees in rennisance italy is real or his bleeding effect bc its so familiar.

Desmond getting info from a merchant only to realize its a bleed right after or running from non real guards.

Him getting modern day bleeds like seeing seeing Shaun or Becca randomly at a desk.

Him having to ask Ezio what year it is bc sometimes he sees him w out or with a beard.

Him randomly missing and not knowing how he got where he did

Him getting confused why the "memory" isnt fastforwarding forgetting he isnt in animus

Now that I wished you all the best with my previous ask... Saint you're absolutely breaking my heart with sy!! The last sneak peak gave me a heart attack, and I can't wait for sy10 to see what gojo and akemi are up to. In sn, after mc told him he's in love with the idea of her,gojo said that he couldn't have a family/get married with anyone else that wasn't mc. Just break my heart to think he may have his new family/marriage with akemi😭😭

Mc is breaking down, but I hope this can bring them closer. if mc could just be honest with both herself and gojo. Which of your characters has your favorite symbolism. I love symbolism in characters pls tell meee

OKAY OKAY SO my absolute favourite symbolism in any of my characters is Siri's water/ocean symbolism!!! It's a running thing in her story that most of her important moments concern smt water-related, such as her first child - lil Niv - being born on the ocean and then being lost to that same ocean, her whole storyline with Ludvig has a water-connection, plus, water is a pretty important thing in her job as a midwife/healer.

Water is a symbol for her personality as well. Siri is a very calm and sweet character, gentle as water is to wounds and soft as a stream. However, the turmoil both the Ludvig and the Niv events and her marriage have given her reveal the deep emotions that crash out of her like the sea crashes on shore.

You could basically call her a rip current, smooth on the outside, a strong pull on the inside, which is what makes her such a complex character with such different aspects to her - just as water has a lot of aspects to it.

they're not attracted to her because she's a beta, but i don't think they're particularly bothered by it either.

semi, sadistic little fucker that he is, likes that she struggles to take a knot, gets all teary eyed and tries to squirm away from it, and tendou's not even gonna pretend the idea of having to bite her over and over to reassert their claim doesn't send shivers down his spine. he won't wait for them to fade, layering bite marks all over her pretty skin – just in case!

and ushijima, well, for him it just doesn't matter. she's his mate, whether she's a beta or an omega is meaningless beyond that. she's already proven she can take his knot, next time he will be more gentle. he can be patient with opening her up and preparing her. probably.

Do you think gil could be a good father?

Definitely! He's already proven to be good with kids, and there's the fact he's able to act like a mentor to Tine. Though, I think it also depends on the context of him having kids. For Ur-Nungal for instance, Gil has very high expectations to how a king of Uruk should behave. He already is veeery strict with how he allows himself to act, so I feel like if he was raising his son as the future of Uruk he'd be a little more strict than if he was, idk, raising a kid after being incarnated in Fuyuki. He definitely wouldn't be a cruel or bad father or anything, but just be more stern with him sometimes, firmly establishing on how a king should behave. But then he'd still also be affectionate and really proud of his kid, and be a silly dad bc Gil really is just a silly guy.

wait i'm actually... ksjdksad i don't like talking about someone like that, but i do need to vent, if that's okay? jkdshkasf i've been bottling it up and only talked about it properly to my mom and dad :'')

the first few weeks, he was really sweet? like he'd buy me gifts and compliment me and tell me how much he admired my personality. i think he's not a bad person per se, but he's extremely old-fashioned and narrow-minded.

i saw the first red flag when he called me and ended up speaking about marriage. which is okay, you know. like, i'm alright with being open right from the beginning. but that convo brought in a few very strange happenings in the following few weeks, which included but aren't limited to

him asking, "you're not one of those girls who'd wanna wait for years after marriage before having children, right?".. i tell him, well yes, i am. do you want kids right away or? and he says.. "9 months isn't right away." ok.

him saying he's too lazy to clean his apartment, and "how about i pick you up, bring you here, go away for the weekend and when i come back, you'll have it all cleaned!"

him offending my entire occupation that i studied for for years, because he had a bad experience with people in that department. i understand, but i did tell him not all of us are the same, and he said "idc, they don't deserve any respect", which essentially means that i don't either.

him looking at me weird when i said that tom holland's lip sync battle is one of my all-time-favourite videos on yt and then telling me, "but it's gay af." and just generally not being a fan of the lgbtiqa+ community.

him saying that once he's a dad, he'll be strict and not allow his kids to do anything. he just? talked about having kids a lot? even told me, when i almost choked on smoking hot food, "don't die, i still need like 3 kids from you"

and what made me abandon him for good: i asked him why he's always so excited about marriage, which is okay, but just wanna know! he says people usually want to get married bc they love their partner, but idk why... for me it's cos i want kids. in that case, i noticed he wasn't there for me, but just bc i'm fertile (or so i hope)

that day, i said he should want a girl for more than that. he said, "i know, after all you're not a child factory". i tell him yup that's right... and he proceeds to joke, as he called all his offensive shit, "but you could be." and that's where i bid him goodbye.

there goes. i was in a strange mood after that? i think i even dipped from tumblr for a moment. my parents were a bit worried, but then i realised that i felt a lot better without him. god i'm not ready for relationships lmao, but i won't fight love. when it happens, it happens... so fingers crossed for something better <3

Chloe: Ohhh she would pick thief no question about it. She would see the opportunity for the most ‘little-shit class to pair with a little-shit backstory’ and THRIVE

Chronos: Chronos would probably pick mage (it’s the only thing he knows) or necromancer! He already finds it fascinating enough in DAI itself but in an RPG? He’d love all the lore so much

Da’revas: Druid!!! He loves nature!!!! He wants to turn into a silly creature!!!!!!

Sigrid: Oh she’d also pick necromancer no doubt. Her special interest unfortunately is death and everything around it- BUT she would also love to pick something like Monk or Druid. Those classes radiate such peacefulness to her that she would really yearn for even if only in a pen and paper RPG

Chloe: No they’d give her headaches <3 staring at a screen too long would give her headaches (<- woman who refuses to get glasses and then sits way too close to her screen)

Da’revas: He would not like video games to be honest, he’s a board game fella you know, he can’t be video-gaming, he’s frolicking in the grass

Sigrid: She’d love old video games, like from the 80s-90s, like: The Legend of Zelda 1986, the original Fallout games, Prince of Persia, Street Fighter II and Super Mario 64. She loves old shit

Chloe: She knows how to cook, but not spectacularly or anything like that. It would be edible, and some things she can definitely make well- but most things are like “This is okay”. Once Bela moves in semi-permanently into Hawke’s estate they cook together, which makes Chloe think she’s a master chef “LOOK at me cooking for my GIRLFRIEND”

Chronos: He’d be a good cook definitely, he learnt baking from his dad when he was a kid and cooking from both his moms. He definitely enjoys it too- whenever he gets the chance he helps around in Skyhold’s kitchen

Da’revas: Noooopeeee. He can’t cook. He’s good at GETTING food (i.e. hunting), he knows which stalls in the market have the best foods for the best price- DONT ask him to cook it he will BURN everything

Sigrid: Can’t really cook too bad but not well either? She’s never been taught, she didn’t live with her adoptive family (before bhaal) long enough to learn. And when she was in the temple of bhaal she didn’t really… cook much (Because of the cannibalism). When she’s out on the road with the others Gale and Will try to teach her how to cook- so now she’s certified “Okay at cooking”

Chloe: Oh EASY. Her favourite (not blood magic related) knife, her mabari and her journal <3

Chronos: NOT easy. I think he’d keep his hair brush, the compass he got from his parents and gloves he and Iron Bull made together once (for combat reasons only. No gay reasons at all.)

Da’revas: Necklace he got from Merrill and Tamlen, the ring Morri got him aaaaand because he’s a sap a drawing Kieran had made once (one of those ‘my family’ drawings most kids make at five years old)

Sigrid: Ohhh tough one too actually. I think Sig would keep her weapons (practical), a locket with a strand of Karlach’s hair in it (she’s also a sap) and probably the owlbear cub (that’s her emotional support creature)
