OKAY SO I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT TWP and like

I just envisioned this big ass poster in Thule

Kit Ty and Dru in the middle, and all the main characters / side characters who are alive from TMI TID TDA by their side and the old title from GOTSM Ghost of old loves could add all of the TLH gang as ghosts along side TID gang as ghosts

And then on the other side of the poster we will have all the greater demons side by side and on top of them we will have remnants of the villains that the characters faced from each series

Alexei De Quincy / Nathaniel Gray / Clockwork demon army / Mortmain / Dark Sisters

TLH villains - Tatiana Blackthorn maybe and others we haven’t met

TMI - Seelie Queen / Sebastian / Valentine / Endarkened

And I know that this poster I’ve envisioned will be not fully canon😂 unless Cassie does have all the greater demons fight against the shadowhunters bc it would look so cool

I’ve loved your theories for TLH & TDA so much! I heard a random qoaad one of my own and I kinda buy it it’s that Julian looses his eye in qoaad LOL it’s because Cassandra Jean has done most Julian art with either his hand or his hair covering his left eye. Also in a official jemma poster his left eye is literally just a black hole. This would not be the first time cassie approved art has foreshadowed something to come! If u have any Julian theories do tell!

Anon is right that Julian is frequently pictured with one of his eyes concealed, as shown in his flower card below:

You know who else is covering his eye in his flower card? Julian’s ancestor, JESSE BLACKTHORN.

In Lord of Shadows, Kit, Ty, and Livvy found the aletheia crystal at Blackthorn Manor inside a statue of Homer. The crystal was located in one of the statue’s eye sockets, and Ty had to stab the plaster to retrieve it. Homer was blind, and some Blackthorn ancestor must have known that and hidden the crystal there on purpose. 

What if blindness if another one of the motifs that links TDA and TLH, particularly within the Blackthorn family? In literature, blind characters are often able to, ironically, “see” more than other characters; they often obtain some form of spiritual or mental enlightenment, which enables them to comprehend more than those around them, despite not being able to physically see. On the flip side, blindness can also represent obliviousness and lack of clarity in other aspects of one’s life (like Assef in The Kite Runner!)

I think you’re definitely on to something about Julian, Anon! It would be so upsetting if Julian lost an eye (hopefully it wouldn’t affect his art too much!), but I can see how it could symbolize a blindness he possess to those around him who are not his family. Julian doesn’t care how his actions impact others, as long as his family is safe. Like Kieran said, Julian has a “ruthless heart,” and he said the “whole world could burn” as long as his family was safe, right? 

(I’m sorry, Jules, I love ya, but you really don’t ever see the line, do you?)

The interesting part of this is how Jesse comes into play. Stay tuned, because I might be able to come up with some more theories about this…
