DAY 5: favourite arc — Mulder's search for Samantha

It’s really funny we never know what happened between Never Again and Momento Mori. It’s so jarring the way the MSR scenes play out. One minute they’re in a silent stand off in their office, the next Mulder is bringing her flowers in the oncology ward and her face lights up when Scully sees him.

What was the conversation in between?!? The crazy thing with them that it is remotely possible that no conversation happened and all Scully had to do was say ‘can you meet me at the oncology ward’ and Mulder would drop everything and come; no questions asked and flowers in hand. I don’t know if that’s sweeter or not, but together they always seem more than the sum of their parts.

Saame 🫶🏻 I would love a whole season of realizations and mutual pining and getting closer... as long as it's actually happening AND they get renewed. Not sure we can call it 'rushing' after 8 seasons but I'd also be sad if they started it and then we'd never got to see them as a couple. Cause I'd watch 10 seasons of that too (no @ tim minear, it's not boring!!)

maybe im being delusional but i really don't think we have to be worried about the show getting cancelled!! and i definitely think it could be called rushing even after all this time if everything happened in one episode à la bi buck. which for that arc it felt really fitting for him to have a sudden clueless kiss, but for buddie canon i think it'd be better to stretch (heh) it out a bit 💗 for selfish reasons (i'm a whore for yearning) but also because ultimately it's such a fragile thing, not only because eddie's potential sexuality arc alone will need a little more time and care-- yes buddie are solid and practically married already, but there's potential for great and compelling narrative conflict that will make the 'real' getting-together even more satisfying.

just started watching txf (on s1e6 or e7 i believe?) and i'm already so jazzed about it!! anyway 36 for the ask game :)

So exciting! You're in for a treat. Season 2 is sooooo good, and obviously they're already absolutely insane in season 1. I was watching entire seasons in 2 days sometimes a year ago when I first watched it (not healthy 😅). There's a reason I waited until I graduated to start the show. I knew it would suck me in hard-core.

My fic will definitely have spoilers for later seasons, but here's a spoiler-free snippet from section 36!

Mulder has been a saint ever since they got here—ever since they began this process, really.
