TXF 1x3 Rewatch
God, the lighting really sucks.
EEP! THAT SEWER......AAAHHHH HIS EYES....I'm creeped out already!!
You know, I forgot about Mark Snow. Music guy for X-Files. He is a master and a genius when it came to this show and really making you feel each moment vividly. The sounds, the effects, the music....what is he up to these days?
Ahh, the theme song. How I've missed that.
Ew. Quantico buddy. Douche. I forgot about him. Yeah Scully, defending your partner.
"Won't have to be Mrs. Spooky." STEP OFF DOUCHE.
"Do you think I'm spooky?" Quality eye sex.
MULDER'S SARCASTIC RANT GIVES ME LIFE!!!!! "Do you have any idea what livered onions go for on Reticulum?" AHAHAHA
Awww. Now, I don't know if it's the influence of fanfic that is coming through these thoughts, but I feel like he's been picked on his whole life, and especially by these Quantico brats, and he's always been a lonely type of guy, and uses humor as a defense mechanism. Why do I love broken men?????
Finds the print. BOOM! Large leaps of intuition. Spooky indeed. Could be he's a low level clairvoyant. (or that could be fanfic again.)
"We had it first" Good argument Mulder.
Scully's report. I love how even though she's highly dubious of Mulder's theories, she still follows through with the research and investigation thoroughly. RESPECT.
"If you don't mind working in an area that's a bit more down to earth." JACKASSES, ALL OF YOU. And Scully starts to see what it must have been like for Mulder. This is bullying, plain and simple.
Aaahhh...the stakeout makes me think of the other one with Tooms as a suspect. *le sigh*
"You were right." What a good man.
Those idiots refuse to look at anything that doesn't fit in their narrow world view. I mean, to be fair, it is pretty incredible, and I mean that in the not credible sense.
"I'm officially assigned to the X-Files." BOOOM!!! IN YO FACE DOUCHE
*GASP* the necklace grab. I totally forgot about that. That kinda reminds me of when Felicity jabbed her fingers into Oliver's chest and he looked down, like...whu?
"You may not always agree with me, but you respect the journey." Their partnership in a nutshell. Well, one of many.
"I don't know, you've got to have more than just the polygraph..." Mm-hmm. You know you're into that, Scully, there's more than just scientific curiosity going on.
The way Mulder gets to Scully is through evidence. Already she's grounding him, keeping him honest. *sigh*
Multitasking through the creepy scenes cuz I'm home by myself and...it's creepy.
OMG. Microfiche. ahahahah
"The next time will be.." "2023." "You're gonna be head of the bureau by then." HOLY SHIT. HOOOLLYY SHHIIITTT. I never caught that before!!! Wow. Building her up, believing in her capabilities...cheering her on in a "man's" world...GOD I FRICKIN LOVE HIM.
Wait a minute, it just occurred to me that Scully answered "2023" pretty easily, like...yeah I'm totally going with you on this theory and not resisting the thought trail. RESPECT.
Ha! Another thought that occurred to me...Someone evil or twisted was born? Blame H!tler.
"Somebody having a garage sale?" Oh Mulder, you and your one liners.
Her necklace! Well, at least it's not the cross necklace.
CREEPY SCENE.
Look. I think I'm forever scarred by clawfoot tubs. This scene is creepy and she's drawing a bath in a clawfoot tub. I think Trinity killed the first woman in Dexter in a clawfoot tub. Just....ew.
"Scullaayy!" Ahhhh yissssss
Ah, deep pondering!Mulder. So many difference faces of this guy.
CREEPY MUSIC...DAMN YOU MARK SNOW....
*shiver* okay I think I need to watch something happy to get rid of the heebie jeebies from that ep.
Can't wait for the next one!!

Scu11y22's X-Files Rewatch
Episode 1x03: Squeeze.
What can I even say about this episode? Absolute classic. Such a great Minster of the Week, it really set the bar for the non-alien episodes throughout the series. It’s spooky, it’s creepy, at times it’s downright gross and I loved every minute of it. Even the backstory for the monster’s previous kills is great ( college girl found in her cinder block dorm room, liver ripped out, door and windows locked from the inside? Awesome).
And the soundtrack! Correct me if I’m wrong (I didn’t notice it in the first 2 eps), but I think this episode is the first use of what I think of as txf’s “creepy-crawly theme.” You know, that bit if music they play when he’s squeezing through the air vents? The one that sounds like creeping bugs? To this day I hear that music and I freak out a bit, like “oh god! Eew eew EEEW!!!” And I love it, especially because it’s not over the top scary, just super creepy in an everyday, relatable, but not quite run-of-the-mill kind of way.
And I love how in this episode Mulder and Scully are already protective and territorial over each other and their work together. And I really like how Scully can call Mulder crazy, to his face, but god help anyone else who might think he’s a bit off. And I liked how when she was presenting her theory to the other agents it was like she had taken Mulder’s theory and just translated it to make it more acceptable to the other agents.
Yeay for Mrs Spooky.
Plus, I think when I was younger the whole thing about the little grey men and liver kind of went over my head, but now that I’m older and it’s obvious that Mulder is just messing with the guy (in a “you think I’m nuts? Fine, I’ll give you nuts. Fuck you” kind of way) I now find that whole conversation hilarious and I’m like “yes! Good for you!” And then I was pleased to note that Scully knew exactly what he was doing in that scene and I just find that sweet and it gives me MSR feels.

Scu11y22's The X-Files Rewatch
scu11y22 fantastical X-Files Rewatch TXF 1x3 Squeeze I thoroughly enjoyed watching Squeeze again. What can I say other than its a CLASSIC Monster of the Week episode written by our beloved Wong & Morgan. Absolute classic. The words Spooky and Creepy are used a lot in the episode, but damn if it didn't describe it as well. From the eerie music, dark lighting, Tooms' yellow eyes and small, small spaces set up a fantastic atmosphere. Just the image of the metal screws twisting.....gives me goosebumps. Donal Logue (Gotham) always plays a great irritating kinda guy. I really enjoyed watching Scully interact with other people from her pre-Mulder life. As the third episode in the first season it was great to see some of Mulder and Scully's individual backstories. We meet Scully's friend from Quantico and through Scully we get a glimpse at how Mulder is perceived and quite frankly, harassed. The audience and Scully are given insight into Mulder's reputation and cruel treatment and thus reasons to feel protective of Mulder. I just wanted to hug him as he told Scully how, hell yes, he's TERRITORIAL towards her. OMG, his reaching out to run his finger down her necklace. Sexual tension anyone else??? I need to fan myself for a second. lol And we wonder why Mulder is such a smart ass. He's had to build up this heart of steel against other's ignorance and hostility towards his beliefs. Here are some of my favorite moments and comments... Mrs. Spooky Mulder has a reputation Little "Grey"men 5 murders every 30 years - profile: no alien involvement. TERRITORIAL!! It's all about the journey...the journey. Scully's anti-Walton theory. Shoulders touching over microfiche (God, remember microfiche? lol). Bile...how do I Keep my Cool exterior. Scuuullly Her hand touching and it's slow slide down Mulder's arm at the end of the episode. *sigh* Their comfort level with each other by this third case is so lovely.

i find it adorable that almost immediately into their working partnership, scully begins defending mulder when other people express similar skepticism as her own towards him…
only SHE can call him crazy!!!
#this early on it would be very easy for scully to take her classmate’s side and talk badly about mulder#but she refuses! she respects him too much to let him get a dig in on him… it’s cute…#txf#msr#the x files#season 1#1x3
