More Yuu Headcanons

Here are some more TWST headcanons of our favorite little shrimpy prefect that I pulled from the depths of my mind which needed to be freed. This mainly builds off of my first Yuu hc, so take a look at that if you'd like!

Yuu humming/singing Two of Hearts if they’re in a relationship w/ Ace or just hanging out with him as a friend

Yuu refers to the cast as handsome as a casual fact and is surprised when most of them are confused/surprised/flustered by this 

“What? The guys in this school are handsome. That’s kinda just a fact.” 

Yuu being nostalgic on their Birthday 

Deuce: “I bet your family’s celebrating your birthday even if you’re not there.”

Yuu: (hopeful) “yeah. Or, who knows, this could be a whole Narnia situation and no time has passed there at all.”

Ace: “Narnia?”

Yuu: (somber) “oh, just some popular story back home. Maybe I’ll tell you guys some time.”

Ace and Deuce always wanting to hear about stories from Yuu’s home world but being too scared that it will make them sad 

Fem!Yuu being really excited to meet Deuce’s mom because they’ve been surrounded by  only guys at an all boys school for months 

Bonus: Dylla absolutely adores fem!Yuu and is more than willing to help fashion some more feminine clothing for Yuu if they ever wanted.

Bonus +1: fem!Yuu wanting to meet the cast’s moms and sisters whenever the boys mention them.

Bonus +2: All the boys’ families just accepting Yuu as their child regardless of whether they’ve met or not simply because of how often the boys talk about them 

Yuu getting really giddy and excited when they’re able to travel to a new place in twisted wonderland other than Sage’s Island (i.e. cast’s hometowns, etc.)

Yuu asking Crewel for help whenever/if they want to dye their hair 

Based on a voiceline, Crewel canonically bleaches half his hair white and maintains that to keep with his style (the dedication of that man is inspiring)

The moment Yuu realizes they’ve fallen too far down the rabbit hole and are now attached to everyone in twisted wonderland, meaning their leaving will hurt more and more with each passing day. 

The feeling of being incredibly torn between their previous life they were forced to abandon, years of work they had put in to reach the goals they wanted to accomplish, and the new friends, experiences, and opportunities before them in this new world. So they push the feeling down further with each day. Force themself to ignore the inevitable. 

They don’t want to think about the idea of who will take care of Grim when they’re gone? Or how Ace will get his assignments done if they’re not there to force him to do it. Or or who will calm deuce down enough before he gets into a fight and ruins his goal of being a perfect honor student? 

Who will be there if someone else overblots?

This one I kinda stole from Private Thoughts of a Moray Eel by @mochinomnoms, but I love the idea of Yuu, Ace, and Deuce being so close and completely comfortable with each other. I mean, they’ve gone through literal life or death situations together from the start, so it makes sense that they would be closer than most. 

But not just the closeness we see in game with them being a main friend group who always hangs out. But close physically, in the sense that there are few boundaries left between the three. 

For a few examples, I like the idea that the three will commonly be seen cuddling together or leaning on one another when they’re lounging in the courtyard or around Heartslabyul/Ramshackle. 

Ace often times has his arm around the shoulders of Yuu or Deuce. Sometimes leaning in to whisper something stupid or gossipy in their ear. 

Yuu has taken to giving the Adeuce duo kisses on their foreheads and cheeks as thanks or as a goodbye when they head back to Ramshackle with Grim. 

Deuce grew a habit of holding Yuu or Ace’s hand when he gets ticked off by some oaf he wants to punch. The two will respond by giving his hand a squeeze or rubbing a comforting thumb across the back of his hand. It’s a silent thing, no one outright acknowledges it, because it’s become such a common practice for the three. 

Another habit Deuce has developed is that he’ll face-plant directly into the lap of whoever is sitting down after a long day. The first time he did it, it was Yuu’s lap and it spooked them so much they accidentally threw their phone at Ace’s face. Deuce felt horrible after that, but after some reassurance, he started doing it more often. Albet, making sure the landing was softer than the first time. 

In response to Deuce planting his face on their thighs, Ace and Yuu both took to immediately playing with his hair and massaging his scalp with their free hand. 

Yuu’s way of asking for comfort when they're stressed or scared (which they will always refuse to admit, they swear, they just need them as a human shield! It’s just for defense!) is by hugging one of the two around their torso and ducking their head into the crook of their neck to hide their face. Most times, the hug from the back so whoever they’re hugging can’t see what they’re feeling. But they of course still love hugging from the front because the two will always respond by immediately wrapping their arms around Yuu and rubbing their back. 

Because of this slightly abnormal friendship, (I failed to describe the abnormal part here but I can always write more) there have of course been some rumors started about them being in a romantic relationship. Are they polygamous? Are Ace and Deuce fighting over Yuu in an epic and dramatic love triangle? Is Yuu playing both of the boys? Are there hidden feelings between the three they all refuse to talk about? 

While most of the school and some of their friends wonder this, the trio completely ignores it. As if the rumors don’t exist at all. When asked about their relationship or if anything being said is true, all three of them look at each other, shrug, and say completely different things. 

Jack: So, are you guys in a relationship?  Epel: Yeah, you’re all awfully close for just friends.  Sebek: Please, the details of their relationship have nothing to do with us! But if you three are romantically involved in a relationship with each other then I will support you entirely as long as it does not affect my lord.  Ortho: Well, let’s hear them out first, are you three dating each other?  Ace, Deuce, and Yuu: *tangled in a cuddle pile on Ramshackle’s couch with Grim asleep on the arm of the couch next to them* [simultaneously] Ace: Maybe. Deuce: No? why? Yuu: Only on Tuesdays. 

The main part taken from Private Thoughts of a Moray Eel is the idea where Ace and Yuu visit Deuce’s home one summer and Deuce’s mom Dylla immediately believes the three are an adorable couple. 

Regardless of whether they are, aren’t, or are secretly pining, Dylla would decide in that moment that she had two new children she would die for. (Whether through adoption or as an in-law, should secretly hopes she can have Yuu as her child) 

AdeuceYuu is probably my favorite ship in all of Twst but this concept of them being physically affectionate and comfortable with each other transcends simply being a romantic headcanon and something I personally believe to be true as platonic and any other relationship dynamic you can imagine. Because let’s be honest, all three of them need comfort from others after going through so many overblots. And who better to comfort you than the ones who stood beside you through most of those experiences.  

Yuu being seen by the cast as a very passive and soft-spoken individual who couldn’t hurt a fly even if they tried. Only, the projected image of the protag they’ve come to accept is shattered when they witness Yuu tearing a random student a new one after said student had pushed them over the edge after a very stressful day. (Separate HC post for that concept coming soon) 

Yuu, who stood against beasts, overblots, and literal titans and gods, being too scared to ask for extra ketchup in Mostro Lounge. 

Additionally, Yuu who lives with a direbeast, being afraid of squirrels (don’t ask me why, this just feels correct, so we’re going with it)

The first idea that got me to start writing twst headcanons: Yuu having a very different way of speaking in Twisted Wonderland than they do back home. Because many of the references and slang they typically use in everyday speech doesn’t make sense to anyone but them in TW, they talk less and have a very plain way of speaking compared to most people their age. Here’s how I imagine this specific scenario goes:

When hanging out with Adeuce and Grim one day, Ace brings up (jokingly) how boring the prefect sounds when speaking. 

Yuu makes a comment about how they speak very differently from how they do back home.

This piques Ace and Deuce’s interest. 

While Deuce is more reluctant to ask, Ace begins asking questions and hounding Yuu for examples and for them to say things in ways they normally would. Deuce and Grim eventually join in on the barrage of questions. 

Finally, and a little hesitantly, Yuu decided to give them one day where they talk in the way they normally would back home. 

In this case, that means a lot of references, stupid internet jokes, and generational slang.

While the majority of it goes over the heads of Yuu’s friends, prompting more questions than it does answer, it’s still a day in which they see a whole new side of Yuu. One that’s evidently more relaxed and natural for the beloved prefect. 

It’s a confusing day for most, listening to Yuu speak as if they’ve lost their mind and started spewing nonsense, but it also became one of the highlights of the school year for the cast.

I have plenty more headcanons i can rip from the crevices of my mind, so if you would like to see more let me know! I love thinking of these silly little moments and dynamics and overall making the main character feel a little more real and personal for myself and hopefully others.

my speculation for twst x nightmare before christmas

My thoughts based on what I've observed based on summaries. I am bad at connecting my words to my thoughts and can only hope to telepathy-osmosis the thoughts to you after this. Everything is under the cut or else you'll have to do a ton of scrolling.

Part 1 from what I'm seeing in tweets before full translations and more story parts come out: The gang gets isekai'd because plot says they must and lose their shit over getting isekai'd (this isn't Yuu's first time getting isekai'd lmao). They meet Skully J Graves who might be really physically affectionate and is the odd one out in his town. They meet Jack Skellington, Zero, and Sally. Skully fanboys over Jack. Halloween is in 3 days, Jack has a problem where he wants to celebrate Halloween in a new way, Skully opts to help (ominous great Halloween sentence and all), Sally has a bad feeling, a town meeting is called.

Skully J Graves

Skully idolizes Jack Skellington and wants to show others Halloween by celebrating (possibly in his way) like how Jack wanted to show others Christmas by hijacking it. In Nightmare Before Christmas, the town also looks up to Jack but are oblivious to his feelings about Halloween (Jack's Lament), but Sally isn't.

Unlike Jack who is beloved in Halloweentown, Skully is alienated from his peers back in his town. His schoolmates don't share his interests so he brushes them off. Idia was already an SSR in Glorious Masquerade but if he were SSR here, he'd end up calling himself out for going "us vs them" (Idia vs normies) when it comes to "if we don't have the same interests, we have zero common ground and will never see eye to eye" during the climax. Malleus shares his interest in gargoyles with Yuu who unconditionally accepts and befriends him, and he was alienated because top 5 most powerful mages, status, and *insert book 7*. Jade likes mushrooms, Azul likes networking and going "helping you will be helpful for me", Riddle is a voice of reason (kind of), Trey handles Riddle's temper (Labwear vignette) and has a dentist thing, Epel and his dislike for being called cute, Vil takes feedback from Rook and can impose on others, Jamil has to put up with Kalim who was oblivious to his plight, Leona and Book 2. All that is just me connecting the NRC boys with either Skully or the plot and characters of Nightmare Before Christmas. Skully is a type of separate from the NRC boys, not being in NRC while everyone else is, greeting the gang via kiss, being very full of whimsy (let's hold hands and walk in the woods!), being the youngest (just turned 16 so he's baby), and looks up to Jack while the others don't know him at all. Yuu is alienated by being magicless in a magic school and being from another world but they grow less alienated as they make friends and accustom to being a student (part of your worlddddd). Too bad Rook isn't here. I want to see how Rook and Skully would interact. Rook, Cater, Kalim, and Lilia can't be in the event to make Skully even more alienated in the group.

Isekai and Escapism

The NRC gang get isekai'd and until the rest of the story comes out to confirm or deny, Skully may have been isekai'd too. One thing that came to mind is that there's a lot of isekai stories in anime/manga. There's a lot of escapism in anime and isekai is one of them. The protagonist could have a miserable life or a dream they want to achieve before they get yeeted into another world. What direction the isekai goes varies but they can go into wish-fulfillment, power fantasy, playing around with the concept of people getting thrown into another world, anything. The author/protagonist might project onto the setting. I don't want to make the paragraphs longer than necessary so I'll leave it at that.

There's western isekai (portal fantasy) like The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Narnia, Peter Pan, Infinity Train, The Owl House, or Amphibia. I haven't seen Infinity Train, Owl House, or Amphibia, but I know Infinity Train is the "you need therapy" isekai where even though they get to go home for a specific reason, time still passed and everything that happened still happened. No memory wipe, no dream, that person was missing for who-knows-how-long. From what I've picked up about Owl House, Luz is on a completely different wavelength from everyone, peers and adults. And something about wanting to be understood if I recall correctly? I know she comes off as neurodivergent to viewers (idk if she's confirmed to be ND) which is why this tangent about western isekai is here. In my head, there's a connection with Skully's character because alienation from others and having interests that others don't.

Anyway, escapism. Remember Skully's idolization for Jack and Halloween? Now throw in Jack's problem being an opening for Skully to indulge in his interest. Eliza from Ghost Marriage had a goal to marry a Prince Charming which is unrealistic while being inconsiderate of others (kicking out everyone on campus for her wedding, kidnapping Idia), Skully will likely do something selfish while carrying out his fantasy. How far that goes, we'll find out eventually. Will this event story have something to say about escapism in isekai? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Based on Nightmare Before Christmas

Film summary: Jack, a beloved figure of the town, is bored of the repetition in Halloween (Jack's Lament) so when he sees Christmas (What's This?), he is interested and wants to share that with others. He tries to explain it to the town and recreate/celebrate it despite not understanding the meaning behind the holiday (Town Meeting). Halloweentown is about harmless but fun frights ("that's our job but we're not mean, in our town of Halloween"), Christmas has to do with presents and wintry cheer. Sally tries to warn Jack that it won't work out but he disregards it. Jack hijacks Christmas by kidnapping and impersonating Santa, sends presents that bring scares instead of cheer which warrants him getting shot down. Jack reflects that he messed up (Poor Jack) but had one heck of a time ("And for a minute, why, I even touched the sky! And at least I left some stories they can tell") and sheds the Santa costume, returning to being himself ("That's right! I AM THE PUMPKIN KING!"). Jack saves Santa and Sally, Santa calls him out for his actions, Santa restores Christmas, Jack and Sally reach the romance stage. Jack is the anti-villain of the story and Oogie Boogie is there because Santa has to be held somewhere and having a worse villain would make Jack look less bad in comparison. Jack wanted to have fun, do something new! He was just oblivious and inconsiderate of others! (looks at Kalim) What is the moral of the story? What did Jack learn? Listen to others instead of getting overconfident, hear what they have to say, be open to feedback.

If the event story is going to be a rehash of the film's plot like the Stitch event recreating Stitch vs Gantu or how the Books recreate the films' plot beats, Skully will probably hijack the holiday into his image that doesn't see eye-to-eye with Halloweentown's version or comes at the cost of others. You've heard of "never meet your heroes" because their true self is not the exact same as their public persona, this case could go in the direction of "PARASOCIALLLL PARASOCIALLL YOU NEED TO LOG OFF" or some kind of compromise. The ending might have a "that was sick but NEVER do that again" moment.

I want Yuu to be active in this event, even as the "Sally" who tries to reach out to Skully and voice their concerns, but I know the SSRs will be given more focus so I'm half-expecting Yuu to get sidelined. Glorious Masquerade had an opportunity for Yuu, the immune one and foil to Rollo's hatred for magic, to be proactive and directly confront Rollo but got nerfed or else the story would be cut short. Also, Yuu is not an SSR (yeah the SSR gang can confront Rollo BUT LET YUU DO THAT TOO, THERE WAS A VERY INTERESTING DICHOTOMY BETWEEN THEM)

A funny Twisted Wonderland X Obey Me Prompt

It would be absolutely hilarious if the MC that came from the Devildom into Twisted Wonderland had magic and the ability to go home the whole time, they’re just fucking with everyone. 

I don’t know if anyone else does this, but when I don’t want to take the time to explain something to someone I just say “It’s magic.” or “I’m magic.” I can imagine MC doing that but with the excuse that they’re from another world.

Like,

Mc: *does magic but not in a way anyone recognizes as magic or isn’t blatantly obvious*

Twst character: How did you do that?

MC: I’m from another world.

Them: Ah.

It would just be so funny. Also, if they slowly start taking their friends to the Devildom for weekend trips but does it in such a way that it seems like they just happened upon the entrance and go there every now and again. Like if they created a portal to the Devildom in their closet, like they were in Narnia, and they go through and are in their room in the House of Lamentation.

Like, just one weekend,

MC: *comes into Ace and Deuces dorm room without knocking or announcing their presence previously*

MC: Pack a bag, don’t ask questions, I need to show you this amazing thing I found.

Ace and Deuce, slightly concerned: *try to ask questions but get shot down, pack their bags as quickly as possible*

MC: *drags them into their closet and through the portal to the House of Lamentation*

Ace or Deuce: Where, are we?

MC, lying their ass off: I’m not sure. I like to call it hell, just for fun.

It would also be very fun if MC got Ace and Deuce in on recruiting the other first years to come with them, though Sebek only goes once in a blue moon. And if Malleus goes, he gets his own separate trips so that the first years don’t get too scared of being both in hell surrounded by demons, and Malleus. 

Even funnier if you get the brothers in on it. Are they trapped in a time loop? Are they demons? Are they from the past? From the future? From an alternate dimension? 

Who knows?

Certainly not MC, who definitely did not orchestrate this whole thing just to bring the brothers closer together by pranking the hell out of their friends. Definitely not.

I made a gut-wrenching ayu(my yuu) x various, on the day before her departure back to her world. In the end, she still chooses her birth family because my yuu's biggest dilemma is her strong tie to her world. You can guess that the boys lashed out at her, calling her selfish for abandonding them and yada-yada, but she hit them back with "what about my parents? Has it occurred to you that they might be losing sleeps for not knowing where I am? Or if I'm well at all?? And what about my big brother? The guilt he must be feeling to fail his promise to look after me?"

It'll never see the light of the day though *sips coco*

I love concepts like this because I always have this EXTREMELY evil thought abt twst working with narnia or wonderland logic. like you wake up and no time has passed in your world at all. I would actually go insane if that happened

Wait oh my god. Imagine mc in the Narnia au meeting Floyd first at the lake and over the months before the portal opens they fall in love with him.

When the portal does finally open up who better then to ask the eccentric merman boyfriend who lives in the lake if he knows anyone about the wardrobe? Of course he does shrimpy! In fact why don’t you take a visit through after he stretches his legs a bit!

Now did you know he could become human? Properly not but it doesn’t stop your excitement from building as you watch Floyd bounce around more giddy then you’d ever seen him as you make your way back home, up the stairs, and into the room where the wardrobe still sat hanging open as a cold breeze blows from it. I doubt it would take long for you to be dragged through and ultimately stuck with a hellish pair of twins, both determined to never let you leave.

Meeting Floyd is...unexpected. I mean, who would expect to meet a mermaid in their local lake?! Not you, that’s for sure! Yet here you are, face to face with the sharp toothed smile of the fish man in the lake.

“Eh? A new Shrimpy came to play?”

It takes a while for your brain to stop short circuiting, staring into his heterochromatic eyes for a solid few minutes before you finally stutter out a deeply thought out and introspective sentence...

“What the ever loving fuck?”

And that’s how your friendship started with him. How could you not go back to keep meeting him? Not only was he a freaking mermaid, but you couldn’t help but worry that he might be lonely, you’re the only person who visits him at the lake, the locals all steering clear calling it ‘dangerous’. Sure, Floyd could be a bit temperamental and maybe a little violent but he’d never gone out his way to hurt you, any nicks must’ve been accidents and the tugging you underwater when you get to close seems to be a game of his with the way he laughs when you surface.

Months go by and your feelings soon evolve for the merman, and you decide to bite the bullet and tell him, and to your surprise he seems to know what you’re talking about when you tell him you’re in love with him, giving you a wide grin as he props himself on the edge of the lake.

“That means you have to come and visit me every day, Shrimpy! I’ll be mad at you if you forget, and then I’d have to squeeze you!”

Time continues on and you keep your promise to Floyd, even on the day where there was literal snow pouring out of the wardrobe in your spare room, something you can’t help but ponder as you sit with him.

“Shrimpppppyyyy, I’m boooooored.”

“Huh?” You snapped out of your thoughts, staring down at your boyfriend, his cheeks pressed into his hands and he leant on the lakeside, only to consider something. Floyd was supernatural, right? And snow coming out of a perfectly function wardrobe is also abnormal, right? It might be a long shot, but what would it hurt to check with the merman to see if he knew anything about it? So you do, and to your surprise, his bored expression shifting to one of pure excitement.

He knows about it, he knows all about it! You dash off to grab some clothes from the local store, you can only guess his size, getting the first ones you think might fit him before taking them back to the lakeside to find Floyd there looking bored.

He pulls the clothes on with a groan, and it’s only when he stands you realise exactly how tall this human Floyd is, he towers over you, teeth still sharp, and it suddenly feels a little bit more threatening to know that he could always come on land. But you don’t get long to think, Floyd grabs you by the hand, dragging you off in the direction of your house, you don’t even think to ask how he knows where you live. You just about unlock the door before he punches through it, and by the time you’re in your spare room your mind is so frazzled by the events of the past few hours that it takes you a while to realise that Floyd is trying to pull you into the wardrobe. His brother will be so happy to meet you!

Unique Magic: Frigid Paradise — User blows icy winds (that seem like fog) that hit the target, making them vulnerable to agreeing with what he says and does for a certain amount of time. The target's eyes will become a glossed over periwinkle when under the influence. Aster uses his unique magic whenever he needs people to become compliant, such as when there is too much ruckus within a group. He also states that when he uses it, the target's mind is sent to a happy memory in their life.

A hoard of mysteries surround the identity of Aster every since Lilia found him. Not a lot of people know too much about him except for his half giant genes. Not even Aster himself remembers much of his past before being found; all he recalls is someone wiping out the place he used to call home. It is a memory he tries to retrieve, but it becomes too painful when doing so. Though, nowadays as people observe him, they can describe Aster as a very stoic and calm in almost every situation. He always seems to be lost in thought while looking off into the distance. He isn't very easy to read with his lack of reaction, but that seems to contradict the tone he holds when sweets are brought up. There are times where he is playful, giving a faint smile when someone is hit by a sudden snowball.

• Twisted from Jadis, the White Witch from Narnia.

• Aster was physically around 10-11 when Lilia found him. Aster found Lilia silly and had laughed quietly when the fae tried to make him stop crying. Lilia would describe Aster as a very quiet and compliant child who'd follow him around. Probably out of fear of losing anything/anyone else.

• Has a major sweet tooth and tends to get upset if his favorite sweets/candy are kept from him. He once mentioned how he can't understand how some people cam say too any sweets is a bad thing.

• His body temperature is colder than others, making him like a human air conditionor. Constantly has cold hands.

• Heat and the summer weather make him feel fatigue, lightheaded and dizzy. Sometimes he might faint if he's not too careful.

• Always been praised for being a very handsome person and Aster doesn't know how to respond to such comments.
