Britain’s in the grip of its worst race riots in decades. And Elon Musk just can't help himself. The billionaire X owner sparked fury in the British government this weekend after he responded to incendiary footage of the far-right disorder that's sweeping the country by saying "civil war is inevitable." The post on X was roundly condemned by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office, which said there was “no justification” for Musk’s comments. But Musk doubled, tripled, then quadrupled down after that dig. Responding to a statement from Starmer vowing his government would “not tolerate attacks on mosques or on Muslim communities,” the X boss effectively accused the British prime minister of wearing blinkers. “Shouldn’t you be concerned about attacks on all communities?” Policing of the unrest "does seem one-sided," he offered in a third post. He then branded Starmer "#twotierkeir" — riffing on a popular far-right talking point that British police treat disorder by white people differently to that by perpetrated by minorities. Justice Minister Heidi Alexander called Musk "deplorable."

Elon Musk attacks Keir Starmer’s government

Elon Musk has criticised Keir Starmer, saying that under his Labour government “very few” companies want to invest in the UK, The Independent reports.

The tycoon and close associate of Donald Trump said the “current administration” was responsible for rejecting cash flowing into the UK. He was responding to a call from Scottish politicians to ask Tesla, his car company, to open a gigafactory in the country. He said on X:

“Very few companies will be willing to invest in the UK with the current administration.”

The attack could be a blow to Sir Keir, who has made attracting new businesses to the UK a key part of his economic growth plan. Starmer has previously clashed with X owner Musk after the billionaire entrepreneur used the platform to claim that “civil war” in the UK was “inevitable.”

Musk also lashed out at the Prime Minister, calling him a #twotierkeir, using the language of a right-wing conspiracy theory that claims police treat different types of protesters differently.

Nigel Farage met Musk at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago mansion amid rumours that the tech billionaire is preparing to donate up to $100 million to Reform UK. The money would be the largest donation in British election history.

According to The Sunday Times, leading businessmen and Conservative Party officials believe Musk may have handed over the money as payment for ‘slagging off Starmer’ as part of his feud with the Prime Minister.

Trump’s first mate even shared a post on website X in which he claims Reform UK will win the next general election, signing his repost with the word “yes.”

Asked by ITV about reports of a large donation, Musk denied that he planned to give $100 million, but his response did not rule out another amount. Asked if he planned to give the party £80m, Musk, who has been appointed by Trump to head the government’s new US efficiency commission, said “no.”

Farage has previously described Musk as “very supportive.” The party leader said:

“He thinks that if Reform do well in the UK, we can bring about the same kind of change that he intends to do with Donald Trump in America.”
