the context is my non enstarrie friend bestie made a writing game out of combining TWO (2) enstars characters, making a fankid from them, and writing out a hypothetical meeting between parents and fankid ^_^ dont think about how this meeting is happening in the first place. dont think about the temporal or spacial dilations nedcessary for any of this to happen .dont think about it too hard . there is no real logical explanation other than shenanigans. anyway have fun!!! @bluestbluejay @head-full-of-empty

“Thanks for coming in, Chiaki-san.”

Chiaki nodded to Madara as he slid his coat off, eyeing the child sat atop Madara’s bed. He couldn’t have been older than ten.

The boy’s hair was dark brown near the ends but a brighter orange at the top. Though cut relatively short, it covered his ears and seemed to brush upwards at the back. He wore a puffy little white jacket, a red t-shirt sporting the image of some kind of humanoid monster, and cargo shorts. Freckles adorned his cheeks, pupils the same hue as Chiaki’s own.

“Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! RYUSEI Red!” the kid gushed, his eyes abright with excitement.

“… Haha! Mikejima-san, it’s not like you to host a private meet-and-greet!” Chiaki exclaimed, offering him a grin. “Who’s this little guy?”

Madara, who had closed the door to his dorm, now leaned against it, arms crossed. His face maintained its detached smile, but his eyes were creased with concern. More than usual.

“According to himself… that’s ‘our’ child.”

Chiaki blinked, all of his RYUSEI energy quickly draining from his body and face.

“Whuh?”

“Madara, shhh!” their apparent ‘child’ hushed, a finger to his lips. “Someone outside could hear you! In public, Chiaki is RYUSEI Red, not my dad!”

Though flubbing his words, Chiaki tried to recover, “Our— Our child?”

“Oh, sorry… I’ll introduce myself!” The boy straightened his back, setting a fist on his chest. A wide grin decorated his face. “My name is Yuki Judai[1], but m’ birth name is Morisawa! Nice to finally meetcha, Papa! Or- I can’t say that… Chiaki!”

Chiaki felt as if he might pass out.

“Chiaki, is Madara watching me?” Judai asks one night, just as a tired Chiaki, eyes bogged down by sleepless months between idol work and childcare, tucks him into bed.

It takes Chiaki a moment to absorb the question, and even then, he’s perplexed and disoriented from exhaustion. “Hm? Aahh… What do you mean…?”

Judai falls quiet, his gaze directing towards the wall. Chiaki takes the silence as hesitance.

“I’ll listen to you, Jyu.” He rests a hand on the child’s head, gently petting it.

“Sometimes Koko[2] and me watch mahoshojo movies when I’m over at Kuro’s,” Judai mumbles. “And sometimes, when the protag girl’s mom is missing, it turns out her mom was watching over her the whole time, but couldn’t live with her, to protect her.”

Oh. Chiaki’s eyes widens.

“Is Madara watching over me like that?” Judai’s gaze slides back towards Chiaki, who now looks away at the floor.

Of course it’d be a heavy question. Another one he couldn’t answer honestly. Another white lie he had to give to spare him some of the heartbreak Chiaki carried himself.

Chiaki drew his memories back to the last time he spoke to Madara . A few years ago, just a few months after Judai had suddenly came into their lives. They’d agreed to cut off contact completely for the sake of their careers, and it was on Chiaki to raise ‘their’ kid on his own as subtly and secretly as he could to avoid scandal. Even in all their time together, Madara never said a word of why — beyond he ‘didn’t want them to be hurt’.

It was maddening. How was Chiaki supposed to tell their kid that? How was he supposed to take that as anything but treason, anything but Madara Mikejima once again abandoning those he loved, doing what he thought would spare their feelings (and maybe his own)? And though Chiaki objected afterwards, since that day, he could never get in contact with Madara, even as he continued to tour as MaM.

There were signs that Madara still cared. Occasionally, sometimes with weeks between, unmarked envelopes with checks of thousands of yen upward arrived in his mail, so the two of them must still be a thought in Madara’s mind. But not enough to warrant visits or calls or even letters beyond money.

Maybe it was time to break that truth to Judai. That Madara wasn’t watching and never was, that he would never acknowledge either of them again. A small part of Chiaki believes Judai had already figured it out on his own anyhow. An even smaller part of him, the one keeping their reality in the dark from Judai in all that time, tries to claw his throat shut as he opens his mouth.

Before he can speak, Judai turns over on his side and tucks his head under the covers.

“Nevermind. Sorry I asked.” He whispers, “I already know he’s not paying attention. You don't, either.”

His heart drops to the floor and shatters like glass.

His mind now scrambled, Chiaki tries to force what comforting words he had out. Something to the tune of no, no, he loves you or he still thinks of you. The usual words given whenever Judai’s mourning Madara’s absence. Anything to tide him over until the morning when Chiaki would hopefully be more awake, have more energy to sort out the mess of a mental state both of them must be in, have more time to squeeze between jobs and RYUSEITAI practice.

Instead, he relents quietly, “I’m sorry, Judai.” He rubs the kid’s back through the blanket, offering what little comfort he could give without lying through his teeth for once. Surely it wasn’t enough. Far from enough. Years of starving for their affection could hardly be satisfied by a backrub.

“… Tell you what— I’ll make you breakfast in the morning, okay? Omurice with ketchup and maybe some miso.”

He doesn’t expect a reply, and he doesn’t receive one. After a good amount of silence, once he can hear Judai’s incredibly fake snores, Chiaki leans down and kisses his head through the blanket.

“Goodnight,” he sighs, finally rising to leave.

This is purely because I’m bored but also because my sad life revolves entirely around them. 

Puff Idol 

Set during Tomato Kino era, this one’s a great mix of cringeyness (Changgu put that umbrella down pls), musicality (we get the absolute best version of Sha La La that has ever been granted to us) and even educational moments? Who else but pedantic trilingual MUN conference speaker Hongnerd wouldn’t let the members sleep for not saying TEETH the proper way. WHO CARES. Although I’ll forgive him because I, too, once fell asleep whilst standing up, and I feel like we should support each other in this community. We also get Hui speaking English and Kino almost busting a lung which, although they give off very different vibes, are both part of my fav Pentagon’s title tracks. Deserved 5 stars at first but it was until I saw that terrifying cheek kiss at the end. Or whatever that was. But these guys are weird.

Fact iN Star 

A glorious display of Pentagon’s first passion: roasting each other. Yuto did Shinwon so dirty it made me see the world from a new perspective. But the iconic “I’ll give you more lines” alone deserves a show win. Even Kino calling Hui “Hoetaek-ah” and then being this close to walk through the window to hide in Australia sends me every time. And you know how everyone’s been saying Wooseok deserves an Oscar for the crazy act that makes him look like he’s taking 200V every time he’s on stage? We been knew he invented Hollywood when he acted Yeooner than Yeoone himself in one firy “where’s the camera” gesture. But anyway, the point is that now I can’t listen to Sha La La (2nd best version) without Yanan’s interpretation of Wooseok’s verse now. This video changed me but not sure it’s in a good way.

Weekly Idol 

Alternatively an hour of Hui embarrassing his members and Yuto laughing instead of breathing. Also the one and only video in which Yeoone made me laugh but he was trying so hard I think that was just out of pity. This video was actually one of the first I watched when I got into them and I started to understand what I got myself into when Wooseok’s special talent was to imitate a broken weeder. Because right that’s something totally normal to be bragging about. I hold this video very dear to my heart, I’ll never say no to Kino dancing on TT or Hui vibin on his piano but you know it was all fun and games until Hong started hugging Jinho from behind out. of. nowhere. 

I rate it 1 ugly moon for this very reason 🌝

What is up with them that make them take so much pleasure in role playing a body switch? i WaNt To Be HOng BecAusE hiS aBS my ass, the second they get to clown each other they’re dragging each other down into thick mud and quicksand. All whilst tenderly holding hands. Who are these people? Part 2 is even worse. A year into this madness has made it clear to me they’re particularly bad at all games but I should’ve known when I saw them lose so miserably without any competitors. That’s just another video of them begging the staff to tolerate their incompetency. And even then, they’re supposed to make them laugh and what do they do?? Kino?? Decides to fucking dance his pants off as if three torches weren’t enough to heat up the place. How is that funny??? I give it half a star. But I’ll round it down to one, part of it is because Hui and Shinwon being high on life for two potatoes kinda gives me joy, and also cause there’s no half star emoji.

We get a pterodactyl getting kicked, a member of staff losing an eye, Kino just... ridin a pony in full Ginuwine style and a love story between Shinwon and a bowl of radish that was more emotional than the whole Twilight saga.

of course, none other than king943 hSJADJSAJHAS. He’s a little secret I’ll let you all in on: the first person I actually noticed in TXT was,,,,,,, Kang Taehyun hSDHJAHJSDAHSA but he wasn’t my bias. I just thought he was cute (also amused me bc my BTS bias was Taehyung and I found a guy named Taehyun cute), but I didn’t stan them then. Winter! Even if I’ve never experienced snow or winter before, the whole idea of snow is just really fun and endearing to me. One of my bucketlists is to see snow in real life. I think it has to do with the fact that I’ve always been this person to prefer the cold over heat.

I’ve always been here! Just not in kpop tumblr. I’ve since deleted my old accounts and shame  but i came back to write. It’s always been so stress-relieving to me, to write without any expectations on my back because I’m thinking about grades or a competition. Also Soobin simping is a daily thing and I gotta release it somewhere man

are you happy with where you are in life right now? why or why not?

Yes. I may not be the richest or the prettiest, or smartest or whatever, but I have a good family that loves me. I have good friends that support me and I have TXT and BTS to help me cope when things get overwhelming. I have a job that gives me a little bit of income (it’s not too common for college students here to get jobs like in the US, most of them just focus on acads) and all the means to continue my education amidst the pandemic. So really, I’m grateful for where I am now.

to see the boys in real life but for it to happen only once in your lifetime, or to meet the boys via online fan meeting as many times as you can in your lifetime? why?

Why do you have to do me dirty cj,,,,, prolly online. I may not get to hug them or anything but I get to talk to them still. As may times as I want to. “Come to this party with me - you can meet the members officially!” Her voice turned cutesy, trying to persuade you into coming to a Cube Christmas Party.  “I don’t know, I’m not an idol or a trainee... would they let me in?” “Don’t make excuses babe, I’ve got a plus one! I’ll pick you up at 7.”  Reluctantly, you got dressed and did your make-up.  When Soyeon arrived, she wasn’t expecting you to look so beautiful.  It shocks her every time.  You explained your nerves about meeting the other members and her friends from the company.  “Please don’t be nervous - I’ve told them so much about you that they basically know you already.”  Meeting each member was an absolute breeze, that it completely washed away the nervousness you felt this afternoon.  You found yourself laughing and joking with them in no time.  You were so distracted, that you failed to notice Soyeon staring at you with such heart eyes.  She hadn’t realized how nervous she was too for you to meet the members.  It was important for you guys to get along, even though she knew you would.  So this is love, she thought.  After letting you meet the members, she grabbed your hand and pulled you to go dance with her. “Why are you looking at me like that?” You giggle, enjoying the music and her body meshed against yours.  Instead of answering, her right hand snakes up your body to hold your cheek, and kisses you softly.  The kiss lasts for a couple seconds, before you pull away with a smile. “I’m glad you came tonight,” she smiled. “That makes two of us,” you grin, pulling her closer to do it again.

Miyeon

Miyeon and you had made plans to go on a picnic this afternoon, but neither of you were sure if this is a date.  “IT’S A DATE!” The members had told her over and over again; yes, her crush, you, also had a crush on her.  You two were the only ones that couldn’t see it.  You decided to meet at the Han River, since she’s been wanting to show you one of her favourite places in Seoul.  “I came here a lot when I was a trainee, isn’t is calming?”  She asked you as you both set up the food. “Thanks for bringing me here, it’s so lovely.”  You two continued to eat, talk, laugh, and slowly but surely move closer and closer to each other on the blanket.  A small scooch here, a slight shuffle there, and somehow your legs were touching.  Both of you tried to subtly display some sort of affection to figure out what this was - you’d touch her thigh, she’d tuck a strand of hair out of your face.  Your heart was pumping and her hands were clammy.  I should make a move soon, she thought, before I talk myself out of it.  “I have a surprise for you,” she smiled, “close your eyes.” You did, and she quietly reached into her bag to pull out cupcakes - your favourite flavour.  The smile on your face made it worth every penny.  “Oh wait, you’ve got a little something on your lips...” A bit of icing rested on the corner of your mouth. “I’ll get it.” Without thinking, she leaned over to hold your chin, and was suddenly kissing you.  It was short and quick, and you both pulled away in shock.  You two couldn’t look away as a shy “I’m sorry,” came from her lips.  “Are you sure you got all of it? I think I still feel some...” you smirk, as she gets the hint to kiss you again.  FINALLY, someone made a move.

Minnie 

Your girlfriend and you had spent all of December 31st looking for smoking hot, bomb-ass dresses to wear to the New Year’s Eve party your friend was hosting at their place the next day.  “What about this one?” “Oh, we need one with more glitter!”  A shopping date was something you did regularly, but today you both felt an exciting jolt of energy that only comes from the New Year. “This will be our last date and first date of 2019!” You said in passing while searching threw the racks, but the comment stuck with Minnie.  She had an idea!  Fast forward to the party, you both meet up early to get ready.  “Are you okay Minnie, you seem a bit nervous?” You ask as the two of you do your make-up in the mirror. “I’m fine!”  At the party, you both dance and eat and sing, and get slightly tipsy. Minnie watched you from across the room dance with your friend, and couldn’t help but feel a little envy... you were here with her, weren’t you?  As she walked over to you, people began to count down.  Neither of you had realized that it was so close to midnight, and your head snapped up in surprise, quickly scanning the party for your girlfriend.  She walks quicker towards you and you match her pace. 10, 9, 8!  “Babe,” she says a little breathless. 7, 6, 5! “Minnie, I-” 4, 3, 2! Before you can finish the clock strikes 12, and Minnie pulls you close to her.  She pushes her lips on yours with a bit of force, one filled with passion.  You kiss for what seems like minutes, making out in the middle of the dance floor.  As you both break the kiss, breathless, the celebration seems to fade into the background, the only thing you can see is Minnie; her lips red and swollen from you. “Happy New Year,” you whisper, resting you forehead against hers. “Happy New Year, baby.”

Soojin

“Ugh!” An aggravated huff comes from across the studio, where your crush Soojin monitors her dance on her phone.  “I can’t seem to get these steps,” she sighs, making her way over to you on the couch.  “You don’t look that bad to me,” you try to keep calm as she sits right next to you, your thighs touching.  “That’s because you’re not a dancer, you loser.” She often teases you like this, making fun of you in a playful way.  But this time you weren’t gonna take it... “Fine then. Teach me it so I can critic you properly.”  Soojin’s eyes snap open, and a chuckle escapes her mouth.  “Oh please, that would take eons.” “I’m serious!” you exclaim, “they always say the best way to get something is to teach it to others... I will be ‘others’ tonight. C’mon, get up!” She laughs from the couch as you take off your sweater and begin to wiggle around, stretching out your limbs. “Hm. Fine... but only because I think this will be a disaster.”  Slowly but surely, Soojin teaches you the choreography.  And you’re both pleasantly surprised when you’re not half bad.  Most of the night is spent giggling and mocking you.  “No, here,” Soojin stands against your back as she guides your arm around your head.  You thanked God that the dancing explained your pounding heart.  The turn was the hardest part of the routine, and when trying to follow along to the music, your clumsy ass trips over your own feet. “Soojin!” You call out, before she attempts to catch you... but you both end up going down together.  Your laughter fills the room as she falls on top of you. “Ugh, Y/N!” She whines, looking down at you.  You looked so cute under her, with that stupid smile of yours on your face.  You both looked into each other’s eyes for a moment too long, and the butterflies in your stomach grow.  “Sorry,” you mutter quietly.  In response, Soojin dips down, hovering her lips over yours.  “That’s okay.”  The kiss was long and drawn out, conveying that she was having a great time teaching you... even if you were a klutz.  

Yuqi

"We’re going to the carnival tonight! Get ready!” You bounced into the girls’ dorm, as your girlfriend let you in.  “Tonight?” “Tonight!”  After a little pep talk, you got Yuqi into a cab and on your way to the carnival.  “I haven’t been to one of those since I was young!” “I don’t think I’ve ever been to one before,” she admits once you get there. WHAT!? “Alright Miss Song - you’re going to get the entire carnival experience!”  You take her to get some food truck snacks, to the fun fair booths, and carnival games.  At some point, she wins you a heart shaped plushy, and you both buy fun animal-themed head bands.  As the sun begins to go down, you drag her towards the Ferris wheel.  “This is a must! Especially at sunset, you can see the city from up there.” In line, you recount stories from your childhood about you and your friends going together.  She admires you from behind, a smile spreading across her face as she listens to you.  “Alright, the next two please!” The worker calls to you guys, and Yuqi and you step into the basket hand-in-hand.  As you begin to creep up the wheel, Yuqi notices that you’ve become visibly more tense.  “Babe, what’s wrong - you’re afraid of heights!” She remembers quickly, throwing her arm around your shoulder. “Yeah, but you’re not... I want you to see the view from up here!”  “You’re unbelievable,” she smiles, pulling you closer to her chest.  “Close your eyes, and I’ll tell you when we can see the city.”  After a couple minutes, you hear her ask you to open your eyes.  And as you promised, the view was beautiful.  “Wow,” she sighs, holding you close. “Isn’t it nice?” You smile.  She turns to you, and smirks: “I know something prettier...” And before you can answer, she’s kissing you.  Her touch is tender and gentle, the peck ending almost too soon for both of you.  “Now you’ve got another carnival memory to tell your friends,” she laughs. 

Shuhua

"That kiss is so completely un-real-istic!” You place emphasis on the last word.  “What do you mean, it’s romantic!” Shuhua laughs at your disdain.  You had never seen any of the Spider-man movies, and Shuhua wasn’t gonna have that.  At the scene of the famous upside-down kiss, you both laughed and argued about whether or not that would be satisfying and worth the effort.  “Like that cannot be comfortable, look at the angle of his neck! He’s bloody hanging from the sky!”  You suddenly position yourself so that your head is hanging off the edge of the couch, with your feet up in the air.  “Look at this Shuhua, my freaking head already hurts, how did they even do this.”  As you groan on and on, Shuhua finds herself falling for you all over again.  This crush of hers was getting to an unbearable point.  Watching you rant was something she always found entertaining, but it was never about something she’d dreamed about before.  If you so wanted to disprove this kiss scene, fine, she’d play along.  “They have to like, break their necks Shuhua, ouch.”  She moved herself to the floor, so that she could be face to face with you.  “Let’s try it then.”  Her hands went to your cheeks, and she kissed your lips.  A small gasp left your mouth, which she only took as more encouragement to hold the kiss as long as she could.  After a moment, she pulls away, and smiles down at you.  “I think that worked pretty well, what do you think?” You slowly stutter your words, not sure what to say. “If Peter felt at all the way I feel about you, I’d say any position would make a kiss perfect.” You smile shyly as she helps you sit up.  “Wanna try again?”  The movie is soon forgotten, replaced with kisses and snuggles.

GENERAL STUFF

went for school, study abroad trip to study visualization and simulation of “serious games” that businesses buy and use (but i dont feel like talking abt it since this is the FUN POST

may 10-26

the flight was 11 hours, p easy, i didn’t know anybody going into the trip because i didn’t go to any of the meetings HAHhaHEHA

whatever. everyone on the trip initially came off as if they had yellow fever and i was like ... i’m really not trying to interact with FETISHIZERS

turns out they were all really cool! only this one kid was a real weeaboo who was greasy and tall and a neckbeard who kept talking about being “culturally insensitive” and speaking japanese constantly to the teacher and the TA like ... ok patrick we get it you flex

i stayed in a hotel in shinjuku! everything is so small and i used the bidets for the first time and WOO chile that shit feels FUNKY on your asshole

i visited shinjuku major (kabukicho aka red light district, couple other places!), ikebukuro (THE MEGA POKEMON CENTER), mt fuji, fuji q highland, akihabara, hamamatsucho (area where tokyo tower is), HARAJUKU, and the emperor’s palace! i’m probably forgetting some places since we went to a lot of temples and shrines that were cool ...

the public transportation in japan is scarily on time.. like, by the second. they apologize if they’re one minute early and will wait until the scheduled time before they move omg

the subway stations have their own jingles! they kind of act as an alarm system because a lot of people sleep on the subway (which is why people generally don’t talk on it) and will recognize the jingle for their stop!

the crowded hours on the subway are noon and 6-8pm... like, its insane. it’s actually packed like sardines in there. 

EVERYONE THERE IS SO SHORT.... i was taller than a lot of the grown men there (i’m 5′4″ or 162 cm for reference) and most people were around 5 feet tall... the only people taller than me were some kids around my age and this gaggle of japanese schoolgirls who were like 5′7+ and i was like. sis you’re 13, why are you that tall

pokemon is EXTREMELY prevalent in japan wherever you go. there’s pikachu stickers on taxis, pikachu is on ads on the subway and at the AIRPORT, pokemon go is widely played by a lot of people and so many of the people in my group played it so i got conned into playing again. i leveled up 5 times within 3 days and honestly? i’m god

anime is very normal there... i know that sounds all “weeby” but a lot of normal shops had animated mascots and there were ads for anime all over the place. 

literally gacha machines everywhere i spent a lot of coins on gacha machines plz kill me

the homies in japan loooove crepes. they sold so many crepes. everywhere. just crepes. also spaghetti carbonara! and corndogs HAHAHA

the food there is so cheap but SOOO GOOD. sushi isn’t all that expensive at all?? like a set of 16 pieces is 1080Y... meanwhile that cost in america is like. $6000 HAHAHAHAH. 

very humid? at all times? also the RAIN is debilitating if u make one wrong step you will slip and die (like i did! i stepped on a tile and fucking fell into a puddle! i have bruises still!)

SHINJUKU (detective pikachu day, may 10)

i went to go see detective pikachu on its release day in shinjuku! before that, i went to a couple sega buildings--

the sega buildings are 4 story buildings FILLED with claw machines holding stuffed animals, figurines, candy, all kinds of stuff. when i went, there was a lot of detective pikachu-related stuff. i saw this detective pikachu hat in one of the machines and spent 1000Y (about $10) or 10 attempts at the claw machine ... i still can’t believe i got it ... nobody was there to see it besides me and i YELLED when it dropped 

i wore the hat that entire day around shinjuku because i honestly felt like god. people would point at me and go like “ah! meitantei pikachu!” and smile at me. i was a celebrity. i wore the hat into the movie theatre, i wore it through the entire movie, and when i was walking out, someone tapped on my shoulder and asked for my picture. she was all nervous about her english and was like “i love your hat. may i take a picture?” and i was like omG YES U CAN... sweet bab... so that’s the first photo of me that ended up on some random person’s phone

we waited around for the mass of people to exit the theatre and then left, and we ran into her again! she asked me more questions about the hat: “did you make it?” “no, i got it in a claw machine in the sega building.” she looked dumbfounded. “in shinjuku?” “yes.” “in the sega building? over there?” “yeees.” “in a claw machine?!” “yes!” “ah! i thought you made it! it’s so cute! i’m going to get one for myself.” “lol ok have fun”

i learned that its customary to stay until the very end of the credits before leaving a movie out of respect for the people who made it! meanwhile in america we walk out when the credits roll FHDSKFJS OOPIES

SHINJUKU (visit #2)

we went in the night time to go see the red light district aka kabuki-cho because thats where a lot of the bars are

i don’t drink so i didn’t join the people who went to the bars to get CRUNK, so i dragged two other guys with me and we walked around the red light district

I SAW SO MANY HOST CLUBS. so many maid cafes. so many bars. i saw a love hotel too... i was like... i wanna go inside... Blease... and my friends were like “you’re so weird KHEDJFSk” and im like “I WAS GOOGLING THESE IN CLASS TODAY, I DIDN’T THINK THEY WERE REAL”

my friend sean (he’s from taipei, cool guy, could read a lot of the kanji so we used him to navigate the subway HAHA) was walking with me that night and we saw this hole in the wall that had stairs going down to a peep show ... homegirl had her whole ass out on the sign... tiddies covered with caution tape ... i said MAAM?

one of the signs in kabuki-cho had a woman doing straight up ahegao with (what i’m pretty sure was) nut on her face. it was a small sign and i was the only one who saw it. i lost my shit. it was the funniest thing ever

kabuki-cho is really really dirty... like people straight up litter all the time bc there’s no trashcans around? so people throw their shit on the ground? and everyone steps on it... very seedy area, very gross, but i was absolutely enthralled with the nightlife and the blatant sexual vibes half the places had!

some dude stopped me and started speaking english saying “do you like karaoke? you should come drink with me for two hours, it’s a great price if you drink a lot” and i was like “no... i have to go home” and he’s like “come onnnn it’s a good price” and i was like. i’m not very assertive with men so i started panicking and my friend sean (A GOD AMONG MEN) started speaking chinese to him and he backed off ... i love you sean you’re so fucking COOL

IKEBUKURO (pokemon mega center)

so there’s this huge mall. i forgot the name, but it’s got like a lot of floors and they’re MASSIVE

on the 2rd floor is the MEGA POKEMON CENTER!!! i was so HYPED to go in there!!! it was teeming with people but there was just... so much stuff. all kinds of merch. they had plushies of the original 151, a shitton of really cool tshirts, a whole block for detective pikachu-themed merch (pins, socks, canvas bags, shirts, patches, hats, etc), and sooo much more. there’s a giant charizard statue when you walk in, as well as a statue of a pokestop HAHA. i was so excited and i wanted to buy so many things when i was in there bc they had stuff for all the legendaries (LATIOS AND LATIAS STUFF WERE THERE I WAS SO HAPPY)!!! literally anything you can think of, they had in some kind of pokemon print. including underwear. yeah i said it. here’s a really good article that showcases some of the stuff they sold there!

for reference, 100 yen is about 1 usd. a lot of things there were 480 yen ($4.80) or 3000Y ($30) and it was just... beautiful. 

when i was there, yen didn’t feel like it had monetary value since it’s not the currency i’m used to, so i sPENT WAY TOO MUCH AHFJKDFD

they had themed cash registers with each of the starters... i cried :’)

i actually went there a second time but it was packed for a different reason. some idol group was performing on the ground floor and a shitton of girls were screaming fanchants while their jpop boys danced LOLLL. now i know how people see kpop stans ...

AKIHABARA (i went like 8 times)

we went to the maid cafe. of course we fucking did. i got a dreamland passport and some cat ears. THE MAIDS ALL LOVED HATSUNE MIKU

SPEAKING OF HATSUNE MIKU AKA MY GODDESS, she was pretty popular in akihabara! she was also on some posters in the subway stations (across tokyo, not just in akihabara) and was apparently having some magical mirai concert???

there’s this giant tower called radio kaikan thats right outside the akihabara station that’s filled with all sorts of anime shit. i spent so much money in there. Good God. there was a furret plush for 5400Y and i was so STINGY that day i shouldve BOUGHT IT....  it was a longboi and i was like... sis!!!!

remember how i said my brain didn’t register that yen had monetary value? yeah i spent hundreds of dollars here no cap ...

i went to a kaguya-sama cafe as well on another day bc my friend joe (one of the figureine-collecting weebs) wanted to go and get a chika coaster

i went into a three floor sex shop and gave no fucks, the bottom floor was filled with bdsm shit and LEATHER SCHOOLGIRL OUTFITS and it was WILD. and these two old men were just casually browsing this shit like we weren’t both looking at whips and buttplugs in Public you know

i wasn’t fazed by a lot of the stuff there bc i read Funky fanfiction but the people i went in there with were major uncomfy ... i was like PRUDES HAJKFDAHDS i almost bought something don’t tell anybody

OKAY SO. there’s this place called super potato that has a floor dedicated to old games and consoles. they had so many gameboy advances and gamecubes and old consoles (famicom, dreamcast etc) for CHEAP. they had a gameboy color for 4900Y and a gamecube for 5600Y. a bitch almost cried. they had every old pokemon game under the sun (the original red, blue, yellow, gold and silver) and i ,,, they were 480Y. they were 480Y. that’s five fucking dollars. do you know how much collectors pay for that shit on ebay? HUNDREDS. i could’ve mass bought those and sold them and made so much cash but I DIDN’T.

that store had an original unopened copy of super smash bros melee and pokemon colosseum and i was like... wait if i cop a gamecube i could play pokemon collosseum like a true g... ((i didn’t cop))

but anyways there were a lot of games that didn’t make it to america (including mother 3! which my friend connor bought! as well as the console to play it!) and just... so many old things i grew up with ... 

whenever i walked out of the super potato we’d end up in an alley where all the girls who work at cafes were advertising their stuff

i always took the flyers from the girls bc they spoke their cute english to me and i was like... i’d die for you, yknow that?

ALL KINDS OF CAFES. regular maid cafe, pirate cafe, ninja cafe (you could do that thing where you karate chop a wooden block in half), sailor cafe (as in actual ship captains), shrine maiden cafe, vampire cafe, prince cafe (for the ladies ;3), catgirl cafe, bunny girl cafe... i took all of the goddamn flYERS THEY WERE ALL SO CUTE :( i wanted to go so bad...

FUJI Q HIGHLAND (also known as the time i flipped my shit and went on rollercoasters)

when i found out about fuji-q, i told my group that we HAD to go. i didn’t want to go to an onsen. i wanted to go to fuji-q. i had to. i love rollercoasters, it’s my passion, my driving fORCE IN LIFE

so fuji-q is home to 4 record-breaking rollercoasters! u got fast boi aka jojo reference do-dodonpa; EXTREME TALL BOI fujiyama; superior to x2 at six flags eejanaika; and the steepest rollercoaster in the world TAKABISHA ... i got to ride fujiyama, eejanaika, and takabisha! the scariest one was probably fujiyama despite it being very cut and dry up for... ever ... 79 meters ... oh god ... i lost my shit on the way down ladies let me TELL YOU

FUJIYAMA ALSO HAS A VIEW OF MT FUJI AND I WAS LIK E”YO GUYS ITS MT FUJI” and then we went down and i screamed

anyways the fuji-q park was having a sword art online collaboration when i visited, so they played SAO music and had cardboard cutouts for them across the park... kirito’s ride was fujiyama (aka the king of them all). i forgot the other ones but those alicization kiddos were there but ion care about ALICE OR EUGEO

the first ride i went on was eejanaika which is a 4d rollercoaster, pretty epic, total Baby Ride though

i went on as a single rider so i ended up getting put in this group with these college kids! the guy i was sitting next to spoke to me in english and asked basic questions: “where are you from?”, “is this [ride] easy for you?”, “how old are you?”, basic stuff. he asked why i was in japan and i told him i was studying at waseda university, and he immediately perked up and went “I GO TO WASEDA!!! WASEDA YEAH!!!” and fist bumped me ... his friends were giggling and kept asking him to ask me questions and it was just. so wholesome.

when we were abt to get on the ride he looks at me and says “my name is soichiro. call me so-chan ok??” and i was like... “so-chan” and his friENDS ALL STARTED GIGGLIGN AND I WAS LIKE U///W///U

while we were going up on the ride, he kept yelling “JESUS FUCK YOU JESUS CHRIST” and my favorite: “JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK YOU” because apparently fuck cannot be standalone! “what the fuck you” is my new fave insult (i miss you so-chan)

afterwards he kept coughing and was like. dead. his soul left his body. so i asked in him japanese like,,, “daijobu ka?” and he was like “nai.” and i just laughed at him bc BA B Y SO-CHAN CANT HANDLE SOME SPINS 

i bought a corndog at fuji-q at this place called arirang hotdog which is a korean style hotdog place??? BRUH that shit is so good but i shat myself for a good minute afterwards ... damn i want those corndogs

sadly i did not get to go on do-dodonpa because nobody wanted to ride with me and i didn’t want to go by myself >:/// still mad abt that bc that was the FAST BOI ...

also. takabisha. the guiness world record with the 121 degree drop. not even scary. BUT they do hang you there for like 3 seconds before making you go down and i was like “YALL FUCKIN WITH ME” really loud when they hung us there ... PLS watch a pov video you’ll see what i mean ...

HARAJUKU (i totally forgot abt this place OH lord)

Kihyun

Thalia was part of a hot new duo group with her friend, Queenie. As a new duo group, they received calls left and right due to their overnight fame. Thalia was sent to a radio talk show alone as Queenie went to a podcast. Divide and concur was their plan. They branched out and made connections fast as they made new celebrity friends.

However, there was one group Thalia wanted to meet desperately and that was Monsta X. She was a huge fan of their work and envied Kihyun and his angelic voice. She didn’t expect for her wish to come true so fast. Though it wasn’t all of Monsta X, she didn’t care. She was excited when her manager told her about a show the duo would be interviewed on with Kihyun.

On the show, Thalia did not expect Queenie to rat her out so fast when the host asked them about their role models in the industry. Queenie clapped her hands together, “At the moment, I really look up to Jay Park, but it was Zico who made me want to branch into music and really rap. My dream is is to collab with him if I could make it past the fangirling portion.” They all laughed at her honesty. Queenie wrapped her arm around Thalia, “And this one actually looks up to Kihyun.”

Thalia’s jaw dropped as she gently elbowed Queenie in the side, “Hey. don’t go saying something so embarrassing on air.” She rubbed her nose, a tell tale sign of her embarrassment. “She’s not wrong. I look up to different vocalists and Kihyun is definitely one of them”

The host grinned at the revelation, “What are your thoughts, Kihyun?”

Kihyun gave a small laugh, “I’m honored. I think it’s funny because I really like your singing, but I’ll be happy to give you some pointers whenever.”

She scratched the back of her neck and smiled, “Ah, that’d be great.”

After the segment, Kihyun would ask for if Thalia and Queenie had some time to get some coffee. Jay would decline as she wanted to get back to work on her mixtape and she left Thalia alone with Kihyun.

Hyungwon

Melly only knew of Hyungwon through her friendship with Minhyuk just as she only knew of the other members. Melly never knew the real reason why Minhyuk kept his friends from her, but Minhyuk worried of them stealing her attention. Especially since Hyungwon made comments in the past about her being cute and wanted to meet her, Minhyuk was against it. He knew Hyungwon would corrupt his angelic best friend.

However Minhyuk tried to keep Monsta X away from Melly, with her becoming a model and dancer to an agency, Minhyuk was finding it harder and harder to keep them away and one fateful day his attempt failed.

Hyungwon was asked to fill in on a music show and when he found out Melly was a mc on the show, he naturally agreed. It was the perfect moment to meet her.

When the two were introduced, Melly and him clicked almost immediately. Being around him was fun, they made jokes and easily slipped into conversation as they were backstage before the show. Minhyuk would text Melly constantly telling her not to fall for Hyungwon’s fake facade, but she soon turned off her phone.

By the end of the show, Melly met with the producer to discuss next week’s show. She looked up at Hyungwon who had been staring at her since they got off set. In embarrassment of getting caught, Hyungwon put the bottle he had in his hand and went to take a sip only to find the lid still on. Melly’s eyes twinkled in amusement as she covered her mouth to hide her laugh with a gentle cough.

After the discussion, Melly approached Hyungwon, “Hey” she greeted him shyly. He gave her a small wave still getting over his bottle incident. She smiled as she held out her phone, “Though Minhyuk will totally flip, can I have your number? Maybe we can get some coffee or something.”

“Yea” Hyungwon said almost immediately. “I’ll add you on my Kakao too.” Melly’s smile only brightened as she watched him take her phone and punch in his number.

So much for Minhyuk’s plan to keep them apart because after meeting Hyungwon, Melly was officially introduced to the rest of the members. Thought Minhyuk still tried to protect her from them.

Jooheon

Joy’s cousin was an idol in Starship Entertainment and he was close friends with Jooheon and Minhyuk from Monsta X. Joy was a huge fan of Jooheon and Changkyun due to her own love of rapping. Jooheon was her bias and her cousin would tease her that he knew him. Joy was just a freelance choreographer, so she worked with different groups and companies but she never worked with Starship.

When her cousin started his own late night radio show he decided that his first show would be special. He invited Jooheon, Changkyun, and Joy to the radio show. Joy was excited when she found out two rappers she liked were going to be on the same  radio show with her.

She was talking to her cousin in the waiting room when Jooheon and Changkyun walked in. Her cousin immediately got up from his seat and greeted the two men before he led them to the studio to show them around.

Jooheon searched the room until his eyes landed on Joy. She had stepped into the music lime light due to her r&b singles as she tried to step out of just dancing. He had admired her two songs. They told a story. A story that had him hanging on every word that would fill his ears. He looked forward to meeting her, but didn’t want to come off as some little fanboy, so with the help of his group members, he had a plan when he met Joy.

As he walked past her, he flashed her a peace sign, “Wassup?” He walked on as Changkyun made a point to stop.

Changkyun reached out to shake Joy’s hand, “Hey, nice to meet you.”Joy shook his hand with a smile as she greeted him back before he left her and followed Jooheon who fled to the studio in embarrassment.

Her cousin returned to fetch her and threw his arm around her as he laughed. “I bet you, he listened to Minhyuk on how he could greet you.” Joy let out a little laugh as she was guided to the studio.

After the show, Jooheon made it a point to properly introduce himself to her. He didn’t want her thinking he was some jerk especially since he knew she looked up to him.

Meghan was a popular Youtuber who was known for making covers of kpop songs and making her own choreography of different songs. One of her favorites was Monsta X. She gushed about them constantly when she did lives and whenever they released a new album, she was quick to make a cover or a choreography.

Due to her popularity, she was invited to mc for a 2 day kpop concert and perform one of her own covers which she quickly agreed.

The first day of the concert, she felt her heart racing. She had done small meets and performances, but today she would be out in front of hundreds of fandoms. She heard her name get called and she graced the stage. Her adrenaline heightened when she stepped on the stage and walked up to her mysterious co-host. As she got closer, she couldn’t hide her shock. She held her hand on her head as she stopped in her tracks, “No way!” She laughed in disbelief as she noticed Changkyun. The fans laughed and cheered at her genuine shocked reaction. Meghan walked up to him and they bowed in greeting.

“Hey, nice to meet you” he chuckled as he stared at her in disbelief. “Wow, I didn’t know you were going to be my co-host.”

She laughed, “Yea, same. No one told me either. I’m a huge fan.”

“You’re covers are some of my favorites to watch” he replied. After their small exchange, they went on to address the fans and rile them up for the day’s performances.

After the show, Meghan was headed out to her car when she heard someone call out to her. She turned back to see Changkyun rush up to her. He asked for her number to meet up sometime and naturally she agreed.

Bad at Household Chores But an Able Working Corporate Slave

—— As this is Matenrou’s second CD release, what is your impression of Kannonzaka Doppo?

Ito: When Doppo raps, he steadily becomes more and more dangerous (laughs). Although he wasn’t able to speak his mind when he first started, he might get better at expressing himself little by little. As usual, he’s menial, but I think he is able change that into a strength. For that to happen, it may be because his teammates Jinguji Jakurai and Izanami Hifumi’s presence have become larger.

—— What do you pay attention to when you are acting as Doppo?

Ito: It was a challenge to record with that much negative emotion infused. When I’m in Tokyo, it’s easy to trace Doppo’s actions, like remembering being shaken in a crowded train…. He even wears a suit so it’s even harder. I’m glad my job doesn’t require wearing a suit (laughs).

—— Doppo is perhaps the sole corporate slave character, but how do you feel about this?

Ito: I wonder how much of a corporate slave he is. I don’t think being a salesperson is the most suitable job for Doppo, I wonder if he’s okay. First, Doppo should have a car because it would be tough for Doppo to go around for business by train. Having a car would make it easier. Perhaps Hifumi would buy him a car since he has more money (laughs). I don’t know if he has enough income for a car…

—— A line in Hifumi’s part of “-Division Battle Anthem-” is “12,346,600 Monthly,” so we can estimate his monthly sales to be over 10,000,000 [yen]. If the club shares 50% of the sales with him, then that is a quite an income.

Ito: If it’s not a luxury car, it’s likely that he’d get one for Doppo…?! But if he does that, Doppo’s self worth might fade away (laughs).

——Hifumi possibly has expensive taste, what does Doppo think about him?

Ito: There are times when he’s unpleasant yet he is an indispensable existence. Speaking of it, in the BATTLE CD’s drama part, we learn that they live together.  I thought, “you guys get along too well,” but there are lots of guys that live together. Even around me, I know some people that have roommates. It’s cheaper than paying rent alone, and it’s just easier overall (laughs). The hours they go to work are literally day and night so there is no need for meddling more than necessary. I think they’ve achieved a nice shared livelihood.

—— What do you think Doppo feels about Hifumi’s best-host mode when he’s wearing his suit and his gynophobia side?

Ito: They’ve known each other since forever; Doppo should know why Hifumi has gynophobia. Host, gynophobe, and  his usual mode are the three sides Hifumi has, so Doppo shouldn’t be confused or uncomfortable.

—— There is a scene where Hifumi makes Doppo breakfast, to which Doppo replies with, “Today’s breakfast is grilled salmon, huh?” Did you get the impression that Hifumi often cooks for them?

Ito: On the outside, it looks like Doppo is the one taking care of Hifumi, but it’s actually Hifumi that takes care of Doppo. Like how Hifumi mends Doppo’s suits when they get torn. I’m certain that Doppo is a guy bad at all household chores and decision making, but when he’s out, Doppo is competent. He can contemplate things over and over, and then turn it into action. In the drama part of the first CD, “Matenrou -Clinical Phonetics-,” they head to the apartment of a customer of the host club Hifumi works at. There, Doppo predicted that she would jump and prepared a mat, did he not? How he was able to prepare that in a short time is a bit comedic though (laughs); that was some really good work.

The “Unexpected” Light Shining into the Repetitive Every Day

—— What impression do you have about Jakurai?

Ito: For Doppo, Jakurai is the person he trusts the most besides Hifumi. He is who Doppo consults with, but I also think he’s a mentor. The two of them, Hifumi and Jakurai, help lift Doppo up as they walk together. In the drama part this time, you can feel the depth of Jakurai’s connection to Amemura Ramuda. You really can’t tell if there’s something there, though I think that the incident that caused this connection surely surpasses any imagination. But even though Doppo is curious, he won’t actively push to know. If Jakurai would someday tell him, I think he would be overjoyed.

—— Is Doppo undergoing Jakurai’s counseling right now?

Ito: I believe he is. Since the setting of the BATTLE CD went from Shinjuku Division to Chuuoku, I can’t say if there has been a change in their regular relationship, though I still think it’s needed for Doppo.

—— In the 1st CD, before becoming a member of Matenrou, Doppo performs a rap in front of Jakurai. In his lyrics is the line “Society is cold but somehow it’s warmer now,” what does it mean?

Ito: I actually haven’t heard from Kimura Subaru-san what his thoughts were when he wrote the lyrics. Maybe holding the Hypnosis Mic is like a portal to something unlike what Doppo is used to. And that might be what he’s been looking for in his repetitive daily life. I wouldn’t say that it’s hope, but it’s a ray of light that shines through and reached him; the warmth [he mentioned in the lyrics] probably refers to that.  He must have been very happy when he first received the mic, after everything that happened.  It’s the same for Hifumi I think. Doppo and Hifumi would be first and second place if the characters held an awkwardness competition.

—— In the BATTLE CD were interactions with each of the other divisions. There is a scene where he drinks Busujima Mason Riou’s special-made drink, although it had a taste that made Aohitsugi Samatoki, Iruma Juto, and Hifumi faint, only Doppo was able to drink it without trouble.

Ito: It’s only my idea of what happened, but I think Doppo loves nutrition drinks. Health recovery maybe? (laughs) Taste may come second for a healthy body. Drinking without prejudice and the likes of not being afraid to try things is one of Doppo’s nice points.

—— In the 2nd drama part “Just A Friend,” Hifumi went out at night in Chuuoku and was then chased by women.

Ito: It was nice to know what Doppo would do when confronting women. Ah, of course he’d run. He even screams (laughs).

—— He didn’t seem happy at all, did he?

Ito: Doppo isn’t the type to go out in public, I guess he never thought he would be like an idol.

—— There, they had a chance encounter with Yumeno Gentaro and Arisugawa Dice and had a quarrel.

Ito: Subaru also wrote the lyrics for that part. Doppo’s “I’m sorry” and similar words are a shield making a nice steady style. The recording this time was also fun, I got carried along by Subaru’s enthusiasm in the direction room. We also learned how the two fight in the absence of Jakurai. But it wasn’t the real fight, which is why they didn’t use their full power. Also, Doppo worried about what others think of him, as he understood that this is not the place to fight. These two are still hiding their claws. I wonder if I was able to incorporate that in my acting.

—— Do you have any members you are interested in after this recording?

Ito: I’m a member of Matenrou, but I like Dice. His gambler way of life is great; it’s something I very much don’t think I can do (laughs). Actually, Fling Posse is a burning presence in me, their songs and relationships are also nice. They don’t have a common goal, and with the exception of Ramuda, a novelist and gambler aren’t very Shibuya-Division-like jobs. However, surely for these three, there has to be a reason why it has to be Shibuya.

Lurking in the Dirty City, the Tale of Matenrou continues

—— “BATTLE BATTLE BATTLE” begins with Doppo’s attack.

Ito: It was surprising that I was first. Because it’s the firing shot, the lyrics were a simple attack on Shibuya. There’s a strong feeling of camaraderie in this song. For example, Dice attacked Doppo and Hifumi follows up by returning his lyrics. I thought it was as if the three were really fighting. Also, the three’s final lyrics really stood out. They said, “No matter how hard your past was” --- what was their past like? Why did they become the men of Shinjuku? I hope you have fun imagining it.

—— Doppo’s scream of “Matenrou!” is quite impressionable.

Ito: That was originally not in the demo, but was decided during the recording. It really fires up the atmosphere for a rap battle, no? During the discussion with everyone, we talked about adding more Dopponess into the song, and that’s how it happened. However, Shibuya’s “Posse Posse” is chanted by the whole Fling Posse, whereas I’m doing this alone (laughs).

—— What do you think about the team song “Shinjuku Style ~Don’t Make Me Laugh~”?

Ito: Firstly, the demo which was given to us by Rappagariya was amazing. Usually demos are just the melodies without any effects or arrangements, but his demo was so cool and with lots of effects. It was totally ready to be put into a CD as is. Thanks to that, it was easy to picture the final product. But this song is so difficult. When I was practicing at home it almost made me cry.

—— Have you watched the trailer for this song?

Ito: The video shows the streets of Shinjuku from the point of view of the characters. I am glad that there are also cuts where Doppo is getting on subways and walking up stairs. In those cuts, the camera was facing downwards which was so just like Doppo. Shinjuku, especially Kabukicho, is filled with billboards of portraits and texts. There are even taglines like “profession: hottie.” It’s an interesting place. This song seems scarier than Fling Posse’s team song, maybe Shinjuku is seen as a scary place. When I listen to the song, a picture of Matenrou swaggering together through downtown comes to my mind. However, this might make the other divisions more aggressive against us. Don’t get me wrong, Shinjuku is not scary at all… is what I want to tell them (laughs).

—— Doppo’s solo song, “Tigridia,” from the first CD sure has a different impression from the BATTLE CD.

Ito: I think the Doppo in this song is the everyday Doppo. While he says that he’s walking alone, it’s not actually like that. In terms of time, it could be his song from before he became a member of Matenrou, or shortly after he joined. I myself really like this song. Since I sang this song, it’s a bit embarrassing to recommend it to people, but I recommend it (laughs). To start with the song’s track, it’s very cool, so even just the instrumental version is superb.

—— Is there something you would like to do with “Hypnosis Mic” in the future?

Ito: What I had been wanting to do until now is a live show and it’s coming soon. It’s crazy how we made it all the way to hosting a concert! However, now I am a bit anxious that I won’t be able to sing properly. It’s a great challenge and afterwards, I want to try to hold a live show in Shinjuku. It’d be nice if the venue is related to the characters, but we might be yelled at if we do it in hospitals and offices (laughs). Host clubs might be the most likely to let us do so. And maybe a surprise pop-up concert. I think a flash-mob kind of performance would work for this project. How about it? I want to do it.

—— This time is the reveal of the outcome, what will happen?

Ito: From the songs, I get the image that Fling Posse is pop and Matenrou is shady. Which side will be eliminated is determined by the audiences. I am worried that the shadiness of Matenrou might scare away some people. However, the “women and men of Shinjuku”* who support Matenrou probably already know the charm and the underlying enchantment of shadiness. How Matenrou’s story will develop from this point on, I myself want to know as well. Therefore, please kindly vote for us.

[Lively 4 1/2 Tatami Room] Yuika Mitsumine Full Card Story

Mitsumine’s recent Halloween support SSR was not only a cute seasonal story, but also represented a step forward for Mitsumine and her relationship with the other members of L’Antica. I think it’s also a story many will find relatable -- Don’t we all get a little nervous when invite people over for the first time? I hope you enjoy! 

(Some background: At the time of this card’s release (10/20/19), the fact Yuika is an idol otaku is something she hides from the other idols at 283 Production, including the rest of L’Antica. Also, while not particularly significant to the story, this card’s title reveals the size of Yuika’s apartment. 4 1/2 tatami is equivalent to just under 9 x 9 feet. Her place is tiny!)

Yuika: ......Yes, I can do this! It’ll all be okay, Mitsumine, have confidence! 

Yuika: ──...... 

Yuika: ......Fufu, man.

Yuika: How did it end up like this.

(Flashback.)

Yuika: ......So, these are the reference materials Producer wants us to watch to prepare for acting in that horror mini-drama.

Kogane: Ack......!

Kiriko: Wah......!

Kogane: Hmmm~......! I don’ know if I'm strong enough for this...... 

Kiriko: Kogane-chan......

Yuika: Whew, man...... We're getting spooked just from seeing the covers of the DVDs.

Kogane: It's really required that we watch all these horror movies an' dramas......!? 

Yuika: Yup. They’re our reference material, so. 

Kogane: Hweh~......!

Kogane: I’ll jus', hafta push through it.....

Kogane: Well, I that's what I’d been thinkin’...... But...... ──!

Kogane: Nobody tol' me it was gonna be stuff this scary~!

Yuika: Nfufu......!

Yuika: (They gave Kogatan this job even though she said she’s no good with scary stuff...... The poor thing......)

Yuika: (......Though, she’s still going through with watching everything. That Kogatan’s really got guts......)

Yuika: ──Crap!

Yuika: (Need to hide this stuff away too.)

Yuika: (......So, what’s left...... I still need to clean, and I guess I should buy some guest cups for Kogatan and Kiririn to use, too......?)

Yuika: Hmmm......

Yuika: (......This would be a good opportunity to get a set for all five of us...... It probably won’t be long before I’m inviting the entire unit over, anyway──)

Yuika: ──Uh-oh.

Yuika: Oh, no no no...... Not so fast, Mitsumine...... Let’s not get ahead of ourselves......

Yuika: ......Whew.

Yuika: This really wasn’t what I intended to happen, y’know.

Kogane: I know we gotta watch ‘em...... ! I know we gotta, but......

Kogane: I couldn’t handle watchin’ stuff like this if I’m at home all alone!

Yuika: Ahahah, I feel you there.

Kiriko: ......

Kiriko: Maybe we could all...... Watch them together......

Kogane: ...! Y’all’d be willin’ to watch ‘em with me!?

Yuika: All of us need to watch them anyway. So it just makes sense to watch them together! 

Kiriko:  Fufu...... Yes......

Kogane: Yuika......! Kiriko......! Thanks, y’all~......!

Yuika: ──So, where should we host our little horror screening? Here at the office?

Kiriko: Um, well...... If we do it here at the office.....

Kiriko: ──Other people here might..... Get scared......

Kogane: Kiriko’s got a point.........

Kogane: Imagine if someone came into the office totally unaware an' saw horror on the TV. If that happened to me I'd probably start screamin’......

Yuika: Yeah.....

Yuika: (...... But, in that case, we don’t have a place......)

Kogane: ......

Kogane: ......Well, I guess, we could do it at my place then, like we usually do......

Yuika: Ah──

Yuika: (With Kogatan being so scared, we probably shouldn't watch them at her place if it can be avoided......)

Kiriko: If we can’t do it at Kogane’s place...... Maybe, I could......──

Yuika: (......Then Kiririn lives with her family...... And we’re probably gonna be really loud......)

Yuika: (............)

Yuika: ......Hey, I know! Why don’t we change it up!

Yuika: How about it, you two── Wouldn’t you like to pay your first-ever visit to my humble abode?

Kiriko & Kogane: !

Yuika: Halloween is almost here, too.

Yuika: I don’t think it’ll be anything fancier than us all snacking on candy together, but we could try and make our get-together a bit more festive──

Yuika: How’s a cozy little viewing party at my place sound?

Yuika: (Instead of “Wouldn’t you like to”, I should have said “Would you like to”.)

Yuika: (I just want to keep up my image, is all──)

Yuika: ──Alright, that looks much better! Now, there's no need to worry about them thinking I’m a freak!

Yuika: Be it Kogatan or Kiririn, my apartment’s all ready for you now! 

Yuika: ──I sure hope Halloween gets here soon~.

Kogane: ......H-Huh...... I guess not......?

Kiriko: Y-Yes...... It looks like we were mistaken......

Yuika: No, it’s behind──

Kogane: GYAAAAAAAAAAAA~!?!?

Kiriko: ......Awah!

Kogane: Trickin’ us like that ain’t fair! It jus’ ain’t faaair~~~!

Yuika: A-Ahahah...... ! That was real scary, huh......

Yuika: I thought I'd prepared myself, but it still got me......

Yuika: It sure does...... I guess that’s one way watching these movies is helping us prepare for the drama shoot.

Kiriko: In the drama...... We’ll just have to do our best......

Yuika: Uh-huh.

Yuika: We’ve gotta make like in those movies and run right into all the dangerous-looking rooms -- Or maybe try carrying around an obviously haunted doll!

Kogane: Yuika~! Don’ go sayin’ stuff like that!

Yuika: Ahahah, sooorry.

Kogane: When yer dealin’ with ghosts the best thing to do is try an’ fool ‘em...... ! Or even better, hit ‘em with the ol’ “Trick-or-Treat”!

Kiriko: Yes......!

Yuika: Uh? But why?

Kogane: I hear sayin’ "Trick or Treat” is also a way of wardin’ off evil durin’ Halloween. So I bet it works jus’ as well for wardin’ off ghosts!

Kiriko: It’s the first time...... You’ve ever invited us over......

Kiriko: So we thought it’d be nice...... If we brought you something......

Kogane: Me an’ Kiriko thought of it together!

Kogane: An' if one of them ghosts from the movies tries to pay us a visit, we’ll make ‘em go away with a “Trick or Treat”!

Kogane: Anyhow! Trick or Treat, Yuika~!

Kiriko: Trick or Treat...... Yuika-chan......

Kogane: Here’s the candy we brought, so now it’s yer turn, Yuika~!

Kiriko: Fufu...... Yes......

Mamimi: That reminds me... How did the drama shoot this morning go?

Sakuya: Oh, yes. I’m quite curious to know the details as well.

Sakuya: Please, do tell.

Yuika: ......I’ll tell you what happened, but......

Yuika: Can you both promise that no matter what I say...... You won’t freak out...... ?

Mamimi & Sakuya: ......!

Kogane: Oh c’mon, Yuika~! Don' start talkin’ all weird!

Yuika: Ahahah, I figured you wouldn’t like that.

Sakuya: Yuika......?

Yuika: I’m sorry, Sakuyan! Anyway, it went well! No issues at all!

Yuika: In the studio hallway there were people dressed up as ghosts who'd pop out and try to scare us. Kogatan screamed the whole time. That kinda thing.

Yuika: After the shoot they brought us snacks shaped like ghosts for refreshments, and Kogatan even got freaked by those......

Kogane: Why're ya only talkin’ about what I did!?

Yuika: Well, your reactions were what left the biggest impression......

Kiriko: Fufu...... Yes......

Kiriko: The drama...... Was a scary story......

Kiriko: But the whole time...... I was having so much fun.....

Mamimi: Well isn't that a shame.

Mamimi: Considering I’ve heard that studio is haunted.

Kogane: Hweh~!?

Mamimi: There’s been a lot of ghost sightings there, don’t you know?

Kogane: H-Hweh~~~......?

Kiriko: ......!

Mamimi: Maybe what you saw in the shoot were--

Kiriko: Mamimi-chan......!

Yuika: That’s enough, Mamimin. Kogatan is probably gonna pass out if you keep going. Knock it off.

Mamimi:  Boo.

Yuika: Look, you’re making Kiririn worry too.

Yuika: While I do apologize that our experience didn’t meet your expectations!

Yuika: The three of us have never encountered any actual ghosts, and we didn’t see any during today’s shoot either!

Yuika: Right, Kogatan! Kiririn!

Kogane: T-that’s right!

Kiriko: Yes......!

Mamimi: Well, that’s just too bad.

Sakuya: Fufu. How about this then, Mamimi.

Sakuya: While it won’t be the same as real ghosts, there’s still something spooky we could do.

Mamimi: ......You’re saying we should watch the drama they were in, right?

Sakuya: Ah, it’s as if you read my mind, Mamimi.

Sakuya: What do you think? We can look forward to seeing what they shot today when it airs.

Mamimi: ......Sounds pretty good.

Mamimi: And if I record it, I can have everyone’s terrified faces preserved on my TV forever.

Yuika: Oh hush, just how weak do you think we were?

Mamimi:  Fufu, I guess we’re gonna find out.

Sakuya: Although it will hurt my heart deeply to watch the three of you in peril......

Sakuya: I am really looking forward to seeing the fruits of your hard work.

Kogane: Me too!

Kogane: Though, watchin’ it on my own...... Might be a bit too scary~......

Kiriko: Then......

Kiriko: When it airs...... Let’s watch it together......

Yuika: Ah!

Yuika: Oh hey, in that case! How about this!

Yuika: If it’s cool with everyone, why don’t we watch it at my place──

(Everyone nods.)

I did the challenge and I got 11. I hope that good enough to keep me away from the bottom 5. It sucks that we have 9 people on our tribe which means only 4 people will be safe this round from the warzone. I just want to stay away from it as long as possible. Dont like going there because it is so stressful.

The fact that I’m so close to an idol and now am basically on a deadline to get it in case things go south here is TERRIFYING! I’m separated from my allies except Corey who I like, and nervous on how to do this. Losing the tiebreaker and the fact that I had a 50/50 chance of doing it in 11 guesses is making this feel like a perfect storm that would absolutely lead to a really awful elimination for me. I just gotta work!

Warzone sucks amd I dont like being in it. I feel good hopefully but Im still wary. Warzone still makes me nervous. I have Renee in here so atleast there is someone I can bounce of strategy with out being paranoid. There are people who ive been in warzone with before and others I havent. Matt S. So my first warzone is pretty much as terrifying as I thought. I don’t think my name is in the mix but I’ve never been fully confident in this game. I feel like I can trust Corey and he’s trying to enact this plan to vote Renee. People seem concerned about saving chloe but I don’t really have a preference either way. I'm immune??!??! This challenge always goes poorly for me and here I am. My little gay ass in the Final 18? Like YAYAY? I survived 6 boots which is 1/4 of the game already and I'm living!!! I hope that it can speed up, cause I'm really bored and I really want to find something on this damn idol board and I thought i found sumnthin, but an UGLY already got their grubby hands on it. So I’m back in the war zone again after actually trying for a challenge. My hangman method wasn’t the worst but not the most fantastic. Being in the war zone is not fun. But this time I have people discussing the vote with me so that’s less scary. Maybe I’m gettin somewhere

So far, its been quiet again. But so far Cloe’s name has been theown out because she has already been voted out. I’m good with voting out Cloe. I just hope no crazyness happens the last hrish. Im already being stressed about my project dont need the vote to be stressful.

This round is going to be somewhat hectic. For the first time I feel I am in real danger, let’s see if it works out.

Woot woot, safe again from tribal. I wanted to come into this game and be more social than I have ever been before. I can already see myself struggling with that and I need to work on it. Going into tribal council tonight, I am nervous. I am not letting jacob or madison in on the plan which can only hurt my game in the longrun. I think I jumped the gun with this one but I wanted to strike first as I usually wait but always end up losing allies that way. Hopefully, with damage control, I can be okay. If somehow the vote ends up on me, rip! Can't say I didn't try - I just may have tried too hard too quick. I hope the bonds I have made until now are strong enough to get me to another day here. I am hoping to see Renee walk out - otherwise, Chloe. I just hope I didn't screw up too bad.

This round i am finally not going to tribal!! Two rounds was enough for me. Especially after the last one, that vote was A LOT. Double tribals ain't fun when its one round of voting and two people leave. A whole other strategy goes into that. So Chloe comes back and from retrograde and i was a little nervous because i was part of voting her out. But then I talked to her when she was back and she was really cool, she said she had stuff going on irl which is why she wasn't around which i totally understand because that's been the case for me recently so I am not holding it against her now (because originally that is why I wanted to vote for her when we did). Honestly the fact that she went THAT hard in retrograde to come back really just changed my opinion of her. It definitely showed that she wants to still be here (at least more than Willow did)  and i really respected that. Made me see her in a new light. When I first encountered Renee in this game I was excited to see her, she was excited to see me and we briefly chatted but I wasn't too sure how closely we would be working together. then for this Guess Who challenge Renee asks for my help because she got stuck and asked if i could look over her parameters to see if I saw anything because she was missing something. turns out she did have a miscommunication with the hosts and it got her a less than favorable score and she ended up going to tribal. I briefly talked to Owen about the challenge, just keeping those lines of communication open to suss out if him and i are working together or not. I am still not 100% if we are explicitly working together. I have been unsure about this tribe and safety. I cannot tell if it is normal that no one is talking because we are safe, or if people just are not talking to me. Could be a little bit of paranoia, but I could also just not be desirable for social interactions. Only time will tell, i guess.

Finale - "I. Love. Power." ~Jodi

I'm having a very emotional moment right now, let me just write about my feelings. I spent this entire game countering advantages. Because I wanted to put this game in my own hands. If I had not gotten rid of Dennis in that twist with no advantages, Dennis would've cruised through and when time came, decided to target me when he wanted to and he would have protection. Same with Colin for example, sure, maybe he wouldn't gun for me but he also could've just cruised from Final 7 to Final 4 with his 3 advantages and my fate in this game would've been in HIS hands. If he wanted to keep me he'd do it and if not then he wouldn't. I wanted my game in my own hands, and that's what I did. People kept thinking I was playing a backstabbing game for no reason, but in reality, I just wanted a fair shot at this game and creating my own fate. I don't think that's unfair. Having 9 advantages in the merge as somebody with nothing terrified me, as I suspected they'd all be concentrated in one place. I was not wrong. I rightfully targeted Dennis for having 2 huge advantages, then rightfully targeted Colin for receiving all of Dennis' stuff, then Elle for literally sitting on 2 (suspected) idols and a steal-a-vote. I do not know why I am being crucified for just wanting to have a fair playing field. Even sitting here at final 5, we still have one final idol to counter. When Josh approached me to flip on Colin, Elle, and Amy, I found a light in this game again. Somebody who had the same objectives as I did wanted to play this game with me. He didn't see me as a threat to win, which meant he would've taken me to the end. So many unlucky things happened to me in this game and I just know that people want me out of this game so bad but I just wanted to survive and have a real shot at this. That's all it really was.

I think this is the biggest immunity I need to win. Because if I'm in F4, I think I can at least force fire making. But here today, I believe I need to win it not just to take immunity away from Amy or Elle, but that I think if Jared wins it, my game is literally dependent on a literal 50/50 guess of who the idol is going to be played on. Elle made it obvious that they want to target Jared from last night, so if Anastasia wins it, I might still be ok. I don't want Jared to win this. Straight up. He said he'll cut me at 4 anyways so I'm not going to play with my heart this round. I seriously want this immunity win so bad. You know, I'm sure the jury disagrees and despises me, but I truly think I played one of the most brilliant strategic games, at least for a newbie. I battled 9 advantages with NOTHING in my pocket since merge, with nothing but a social and strategic knack and love for the game of Survivor. At the merge, I got included into a 6-person majority alliance and a 3-person ride or die alliance. I knocked out a guy with 2 huge advantages at F11. I had control over every single pair at F10. I got knocked out at F9 with a CHAOS idol, despite the premise of Survivor being to NOT get votes. I fought back in at F8 as somebody who is incredibly bad at comps. I then voted out one of my #1 allies, the one that would NEVER cut me, even at 4, to create trust and move me further into the game. I created immunity for 3 people at F7 to keep my only 2 close allies left safe, by far my game winning move. I did this and knocked out my biggest competitor without having to write his name down, and with an idol in his pocket. At F6, I had a strong enough alliance to split votes. Unfortunately lost Josh to rocks, but I'm still here. My job at F5 is to either guess correctly to place votes on Amy or Elle or to win immunity. Because at F4, I could at least get Anastasia or Jared to force fire for me. I am so close. So close. 

Ahahahahaha well I have regrets about giving the steal to Elle. One - I forgot to tell them it was good until 5 so elle played it to remove anastasia? (Idk if I've already written about this but oh well) from the possibility of rocks. During the discussion once Josh said that he would vote elle I knew I was going to rocks one because it was fun and spicy and two because they were all set on elle and it seemed josh wasn't really going to vote with us so like it would have been rocks anyway. If I had known the round would be like that I would have held it myself and if I was rocked out lol but if I had it I wouldn't have played it and then elle and myself would be in as much control as is possible at 5. I mean I have the merge idol still plus having 3 of 5 votes please ugh the dream but OH WELL. I cannot wait to just list all my mistakes in this game 🤣🤣🤣 whoopsies. Anyway I'm excited to be immune I'm just worried that the others will just vote out elle because it's easy and / or they will just say to. I have my money on jodi to win this unfortunately because she is so social and would know the most about everyone. And I know nothing about these children bc I was on vacay the whole time. However I also think Jared still has his necklace. I would prefer f3 not have any of the j names lol. However we will see how it goes. I need to get there first and f4 is going to be tough. That's why I want elle still here so we can force fire for more spice. This is such a fun game which consists mostly of me saying whoopsies. I think I am toast at f4. It sounds like either everyone wants to take anastasia or vote her out but I'm about to play the idol and then I just told anastasia I'd go to rocks for her bc people are between wanting to take her or take her out at 4. I can't believe it sounds like elle wants to take jodi to f3 to be spicy like Jodi will win hahahahaha I have been trying to vote her out since the chaos idol but she had such a hold on people you know what congrats to her 🤣 I can't believe she's even still here rn. Jodi made it this far after having been chaos idoled out then won her way back and still was the biggest threat yet everyone wanted to keep her. Then there's me who no one knows I was the cause of the fake idol, the steal a vote (though played WEIRD), the merge idol yet (though they suspect), the mistake of fucking up the colin vote, the mistake of the 150 buy am advantage thing, the mistake of handing away my advantage, the mistake of not just trying to switch it to get jodi out instead of rocks, but yet here I am lol. It would be a fun one to win that's for sure because it's a hilarious story that I legit wasn't going to play at all. Maybe had I not been drinking so much on vacay and prevacay I would have made sounder decisions but sometimes it pays off to not seem as calculating and just blend in. Power Ranking Update:

Jodi: Immunity has given her the ability to dictate who goes home. She is in the middle of two sides right now: Elle & Amy vs. Anastasia & Jared. She’s giving more consideration to Elle & Amy since Jared, apparently, has explicitly told her that he would cut her at Final 4. This has given their relationship a lot of tension. Thus, it seems that Jodi is making the move first before he can make the move against her.

Elle: Doing everything they can to save their own ass. Has decided to make a deal with Jodi that seems to be very tempting and good if they want to make it to the end. Has the most power because they are on the bottom giving them the biggest credibility. This late game allyship will prove very beneficial.

Amy: Is going to idol. Is safe. Not doing much. Just vibing.

Anastasia: She has not done much in terms of planning this round. However, she has correctly deduced that Amy has the idol. Despite that, she is going to be left out of this plan if it comes to it which may put her in a very precarious spot at Final 4.

Jared: Explicitly telling Jodi that he was going to target her at Final 4 was the Wrong (Capital W) move. Now, he is mega on Jodi’s radar and has since been on Elle’s and Amy’s radar. His under the radar game is being exposed by a poor choice of honesty so close to the end.

The second I saw what the challenge was, I knew it was Jodi’s to win. The first thing she said to me was “I studied your game” and then she studied for the buyback, she’s been studying this whole time. Sorry I’ve been drinking at Disney then had 1 hour after work to study and all that helped with was the names one lol. I kept track of the ones that I mathed wrong or knew but the time countdown was too stressful to think and it was 4 meaning we would have tied LOL oh well.I just hope elle doesn’t turn on me and I can at least go to fire. I told anastasia before that I would force fire for her is the others want her gone but if it’s me or her sorry girl.The difficult part is IF I make it out of this tribal, I still truly believe it’s Jodi’s game to win. If I’m in the jury I’m probably voting Jodi but maybe Elle. I have a lot to convince the jury of because I was so behind the scenes. I think I have Dennis and Colin for sure for votes, Babs is a mystery. I think Josh hates us all but I’m the direct reason he was rocked out. Jodi has Brayden and Jared and probably Jay I think. So it would be really tough to beat Jodi. I will have to use the exact arguments that I don’t actually agree with that were used against me in subrosa (though there I wasn’t voted at 9, it was like 24 lol) saying I was at least never voted out and you shouldn’t need to win challenges to keep yourself alive. I will have to use her own words and say it can be seen as being a coward to not commit to a vote and instead try to keep your hands clean (the Jared vote) so whoever survived she could be good with but also good with the jury members even though he straight up said he made Jared play his idol on her to be able to vote him out soon after lol. Idk I’m thinking ahead of myself bc honestly if I were them I’d vote me out right here. I do want to reiterate that I think Jodi is amazing and we play pretty similar game styles overall. I have decided what I'm going to do tonight.... Who ever thought I'd get here? I guess my studying paid off. Tonight is a big tribal council, because it's more nuanced than just sending 2 people to fire or voting somebody out. Whoever wins fire also has a "cherry on top" in terms of a final comp win to earn their spot into FTC, so as a Final Immunity winner, this becomes a dilemma of do I try to take out my biggest threat to win, at the risk of giving them a possible final flashy move? Essentially, the obvious situation is whether or not I send Amy and Anastasia to fire tonight. I owe my life in this game to Anastasia, who was my most loyal ally since I came back into the game. Amy flipped and played Colin's game and is the representative of that "side"'s game. She is definitely my biggest threat for votes. If she goes, she has to go, she can't win fire. Elle won't flip on Amy, Anastasia's not confident, so what do I do? 1) Vote out Anastasia 3-1, fight with Elle and Amy in the end. This option means there's no fire for either Amy or Anastasia to have on their resumes. This option means I must get 5 votes, as Anastasia sitting beside me meant she would've given me the final tiebreaker vote. Elle and Amy vote for each other, so I have to win straight out here. 2) Convince Amy to vote Elle and then me and Anastasia vote Amy in a 2-1-1. Same reason as Elle, Amy won't vote Elle out. She went to rocks for them even while holding an idol! 3) Give my immunity necklace to Anastasia, and ask her to send me to fire with Amy, and I take out Amy myself. This not only robs Amy of the final flashy move (if I win), but I would directly take control of who I want in the final 3. Pulling an Underwood is obviously risky, but for the Amy stans on the Jury, they literally cannot be upset at me if I take her out like this. I've flirted with this idea ever since making Final 4, but of course, there's a really small (but still existing) chance of me getting Erik Reichenbach'd here. I had to gauge how my chances are at the moment and how much they'd change with a successful fire challenge, but alas, in the words of Jay Bee themself, this would be "the most Jodi move" to cap off my game. I won't reveal what I'm doing tonight here, but I promise it's what's going to win me the game. Tune in to tribal council tonight to find out 😈

Im about to be voted off of this game. I did have the choice to go to rocks because Jodi said she would but I really am fine with getting 4th. Power Rankings Update:

Jodi: Her winning immunity was crucial for her winning the entire game. She definitely played the Messiest game out of everyone on this cast, but that has more than earned her a spot at FTC. She is most likely to win out of this Final 4, and her vote will be the most crucial for tonight to determine if this will be fire or Anastasia’s vote-out.

Elle: She is the safest person without immunity tonight. From being targeted at 6 and 7 for having an idol they did not have to being assured FTC, Elle has had a journey from under the radar. They are not at threat of being eliminated from this game with whatever Jodi decides to do.

Amy: She is in a very precarious position now. While Elle will vote Anastasia, Jodi might not. This means that Amy might have to go to fire, but I think she got in good enough with Jodi at this point to be higher than Anastasia.

Anastasia: Most definitely receiving votes.

Wow hahahahahahahaha what a journey this has been. From saying I won’t be playing the game, to saying a have to hard quit by May 28, to winning 3 hunts and knowing where every advantage was, to playing while on vacation literally in Disney World for a week, to avoiding any sort of target from either side somehow, to being here in FTC. Is this how I imagined FTC to be comprised? NO hahaha I still think Jodi is going to run away with it and I have a lot of convincing to do in my speech to try to win over the jury. I had a moment that I was going to have to do fire in my car at f4 haha but I offered Anastasia fire and she didn’t want to do it. Also my original plan to force fire was to try to get Jodi out haha but that girl earned her spot in FTC. I just want to say it’s been an incredibly fun game to play and I’ve enjoyed playing this game with everyone and I hope that I can get to know everyone better when I’m not doing a million other things too. I think my goal in FTC (depending on time limits, Raffy please give me 10 minutes for a speech haha) is to reveal my hunt wins, strategy to keep targets elsewhere, the flip and undercover agent for 3 rounds, being gifted immunity twice, risking my entire game for my allies, not asking anyone to play advantages on me (actually the opposite- please DO NOT play them on me), not needing to win immunities to make it to the end, being in a position to be ale to give away advantages (which benefitted me by making the rest believe Elle somehow had the other idol to ensure the votes were on me instead thus assuring we both made f4 with my idol play), and never being voted out of the game. I want to show thatI played a messy game actually trying to be voted out early with the two alliances set up following my plan of having Dennis and brayden believe I was their ideas all while becoming closer with jodi so she wouldn’t ever go against me. I played deliberately making moves and owning vote outs, never playing only to keep my hands clean. I was on the right side of EVERY vote except Colin - my biggest mistake of the game since had he played his idol there chances are he’d be sitting here too. I want to thank Dennis and the survivor gods for bringing Colin and I together at the perfect time to flip the game completely. I want to show my game was imperfect and I never tried to control people’s every move. I was flexible and worked collectively even going against my trust issues. I put my life in others’ hands and at any point people could have easily turned against me. Frankly I’m not sure why they didn’t. I want to show that I respected everyone and was able to make all the moves I did while being in constant transit or being Epcot drunk. I want to explain that a messy and imperfect game with big moves, never being voted out, many mistakes, hunt wins, a lot of information flowing to me, and a lot of fun in possible and deserving of the title of sole survivor. I kept my cards close as I usually do in games, but I played more risky than ever. Even being in a minority alliance I was never receiving votes nor was my name even being mentioned until it was too late. I’m really proud of the game I played, but I recognize much of the jury might be really bitter toward me and view Elle’s underdog story or Jodi’s power and comeback as more deserving. Either way I think it’s a great F3 and I look forward to a fun FTC. I won’t be stressing as much (hopefully) as my previous FTC. Thank you to everyone who made this game what it was. It might be my favorite game I’ve played even though I still refuse to learn anything about Persona. I look forward to many game nights (if I don’t hard quit skype again lol).

Plus, idk how I'll take it 😂 not like, crying or anything I don't cry in front of people EVER like I'd have to be... idk literally stabbed or something, I'm more worried I won't be able to respond in the "survivor"-y way, and instead I'll go into comfort/validation mode and solutions based conflict management 😅😅. I hope people like my Rites of Passage jokes, I tried to tailor them to every person at least a little. I also people like Ingary, which I'll have 5 dedicated days to plan and prep the rest of it with Dylan 😂 jeez. FTC Power Ranking:

Amy: Amy had the strongest Final Tribal Council out of the three. She exposed a lot of her game to people turning Amy supporters to Amy simps and people who were on the fence about her into people who recognize how well she played. The secrets she kept were very important to reveal as it changed how the game was viewed. She did an excellent job at unveiling all of the shadows in this game, and I think she impressed the jury the most.

Jodi: Jodi did not have a lot to reveal like Amy. Most of Jodi’s game has already been talked about and/or known about as she played very openly and vocally. This made her Final Tribal Council turn into defending her own play style for most of the time she was given. She certainly did demonstrate a lot of passion which is good to sway some people off of Amy with an emotional plea. I think her biggest issue was that she did not adequately acknowledge the flaws in her game that people had and refute those flaws.

Elle: Elle had a very chill vibe at Final Tribal Council. They mostly answered all of the questions in the same way with the same answers. This definitely hurt them as it felt like Elle didn’t explain how they got to the end of their own merit. Instead, they made it seem like her allies carried her to the end rather than anything they did explicitly. They were a Hero to the very end by simply being themselves and hoping that it would net them votes. However, they were definitely the weakest at Final Tribal Council out of the three present.

Episode 6 | Your Social Game Is On 0! - MJ

WHOOPS I KINDA DID THAT, SORRY KEEGAN, YOU DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG I JUST NEED EVERYONE ON THIS TEAM TO BE BFFS WITH ME

also just realized that at final 13 i know well over half of the people in the game..... love that for me!! -close with ali, jonathan, and zoe over here both separately & together -mj obvs -cindi and jay are known quantities -jules is great too -so only ones i don’t know.... silver, zach, asya, nathan & jessie i know i can work with at least half of the ones i know, probably more - only real question mark is cindi cuz she was a little sus originally, and jay i hope is still good but i think he and keegan were close so might have to work on explaining that one. but overall, i feel pretty well set for merge whenever it gets here, and hopefully the next couple votes can get rid of some of those ones i don’t know. onward and upward! we’ll see!!!

I don't really do much text confessionals but I just ranted in my host chat so I'm sending it here. ~~This Round~~ this round is gonna be fun, so much fun, and I won't have to do like any gameplay because I think regardless the trian tribe is going to tribal and I wanna see how that plays out, and then if my tribe goes to tribal I'm gonna dip out using my safety without power and let silver kill an og circi since he's gonna pull out that extra vote however, if asya or jules have an advantage / if mj flips that's fine with me too. I'm still debating playing the solar eclipse. I want to cause chaos, and for what? For no reason. *Moments Later* I spun a wheel to determine what I will do this round, and it landed on not playing the solar eclipse and noping out. that's what I'm doing. now you may ask for the strategic value of letting a circi die? Well, if a Circi goes (or two circis go if it's an andro/circi tribal), I'm suddenly 1/2 of my OG tribe left. People may want to pick me up and use me as a number since I will have no allegiance to anyone. This puts me in a lowkey kind of decent position if I lie and say I was gonna be voted out if I didn't safety w/o power. Also playing a safety without power and claiming the magnet would statistically mean I am less likely to have other advantages since other people had searches stockpiled for the swap I'll probably test the waters for a bit after immunity results and then play the magnet to make it look like it wasn't planned and I just got a bad feeling. In other words: I'm turning the crackhead dial-up, it's time for fun! I swear to god if we don't merge after this round I will scream. ~~Planning for the Future~~ oh my god it could be a 10 person merge. because the merge episode is usually episode 8. we're on 6 but that wouldn't make sense to prevent a 5 > 1 person tribe from occurring and 5 votes in a swap seems like a bit much. I feel like at this point I know I probably won't win this game but I'm gonna give them hell while I'm here playing well is boring People on this cast that will probably try to kill me: Cindi, Jay, Nathan, Maybe Jesse? I haven't really spoken much to MJ or Silver, chances are my closest ally is going home this round, Zoe Jonathan and Ari may pick me up if I'm from a minority tribe but dump me very quickly. From my POV the cards are not in my favor, all I have are my advantages so the path of chaos is more beneficial plus I'm sure it's spread I'm pretty good at immunities in merge so they're gonna try to take me out early on like round 1 or 2, So if I want any chance I need to play the following way Since I cannot depend on social connections as much as I normally would 1. Make sure my existing social connections are voted out so that I am not in the group where I don't have the best social connections but I have enough that it is worrisome 2. Play my advantages early in merge if I don't win immunity, cementing myself as a big target 3. Convince people that nobody will take me deep into the game because I have placed myself in the position of a big target 4. Try to get the people that would be 100% against me voted out, while also watching Andro tribe majority. Basically making Andro and Trian fight each other 5. Win immunities near the end and somehow make it deep??? That's my best case scenario at this point in my opinion.

So like we won immunity . Wow see what happens when we actually try? Isn’t that nice . Idc who goes really I can make new bonds or whatever with people if silver goes but in the ideal scenario he will stay. But tbh I have no power over what happens tonight so I don’t care. Hoping merge happens next

Having to remind myself that is entirely okay to be vengeful and even be blinded by revenge in these games. I've become way too soft for these things in the past couple of years. As of right now, tonight's tribal council should be 2-1-1, since Zach is skipping -- 2 votes for Silver (Asya, Jules), 1 vote Jules (Silver), and 1 vote Asya (me). If Silver's 50/50 coin lands on SAFE, the it’ll tie between Aysa and Jules and I think I’ll get auto-eliminated if it’s rocks instead of a 1v1 tiebreaker, and I’m OK with that I think! If it lands on NOT SAFE then Silver is leaving, period! And Silver deserves to leave, and I shouldn't feel nervous about taking this shot, no matter if it backfires or not. It makes me feel icky to think that Nathan, Jessie, and Silver were in cahoots from the very start and I didn't care enough to control my own game because I've become too accustomed to jellyfishing my way through ORGs to avoid being pinpointed as a leader or strategist. I'm putting my foot down tonight. I'm taking this shot and if it works, then it's merely the beginning of the end for half of the remaining cast as far as I'm concerned. If it backfires, then oh well, at least I tried something here. NO REGRETS! Anyway, just had the first alliance call with Aysa and Jules and it was great! Good vibes! We just chit-chatted and discussed strategy and previous dynamics. It will be a shame if we don’t get to push forward together after tonight. I’m also telling Silver right now not to play the 50/50 befcause if it doesn’t land on safe then the vote will be 3-2 if Aysa is lying; and if Aysa is telling the truth then he’s wasting a power that he could have later on. It kinda makes no sense for him to use the 50/50 considering the information he’s being told. I’m fine with pitching this to him because he said he was 100% gonna use it anyway, so me telling him not to will either leave things the same or result in him not using it at all. There’s no losing there. The only way to lose is if it lands on safe. The savage in me is saying, no MJ don’t let yourself get auto-eliminated if things go south, CUT JULES! And I realize that that’s exactly how I should be thinking given the first two lines of this confessional!!! But I wanna be a risk taker. I’m fine with this blowing up because the potential reward is greater than me being auto-eliminated. + Jack was rocked out last season so it would be cute to match that if it comes down to it! I hope it doesn’t, but it’s fine either way. I feel like this game owes me. Silver's 50/50 will not land on safe.

okay, here's the plan. silver has the glowing orb 50/50 coin thing. i expect him to play it. silver's voting me. im voting silver and so is asya. mj is king of the key here. if mj votes silver and the orb makes him safe, then im gone. if mj votes asya (hang on, ive just had a realization and just had to sit in silence for a while whilst i process it.) okay. if mj votes asya and the coin makes silver safe, it'll be 2-1-1, with a tie between me and asya. which im just now realizing could send it to rocks where mj would be the one leaving............. boy howdy, sure wish i knew how to count. okay, yeah. we'll just hope that the coin lands on NOT SAFE -or- he doesnt play it at all. mj and asya are telling him that they're voting me out, so maybe he'll feel comfy enough not to use it. i dont WANT asya to be voted out, but it's better than me or mj being the vote. if mj gets rocked out by default because i didnt realize how to count....... oops!!! but silver has a bunch of advantages, so him getting voted out would flush those out. asya has an immunity shard and id like to think that she'd will it to me if she gets voted out, but eye dee kay!

AHHH sorry this is coming so late but I've had a busy busy few days, and luckily I've avoided tribal during this time lol So before I was feeling a bit shaky on this tribe, I felt like everyone was more connected to each other than to me. But as it turns out, that's completely untrue and I feel very at the center of this tribe. Nathan and I have had multiple long talks recently where we've decided that we want to stick together deep into this game, and he's given me some info about how he and Silver gave up their immunity shards to Jessie, so she has an idol now. Cindi and I have a connection from our original tribe too and I've been keeping up on that relationship too. I gave her a clue I found during an expedition but nothing really came of it since it's, as far as I can tell, impossible to decipher. If we did end up going to tribal, I would have made a push to take out Jessie TBH, even though she has the idol. I feel like even if Nathan wasn't for it, they'd go for Cindi and not me. But luckily that doesn't matter because we're immune and likely heading for a merge in the next 30 minutes. And if not a merge, than another swap bc I think y'all hosts anticipated that one tribe could have lost all of the last 3 immunities and I don't think you want a 2 person tribe at the f11. But yeah I feel really good about my place in the game, I want Nathan to be my shield for the time being bc he's so vocal and strategic that he will always be a target ahead of me.

i'm already forgetting to search for the idols, i'm already getting paranoid about if i need to start making alliances instead of just enjoying the really cute convos i'm having with ruthie lily and kevin (max is kinda dry and annoying but... we'll try to make it work ig).... and i'm already hating every challenge we do especially this one although i actually really liked the challenge it was so creative and fun, i just hated that i have bad luck and am stupid with the deduction things, HENCE why i havent looked for the idol yet. LOL. so.... tl;dr - things are going perfectly! this hufflepuffle is workin exactly as he should!

I just wanna say we really are the hufflepuffs. 114 moves in like 5 hours, but we did it.  Really proud of Ruthie, Landen, Kevin, Max, and I! Sending positive vibes to slytherin. Hope they are okay in this madness.

Yo my tribe? Kinda dope. I think that everyone worked really well together today! I think Joanna kinda took the lead and some of her ideas were... a choice. But! It got us first place! I think that this tribe has a good shot of getting to swap unscathed.

With Slytherin going to tribal, I really hope that someone I don’t know goes, but at the same time I’d be okay with Jess going? I feel like she’s such a sleeper threat in most games I’m in with her and I really just don’t want to compete with that this time around.

I kind of snapped and got myself an idol good until final 6 teehee.

BOTH ARE HALF TRUE. Just in case he doesn't put 2 and 2 together and now I went from place to place on purpose. He's gonna think now I gave him something of value and I know he's gonna think "No way someone go an idol on day fucking 3".

CONFESSIONAL 1.1 — Walking into the Great Hall, I saw a few familiar faces... for not good reasons!

First Jacob, who I know from tengaged. He and I were in a similar friend group for a short period before he left it, but we had a rocky relationship. We flirted a bit (blame 16-year-old Nicholas), but that is in the past.

Secondly, Jess... who I just directly sent home in Eve’s The Challenge: Fresh Meat. She did not have great words to say to me (such as I’m condescending), so I was very wary and, honestly, unhappy with her being here.

But, as Kylie Minogue says, it’s better the devil you know.

Flash forward to the Sorting Ceremony, and I’m so happy to be.. Slytherin? I told Mister Vintage (Sammy) and Mister Heinen (Caeleb) that I’m either a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but I suppose I’ve been lying to myself.

Then, I see my tribe: both Jess and Jacob are present. This is a curse wrapped in a blessing wrapped in an enigma. And, I love it.

I hate, hate, hate conflict and bad vibes, so I directly spoke to both. Jacob did not easily recognize me, but remembered me fondly; so, a successful reacquaintance. Jess, on the other hand, was definitely more apprehensive (as was I), but I made one thing clear: the past is the past, and I am declaring my loyalty.

I have been hurt in previous games by shoving the past aside while the other is still grudgingly aiming for revenge, but I feel Jess is different. She apologized to me about her words, which did hurt, and I apologized to her. What I said was honest, so I’m glad to see a fateful blossoming.

The first reward challenge is revealed, and honestly, I’m really bad at participating in pre-merge competitions, because I do not mind tribal. However, I do want to, since we are such a small tribe, focus on maintaining our numbers in case of a swap. We came in second this reward, and honestly, I’m glad to have eaten cupcakes (although I hate cherry). The fact we all chose a dessert and were privately messaged makes me assume someone received an advantage, but who knows...

What I DO know is that I had two separate relationships, so I wanted to lock a trio down (Me, Jess, Jacob), but I obviously did not want to gamebot this early and make the chat day one. So, naturally, i waited until after immunity.

Speaking of immunity... I took charge, because I like it, but also, I wanted to be able to take blame if we lost. I hate the whole “let’s vote someone out cuz they cost us a virtual challenge” this early in the game, it’s a cheap way to vote. I want to vote on loyalty and activity instead. That’s why I am probably going to target Jessie or Vi, but I‘m unsure as to which will be my vote. On one hand, Vi is much less social, but she also contributed a lot to the challenge. I do not want to judge a book by it’s cover, so I will reach out to her and assess her vibe.

I like going to tribal first, because my philosophy is that it’s better to test loyalties now, rather than guess loyalties later.

Regarding other players, Jules and Juls just played in a mini with me and sheeped the majority alliance to screw me over, so I’m not feeling them right now. Bitterness doesn’t exist in my mind: play well and I respect it; sheep and be stupid, and I will gladly dish out the karma. 

I’m satisfied with the happenings of this game so far, and I hope to make it further!! This is one of my first real orgs so, I’m em definitely excited. x. nick

Yay we won immunity. Raffy do be carrying our tribe though!

WELL WELL WELL!!!!!!! as far as my relationships go which is where i left off last round, really nothing much has changed about how i feel about or view my tribemates, but in exciting news... we won immunity!! i am not going to be first boot that is so nice, and im hoping that we can keep winning immunity until a swap so I can feel more secure. I think I could stand a shot if we lost on this tribe but i think if so the vote would split 3-2 i dont think i can get a unanimous vote on anyone unless its myself which is NOT WHAT WERE TRYNA DO HERE !! if anything i feel like i have the best chance to wiggle myself in with the girls (lily and ruthie) Max would probably be my ideal first vote if we ever lose an immunity because I know landen can be useful in challenges, but he YET AGAIN addressed me with a name that does not sit well with me he called me a "challengewhore" yet another reference to TS 2020, so this is not a good sign. Ideally I could get landen out and still be set but i know he has a relationship with juls who i also have a relationship with and wish to continue to have in this game, and us going against each other could make that more stressful than it needs to be because i know landen avenged beck for voting juls out maybe juls would do the same for him? Much to think about, but thankfully i dont have to think about it all that hard because yet again we ARE SAFE !!! woo, anyways thats pretty much it hopefully we can keep winning :D

Ahhhh safety feels so nice, I’m glad that I’m not in danger of being the first boot. Also I love the fact that ravenclaw won the first challenge with so little moves HAHA!

I want to go far in this thing with lily and with kevin, my goal right now is to get to merge and owen be alive so I can work with him!

I am very happy to have won this immunity challenge. We barely won, but I managed to pull my tribe to a victory. Emphasis on the "I" part. I am very frustrated with my tribe's lack of challenge activeness and ability. If the time did not work for them, then I do not know why they even suggested doing it at 2 PM. This challenge would have gone faster if I had done everything myself. In the end, though, I hope this helps in me staying in the game because I am a necessity if they want to ever win a challenge in first place. I highly doubt that they could do it without me.

So I’m currently writing this with one hand because my cat decided to lie on my other one  anyways Nobody is really talking about the vote which means it’s probably me going but I’ll see what I can do to change that

Here's a breakdown of my first few experiences since I am writing this a few hours before the first tribal council.

FIRST I was cast in this game along with a BUNCH of people that are icons across different formats of Tumblr Survivor - so that's intimidating. Mostly because my play style is kinda vanilla in comparison. I gotta find a way to stand out or I'm going to be thrown out fast.

SECOND There's a twist that will probably have some major effect at some later point in the game where everyone is added to the Great Hall. I think that it's for convenience of posting things like results and challenges so it only has to be sent to one chat... but also so that we can feel THEMATIC which is a lot of fun.

The game started in the Great Hall and we got sorted into our houses and the implication was that it's random but.. I don't think it's entirely true if I can read into what the hosts said to me once I was sorted into Gryffindor (something about running out of room in Hufflepuff) - because I definitely didn't say Gryffindor in my application.

THIRD My tribe has the following people: Joshua, Juls, Raffy, Autumn, and myself. 

I do not know how many of theme said Gryffindor when they applied but also did not want to bring it up to them as I am masquerading as a brave idiot. :D

Anyway, I started conversations with all of them and they all seem very sweet!!

I've played in a game before with Raffy where he was super snakey but also a great ally until he tried to snake me. So there's that... he's also an "over the top" type of person so he takes charge a lot of the time and voices his opinions about everything. I hope we can create some sort of working relationship in the game, but I think that he will tell me the truth if he does align against me.

Autumn is super chill and super strategic-minded. She puts lots of thought into all of her decisions and makes calls that benefit her getting to the end while trying to align with the right people. If I can't get to the FTC of this game... TBH I want to make sure she gets there. I played with her in one game and we both were tossed out one after another when the game turned on our "side". I don't think that relationship will factor into this game as it was forever ago and we both kinda play "new" every time we start a game but I'm hoping she will want to try and play with me just because I've seen how great she is at the game.

Juls is a very fun person who seems to always be having a great time! I found out she lives in Texas too and that she was excited to get to know me because we are from the same state. I was like.. do I know you? Because when she messaged me the way she did implied that she knew who I was and I was thinking OH NO what have people said.

Joshua seems really sweet. He hasn't added incredibly much to conversations so far with him but he has contributed some fun things. I love that he tries to be entertaining, but as I see it so far he's the first person I'd be willing to vote out if it came to our tribe going to council... though of course, having said that I bet they've all declared me their first choice.

FOURTH The reward challenge was the Letter plus Number challenge so as predicted...

I did terribly and earned 0 points for our tribe and was SO happy it was not for immunity.

The immunity challenge was a Choose Your Own Adventure Puzzle.

We got a slow start in that I feel like everyone was afraid to make a move because that would put a target on whoever "failed for the team". Then me and Raffy kind of got things rolling with him taking the main leader role and me taking on a secondary role either agreeing with his suggestions or contributing a suggestion for what we should do.

There was a misunderstanding with the competition and we ended up making a whole bunch of extra moves because it was unclear to us that the letters we found at a later part of the challenge were able to be changed into numbers at a lockbox so we did a bunch of extra stuff... and I was resigned to the fact we were going to the first tribal when we go surprised that Slytherin... DID WORSE!!! O_O

Anyway... I still have no alliances or confirmed "working game" relationships and I really don't feel like starting those conversations at the moment so if I am out of the ones established or on the bottom of one that will add me to "pick me up" for later votes then I blame myself for not trying hard enough in that category.

FIFTH I definitely didn't just now search for the idol and waste two days that I could have searched other times. Nope! Not me!! :)

Anyway I went on a trip to Hagrid's Hut because I love me some Hagrid and I figured he'd let me in since I"m a Gryffindor and he loves us the best (you know, like a reverse Snape)... I dug through all of his junk and found his umbrella. Apparently I liked that it was pink and then left his hut. 

To be honest, I probably should have taken his dragon's egg and turned him in... maybe could have gotten him fired.

Someone finally got me to come out of retirement- can you believe it

It's been cute so far and I have no complaints, probably cause the hosts wisely put me, Owen, and Dan in separate corners lmao. Yooo if we all make it to merge?? Hell hath no fury. But we will cross that bridge when we get there! And for now I enjoy the calm before the storm. I deadass forgot how to be an org so I need all the time I can get to socialize and reacclimate. Me checking Skype more than once a year? Don't remember ever doing that. I love Raffy, it's always good to see Chips, I think I like Juls, and I'm not sure how I feel about Joshua but it's fine. I like Gryffindor cause we have no beef and I hope it stays that way.

Blind Date Gaming: Race Days

Oof. The perils of blind dating present themselves in the randomness of your match. Sometimes you get a win and hit it off with your date; sometimes, invariably, you get paired with a bad fit. Today's date was a major blast of the latter. But I get ahead of myself. Let's focus on what my date had to offer during our long night together.

Oh, hello there, Race Days! As the name hints, it's a racing game. Now, I'm really not much for racing games. They never clicked with me much, and thus I have little experience with them. Perhaps this title will be the one that changes my mind a bit?

So this game is actually two in one. The first game is 4 Wheel Drive, one of those first-person driving games where 60% of your action space is the dashboard of a car. At least in this game you see the track map, I guess? It's like having an oldschool GPS in your car long before Google Maps was a thing!

17th place. Because we need 18 vehicles in our racing game for some reason? What is even the color of a participation ribbon for that rank?

Well, it starts off rough. Like 4 FPS rough. You slog through the slow-updating track, driving a chunky jeep around 17 other chunky jeeps in an... err... 'adrenaline-pumping' race. Your primary salvation here is that you get on-screen cues for turns. Without that, I probably would have ended up on some toll road without cash, resulting in some passive aggressive bills being sent to me in the mail. Honestly, though, you'll be paying attention to these signals more than the road since the road blends into the offroad area pretty seamlessly. Only the crappy sound effects will tell you that you're off the pavement.

See this? There's only 1 lane here. The rest is dust or something? Good thing they painted divider lines in the desert.

The other jeeps don't present much challenge, though maybe it was because I was playing in easy mode. Hey, don't judge! I know my weaknesses and play around them! Still, they do have weird hit boxes. Or maybe it's YOUR jeep that has a weird hit box? Perhaps this truck I'm in is some weird import made to host a whole party in the back, thus it's much wider in the body. Well, whatever, this party sucks and my jeep needs to go on a diet. I guess it'll be lighter fuel from now on!

You CAN sort of total your jeep if you act like a goon and keep ramming NPCs. Hope you have good insurance!

So that's basically it, I guess. Due to time constraints, I only played one set of tracks. None of them were particularly memorable or fun to drive on. There are no real mechanics that make this game stand out unless you're looking for a racing game with invisible tracks. I did ace the cup, though, so I guess I have a new trophy at my drab-colored ranch house in the 'burbs on Minnesota (or wherever Jeep-owners usually live).

Ohhh-kay, so that's a bold choice of visual presentation right off the bat. This beaut is called Dirty Racin', which I assume might be like Dirty Dancing? Probably doesn't have any romance though, unless it's got like Nascar fans severely crushing on Dale Earnhardt the third. Is there a third one? I assume Nascar drivers have titles like the Dread Pirate Roberts or something. Maybe not. (Apologies if I have insulted racing fans somehow; disclaimer: I'm severely out of my element here.)

Like in 4 Wheel Drive, you get to choose a difficulty. After the ease of Jeep Racing Simulator 2000, I decided to be adventurous and go with 'Hazardous'. I don't want to disappoint the cool dude on the options screen who is constructed out of straight lines by choosing easy mode. But wow, that guy is entirely made out of straight lines. The art team here clearly earned their keep.

So what's this racing game about? Overhead racetracks, apparently. It's you and 3 other cars on a bunch of different tracks, trying your best to outmaneuver each other for a coveted first place victory. Unfortunately, there's only 2 lanes of space, though, so you end up colliding with your opposition all over the place.

Luckily for me, the first couple races just require you to not get last place. I hate the controls in games like this, so I am naturally terrible at this game. I pull through and squeak a third place due to dumb luck, though. Then I'm greeted by some amazing sex idol racing queen that is in no way poorly drawn and clearly epitomizes the breast part about racing. I mean best part. Best part! She offers me car upgrades with the coins I found lying along the racetrack. Let's ignore how a speeding car can safely pick up these caches of money.

After this, I travel to the next event, which is a series of 3 races. I have to place first overall to win and unlock more tracks on the map. Okay! Let's do this!

Nope, this bites

After a series of horrible losses, I tried to back out and see what else I could play. I mean, there was a second direction to go; maybe the other track is better? But no, the game over screen only lets you try the same race again or quit entirely. So you either have to grind it out and win on that specific map or you have to start over from the beginning. Excellent news. Well, I opted to flee and try a lower difficulty. Surely I can make some ground h-

Yeah, screw this game

I gave up after noticing the AI isn't remotely different in the lower difficulty. Moreover, I started fuming and compounding a list of things I hate about this game! What a joy to be spending time with it. Please let me rant and release this pent up anger. It's therapeutic and I need to vent worse than a racecar with an overheating engine.

All opponents have better handling and stats than you. You need to upgrade your car to even be at the same level as them.

All bumps, be they into walls or other cars, up your damage meter; more damage means a malfunctioning car. You CAN get damage fixed after a race for cash, but doing so pretty much depletes your funds and you get no upgrades. Which means you're STILL at a disadvantage over your opponents.

You always start at fourth place. This means you have to contend with 3 other cars hogging the road space, blocking you and making it hard to get a foothold.

You can't replay levels you beat. This means no grinding for coins or leveling up.

There are only two single races available at the start, both of which have the low bar of making third or higher. After doing those, you MUST do a 'win 1st place in these three races' level to progress.

You can activate nitro for a quick boost, but it's pretty useless since the AI almost immediately activates their own and overtakes you with their better handling and blocking.

Opponents seem to gain higher speed if they're behind you. Like, their non-nitro max speed actually increases, so they easily overtake you.

You can bump into special flashing walls for powerups, but some of them are useless. The best one gives you superspeed for the rest of the match, but it's so fast I can't control it well. I just ended up bumping into walls like mad and upping my damage, all the while having the AI overtake me anyway.

Whew. So there's that embarrassment. I'm sure some of you are laughing at me since this game is probably child's play, but I just can't do it. The GameFAQs guide even says that all difficulty modes are super-easy, so it must just be me. I never got higher than third place. In the end, this was a steaming pile of garbage for me that I wouldn't date again if it was the last form of entertainment left in the world. Not even Upgrade Lady can sway my decision to let this one die forever in a horrible roadside crash. (Okay, so that definitely offended some of you; apologies again!) Take this Sprite of Passage and forget about this game forever. Don't worry, it deserves it.

Episode 1 - “Let’s hope I’m not getting voted out” - Czern

Honestly I’m just sitting here so hyped that Austin is on my tribe . I know I can actually trust this man which is good . I’m hoping I can vibe with people on my tribe so I don’t end up an early boot . For some reason I think I may actually have a shot this season we shall see ! I’m gonna start reaching out to people and hopefully I give off good vibes !

I guess I'll just give my first impressions of everyone on this tribe including those who I know from the other tribe. Jay - Long ago we played a game together, but I can't really remember his style. I don't think our "pre-existing relationship" will help in any way Czern - A king who I hosted. He's not much on the social side of things so I can see that as an easy boot, but he could be someone that I can make trust me very easily Alex - He's fine I guess Mac - He's a threat. He got POTs and 6th? He needs to go soon. I'll try to get on his good side so he won't see a blindside coming though. II'm keeping my eye on him Ben - Who? He seems like a dudebro and I don't get along with those people. We shall see Dylan - My hosting buddy!! We'll see if they are playing INV or a complete rat. I know they're a flipper so I can't put all of my faith in them Paolo - Someone I know in real life who I brought into the community? Wild. He's a chaotic player for sure. And I am a chaotic player. Maybe we'll vibe together. Maybe not. Hopefully our chaoses come together rather than oppose one another. Zach - Maybe so At the end of the day, without a challenge, I'm just trying to be social and make myself liked by the tribe. It seems to be working so far, but who knows when being liked will turn into being a threat. I think, right now, I don't see myself working with any of these people long term except for Mac. But, as I said, he's a threat, but I could use him as a shield. For now, just focus on being liked and do well in the challenges! (Also this all-male tribe is actually disgusting and I want off of it immediately)

Hello everyone, my name is Mac, and I’m here to outwit, outlast and outplay this cast. On the other tribe I have someone who is new to the ORG community that I know well. Like, REALLY WELL. The stunning Liam. Liam and I, if we both get to the merge undetected we could slay this entire game. Now. The Osbourne tribe. I am friends with Alex. Lovely person. Do I trust Alex? Not really. No. Alex made a F3 alliance with Alex, Ben and I and I don't wanna be  thrown into a F3 with two friends, and I only know one of them. I kinda know Jay, but not enough to consider him a friend. Czern and Raffy are super quiet. I’ve heard Raffy plays like a crackhead which is fun, I’d rather have Raffy as an ally, or drop him early, who knows we’ll see. Love this game and ily all xoxo <3

So the first challenge is counting. I’m aight at math and I think I can count to 10 so I got this in the bag. I can’t exactly strategise except for social game at this point SOOOO I’ve decided to work my social game ELSEWHERE. I’ve decided to advertise for my Tengaged Group Game (with my Tengaged soulmate Liam) by sending the VL messages to go apply! I’ve also made a forms “application” to apply to be in the HOST CHAT!! How exciting! I got 20+ apps within two days (one person was like 10 of them but shhh). I’m very pumped for this game, Lowkey my tribe I feel is easiest to...manoeuvre. I wouldn’t say manipulate. Manoeuvre. I wanna try get to know them on a more personal level before anything. But honestly I learned my lesson in my past Survivor org to never stay to one ship. If it looks like it’s sinking, JUMP YOU SILLY GOOSE!

Im very worried about something...there may be no Music Video challenge! Don’t get me wrong I’m a shy bitch, but like, it’s very fun to lipsync and perform 💅 but I won’t be able to play any *good* music like Ariana, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa or Britney with all these straights. This tribe doesn't seem very social which works perfectly for me. This means that being the most social one will benefit me in the early game. For this challenge, I know not to fuck up and I know the strategy, but I fear that these newbies won't which will be a drag. Hopefully we can pull out an immunity win so that I can further situate myself as a pillar to this tribe

My tribe lost. I was mostly quiet in the challenge because I don’t wanna stick out like a sore thumb. I kinda know Jay, and I’m in a trio with Alex and Ben so we should be good. I wouldn’t mind if Czern or Raffy left ngl. If I leave first ill...riot.

So. I feel like I’m in a decent position. Talking to Alex he and Ben apparently wouldn’t mind Czern leaving. That’s great news as I’ve talked to him the least. Alex and Ben are a duo with me as their third. Taking to Jay, he wants me and Raffy around. Am I...going to potentially be in 2 trio alliances? That’s so GOOD! I wanna talk to Ben more and Raffy more. Make it look like I’m down with either trio. If Czern leaves and a F3 is made with myself, Jay and Raffy, then boom I’m the one in power!

I mean making sure your the vote is important. But to use connections to set you up well in the tribe, honey that’s a 4D chess move! It’s spooky szn and this first tribal may show a division if it’s not unanimous. If I make moves without people realising then that’s hot.

So we lost the challenge. Honestly, I feel fine because I have been social and it seems like people like me. I feel Ben should go because I've barely talked to him and he basically ruined the challenge by always wanting to do evens and didn't just quit it when it wasn't working. I personally blame him for the loss because he just didn't take a breath and leave things be. Plus, I don't think anyone has been talking as much with him or Alex. However, I'm just going to keep my opinions to myself and let the target fall on them as it will.

Last night was the immunity challenge and it went really well for us! We didnt even mess up and very quickly took to the tactic that is easiest to win. Everybody speaks in order! We were talking after and were actually worried that with the time being shorter, other teams would talk quicker than we did and beat us. However, when the scores came out it was 182, 46, and 15. I'm really proud of our tribe and us reaching near 200! Though I am sure this is one of the few challenges where us having fewer people is helpful. Hopefully our entire tribe can make it next challenge!

The names going around the tribe are Czern and Ben. I've talked only to Alex and Jay so far. Alex says that Ben said Czern's name. I don't want Czern to go because I feel like I can make him trust me very easily. Jay prefers Ben to go because he doesn't want to vote for Czern two times in a row. Also, Jay told me that he and Mac want to start a potential alliance with me. This means my social abilities are working!! This alliance will make me feel very secure for the rest of pre-merge as it's a strong three that easily claims the majority in this tribe. Hopefully, this is the first alliance in my tribe and I'm not playing into someone's hands, but I doubt that would happen. Score one for Raffy

As tribal approaches, I am getting more nervous. There's barely been any chats, but that may be do to these people being slightly antisocial. Or it has something to do with this being an easy vote? I don't know. I am just getting a sinking feeling in my gut. But it also doesn't make any sense to get rid of me since all I've done is be social. Hopefully, everyone is telling the truth and I can just worry about the next immunity challenge.

Apparently Mac and Alex know Ben personally, so they want to get rid of Czern because they don't know him and that's a bunch of bullshit and is not fair to Czern. Ben has been so inactive and he didn't pull his weight in the challenge. We're going to lose again if he stays! But I'm not one to rock the boat. I feel bad for Czern, but I'm not risking my position in a cozy new alliance for him. Though I am more aware than ever of Mac and his threat status. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. He's going down and I'm going to be the one to do it eventually. In any case, I'm glad to finally be in an alliance that seems strong and trusting. It is with me, Jay, and Mac called Jam Rocks. We'll see how the chips fall.

Regis Philbin, boisterous television personality, dies at 88 Lauren Wiseman  2 hrs ago

Regis Philbin, the boisterous television personality who gained a devoted following on his long-running morning show and helped reinvigorate the prime-time game show genre as host of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” died July 24 at 88.

The family confirmed the death in a statement released by a personal representative, Lewis Kay. Further details were not immediately available.

Mr. Philbin’s trademark blend of enthusiasm, quick wit and excitability made him a popular television host for more than six decades.

Initially a page on “The Tonight Show” hosted by Steve Allen, he became one of the most seasoned performers on live television. He was an actor, a singer and nightclub comedian before emerging to greater prominence in the late ’60s as second-banana to entertainer Joey Bishop on an ABC late-night talk show that tried to challenge Johnny Carson’s ratings dominance on NBC.

Mr. Philbin spent many years hosting a morning show in Los Angeles before he returned to his native New York in 1983 to take over a failing morning show on the local ABC-TV outlet in New York. He had two short-lived female co-hosts before teaming with Kathie Lee Gifford in 1985.

Three years later, the program was nationally syndicated as “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.” Mr. Philbin’s exclamatory, teasing, air-chopping personality played well against Gifford’s much-younger sex appeal and irreverence, and they thrived on small talk about news in the headlines and what Mr. Philbin called “the aggravations, the slights, the family stuff” in their own lives.

They conveyed the chemistry and appeal of a married couple comfortable with each other’s idiosyncrasies.

“I couldn’t decide if he was obnoxiously adorable or adorably obnoxious,” Gifford wrote in her memoir.

For his part, Mr. Philbin told The Washington Post: “She does get on my nerves once in a while, as I do hers. But what I hate is the hosts who are too civil, too nice to one another. I like to keep an edge between us. And if it looks like there’s an antagonistic thing, well, maybe there is.”

Each morning, the show would open with an unscripted “host-chat.” Mr. Philbin refused to talk with his co-host until they were seated in front of the live audience, enabling spontaneous, off-the-cuff conversation.

Part of the appeal was Mr. Philbin’s ability to make fun of his enthusiasms, particularly for his alma mater Notre Dame, and the fact that so much of the daytime competition was reveling in the tasteless and tabloid.

“That was the year of discontent on television,” Mr. Philbin told Entertainment Weekly about the start of his long run with Gifford. “Geraldo [Rivera] was breaking his nose, Phil [Donahue] was walking around in a dress, Sally [Jessy Raphael] was walking around with hookers, Oprah [Winfrey] was losing 65 pounds. And here we were talking about what we did last night! Who cared? But I knew that if they could just watch us two, three times in a row that we could hook our share of the audience. And we did.”

Washington Post television critic Tom Shales wrote in 1992: “Not racy, not freaky, not remotely tawdry, the syndicated daily hour of small talk and tomfoolery has become one of television’s least disheartening hits, and the reason it’s succeeded has everything to do with the wacky cranks at the heart of it.”

Gifford left the show in 2000 to pursue other interests, including a singing career. The show, renamed “Live With Regis,” continued for the first year with guest co-hosts, including Mr. Philbin’s second wife, the former Joy Senese. He teamed with a new partner, former soap opera actress Kelly Ripa, in 2001, and their show “Live! With Regis and Kelly” aired for a decade.

In 1999, Mr. Philbin began hosting the ABC prime-time show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?,” whose format was borrowed from a game show that had aired successfully in the United Kingdom.

The ABC show was initially given a two-week limited run, and it proved such a ratings winner that the network began broadcasting it three times a week. It was also widely considered instrumental in showing that unscripted programming could attract a broad audience for network TV.

Mr. Philbin had been a game show host earlier in his career and when he heard that “Millionaire” was going to be produced for American television, he enthusiastically lobbied to be its host. He appeared on the “Late Show With David Letterman” and proclaimed that if given the new hosting duties, “I am going to resurrect ABC!”

At the very least, he helped resuscitate the prime-time game show format. Following “Millionaire,” which Mr. Philbin hosted until 2002, the networks aired a slew of game shows including “Twenty-One,” “Weakest Link” and “Deal or No Deal.” Within a few years, the “reality” game show genre, which included popular hits such as “The Amazing Race,” solidified their place on network television.

In the New York Times, journalist Alex Witchel wrote in 1999 that “the X factor of ‘Millionaire’s’ success seems to be — besides the money, of course — that Mr. Philbin genuinely wants the contestants to win.”

Mr. Philbin’s experience was suited to carry the show in front of a live studio audience. His much-imitated catchphrase, “Is that your final answer?,” kept the show suspenseful and intriguing.

“I got lucky with this show,” he told the Times in 1999. “I thought I had climbed my mountain with the morning show. Big hit locally and nationally. And all of a sudden this ‘Millionaire’ show comes along and I’m pushed to another mountain peak. I really don’t dare ask anything more. This is it. What else can I want?”

Regis Francis Xavier Philbin was born in Manhattan on Aug. 25, 1931, and grew up in the Bronx. His father was a personnel director for Sperry Gyroscope, which manufactured navigation equipment.

He was named after Regis High School, a Jesuit school in New York that his father attended. He later quipped, “It’s not a great show business name, but Robert Redford was taken.”

He received a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1953 from the University of Notre Dame, then served two years in the Navy before launching a career in entertainment against the wishes of his parents. His early idols were singer Bing Crosby and broadcaster Jack Paar.

He held various jobs, initially with the help of an uncle who worked at CBS radio as a press agent. He spent much of his early career on the West Coast, where he showed promise as a TV personality on local news programs. He had a break in 1964 when Westinghouse Broadcasting hired him for a nationally syndicated late-night show.

It did not work out well, he later told Entertainment Weekly. “I get to Hollywood and find out I’m on a two-week tape delay!” he said. “What could I possibly talk about that would have relevance two weeks from now? I have to be live, and be able to relate something that has happened in my real life. I don’t know how to use writers. I remember being in a hotel suite in San Francisco before the show premiered and staying up until dawn, literally in shock and scared to death. I psychologically was not ready for it. So I failed miserably.”

In 1967, he won a job as announcer and sidekick on “The Joey Bishop Show,” where each night viewers would hear Mr. Philbin say, “And now — twinkle, twinkle, it’s time for Joey!”

But despite the national exposure, Mr. Philbin was unhappy. Often, he was belittled by Bishop and was the butt of on-air jokes. One night, he walked off the set in the middle of a live performance.

“There was talk that maybe it was me who was hurting the show,” Mr. Philbin told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Rather than hurt Joey’s chances for success — and I guess I was offended that they thought it was my fault — I decided to walk one night and see what happened. I simply said, ‘There’s been a lot of pressure on you. I know we’re starting out. I’ve heard some talk that maybe ABC is unhappy with me. You hired me. To get you off the hook — Love ya. Good luck, goodbye.’ ”

Letters from supportive fans immediately poured in and three days later, Mr. Philbin returned to the set. The show lasted until 1969 and often showcased Mr. Philbin as a singer. In 1968, he released his first recording, an album of pop songs called “It’s Time for Regis!”

Mr. Philbin’s first marriage, to Catherine “Kay” Faylen, ended in divorce. In 1970, he married Senese, who had been Bishop’s secretary. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter from his first marriage; and two daughters from his second marriage, Joanna and Jennifer. A son died in 2014.

After Bishop’s show ended, Mr. Philbin served as host of a succession of talk shows culminating in a six-year run on “A.M. Los Angeles.” He left the morning show in 1981 and soon reunited with one of his former colleagues, Cindy Garvey, on a consistently low-rated morning show on the ABC-TV outlet in New York.

Once Mr. Philbin took the helm, the ratings picked up. Garvey was later replaced by Ann Abernathy and then by Gifford.

As much as Mr. Philbin enjoyed household recognition, he tried to present himself in private as down-to-earth and approachable. In his 1995 autobiography, “I’m Only One Man!,” written with Bill Zehme, Mr. Philbin called himself a “cab guy.”

“Limousines just embarrass me,” he wrote. “Like anybody else, when I see a limo on the street, I wonder who’s riding in back. Whoever it is, I expect to be impressed. Whenever I’ve gotten talked into riding in a big sedan, I can’t help but think I’m going to let people down by stepping out of it. They want Madonna to be in that car. Or Donald Trump. Or Kathie Lee! I don’t want to be responsible for that kind of disappointment!”
