Watch/listen here
0:12 (sound of typing on keyboard) Email to the other side…done. Documents for tomorrow…done. (watch beeps) Oh! Just in time. Alright, then! (clicks mouse then gets up) Hashida is signing off! Good work everyone.
0:50 What’s for dinner tonight? (phone vibrates) Yes, it’s Hashida. Thank you for your patronage. Yes.. (footsteps receding) Oh, the quotation estimate? Yes. I can confirm that on my side. Is it urgent? I can get to it. I’ll send it to you soon so please wait a moment.
(phone beeps) Change of direction, huh? Well, that can’t be helped.
1:35 Shoot. That took longer than expected. Can I make it in time before the store closes? My fridge is pretty much empty. At this rate, I might have to settle with eating box lunch from the convenience store. Please, make it in time! No, I’ll make sure to make it!
Ahh, I can’t make it! What to have for dinner? Should I just compromise today? Nah, I’m in the mood for Japanese food thanks to what I had for lunch. I’m not giving up now. I’ve no other choice. I’ll have to detour and go to the supermarket on the other side of the river.
2:29 No way…. How is this possible? I went to three different supermarkets and the fact that each of them ran out of vegetables… I was stubborn and ended up wasting my time. Should’ve used my time for something more worthwhile if I knew this would happen. (sighs) No point regretting over the past. Sometimes, incidents like this happen. Convenience- nah, I’ll settle with instant noodles today.
3:12 Finally home. It’s quite late already. Hmm, postage and letters.. hm? A delivery, eh? I got stuff delivered to me… That’s quite a big box. Oh? It’s from grandma! Huh? Did I ask her something?
I’m back~ (walks with the box and then opens the door) Heigh-ho..! That was quite heavy. What did grandma send me? (tears the tape) These are..! Lotus root, burdock and carrot! And plenty more! Oh, great! This box is full with veggies from back home! Feels as if grandma saw through me today! Talk about timing. Hm? Hold on. (checks fridge) Chicken and konjac jelly. Alright! I got ‘em. I can do this! I can make grandma’s chikuzenni with these ingredients. I don’t have to give up on eating Japanese dish! Thanks, grandma.
Still, I haven’t had chikuzenni in a while since I left home. I hope I can pull this off. Anyway, I just gotta try.
5:20 (pot boiling) First, pre boil the konjac jelly. I should prepare the rest of the ingredients in the meantime. Right. I should first peel the skin off. Get the carrot and lotus root done smoothly with this peeler. (peels veggies) Taro’s skin is thick so I gotta use a knife instead. (sound of cutting against wooden cutting board. Next, burdock. Just washing ‘em with water is enough, I guess? (washes burdock) That’d do. Now, I gotta cut these guys up. (cuts)
Grandma did mention that cutting uniformly matters in stews. When they’re different, the ingredients don’t soak up the same amount of flavour. Good thing I remember that. (continues cutting) What’s left are taro and soaked shiitake. Bite size cut would do.
7:13 Alright. Time to cut these pre-boiled konjac jelly. Evenly cut the konjac…nah, maybe I should try shred it roughly with a spoon. The sections are rougher than when cut using a knife and apparently this way, they would soak the flavour even better…but oh well, I can’t wait to try it out.
(water runs) Also, grandma’s chikuzenni isn’t complete without this…ginger. Ginger really makes so much difference. I’m gonna shred this guy thinly. (sound of cutting against board) Whew. Pretty much done with the prep for now. Next is the chicken. (brings out pot)
Sesame oil goes inside the pot and heats it up. (switches on gas) Add chicken and stir fry until the colour changes. (pot sizzles)
8:47 I guess this would do..? Then, I just gotta add the veggies that I cut earlier into the pot. (sizzles) Stir them until everything is covered in oil. Hm! This fragrant sesame oil aroma! How appetizing. Hm. Looking good. Almost ready. Add the water from soaked shiitake, sake, mirin, soy sauce, sugar and finally, ba-bam! Thinly sliced ginger! Ugh! What am I doing? Alright. What’s left is to let it simmer well. Hm? I feel like I forgot something…? Oh, a lid! Gotta cover it with a lid. Without it, the flavour would be uneven.
(covers pot with a lid) That’d do. Hold on. I forgot the bean to garnish with at the end. I should boil some in the meantime. (sound of water running, metal pot and gas being turned on)
Hmm. About twenty minutes until it’s ready, eh? Right.. I made quite a huge serving. Maybe I should let Akira eat some. Bet he’s eating junk either way.
10:30 (pot boiling) Alright. About time it’s done. I wonder how it’d turn out? Whoa. Looks good. Salty-sweet aroma. This is the best! (turns off the stove)
(door opens then closes) Sudou: Yo~ Hashida: Oh, you’re here? Sudou: Hashi, this is not like back home. You better lock the door. Hashida: Oh, sorry. I forget sometimes. Well, not like I have anything worth stealing. Sudou: One thought he’s guarded but it’s the other way. Hashi, that side of you really never changes. Hashida: Really? I don’t think I am that unguarded. Sudou: Oh, whatever. That aside. That smells really good. Stew? Hashida: Correct. I made chikuzenni today. Using the recipe from my granny. Sudou: Wow, seriously? How delightful. Makes me feel excited. Hashida: You don’t look excited though. Well, that’s not important. I’m gonna garnish this so Akira, can you dish out the rice? Sudou: Okay~
(opens fridge) Hashida: I got some beer. You’re drinking? Sudou: Yeah. Bring ‘em out. Hashida: Hmph. Silly.
11:59 (arranges plates) Hashida: Alright. Now that everything’s ready. It’s time. Hashida & Sudou: Bon appetit.
(both started eating)
Hashida: Oh. The flavour soaked in nicely. Sudou: Hm. This is good. Hashida: I was right to tear the konjac with a spoon. They soak the flavour well and curl into a nice shape. Sudou: Hmm, that method is possible, eh? Actually, this really tastes like the one I had at Hashi’s grandma’s. That kinda makes me emotional. Hashida: Emotional? You’re exaggerating. Sudou: Nah, I mean it. Remember how Hashi’s family often feeds my younger brothers and I, since our pop’s always busy with work? So to me chikuzenni at Hashi’s place is what I consider a mom’s home cooking. Hashida: Oh, right. The only family I have is my grandma, after all. I suppose this meal is a mom’s home cooking. I’ve never thought of it that way. Sudou: You better appreciate her more. Hashida: I do! I mean, I don’t feel lacking despite the absence of parents. I’ve never felt lonely just because grandma’s the only family that I have. Hey, now! Don’t make me say something embarrassing! Sudou: Ah, I see. Hmm. I somehow get it. Hashida: Well, in other words, we should be thankful for the love from people around us. Sudou: Whoa. The way you worded it just screams old person. Hashida: Huh? Really? That was unintentional. But right, recently I do feel like I am an old man. Sudou: Hehe. Just kidding. If anything, you no longer seem immature. It’s crazy if you still act the same when you’re a brat. Hashida: I hope you’re right.
13:53 Sudou: Actually, having chikuzenni while talking about the past with you makes me feel like I just time slipped to when we’re kids. Hashida: Hehe! You’re right. We really played hard back then. It’s impressive how we didn’t get sick of it, even though we lived in the countryside. Sudou: Yeah. Oh, I’m recalling things. You’re quite popular among the girls since you’re casually nice to them. Hashida: Really? I think that’s normal. Sudou: How is that normal? Plenty of girls asked me to pass love letters to you. It was so annoying. Hashida: Ahh, that happened, eh? Heck, don’t be annoyed over something petty! Sudou: Nah, it was so annoying. You said you wanted to focus on the club and stuff. Turning them down half-assed. You’re making it awkward even for me too! How annoying. Hashida: You..! In that case, I’ve got something to say too! Did you forget how I had to let you sit on the back seat of my bicycle simply ‘cus you can’t ride it yourself? You can’t do that until 8th grade! There should be a limit to how unathletic one could be! Sudou: Not 8th. 7th grade! Hashida: Nah, you were in 8th grade! It’d be a problem if you still cannot cycle ‘cus we’re gonna commute to a further place in high school so I accompanied you to practice. Remember? Sudou: That was the 7th grade. Definitely not the 8th. Hashida: It’s not important! Sudou: It is. This involves my good name. Hashida: Heh. As always, you’re so oddly stubborn. Whatever. Uh, ah! Hey, Akira! You’re spilling so much! Gosh. Use this to wipe. You never grow out of it. Sudou: Oh, sorry. Hashida: I guess you can’t help when you stop focusing. But why can’t you control your mouth? You’re old enough, it’s about time you fix that habit. Sudou: Uh, you’re right. Hashida: Oh, almost out of beer. Should I bring more? Sudou: Hashi, I think you’re more like a ma than a pops…
Thanks for reading!!!!! I had this in draft since march lol :’) I translated this just because?? As a practice? Out of whim? lol anyways. This franchise is seriously underrated so pleaseee check it out. I doubt anyone translates this anyway so I did it. I hope this post let seiyuu fans who weren’t aware discover something new. So far, I’ve no plan to continue translating… (there’s four seasons. It’s hella long and I don’t think I can do this voluntarily) but commission is always welcomed!! ❤

The nightmares never stopped. You would see that haunting face every night. It’s actually what triggered your cursed technique from emerging. Her face was always haunting you.
You remember how things escalated ever since you first met. She made you feel wary from the first time; butterflies in your stomach that fluttered endlessly. It soon turned sour when you realized you had become jealous of her. Tomie and her beauty. Tomie and her charm. Tomie and her wit.
You found yourself growing even angrier when she mocked you and said you weren’t worth being friends with. She would hang out with a string of boys from your school, and yet none of them were worthy of her affection either.
The thing that made your cursed technique emerge was the day that she was tormenting you and another boy from your class. He was so in love with her, and you were trying to convince him to stop pursuing her. Though he wouldn’t listen to you, something else happened right before your very eyes.
Tumblr media
Your classmate pulled a knife on Tomie, stabbing her multiple times and causing her blood to splash and splatter everywhere. It hit you in the face, making you shudder and drop to your knees. Then the boy turned to you, threatening you with the very same knife he used to murder Tomie.
The minute he came closer to you, you watched in horror as a giant rose grew and swallowed him whole. The rose exploded in a mess of petals and then everything went black.
The stress from the event caused you to black out. From that moment on, you were pulled from your high school. You were brought to see so many doctors, none of them able to explain what happened to you. Many of them had said you were hallucinating from sheer stress and fear and the boy had just run away.
They deemed you insane and unfit to return to school. Your parents worried you’d never get a good education. Then a man came to visit you in the hospital. Masamichi Yaga had come to you because he had heard about the incident. Days would go by without seeing him again, and when he finally returned, he had invited you to come to the school with him.
Despite no other sorcerers being in your lineage, you were a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Your cursed technique, Swallowing Rose, had just been suppressed for a long time. With no one to teach you about your powers, you never knew to use them. But the minute your life was on the line, that’s when it finally burst out. The rose had come out and done exactly as its name implied.
You weren’t well when you arrived at Jujutsu Tech, and in fact, you needed more extensive therapy. With the years gone by, you eventually found yourself able to comfortably forget about Tomie. It was so far in the recesses of your mind, you just found yourself never thinking about the girl or the incident ever again…
Until today.
In front of you on the desk was a manilla envelope. It was the details for your next mission. You knew it was something you’d be going out of town for. You had been told it was going to be a long mission, and it would take multiple sorcerers to deal with this curse.
A small town by the sea was being tormented by a special grade curse, and of course they had to send only the best of the best. You, Nanami and Gojo had been selected to investigate what was going on. You were just opening up the envelope when the two men in question entered your office. Gojo is, of course, talking Nanami’s ear off. Nanami looks at you, almost as if to beg for help from the man who’s annoying him.
“Are you both here to look over the details for this mission?” You ask, cutting off Gojo’s reply to Nanami’s grunts of annoyance.
“We are! I’m so excited to go on this mission with you and Nanamin!”Gojo coos playfully before he sits on your desk.
You pull the contents of the envelope out and place them on your desk. Your heart skips a beat when the image in front of you begins to pull awful memories from your mind. You blink a few times, unsure if you’re going to faint or if you’re going to vomit. Nanami steps closer, making sure you’re alright.
“What is it?” He asks you, but when he glances at the picture on your desk, he realizes what’s going on.
The reports said that she was a dangerous curse. A special grade curse. One look at her and it would drive the person into madness. Falling in love with her until you cannot take it anymore. Most people who have encountered Tomie have taken their own lives in a fit of rage after murdering the curse…proceed with caution.
“That’s her, isn’t it? The one from when you were a high school student?” Nanami inquires, but he knows the answer.
“Y-yeah it is.”
He notices the way your face has gone all pale. You look like you’re going to be sick. This mission wasn’t any ordinary mission; it was a mission that required two Grade One sorcerers and one Special Grade. You’ve never been on a mission quite like this one.
All three of you were going to have to track down this special grade curse. A curse so beautiful and so angelic, she turns people into murdering maniacs. Only a few have survived after seeing her face to face.
“I don’t think she’s that pretty,” Gojo says with a smirk. He throws a picture of Tomie onto your desk.
Nanami studies it closely, “Maybe not in this photo, but I’ve been told she might be a shapeshifting curse.”
You look at the picture, seeing just how distorted it looks. You feel shivers run down your spine as you recognize the face. It’s Tomie, alright. You’ve seen her before. You, one of the only survivors of witnessing this curse, is about to pick up the pieces again. And it all starts with a distorted photograph of the two-faced girl who bullied you in high school.
“She is something else. Something incomprehensible. She’ll rip you to shreds without a second thought,” you explain, your hands shaking again.
Nanami gets up, heading over to the little coffee station you have in your office. He begins brewing some tea for all three of you. Gojo continues to look at the picture. Meanwhile you read over the details of the mission. Seems like she’s been appearing in all kinds of places all over Japan. It doesn’t surprise you at all.
Despite watching your classmate kill her, you always thought something was odd with the way her corpse had looked. It almost seemed to be twitching with life, despite the fact that he had stabbed her so many times. And when he turned to face you and threatened you with that same knife, you swore you must have heard her voice whispering in your ear.
But it was a bit more of a faded memory now. You couldn’t quite recall all the details. You’re pulled from your thoughts when Nanami places a mug of hot tea in front of you. He gives one to Gojo as well, who smiles playfully.
“This must be hard for you to accept such a mission,” Nanami speaks. “She’s not going to be an easy curse to dispatch.”
You shake your head, “I’m more than ready to put all of this behind me. If we all work together, we can get rid of her for good. You have no idea what she has done to me…and what she might have done to others.”
Gojo looks at the details of the mission. Your first stop would be a small town by the sea. Stories of a woman emerging from the water and luring small children to her had been the words that filled the first page of the report. The other pages were filled with other stories: Tomie murdered and turned into seishu and sold on the black market, Tomie seen dating a top model only for him to disappear into the shadows, Tomie being adopted by a elderly couple only for her to have mysteriously disappeared.
“I think we’ve got a lot on our hands,” Nanami finally pipes up. He sips on his tea and looks at you, “Are you sure you’re going to be able to handle this?”
You nod your head as you finish off your tea. “I’m ready for this. I want to finally end this.”
Gojo smirks, “That’s my girl!” A tinge of jealousy strikes Nanami, but he dismisses it quickly.
You look down at the picture again. You knew this wasn’t going to be an easy task by any means. But if it meant you’d get to live your life normally and put this all behind you, you were ready to finish this once and for all.

JJK X Sanrio
Tumblr media
"Would you hurry it up already brat!?"
"Mind telling me what's so important that you woke me up and forced me to go all the way to Shibuya for?"
Suddenly Yuji's arm pointed upwards.
"That."
Yuji was now standing in front of a large white building plastered with the mascot of a famous cat.
"Sukuna... You can't be serious...?"
They were in front of the Sanrio store, the giant Hello Kitty's eyes boring down on them like a Goddess passing judgement.
"Oh, I'm entirely serious brat. Now get your ass through those apple doors or you can kiss your Jennifer Lawrence posters goodbye!"
Yuji sighed. He wasn't going to lose more personal items due to a curse having a toddler tantrum.
"I would have never taken someone like you as a fan of Hello Kitty Sukuna!"
"It's not like that brat! I'm just here to scoop up all the items I need before anyone else has the chance to buy them!"
He then used Yuji's arms and grabbed five blankets.
"Hey, why do you need multiple blankets!? May I remind you that I have a perfectly fine one back at my dorm?"
Sukuna glanced at his pointed nails and then back to a Hello Kitty hand mirror that he was previously holding. "One. I already tore up your blanket with dismantle while you weren't looking so unless you want to fall asleep to squares of fabric, you will buy these. And secondly, I'm buying multiple because I intend to sell these online at a high price."
"Wait- you're a scalper!? Man, you really are evil..."
Sukuna chuckled as he strode down the isle. Just as he was picking up a third stuffed animal, his grip faltered. "What is this?" He turned around only to see another hand pulling back at the soft plush."
Gojo sensei, I didn't know you were a fan of Sanrio!"
It was none other than the infamous honoured one, decked out in a large Cinnamoroll hoodie. "Is that you Yuji?" He then lifted up his shades and smiled. "So what brings you here?"
Before his student could respond, Gojo felt a tug on the item he was holding and forced himself to stay in place. There was a loud growl and he then noticed a mouth on the opposite hand holding said item.
"No way! The king of curses is obsessed with Hello Kitty!?"
Gojo began to snicker and then pulled out his phone, taking as many photos as he could to Sukuna's horror.
He wanted to protest that it wasn't like that as he did with Yuji but they both knew the sorcerers six eyes would see straight through that lie. Sukuna then looked over to Gojo's cart and his eyes widened.
"You bastard! You're the reason I couldn't find any items from the collab!"
Within Gojo's stash was the whole stores stock of the Sanrio x Tomie crossover.
"Hey, it's finders keepers, losers weepers."
"You asshole! You want me to go get the store manager and see what he says!?"
-------
The fighting had now caused a crowd to form."
Hey Mimiko, is that two guys fighting over merchandise?"
Her sister then looked over.
"Oh my God, it is Nanako! You know what I'm thinking?"
"You're going to film it and try to go viral on Tiktok again?"
"And then we can go get crepes after!"
-------
"Alright, what seems to be the issue here?"
"Principal Yaga, you're the store manager!?"
"It puts food on the table. Now would one of you mind telling me what the hell is going on!?"
Before Sukuna could get a word in, Gojo spoke.
"Poor Yuji is being forced by Sukuna to help scalp items and sell them later. He even went into the employee only area! Trust me, I saw him!"
"WHY YOU SON OF A-"
Yaga raised his arm and cut Sukuna off.
"Now tell me Yuji, is this true?"
"I'm sorry sir! He tried to bribe me with some Pochacco merchandise but I just can't let him get away with this!"
An eye then formed under Yuji's cheek.
"YOU DANN BRAT! THAT'S THE LAST TIME I TRY TO BE NICE TOWARDS YOU!"
"I think I'll be on my way now!" said Gojo.
Then a firm hand gripped his shoulder. "Stay. We haven't listening to Sukuna's side of the story yet."
'Shit!' Gojo swore internally. He was now sweating bullets.
It was then that Sukuna calmed down and composed himself. He then grinned at Gojo.
"As I was trying to say earlier, this disgusting excuse for a sorcerer has the entire stores stock of the Tomie collab in his cart."
"Satoru, is this true?"
Sukuna then used his technique to destroy the container and all the items fell out, the boxes now closing in on them waist deep.
Yaga sighed. "I'm afraid that I'm going to need to ask the two of you to leave. You are both hereby banned. Yuji is free to return as long as he can control Sukuna. Now please exist the store."
"Huh?"
"What's wrong Yuji?"
"It's Sukuna. All of a sudden I can't feel his presence anymore?"
"Well I guess that settles it. Satoru would you please follow me towards the exit?"
Gojo turned off infinity because he would rather the cops not be called but that didn't stop him from causing a scene.
"NOOOOO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'LL DIE IF I CAN'T SEE MY PRECIOUS CINNAMOROLL!"
His eyes darted around until he saw a familiar face by the Pompompurin items.
"NANAMI, HELP ME! HERE'S A LIST OF ITEMS I NEED YOU TO BUY FOR ME! HEY, WAIT- CAN'T YOU HEAR ME!? NAAAAANAAAAMIIIIIIIN!!!!"
The blonde sorcerer kept his back turned. "Just ignore it and act like you don't know him..." When this was over Nanami would treat himself to some sandwiches.
Yaga then opened the apple doors and threw Gojo out, causing the man to fall flat on his ass.
"Satoru...?"
"Suguru! You gotta help me-"
"I'm just here to pick up my daughter's..."
"Oh... I see."
"...I don't know if you know this but you're kind of trending right now..."
Geto then threw his phone towards his ex boyfriend/best friend.
"Suguru, would you mind telling me what a TikTok is?"
-------
Yuji looked down at his cart.
"I guess I should put all this stuff back huh? Oh that's right, Sukuna tore up my blanket like some kind of house cat. I guess it wouldn't hurt to just buy one..."
Yuji was about to go to the checkout when he noticed a Badtz-Maru plush. "I guess I could get Megumi something while I'm here."
Yuji picked up the plush and noticed they came in pairs. The one he was holding also held a miniature Hello Kitty. Yuji looked downwards. "Sukuna, I don't know if you can hear me or not but if I buy you this, will you please stop causing trouble in public!?"
After paying for the items and exiting the store Sukuna took control.
"...I'll think about it."
He tore open the packaging and held on to the stuffed cat. He nuzzled into Hello Kitty and murmured "You are my special..."

The train ride to the seaside village wasn’t the most pleasant. You knew what you were getting yourself into, but you never realized just how expressive and energetic the Special Grade sorcerer could be. He loves to talk your ear off, and he definitely enjoys annoying Nanami more than anything.
You begin to wonder if maybe there is something else going on between those two. Despite Nanami acting like he couldn’t take another second of Gojo bothering him, you keep seeing a little bit of a smile on his face. The kind of smile he hides every time you look at him.
When there is peace and quiet, you decide to sleep. It is not a restful sleep, but you know that you will all arrive at the village quite late at night. You want to have at least a few hours of rest before entering the village where Tomie was last seen.
It’s Nanami who wakes you up. You notice his blazer draped over you in an attempt to keep you warm as you sleep. You blink a few times, yawning and stretching as you slowly come to. Then you sit up, handing Nanami his blazer once more.
Tumblr media
“Thank you,” you say as you take his hand.
He smiles. “It’s my pleasure. Gojo already went ahead to find our accommodations for the next couple of days.”
You look out the window before you allow Nanami to guide you out of the train. It’s such a dreary little town. You don’t have to guess why someone like Tomie ended up in this little place. You wonder if she’s still here or maybe it’s going to lead to nothing to come here.
Nanami’s hand is warm as he leads you towards where your luggage sits. He picks up his own bag, throwing it over his shoulder. For a moment, you feel like you’re looking at the young teenager with his blade holder on his back. You smile when you see just how much he’s changed. The young man has turned into a big, strong adult now.
“What?” Nanami inquires.
You smirk, “You really just reminded me of yourself when you were a teen.”
He blushes and looks away, then begins to chastise you for not being more serious. You know he isn’t being super serious when you see that shy smile on his face. It’s a shy smile you’ve seen time and time again and the kind of smile that makes your heart skip a beat.
The smell of the salty air is what hits you first when you exit the station with Nanami. Not only is he carrying his own bag, but he’s got yours and Gojo’s as well. You know he’s strong, but you can’t help but tug on his sleeve.
“Do you want help with that?” you ask him, motioning to the bags.
He shakes his head. “I’ve got it.”
You two walk towards the hotel you’d be staying in. The village is quaint but it’s cute despite the initial dreary vibes. You look around at the shops that are very clearly tourist traps. Not much is open here at this time of night; a convenience store with a bored looking clerk at the cash register, a somewhat bustling bar playing some loud rock music and the hotel you’d be staying in.
A bell rings from the top of the door as you open the door. Nanami follows you inside. You spot Gojo waiting for the both of you; his long legs splay out as he barely sits on a chair in the lobby. He hops up, smiling happily.
“Finally! Took you two long enough!” Gojo complains.
Nanami sighs, “She was sleeping. I didn’t want to disturb her.”
Your heart flutters at the words that come from him. You always admired Nanami, especially since you two grew up together in your own way. He had been the one you clung to when you first arrived at Jujutsu Tech. He has just lost his best friend and you were a lost little thing trying to find your way. Nanami had been the one to train you for the most part when it wasn’t Masamichi or Gojo.
You roll your eyes and grab Gojo by the hand, leading him down the hall and asking him to bring you to your room. You don’t notice the jealous look that befalls the broad blond behind you.
The room is a tight squeeze for the three of you. There are only two beds, but thankfully there is a pull-out couch. You decide to make peace with the fact that you won’t quite be able to have a good sleep, considering you’ll be the one to take the couch.
“I’ll take the couch,” Nanami offers, sitting down on it.
Your eyes widen. “No, no, no…” you place your hand on his shoulder. “You’re a big man, you won’t fit. Let me take the couch.”
It’s Gojo that approaches you. He smiles softly and gestures towards one of the beds. He places his hand on your shoulder.
“Why not share with me?”
Your cheeks burn as you fully take in what he has to say. You see a jealous look flash over Nanami’s striking features. Gojo tilts his head, lifting his blindfold just a little bit to look at you with his jewel colored eyes.
“A-are you sure?” You ask, your hands fidgeting.
Gojo nods, placing his blindfold back down. “Yes, it’s fine.”
So you take your bag over and place it on the bed. You’ve decided not to argue with any of them anymore. You’ll just sleep in one of the beds with Gojo. It’s fine, you two have been close since you were a teen. It’s not like anything romantic is going to happen.
You take out your toiletries bag and a change of clothes. The two men observe you as you make your way to the bathroom. You turn to face them once more.
“I’m going for a shower. Then we should get some rest. Tomorrow is a big day.”
Nanami was the first one awake the next morning. He knew that getting an early start. He has some notes to look through for more information. A few people were listed on the notes. People of interest.
His eyes flickered over the pages as he drank coffee from a can. It was from the vending machine down the hall, and while not his favorite, it still did the trick.
It’s only when you begin to rouse from your sleep that Nanami finally looks over at the bed. Gojo had been cuddled up practically on you, which caused Nanami to glare. There’s this deep, fiery jealous feeling in the pit of his stomach and he’s hating it every single time he feels it.
You look over at him with a sleepy smile and your bedhead. It’s the most beautiful thing he’s seen in a while. You pull back the blankets and you pad over to him. As you sit next to him, Nanami gets a whiff of your sandalwood and jasmine body wash. It’s a very comforting scent.
“Did you sleep okay?” He asks, handing you one of the cans of coffee.
You open it up and take a sip, a small grimace on your face. “Not too bad. Gojo is warm.”
This causes that funny feeling deep inside of him to resurface. It has to be one of his least favorite feelings. He smiles tenderly at you and he shows you the notes he’s going over.
You two lean in closer to read the notes. Your heads are almost touching. It’s a very quiet moment. The coffee isn’t great but it’s perking you up. Nanami places his arm around you, but doesn’t pull you in. It’s more to steady you as you two read the notes.
“Morning!” Gojo shouts from the bed, nearly jumping out of the sheets. “What are you two lovebirds doing?”
Nanami sighs and grips the notes a little tighter. He knows having Gojo with you is important for the mission. This Special Grade curse might prove to be too much even for two Grade One sorcerers. So having Satoru as a backup plan was the smartest thing all three of you could do.
“Getting ready to go out. I’m going to get dressed.” You say quickly, getting up to find your suitcase.
Gojo smirks as he sees just how flustered you are. This mission was going to be very difficult for you, so if he can show just a little kindness or even make you feel flustered over nothing, it could make sure that your emotional crash won’t be too devastating.
It takes little time for all three of you to be ready to head out. Nanami suggests getting some breakfast and briefing about the mission. Gojo agrees, tugging on your sleeve towards the cute little cafe.
The three of you sit at a booth near the window. You get to really see the village through the big bay window. Lots of people are walking around. Most of them look nervous and sad. There’s almost a look of distrust on their faces. You know exactly that sentiment. The feeling of never being able to trust the next person because of the things that Tomie does.
Gojo and Nanami are briefing while you’re observing. You barely touch your breakfast, which has both men worried about you. Gojo is about to start feeding you when you finally continue to eat. You’re thinking about what angle to take all of this at.
The morning is spent interviewing and asking questions. Most of the people don’t want to bother answering your questions. Some people seem downright scared. Others just don’t trust you. Even with Nanami carrying the conversations with most people.
You’re on the main docks with all the fishermen trying to outsell one another. You walk down the dock until you notice one of the fishermen looking at you. He beckons you over.
“I’ve seen that look in your eyes before, miss.” He says. “You know her.”
From the front pocket of his fishing bib, he pulls out a crumpled old photograph. You’ve seen the face time and time before, but this was a new angle. She’s lying in the ocean, only it’s just her head this time. You wonder how this could possibly be.
“She was here not too long ago. I think she’s left us now. Right about the time that young boy lost his mind.” He explains.
“The young boy?” You inquire.
“Yes, he was so young and healthy. His mind just snapped after spending some time with her.” The fisherman explains. “They never found his father either.”
Gojo and Nanami make their way towards you. You hold onto the photograph. It’s almost like she’s staring at you through the photograph. You can’t peel your eyes away from it. Suddenly, she winks at you.
The photo slowly flutters to the ground as you fall back, fainting. Gojo and Nanami are quick to scoop you up, preventing you from hitting your head on the cold, hard dock.
She winked at me!!!! She winked at me!!! Tomie. Winked. At. Me!!!
