Did a quick one night paint on this elf, it was a fun mini.
This mini is Yaen the Elven Sorceress by Twin Goddess Miniatures.
Tried mixing things up a bit by using dirty down moss for the cloak. It isn't quite what I expected, but I do think its a cool effect. I really should sit down and properly work out how that stuff works some time. I like the effects I get, but I never seem to be able to get it to do quite what I expect.

Penny Dragon from Twin Goddess Miniatures
Started this a looooooong time ago to experiment a bit with the Speedpaint metallics. It was poorly printed and has a defect that lopped the end of the tail off, so I had to sculpt a new one. I think I did a good job with the eyes.

wizkids miniatures are by NECA (the guys that did heroclix) have always been hot garbage since they were introduced! their unpainted figures have like no detailing and what detailing they have is obscured by the super thick primer and flash placement!! even their supposed "premium" prepainted figs look like farts, for example
teferi akosa (MtG)

lord victorio (DnD dragonheist)

if yall want these you're better off finding a friend with a 3d printer and getting one of the *much* better sculpted characters and painting em yourself
the other thing about the bg3 blind boxes is that 1) they like nearly TWICE as expensive as any of the other dnd or pathfinder blind boxes that NECA has made and 2) though you'll get some of the bg3 specific stuff you're also getting reused models from their other releases (well reposed in this gnoll's case but still!!!!)

WizKids BG3 MiniFigure Quality
I posted this on a Bsky thread but figured Tumblr people may want to take a look too - there is a vast difference in the quality shown in the advertisements and main page for both the Icons of the Realm D&D minifigures set and the actual product images. The product images are also now on the shop page, and/or in the video review that is displayed on the shop page.
All product images shown here are available either in the images or videos on the shop page. The images and characters belong to the rights holders and are used here to illustrate the review and critique of the products. I do not work for WizKids, WotC, or any affiliated or rival companies. The following is personal opinion.
This is the official advert as seen on Facebook

And THIS is the actual product

More below the cut including other character images~
Ok so looking at just the Astarion image and actual model there, the promo image is really sharp, well painted, highly detailed. It looks to me like a high quality 3D print, but could also be a digitally created or edited image. The product image is very different. The jacket and lower legs are a different colour to each other and neither match the promo image. All detail in the hair is lost. There's very little face detail. The paint in general looks cheap and applied too thickly. Every part looks thicker.
I do not know for certain but if I were to guess, I'd say the actual product is a mass produced mould and pour in a cheaper plastic, not 3D printed. Which would be fine if they were advertising the product with the actual models, but they're showing a version that is vastly different.
Let's take a look at some more, shall we?

Wyll (Phyll) barely has any distinguishable facial features at all, and his horns appear to be uneven. Karlach's (Carlocked's) horns are barely visible from the black lump of her hair, and her axe is visibly warped and bent in the middle. Lae'zel (La'zzle) is stood in a battle stance and whilst some effort seems to have been put in to the markings on her skin and face, the same can't be said for her armour and her hands and hair look like blobs of plastic. Astarion (Astarion't) has the colour issues, and his hair completely lacks most of his classic texture, and most of his colours are inaccurate. Similarly Shadowheart (Shorterhurt) has barely any recognisable facial features and the paint on the hand holding her spear looks chipped even though this is supposedly the promotional photo. Gale's (Goyle's) staff is warped and lacks any defined shape to the blobs at each end, and generally is about as vaguely barely recognisable as the rest. Withers (WitheredAway) has some attention to detail but suffers all the same problems as the rest, undefined, not at all like the promised quality in the advert, and everything is just more blob-like than it should be even on a small scale miniature.
Here they are in their box! And the best box they could get to photograph shows Gale's staff bent at a significant angle. Now I'm not here to judge a wizard by the bend in his staff, but this isn't what's advertised even on the back of the box!
Come on, Gale, that's just sad...
You may notice that the back of the box advertises a line of blind booster boxes! Each of those comes with one Large size figure and 3 Small or Medium figure. Would you like to see the differences between the advertised images on the page and the products shown in the video on that same page?

I know the top image from the video does suffer from the lower resolution, but that drop in quality has nothing to do with the camera/screen. The hair lacks any texture, the mouth no longer has a defined tongue and teeth it's just a blob, the chainmail is far less detailed, all the points on the mace and armour are far less sharp and defined.

The skin colour has changed in this one, despite the red in the armour staying the same. The details have dropped right off, and the face and hair look like a completely different character.

I apologise for the crop in this one but still we have gone from Lump the Enlightened to Lumpier the NotEnlightenedActually - his skin is now green, lacks the fine detail of hair and wrinkles, even misses the skin tone variation and shading from the original. The face is far less defined, you can see clearly that the rope belt has gone from high detail to much more blob-like.
I'm not going to go through all of them, but there are precious few that look like a quality level I would consider to be worth the price point.
You can see the products here:
And here:
The product videos that the screenshots come from are on those pages too in the description part of the product.
Final notes:
This is all just my opinion, but I feel like the advertised images are not representative of the product that will be delivered. If you have preordered already and you feel like you no longer want to have these items, you can apply for a refund before the items are shipped - the standard shop email will tell you that it may take 2 working days (Mon-Fri) to get a response.
If you still like these items and want to order them, I'm genuinely happy for you and hope you enjoy them - there isn't enough official merch for us especially for certain characters.
In my opinion, however, these should be advertised only with the actual products and not the fancy looking prototypes.
And for those feeling disappointed, maybe a meme will help a little? (I don't usually like this template/theme at all but honestly this might be the one time it actually fits)
#wizkids/neca has the absolute worst miniatures#i will die on this hill#twin goddess miniatures has the best bg3 inspired minis#i will also die on this hill#sorry op i fucking hate wizkids!!!!

Athenide Twins Ficlet
As the Goddess of sea crafts, Arsinoe enjoyed weaving nets and sails. The task kept her hands busy as her mind worked, and it was useful too!
Sometimes however, she ended up in front of a loom weaving like her mother did- to fulfil a vision she had in her mind and give it tangible form.
She'd become a Goddess of Family, and she'd thought it applied mostly to broken families like Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson had been born into- a father and stepmother who resented the toil her demigod nature brought, a single mother in a dire situation, a sworn family of children protecting children...
She hadn't expected it to apply to a husband and wife, let alone the most famously in love couple of Greek Mythology.
Yet upon meeting her mother's favoured hero and his beloved wife- she had Felt them in her head, her thoughts tumbling like a scallop in a riptide.
They Wanted a child. To raise, to love, to teach.
Yet due to their station as King and Queen of Ithaca, it would not be solved by simply handing over an appropriate child... Which she hadn't done that often, admittedly. Foster mothers and fathers were accepted, but adoption was entirely unofficial.
But still, the image in her head would not leave, and her headache grew. To give the image a form outside of her mind was the only idea she had. And it was working!
The tapestry she had woven had three figures- Odysseus, with his arms wrapped around Penelope, the two of them gazing at a child in her arms. The baby was old enough to have her father's fairish hair, but as she was weaving a moment of mischief compelled her to give the child mostly grey eyes like all her Mother's children save Perse.
To compensate, the rest of the girl child had been woven in Penelope's miniature- the grey woven through with river blue, possessing Penelope's fair skin, her distinctive ears from her naiad heritage, and the gentle curl of her hair.
As she tied off her work, Arsinoe sighed and stretched. She'd been too focused on the weaving, for too long. Gods might not Need sleep the way mortals did, but she'd appreciate a nap.
She stood from her stool and left. She had not fully left the Temple when a voice called her.
"Sister, you've resurfaced!" Perse greeted with a grin. "I feel I've barely seen you this past week, have you been avoiding me?"
"Not at all." Arsinoe said. "I was trying to deal with a headache. Could you go take care of it for me? I shall be off to enjoy my bed for a time, now that the pain has eased."
Perse blinked. Goddess with a headache? She'd heard of such things, but it was usually domain related.
"Of course." She promised. "I'll see to everything." Whatever 'it' was. A new model for a city? A sewer plan? Couldn't be that complicated or Annabeth now Arsinoe would be taking care of it herself. Or telling her to leave it as it was.
"Thank you Perse. You have my gratitude."
Arsinoe said with a smile, leaving. Perse walked into the room her sister had just left and regretted everything.
Stray threads clung to a loom, the product of which was wrapped around a bundle on the ground.
A baby shaped bundle, that fell into her domain as a demigoddess.
"Arsinoe. What the actual..."
Wait. Baby- no swearing around baby, that much was instinct after Ascelpius's toddler years. And her time in Camp as well, although the children there usually already knew enough curses to be getting on with.
Okay, she was the Goddess of Demigods, and this unnamed child was....
Daughter of Odysseus of Ithaca and Penelope of Sparta, demigod of Arsinoe.
That was new. But at least now she knew where she was taking the baby.
Annabeth had been taken to her father's doorstep in a golden cradle by the West Wind. Perse picked up the girl and went to find a dryad- she had said she'd take care of this. She'd deliver the baby herself.

Special Attention
Wandanat x Male Reader (Modern AU)
It wasn’t that you meant to. It just kind of happened. Natasha was beginning to feel left out a little.
It all began a month ago when you and Wanda began the prep work for the birth of the twins. Natasha tried to help out as best as she could for Wanda but the time assembling the cribs and hearing how ecstatic Wanda was for her boys, it all made Natasha feel depressed.
Make no mistake, Natasha wasn’t bitter. She was so happy that Wanda got to be a mother. It was just that Nat was beginning to feel like a third or maybe fifth wheel in this relationship. These feelings of inadequacy built and boiled over the month.
You and Wanda took notice and formed a little plan to cheer up your shared loved one.
The plan came to a head that night. Natasha walked into her home to find her favorite Bond movie playing on the TV. She could smell the faint aroma of her favorite dish on the stove.
“What’s this?” Natasha asked as you and Wanda came in from the kitchen.
“A little surprise,” you shrug
“For our detka” Wanda finished with a smile. “Dinner will be ready shortly. You go up and take a nice shower”
Wanda was already getting used to the motherly like commands. She loved giving them every chance she could.
You gave Natasha a little kiss on the nose and sent her upstairs.
Natasha went up to find that you and Wanda had put together a miniature spa in the master bathroom. Little scents and shampoos decorated the space. Natasha couldn’t help but smile.
She understood what was going on. She never felt more loved.
She came down half an hour later, feeling refreshed and revived. The sight that greeted her was a candle lit dinner for two.
“Why is there only two plates?” She asked. Wanda was already heading to the door.
“Pietro wanted to see me so I’ll be back in the morning,” Wanda gave Natasha a hug and a little wink, “good luck.”
Natasha couldn’t help but blush. She had some alone time with you.
“I’m sorry I’ve been so busy, Nat,” you wrap her in a hug, “ I never want you to feel left out or anything”
“It’s okay… the boys are due in a few months and-“ she tried to make up an excuse but she found tears coming to her eyes.
Your thumbs brush away the tears as you pepper her lips with kisses. “I missed you,” you whispered against her lips.
“I missed you, moya lyubov” she grabs you and pulls you into a fiery kiss. Little moments she wanted desperately for the last month, the embers in her heart roaring into a fire.
Her hands moved to your cltohes, tugging at them.
“Natasha” you moan, “the food?”
“We have a microwave,” she giggles as she fumbles with her belt, “we can reheat it.”
She guides you to the couch and gently shoves you down. She straddles you, kissing you and leaving a trail of kisses all over you. You gently pull her shirt up and off of her goddess like body.
“Mine” she whispers hungrily.
“All yours” you answer back.
Sometime later, Natasha lays in your arms purring like a contented cat. The two of you watch the rest of the spy movie on the TV as you rub reassuring circles into her spine.
“I love you,” you whisper into her red hair, “and so does Wanda.”
“I know,” she mumbles back, “thank you for this”
“And you know the boys are going to see you as their mother just as much as Wanda”
“Mmm hmm,” she nuzzles you. “I’m gonna love them just as much as her too”
This throuple you found yourself in was an unusual pairing to say the least but you love it. You love showering both women with love and adoration. Sometimes, one of them just needs her own night of special attention and affection.

Close to 18 years ago, astronomers spotted a miniature, icy world named Eris billions of miles beyond Neptune. But unlike its dwarf planet cousin Pluto — which New Horizons promoted to a rich, dynamic world after its visit in 2015 — Eris has not had any robotic visitors. It is so far away from Earth, in fact, that it shows up in observations just as a single pixel of light. All in all, scientists know very little about what happens on Eris. Though what we do know is Eris is known to have an atmosphere that freezes and snows onto the surface below, thanks to its place near the edge of the solar system. It's about 68 times farther from the sun than Earth is. And now, new models based on data from an array of radio telescopes in Chile have revealed more about Eris. Heat leftover from the dwarf planet's birth seems to be oozing out and slowly flexing its icy surface. The process is causing Eris to behave less like a solid, rocky planet and "more like a soft cheese or something like that," study co-author Francis Nimmo of the University of California Santa Cruz said in a statement. "It has a tendency to flow a bit." While a lot still remains unknown about Eris, it is considered an "almost perfect" twin of Pluto — both dwarf planets are nearly exactly the same size. Actually, when it was first spotted in 2005, it appeared to be slightly bigger than Pluto, triggering a debate among scientists. This had led the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to clarify its definition of a planet and demote Pluto to a dwarf planet. It was thanks to this contention in the scientific community that the IAU in 2006 named the dwarf planet Eris, after the Greek goddess of discord.

Painted a cute little goblin squire :3
Not much to say about this one, just a quick fun paintjob I did in a night. Trying to get back to painting more regularly, and this is a good step in that direction!
One note for myself is that I think I went a little too dark with the darkest green. Or possibly didn't shade lighter tones across enough of the mini. Particularly the tail I think is a tad too dark for a lot of its surface. I was trying to push my dark/light contrast a bit more, but I think I overcorrected. Something to experiment more with though, because I do love some places with that darker green.
